why because they don't want them to advance furthermore to the areas where they are keep i was the oil rich obviously all rich areas and there is sore and as well they want to keep away from the as the so-called s.d.f. which we don't have real information about except the fact that they were isis members that evaporated and then there was something different for you so we have all the kurds that we are talking about here so it's really interesting and it's really it's really amazing how they suddenly evaporate you know they're just terrible if that out that's what happens here ok bellamy let me go to you here i mean this is the united states i mean it's interesting the area of northern syria there that's really serious all is ok and denying syria the ability to rebuild is when in fact you know telling the entire world that they will be sanctioned if you give money to the government in damascus to rebuild another round of sanctions against rebuilding a country that the united states is it has
9:01 pm
a great deal of responsibility for destroying in the first place go ahead in london well i believe united states realized they were defeated in syria been a project in syria was completely defeated russia hands. i mean could be that the building of syria again so at least building needs money and syria needs the oil guys which is. where the oil fields are situated so it seems that america would like to prevent syria prevent the russian from actually putting their hands on the old reserves as it is so i don't think they will succeed here i have a lot of. information saying that the next stage could be actually a war against american forces in syria and also in iraq so if this happened like what happened after the american your. you know back in two
9:02 pm
thousand and three i think this would be the of us they think the united states i believe but i sure would than fat going to five it's second five and actually that heavy price which they paid in syria since they're two thousand and fifty and they love it they pay that money let me know with include them anything when we let me jump in we're going to go to a short break and i'd like to point out to everyone since the pentagon can do anything it wants because it has more money than god right now it is no longer a political issue in the united states that's a tragedy we're going to go to a short break and after that short break we'll continue our discussion on what's next for syria state. about your sudden passing i've only just learned you worry yourself and taken your last turn. to us we all knew it would i tell you i'm sorry.

so i write these last words in hopes to put to rest these things that i never got off my chest. i remember when we first met my life turned on each other. but then my feelings started to change you talked about war like it was a can still some are fond of you those that didn't like to question our ark and i secretly promised to never be like it's one does not leave a funeral the same as one enters the mind it's consumed with this one. speech there were no other takers. the same that mainstream media has met its make. everybody i'm stephen ball. test hollywood guy you'll suspect every proud american first of all i'm just george bush and our. feel to say this is my buddy
9:04 pm

9:05 pm
part of our. lives that some of it is just almost trying. to put down for us to gather some awesome all this. welcome back across the uk where all things are considered i'm peter reminder we're discussing what's next for syria.
9:06 pm
ok let me go back to mohammed into and i mean i started out by talking about this conference that's scheduled for a symbol that will turkey russia and iran mohammad it's really interesting what's going on with turkey here because again they're butting heads with the u.s. in northern syria and i'm not giving any and just a vacation for the illegal invasion of syria by turkey but the interesting gambit that is being played out here is the two most important countries in nato are at odds with each other in a third country that has nothing to do with nato nato sphere of influence has put it that way. the interesting thing is that you see the turks are really looking at different options right now ok i'm not convinced the most reliable partner but a lot of people feel that way including nato and so we'll see i think we're seeing a real drift here i don't think turkey would give up nato they would want something
9:07 pm
forward ok a lot of people are saying they got to walk away and i know they'll leverage their way one way or another but that's really the changing shifting sands of what's going on because of this proxy war in syria go ahead and. well trump actually promised the turkish president the u.s. will stop funding the g. which is carefully a terrorist organization that's killed many turks and then almost immediately afterwards the military and the united states started to make noises. we will continue to support. democratic forces which basically is a front for. the k.k. and so it's one wonders who's in charge exactly the united states in this sort of reminds one of what happened in two thousand and sixteen when the u.s. administration and the u.s. secretary of state at that time he made. in agreement with the russians and then
9:08 pm
almost immediately afterwards as you are her. bombs here in positions and they are those who are killing almost one hundred syrian soldiers and and immediately afterwards isis attacked their positions and took those positions as if they were. as if they knew what was about to happen so the united states is i think it's unclear who's in charge but we do know that trump has given the huge amount of authority to the military and the people in charge right now in the united states the sort of joint mcmaster kelly and they're they're close friend. petraeus these people. they are revisionist alessa crook of congress conflicts forum the head of conflicts form wrote a very interesting article recently showing how these people mattis as well that these people are revisionists vietnam revisionists and they believe that if the
9:09 pm
united states army had been the not armed forces had been given the authority to you know destroy north vietnam that they would have won the war and if it wasn't for the politicians and the military command the united states could have won so these are the sort of people with that sort of mentality and i think that that may partially be part of the reason why they're taking such a hard stand well it's in northern syria it's very i think a nobody but america it's very interesting there is it's very interesting though that it's harry truman would have given macarthur that kind of authority we would have had the third world war in you know if the general's report was a politician but it's a politician is a wall and i think that's the case right now this is what we get when you go tomorrow and in beirut it's go a little bit closer to home to you there's a lot of open chatter right now with the israel's heightened involvement i mean it's you know what is it over the even the last year it was illegally. violated
9:10 pm
syria's airspace looks like now the syrians are not accepting that and they're making it very clear but there's a lot of talk chatter that israel is eyeing another war against hezbollah again fighting a war against lebanon and it seems this all kind of goes into it because that is the paradigm. that's their narrative right here interestingly enough you have the united states based in syria as well i mean all the puzzle pieces seem to be coming together go ahead in beirut. yes i definitely agree with that specially after the blow that was taken by the israeli occupation air force on saturday when the jet when the f. sixteen jet was downed by the syrian arab army over a syrian land i mean they were hoping for some kind of award to start whether in the southern part of syria or with lebanon for that matter but after that head they are now thinking a thousand times before they do so even at dawn on thursday this week surveyed in
9:11 pm
the strong was sent from israel into syrian territory and was also attacked by the syrian missile system i'm sorry in the aircraft system and they fled they went back into palestinian occupied territory so now even a drone a survivor the strawman is not being able to go and attack the sovereignty of syria for that matter now when we talk about a possible war between hezbollah and the israeli entity i don't think that the front would be this time the southern part of lebanon the southern border with occupied palestine i think that the syrian golan heights would be the great place that we should all put our eyes into because first of all that's an occupied territory second of all it has been for the past six years at least where the resistance the armed forces of the resistance whether hezbollah or other allies have been putting their efforts in there to try and start some sort of a new front with the israeli entity because that's the front that israel is most of radar. so it's continue with. with syria here i mean when
9:12 pm
we hear again from the trumpet ministration assad must go here i mean what is that what does that mean is that the justification for the united states to say in syria because it's how we started out the program mean why does the united states want to stay in syria and not make peace in the leave like everybody wants them to leave everyone does including their sometimes on and off friends in iraq go ahead in london. peter i agree with you there phonetically that american military presence in syria and iraq actually is not the legitimate one now that syrians and the iraqi are calling for the americans to pull out their troops because they don't want them anymore simply because they where to fight the islamic state there is no more islamic state as they put it in that or as they were talking about now the situation is completely different about two weeks ago the israeli
9:13 pm
media was talking about some sort of agreement between the united states and israel to destabilize iran and syria and it seems that that downing of the israeli f. sixteen s on this on the syrian after the sit in that attack actually it means that it is a clear message from russia to the united states to israel that we are not going to go ahead with this plans to destabilize so it's nice to have realized that iran and syria so i think the american will face a huge trouble that are russia as of last year now is strong there and russia has the upper hand in syria turkey is turning against america saying that you stepped out on the back you will see you not five times more vietnam experience and syria and in the region so it's the syria now actually threatening that any israeli warplanes violated their airspace will be shut down so i believe it is it is
9:14 pm
tension but that the three major power superpower in the region iraq turkey sorry. tacky and the russia they are actually waiting for the american to do something stupid and i believe when hezbollah got about a hundred and fifty thousand missiles and we don't know how many. thousands or one hundred thousand. and that on arsenal or in the theater i believe that is huge now and we have to wait for idea to go on for hours and it will be time and this field what i think also that the two the two tripping points the tipping points that i'm worried about is israel attacking lebanon again i mean if you listen to israeli military officials active duty and retired it's full on the airwaves of course it's never reported in western media never report it never hear about that mohammad let
9:15 pm
me go go to you i mean if you look at the israeli criticism and justification for its violation of syrian airspace the los recent spat it's all because iran has bases supplies there they are if it was if syria doesn't even exist ok but of course it doesn't exist in the minds of really foreign policy makers it doesn't at all there are no sovereign countries around israel there's places where you could go metal but that's what when i looked at the response of course it was echoed like a stir in washington d.c. they said exactly the same thing as the israelis but it's really directed against iran and. adel said something a few minutes ago waiting for the americans to do something stupid well the stupid thing it would be in conjunction with israel attacking around go ahead. well this really is like to use iran as a scapegoat to justify their aggression on neighboring countries and also subjugate
9:16 pm
the palestinian people is very similar to what it's for apartheid regime in south africa used to do when they were demonized they end the now and then they end they were communists and in the west they passed laws against them too in the united states they and the was a terrorist organization and so was president mandela when he was president the law wasn't changed so when he would go to the united nations general assembly he'd have to get special permission the present. south africa to enter the country because he was the head of. a terrorist organization so that's by using communism apartheid south africa a person with those policies against neighboring countries in the end of the african majority the black majority and israeli regime the apartheid regime just the same but i think there is a big difference now today then before first of all israel israel does not have the mabel superiority that it had before its its trade is vulnerable to missiles from in the mediterranean its air superiority is questionable and i personally think
9:17 pm
that there are there are more advanced surface to air missiles out there that are being kept under lock and key in on the ground israelis have lost the war to hezbollah before and this time around you have syria two you have gaza and you have many people the people from the popular mobilization force in iraq who would come to the aid of syria and hezbollah are there if there is a war and the government in lebanon unlike before is that is supports the resistance in southern lebanon so i don't think it is go at all a winnable war. one thing we can do we're or i wouldn't run out of much more devastating time but with what we've discussed in this program is certainly in the shifting sands in the region many thanks to my guests in london beirut and in iran and thanks to our viewers for watching us here darkie c.n.n. and remember it's.

twenty four you know bloody revolution. the demonstrations going to be relatively peaceful political protests to be increasingly violent. revolution is always spontaneous. is it your goal here i mean your list would be would really mean the neighbor loses out of the new school in the middle. the former ukrainian president recalls the events of twenty fourteen. those who took part in this today over five billion dollars to assist ukraine in these and other calls that will ensure a secure and prosperous and democratic. palestine is getting international recognition with the help of israel at least in the world of zoos and nimble fiddlestick misted you like you know. this isn't my

breaking news this hour the united states indicts thirteen russian nationals over alleged online meddling in america's twenty sixteen presidential election while moscow points out the absurdity of the accusations. on a visit to ankara america's top diplomat attempts to improve worsening relations with. turkey as tensions grow in syria over washington support for kurdish groups that he considers terrorist. and the olympic spirit is being embraced by compared to this around the world at the winter games in south korea with rivals there helping each other out. brazil specific russian athlete he offered me how technical help he was willing to reach out and help me in sites like desperate
9:21 pm
times shows that sport can bridge you know cultures it can bridge politics. welcome on into the this is r.t. international straight to our top story this hour is that the united states justice department has indicted thirteen russian nationals over alleged meddling in america's twenty sixteen presidential election. there's been the line now live from new york bring us up to date. well it's being widely reported that these individuals thirteen russian individuals as well as three russian entities are being charged with meddling in the u.s. election but if you actually read the indictment there are specific charges there is no such crime under the u.s. federal laws known as meddling at this point they're being charged with conspiracy
9:22 pm
to defraud the united states as well as violations of the federal elections commission is act and the foreign agents registration act essentially it's alleged that these thirteen people as well as three entities purchased advertisements on social media and gaged in some banks transactions and tried to influence the elections of the united states they supposedly were disparaging hillary clinton and favoring donald trump that's the allegation the documents the indictment talks about information warfare against the united states and now these individuals that are charged none of them are actually in the united states these individuals are actually in russia it is the justice department has admitted that they have not tried to contact these individuals but that they will follow the normal extradition process i am trying to get them to come to the united states to stand trial the chances of russia actually extraditing these individuals are rather slim now this
9:23 pm
is just the latest in the ongoing bob muller special counsel investigation being conducted by the department of justice into allegations that trump allegedly colluded with russia during the presidential elections and that russia is somehow responsible for the election results and now at this point there has already been testimony before the u.s. congress about the impact of these alleged facebook ads and how they may have determined the elections this is some of what we heard before the u.s. congress showing that the impact of these ads may not be as broad as some of the mainstream media reports seem to hint this is what we heard. they found portals into our society russia has harnessed the tremendous and quite frankly to me frightening power of social media their goal is to be very dose and discredit her democracy very are using our own social networks our friendships our
9:24 pm
families and our biases and a few points against us from bernard like wildfire. we determined that the number of accounts we could link to russia and that we're tweeting election related content was comparatively small. aggregate of these ads and posts were a very small fraction of the overall content on facebook but any amount is too much . these videos mostly have low view counts.
9:25 pm
now the indictments serve almost as defacto sanctions against the individuals and entities listed while these individuals what we apprehended in russia and taken to the usa they certainly won't be traveling to the united states they'll be unable to set up bank accounts and such so these are almost serving as defacto sanctions we do have a response to today's indictments from the spokesperson for the russian foreign ministry she used the word absurd when responding to these indictments this is what we heard from the russian foreign minister equivocation. turns out there were thirteen of them according to the u.s. justice department thirteen people were meddling in the u.s. election thirteen against the billion dollar budgets of the intelligence agencies against the intelligence and counted halogens against the state of the art technologies absurd yes but this is america's modern political reality by the way
9:26 pm
why thirteen apparently that's the only number with bad associations and that's their only hope. now at this point we also have a response from the president of the united states donald trump who earlier was briefed by the department of justice prior to their releasing of this indictment now donald trump stated on twitter he said russia started their anti us campaign in two thousand and fourteen long before i announce that i would run for president the results of the election were not impacted and the trump campaign did nothing wrong and he repeated the phrase often used throughout the process he repeated the phrase ending his tweet with no collusion furthermore we have a statement from the white house press secretary on behalf of the white house in which they urged americans to unite against what they called bad actors saying that americans must unite to protect the integrity of democracy and elections urging urging urging folks to not focus on the divisions of the allegations of collusion
9:27 pm
but rather focus on uniting against russia so at this point now we have also heard in russian media there has been a response from the individual named in the indictment and call him kind of the mastermind the first individual listed in the indictment has responded saying that americans are very impressionable and that if you want to find a devil it's easy to find one so this is this is a wide ranging response from from the world that we've heard from trump we've heard from the individuals indicted we've heard from the russian foreign ministry everyone responding to this move by the u.s. department of justice. many thanks our correspondent caleb maupin bring is right today thank you. ok let's bring in joe laurie he's an independent journalist author and a former wall street journal correspondent i speak to you again joe first of all your reaction to these indicted and it's you know. when i saw the headline this
9:28 pm
morning i said well this is it maybe this is what we've been waiting for they caught the guys who hacked into the d.n.c. and the protest e-mails and then i started reading the story and then later the entire indictment and it's just more smoke. clouding up this controversy over russia gate there's two main points here that need to be emphasized one there is no link to the kremlin to the russian government whatsoever and here although the document the indictment is quite insidious in implying that there may have been because internet research agency which is a private company based in petersburg has had a contract with the russian government for but not in this case that indictment does not say that the second important matter in here is that some of these thirteen and i did people from the internet research company interacted with members of the trump campaign or trump supporters but the campaign supporters were unwitting in other words they didn't know there was speaking to russians because
9:29 pm
this was online done in person that they thought these were other americans so that right there does not advance to the collusion between the term campaign and russia to throw this alexion one inch there is nothing to do with that so it doesn't want the government to this and doesn't like the trim campaign to do that so what is this really doing it is telling us that this company bought one hundred thousand dollars or so of facebook ads with ads that had a marginal impact fifty percent of these ads took place apparently after the election took place a lot of money not in the do with the election. and also they talk about these people coming to the u.s. and gauging intelligence work and writing intelligence reports this is another very devious i think insidious way to describe what. these people were doing now i'm not going to say that there weren't some crimes committed here like not registering as a foreign agent if indeed they came to the us they may have one person engaged in identity theft if indeed they used real americans and with a real social security numbers which you've seen for example the israeli
9:30 pm
intelligence mossad do quite often if they did that this is criminal activity but it does not move forward the entire gate conspiracy story but i'm sure that corporate america media in america is going to be very very excited about this to continue to push that false narrative so far false narrative why are we hearing this from forgive me if i misunderstood i thought he was investigating collusion between donald trump and russia this provides no evidence so why is my listening anything at all if he has nothing to produce well because his mandate is quite wide he can he could investigate anything that he comes up with the coding poem and for its financial crimes way before he joined the campaign that is his legal remit but it but politically speaking it doesn't have anything to do with the trump collusion so allegation and this doesn't advance that at all as well so he has to come up with something to answer your question neal he has to come up with something and he knows that the corporate media.
