a your coverage of the first gulf war for which you were actually fired from and b. c. . it was clearly and correct me if i'm wrong you were specifically fired because you sell and it's a billion deaths all inflicted by the americans that was clearly an act of censorship but i think from my experience at least censorship in different come countries. realize in different patterns have you figured out how it works in the united states. you know it's affected me in different ways i've had the misfortune of being blacklisted twice i was blacklisted for public television not for war coverage but for a documentary about health care because the documentary pointed the finger at the sort of greedy financial interests that were keeping americans from getting the best health care. that was it for public television. but the sort of

interesting thing about the united states is that sometimes the door opens and door closes and the door open to n.b.c. and i was the only independent reporter to work for any of the coral networks i had total editorial control of my reports which is i have more editorial control than anybody here at r.t. has i think there were a number of circumstances general electric which is. a big powerful country company a company that has a lot of military industrial interests bought and b.c. and from that moment. the gangplank was out for me but i think that i may i may be mistaken but judging from your previous interviews i think it was more specific you went to iraq you filmed the shooters that were you were not supposed to sell me you managed to smuggle it into a back into the united states in your socks you brought it to the n.b.c. executives and what did they tell you. that every time i go to the third world i

make trouble for them and they're tired of it but if you actually look at the sluggish what was the problem with your behavior over the actual material that they have here and in fact. the regular news staff was devastated by this and they had all supported me they had seen the footage and were proud that somebody from their team had gotten this despite saddam's attempts to censor me you know we had three babysitters there were three pages of rules and regulations we broke every single rule they tried to kill me on the way out of the country put a gun to my head and spent five minutes trying to pull the trigger to kill me and i got the stuff back and everybody was proud of me and what was there what was on the there was on the film i mean basically the smart bombs were not smart this was what we were being told in the united states during the war that this was the first bloodless war in history the first scientific war in history. and let me tell you

when any country believes that they can make war and not hurt people they become even more dangerous and so it was crucial to show these reports to the american did you actually show it to the american people when they should have seen it during the war one of the tragedies of the war and it's it's studied in journalism classes there were a number of hand wringing retrospectives about the way in which the press had not fulfilled its duty to the country during the war and they didn't well you know what's interesting to me is that americans like to use the examples of the first and second iraqi contains as something that they regret but i think. any of those things have been repeated recently for example the united states military has just taken over the city of. isis used to claim as its capital it was taken by a very very have the aerial bombardment. practically no building is left standing in that city there independent reports of thousands of corpses rotting

under the rubble and there is still very very little if any coverage on the american networks doesn't that suggest that the system that you encountered baghdad is still in operation these days i can't talk about that because i haven't been to syria i can't talk about those reports because. i don't watch the news. when i spend my whole day doing what i'm doing i'm i don't know about you i want to watch a hockey game on t.v. i don't think i've watched. cast in twenty years. but i didn't even watch my own reports because as soon as i finish with my own reports i was on an airplane going to the next war so i can't comment about that i thought that the way in which the press was treated during the second gulf war because i was embedded for two months in baghdad was respectful was honest and was transparent and it was the three hundred sixty degree difference from the first gulf war first gulf war. the press

was treated like a bunch of dogs in the alley you've been to numerous war zones but you decided against going to syria or for that matter to libya why is that why didn't you want to go there. make a calculus. before i decide to go someplace i would like. i'm happy to take a risk happy to risk can say i'm happy but i will risk my life if i think that the report that i make is going to change something. and that's a sort of sophisticated combinations of things want to have to be able to get to where i want to go i have to be able to operate with some degree of freedom people's minds have to be flexible enough so that if i come back and i say listen this is what i think the truth really is that the listen to me and i need an outlet and i don't have any of those conditions. when i stop working for n.b.c. i began to do documentaries and sort of let's get on the plane the bells ringing

over in syria i'm going to be the first person in the front the first person back in those days i could beat anyone in the world sure you're good but i could beat you but documentaries is different and documentaries is a long slow or thoughtful process and and there are only so many places that you can show them and we basically make one documentary every two years every three years in the case of cuba to be forty five years the conditions and i felt bad you know because in order to take this risk you have to believe that there's something about the way in which you see the world that is important for other people to know otherwise it's insanity to go to these places and you have to have that burning. burn burn inside you so the first couple of times wars happened without me. like you had to tie me to the mast because but i didn't have any place to show it you know you weren't there but they were. a lot of coverage of both the syrian and

libyan conflict and it was. very much split along the ideological lines because i could see the reports of my western calling for example from libya voice with their own this aims are in the same building working you know from the same desk but they would show something totally totally different i mean the reality that i wouldn't even recognize and i'm sure they would say the same things about my reports we are now in the age of propaganda war a supposed truth post-fact do you think you could even adapt to this kind of working environment i did pretty pretty good in egypt so i was in the square in egypt for the revolution. i think. it's pretty good film it played on h.b.o. we didn't win the oscar but we got on the shortlist for the oscar awards and so made a film from i don't know if you appreciate. like my type of way of doing things it

was a quintessential film the way in which we do it very well received so. the opportunity still do exist and you know it's also our responsibilities as reporters to. try and be as honest as possible to not have an agenda. when there's lots of forces pulling us this way and points i want to see it's not about having an agenda i think from what i see at least i think many western reporters they come to cuba or they come to syria with the preconceived notion of what that country is and they do their reports from the balconies of the hotel we call a balcony buzzards a little whatever i mean. things to do more things to do this they did this and. the first report i ever did for n.b.c. . was the first time i'd ever been in

a war zone and i was up in lang's on vietnam and the chinese were on the hills shooting at anything that moved and i like a moron i'm walking down the street there with my vietnamese buddies in the church church so you know what i did. everybody else runs for cover i grab the microphone and i do with stand up because that's all it ever. existed and so i said i'm telling them what was obvious i'm here i'm lying son that people are shooting at me and my name is jon alpert and i'm working for n.b.c. news i looked at that and i said you know what that's the last stand up on there but i never i never did another one i was so ashamed of myself because all i was doing was copycatting you know they all wear the same clothes they wear the trench coats in the winter they wear the safari suits and they walk around with briefcases and going to and what the heck is in their briefcases you know what it is speak up and they spend the whole day waiting for the sun to get into the right position they've got somebody standing there with a tray to reflect and they're there on the balcony well i think so shame on them

and here awards to people who go do something different and it's and it's not just the american reporters seen the russian reporters i've seen people like this all over the world and there are reporters from every single country who will get dirty and will try to understand what the people are doing well. definitely on that i just. a minute left and i want to ask you perhaps a philosophical question but still i think much of the global tensions still centered around those concepts of freedom democracy tyranny development human flourishing and what always strikes me is how differently they are interpreted in different countries what freedom means to an american is very different from what freedom means to a cuban or to a syrian or even to russians for that matter do you think difference is a genuine do you think we will average be able to drive. you know some common understanding of what freedom really. i think it's always good to have

differences. but we can't let those differences separate us and what we need to do is. even even though we might look at the wall. differently we need to. walk through the world holding hands and talk to each other about our differences like we're doing here today will be a big you know mindful of being branded as a crime and sympathizer because i think in this day and age even appearing on this network may get you in trouble anybody who knows me knows that i've always been my own person and people have respected me for them that's why they invite me to come back time and time again and that's why this project about the first and last hockey game at the north pole which is been forced by the united nations that's the other well i certainly would together and i'll teach you how to skate you want how to stay well but i'll teach you a well i will definitely try my best but in any case i hold that we can discuss

basement and then heard someone outside scream go to hospital we were scared they started to pour water on me i don't know why they did this. do you remember where it happened. right here. and there is it. here it is. and then they poured water on me they put me here and then took me upstairs to my mother. and that's me in the video that's me. yes.

it was a long press conference it was a very detailed press conference they they also brought up to the stage a number of doctors who'd been on duty in the hospital at the time they went into at times excruciating detail about what they saw and what they didn't see on that day on the seventh of april in fact some doctors saying that although they treated people for us fix the ation for problems with breathing they didn't treat people with the symptoms that you would associate with a chemical poisoning. on the seventh of april i was in the emergency room treating patients injured during the fighting the same day around seven pm we started receiving patients with breathing problems about fifteen cases this happened because people were inhaling smoke and dust they only showed symptoms of choking and nothing more it all happened because one missile hit a building nearby and a lot of dust got into the hospital rooms people had injuries they had trouble

breathing but we had patients like that arriving all the time and the screams chemical weapons chemical weapons were used to create panic this lasted for about an hour we were treating the patients and sending them home and we had no. instances of people suffering from poisonous substances. well that's what we heard from those doctors that were on the scene we also heard from. who is a member of the the russian military attash a who was who is looking at this need described the canister that is patrolled in the in the videos that are supposed to say show this chemical attack he said that's just not the way that. chemical ordinance looks after it's been to live it so certainly far more questions are being raised following this press conference than have been answered. yes. thanks for your a take on what you saw there so when it went on for a fair

once again once they arrive had they been coerced they could have easily asked for asylum in the netherlands you know we would have been looking at a completely different case but i was looking at these you know as i was looking into the following some of the arguments they presented and some of the evidence they shewed and so on i was thinking you know how come we didn't hear any similar witnesses in country who last year probably had the area of who not been occupied by journals of mistral would have seen very similar you know people alleged victims or doctors who allegedly. treated some chemicals some people from chemical poisoning saying no no no that was completely not the case and so on and so forth and so the key here actually what happened is that out of luck really this particular area where the really alleged chemical attack took place was not the next day you know delivered to the hands of the whole freed from the terrorists and

delivered to the hands of the syrian government that's why we have these people preserved to tell us exactly what happened because you're good to go on now because said no the timing of this is well the o.p.c. w. didn't want russia to do what it did today to put these witnesses forward it said no you can do this when we've carried our investigations there's no reason to believe that the. c.w. is a good organization why would it want all the evidence before it came out with its conclusions are you what it was doing what russia had to put forward what was its problem with these people say what they said today don't get it. well we think that the first starter ring happened in damascus because we understand that the o.p.c. w. team in damascus refused to meet those people and then the idea came out of what did with just take into the hague and show them but still you know the likes of the united kingdom for example said we're not going to attend any theater here and so on they refused to see this as evidence obviously pending what the o.p.c. w.t.

is going to come up with from duma yet it's highly unlikely that they would say personally even if. they will were actually there at the scene as they purport to be medics and indeed victims but we've seen the kid in the video haven't we so you know that he's definitely been there and his father was that his father could have taken his kid out with the militants because the militants came out afterwards with their families but no he remained in his place and he said this is what happened which reminds us for example with the very famous case of armando nish the guy at the back of the car in the back of the ambulance stunned by something picture on pages and then he and his father remained in eastern aleppo when he was liberated by the syrian army they refused to go back there if you go out with the militants they refused money and so on and so forth there is a lot more to it than what is said lionel for international really quit on innocent

till proven guilty hopefully going to raise some questions by the testimony we heard today would you think it's theater or not some people there i guess will be maybe changing their minds here tonight does it back a question over how quickly the u.k. france and the u.s. went in there without any of this being said come again the questions are here to give the u.s. france were quick to go in there bombing over doomer before any of these witnesses came forward if people were on the fence tonight would it maybe change their minds about what they heard today. here will these three actors were quick to do what they did to bomb the place because they knew they didn't have a solid case they wanted to bomb without with disregard to whatever was happening over there so it shows actually that they knew that there was no chemical attack but they were willing to do whatever it takes you assert their authority or so they think and say we are still on the table and a work of middle east expert thanks for your view from london there thank you very much chuck has more news tonight next it's been revealed that

no financial restrictions you can share with one hundred two hundred dollars a lot of gamblers came within a space of schrader's because a lot of gambling sites and poker sites were paying out in crypto in big. coin mostly and these guys say i want to do something else i don't have to play poker all the time i'm going to start trading and what i've noticed is that we're wasn't many professional traders and competent traders in the space so i started writing articles about technical analysis and the grew into a huge shadow about technical analysis and trying to predict the price of big i've had lots of really good calls i've had a few bad calls too i mean just the life of being a trader and now i've just been traveling the country doing little workshops of ten to twenty people that want to spend the whole day learning the basics of technical analysis for trading i can only help any trader well the great value in this is twofold one is traders obviously looking for gains

but probably more important with technical analysis it's address is risk management risk management is the key to trading success it's something that technical analysis helps because it gives you the ability to pick price points where you might want to put on some a strategy to get you out of a market that's not going in your favor this type of thing would you agree with that absolutely i think doubt a trader should trade as least a spa simple if you want to pick the perfect points where the statistics and probabilities are in your favor and the best advantage to technical analysis it can tell you where you are wrong based on technical analysis and you're entering a trade for a position you should already have a metric saying ok if it goes against me this amount i need to get out of this trade and wait for another opportunity sell saying technical analysis if you have a certain threshold that you are designating as your risk tolerance that applies to

futures where the futures themselves are price discovery for gold futures on big coin are more like the s. and p. five hundred futures they don't really have an effect on the underlying stocks of the s. and p. five hundred so i see it as the same way and it wasn't dot big of a deal after they launched and it's great because now because it is definitely more legit to all of the average person that is thinking should i get in should i not get in while clearly the c.m.e. in the financial world considers it legit because of the futures so i think it has a long it's a great go and forward but as far as immediate effect on the price of a quinn i don't think it has hold out much i'm talking about a loss in again a futures contract does give an institutional player ability to manage risk because they can heads a position which means they can take bigger positions and this is unique now to big point because there are no futures contracts on any other all going at the moment so my question is about all the clients i think some people view you as being a big big point maximalist. tend to shun the old coin market in sydney

talk a little bit about. that that that that that idea i am odd bit of a bit colin maximalist but that's not because. i hate all of the old coins and i think that coin is going to be cave because i have money. i only do that because it is going to be the winner and that's where the money isn't quite as far as the old coins go there was a round of old coins that came in in the early days of twenty fourteen coins like light coins coins like one hour like your own coin max coin these like. banks going when these old coins showed up i didn't have a problem with these coins because they wore honestly created with the genesis block and like everybody knew about it they were launched well it's case of light coin it was all fair game for anyone to get and then the next round of old coins came in as a sole source for the files or to get rich and i immediately classify all of those

created ones over time the way like amazon continues to separate from any other online retailer right so i would put i.c.l. is into that category of securities offerings i see. think we would agree on that and i'm going to move on to my last question which is that the twenty eighteen twenty nineteen time horizon what about the emerging second layer a bit coy like lightning network so your thoughts i think that the lightning network and all the progress that's happening there is moving in faster than i expected i think they are going to focus on making it very user friendly to the point where it's still complicated to set up your own because a node but it should be as easy as da loading an up to house your own lightning no and using these lightning channels they should bring micro transactions the thing that people were expecting on the protocol itself but a lot of smart engineers basically looked at inside that's not really feasible on how the system scale so i really am looking forward to all those lightning channels

big has meant that the biggest importing region of the united states has in fact developed a gas surpluses it internally so on a net basis on a balance basis we are a gas exporter in addition to that increasingly we are using low priced natural gas to produce products at home things like basic chemicals that are produced from hydrocarbons natural gas and in addition to exporting raw gas and compressed natural gas we are beginning to export commodity commodity products that are made from our own domestic natural gas. rick can you give us just a brief summary of what's going on in markets today. sure with the cabbie out that there isn't one broad market the natural gas market is a global market made up of many small markets but in a broad sense there are

a couple things that are important the first is probably that the shale revolution on a global basis but mostly in the u.s. has meant that prior concerns about a scarcity of natural gas have disappeared so people are less afraid to use natural gas in industrial and power generating processes that's the most important thing that's happened second thing in dogwood keep. an i'm sorry keep going i'm sorry second thing yeah the second most important thing at least from my point of view has been that the increase in alternative energy technologies primarily wind and solar while it's attractive is intermittent and the ability to use natural gas to generate electricity during periods of time when the sun doesn't shine as an example or the wind doesn't blow is the only thing that makes those alternative energy technologies really appropriate to a broad based grid and the advent of. alternative

those large area counties u.s.t.a. used to work work there and it's counties with populations below ten thousand and so it's those sort of collar counties right what are some of the hot spots are around the country. well you know there are so many especially and texas you know we have the equivalent of a seven forty seven landing in d.f.w. airport and everybody in that plane is moving to dallas every single day so that's a lot of people dallas city proper doesn't have room for that so it's the area's it's the sheilas bedford it's the las colinas area that used to be rural america that's now just like the city there is no difference there just a sign separating it it's all highways it's all new housing areas great vine area north of dallas is just the metroplex has blown up and so is houston so is austin a lot of people want to come to texas it's our environment down here you know so much expansion around the world in the u.s.

it's exciting to see all of the businesses and shopping growing and everything it's a pretty amazing how about markets housing markets in general debby we see interest rates going up the fed just increased rates we expect maybe two or three other rate increases this year are our home buyers saying they've got to buy now are they still waiting around. the only ones that are really raging around are the ones that are trying to get their qualifying in order they've got to lowered their debt pay off some credit cards you know people still carry a lot of debt on credit cards or student loans are killing a lot of our first time homebuyers so you know they're the ones that are waiting everybody wants to move now the problem is there's a shortage of homes that are in that early first time home buyer area and that doesn't give them a lot of choices that pushes them out of the suburbs but people want to buy now the best deals though are not now the best deals are going to be in the fall in the winter of next year what doesn't sell over the summer but then your interest rates

are going to be more so my suggestion is buy now find a home now get settled move in and get on with your life the rates are only going to go higher and as far as prices you talked about the fall being maybe a better time is that the case all across the country because of school or is it less so perhaps in areas where you are in the sun belt states. now i think it's everywhere so if you have school or age children you know school starts the beginning of september end of august all across the country and those people need to be settled so people that are taking job transfers they're going to be moving in the summer and they've got to get the kids ready to go to school you don't want to start the school year after it starts if you can help from it just easier on the family and the kids so i'll a lot of that movement but whatever doesn't sell in the summertime months are going to be sitting there on the market then september through next march when the market starts again so that's when you can get a lot of people people have to leave with their jobs and move to a new city some people are taking to house payments on it that part of the their
