and if you look behind me there's a follow up in that in the background it is incredibly difficult to breathe we keep being moved on by that gas is actually chlorine to my skin because it hurt so much . real gross. profit for growth to just want to take you to have a look at this down this is one of the rocks that they've been throwing at the police and gendarmerie and there's understand that one of the c.r.s. offices has been injured by one of this project as has been taken to hospital one person who was attempting to throw a moment of coke to the police but it didn't go squat so well. but as you can see behind us the c.r.s. and the police have come into another satisfying this is a point where. a couple of dozen people were trying to hold off if you can see the police pushing the way they steer gas in the air already they've brought dogs in
11:01 am
his well there are absolutely determined that they will move the saddest away from this camp we saw one man with a package saying no violence he was taken away by the police as he was trying to peacefully resist what's happening here what we can see is the police are now trying to push everybody away a tactic that we've seen earlier in the day whether you choice right getting rid of all of the saddest or the activists they can then bring the bulldozers in to get rid of these buildings this is sheer brute force by the state and it is working because they are clearing this site a site that's been occupied for many many years ziad could peel back faster than many people thought it would be because she's also still continuing to kill gas is still being spread well here in the city of north which is about thirty kilometers south of not to the down the line. where those clashes were taking place
11:02 am
today as the police were going in and raise the ring the saudis homes and structures we've also you see those clashes from today come back out onto the streets tonight there's been plenty of to gas and people are saying they are incredibly angry. relations between the u.k. and russia my base an all time low but that didn't stop british football fans from traveling to moscow for you a feel you were a policeman much on thursday ahead of the c.s.k. moscow arsenal game british media round threatening articles about what lay ahead for supporters r.t. these the early met up with one arsenal superfan to see if the headlines were true . just on my way to consider you a very prominent hostile fan going to be offering him when he travels to moscow does he have any fear is regarding the political tension between the u.k.
11:03 am
and russia is he worried about things like hooliganism. follow him throughout history how do you feel in there in this context you know. in the noda there's been a lot going on between the governments waffling that's between the governments and i'm a person this is football we're going for football you know if you listen to people around you in the u.k. a lot some people are coming up to me and say robbie don't go there you'd be mad in an oil some of you've been to russia and i say well no i haven't come out i can i get advice so for someone who has been there have also been concerns with regard to find safety so for example hooliganism and also racism you know you've seen things about russia and things of happened in russia that's not going to be a problem but up in qana encouraged because of a lot received e-mails from groups over there in russia saying to me that lisa ruby snot nearly as bad as what it's made out to be.
11:04 am
on the plane about to head out to russia. and we're looking forward to it. it's a place i never before. to a thousand also supporters come over to watch the game many of them have been advised by the foreign and commonwealth office as well saying they could be here not take anti british sentiment amongst some russians due to the heightened tension between the two countries at the moment well i mean i'm not convinced already. we're been worried about coming here since then but actually it's sort of like there's no tension that's reason also. sponsors that the politicians get on with it

just said that there was a lot of to these people a survivor was disappearing before their eyes. i remember thinking when i was younger that if anything ever happened to the coal mines here and that it would become a ghost town but i never thought in the million years i would see that and it's how it's happened. i played for many clubs over the years so i know the game inside guides. football isn't only about what happens on the pitch for the final school it's about the passion from the fans it's the age of the superman to just kill you narrowness and spending two to twenty million one fly a. book it's an experience like nothing else going to because i want to share what i think of what i know about the beautiful guy a great so one more chance for. peace and it's going to.

welcome to worlds apart delage chemical attack on a damascus suburb has once again the put the world on the brink of a major confrontation and not just one as russia and the united states have been ripped is issuing that big guns israel is the moment to strike what it's called the reining in assets in syria for so little respect for the country's sovereignty can't israel column on its own interest being accommodated they have to discuss
11:09 am
that i'm now joined by proven don shalom an israeli air force veteran and columnist for the jerusalem post colonel it's great pleasure talking to you thank you very much for joining us on such a beautiful day thank you for having me now before we go into discussing israel's rationale for attacking its neighbor militarily let me ask you about your own assessment of the situation in general you know the russian television package this wake about what kind of foods you are supposed to stock up on in the event of a nuclear strike i wonder you've actually come to a point globally when dot kind of knowledge may prove practical i don't think so i think this may be a bit overdoing it this far as where the region can go but certainly the possibility of a miscalculation and deterioration into a regional war that is possible remember that we're talking about a global power is a play israel is not a global power but we do have our interests are very vital interests which we are
11:10 am
trying to protect now there was a moment when dan merrick an attack on syria seemed not just an avid to blow but also imminent. possibly expansive and evolving not just syrian targets but since then both washington and i think if the european allies have stabbed back a little bit. do you take it as a tactical move or do you think there has been some reassessment about what has actually happened and do more perhaps they were assessment of what can happen as a result of the american strikes i think there's a problem in the way we perceive this something happens in this case it was the chemical attack on civilians and the syria and then the public in the media are waiting for the response of course playing into this is also this this very unique american president which tells us via twitter what he plans to do and so everyone's waiting for this attack remember that the last attack by the united states was also not a game changer but more a signal and also here again is
11:11 am
a four waiting we're sitting back and waiting for the american response it's not going to be toppling the syrian regime so it's going to be something calculated in the middle we don't know what we don't know when but of course this is the american calculation i wouldn't make a mistake of tying israel into this and also remember that the last attack by israel on two four had nothing to do with a chemical attack israel is not a global player player as far as being the regional a policeman and we are not carrying out messages by global powers we are looking out for our own interests i personally believe that the timing here was coincidental well colonel as you said we have a very very unusual president in the white house and i personally think that flipping a coin is more reliable than predicting mr trump's actions but i still wonder after everything that was written and sad and then taken back and then written and sad again gee seeing districts will still follow yes i think it will happen it's clear to me that the american administration will have to fulfill this kind of promise
11:12 am
given to their people into the world i think president trump has decided strategic and military considerations all. the a very important consideration of his word of standing by his word remember that he criticized president obama for drawing a line in the sand or declaring a red line and then not enforcing it he even made made fun of him for this so i think it's very clear now that if president trump said that there is going to be response then it will be i just think that our expectations in a way that this american response will be so severe that it will be a game changer i think this is not the case it will again be messages and very careful calculation by the americans not to deteriorate into a clash a direct confrontation with russia but even if it's a targeted strike it's not actually you know a tiny little trifle it's actually a military attack on a sovereign nation don't you think that the u.s.
11:13 am
should maybe we are overplaying the danger but don't you think that you are underestimating the significance of all of this because this is not what they are supposed to do to strike a your neighbor or another nation across the world militarily i know that these are all dotted on regular bases but this is actually against international law ok again that's not separate remember that russia is now inside a different country on the invitation of the legitimate u.n. recognized syrian government understood i'm not even going to argue that issue i'm just saying that certainly countries look out for their interests and like i said completely separated from the israeli case that we can discuss later that has nothing to do with this issue i think the americans for instance if they decide to take out installations that specifically have to do with chemical weapons i think all mankind would agree that that is a positive thing to do because using chemical weapons to all mankind is considered a serious violation of international law of our basic morals so again i'm that's what i'm giving recommendations to the united states i'm just saying i can
11:14 am
certainly understand why the united states with their global responsibilities and their interest in the middle east will want to signal to the a thud regime that these red lines are serious now can i take it from your comments that you fully. subscribe to the version of assad's culpability in this so horrendous attack and i wonder if you're basing your conclusions on the promise of his irrationality team being evil but still pursuing pragmatic goals or perhaps on the contrary human being totally and suicidally mad very good question trying to figure out leaders in the region is extremely complicated i'm going to say that i gave up completely but it's extremely complicated as far as president looking out for his own interest maintaining his regime i think this goal has in a way enabled him to use many means that many of us would consider not appropriate and crossing in violating very moral codes. using chemical weapons let's just make
11:15 am
it very clear as an israeli i would strongly argue not to make a judgment by video clips you see in the media the media is manipulated by various factors in the region that has interests this is done a lot to us i would not do that to others but in this case i think the world health organization's and other international institutions that time and time again go in verify and say that actually samples taken taken in the field demonstrate that chemical weapons have been used i think it's safe to say they will we see now in syria is extremely troubling to say the least i think you're slightly misrepresenting what their world health organization has actually sat it expressed concern about the use of chemical weapons and i think we would all agree that using chemical weapons is absolutely inadmissible i think even the syrian government would state i'm pretty firmly butt.
