now one of britain's leading girls' schools has decided to stop referring to its pupils as girls in a controversial move to adopt more gender neutral language in grammar school here for girls defended the policy though saying it is trying to breaking grained habits to help students with gender identity issues adding that we welcome and celebrate diversity although the move has got people wondering how the girls' school should now be described.
9:31 am
well the school has come out and said that it has no plans to drop the word girls from its title although we are asked some locals there what they think of the gender neutral policy. i think the majority would be happy to be called ridiculous i think girls are girls and boys are boys there's too many pressures on pupils too much attempt to move everything towards gender neutrality i think it actually leads to more confusion rather than clarification this is a girls' school and it's extraordinary that children are being encouraged to go along the path we're going to have more and more children with mental health problems who are confused and unhappy by all means support children who have a gender issue but don't do it at the expense of the majority do not rob them of
9:32 am
their gender identity we only need to apply those basic principles of religions that we treat other people how we wish to be treated and we solve the problem we need to stop for a sting pushing adult neuroses onto these young children. a deadline is looming for the u.s. president and whether to extend sanctions relief for iran as part of the nuclear deal struck back in twenty fifteen trump though is a vocal opponent of the green mint and u.s. officials and are suggesting new restrictions could in fact be imposed i am expecting new sanctions on iran we continue to look at them we've rolled them out and i think. you can expect there will be more sanctions coming well ahead of america's decision the french president did tell tramp that they were in favor of a strict application of the green and this echoed a statement today from other european countries british values which is the p.o.
9:33 am
way that you deal with. the deal it's working we want to. protect just a few a few white support for this to make sure that the lifting of nuclear related sanctions has a positive impact on trade iran is in compliance with this agreement of the only agreement which prevents. as for the proliferation of nuclear weapons it's crucial for the security of the region but also saw for the security of the little while the iran nuclear deal was signed in two thousand and fifteen after nine years of talks with six other countries including the u.s. and it was seen as a major breakthrough ending a long running confrontation but washington now insists the deal allows to run to expand its nuclear capabilities with a lot at stake we've been hearing how the disagreement is driving a wedge between america and its allies what we see at the moment we see a historic drift between the united states. and the e.u.
9:34 am
we never ever seen such a gap such distance between the e.u. and the u.s. at least over the last thirty or forty years or so what happened in brussels was really interesting effectively for every important player in the e.u. defied the verdicts of president trump the main target is really to press pressure of the american government. to stick to deal to do nuclear deal with iran that is the main objective i believe from the e.u. side not just the e.u. as a whole but also through france and germany as separate member states of the u.n. security council what would happen if really the u.s. stepped out of the deal this is not something like like the climate the climate agreement this is something that would be much worse consequences. but it's not just over iran where the u.s.

is being called to account at the moment their new ambassador to the netherlands has come under fire from journalists it is very first news conference there because he refused to defend previous remarks on the influence of ice or in europe and he's not the only one trying to give the press the slip. but it wasn't for. you should the statement that i'm not revisiting you should not last year you said this is important is that something you believe you swallow. i'm not sure this is an issue. why don't you i'm sort of question my answer the question that this is not how it works or this is not an answer yes i have answered questions. we're going to use cluster weapons in the end this is not the question because you're just focusing your life but i guess there are no yes. thank you.

i played for many clubs over the years so i know the game and so i got. the ball isn't only about what happens on the pitch for the final school it's about the passion from the families it's the age of the shaper money killed and spending two to twenty million. it's an experience like nothing else because i want to share what i think what i know about the beautiful guy a great chance for. the six. thanks again wiki leaks founder julian assange has been granted citizenship by
9:38 am
ecuador who's london embassy he's been living in since twenty twelve after he saw political asylum and although there is still widespread suspicion that the u.s. wants to extradite him washington officials would not be drawn on the speculation. put your doubts that it's granted nationality we could leaks founder julian signs does the president agree or disagree with this decision by the ecuadorians i haven't spoken to him about we don't discuss whether we are considering bringing julian assange to the united states for trial. while the u.k. and ecuador do have different ideas over what granting a sonde citizenship could actually achieve ecuadorian officials say gives him an extra layer of protection towards finding a solution to let him leave their embassy but britain says the only way to resolve the issue is for us to surrender to face justice we've been asking some people in ecuador what they think. it's vital to continue negotiating the
9:39 am
situation is difficult being incarcerated for several years is dangerous to health we all know that the objective behind the trials has nothing to do with the song to wiki leaks there's a real possibility of extradition to the us. at the end i think it sounds was treated inhumanely during the entire trial process a prisoner without a fixed sentence and with rights to defend. him when i go then so just to recap to disarm just been holed up in ecuador's london embassy for more than five years after swedish prosecutors began investigating sex assault allegations against him british authorities are also after a songe to you after he jumped bail when he went into hiding at the embassy and the u.s. has long been trying to get its hands on the whistleblower for leaking a vast amount of classified documents on wiki leaks but we discuss the options facing a stange with the social justice campaign in george barda he thinks that the political
9:40 am
stakes for britain the way legal concerns the basis on which the the u.k. authorities would arrest him apparently is for breaking bad conditions for the charges in terms of the case in sweden that has now been dropped but absolutely maybe there will be an extradition attempt and various kind of international bodies have found when they looked into it the chance of getting a free and fair trial in the u.s. of minimal with the robert miller investigation and the allegations about collusion between the trunk campaign and wiki leaks there's obviously a. sort of politicize ation element potentially around this case with bricks it looming the u.k. obviously wants a positive treatment from the u.s. as it leaves europe and in terms of potential trade deal you know so there are concerns obviously this will this will be. rooted politically rather than legally.
9:41 am
now months of political deadlock in germany could soon be over after days of coalition talks do appear to have resulted in a breakthrough there will be can go live now to our correspondent in berlin for the latest shuttle charlotte then just bring us up to speed what's happened is germany any closer to getting that coalition government. well what we understand is that a blueprint a twenty eight page document has been agreed on by the parties but let's be clear this is not a coalition agreement we still have a long way to go before that can actually take place now as we know it's been very hard work getting here it's been more than three months in the making with angela merkel's conservatives already failing with coalition talks with a smaller number of parties and the social democrats didn't even want to come to the table at first but here they are and it does look like they are forming some set of agreement at the moment it is more than three months since the german
9:42 am
elections took place meaning that this is now the longest period of coalition building in post-war germany so what's next well if this blueprint is agreed it will be taken by martin short's to his party the social democrats who will all have to vote on whether they agree on the blueprint that's due to take place on january twenty first if they agree then and only then the foregoing coalition talks can actually begin and there are many issues that they will have to thrash through some tricky issues that they are in disagreement over such as tax such as the military europe and of course immigration and refugees although we do understand that one of the thorniest issue this is over the family reunification of refugees it's being reported by the german press agency that they have come to an agreement on that they will limit that number of family reunification refugees at one thousand people per month but still many other issues to discuss and of course this comes at
9:43 am
a time when many germans perhaps don't have the appetite for yet another grand coalition between these parties a recent poll by a german public broadcaster here showed that fifty two percent of people didn't want to see another growing coalition and mrs merkel herself has been seeing her popularity wavering in polls as the stalemate. have continued over the last three months we are expecting a press conference for an announcement for confirmation of that blueprint in the next half an hour or so and of course we'll bring you up to date on that but it does seem as if a new german government could possibly be soon on the horizon. ok thanks charlotte the charlotte busy for him berlin. brand new u.s. submarine project set to be delivered in twenty thirty one could be left dead in the water before it's even got going it is being compared to america's most costly
9:44 am
fighter jet the f. thirty five which has been widely slammed by experts for its technical failure to santiago reports. meet the colombia class submarines the u.s. navy's in business project to replace old nuclear submarines said to be decommissioned from twenty twenty seven twelve ballistic missile submarines all carry seventy percent of america's nuclear arsenal and are supposed to be packed with new technologies the columbia class submarine program is well positioned to provide needed capability at an affordable price on the time i need to meet national strategic deterrent requirements the new class isn't expected to enter service until twenty thirty one but already at a design stage it's causing some huge concerns the u.s. government accountability office is latest report highlights quite a few problems with the super project some of theology is yet to be developed heavy deal laser expected and the costs could skyrocket columbia class is not funded on
9:45 am
too quickly to address program risks this is more like with no the columbia class program will exceed the navy's one hundred twenty eight billion estimate of total acquisition cost. expensive and of big strategic importance ring a bell anyone columbia submarines are already being compared to the f. thirty five fighter jet the u.s. military's most costly and arguably most miss civitas project the f. thirty five assessment reports have pointed to at least two hundred seventy six deficiencies in combat performance marked as critical so correct from unacceptable flight performance when breaking the sound barrier to overheating problems and cyber security vulnerabilities hundreds of issues of all kinds.
9:46 am
so why would the us pursue another ambitious project and insist it's flawless despite worrying assessments called front loading you make a lot of big promises up front that this wonderful new technology is going to work just perfectly and then you hook in congress to commit to funding something like this and as with the f. thirty five once things don't work as play and then it's not very easy to get off the hook because they've already committed the money upfront to get the project started it's something that the that the military industrial complex together with the pentagon has done for decades congress has a long history of appropriating money for a weapon systems and other military equipment that the pentagon neither want nor needs so ultimately this is a political issue where you see unfortunately the columbia class submarine could mark the next big sinking of american taxpayers' money i mean look the u.s. has the largest military budget of ball yet
9:47 am

9:55 am
a second division team i really love that we did well and. i think it ceased and then this club picked me up and i been there for four years now and i just love it it's the closest thing that you can get to being a player and so you miss it to where you number she's managed you want to go back to england where you play. burnell france or italy or spain is it is it paul the plan it's part of my. my dream. but i i'm in no rush i have. well not plenty of time but i have some time i'm getting older but i'd like to go abroad and it's difficult to say i mean the region manages inning and hasn't been really successful but. i want to go abroad and see what i can do and i definitely want to go to a bigger club with bigger resources that can win leagues at least titles and this club that's going to be difficult so we'll be building clubs here. building this
9:56 am
club over four years and. it's a limited it's limited to how far i can go here. in the dressing room the quotes one from pep guardiola mum from sir alex ferguson. inspirational quotes which is normal married dressing rooms. managerial inspirations i think have taken. a little bit from from many also from people who haven't. been playing around for years as a leader more maybe as a coach marine you as a coach. thorough. planned everything is in a structured us everything is and also how he does everything to win and he's prepared to do everything sacrificed everything to win and sometimes it goes over the line i think but. i try to steal from every i could be from a second. coach here in this country could be from from tried to still.
9:57 am
come. on to ninety four world cup second ranked team in the world in the mid ninety's the norwegian national eighty fifth and i. experience then why was that norwegian seem so special in the made known to us. why is the bring the drop off it was a big generation from the guys born in sixty eight sixty nine seventy maybe seventy one it was and it was also a time when. when england open up a little bit for foreigners and the reason players got really popular they also got to play regularly in the top teams and that for me it made all the difference. when we then came and played hole and in england we were like baffled by the situations we thought we could we could win i think in ninety five ninety six in that period we had over twenty players playing in top teams and playing regularly and now.
9:58 am
they're hardly any. king but i think that it's got to do with the football is good but that the football caught up with us a little bit we did some stuff in that period organizing the football being playing for five one really cynical football very direct very good playing in the zone of defense system that we did really well now the team it's different cultures different opposition i think that the teams around us is caught up with the us over time and we haven't been doing good work in this country for many years so i think for us we need to find sort of a nice that we could be really good at and we could start climbing but we've never been able to again never would never happen would you be interested in managing the low wage national team at some stage in your career maybe in ten fifteen years that would probably feel natural and the right place to be so you're in long term we do
9:59 am
that and you also see you know we got. you know all of their coaching. fifteen sixteen seventeen so they're in there and i think that the whole the whole group from the from that generation is sort of dominating the football at the moment and i think that's good we'll develop. our game from that. i don't think it's just me want to be a national coach about ten or fifteen years as a few others i think i want to be as well from my from my job. daily what would laws by going to be doing in the next five or ten used on what would the career path big get a bigger club in norway. and do well with and move abroad and the most natural thing for no reason coaches to i do go to to denmark or to to sweden and if you get one of those clubs and then you do well done and i think that . it would or could be realistic to to talk about them and if you look at some of
10:00 am
the other courses that we've had like stalled us or bucket it was a move so yeah. we tend to go go that route over all of the they don't go from norway and straight that we don't know germany or poland like that it needs to be a career that's been built up so they see that you can manage different levels of football and at the moment i'm at the bottom level so i got a few steps to go last thank you good good thanks good to see a pleasure. join us off the breakers we speak it's a form of woke up golden bear when a governing the calf stayed with us. unfortunately it appears that once people learn that you've reported a sexual assault or may have been involved in an incident that day becomes scared
