it's going to people was pushed of the other evidence it is clear that there was no incident chremes it doesn't prove i want to. give them some time for. your money could be on track for the same coalition government before september elections the three way talks with other parties. police in the french port city of cali voiced concern over a surge in migrant related crime more than a year after the closure of the notorious jungle. by you see. here police officers are more than fed up i cannot remember times when so many callers came to me to say that he wanted to leave the police. around the clock across the world this is r.t. international from the team myself you know me

a welcome to the program the five more russian are being given lifetime bombs from the winter olympics brings the total number of the squad of five athletes to ninety the decision was made after retesting doping samples from the twenty four games based on the findings of the mclaren report it also accused russia of state sponsored doping there is still the possibility of entire russian team could be barred from competing in south korea next february but the head of the ethics committee of another global sporting body. told us he doesn't believe there is sufficient evidence of state involvement to justify such a move. we have a mclaren report and we have in the mclaren part allegations. we need a real clear evidence. and only with an evidence i can make a decision banned or not banned but only for let's say very valid circumstances i
5:02 pm
never would ban anybody. i wouldn't do that. well in terms of state sponsored doping rushes all with the night those allegations in the mclaren report also investigations into individuals are continuing the international olympic committee says it will release the evidence against the banned athletes into course my colleague under former discussion with jacqueline vega. well the problems really circle around the fact that ever since the mclaren report came out in two thousand and sixteen with allegations of state sponsored doping in russia different monitoring organizations have looked into that searching for some sort of evidence to back up those claims but all we've seen is a noticeable lack of proof to back them up that we spoke with the water president who says well it hasn't been found yet it's just a matter of time let's take a listen keep shaking because it was news to each one should guilty and the other most of the other a bit inch inch clearance. with no incident teams that doesn't prove you know want
5:03 pm
to. give them some time so there we have him conceding that it's just been hinted at the idea that a state sponsor scheme was in place and saying just give us time but the question is how much time do they need and those band l. plates have actually voiced concerns that there's a possibility that a political motivation could be behind these decisions and again going back to the water present he conceded that it's impossible to divide the worlds of politics and sports. seemed to me to be a sign of additional you've played golf from the start of the shield to me to be unlikely that politics should stop at one o'clock and start again you want to finish it five o'clock the politics rules everybody's life savannah so they are to be involved in some way in trying to flee everything we do in school to spark up what we do so this point we're only three months out from the next winter olympics and it's important to remember that the whole russian team is under review at this point on the summer fit it will be announced whether or not they will be able to
5:04 pm
participate in next year's games in south korea and even if the team is clear there still the fact that over a dozen of the teammates have been banned for life at this point and will not be participating just over a couple of months until those games start russian footballers are also getting caught up in the doping scandal just six months before their country hosts the world cup of course grigori road chain called the former russian official turned whistleblower says he has plenty of evidence of players doping however if investigation has been going since june this year on the footballing body itself so yes there is no evidence of any wrongdoing. well sports journalist alan moore thinks the new allegations are an attempt to discredit the world cup and russian. i think that six months later it will be very very unlike you simply were torn up we probably will see more of this because this is making a lot of noise to take away from the russian world there is still
5:05 pm
a chance in their minds that the restrict from russia there could of course be a chance that somebody will fail simply at this stage it looks very unlikely russian football has been tested. in seville could we scored three to players or take take a random testing. random testing is taking place around the ocean premier league of course can always be better we no doubt but it's as good as it is anywhere else in the world better and in most cases so. this is just time to sort of like you know take care of rushes sales shall we say before friday. all thirty two nations who will participate at the twenty first fifa world cup are known but who will be playing against in the group stages will be decided at the drop in moscow this friday the first of december prior to not fifa president yani infantino shared his thoughts on sport's biggest showpiece a bent coming to the world's biggest country we are expecting smooth operations everything has been done for the fans to come to russia and to and to enjoy the
5:06 pm
world cup for instance a new concept with a fan ideas being put in place by the russian authorities or by the russian government fan idea which will allow visa free entry which will allow free transportation by train between the host cities and many other benefits for the fans we have already seen that the stadiums the stadiums and eleven host it is absolutely state of the art that they were in tears are very welcoming the country is welcoming the people want to see people from all over the world to come and discover that maybe they don't know and they will be very very positively surprised .

the northern french port city of kelly witnessed two violent incidents involving people smugglers and migrants on saturday here's no police officer describe the event. sold us one vehicle approaching a traffic check by c.r.s. police went through the roadblock he then knocked down a police officer who was trying to stop him a fox it was my colleague shot at him because you know nine people were on the vehicle including one smuggler in another incident and also cation so i was between migrants and smuggling smugglers opened fire on migrants injuring one seriously but a good egg. during the migrant crisis kali experienced a huge buildup of migrants the jungle camp where many gathered became notorious it was used as a base by people hoping to travel to britain the camp was then demolished last year .
5:08 pm
5:09 pm
colleagues came to me to say that they wanted to leave the police for me it's shocking but keep it up with shocking because i do not feel they're motivated any more but they're stuck between a rock and a hard place ministration the legal system and citizens they do not know any more where they are going to don't know any more. we also spoke with the deputy mayor of cali about the weekend's events of the migrant link crime that still persists he thinks the government should provide more support in dealing with migrants and in fact deport those who commit offenses it is unbelievable after all the problems we've. in the past. the government is not taking more action against those people. and that is really only realistic it's a bit away from the city center but it could happen to the city center why is the government not acting more strongly against those people if somebody's
5:10 pm
illegal in the country. even if he's young if an offense is done a serious offense is done most be sent back to his country we also got the thoughts of human rights advocate keith best he thinks that demolishing the cali migrant camp is just worsen the situation there. destroying the jungle taking away the original refugee camp which you may remember was there some years ago in san got itself to run by the red cross those don't help they only exacerbate the situation it's the fact that least we're stopping many of those refugees getting to hand out of food for example that just makes the situation worse it's a very very complicated situation i mean first of all i think any right minded person would have every sympathy revote truck drivers of many different
5:11 pm
nationalities having their windscreen smashed their tires slashed and who are being intimidated by these desperate people who want to get on board their trucks in order to stand a chance of getting to the u.k. and. the german chancellor and her party's leaders have said they would be willing to return to the same call ition that govern the country before september's vote. we are ready to engage in talks with the social democrats in a serious dedicated manner in our schools aiming for success. following that invitation from chancellor merkel schultz of the social democrats accepted and said that his party would take part in coalition talks with representatives of angle of merkel's christian union and the german president frank bowker steinmeyer in berlin on thursday for mr schultz this announcement but it represents
5:12 pm
a real one hundred eighty degree turnaround on how he views the grand coalition just a week ago and you know we're not entering a grand coalition we said this clearly after the elections and we still stand by this. time for shut out the s.p.d. party has confirmed that i should accept the invitation from the german president to take part in took with the chairman of the c.d.u. c.s.u. passes next thursday somebody far more insightful than myself once said that i think was a long time in politics and it certainly does seem to be true for angle and merkel as well seven days ago she was picking up the pieces after jamaica coalition talks broke down she said looking at the two options that would look like the only ones available to you were a minority rule or new elections that you would actually prefer new elections over ruling over a minority government well she has changed her mind on that somewhat saying that it
5:13 pm
wasn't a good idea right now to put the decision on who would govern germany back to the german people that they'd already made their minds up back in september and it was up to the politicians to try and hammer out a coalition so where are we right now two months on from the general election in germany lots of late nights lots of debates lots of of talks fail porks and more talks on the horizon. and as it stands at the moment it looks like we could be going right back to the grand coalition that ruled germany before but you have people voted back in september those talks taking place in berlin on thursday i'll be back in the german capital and then bring you all of the latest in a mage's coalition talks here on out. we also heard from the million cry from the alternative for germany party he believes chancellor merkel is desperate to hang on to power what ever the cost. when you look closely you can see
5:14 pm
that it's based that she has destroyed all possible. possible opponents will and. so she is completely completely lost touch into the public and to the public she's just trying to manage the horror and she will sign every contract with the social democrats to remain in office if you look at the results that we have the fact that in two thousand and thirteen to gradually reached sixty seven percent and in two thousand and seventeen it's a fifty it's down to fifty three so. there is a decreasing trust induced parties. and if they try to get it all do they have. this decrease in trust will continue. the u.s. side korea will conduct a major joint military exercise near the north korean border next week russia has
5:15 pm
voiced concerns over the drills which will involve around twelve thousand american soldiers who is in seoul with the latest on the tensions what has been donald trump's approach to sorting out the north korea crisis in a nutshell all options remain on the table second option not a preferred option they will be met with fire and fury do not underestimate us and do not try as the distance from here to the border with north korea is only about forty kilometers and once you end up in seoul which is well in the firing range of kim's artillery you can't help looking at that rhetoric from a different perspective especially if there is what you'd call a totally different approach. there's absolutely no alternative to dialogue with them but in order to start the dialogue everyone has to start with those take a deep breath and step back from the. red wine which will buy stuff so why can we
5:16 pm
hope that the only option according to moscow will prevail well the south korean capital is hosting a russian valdai discussion club conference where local officials and experts have gathered to hear what the russian diplomats and researchers have come up with so russia's been saying hey we've got a plan step one north korea should completely halt its missile and nuclear tests for the u.s. that means and ends to almost nonstop war games with seoul moscow calls it a double freeze step too might be very tough direct talks between washington and pyongyang on rules of peaceful coexistence and finally they should lead to step three establishing a security framework for the entire region with every player involved. the doors are closed for the main session and one of the south korean officials who is taking
5:17 pm
part is the president's advisor for foreign policy. what do you think about the russian road map i think that the proposal is very realistic flexible i hope you. and your cage in the pentagon winter olympic all the parties concerned between particularly between nelson selves who do come up with the most at risk rest reining behavior do you think it's enough in this case of course not enough in the day should be some new initiative to create and sustain peace in the imperishable donald trump keeps saying that all options are on the table north korean knew that the military option it's always under the table. by putting the military option and on the table. it's not like we change you know screen behavior as the advisor of the south korean
5:18 pm
president what do you tell them about the drills you know you know i personally in the favor engagement dialogue and negotiation with north korea and some people in the government may have different ideas that brings us to why the russian road map may never actually work. because i think most korean politicians believe the trills must be pursued for a defense of two now we're not canceling us korean exercises we just want to postpone for the olympics. others openly reject moscow's plan like the neighbors in tokyo who simply can't imagine security without the drills with their allies so for now south koreans have no other choice but to welcome us raptors and co for the vigilance a school gates oh that's just a few days anyway for those who live in seoul or who are here to talk about keeping the peace in korea that's something to bear in mind. be it for war games or real strikes that would put millions of lives at risk the decision to send let's say
5:19 pm
warplanes to the korean skies may depend on one single man miles and miles away on the other side of the pacific. well for some insight into the story we can bring in eric surat can co-founder of lawyers for peace and demilitarization in korea hi there eric later this week just not talk about the drills in the region later this week the u.s. state of hawaii will begin testing a warning siren to prepare for the possibility of nuclear attack what do you read into about. this is something we've lived with for many decades when there was this standoff between the u.s. and the soviet union we lived with that notion of can we preparing for nuclear war and that's the fallacy that i think is behind that type of argument when you begin
5:20 pm
to believe that you can prepare for it and some hawaii officials have said you know go underground for two weeks and then come out have enough food for that when you start to believe that you can survive a nuclear war we begin to open the door that nuclear war is possible and that's the danger in beginning to preparing for it as if it's something that survivable and so consequently it stirs up a lot of anger it creates people having more fear but it also potentially brings us closer to a state of war because officials begin to believe that survival of a nuclear war is possible so as we were talking about the u.s. korea will be holding large scale military drills near the north korean border starting i believe in the fourth of december although there have been no nuclear tests or missed silo launches since september from the north what do you think is
5:21 pm
the purpose all of these exercises in that case. well it's always been something that's gone on by the u.s. and now it's become a pride issue almost but that unfortunately puts us in a very precarious situation i mean you have to recognize that there are going to be over two hundred thirty aircraft including six or seven stealth arab bombers participating at this time the u.s.s. mississippi a nuclear powered submarine has just arrived you island in the south of south korea you have these situations going on planes fire firing mock shots flying through the air at a time in which there is this standoff and this misunderstanding and lack of communication creates a very volatile situation it may be seem somehow as intimidating but these have
5:22 pm
never worked and the best thing to do is to follow the russian proposal the proposal that anyone who cares about peace in the region is putting forth right now is that these military options are not realistic and you need to sit down at the table and when they do those exercises something could be mistaken as invasion something could be mistaken as live tags and such and so we put the millions and millions of people in the seoul area in south korea in japan and other places at risk this seems like folly feeling of that we're doing something with this situation but historically it has done nothing but hurt individuals in iraq the sanctions killed hundreds of thousands of children unicef reported sanctions are in essence a type of warfare they are not benign they are not diplomatic and they show us that
5:23 pm
we need to step up and engage and talk more so i. and expect any change to come from this round of sanctions and in fact it just shows the impotence of the current trump administration policy at last week china shut down the friendship bridge which was the main trade route with north korea is that perhaps a sign of a more aggressive stance from china from beijing well it's hard to say what's actual and what's symbolic if you will there are plenty of other ways for china to get goods and services to north korea. in. coming through ships and other ways and we don't know if that's a sincere effort to try to squeeze beyond young to a nother approach or whether it is currently symbolic in one way or another it's
5:24 pm
hard to read too much into all of this but again it becomes a part of the sanctions process which certainly is better than a military process back in the region but realistically we've got to step beyond that and so i really look to china to leave more with some proposals to maybe get on board strongly with the proposal being laid out now that you open the story with from the russian government and begin to advocate for direct talks and dialogue is something that we've been hearing increasingly donald trump north korea back on the list of state sponsors of terrorism naming a number of country is there any evidence that north korea actually supports terrorists. well i mean first as a lawyer i can say the placement on that list is totally against what the law is in
5:25 pm
the united states because they cannot show the repeated acts of support for international terrorism that are required we don't just put people who threaten us on that list it is an effort to banter about the word the terrorism word in order to make people more afraid in order to justify a policy that isn't working because somehow if they're terrorists we can't dialogue with them we don't talk to terrorists and so consequently it's an effort i believe to support the lack of diplomacy that this administration has chosen and by doing that it becomes their justification in some way or another not to mitt sit down and talk with the regime in north korea so this becomes a way in which they can label them maybe gives them an extra bargaining chip but
5:26 pm
the extra sages that come about from being placed on this list don't really make a difference for your time and your thoughts this hour eric king co-founder of lawyers for peace and demilitarization in korea thank you. turkey has reiterated its call for the u.s. to stop arming kurdish white p.g. fighters in syria who use terrorist it follows an apparent pledge from donald trump to stop supplying weapons to the militia a grouping that has played an instrumental role in driving back islamic state the we will not give weapons remarks from a u.s. president for the first time is important but it will lose value if it's not implemented it would be deceiving the world. so if washington does stop supplying weapons to the kurds it's likely to go some way to easing the current tension between the u.s. and turkey and growth has been highly critical of washington for arming what it sees as terrorists and using them to fight islamic extremist groups america for its
5:27 pm
part has sided with the various kurdish groups what it needs their help the spike turkish protests with more involved here samir. kurds the largest stateless minority in the world the kurdish population is in turkey iraq and syria and it seems for the us it's more about where they are rather than who they are. let's start with turkey on one side and cora washington's regional and nato ally on the other on cars sworn enemy the rebellious kurdistan workers party fight against the dash terrorist organization should not be left with another terror organization we want to believe that our allies we choose to stand beside us and not on the side of terrorist organizations well the choice is obvious and the us lists the p.k. k. as a terrorist group we support turkey in the first fight against terror and terror groups
5:28 pm
like isis and the p.k. k. . over in iraq the kurdish peshmerga were crucial when the us fight against the islamic state washington put up money and provided all the weapons they needed but with most of the fighting over so is america's benevolence iraqi kurds are losing the oil wells they fought out of terrorist control and the reserves are now going back under government control the us of bt and baghdad. the kurdish push for independence has also received the cold shoulder with secretary tillerson stating that the referendum and its results lacked legitimacy and the u.s. supports a united iraq the disappointment is very grit although we have a long and negative experience with america wrong size in the sand talking to our body so they have
5:29 pm
a strong. position against it if encouraged by the iraqi government. source strong we have on the opposition and i think. even counsel or even. start us off for the right is a man called the stop. off to neighboring syria where the kurdish y p g also got everything they needed from the us in their fight against eisel money weapons training and praise we should be using we should be doing the kurdish region to be the first nighters they really proved to be the most really do it and we should be working with them. but they managed to hang on to the oil fields that they liberated with no questions from their american pals washington claims that it seeks a unified and sovereign syria but it all.
