1:30 pm
we'll go around to the other in a says europeans russians americans and we are here in libya the east the only democracy is the only let all the really a light in this very dark environment and. the state will like you all in jail all innovation you promote. it medicine everyone will read and see it all your people from probably will have a coalition not back to the wall street o.c.r. and you know me during all during the day calm down the heart of the how can i think it's really over well not as. well as i cannot for the your high and all of it or opt terrorism violence with nothing is flare law or terrorists you occupy that is this that if you don't let me if you don't let me respond i'm not going to let anybody hear what you say i cannot claim and say your people because your people are russian and i have great risk your head will its residents live here all
1:31 pm
the way back hurt like someone who bought whoever knows you like i am your career i think violence like hero you spent time where jennifer does a great dad you are lower the gentleman i apologize we're at this time i'm going to have to learn to run to a problem called the king also working on the door asking writes a political commentator and to me on a member of his revolutionary council we have silas it was an interesting conversation many thanks gents and that's all see you at the top of the hour. so there is no the all important as a person but he is important in those far as business. calls a risk in the regime falling apart so indeed the americas are americans so much less to have him leave folderol from time to time they keep saying at the so
1:32 pm
in the end i think most countries are accepting death he will stay. previously on the great american children. and this is just a normal he's a bigger additional to me suing their images. in the kitchen to do a flat when i was young i start to slip sliding. where we call their nine. year old. everybody i'm stephen baldwin gosselin tast hollywood gun usual suspects favorite movie proud american first of all i'm just a george washington and honored to say just uncle steve enjoyed the big boy because
1:33 pm
this is my buddy max famous financial guru and will he's a little bit different i've understood your abraham lincoln high not really no one knows the last but not least my larger than life. the night an aspiring star rio. with all the drama happening in our country i'm shooting the brood have some fun. every day americans see a night prophecy five years when it's cold and frosty but who knows. what's america. suffered to see how things got so crazy i was naked completely naked to get my finger on hopefully start to bridge the gap this is the great american pill which.
1:34 pm
states you in arizona in our heroes have spent the night in the parking lot of their new favorite restaurant. steven looks ahead to the future max brings the pilgrimage party to one of the biggest party schools in the nation and. we're going to cause america. talk about america. back to love how are you you know. you can trust me i was the president of the united states i understand just for the record abraham lincoln did not look like that he said trust me you can't. people have all the warmth for
1:35 pm
a blink and i see that in their faces so you know i am. abraham lincoln exactly now i'm not around your friend and father i'm one of the most important i'm on your five don't know it now i am an american a while so what's been going on when i was president there was a civil war going on a very contentious a lot of anger but every sold out so you can correlate that. as far as the liberals and conservatives just a little bit of us some political disputes with them. knowing north korea but a little bit of russia also all right what's going on last year they were launching a plane back on monday yeah well pick up currently we're all friends in that little clip the liberals on trying to say that we reveal what should or should trump an office the liberals or the russians the liberals and then we're cool russia is not right and then russia pissed because they did not treat me like shit right and then
1:36 pm
now they're on our no they're well i have todd lincoln as my son and i had to scold them from time to time for stealing an apple i know i retire at a. young tot he died tragically young and it is quite some time to really upset my life i have a loss the servos. so some liberals are saying that russia has something to do with the election yet but yet they think that hillary didn't win because they bring new life in that's why trump won really this election doesn't. stephen head back inside kathy pino to meet with a regular customer who's running for the senate from the state of arizona. and. stephen baldwin peter have good luck with things different from this. so arizona is. in my heart i did a t.v.
1:37 pm
show called the young round of the western. a.b.c. family's t.v. show of the pony express so i thought we were going to shoot a pilot and there was no way this thing was going to serious three years we did it and it was a blessing it's really cool and i stayed in tucson another five years and commuted to los angeles. and what's really horrible so i'm here for her. and i wish you could see what. i really want to just hang out and see some friends. there's a difference between if you were born a muslim or so tell me that story. of. oh no this is how you know it's just my brain to calibrate what i want to ask you because it would be very different if you were born into a muslim to the machine meritless and so i don't know. me there.
1:38 pm
grew up in arkansas and the first thing i learned about islam was in the sixth grade social studies class and learned about world culture and i learned that in the middle east all the women were property and walk two steps behind the men and then in seventh grade we learned about world religions and then after every chapter of my teacher would say i was in public school my teacher would say and they're going to hell and because they're not christian they don't believe in jesus and so when we got to islam it was. it was muhammad is a good man. seriously so in college i started meeting people who were middle eastern exchange students and i was and still am a minister and the. police would go up to them and tell them how awful they were that they beat their wives and they didn't believe in jesus so i was trying to convert them to christianity and they would explain to me well no that's not what islam says i mean some people are bad to women but islam is and and we do believe in jesus in fact we have an entire chapter on the mother of jesus of how he was
1:39 pm
born and all of his miracles so then i started learning more about islam and the more i studied it the more i liked it and it spoke to me. before that you were christian. that's amazing that's an easy testimony. and for me i didn't change religions i expanded on my understanding of my relationship with god is just eliminating sort of you. know. important profit and teacher in islam. because what's fascinating is here sits two individuals from two totally different walks of life i'm a guy that was a dumb jock from long island new york his dad was a public school teacher and football coach i grew up on a friday night lights fighting every weekend drunk thing and yet
1:40 pm
there's things i know about your face now. and things you know about my face and the things you know about your faith based on the fact that you know things about my face and yet. you choose. to trust just the to me is just interpretation a lot just means god in arabic just like what a law does not the god of the christian life if you read the koran it's all the same prophets i mean look at abraham and absent the same god everybody gets so proudly on saying god doesn't ask the almighty. is the same father. only called according to the most the same god that we don't believe that god had a child and that jesus was a miracle birth but that did not make him these eight descended on a child of god any more than it made the rest of us that were all children of god. and then put it out to be the same entity yes we believe it's the same entity the
1:41 pm
same prophets this isn't even the same stories just as some details changed. you know i bet you were a lot more similar than we realize as well stephen is being schooled on the second largest religion in the world and. max is well. below mess because. my man blanket he's not a lincoln. i tried one day i bought five. of the american. there is a still a lot of i i don't know what to say about that honestly because it's just american dream it's so to me subject and honestly my parents. were there and you know they give me an education and to them i suppose that's. an america i feel is still you know went off truly but you know things are changing. just says you know the u.s.
1:42 pm
is prospering so around the country and third world countries are slowly becoming more and more you know. psychologically developed yes exactly and so with things i doubt honestly i feel like you know the world is a lot more. you know how small a lot more potential no matter where you go. you're in arizona you're running for the federal state see correct us that you're running for the u.s. senate. where are you now in your journey. of empowering women have been on that journey of empowering women a very long time when i became a civil rights and social justice advocates here in arizona basically i was running organizations going around the state telling people you know about misinformation about muslims or bringing groups together to work on civil rights issues and i think that that's very empowering to have a woman on leadership in a woman taking the lead then you know i decided to you know render us and so for me
1:43 pm
at the old bat that one is to say that i have the. personal presence to act and that i'm willing to do when and i'm not asking permission and i'm not waiting for that you're right. and soon is giving that same thought process that when it came with those folks still back in arkansas that the two themselves. but i'm ok with asking for permission little jay with them i'm not going to judge somebody that's not the so. place and laugh that i'm not some yeah you made your amigo now i think they're dumb don't in their wake up and i looked him in the head with. a loaf of bread you know. everybody's on their own journey all i can do is plant seeds and hope that a beautiful flower grows i'm not responsible for the flower. so much has changed since i was president of the united states. i
1:44 pm
learned some of the students. very dark sunnies. and enabling kent to carry a chat for a minute. then we chat a little but. now your friend can wait we're after stock serious business this is a serious business there is nothing serious when a man is dressed like that. yeah i'm a blink and we have to chat it was or lose your other friend reports of a one nine hundred centuries stocker are currently rolling in. oh no there were no windows on the new president took my office at the white house there's a new guy he's got people upset. is that what's going on that i'm personally i'm mexican something i don't really i don't like not gonna. give you a problem on your border. now i'm going to say. what say you but. my ears start getting itchy cousin here and some politician.
1:45 pm
going to easy right now she's better to reach over and go politician this. you know arms that. lets the pa which are at the top which are hard. so first of all first of all tell you what. do we need. if if. if . in america. you have
1:46 pm
a little problem on your border. do we need a law first of all tell you all. the walls that we have have it worked as well as other technology can do we need to. know that we need a law as an immigration attorney i will tell you we do need to monitor it but a wall all it is is a cost or it's an ecosystem of disaster because so many animals pass through there there's drones and other ways that we can make sure and monitor that border much more effectively than spending money on actual structure like you know we're making a chinese wall. and so you're much to see i tell you you how far out there on second generation and states so immigration is a very big issue in america of course so what is how do you feel about it do you feel like it's being handled well or not or i feel like building a wall really wouldn't help. i also feel that you know we have rules here and they have rules there should a person who is here a certain way that wasn't correct. should be receive funding from my taxes.
1:47 pm
for somebody who is a citizen. i feel sorry for the families that have already made a made a living here and you know get kicked out or whatever is going on should this administration follow through with its promise for a wall. the day that politicians should follow through on a promise when it no longer makes sense for the country is a day that we should definitely regret as americans you should do what's best for the country you can explain why it's differentiates from your promise that you hopefully made in sincerity and thought was the best solution at the time but as we get more information as we get more technology as things change we should be able to move forward to what's best for the country instead of having to say i've got to do this because i made a promise you. even if it's wrong decision that's the effect of leadership.
1:48 pm
so when you speak your friends family back in mexico. much to still come here or you're saying maybe you know what i don't like most people are like handsome to them now with the new president because it's so harsh and it seems like it's a lot harder to get your residency like it was hard before and now it's going to be even harder so i think a lot of people are worried it's one of those crazy wall things. as a result shows mexico's going to pay for what was i going to happen probably down. to you know what would have a hundred percent turnaround overnight. if decisions started being made that would be better for everything you would have instant approval ratings all over this even people who hate with a passion people who have the hash tag of not my president if you created a health care system that made sure that everybody was minimally competent make sure that no one was left behind if you made to the every veteran was taking care
1:49 pm
of and not left behind if you made sure that in military decisions that you didn't have civilians with no strategy telling the military what to do and you actually listened to the military experts about what they should do because they're on the ground and no more never mind if they're the experts if you had if you did the wall and you did the technology to make sure that that was secure with al hurting the eco system without hurting the environment and without the necessary money if you did all those things that's a win and everybody would say wait a minute that's better than what we were promised you would get the people who want your comments because that's what they had their life staked on and you get the people to hate you with a passion because everybody wants to work so well that was educational. i learned some of those students. you know i am. going to be both a presentation everybody could be. spot on. what's been going on in the country
1:50 pm
since i left. political discourse gone ok well who's discourse ago like i'm like when i was president there were the abolitionists and the issue of slavery you know today what is the issue and i was fighting exactly i'm not all caught up i'm sure you couldn't wait i'll even better for you for years and what was the biggest surprise like when you got here like wow i didn't never expected that what it was anything about like surprise when you came here. should i switch to a serious tone shop a little. homelessness. talking about. men and women old enough to be my grandparents on the street. where you chose. what happened there's no formal social welfare. and nobody really is the pre one. last question if you come back here and
1:51 pm
claim it's a year from now i'm thinking back in my time. this thing i miss more than anything . ok i'll be obvious. this is. what. goes on. ok buddy we have this in common we can't you know this is what drives this we all can agree on that. while on a state finds common ground in the modern world steven continues his quest to understand if i'm correct during a tradition can you do that if you're a progressive feminist say it's an identity historically it was an identity that you are a religious person if you're really just moments ago you would have a certain respect. for. in that way we've lost that but for me it's
1:52 pm
a it's elating buried a mother and mother teach us this is all the ways the way she dressed other than she would close the back and it's also an identifier that anywhere i go other muslims recognise me as muslim and that creates a community because they will say peace to me they will ask if i need anything they will be available for me and i need help islam has always. those who would want to meet. each. need. this is in islam every muslim. gives a fifth of what he needs throughout the challenge. the son of the five to the five pillars of islam is not one of them but it's very strong it's one of it's one of the finalists. right because i'm traveling in muslim countries the the the the charity is unbelievable people walk in you and this is one of the things in this country and you never talk about this. and i don't know but but but like
1:53 pm
and i'm obviously you're twenty seven so. if you believe i'm forty five forty five and i'm fifty one. and. i feel a saintly we do a book deal read your book we sure. as a publisher you'd love to know that i take notes every night about what my day was like and my thoughts so i'll be ready to talk to know what i want to remind you of the seating is it's true youngest baldwin brother craziest exclamation point this has been verified by the american psychological association. so this is just you know it's like this is like. this is like washing over me and then it's like i just i'm just feeling like the skin to be so interesting to have people. period i'm honestly saying. that everyone really has
1:54 pm
