now in essence this is a meeting to discuss a resolution that was proposed by egypt and the resolution is intended to counter and reject the move by donald trump's administration to recognize jerusalem as israel's capital and move the u.s. embassy to israel now the u.s. embassy to jerusalem now it's important to note that though the resolution is aimed at the united states and specifically avoids mentioning the usa the resolution from egypt says it expresses deep regret at recent decisions concerning the status of jerusalem not directly naming the united states in the resolution now nikki haley the u.s. ambassador to the united nations has now indicated that the usa intends to veto this resolution and she when she took the floor she expressed what she has expressed before feeling that the united nations does not treat israel fairly this
