once again let's take a listen to a statement. about it on there to the defense minister and the head of the general staff order the start of the withdrawal of the russian forces to their permanent bases and if the terrorists dare to raise their heads again we will strike back with the strength he never seen before now of course the base in tartus an attack here will remain although the bulk of the bulk of troops is going home over the last two years the russian troops have played a very important role in backing the syrian army were getting terrified ever again around ninety percent of the country russian troops were closely involved in the liberation of aleppo almira twice in fact of the resort on the euphrates river bank as well. well here's a look back at isos rise and fall. islamic state a group whose name has become a synonym for bombings kidnappings beheadings and tara.
10:31 am
was. the group emerged in the early to thousands in iraq as a solid jihadist militant group and came to prominence in two thousand and three after the american invasion however back then the organization was too weak to terrorize the world but by two thousand and fourteen eisel had grown strong enough to proclaim itself a caliphate a terrorist state with its own currency laws and vast territory both in syria and
10:32 am
in iraq that's when the us pledge to crush it i can announce that america will lead a broad coalition to roll back this terrorist threat. our ject it is clear we will degrade and ultimately destroy. the small syrian town of kabbani was the first major loss for i saw. myself fought back and managed to make further territorial gains but ones not quite as significant as in the early days in september two thousand and fifteen russia joined the fight rolling out it's a. large scale anti terror campaign in syria. six months after the start of the russian campaign another major symbolic loss for i
10:33 am
saw the liberation of power myra the city where the terrorists filmed one of their most horrific executions. russian as strikes destroyed oil trucks and tankers draining the terrorists' cash source and while i suppose money was burning the u.s. led coalition together with the iraqis and the kurds attacked isis biggest city mosul the battle for mosul turned out to be a long one waged over nine months in victory came a tremendous cost turning a city with two million inhabitants into rubble. after the liberation of mosul the coalition shifted its focus on syria backing its
10:34 am
kurdish allies in their push against isis self-proclaimed capital raca in october two thousand and seventeen the city was completely liberated was. the. final nail in the caliphates coffin was the liberation of their resort the syrian city which i so besieged for three years. the last resort there was not much of the states left i see they suffered defeat after defeats in push from all sides and all parties u.s. and russian and strikes sides in the rocky forces kurdish militias and hezbollah
10:35 am
are all russians latest declaration that syria has been liberated from eisel has sparked a new rift between key foreign forces fighting terrorists in the country it didn't sit well with the u.s. led coalition which now claims that it's the only force that's made meaningful progress against islamic state artes and here and explains. everyone was gearing up to celebrate isos grip on syria was loosening the u.s. coalition forces had the champagne on ice we are defeating isis we're really winning we know how to win races in terms of as a physical caliphate will be gone by the end of the year but when the black flag was finally lowered some felt the limelight was stolen and used it on the locals to russia's defense ministers reported that the military operation would be east and west banks of the euphrates river is now completed with the full defeat of the terrorists of course that could still be some pockets of resistance but the general
10:36 am
combat actions at this stage and on this territory are over may be due to how their russian claim the moment of glory i want to thank general mattis for doing such a great job with respect to isis he's not the hell out of. myself made it possible with what i'd let you do i think. so instead of celebrating some chose perhaps predictably to squabble over the far north i find it surprising that russia takes all the credit for defeating eisel in reality eisel occupied a large part of syria and iraq and it was the coalition that shrank the territory occupied by the jihadists let's step back and look at how i still lost ground in the south the syrian army backed by russian air power repainted them up from black to damascus red while coalition forces with the help of the kurds did much of the heavy lifting by liberating swathes of northern syria but heaven forbid we should
10:37 am
even consider this a team effort. with the support of the russian air force the syrian army liberated hundreds of cities from territories and returned almost all the country's territory to the government controlled. the u.s. led coalition. the russian federation or syrian regime is the only fields that has made meaningful progress against isis three years the various sides have shared a common goal driving i saw out of syria but now that's been achieved first son the main thing now is taking all the credit it is still absolutely critical to the us role in the world to maintain this this narrative that it is responsible only responsible for. you know the good things that happen in the world while its enemy is ours responsible for all the bad things and unfortunately it sees russia as
10:38 am
not just a competitor but really as an enemy a spark. also a writer abdel bari atwan thinks america should now join russia in withdrawing its forces from syria well actually it is a day of celebrations for russia and its allies in the middle east i believe it is it is actually a huge achievement and president is not only visiting syria he is going to pay another visit to egypt after that he will conclude that i have to visit. to meet the president. of turkey to say that we have to look to the stage altar there are actually the coming days after the victory against isis i mean to make a permanent peace in syria a permanent peace on the middle east us troops in syria was illegal and now a very will be more illegal i think this is
10:39 am
a clear message to the american administration that they should actually pull our troops from syria not only from syria but also from iraq so there is no need for them to be there unless they're american i would like to muddy the water in the middle east. well meanwhile russian president vladimir putin is on a trip across the middle east his latest stop was cairo where he met his egyptian counterpart and dotty's eleven genco was following the talks. a lot when vladimir putin suddenly showed up in syria a little earlier his cairo trip was planned in advance but what kind of timing this is to squeeze in talks with both the president of egypt and turkey in cairo and ankara and here we're talking about a timeframe of just several hours while donald trump's jerusalem move really continues to send shock waves across the entire middle east and as abdel fatah sisi
10:40 am
and vladimir putin were addressing the journalists here at the presidential palace in cairo we heard more condemnation of that move as a seok we were discussing the palestinian issue and especially the situation after the usa decided to recognize drusilla. and to move the u.s. embassy from tel aviv so there is this serious and then jury's decision will have consequences that will influence the resolution of the conflict and the stability of the situation we want to stress this jerusalem should be based on international law and un resolutions otherwise it will worsen the situation in the region egypt and russia support israel and palestine resuming talks over all disputed issues they have including the status of jerusalem the solid agreement that takes into account the interests of both sides should be reached this should be fully in compliance with all international agreements russia fully supports all agreements that were adopted by the united nations we consider any action that anticipates the
10:41 am
outcome for peace talks between israel and palestine counterproductive again this was being said in cairo the egyptian capital where it looks like the arab league is ready to convene and come up with a united official response which will basically mean that it's a response from the entire region but even before this week a lot has been said in front of the microphones and in the streets they cannot opposed people's feelings and beliefs. this is a new type of adventurism and global arrogance of the us. the kingdom of jordan refuses the recognition by the united states so jerusalem is the capital of israel automatic the decision by the united states in its context gives legitimacy and recognition for occupation and the allowance of a de facto status using force and indeed right now it is fair to say that not only the arab world but a broader community is ready to stand up for the palestinians so far the
10:42 am
president of turkey tiber daughter turned out to be the most outspoken and here's what that led to the reason i tell you is row is a terrorist state. i'm not used to receiving. lectures about morality from a leader who bombs kurdish villagers in his native turkey. who dreams dreams. hopes you run your. international sanctions into those journalists but back to vladimir putin's trip as i've said he's got one more destination on monday and that is going to be an karrar where he will have face to face talks with type aired a lot after that we know that they are going to produce a joint statement as well so while we watch out for that. to me one israeli prime minister binyamin netanyahu is continuing his first trip to
10:43 am
europe after america's recognition of jerusalem as israel's capital he's now in brussels and belgian media reports that he was met by a protest against trump's decision though you are cheering the first leg of his trip pro palestinian rally also took place in paris just before netanyahu is a rival. well the israeli prime minister has already met the french president and the e.u. foreign policy chief and so far top european politicians have been making it clear that they don't welcome trump's decision. expressed the prime minister netanyahu my disappointment of the u.s. president's declaration and explain that front sees it is contrary to international law and is dangerous to peace so i think the sooner the problem students come to grips with this reality the sooner we will move towards peace the only realistic solution to the conflicts between israel and palestine is based on two states which are those eleven as the capital of both the state of israel and the state of palestine along the sixty seven line i believe that all. or most of the european
10:44 am
countries will move their embassies to jerusalem recognize crucial in this is rules work up little. britain's prime minister condemned trumps decision as unhelpful adding that she disagrees with the move while germany's foreign minister expressed fears it could worsen the israeli palestinian conflict. now let's return to our breaking news story also it is in new york have confirmed that they believe a blast on the subway it was an attempted terror attack they also said that a low tech device was detonated and police also confirmed that one person also a suspect has known life threatening injuries along with three other people. and here we can see what's believed to be a video of the botched attack you can see here hello by a crowd of point smoke and people fleeing the scene well as the smoke clears one
10:45 am
person can be seen lying on the ground and. no you know we're going to have another problem. well let's discuss this further with our correspondent jacqueline vega was jackie we've seen the pictures then haven't we have new woman can you tell us well things are do you sort of returning back to normal we do have information that the port authority station the bus station main bus station in new york city has reopened and they're working on getting the metro back to full service it all started this morning at seven twenty am when the police were called after reports of an explosion that actually took place in a passageway between two stations that of the port authority in times square station and we do have the new york mayor saying that this was a terrorist attack let's take a listen to what he had to say. this was an attempted terrorist attack. thank god were greater did not. result in the goals. so there we
10:46 am
have him saying this was an attempted terrorist attack at the same time we had the new york police commissioner saying this is a terror related incident and when he was asked by reporters if there was that the connection specifically with someone he said that he did make statements but that he wasn't ready to talk about it at that time we do have a little bit of information on the suspect i believe. this is of a look at some of those details that are coming straight that we can you can see on your screens now i mean look into that his name we've got they want to jack you so you've got a lot isn't it he's a twenty seven year old he's having a go say he's also been injured in the attack itself yes the twenty seven year old believed to be from brooklyn new york and he was burned in the hands of men in the attack along with injuring three other people as well the improvised low tech device was attached to his body according to the new york governor now
10:47 am
they do believe it was an isolated incident that he was working by himself but the new york mayor bill de blasio did say that new york is of course going to see an increased police presence throughout the city especially at all major transport and transport hubs and of course all you know big sites throughout the city. the governor did say that getting this call at seven o'clock in the morning was probably the worst possible might marry the idea of rush hour having explosive device go off in the new york metro during rush hour is of course the worst case scenario and sadly we do have to say that this is sort of the best case the best case to turn out to what could have happened today given that only three people were injured but with life threatening issues so. a president has of course been briefed on what happened this morning in an investigation has been started like i said life. it's sort of returning back to normal things are
10:48 am
opening up but there still is a bunch of trains in the metro being diverted still from that very section so at this point we have to figure out what exactly his motivations were since he is alive and in custody and partly making statements the question is what were his motives because you know we've seen terrorist incidents happen before in new york so it's a question of could it be a along similar lines thank you jack i mean that's exactly the situation i mean just a month ago the city's deputy a time since nine eleven. mr say they've been planning this for a number of weeks you did this in the name of isis.
10:49 am
well joining us live now with the details on the latest attack via skype this correspondent caleb maupin hi there so what more details do we know about today's attack. why don't you just. said i was so. sick at least one new york city fire department is on the scene especially aren't you can we control. the course already building which is the last term we'll. see. to it as you call it so i'll just tell the operational it's once again open losses are once again. however still july is on the subway in the subways are not for what we understand opening up forty such streets still. closed however if you've already seen it. for the stripping locked off and there
10:50 am
are quite a few fire department vehicles around what if you have to. be your goals around to decide for us from what we can see how things are starting to go back to normal here in new york city you know. how strange actually you know you will. be in to do it with only minor. b.c. you just. excites so much to. stare. you seem to want to apologize for the sound quality there from caleb calling in from new york we're trying to get him back a little bit later in the meantime then jackie let's have a quick that basically what caleb was talking about they he said to you as you mentioned earlier that everything was sort of getting back to normal but the scale of this particular operation looking at some of the pictures there how many it had
10:51 am
to be the fire trucks that ambulances everything this was considered even though it wasn't in fact to me i've got into operation like it's a major disaster have very much so and i believe that we can actually show a video of the incident itself we have what looks to be video. of the incident in the metro you can see a blast. ok so we'll go back to that video shortly there this took place in a passageway between two metro stations in the new york underground between the times square metro station and the new york port authority station so we did have the new york mayor bill de blasio coming out and point blank saying that let's be clear this was an attempted terrorist attack so let's take a listen to what he had to say this was an attempted terrorist attack. thank god the perpetrator did not. result in a goal. well as you can hear there from bill from bill de blasio effective you
10:52 am
saying during the confirmation of what we've been hearing about before that he had been attempted terror attack but to begin with from from the police there was very much they kept quiet about it didn't they that would be seen any details until they were sure so much of the information coming to us from social media was exactly at this point we do have the mayor saying it was an attempted terrorist attack and we have the police commissioner saying that it was a terror related in the dent and the police commissioner did in fact say that the suspect was making some statements he is in custody custody in hospital with minor injuries but that the police commissioner was not prepared to comment on whatever statements he was making at the time we do have video of the looks like video of the attack itself that happened in the metro you can see what looks like a blast and then there was just a lot of white smoke filling the whole area with a lot of people of course leaving the scene and at the end of that video that we have that's being shown
10:53 am
a lot on social networks you can see that there's one person remaining laying on the ground it's ideas that's probably the man who carried out the attack in the first place and the police commissioner has said that the suspect is twenty seven year old. it looks like he is a former resident of brooklyn now like i said he's twenty seven year old twenty seven years old and the new york governor said that he had an improvised low tech. device that was attached to his body and so that he intentionally exploded it in the new york metro and of course he was saying that just the idea of getting that call at seven twenty in the morning on a monday morning when everyone's trying to get to work and that's a huge hall in new york city that was just sort of the worst nightmare the idea that there was an explosion there and sadly this turns out to be the best case scenario in the worst case situation where only three. other people were injured
10:54 am
minor injuries they are being treated at hospitals local hospitals as well and you can and as you say i mean looking at the situation by the statement that's been released that that the suspect sustained minor injuries they were strapped to him three people who presumably close to him that were also they suffered minor injuries as well so in looking at this sort of this major scale operation we as i said we saw all the emergency vehicles we could see the police presence we've had for most of the as well the governor of new york in many ways as you said this was the best case scenario in the lead up to christmas at a very heightened political time yes the new york governor did mention that this was a low tech improvised device so clearly this was planned ahead but maybe not planned as well as could have been which we can all be thankful for that it did not there weren't a number of fatalities or anything so at this point the port authority bus station has here opened already and the metro is trying to get back to normal operation
10:55 am
right after the incident took place there was a number of metro stations that were completely evacuated and that bus terminal had been shut down just for the safety of all involved and everyone was of course urging people to stay away from the area but the new york mayor did say that it looks like one individual by himself an isolated event but of course the new york police department will be all over the city today just trying to make sure that there is nothing else to be afraid of and to secure all major sites in the city and it looks like after everything that we've we've heard about today life seems to be getting back to normal in new york which we could be thankful when leave it there thank you and we'll be back with more news at the top of the hour. so there's no those all important as a person but he is important as far as is living would

cause a risk in the regime falling apart so indeed the americans are on the americans for much less to have him leave old all from time to time they keep saying at the again so in the end i think most countries are accepting that they will stay. read it is one of the basic instruments to drive an economy but it can also lead to tragedy i did it i took a lying down just i came to god and meant that the debts tie game and it was spiraling out of control. many lives have been broken really excessive the banks got you into trouble and all the big bankers can't be. on the go on the banks but i just didn't think of the men who lost money through the back under don't buy creditors people see no future bad things happen you know you become ill
