4:01 pm
clothes though it is wednesday october twenty fifth four pm in washington d.c. i'm on your part phil you're watching our team america we start this afternoon with a revelation about the now famous dossier on donald trump and its true origin the hillary clinton campaign and the d.n.c. helped fund the research on trunk which contained allegations of russian connections to the trunk campaign artie's ed schultz has one story. the dust ca was produced by former british intelligence officer christopher steele he was sub contracted and hired by fusion g.p.s. after fusion g.p.s. was hired by clinton campaign lawyer mark elias according to thor hall percent from the human rights foundation fusion g.p.s. is a smear firm hired to politically destroy people all recent claims he was targeted by fusion for work he did in venezuela under cover in corruption. the truth dossier funded by the clinton campaign in the d.n.c.
4:02 pm
contains salacious details about trump and his alleged connections to russia obviously a lot of the allegations within the dossier go to issues of either. coordination or collusion between the time campaign and the russians or the issue of potentially compromising material those general issues are very much within the scope of our investigation the mainstream media accused russian president vladimir putin and russian intelligence of having information on trump that would jeopardize national security and put trump in an uncompromising position even possible blackmail the kremlin consistently denied being involved in the dossier saying they had nothing to do with it did you go to the people who ordered these fake news stories like the ones that are circulating about the president elect fabricate them and use them for political means they are worse than prostitutes the da ca became part of the narrative used by the democrats claiming russian collusion the dossier also helped
4:03 pm
fuel the current investigations into russian meddling in the election trump fought back calling the dossier a fake news and even called out the networks and tonight calling the clinton funding of the dossier a disgrace they did it in. a . new york. she heard it over the years. in the studio and they gave. me the. g.p.s. bank records under subpoena from house intelligence chairman deborah newness show the connection between the firm in the clinton campaign of the d.n.c. ed schultz reporting for r.t. america for his insight i spoke earlier with former u.s. diplomat jim jatra i first asked him if he was surprised to learn who's responsible
4:04 pm
for the dirty dossier. in fact i think trump has been asking that question who paid for this thing and it's one that seems that nobody in the media harping on that these various collusion stories was much interested not only that the democrats had only paid fusion g.p.s. to get the thing out of circulation but i also wonder who's this unnamed republican who supposedly paid mr steele for the procreation of the dossier in the first place many questions though it's not necessarily surprising the d.n.c. in the clinton campaign would engage in this sort of awful research is the kind of thing you'd expect either side of a political race to do what i find interesting is the way the mainstream media really held onto it and according to a british lawsuit filed against christopher a steele. who was tasked of course put the putting this dossier together it states that a journalist from the new york times the washington post yahoo news and the new yorker c.n.n. were all briefed by steele in person in september twenty sixth seen again in mid
4:05 pm
october of that year in each of those cases it says the briefing was conducted a verbal e. in person no copies of the pre-election memorandum meaning this dossier were ever shown or provided to any journalist what does that mean to you would be first of all they want to thing your prints on the media and whatever they're doing that we're all real are looking at some kind of a collusion between these you know this is the very definition of the mainstream media here if they were real journalists asking real questions the first question would be ok who paid for this who's been. minded obviously they didn't press on that question because they themselves are part of the democratic machine they'd they looked at this as potentially a game changer a gift on behalf of their preferred candidate they're not going to ask those hard questions now do they merely run out and spread the story around no they waited till buzz feed broke the story and then they can secondarily report that as news but i think it goes to show a kind of a collusion that's why look at gift horse in the mouth. a lot of this information is very confusing for viewers to keep track of fusing g.p.s.
4:06 pm
. christopher steele names people can't necessarily place but what do you think is the most important takeaway from this story in a way that's digestible to viewers i think the most tell you take away a bush supporter take away from the stories that somebody was willing to concoct something about a candidate in a race put it out in circulation with money that's not this is closed i mean talk about it in kind contribution to political campaigns at the f.e.c. should be all over the place and i think it does implicate some of these media outlets i think that if we talk about corruption of our system that is is who who is behind it you know what's interesting to me is that somehow still the russians are behind this if you look at say at fox they've been saying and this shows that the russians were behind this derogatory false denunciation of total trump and as far as i can tell there's no russian thing or prints on this thing at all it's by whoever this republican was who paid for the preparation of the dossier and the
4:07 pm
d.n.c. and former chair debbie wasserman schultz who are behind trying to get the thing in circulation i'm glad you brought up fox because you and i were speaking just a few minutes before this interview just discussing the fact that it seems very easy for both sides of the political debate even the side that's loyal to president trump to use russia as a talking point to throw against the other side and still use russia to still demonize russia at least so what does that say about. collision to begin with is it believable that the russians would have ever seen you know the trump campaign as a viable option i don't know if the russians saw the trumpet campaign as a viable option during the campaign he said many times he wanted to prove relations and maybe somehow the russians had this crazy idea we have a democracy in this country and when somebody runs on a platform he might actually do the things he says and maybe a want to do them what's interesting about this latest twist is and not just the the the dossier it's also the uranium one thing and also the indication that maybe
4:08 pm
the protests to brothers are under investigation now that the whole collusion story seems to be backfiring on the democrats but nonetheless it's really all russia that's at fault it's simply proves the democratic case the russians are subverting our democracy interfering in our political system it's just that which side they might have been supporting or how they would have been trying to mess up our democracy has shifted somewhat through these stories are we witnessing the end russia gate or in just a more complicated version that ends up reflecting on our how hollow an empty system i think the latter i think the the evidence free inquiry into russian collusion with the republican campaign which is now sort of morphed into a sort of a genetic russian disruption of our democracy by supporting anti fracking groups and black lives matter but as we know bloody mayor putin is really the tinfoil hat leader of the all right international racist. white power movement and you know
4:09 pm
it's so bizarre in fantasy land that's being painted out there i think they will continue with those various probes into the nonexistent russian collusion now if the republicans actually start acting that they run congress rather than the democrats or maybe they will look into some of these other things which also by the way is a backdoor way back into the hillary clinton e-mail scandal as well seems like it might never end so we'll keep talking about it here jim to address former us thank you and i appreciate your time. now to new york city where the board of elections has admitted to illegally purging more than two hundred thousand voters from the rolls attorney general eric schneiderman released a statement saying the board of elections for new york city will be required to fully overhaul their procedures and submit to close supervision this comes a draft consent decree announced yesterday nearly a year after the board faced a lawsuit in federal court for violating the national voter registration act and state election law while earlier this year both the justice department and new york

state attorney general made motions to join the lawsuit. here in washington d.c. this morning the house subcommittee on oversight held a hearing to assess the potential risks cast bearskin lab products could pose to federal government information technology systems u.s. officials allege the antivirus software automatically compiled powerful digital tuner balan's tools off a computer in the united states and said some disservice in moscow according to a press release from cas bursty lab the russian cyber security giant upload a suspected n.s.a. code from a zip file containing malware samples detected by the company's antivirus software however during a brief phone interview tuesday eugene kasper ski said he personally ordered for any classified documents to be immediately deleted. coming up on our team trying to stand on the iran deal could have something to do with his protecting of u.s. allies in the middle east after the break. mark twain said

it's easier to homeschool people than to mince them they've been fools that could be why america is so divided because people have been so bad fake news feed for by corporate interests they beat you down until you see leave their fairy tales well here's a story for it's called big and it's full of bad fiction. what politicians do you should. put themselves on the line they get accepted or rejected . so when you want to express it. was something i wanted. to do i'd be first to see what the real people are. interested in the why. should.
4:12 pm
i think the average viewer just after watching a couple of segments understands that we're telling stories that are critics can't tell and you know why because their advertisers won't let them. in order to create change you have to be honest you have to tell the truth parties able to do that every story is built on going after the back story to what's really happening out there to the american what's happening when a corporation makes a pharmaceutical victuals people when a company in the environmental business ends up polluting a river that causes cancer and other. illnesses they put all the you know risk all the dangers out to the american public those are stories that we tell every week and you know want their working.
4:13 pm
welcome back to our team erica turning now to the middle east where rebels from trends are rocking of the iran deal both are still reverberating throughout the region joining me now to discuss is investigative journalist gareth porter his latest article in the american conservative is titled trump trashes iran deal to satisfy him that now who care thanks for being here thanks so it's been a couple of weeks since trump gave his dramatic statements on the iran deal are we really going to see it destroyed at the hands of president trump well i think it's suffered a serious blow from the trump white house decision making process here. you know it's possible that there's still some byplay here between the europeans the u.k. france and germany on one hand and the iranians but they're going to be subject to
4:14 pm
a lot of pressure from the u.s. government particularly financial pressure to get them to go along with continued sanctions it's hard to say how that's going to play out but certainly on the u.s. side trump was very clear we're going to demand the real revision renegotiation of some key things an additional at least one major additional provision that has to do with iranian ballistic missiles and of course that's simply not going to happen i mean we know that the iranians will never agree to renegotiate such fundamental issues politically it's impossible for them in any case and as a matter of principle they could do it and he said if they if the iranians don't go along with this if the u.s. congress and our allies don't arrange the. this the united states is going to exit from the agreement so it looks to me like the future of the iran nuclear
4:15 pm
deal is not looking very good at this point it also looks to judging from your piece that this policy is a victory of some sort of foreign influence over president trump cracked well exactly you know it's very clear that he made this decision after speaking with netanyahu in september. israeli prime minister has really prime minister benjamin netanyahu up to that point he appeared to be still subject to a parent consensus within his own set of advisers national security advisers to bring about a kind of a compromise which would continue to have the way in existence have the united states be part of it. and he seems to have reversed course very late in the game after meeting with netanyahu and very clearly netanyahu had laid down the law we want the united states to either get revisions that we demand or get out
4:16 pm
and that's exactly he actually announced both he said we'll get the revisions we don't through visions we'll get out and we know that this happened immediately after john bolton had called him. just before the speech we know that bolton had been meeting with sheldon adelson in las vegas when he called the president in the oval office and gave him language that he apparently used in his final speech laying out the idea that if we don't get revisions we want we will not be part of the agreement john bolton being president bush as a u.n. ambassador one of the most notorious war hawks in washington gary something you and i have talked about many times is this situation in syria were it seems the u.s. goal for. israeli objective to remove president assad from power is impossible now the free syrian army which the us backed to achieve this goal is now on the record
4:17 pm
as saying they would have won if not for iran that's according to a recent report does that have something to do with the us frustrated towards the country well i don't think it's really about us frustration i think it could be israeli frustration because of the outcome in syria which is obviously a great disappointment to the israelis. but i do think that the real problem for the israelis is that they wanted all along that the u.s. government should have a military confrontation with iran and if possible get the united states to fight a war to carry out a airstrikes against iran that would whittle iran's power down to a much lower level that's that's been the israeli objective for many many years now and you know they didn't get it. under bush the u.s. pentagon the military cost cheney's efforts to bring that about they didn't get it obviously under obama but now they have hopes that possibly the way this plays out
4:18 pm
could could help them move back towards that object with about thirty seconds left trump kept everyone guessing about what he was going to do with respect to the iran deal and do you think he even knew himself what he was going to do into the last minute really this is now this is really the big question mark it does seem that trump has this quality is a decision maker that he changes his mind a lot and so it may be that some of his advisors thought they had him on board with a much more so shall we say moderate approach to iran policy and that nevertheless after having met with netanyahu and hearing from john bolton and gerrard cushion or who of course is whose family is very strongly supportive of the right wing likud just policy in israel he changed his mind once again all right we'll have to leave it there unfortunately though you are always super informative

in exchange for five taliban prisoners at guantanamo bay. cuban officials investigating the u.s. claims of sonic attacks on diplomats and have and now call those attacks quote science fiction and or accusing washington of slander just last week president trump said he believed to be on i was responsible for twenty four u.s. diplomats being harmed from acoustic strikes washington recalled more than half the u.s. diplomatic personnel from havana and expelled fifteen cuban diplomats earlier in october cuba deployed two thousand security officials and experts to investigate so far the investigation failed on cover any evidence to prove trumps claims one of cuba's leading investigators lieutenant colonel roberto arnaz said quote we have not been able to prove the incident exists nor how we've been able to prove the sounds we have analyzed damage human health so far there has been no immediate comment from the white house or the u.s.

department of state. the end of lease c.p.a. issued a travel warning for african-americans traveling on american airlines the civil rights organization a series of incidents it says proves the airline routinely subjects african-americans to quote disrespectful discriminatory or unsafe conditions as r.d.s. actually banks explains the and that it had no choice but to issue the advisory b.m.w. c.p.s. cited some incidents in which it believes american airlines wrongfully targeted african-american customers for example before a flight was scheduled to leave from washington d.c. to rally north carolina a black man was asked to give up his purchased seat after he allegedly responded to discriminate tory comments from two white passengers and another case a black woman booked two first class tickets for her and her companion who was white allegedly at some point her ticket was switched to coach while her partner was allowed to stay in a first class and

on the show the view recently they were talking about the harvey weinstein scandal and how famous people are reacting when host joy behar actually said that people shouldn't be attacking comedians right now that was brought up about how rose mcgowan was going after james corden and joy took offense to that saying i don't really think it's appropriate for people to be attacking comedians i mean we're on the right side of things and then she actually said we're important people right now oh god the comedians are on the right side of things implying there's a wrong side so james courtney a comedian famous for singing karaoke in a car with hollywood insiders and the most overplayed an original gag ever if you
4:26 pm
ask me made raby jokes about someone and they had defended him because he's a famous comedian so he must be on the right side of things and important so you know i wonder how bay has going to feel about another right important comedian who is now coming into his own sexual assault scandal louis c.k. he is the comedian who is that and conan o'brien's couch a few days before the election last year and said if you vote for hillary you're a grown up if you vote for trump you're a sucker if you don't vote for anyone you're in a hole so clearly louis c.k. is on the right side of things too right joy i mean he called the majority of american suckers the nails for not voting for hillary so clearly he must be on the right side but now it turns out that louis c.k. also reportedly likes to force women to watch him masturbate and he just made a movie called i love you daddy which jokes profusely about sexual assault in hollywood and pedophilia it's basically an ode to woody allen the guy who married
4:27 pm
his daughter in the movie louie actually uses the line. never judge anybody on their private life and everyone's a pervert to kind of excuse sexual assault so now i wonder if they are will now uphold louis c.k. as important and right to. list them i agree we need comedy more than ever right now comedy is so important but nothing james corden has ever done has made me laugh and louis c.k. made me want to vomit when he self righteously told america who to vote for so maybe what we need to do is not just uphold the comedian's howley what is deemed important and find some new ones preferably one thing that could actually be seen as being on the wrong side of things to me that kind of comedy the kind that challenges the norms instead of just echoes them is the most important of all.
