world. war i should know over there is real yes we do but we're more. coming up on our team mounting pressure on pyongyang us think sions targeted eight more than korean banks that could supply money for the country's missile programs. and fight for independence millions of kurds in iraq to vote to form an independent states despite harsh criticism from international governments. then a discrimination lawsuit against n.y.p.d. black detectives claim their white coworkers were promoted ahead of them how the department is responding the later in the show.
5:01 pm
it's tuesday september twenty sixth five pm in washington d.c. i'm going to sweets and you're watching r.t. america we begin this hour with escalating tensions between the united states and north korea today president donald trump said sanctions would target north korea's the financial sector artie's kaleb moppet has the latest on the exchange between washington and pyongyang. it's an ongoing war of words it's important to point out that north korea's foreign minister was responding to comments by donald trump on social media specifically on twitter donald trump said the north korea's leader might not be around much longer and so we have this response from north korea's foreign minister now we've heard from the pentagon they have responded to the comment from the foreign minister saying if north korea does not stop their provocative actions we will provide options to the president and now we have a response from the u.s. state department not declared war on north korea and frankly the suggestion of that
5:02 pm
is absurd. are you ready to shoot down a u.s. aircraft even if there's right it's never appropriate for a country to shoot down another country's aircraft when it's over international waters our goal is still the same we continue to seek the peaceful nuclearization of the korean peninsula that's our focus doing that through both the most maximum economic and diplomatic pressure is possible at this point there's been quite a back and forth between donald trump and the leaders of the d.p. r. k. let's take a listen to that the united states has great strength and patients but if it is forced to defend itself or its our lives we will have no choice but to totally destroy north korea. rocket man. is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime. kind of measure will be taken decided by a chairman of the state affairs commission. but i think that the strongest ever
5:03 pm
hundreds of people might be tested in the pacific. now it's important to note that at the beginning of september north korea tested its first hydrogen bomb a much more advanced nuclear weapon than they previously have tested and proliferated and furthermore they are announcing at this point they intend to carry out another test of a hydrogen bomb but this time it will not take place within north korea itself but rather in the pacific ocean so many are wondering what will happen if north korea doesn't deed test a hydrogen bomb in the pacific ocean what response will we see from the united states now this proposal from russia and china of a double three is deescalating the crisis and restoring negotiations it hasn't really gone any place that hasn't really been taken seriously but we continue to hear this very heated war of words between the leaders of the united states and the leaders of north korea as of yet it's just a war of words but people are concerned many people around the world are no doubt
5:04 pm
concerned that this could lead to a catastrophic conclusion and one methylation simply north korea and the u.s. let's bring in danny shah professor at the city university in new york and representative of the people's congress of resistance thanks so much for joining us today thank you and now there have been recent escalations between the u.s. and north korea mostly with north korea's prime minister speaking with reporters in new york just yesterday now he made very inflammatory comments like wealthy who won't be around much longer and also claim the u.s. had declared war when in fact they had not can you really gauge a tweet as a declaration of war. well riyal hold the foreign minister of north korea has every right to defend his homeland surely the united states if their airspace were violated would shoot down any planes that violated that airspace the u.s. is no fly zones over iraq over libya. which is
5:05 pm
a clear violation of international law so i think it's important to see who the aggressor is in this situation in the north koreans even according to the joint chiefs of staff who released this statement today are merely trying to protect their country and on the foreign minister also said that the north korea's countermeasures included shooting down the u.s. bombers even when they're not inside the airspace border of their country so don't you think that's more of an act of war than president trump tweet about you know rocket man or anything like that. the north koreans are looking to the u.n. they're looking to the russians the chinese they're looking for multilateralism but when the north koreans have to stand on their own what can they resort to but self-defense the north koreans have very carefully studied history they saw what happened in panama in one thousand eight hundred nine nicaragua in one thousand
5:06 pm
nine hundred ninety grenada and one nine hundred eighty three yugoslavia in one thousand nine hundred nine in the list goes on and on and on any country that doesn't go before the us is a period military my has been reinvaded reoccupied recall and in the north koreans are saying that they're going to take their destiny into their own hands and let's talk about the recent sanctions the un security council unanimously approved what kind of impact is cutting off china's central bank from doing business with north korea had and we also see that today it was announced that the u.s. sanctions and eight north korean banks as well as twenty six being workers how do you see this affecting north korea's economy. of course the twenty seven million people of north korea have felt the pinch of the u.s. blockade since one nine hundred fifty when the war first begin i think it's important to review that history this is been an unceasing war against the korean peninsula is self-determination in the south koreans don't want the third missile
5:07 pm
system the thirty thousand u.s. troops there is well so the saying the threats the continued occupation of both sides of the thirty eighth parallel are clear violations of korean sovereignty in the sanctions form a big part of that now all the arguments in the spotlight has been you know between north korea and the u.s. north korea has publicly stated that it wants an official end to the korean war and weapons pointed at south korea's capital only thirty miles from the border so if you think so wasn't any kind of danger here. i don't think anyone thinks that north korea is a truly existential threat if you look at the u.s. is track record that's all we should be afraid of oh i don't think that the north koreans are going to preemptively launch anything but they're trying to send a message all they want to be they want to be left alone in the u.s. media continues to be the war drums and say there's no magic fix for north korea
5:08 pm
and we don't know what to do we've tried everything is though the u.s. was somehow the the peace monger is here which is a funny thing to even entertain but here is a miraculous solution solution leave north korea alone thank you that's danny shah professor at the city university of new york and representative of the people's congress of resistance. thank you. president donald trump welcome spanish prime minister don't get a whole to the white house today and this comes just days before a vote on october first to determine whether the region of catalonia will remain a part of spain president called on citizens of spain to remain united all the spanish prime minister said the vote would be a legal because there is no electoral committee to supervise the process catalonia is one of spain's seventeen autonomy's regions its capital is the mediterranean port city of barcelona and state department spokeswoman has there heather nard
5:09 pm
recently said that the united states has no official position on the referendum. and president trump plans to visit hurricane ravaged puerto rico next tuesday the president told reporters at the white house is the earliest he can visit without disrupting the recovery operations the head of the federal emergency management agency brooke long and white house security adviser tom have been on the ground in san juan since monday but the white house has been criticized for not doing enough to help suffering populations of puerto rico or president trump tried to blunt criticism saying quote he's done classes on texas and in florida and also on puerto rico but the difference is this is an island sitting in the middle of an ocean meanwhile it's been five days says maria slammed into the island and three point four million u.s. citizens are still struggling to find food and clean water are. in miami with more. hi there
5:10 pm
a growing humanitarian crisis is unfolding in puerto rico where more than three point four million americans as you said have lived nearly one week without electricity and access to communication while many citizens remain without adequate food water and fuel the u.s. president has been criticized for not paying enough attention to the devastation hurricane maria caused on the island in the midst of puerto rico's recovery the president tweeted monday night about the island's seventy four billion dollar debt this afternoon trump said puerto ricans are great people and announce plans to visit the island october third the first time we can do without really disrupting first responders and the efforts of the big made people we have shared massive amounts of food and water and supplies to puerto rico and we are continuing to do or go to an hourly basis. president trumps a visit would come nearly two weeks after puerto rico was hit with
5:11 pm
a category four hurricane the u.s. leader has signed a fema waiver indicating the government will assume one hundred percent of the recovery costs for puerto rico however the trumpet ministration has denied a request to waive shipping restrictions to help get fuel and supplies to the island the jones act limits shipping between coast to u.s. flagged vessels the department of homeland security waive the act for texas and florida after hurricanes harvey and irma puerto rico's governor ricardo over seo says aid shipments into the island are beginning to increase expressing confidence president trump will aid the island's recovery process that can guarantee to everybody that's something the president has called has pledged to his support and we we have an expectation of talking to him again today about the next plants that will be taken so the president is very much aware we are confident that we will get the resources. ten thousand federal relief workers are currently in puerto rico
5:12 pm
conducting a search and rescue mission however hospitals in many towns are still pleading for more medical assistance and this comes as nearly one hundred thousand people have signed an online petition calling for the navy to send its hospital ship to the island to provide medical relief to puerto ricans in need of care officials say the u.s. territory is facing months of rebuilding and billions of dollars in costs to restore infrastructure and services after enduring one of the strongest hurricanes to ever hit u.s. soil all right that's more important i am reporting live in miami thanks so much. and coming up on our team millions of kurds vote for independence well iraq's government honored the results of the referendum well discuss after a short break. all

the world's the states and all the news companies merely players but what kind of parties are anti american plate party america offered r t america first look. many ways to use landscape it's just like you see a real movie big names good actors bad actors and in the end you could never you're on. the park all the world's all the world's all the world's a stage we are definitely a player. people have got to know whether or not fair presenter support american people deserve to know these differences at this point does it maybe must guard against the military

industrial war we shall never want to go. or should know that. yes we do but we're not. sure. i'm john harshman i'll give you what the mainstream media can't so big picture. a little slow and wouldn't question mark find what you're looking for this little. dog. will go deeper investigate and debate all so you can get the big picture.
5:15 pm
i. say point three million kurds defy their northern and southern neighbors yesterday voting to secede from iraq to form an independent kurdish country while turkey and iraq responded harshly there in economic and military action if the movement to form a kurdish state continues and for more on this independent movement we turn now to the director of outreach for the kurdish policy research center for iraq even thank you so much for joining us and so we understand that the results came in jest at five pm so what's the latest so so far the results are ninety one ninety one point eighty three percent for independence of kurdistan regional government for uk so overwhelmingly people are supporting to. get out there and be independent and so we understand that the president of turkey or one he came out and said that this whole independence for iraqi kurdistan could spark an ethnic war in the region and he even proposed military options on the table so what are your thoughts right his
5:16 pm
example was actually the city of. it's a kurdish city in turkey and it's gone through a very big destruction and he used this as an example of what awaits the kurdistan regional government right now of course i see this is an empty threat considering the fact that they or one of the biggest partners trading partners of the kurdistan regional government i don't think i'd run is going to jeopardize this relationship and of course the course original government also is the second largest partner trading partner of turkey nearly ten billion dollars including you know mostly oil so i don't think our god is going to jeopardize this relationship he's just trying to kind of. scare the kurdish population within his own borders. turkish borders you bring up the oil and we know that there is hundreds of turkish companies that operate in kurdistan and the proposed kurdish state includes the.
5:17 pm
city so is that a focal point of conversation absolutely i mean one of his threats was that he was going to shut down the pipelines those oil pipelines from the kurds side original government and starve them to death that's what the ground was threatening with but i really don't think that this is and this is a legitimate threat this is actually concluding his point of view it's not the matter of fighting against the p.k. k. it's a kurdish freedom movement in turkey so he's main target is not the p.k. here his main target is the kurdish nation in general so he's actually mentioned in believe two thousand and six or two thousand and seven even in south africa he would not let the kurds form a kurdish nation kurdish state interesting and what about the united nations i mean they were reiterating their concerns as well that this would possibly destabilize
5:18 pm
the region what are their concerns all kurds or the most reliable allies of the west especially against the fight in the fight against isis so. i find that really not very legitimate because as i said kurds have stabilized the region not only in iraq but also in syria in the fight against isis in the fight against terrorism in general and. in syria again so supporting the kurds will only stabilize the region not destabilize the region think about it so there's concern the u.s. also state department also mentioned that the main focus is to fight against isis while kurds have been fighting against isis for for years now so this has never ever affected this. in fact because of the fact that they were part of iraq they were not able to receive any heavy equipments any heavy weapons from from the
5:19 pm
quality forces directly from the quality forces it had to go through baghdad because they were not an independent state so this will fast in the process this will smooth in the fight against isis and so if this vote is recognized what does this mean for the kurds how will this change their lives that's a that's a very good question and i would like to start of by saying that kurds have been hungry for an independent state for the last hundred years at least ever since the world war one and they were divided in into four different countries and of course kurds have been very peaceful they have not really been a significant threat to their neighboring countries in fact they supported their internal problems to solve the internal problems so this will only make their life lives easier and. economically culturally because they are facing
5:20 pm
assimilation and this will definitely put an end to assimilation and other genocide and they will leave much they believe in much more peace and prosperity and if anything that your organization is dealing during this time to show support well i think it's also important to note that the representative of arizona trent franks just proposed a bill five thirty four last night of the referendum to the congress to support the rights of the kurds for independence so as the k p r c we differently support this decision this bill this resolution of representative trent franks and again we're involved to fast in this process of independence the negotiations. with baghdad with turkey and the neighboring countries interesting to see how it all plays out thank you so much for your time that's brock aid and director of outreach
5:21 pm
for the kurdish policy research center thank you. and the battle for the city for syria is not yet over but humanitarian convoys are now right here only delivering aid locals can finally get basic food they haven't seen since i saw the city children there are seen some kinds of fruit for the first time in their lives. is there with the story what these people have been through is indescribable. and. how to. stick. around and. we can hear about it we can read about it watch it but we truly understand. he made. an end as always it was the young and the elderly just that died.
5:22 pm
ok. ok let's do a. little hard to. do good news to me so now. if it wasn't hunger it was. if not that i lack of medicine but the city survived live in did is or is still far from normal but at least it will be starving to death and the more of the times when people would fight to the death the scraps of food now coming in day and night with food with medicine as well as things like vegetables fruits candies these are things that the people of the haven't seen for three years right. i don't look at the multiple of one you know any. four ninety. four no i desired
5:23 pm
a microphone was what i for syrians all know what dead as order has been through and the nation's heart goes out to its citizens even the older kids can't remember eating anything that wasn't grown locally what we. were. yet she. was. of course news that someone was giving out free banal as quickly spread at first it was a dozen children then it was dozens and dozens. of me. i was the more enthusiastic children ate the skins before realizing that something wasn't quite right well it was worth it just to see their smiles and the yasuni be
5:24 pm
a do less with cam and hundred of. us of a national and there are still plenty of challenges isis still holds a small part of the city is also reconstruction providing clean water and fuel but despite all that this is a city born again more i guess the odd see from that is on syria. izzie the fighters are joining the iraqi popular mobilization forces now surpassing one thousand and some say war is on the horizon it was just three years ago that many of the recruits escapists injure mountain when their own town was being run over by isis and soon after isis began inflating it see the women as sex slaves the un has even described the massacres of the men and sexual and slave ment of the woman as an ongoing genocide earlier i spoke with in independent journalists and
5:25 pm
asked why isis believes that is eating men must be killed and women kidnapped and forced into sex slavery. well this is a whole doctrine that isis came up with based on the fact that you. are not considered people of the book like christians and jews are you are considered. basically devil worshippers they've long been called evidence of ownership throughout their history they've been persecuted. every hundred years or so because of it they've actually undergone several drugs in the past and so under the islamic state doctrine because they considered devil worshippers they basically use that as a will to enslave their women and turn them into an economy at the end of the day that's what it was about it was about systematically turning their women into an economy and making money off of them as well as a racing is easy identity. and gene over it really and in many ways supplanting his
5:26 pm
idea to be not just a raising it but actually supplanting it with isis as a version of an identity which is why so many as the boys of of the age of seven were actually kidnapped and sent to indoctrination camps by isis where they basically were in cold catered with isis idiology. so credibly said now tell us what happened to the men who were able to get away who are they joining forces with to fight back isis. well you. these since they were attacked by ice is back in two thousand and fourteen in august. they were actually supposed to be protected by the peshmerga which is the u.s. backed kurdish militia of iraqi kurdistan but the person who actually retreated from sin jar in mass leaving his evenings defenseless against isis which is why so many of them were captured and why tens of thousands of them ended up trapped on that mountain so after the august third genocide of twenty fourteen years these
5:27 pm
began joining what ever group they could to get armed and save their women save their children save and rescue the people who were kidnapped by isis and to try and really protect themselves so that nothing like this would ever happen to them again and so since that day it is these have joined both the as well as the p.k. k. . and his e.t.s. who joined the p.k. k. back in two thousand and fourteen were actually punished by iraqi kurdistan their families are just place families were kicked out of erbil and a hook if they joined the p.k. k. or any other rival faction and then recently this year in may the p.m.s. the popular mobilization forces which is the paramilitary forces of the iraqi government that formed in the aftermath of isis taking over large swaths of iraq you see the sort of join the p.f. in droves and many of them are defecting from both the peshmerga and the p.k. k. because the p.m.s. launched
5:28 pm
a campaign to liberate are some forty percent of our was still in the hands of isis and so you see these have been joining the p.f. in droves for a couple reasons one so again like i said they can protect their areas get armed be able to save their relatives from isis but also so that they can make sure that this never happens to them again but most importantly he's used to be very pro kurdistan and they see themselves as a part of the kurdish project because the murder of retreated and left them to. listen abandon them in two thousand and fourteen they now see an alignment with the iraqi central government as the best way forward especially because they want autonomy over soon jar and so they see an alignment with the iraqi central government as the best way to basically gain local control over their area and now since your is a strategic place that both the kurdistan regional government and baghdad are seeking control over where do you see the future of send your head in since it's not seen fit for civilian return at the moment well right now some jar is split
5:29 pm
between three different factions that split between the iraqi government in the south and are it's basically in the hands of the p.m.s. . and then northern jar is split between the majority of it is in the hands of the iraqi regional iraqi kurdistan regional governments persian or go forces. and there's a small slice of it that's in the hands of the p.k. the. which is a different kurdish backed group that's like a leftist international organization. and so it's a very very tense area because sin jar is so strategic for all of these players and strategic for the iraqi kurdistan regional government because they have they basically want to increase the size of kurdistan as one of the twenty six areas that they say are disputed and belong to kurdistan and in the aftermath of isis taking over large swaths of iraq that border to what's considered iraqi kurdistan they basically made this huge land grab and took about ninety percent of these
5:30 pm
disputed territories to are included and the iraqi central government sees this area as very strategic because germs located next to the border with syria and so it's an extremely important strategic point in terms of preventing any future insurgency that may develop in that area after you know isis be defeated but that doesn't mean it's the end of the ideology or the sort of sunni extremist style insurgency that we've seen. come back really much harsher and more radical each time and have and so the iraqi central government wants to be in that area to prevent that from happening again i see and quickly we're running out of time but explain to us the notion that these edis are facing repression in kurdistan and what other minorities strongly oppose the kurdish referendum well kurdistan is it seems that you know for a lot of kurds in iraq it's something that they do support that said for the minorities who live in that area they do face discrimination and repression
5:31 pm
including izzy's and many of them live in displaced person camps in iraqi kurdistan and they're basically loyalty to the dominant party in kurdistan the a k d p their aid to getting aid is conditioned on loyalty to that political party iraqi kurdistan is basically run by a couple different family families in a very mafia style way it's not exactly a democracy and also add on top of that you know any sort of an ethnic exclusivist state is going to by default and discriminating against those who don't belong to the dominant ethnicity in the area so it's not just is edis who receive discriminatory treatment from iraqi kurdistan but you also have that for the christians over there and also sunni arab several sunni arab villages that are in the areas that are considered disputed that iraqi kurdistan wants for its kurdish state several of those sunni arab villages under the cover of fighting isis have actually been burned down or have been ethnically cleansed of sunni arabs and so
5:32 pm
the minorities in this area are experiencing a process of what they call kurdish occasion and they're not happy with it and understandably so and so that's why the you do see a lot of backlash from these minority groups however this doesn't tend to receive very much attention in the u.s. media because the u.s. is a strong supporter of kurdistan and we will have to leave it there we really appreciate your time thank you so much that independent journalist and coming up what are the accusations of discrimination at the new york police department will be right back . there's a real irony going. east oh boy i'm playing ping responsible boys need people in there it's always so that's what it's always seemed so close to the baltimore area now the wholesale surveillance you feel you have all made more elbows in into two sizes than trump has used the social media site while a always on a story goes it's garbage and real.
5:33 pm
and. what politicians do such as you can. put themselves on the line they did accept the reject. so when you want to be president i'm sure. for some one of us. to go right to the press this is like the full story of the morning can't be good. i'm interested in the audience in the house which. i should. think the average viewer just after watching a couple of segments understands that we're telling stories that are critics can't tell and you know why because their advertisers lead them. in order to create
5:34 pm
change you have to be honest you have to tell the truth parties able to do that every story is built on going after the back story to what's really happening out there to the american what's happening when a corporation makes a pharmaceutical victuals people when a company in the environmental business ends up polluting a river that causes cancer and other illnesses they put all the health risk all the dangers out to the american public those are stories that we tell every week and you know what they're working. the co-chair and leading figure of the alternative for germany party frock patriot has resigned amid a split within the party and it comes right after the group secured seats in the german parliament for the first time in its history r t correspondent peter oliver
5:35 pm
has the details. petry has stunned alternative for germany and all of those watching german politics by announcing that she will step down and leave the party this follows an historic victory for the for the a.f.p. as they took their first seat in the boat in the stock in sunday's federal elections now the announcement that she will leave the party follows a straught but sweet statement on monday that she would not sit with a fifty members in parliament. we want to create real police see and that's a long consideration i decided not to be a member of the parliamentary group in the understocked i would like to ask you three understanding i will not answer any questions on this for petrie had been the face of alternative for germany since she took over the lead of the party from burned luka who she helped oust and they elect of sorts within the party a few years ago and she had pushed a more moderate view for the party certainly
5:36 pm
a right wing view but far more moderate than say the likes of alexander golland or others who are idle who were running as the candidates for chancellor the special candidates as they're called in this most recent election we can see what it comes to t.v. appearances certainly prokop petry far more composed at times than some of those that will remain in leadership in alternative to germany. and find a study colleague i don't think you had. and. thank you it does seem that the relationship though between petrie and others at the top of the party has become well frankly toxic we heard from vital saying that herself and alex on the gallant haven't spoken to approach in this month this is as they were fighting
5:37 pm
a campaign election campaign. well lots of opposition who are trying to study the five more this is existing goes on for so long it was clear i hated some point and it seems that the. post-election picture is not the only one who's going to. do is down three others including her husband all right so every week and then a very influential figure in the policy will also leave as well the question that's been left is did jump one of the pushed. announce new york where the department the police department is facing scrutiny following allegations of systematic discrimination. chavez has the story they had why people based on some serious charges from texas who worked in their intelligence unit in a lawsuit filed earlier this week that detectives claim that they were victims of discrimination when it came to promotions and assignments a group of black detectives in the n.y.p.d.
5:38 pm
intelligence division filed a federal lawsuit against the department saying they were denied promotions because of their race the detectives claim that despite their history of solid investigative work recommendations from their supervisors and their outstanding performance reviews they say that they were passed over for promotions and they claim the unit's bosses systematically discriminated against them while promoting less qualified and less experienced white detectives. police department officials say a review of a ten year period showed the opposite the detectives filed a complaint with the u.s. equal employment opportunity commission back in two thousand and eleven which found in twenty sixteen that black detectives generally quote received lesser and later opportunities for promotion consistent with their qualifications and why p.t. officials say that they have been aware of the allegations for quite some time in a statement to r.t. peter donald the n.y.p.d. assistant commissioner said quote following the e.e.o.c. is investigation the n.y.p.d.
5:39 pm
presented information on promotion. and diversity within the intelligence bureau to the department of justice after review of this d.o.j. declined to pursue the case donald also added that in a recent review of the ten year period which included the time frame that this litigation and heard the show that black third rate officers within the intelligence unit actually received promotions at a faster pace than their colleagues reporting in new york trinity job as our. attorney general jeff sessions addressed an audience at the georgetown university law school center for the constitution today well during his speech sessions said the department of justice will take a stand for groups and individuals who sue colleges when they feel their right to freedom of speech has been violated. starting today the department of justice will do its part in this work we will enforce federal law then the free speech and protect students free expression from one error in the spectrum it may
5:40 pm
come this comes after almost one hundred georgetown university students and faculty members gathered to protest a speech on the steps of mcdonough hume hall this morning georgetown law professor heidi feldman was one of an estimated forty faculty and staff participating in the protest or she denounced the speech saying quote a law school is a place for people to learn about the deepest principles that undergird our democratic republic you cannot invite people who so there really threaten the basic premises of american law to a campus and not speak if your mission in life is to educate people about the american legal system but what u.s. army intelligence analyst chelsea manny has been denied entry into canada on the grounds that she has a criminal record in the us this is going to not let manning into the country is causing some controversy north of the border but according to canada's public safety minister he maintains his faith in the decision of his border agents artie's
5:41 pm
alex mahila which has more in toronto. chelsea manning might be a villain to some a hero to others but when it comes to crossing the canadian border and not so fast manning as most of us know release about seven hundred thousand documents that were classified documents a few years back it was a largest breach of classified information in u.s. history and with that that was a criminal offense manning was arrested in two thousand and ten and convicted in court martial by court martial in two thousand and thirteen of espionage theft computer fraud and illegally disclosing classified government information she was acquitted on the most serious charge what was aiding the enemy now she was granted clemency by obama but that doesn't mean that canadians are just going to let a criminal in with open arms and when i say criminal anybody that has a criminal record in from the states especially when we're looking at each other look at the scan of the state if you have a dui the state will be very difficult for you to get into canada and vice
5:42 pm
a versa if you have a criminal offense of any kind of one of the two countries part of that punishment is going to be difficult to cross the border now chelsea manning has spoken up she actually tweeted out a couple of occasions in the past couple of days she's saying that she's barred from canada as a criminal in the u.s. so i guess canada has permanently barred me denied entry because of conviction similar to treason offense will be challenging denial of entry to canada admissibility here in the future now the document that she actually tweeted says the twenty nine year old chelsea manning who used to be bradley manning we know that she's transgender that she wasn't allowed into the country through quebec on the september twenty second she informed the border agent of her two thousand and thirteen conviction and the border agent as they do will not let somebody into the country with a conviction it's just the way things go people know it's not they against chelsea manning personally if the way that our border works both ways now our minister here in canada the public safety breath good all said that he won't comment on the
5:43 pm
border guard say. we're not allowing chelsea manning in because the border guard did their job now good all could in the coming days if he does hear that chelsea manning is actually going to be making comments about this and trying to move this process forward of coming to canada he has the ability to lift any ban and to allow chelsea manning into the country so we'll see if that actually turns out to be that way for prime minister trudeau at this point he hasn't commented on the issue at all he's staying mum and chelsea manning i mean as many people as can of that would like to see her here the fact of the power is the law's the law and as it stands right now chelsea manning is barred from canada back to you well it's been less than a week that facebook agreed to turn copies of the three thousand or so political ads that it had inadvertently sold to a so-called russia linked group over congressional investigators well the claim is the ads intense were focused on meddling in some way with the two thousand and

sixteen presidential election however a leaked descriptions of the ads derail any such conclusion or to explain what this actually means let's turn to legal and media analyst. on media so first off lionel are you even surprised about this being leaked and what is facebook alleging exactly that these russian linked groups have done well no nothing surprises me as far as being leaked and as far as what is it that's being alleged i haven't the foggiest idea i've read every conceivable permutation of this story today from every news source you could imagine i did same's follow me that tasha but a group of russians rush shouldn't lete linked russian based. people who are russian people in russia people who speak russian i don't know but russians

bought apparently about three thousand ads not la is not slam pieces nothing against trump or hillary clinton per se but are you ready for this story that stoked controversy that delta with controversial subjects which may have indeed polarized. alarmed incensed a galvanized voter opinion regarding topics kind of like what we're doing here it's called the new so it seems that it works like this you put out a headline that says rush air connected to the fake facebook ads with the intention of affecting the election that's on day one day seven eight nine ten goes by and then e.r. will get to that eventually the theme and the import is in the initial headline now
5:46 pm
right now mr moeller robert muller and his team are going to be reviewing this so far we don't know what these ads are we get kind of. adumbration reviews of them we're not really sure exactly what's in them but suffice it to say that these ads are some carefully dealt was subjects of controversy oh no i don't know how that's different than other media as you said and i want to talk to you about collusion so what if our facebook censoring content that supported trump during the campaign or other censoring that it has so is that collusion for the clinton campaign and can facebook just blame things on algorithms when it's convenient here. absolutely absolutely collusion is in the eye of the beholder and the colluder and also it goes to show you the people or those who might not be
5:47 pm
satisfied with the official explanation that's given there is no crime called collusion and fact if you look at facebook does facebook really want to go up or be a hold itself up to scrutiny from those individuals who ask whether it would have a particular agenda as far as filtering certain news stories one way or another i don't know but what we're doing is we're using colluding. that rush somehow one ted had an impact on wanted to effect wanted to was interested in and these all kind of merging meld together giving i say with all due respect the rather uninformed public the idea that there is this thing called collusion and more importantly that the idea that russia is or the country or russians would have an interest now think about this would have an interest and who would be
5:48 pm
the president of the united states there isn't a human being on the planet who doesn't have an interest and who this superpower ultimately elex when you break this down and deceptive and peel back the layers of this absurd onion you're finding my god what are we talking about and that has been the theme of this from the beginning because to date that sasha to date we have not seen one bit of evidence one scintilla that shows in any way how actual carm was done how voters were stolen how the election was changed how the directions were nothing just collusion i have to wait and see what happens that thank you so much legal and media analyst. appreciate your insight as always thank you and i'll be right back with more on our team america stay with us

slum. will go deeper investigate and debate all so you can get the big picture. jimmy kimmel has been using his role as a late night comedy talk show host to push obamacare as moral and righteous and it was just revealed that he's had a little help in his new crusade according to a new report from the daily beast kimmel's been in touch with some politicians and advocacy groups on the issue including none other than democratic senator chuck schumer multiple sources told the news outlet that schumer provided technical guidance and info about the bill as well as the stats from various think tanks and

experts on the effects of the g.o.p.'s recent attempt at health care reform the graham cassidy bill so kimmel has been pushing what the democrats want using information he got directly from them there's no evidence that kimmel met with any supporters of the bill to hear the other side if there is no evidence that chemical has had any direct personal experience with obamacare the health care bill he seems to love and think is so great there is no evidence of kimmel having any sort of expertise in the area of health care at all in fact one might argue that he has no idea what he's talking about in terms of what obamacare does or what other health care solutions might do other than what chuck schumer and other left leaning organizations have told him now i'm not saying jimmy kimmel's got some sort of evil of gender in fact i think he's just trying to be compassionate and helpful even though he's doing so in an area in which he has no expertise i think he just

genuinely wants to help people and having a son who needed special health care kind of freaked him out i'm just saying kimmel is an extremely rich guy who has no idea what it's like to not be able to afford health care and so maybe he should think this one out and do what he's actually paid to do which is make people laugh i mean he was the host of the man show he had a regular segment called girls jumping on trembling and now he thinks he's an expert on obamacare even though it took health care. bridge away from a lot of people including myself who lost access to my doctors and can no longer afford preventive care even though i pay twelve grand a year in premiums that have a fifty eight hundred dollars deductible kamal doesn't know that normally ever know what it feels like maybe he thinks i should just jump on the trampoline and that will suffice for my health care either way it just proves once again how one sided and deep the d.c. hollywood connection is and what

guys i made a professional is powerpoint to show you how artsy america fits into the greater media landscape is not all left or all right but we are a solid alternative to the bullshit we don't skew liberal or conservative and as you can see that is bar graph we'll it skew the facts either talking head lefties talking at righties oh there you go above it all to look at world art the americans in the spotlight down every lead might have no idea how to classify as and it actually took me way more time than i care to admit. most people think just stand out in this business you need to be the first one on top of the story or the person with the loudest voice of the biggest street in truth to stand out of the news business you just need as the right questions and demand the right answer. questions.
