russia's foreign minister demands answers over the poisoning of a former double agent and his daughter in britain and accuses the u.k. of going too far with its allegations. the white house reveals that donald trump advised middle recently discussed plans for a meeting in washington. militants are on the move in the syrian city of goma in eastern russia says over a thousand people have left the area since sunday going back gratian deal with rebel groups. and israel suspends a deal with the un to resettle african migrants to western countries while italy and germany say that they are unaware of any such agreement.
7:01 pm
are broadcasting live from our studios in moscow this is our two international thomas certainly glad to have you with us now the russian foreign minister says the u.k. has gone too far with its accusations over the poisoning of sergei screwball and his daughter are often joined my colleague khan brain a studio earlier to discuss the latest statement from sergey lavrov. that if you will not be possible to get away from the question since that's obvious no one else is on british colleagues have. you just described the russian foreign minister has focused in detail on everything going on in this cripple case first and foremost he said that he's very glad that the daughter of the russian citizen yulia recovering and he's also said that he hopes that her father on the mend to also he has stressed. russia still has
7:02 pm
a lot of questions that has asked repeatedly but which remain unanswered pretty much russia even wrote an official mail an official letter to the o.p.c. w. those questions include some technical details that russia has inquired to the c.w. asking them what information the u.k. has passed to the un nobody regarding the investigation because this is something that london is refusing to share with moscow and whether or not the o.p.c. w. in turn will be sharing that with russia russia's been asking these questions since day one since this horrible incident took place where does russia hope to get any answers to any of these quest while in fact russia is hoping to get some answers as early as this wednesday because this is when the o.p.c. w. members are meeting and this is a summit initiated by russia so this is why sergei lavrov hopes to get at least something out of the u.n. body on wednesday. in the beauty of our colleagues to answer the questions you
7:03 pm
want it's a work of fiction and be more specific. and so in general the russian foreign minister has expressed concern about the bloc of countries who seem to have agreed to pin everything on more school because in their opinion it seems it's not an investigation into who is behind the assassination attempt but more like how russia did or did putin give a direct order to its agents to go and assassinate sergei script and his daughter or whether or not russia just lost track of the nerve agent and did mr lavrov have anything to say about how russia's going to respond to those claims well he said that russia has no motive in this that russia that for at least a decade russia has no beef with the script because in two thousand and ten that's when the double agents were put to place between moscow and london so that that's pretty much what closed the book on this for russia. in terms of the news coverage even though. really you know further forward weeks on from all this it's really not
7:04 pm
stopped the headlines spinning and spinning out of the media the reviving the story and they're basically using standard playbook like when you don't know what to say when the seems that everything has slowed down significantly you bring sources have a listen source briefed on the investigation tell c.n.n. they believe a move like that was too sophisticated for a rogue agent and likely needed kremlin approval so when you are citing a source it means that you have some inside information from the investigation and it's not clear why this c.n.n. needed exactly this in this particular situation because linking the kremlin directly to the assassination attempt is something that both trees are made the prime minister and boris johnson the foreign secretary have been saying for a long time now so it's not exactly some classified information also another point that they're making is the attack was sophisticated and only a government could be behind it so. how come it is
7:05 pm
a sophisticated attack and if it is sophisticated it's supposed to be performed and carried out on a very professional level and in this case it looks very sloppy so russia is indeed intending to get its its questions answered into ending to get answers to its questions and so he's hoping to get those as early as wednesday job politics writer david swanson says despite information being scares the media has already delivered its verdict. well it's not a judicial procedure this is not something brought to arbitration this is not the world court this is an accusation through the media and so russia is not being told very much and the public is not being told very much and of course that makes many of us sceptical but we just can't know whether the accusations are are true or not until we're shown some evidence
7:06 pm
a number of western countries say the entire world is on their side against russia whoops patience is wrong they're wearing thin with president putin and his actions will stand with our british allies and the rest of the civilized world in denouncing the brazen and brutal chemical attack carried out against the united kingdom it has become clear that russia is behind this put to kill innocent civilians with the banned nerve agent. so let's take a look at the global backing that british and american officials say that they have over the nerve agent attack on solsbury it seems many countries are showing their support our nato members but even among them there is still some uncertainty here is that david swanson again. well i think they think of themselves as the world the international community which is always just a handful of nations that calls itself that of but you know in the united states here we've become very used to baseless accusations against russia and so some of
7:07 pm
us are very skeptical regardless of the position taken by our governments we can't know whether an accusation is true or not until they show us some evidence and rather than showing us some evidence that they're working on expelling diplomats and pressuring other countries to expel diplomats which seems like a way to cut off communications or you diplomats jobs are to interact when there are disagreements and if you get rid of them you're talking about you know not having communications other than by means of military force. well amid worsening relations between russia and the west there could be some good news on the horizon the white house could host a meeting between the u.s. and russian presidents are to samir khan has a story we'll hear the latest details on last month's phone call between president putin and president trump now back on march twentieth donald trump called to congratulate president putin on his reelection this wolf was criticized by many in
7:08 pm
the american media according to the russian aide to president putin and the white house spokesperson a bilateral meeting was planned during the phone call but today we've learned that during that conversation trump invited president putin to visit washington d.c. but just as a reminder the phone call happened before the u.s. expelled sixteen russian diplomats over the poisoning of a russian ex-wife with russia being blamed for it of course and then russia responded in a tit for tat measure announcing the expulsion of sixty eight u.s. diplomats but the kremlin says that no meeting preparations have been made at the time but according to president putin's aide the white house was discussed as one of the possible venue's so we'll just have to see how this all plays out. the evacuation of militants from the syrian city of douma in eastern good is under way since sunday more than a thousand militants have left douma the last rebel stronghold in the besieged area
7:09 pm
and this is according to the russian defense ministry journalist muhammad ali is in damascus with the latest the first batch of fertilisation islam militants to started leaving the town of doom and easter and the buses are now lining up at the outskirts of easton hutto picking up more militants oppositionists them and their families it is expected that at least fifty buses will be exiting from. the final number is set on the outskirts of easton i would say they will be heading towards northern syria the border town. in the northern country sort of a look though this will be the first batch following of course reaching that deal brokered by russia between the syrian army and this particularly militant group according to reports coming from inside duma there is a kind of division among the group leaders of this militant group on getting out or not but eventually it seems that the deal has been reached and they have started getting out in the boonies resistance movement hezbollah on its social media
7:10 pm
accounts published some of the items of this deal the. militants will have to surrender their heavy and medium weapons to the syrian army before leaving they can only take with them in their individual life questions like clash and of course or something also very important item in the deal is regarding the fate of thousands of both the civilians and army personnel kidnapped by just a standard in the past five or six years believe those are believed to be believed to be inside the prisons official islam particularly and to a prison inside duma according to that report the deal stipulates that there will be a work team formed and it will be headed by russia and included there will be representatives of the syrian government and also representatives of states which are guarantors in the estonia talks meaning iran and turkey on supervising the process of the release of those kidnapped civilians and army personnel.
7:11 pm
from the beginning. israel has suspended a deal to resettle african migrants that story much more when we come back you are watching our two international.
7:12 pm
if you don't. know. that. you speak french. university has disappointed many because she is white many users on twitter have questioned why the brooklyn museum didn't find an african-american for the job some say such incidents are a common occurrence now the brooklyn museum however has defended its choice adding
7:13 pm
that it took all concerns into account. now there's another race controversy making headlines in the u.s. as well a video of a school performance in the u.s. city of atlanta has gone viral online showing second grade children reading a poem to mark black history month and some viewers may find the following clip offensive take a look. the children were wearing caricature black face masks while reciting a poem in one thousand nine hundred african american author about racial oppression the performance sparked outrage among the parents and online the school has issued an apology saying that the decision was wrong and it promised to make sure that teachers are educated on cultural competency and for some reaction on these stories we can bring in legal commentator horace cooper and indigo writer and
7:14 pm
activist. thank you very much for being with us here on r t international. you know when it comes to issues of race it is always a very tense and delicate subject. let's talk about the brooklyn museum first should skin color have been a decisive factor in choosing this person for the job and i guess horse we can go to you first. absolutely not i think it's very disappointing i mean excellence should always be the criteria and i think if people have a preordained idea about what the gender or racial makeup of a given candidate is going to be those people i think need to explain things but when you're looking for the top tier candidate that's the question to ask is this particular person amazing remarkable and exceptional if this person is and by all
7:15 pm
accounts she is then that should be the end of the conversation do you have any comment on this do you think that the appointment was appropriate. and i think it's interesting we think about criteria for who it is that we want to bring in to a position. and it's not unusual to disarm and that we need to ensure that people who have. cultural understanding something you know there must have been this you know of when it comes to who's in who's it that who's making those as asians and not having the background to be able to realize where the sensitivity is being missed or she had something that you want to add to that. that is balderdash that is completely. unfounded assertion first of all we cannot look at this one woman's gender or her
7:16 pm
race and have any clue as to whether or not she possesses the appropriate cultural or experience will sensitivity that is ridiculous and that's exactly what america fought against in the one nine hundred fifty s. and the one nine hundred sixty s. people were looking just at the physical exterior and drawing conclusions about your fitness or propriety what should be done here is we should examine the specific qualifications of this individual and there have yet to be any any coverage that suggests that there's anything wrong with this person skill or talent or capabilities the only thing anyone has been looking at are race or skin color and that's shameful let's we're going to get to the one thing that one thing that happened in. i just want to just say that there is an example of there was that
7:17 pm
numero i think it was called the medal magazine where they had an editorial and the editorial was called african queen and of all the models that they could find out there that could do this look they found a young white model to put on in a darkened her face in order to fit her into you know this african queen idea and and then of course you know there was an outrage because of all of the models that are out here that are trying to get get this work the few opportunities that would you think would be long or would be where a person of african descent what actually be valued is this still not being actually consider strongly for these positions and so you bring a young white woman into play african. an african queen in a model well let's look at it the point is that there are very few outside of the ninety's as a tazer very very small you have you have people who have people in our community have it's not that i have written for these arenas where there are those where
7:18 pm
there are very few opportunities for those young people to be able to even be a to even have the courage to study in these arenas because they know that they're not even going to be considered for these opportunities i'll tell you are too small for when you to when you have a very good and i started out as your it comes with a certain community that community would not be prioritized in the cultivating of our own arts is our art and we should be the terror takers we should be the people who are who are standing there and providing the access and overseeing that access of our art and we're not in that position we're not in those positions and on these levels nearly as much as we ought to be young and horse do you think that the museum should have that as a reason for that anticipated the public backlash at the very least do you think that the museum should have expected backlash on this horse was going to i didn't i don't think that it should i mean i think that they probably did racial segregation racial segregation circa one thousand nine hundred fifty five said shirton
7:19 pm
positions certain duties certain functions could be assigned on the basis of race if we're doing that in two thousand and eighteen we might as well for get a national holiday for martin luther king we absolutely should not be trying to say . i should be quote prioritised that's what democrats in the nine hundred fifty s. who were segregated they made seventy one point is equalized because of what happened and what happened it is true not to say who did not change what we should be championing did not interrupt you what we should be championing is the talented capable people in the position. now if we accept that a black person surely should not be able to champion all people having access to those opportunities and all people do not and so while there is a reality that there are there is significantly less opportunity of vailable to
7:20 pm
people in certain communities there is a reasonable expectation that certain want certain of these opportunities that are that would default to that community well actually prioritize the people from that community where young it is not a universal access of opportunity that is segregation that is not equal opportunity that is not equal access it of salivating of century should never embrace the idea of the reality of their allowance and this is what they did in the nineteen fifties in the moment it is a balance a balance you sit over here you used back usually you read them your women read every word and write that he said them a racist. yeah you remember that report that said that even a black child outlet a young black man it comes from a wealthy community a wealthy family i'm sorry well i have has more chance of becoming poor in being up poor and then then a young white man who's coming from
7:21 pm
a poor family then the opportunities to research the actual rationed to the to the ability to pursue your passions those things are not afforded equally to people from our community and as long as there is continuing to happen we are not going to be excited or even withholding are discussed around the around people forgetting to give us the opportunities that at least make the most sense to fall towards us are the people in our own people get we only have a corporation and our are you sure as we don't need to die old guys we'll have a probability level reparations we'll have a couple minutes left and i do want to ask about this other story that we brought up a little bit earlier. do you think that i mean we all know in this conversation that blackface in the united states is considered highly racist and highly controversial . how do we make teachers aware of how offensive these
7:22 pm
marks are and these performances are. ok this is a thing everything that i was talking about is the idea that i was sitting on the development of it is. that i actually know what people are going through in these communities and can represent that perspective so that that you don't have just one supremacy perspective that is overseeing this process but you have a diversity of perspectives and that includes the people who you are expecting to be honoring or teaching or developing and horace we have about forty five seconds left the racial the racial separatism idea has never worked in any country on the planet it will not work here in the united states it was dominant for only about thirty or forty years in the united states it is now something that we need to reject in two thousand and eighteen the idea that the only way to stop an idiot from recommending that children put on blackface is to place black people
7:23 pm
in positions of supervisory authority fails to appreciate the significance of the error that occurred here black white brown people understood that that was inappropriate the person that did it is the person that we need to be focusing on not on this idea of so-called racial supremacy. we have a horse cooper who is. talking about including people and i'm separating people i wish that we had all there to talk about no no no nothing to apologize for i wish that we could talk about this all day it's something that is obviously a topic that brings up emotions for everybody horace cooper and indigo thank you very much for being with us here on r.g.p. international. all right in other news switching gears here israel has suspended a controversial migrant deal that could see thousands of african refugees sent to
7:24 pm
western countries the israeli prime minister reached the agreement with the un's refugee agency on monday before taking a u. turn. it's a unique agreement with the states of israel which removes sixteen thousand two hundred fifty people out of the zero two developed countries such as canada germany and italy and what seems to be happening is that israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu is buckling under pressure and criticism in the last few hours we've heard him make three different statements regarding the future status of african migrants inside israel now late on monday in a dramatic about face the israeli prime minister announced that he was canceling and earlier announcement in which he said that a new agreement had been reached between the israeli government and the united nations refugee agency regarding the future of migrants now that agreement was supposed to see some sixteen thousand african migrants resettled in
7:25 pm
a western country of the countries that were listed with canada germany and italy and another eighteen thousand who would receive temporary status here in israel after that announcement the prime minister received a lot of criticism there was a backlash from members within his only could party there were other members of the coalition government and he is reliant on those coalition partners to remain in power a lot of them spoke out against it earlier there was an announcement an agreement put forward by the government that said that migrants in this country would be given two options the one would be to be forcibly deported to either uganda rwanda or to be sent to prison and those there chose to go chose an inverted commas would receive a sweetener are some three and a half thousand dollars as well as a plane ticket but human rights organizations and thousands of israelis over the past few weeks and months have taken to the streets to criticize that announcement what we're hearing now however is in a facebook post by the prime minister he says that he hears the residents of
7:26 pm
particularly south to live in which is where many of these migrants live and he's putting everything on. temporary hold saying that he's suspending the agreement until he holds talks so a bit confusing at this stage a lot of developments in the last few hours but certainly it does seem as if the israeli prime minister is under a lot of pressure to reach some kind of decision but he's got different parties vying for what they want their decision to be frank christian hansell from the alternative for germany party told us that accepting more refugees is not the right way to help struggling african countries probably it's a way for netanyahu to quit to cool down the problem in his in this own country but i think we have to understand we have a global migration crisis not about asylum we see that individual asylum is another thing where whole groups of populations are concerned as this immigration crisis due to two failed states and two failed economic policies and two failed economic
