6:01 am
this is an international coming to you live from moscow i'm kate partridge thank you for joining us. french president a man you might call has tabled a new plan for preventing human trafficking in libya and it involves military action and it's been widely criticized especially following the french led to western military intervention in libya that left the country in ruins as word gusty of explains. slavery and human trafficking of fences sadly common now in libya but no need to fear president macron is here he has the solution for libya's problem send in the troops to tunisia to zone we are proposing police military action we're not waging war but this is a country in
6:02 am
a political transition political transition he calls it does sound better than as savage civil war more politically correct nevertheless a number of african and e.u. states are ready to help fight this war or rather not really a war says micron but a military operation still round two for france in libya. today were intervening in libya we are intervening in order to enable the libyan people to choose their own destiny it must not be deprived of its rights by violence and terror the fact that slavery is so rampant in libya is because the country's army and political order were obliterated under nato bombardment six years ago since then libya has been stuck in a brutal and bloody political transition as president calls it or
6:03 am
absolute chaos and anarchy as anyone out sward call it as long as it is a failed state the problem will come back as a failed state because the regime of got off the top was not a mass regime but he says that was destroyed by the french and the british together in two thousand and eleven so of course michael can do something now but it will reoccur. well africa is the region where the problem of modern slavery is worst this is followed by asia and the pacific region with central asia and europe slowed while france itself has become a key human trafficking hub that's at least according to a report from the u.s. state department it lists the country as a destination an transit point for men women and children subjected to forced labor and sex trafficking or we spoke to the vice president of the libyan presidential council and asked him about my calls idea the military action. we are going
6:04 am
to be but no. we cannot accept anything. to be done with our difference of opinion libyans would be the one to do that. with the help of the lord to come up. with the right way to help them. to read or write them basement on that country for sure libya is not the country for you to make a libya is a country or run we are the libyan have already impressed on africa and we want to see anybody look at it we're going to hurt but the country of origin and put up this immunity to stay with the loved ones with that from. now is the day that football fans have been waiting for the draw for the twenty eighteen feet for well cup well we're bringing you coverage from a special studio in the heart of the russian capital and here's ati's neil harvey stan collymore and

6:06 am
a pleasure to have you with this and i'm not too embarrassed to say that in my opinion you are the best goalkeeper i ever saw play the game you like in the brush . in the cold of moscow but even so it is a change of heart and it is so great to have you with us and i want to talk about that goal because you must afford your friends of friends to tears with that you scored a goal was a keeper maybe i can bore you as row with pride frankly it was a penalty in the french for going out against belgium. to score. a goal is a goal great to have you with us lots to look forward to. because we've got more than just the goalkeeper on board you got a striker as well and stan collymore took a sneak peek behind the scenes ahead of the draw which is going to take place at state crown palace just behind us. welcome to the media center here at the kremlin and heads of the free for draw on friday as you can see people having their photos taken with the famous trophy which will be given out at the luzhniki stadium in july next year to the winners post
6:07 am
based most famous tournament almost. so. you call that peace is the official free for the world cup full of monies to get my hands on them it's a free for going out that it wants to make there's the logo. this is going to be what's kicking off the will cope in the mission if you study moscow right the way through to the end in the middle of july for one cannot light. rather just about it's going to draw a whole web the faithful will cook drool on friday he's going to be one of the first to get in. that as you can hear over my shoulder the drool behind the scenes has already started and going to make a come on both very well known of course to also be in the stan collymore show will break god to you through proceedings i'm going to keep it nice and simple for you they're all thirty two nations divided into four parts of my team spot on all the house russia and include the top seven ranked trains on the planet so russia joined
6:08 am
five times whereas brazil the world champions germany christiane we're now doing portugal the european champions you know messi and argentina belgium the doll courses to win it's france for nine hundred ninety eight champions and finally poland please. consider getting flanked by cameraman from around the world they are very excited as way off we're going to have some special guests and also you through the day so keep it i'll see on espanyol arabic and english and who will following the way brazil argentina england in the house russia get supply at the free for world cup next year we'll find out on aussie. and. first on russia's hosted this big event a lot of pressure on the organizers and on the team itself what is that like what i think this is this is probably one of the biggest challenges that the. that russia
6:09 am
will have a face one thing is a whole organization. you know just by being here you can kind of sense that everything is under control the other thing is being a player in the team having to represent your own country in a world cup that that that you host that's a completely different you know the fish extra pressure it's extra pressure and i made a couple of guys. who's actually been in that situation both of them played in the world cup winning team in france back in one thousand nine hundred eighty france with a host and they know exactly what it's going to be like to be a player for russia. who do you see as the favorites to win it brazil result affinity with germany germany because it showing great ability great steel with jessica and team during
6:10 am
the confrontation in brazil because if all together at the same time the money's you know to play well they have individual players who can make the difference and at the same time quality media very tough and basically. president germany and spain and maybe i hope for. a cause and someone that we don't look at too often that you can say way they can do really good. i'm looking after creation maybe you never know sweden of surprise everyone you know on the. t.v. without having any players but they made it maybe didn't the mark was waiting to be good so. we have a good player yeah we've got a lot of stands i love i love that could be one of the big stars. for me
6:11 am
a name because the one you want. including. this. i don't know when i go we want we want someone else he's the only one per day surely that can you know shine you know behind the cellar and i'll go and see saw with old name and but big he's a french guy for france for germany for brazil for every team in the port one maybe you don't take the speed because if you take spain he was a group very very. we have iran there are teams that might be quite easy to play against them but to me jerry is a good team there is a very good costa rica is a very. severe team because. obviously
6:12 am
the big name players are the center of the attention he can do without the fans you know this and there are eleven particularly enthusiastic guests who are becoming to tonight's big event i'm talking about the call them the super fans i think the lucky fans there eleven forty fans have been chosen in different cities right across russia all because of their passion for the beautiful game and it's clear from looking at their ages so you can love football however old you are the youngest superfan is just six why the oldest one is twelve times his age. i am. four years old to have to follow. this path near yeah yeah. the board bombers come and buy me. love. kids.
6:13 am
somewhat there could. some non-licensed but i think. yes it goes i really have to think of the in. order. for money. now the world cup will offer the chance for a lot of football fans to come visit russia for the very first time fee for sex in general from a summer spoke to stan collymore about russia experience. well i think what we experienced during this. twenty seventeen through the. confederation cup just send over a very strong signal on what a world cup. by russia could be so so tell us what what pleasantly
6:14 am
surprised you about the confederations cup when i came for the first time in russia it was in july last year. one month after my assignment and definitely like every african. person i was just feeling to be treated differently and i was ready also to help people think differently about africa and africans but as we speak i've been here for at least twenty times altogether i haven't suffered any russian issues wherever i go to explain what fifty five is doing how fifty five is modernizing its image i have received a warm welcome i can only and crunch people who are still doubting about the. it's a welcoming party here to come so definitely i am the first one to say ok what do
6:15 am
you think about russia. reality and to leave the reality and three fantastic enemies in tournaments you definitely need to be in a joint twenty eighteen at the confederations cup and i can testify to the fans the really did love it and a lot of them going to it's a long journey it's expensive a lot of them are coming but let's get to the draw that's what we're really here for just a few hours to go now and as i understand you actually taken polity in one of these things so our experience different levels obviously being a player you're waiting for the draw you know you're excited about who you're going to get we're going to play against. been in two of the euros draws as well well actually picked out the poles and i've hosted champions league yourself and they're all exciting in each in every way the thing about being a player so when you qualify obviously you don't think about you can play. the next time you kind of think about what's going to happen the seedings when the parts are actually being announced and you can see who you can actually kind of sort of
6:16 am
finding your way through who do you want who would you not want and then obviously when the draw comes around it becomes probably the most exciting part of the sort of pre world cup and it's not really who you really want it's who you know and so void yeah absolutely so you know the draw is really really it's exciting because it's such a big part of what's going to happen in the summer you would wager there's a few managers you probably don't want to face that it's very exciting everyone's got their own opinion it's just a matter of hours now until the draw gets underway will your team get seventy six pm moscow time do you stay with. myself for all the build up.
6:17 am
most people think just stand out in this business you need to be the first one on top of the story or the person with the loudest voice of the biggest raid in truth to stand down the news business you just the dance the right questions demand the right answer. question. here's what people have been saying about rejected a night with us is it actually just full on awesome the only show i go out of my way to find you know what it is that really packs
6:18 am
a punch oh yeah it is the john oliver of r t america is doing the same we are apparently better than blues nothing. to see people you never heard of love went back to the night and president of the world bank go very. seriously send us an e-mail. welcome back a new poll conducted in the u.s. has revealed an overwhelming majority of the country's millennial swarmed a suds political policy. and spoke to young people on the streets of new york to find out why. in the usa it's democrats and republicans it's always been that way a two party system now some people might think that makes the country more stable but millennial seem to have a different perspective let's break down the millennial case against the two party system now sixty five percent of say that the country is moving in the wrong
6:19 am
direction and seventy one percent of them say that they're ready for a new third political party but wanting to see a new political player in washington is nothing new according to the figures provided by gallup the number of americans who favor a third party has been increasing over the course of the last five years in two thousand and twelve it was only forty six percent but in two thousand and sixteen it was up to fifty seven percent now you rarely hear about it but third parties have actually been around in american politics since the nineteenth century now why is it that in all these years an independent political faction has never been able to take the white house well maybe it has something to do with the fact that mainstream media is working overtime to keep people marching behind the elephant and the donkey so you can understand the all human going to throw a party kind of that can put a new issue or new solution on the table but it is hard to make the case the thought is what's happening here and what out of their part of who we now know that third party candidates out there are very much not qualified you know if you
6:20 am
experience or through knowledge now amid the growing disillusionment with the two major parties let's see if americans would really prefer a third option do you feel that the establishment parties represent your values i feel they are to align like different things so i feel very independent of any. support for any party nominee depending so. i think both sides are have valid. and valid thing to say in both sides stink sometimes not really honest i'm kind of further to the left than the democratic party has room for and there's nothing on the right for me if a viable third party emerged that was closer to your values would you support it. yeah i would i make sense but i know it's very hard for those type of parties to get out there you know i would consider voting for a third party they represent my value is. i would if i had a chance some people say if you vote for a third party you're throwing your vote away do you agree with them unfortunately
6:21 am
the system has been rigged to such that it ends up being a wasted vote like it shouldn't be and that's wrong i do think the way it's structured right now but albeit you know local elections being on exception i think you are kind of throwing it away no i want to say that but i can see why some people see it that way expression when people say like i don't like bernie sanders losing a brief senators running is why he could last for so many but i don't think anyone who voted for them is a lost now as youth in america grow alienated from the two major parties the question remains what new political grouping could fulfill the needs of the younger generation table mop and artsy new york. madrid is taking precautions to ensure the apparent cooling of passions over council on independence continues the spanish government has introduced an unusual ban in boss alona targeting the city's fountains.
6:22 am
down to yellow because it means freedom for all political prisoners it is the color of freedom. this seems silly to me because yellow is just a normal color i think it's a desperate campaign by politicians trying to stop the independence movement. is complete nonsense. it's pointless everybody has already decided how they really twenty first and that one change place scene yellow or another color. yellow cards another color could be used but it's just absurd.
6:23 am
now three time oscar winning director oliver stone has shared his views on relations between america and russia with r.t. sophie shevardnadze stone's latest documentary series and earlier this year gave a unique insight into vladimir putin's personal and professional life stone's new book which he was in moscow to promote talks about his meetings with the russian president putin as rise to power and global relations. i am a person who has researched russia a bit i know a bit about it i've been to russia many times actually since one thousand i came here for the first time to interview dissidents i was working on a movie in one thousand nine hundred two called the defiance and it was about the dissidents who were coming out of the psychiatric clinics but i try to stick to what i feel is the truth and i don't take i didn't say one false word to mr p. at all i didn't say what i meant when i said it when i said to him and one of the i think one of the first things i said was it strikes me that you're this you're a son of russia as you know i pushed him but whatever people say i pushed him and
6:24 am
certainly i could feel his irritation when i was pushing him hard on the democracy question on this the question of his succession and what's going to happen next year. more on these in plenty of other stories. coming up in the next hour the build up begins.
6:25 am
just by that'll survival. by you're just. now i'll read you some water. that's undercutting about. it's good for markets it's not good for the global economy. everything today is about the individual so it's so nice to be a little bit different and it's all about the team and i and i think it's. it's a quality that i study football players have maybe because we come from an amateur environment. so we know that the of the nations have that individual and what individual qualities that we have so we have to be collectively better than i know this. washington d.c. faces a december day mood taxes government funding immigration are just some of the hurdles
6:26 am
the u.s. government must jump into before the end of the month we'll take a look at this and more on this edition. of the politicking on larry king donald trump and republican lawmakers face enormous pressure for some kind of legislative achievement this year december holds a jam packed agenda for congress including tax reform a government funding debate to avoid a christmas time shutdown and a renewed fight over the fate of hundreds of thousands of young undocumented immigrants who's likely to win who lose what happens if nothing makes it over the legislative finish line we're going to talk about it with robin by road democratic strategist former obama campaign field director and a u.s. army ranger vet he joins us from atlanta and lammy ten research fellow at
6:27 am
stanford's hoover institution he said to the george w. bush administration and was an adviser to the presidential campaigns of marco rubio and mitt romney and he joins us from the campus at stanford let's start with the tax bill. some major differences between the house and the senate you think we're going to get a bill by the end of december. larry i do think there will be a strong push whether they actually get it by the end of december if it slips into twenty eighteen we'll have to see but i do think that republicans are committed to getting something out they of course cross the first hurdle this week with a vote in the budget committee on the senate side so i do have confidence that they will be a tax bill now whether it's going to look more like the senate version of the house version that remains to be seen but certainly i think the political and the policy momentum is there why robin is the end of december soon portman so what happens if
6:28 am
the tensions in january well donald trump trying to give everybody a little christmas present but what they what they feel to realize though is that he keeps turning this as the the big cut for the middle class so what they don't know is that this christmas gift will be very small by my calculation about eleven hundred dollars is what they'll save on their federal taxes but those of us like myself who itemize and do ten thousand nine s. are going to get the shaft and where if you this bill is great if you don't own anything but if you own property it itemize this bill is really not going to be good for you so i know that it's important for him that he delivers because they've had no measure the major legislative wins they need to give something back they promised and promised and promised to their constituents they've blocked on obamacare they need to get something done and i think that we will see something
6:29 am
but like i said i think it's going to fall short of what he's promised on the campaign trail larry what about republican support so the plan money has a rooted owners to picking up we don't seem to know the democrats the two kedarnath us did not attend the meeting with the president. i don't anticipate any democrats will support this i do think that the republican supporters remained pretty steady as your viewers probably know there are a number of republicans that have been a little bit wobbly their support has been questionable so that's people like john mccain of arizona lisa murkowski of alaska susan collins of maine bob corker of tennessee ron johnson of wisconsin all of these people have said in some form or another larry they want to get to yes they want to get to a point where they can vote for this legislation so i do think that even though there's been some shakiness there i think you're going to see most republicans come together the problem is in the senate you can only afford to lose two republicans before this thing goes down to defeat it was the same dynamic we saw with the
6:30 am
debate over obamacare so you know watch to see where this ends up going but my sense is that even the shaky republicans are likely to come back to this because there is some substantial middle class tax relief here most americans the vast majority over seventy percent take the standard deduction you're going to see a doubling of the standard deduction through this tax bill and so i do think that many many republicans are going to see this as an opportunity to vote for middle class tax cuts which is not to say the bill is perfect i think there's a lot of things about it that do need to get fixed in the conference committee but ultimately i think a lot of people are going to have a very difficult time voting against tax relief rather than is is senator mccain again the stumbling block. it's not just him it's eight and was appropriate to name those off there are also a couple that were left out steve daines of montana he's unhappy with the press pass through business income tax rate. and representative lankford of oklahoma says that it's going to explode the deficit he said.
