a thousand injured local journalist reports from gaza. well anger is the mood of the palestinian streets especially after the air strikes launched on the gaza strip was. a much beloved sites and the city's two members of hamas were killed the tensions are increasing we are just now on the buffer zone and there were a lot of confrontations between the palestinians and the israelis hundreds of youths are now on the buffer zone at the ambulances are waiting on the freezone everyone scared for a new injuries. protests in support of palestine are being held across the world crowds gathered in paris and rome and across the ocean the demos planned in new york meanwhile in emergency session of the un security council was convened over washington's decision on jerusalem and during that meeting of the fifteen members
2:05 pm
fourteen of them were united against just one us for nearly seventy years the city of jerusalem has been the capital of the state of israel despite many attempts by others to deny that reality. we regret the u.s. president's decision washington's decision with serious. these decisions are helpful to the prospects for peace in the region our actions reflected and. honest assessment of reality it is fueling tensions and increasing instability in an already volatile and turbulent region far actions are intended to help advance the cause of peace at stake is the respect of international law and the legitimate rights of each side at stake is the legitimacy of this acuity council israel like all nations has the right to determine its capital city unilateral actions attempting to change the status of jerusalem response putting the long existing
2:06 pm
foundation for thirty two months of these really palestinian issues the united states took this step in full knowledge that it will raise questions and concerns with a little this is a dangerous precedent this meeting reflects fear over repercussions of the unilateral decisions that run counter to threaten the system of political relations the united states will not be lectured to by countries that lack any credibility when it comes to treating both israelis and palestinians fairly whether the u.s. envoy to the united nations nikki haley who just saw there attacked the u.n. itself accusing the global body of being biased against israel. over many years the united nations has outrageously been of the world's foremost centers of hostility towards israel the u.n. has done much more damage to the prospects for middle east peace than to advance them we will not be a party to that the united states no longer stands by when israel is unfairly
2:07 pm
attacked in the united nations we spoke exclusively to the secretary general of the palestine liberation organization the executive committee that's so eric out he believes that benjamin netanyahu and donald trump have destroyed the principle of the two state solution without even revealing their plans to the palestinians before hand. so how do you want anyone from took the central issue jerusalem and decided its fate unilaterally and now in a matter of days or weeks the trumpet ministration will declare its agreement to the incorporation of settlements by israel might happen in another week's time this is my personal analysis based on my knowledge and evaluation of the behavior of this administration before of weeks straight i was in contact with the main washington they didn't raise a single question with us nor informed us about their plan they didn't tell us anything we deal with netanyahu government and the trumpet ministration which
2:08 pm
together have destroyed the principle of a two state solution if the us scuttle their efforts in the security council we would have to appeal to the general assembly and also perhaps will appeal to the international court of justice and the u.s. supreme court. quest to prove donald trump colluded with russia shows no sign of letting up c.n.n. recently aired a story that donald trump jr i mean sent a direct link to wiki leaks documents on the democratic national committee before they were even made public it was september fourth two thousand and sixteen at the height of the campaign that's when candidate donald trump his son donald trump jr and even trump jr's personal assistant they got an e-mail with a decryption key and a web site address for hacked wiki leaks documents. well the documents were made public on september thirteenth on wiki leaks twitter feed c.n.n. claimed the e-mail was sent on september fourth but later turned out to be false
2:09 pm
the e-mail was actually sent to trump jr on september fourteenth the day after the data went public he later tweeted a response to the spread freak. but now that you know the truth you should. call for somebody to be fired and i would like to run the correction giving quote the proper context for the timing of the illness or seek a social network offer to promote candidacy among russian speaking americans during no news is good news but that explosive information comes from anonymous sources familiar with e-mail sent by the british publicist rob goldstone he's the guy who arranged the infamous trump jr meeting with the russian lawyer back in june of two thousand and sixteen c.n.n. issued an exclusive report saying those emails are the first indication there was any follow up after that meeting and that follow up centers around what goldstone allegedly referred to as a cute marketing idea scandalous here's what happened the director of partnership marketing v.k.
2:10 pm
russia's equivalent to facebook had up team trump to set up a page on their website to appeal to russian americans before the election finally the smoking gun right and the network confirmed they made an offer to trump just like they did to a bunch of other popular people we welcomed international celebrities joining our social network we invited donald trump to create a v.k. account like many other celebrities but the media all but push those facts of the side choosing instead to focus on the young the exact himself one outlet said they became manager represented a new point of direct contact between an influential russian and advisors to trump not really sure if influential is the way to classify this guy however. the media are also pointing out that the v. k. executive has taken photos of trump and a separate event now to one with president putin well apparently that didn't impress the trump team they didn't reply to the network's request. we never
2:11 pm
received a reply from donald trump's representatives it is absolutely ludicrous and it is part of the nature of how our media has covered this entire story for this entire year and plan to continue to do for months and months and months as long as it keeps their ratings elevated because it's russia that's why this is so exciting to the media and a way for them to store up a story that is absolutely baseless and yet another one of hundreds and hundreds of stories that have been and will continue to be nothing but sensationalism and russia phobia. care system analysis of this story now i'm joined on the line by joe lauria who's an independent journalist and author and a former wall street journal correspondent joe nice to have you on. do you think situations like what we just seen with c.n.n. are happening because there's too much reliance on anonymous sources or they're just too enthusiastic to get
2:12 pm
a story about trump and his family. i think they have become a victim of their own mania that they have themselves helped create more than anyone else we've had a long long list of errors that had to be corrected in this long running hysteria about russia supposing interference in the american election we've had brian ross of c.n.n. a.b.c. the other day has been suspended for a month because he said he said that flynn had talked to the russian ambassador about during the campaign rather than after the campaign we have had the wall street journal reporting falsely that the mill is investigation has asked for the banking records of trump from deutsche bank we've had this ridiculous story that the russians were sending money for the october twenty sixth you know election to try to influence american election it was actually about the duma election to help america russians living in america to vote we've had so many of our t. hat c c span the vermont agreed it was electric grid was had all these stories how
2:13 pm
to be retracted but there are even more disturbing stories where there's no real factual error but there spawn in a way that leads into the story they're trying to prove they have lost control of how to report this story they never had an objective view about that they're trying to prove this any scrap of information someone beats a russian flynn flynn was supposed to be the work of the smoking gun and nothing has come to fruition about this story and i think that this is extremely troubling that they have they have consumed themselves they are if you recall in the film all the president's men there's a scene where woodward and bernstein got a story wrong and ben bradlee the editor of the washington post choose them out because he says that if you shoot too high in the story again long after scandal everyone relax now they didn't make any of the mistakes after that and going after nixon and watergate but we see worse makes mistakes after mistakes and they are corrected but we see new ones there's not been a read just men in the thinking of the media about how to approach this story for
2:14 pm
an objective point of view. what's going on with journalistic standards here because these are just the mistakes that we we know about i mean there are so many stories based on anonymous sources in theory they could be an awful lot more mistakes we just don't know about them yet. well and then this c.n.n. story about the e-mail that when it was sent on september fourth they claimed they had two sources that told them that and then c.b.s. and miss n.b.c. confirmed what their own two sources the six people have tried have made the same mistake that it was on september fourth and not september fourteenth there are no journalistic standards in this story there after a foregone conclusion in the everything proof and it turns out to be error after error i think we've seen we've seen the junior story where he was supposed. first of all it's never been proven that that's against the law to get in the u.s. to get opposition research from a foreign source but there was no journalistic standards i mean there they are failing and i'm hoping and i have to admit i'm enjoying to see this happen that
2:15 pm
they are being humiliated by them such as getting the date of an e-mail wrong and even if trump even if the trump jr had gotten an e-mail from we could weeks before the release that still doesn't prove collusion or coordination you'd have to go back to the beginning to see that there were coordinated campaign people have actually played in getting the d.n.c. e-mails in the protest e-mails what role could this would have been a need to know basis intelligence operation no one in the trump campaign needed to know this would defy what they've had to have done flaunt flown over the russian sit in the keyboards someone from the campaign with the russian hockey to get it i mean it's absurd but they have not they have lost such perspective on the story they cannot see the absurdities of the things that they're writing and it's only when these serious mistakes come out they have to correct them that we the vag they have to take notice of this but it still doesn't seem to correct the direction they're going in and they do not they should be real these fake sources they had on the sources they had they gave them fake information about september fourth being
2:16 pm
the date of the e-mail they would not do that no one seems to be disciplined at c.n.n. for this and i don't know how much further they can go i think the whole russia gate stories seem to be collapsing in the absence of any credible evidence but that doesn't seem to stop us media does it you know more fake news giving us some insights into the into the mistakes joe lauria is my guest independent journalist author formal wall street journal correspondent many thanks joe. thank you very much now spoken district is fast becoming a war zone that's according to sweden's chief prosecutor will take a closer look after the break. let me explain something to everybody out there who's wants to be a success in life there's two ways to go you can either become educated you can do that by yourself go to the new york university websites of the gallatin division and get the syllabus of the book list at all gala to the vision students after i

sweden's chief prosecutor rosewarne for the district in the capital stock which has a large immigrant population is becoming a war zone bring could be almost like a war zone when do police work there they operate as if they were de army. all migrants make up the vast majority of the suburb of ring could be with almost ninety percent first or second generation immigrants the district's now been placed in sweden's most severe category of urban areas with high crime rates as riots and burning cars become increasingly common there. but it's far from being the only swedish area developing a bad reputation the city of seventy kilometers away from stockholm that's been plagued by months of violence criminals of even use grenades to target police stations firefighters now require the back of a military style law enforcement sweden's third largest cities mamma but witnessed a sharp rise in crime as well this year alone fifty nine shootings left seven people dead dozens more injured almost eighty percent of the local population say

2:21 pm
has been playing good cop bad cop game with like a star and one of a shill says something positive the other gives strong threats in the past the drones have been attacking targets in pakistan or it was perhaps the approval of the government of pakistan but in the past couple of years the government of pakistan has not provided any such approval of the united states should actually envy its options because it has been using pakistan as an ally and if it wants to turn against pakistan it will be detrimental to the peace in the region. meanwhile pakistan's air force chief has questioned whether america's long standing military engagement in the region is even helpful so hello i'm on also slammed washington's track record on promoting democracy abroad. no outside power can engineer democracy
2:22 pm
inside a country nor is democracy the solution to every problem examples in iraq and libya are in front of us after the fall of gadhafi and saddam what happened in this country's did they get democracy it is a syria currently and of course yemen afghanistan iraq all of these countries have lost their ability and they are in serious problems in fact at the moment there are some scribes in the new york press in the washington press who are predicting that if pakistan doesn't go the line of the united states of america if syria like situation may be created over here because pakistan cannot allow its territory to be used by others to engineer in the name of democracy any farcical moves which will destabilize the country. the former georgian president turned ukraine opposition figure mikhail saakashvili has gone on hunger
