and cuba because of my love for the cuban people i wanted to observe this first hand but i didn't want to observe it from the back of the pack and so i had. asked the cuban government to allow me to come inside as they were making their deliberations as they were passing the power in to observe this basically like a fly. on the shoulder and. they didn't answer me i had the choice to be in cuba or be here in moscow for some very important thing this past week and i chose to come here to moscow instead of going to cuba well we are very happy it's you're welcome here in this country but for the time being we have to take a very short break we'll be back in just a few moments. i've

been saying the numbers mean something they matter to us as a rich one trillion dollars in debt more than ten white collar crimes happen each day. eighty five percent of global wealth you longs to be culled from rich each point six percent market saw thirty percent i just want to secure some with the under the five hundred three per cent get first shot and bitcoin rose to twenty thousand dollars. china is building two point one billion dollars a i industrial park but don't let the numbers overwhelms. the only number you need to remember is one one just shows you can't afford to miss the one and only film buffs. lol. you never know what's around the

corner never know what's in the pub even to walk into a nice that excitement is that more now and that's why the adrenaline in much comes from. i'm going to use a move by definition an extreme so will probably support. the violence is a pov and it's almost a schizophrenia gang culture where you can do all these things and behave badly. they're going to befall a whole disqualified all. of us both more so focused on the last. punishment and infirm then one wall will get done far less than the spots. i would roll or where enough i figure out i really did a poll down down went up a little bit. of meaning in these images that beast if you don't let me involves this constant involvement.

that your house something under the table to show as i do have something i have my my my props here and you see this yeah and i can see the name of legendary russian hockey player who just lost fifty safad why do you have it if you look at this and obviously we have your name here as well but so so so when i was growing up. i didn't want to be a journalist i can tell you how i became a journalist but it was completely accidental my dream was to be a hockey player. but my reality was that i still don't get i wasn't good enough. i was always very enthusiastic but in one town that hockey player but my friend i'm working with on a number of projects one is the first and last hockey game ever on the north pole can you skate really and you've got a year because next year around this time is basically to call attention to the environmental crisis of the north pole and also this sort of political tensions the

arctic countries the vatican. there's one more can remember what it is they're all getting together. i usually do political journalism and i think. right off the bat i can say that this is unfair and usually experience to have russians and americans doing anything constructive because from my experience the only bickering but it's good that you guys can do something in the in the current environment and i think so and you've been to war and. i feel. because of our shared experience and because i'm looking in your eyes i can tell that. when when you go to war as a reporter there is something that happens inside you and it changes you as a person and it compels you more or less for the rest of your life to look for other ways to resolve issues you visited a number of floors zones but did the one that you remember the most would be
8:06 pm
a your coverage of the first gulf war for which you were actually fired from and b. c. . it was clearly and correct me if i'm wrong you were specifically fired because you sell and it's a billion deaths all inflicted by the americans that was clearly an act of censorship but i think from my experience at least censorship in different come countries. realize in different patterns have you figured out how it works in the united states. you know it's affected me in different ways i've had the misfortune of being blacklisted twice i was blacklisted for public television not for war coverage but for a documentary about health care because the documentary pointed the finger at the sort of greedy financial interests that were keeping americans from getting the best health care. that was it for public television. but the sort of
8:07 pm
interesting thing about the united states is that sometimes the door opens and door closes and the door open to n.b.c. and i was the only independent reporter to work for any of the coral networks i had total editorial control of my reports which is i have more editorial control than anybody here at r.t. has i think there were a number of circumstances general electric which is. a big powerful country company a company that has a lot of military industrial interests bought and b.c. and from that moment. the gangplank was out for me but i think that i may i may be mistaken but judging from your previous interviews i think it was more specific you went to iraq you filmed the shooters that were you were not supposed to sell me you managed to smuggle it into a back into the united states in your socks you brought it to the n.b.c. executives and what did they tell you. that every time i go to the third world i
8:08 pm
make trouble for them and they're tired of it but if you actually look at the sluggish what was the problem with your behavior over the actual material that they have here and in fact. the regular news staff was devastated by this and they had all supported me they had seen the footage and were proud that somebody from their team had gotten this despite saddam's attempts to censor me you know we had three babysitters there were three pages of rules and regulations we broke every single rule they tried to kill me on the way out of the country put a gun to my head and spent five minutes trying to pull the trigger to kill me and i got the stuff back and everybody was proud of me and what was there what was on the there was on the film i mean basically the smart bombs were not smart this was what we were being told in the united states during the war that this was the first bloodless war in history the first scientific war in history. and let me tell you
8:09 pm
when any country believes that they can make war and not hurt people they become even more dangerous and so it was crucial to show these reports to the american did you actually show it to the american people when they should have seen it during the war one of the tragedies of the war and it's it's studied in journalism classes there were a number of hand wringing retrospectives about the way in which the press had not fulfilled its duty to the country during the war and they didn't well you know what's interesting to me is that americans like to use the examples of the first and second iraqi contains as something that they regret but i think. any of those things have been repeated recently for example the united states military has just taken over the city of. isis used to claim as its capital it was taken by a very very have the aerial bombardment. practically no building is left standing in that city there independent reports of thousands of corpses rotting
8:10 pm
under the rubble and there is still very very little if any coverage on the american networks doesn't that suggest that the system that you encountered baghdad is still in operation these days i can't talk about that because i haven't been to syria i can't talk about those reports because. i don't watch the news. when i spend my whole day doing what i'm doing i'm i don't know about you i want to watch a hockey game on t.v. i don't think i've watched. cast in twenty years. but i didn't even watch my own reports because as soon as i finish with my own reports i was on an airplane going to the next war so i can't comment about that i thought that the way in which the press was treated during the second gulf war because i was embedded for two months in baghdad was respectful was honest and was transparent and it was the three hundred sixty degree difference from the first gulf war first gulf war. the press
8:11 pm
was treated like a bunch of dogs in the alley you've been to numerous war zones but you decided against going to syria or for that matter to libya why is that why didn't you want to go there. make a calculus. before i decide to go someplace i would like. i'm happy to take a risk happy to risk can say i'm happy but i will risk my life if i think that the report that i make is going to change something. and that's a sort of sophisticated combinations of things want to have to be able to get to where i want to go i have to be able to operate with some degree of freedom people's minds have to be flexible enough so that if i come back and i say listen this is what i think the truth really is that the listen to me and i need an outlet and i don't have any of those conditions. when i stop working for n.b.c. i began to do documentaries and sort of let's get on the plane the bells ringing
8:12 pm
over in syria i'm going to be the first person in the front the first person back in those days i could beat anyone in the world sure you're good but i could beat you but documentaries is different and documentaries is a long slow or thoughtful process and and there are only so many places that you can show them and we basically make one documentary every two years every three years in the case of cuba to be forty five years the conditions and i felt bad you know because in order to take this risk you have to believe that there's something about the way in which you see the world that is important for other people to know otherwise it's insanity to go to these places and you have to have that burning. burn burn inside you so the first couple of times wars happened without me. like you had to tie me to the mast because but i didn't have any place to show it you know you weren't there but they were. a lot of coverage of both the syrian and
8:13 pm
libyan conflict and it was. very much split along the ideological lines because i could see the reports of my western calling for example from libya voice with their own this aims are in the same building working you know from the same desk but they would show something totally totally different i mean the reality that i wouldn't even recognize and i'm sure they would say the same things about my reports we are now in the age of propaganda war a supposed truth post-fact do you think you could even adapt to this kind of working environment i did pretty pretty good in egypt so i was in the square in egypt for the revolution. i think. it's pretty good film it played on h.b.o. we didn't win the oscar but we got on the shortlist for the oscar awards and so made a film from i don't know if you appreciate. like my type of way of doing things it
8:14 pm
was a quintessential film the way in which we do it very well received so. the opportunity still do exist and you know it's also our responsibilities as reporters to. try and be as honest as possible to not have an agenda. when there's lots of forces pulling us this way and points i want to see it's not about having an agenda i think from what i see at least i think many western reporters they come to cuba or they come to syria with the preconceived notion of what that country is and they do their reports from the balconies of the hotel we call a balcony buzzards a little whatever i mean. things to do more things to do this they did this and. the first report i ever did for n.b.c. . was the first time i'd ever been in
8:15 pm
a war zone and i was up in lang's on vietnam and the chinese were on the hills shooting at anything that moved and i like a moron i'm walking down the street there with my vietnamese buddies in the church church so you know what i did. everybody else runs for cover i grab the microphone and i do with stand up because that's all it ever. existed and so i said i'm telling them what was obvious i'm here i'm lying son that people are shooting at me and my name is jon alpert and i'm working for n.b.c. news i looked at that and i said you know what that's the last stand up on there but i never i never did another one i was so ashamed of myself because all i was doing was copycatting you know they all wear the same clothes they wear the trench coats in the winter they wear the safari suits and they walk around with briefcases and going to and what the heck is in their briefcases you know what it is speak up and they spend the whole day waiting for the sun to get into the right position they've got somebody standing there with a tray to reflect and they're there on the balcony well i think so shame on them
8:16 pm
and here awards to people who go do something different and it's and it's not just the american reporters seen the russian reporters i've seen people like this all over the world and there are reporters from every single country who will get dirty and will try to understand what the people are doing well. definitely on that i just. a minute left and i want to ask you perhaps a philosophical question but still i think much of the global tensions still centered around those concepts of freedom democracy tyranny development human flourishing and what always strikes me is how differently they are interpreted in different countries what freedom means to an american is very different from what freedom means to a cuban or to a syrian or even to russians for that matter do you think difference is a genuine do you think we will average be able to drive. you know some common understanding of what freedom really. i think it's always good to have
8:17 pm
differences. but we can't let those differences separate us and what we need to do is. even even though we might look at the wall. differently we need to. walk through the world holding hands and talk to each other about our differences like we're doing here today will be a big you know mindful of being branded as a crime and sympathizer because i think in this day and age even appearing on this network may get you in trouble anybody who knows me knows that i've always been my own person and people have respected me for them that's why they invite me to come back time and time again and that's why this project about the first and last hockey game at the north pole which is been forced by the united nations that's the other well i certainly would together and i'll teach you how to skate you want how to stay well but i'll teach you a well i will definitely try my best but in any case i hold that we can discuss

beyond the team's latest edition to make it up as we go so i need to look at. the development from the hague on the alleged chemical attack in syria's duma with russia inviting local witnesses to testify that the incident was staged. can never have zero hour in the basement and then heard someone outside screaming go to the hospital we were scared they started to pour water on me i don't know why they did this live on the phone as professionals. we saw that there were no symptoms suggesting chemical weapons had been used. precious mounting on the qatari regime for its regional rivals now the claims of dubai based company commissioned a film linking the beleaguered gulf state to terrorism in order to justify sanctions. and not even a dollar facebook's technology chief stresses to british employees that moscow's

spending on securing the brakes it totalled all of ninety seven cents. hi good evening this is r.t.d. to ten with me kevin owen live from moscow first and no symptoms of chemical poisoning that's how local doctors are describing the aftermath of the attack in the syrian city of duma on april the seventh witnesses explained how it all unfolded to the un about chemical watchdog alongside russia's representative to the group went on for about an hour or so our europe correspondent peter oliver joins us now there's a lot of information a lot of people put forward peter take us through the main points that came out there's one clear message that seemed to come from everyone wasn't. well russia's main representative russia's permanent representative to the organization for the
8:22 pm
prevention of chemical weapons alexander surely again he was unequivocal in what he had to say he described the incident that took place in duma on the seventh of april as a solo police staged chemical attack saying that the blame lay with the likes of the united states france and the united kingdom for actually carrying out the staging of that now he was also backed up in the statements by the syrian representatives that we o.p.c. w and was then later followed by a series of different witnesses who were on the scene in due. time no one of those and perhaps the most profound of those was eleven year old son he was one of those people that was prominently featured in in videos of the alleged chemical attack he described a very different scene. in that. we were in the
8:23 pm
basement and then heard someone outside scream go to hospital we were scared they started to pour water on me i don't know why they did this. do you remember where it happened. right here. and there is it. here it is. and then they poured water on me they put me here and then took me upstairs to my mother. and that's me in the video that's me. yes.
8:24 pm
it was a long press conference it was a very detailed press conference they they also brought up to the stage a number of doctors who'd been on duty in the hospital at the time they went into at times excruciating detail about what they saw and what they didn't see on that day on the seventh of april in fact some doctors saying that although they treated people for us fix the ation for problems with breathing they didn't treat people with the symptoms that you would associate with a chemical poisoning. on the seventh of april i was in the emergency room treating patients injured during the fighting the same day around seven pm we started receiving patients with breathing problems about fifteen cases this happened because people were inhaling smoke and dust they only showed symptoms of choking and nothing more it all happened because one missile hit a building nearby and a lot of dust got into the hospital rooms people had injuries they had trouble
8:25 pm
breathing but we had patients like that arriving all the time and the screams chemical weapons chemical weapons were used to create panic this lasted for about an hour we were treating the patients and sending them home and we had no. instances of people suffering from poisonous substances. well that's what we heard from those doctors that were on the scene we also heard from. who is a member of the the russian military attash a who was who is looking at this need described the canister that is patrolled in the in the videos that are supposed to say show this chemical attack he said that's just not the way that. chemical ordinance looks after it's been to live it so certainly far more questions are being raised following this press conference than have been answered. yes. thanks for your a take on what you saw there so when it went on for a fair
8:26 pm
a while didn't get enough of you know i'm a work of middle east expert. looking on from london peter gave us the facts of course a lot of people are going to looking on and seeing what was what happened earlier and say no these people were coerced no they were told what to say no they were planted there by russia there are going to be skeptics that will think that what do you make of this testimony that guy appears to be painful as it was to watch one of the victims of what allegedly went on there we saw doctors coming out saying they were doctors they were there were chemical experts you can't say that everyone is making this up can you or can you i don't know what do you think. well first of all they're not neither in damascus nor moscow are there they are held in the netherlands once they arrive at sheeple airport they can good the nearest policeman and say could i please have an asylum but they didn't do that they got there they went to the hague they went to the o.p.c. w. commission on the provided evidence and you know this is on freckled and you know
8:27 pm
once again once they arrive had they been coerced they could have easily asked for asylum in the netherlands you know we would have been looking at a completely different case but i was looking at these you know as i was looking into the following some of the arguments they presented and some of the evidence they shewed and so on i was thinking you know how come we didn't hear any similar witnesses in country who last year probably had the area of who not been occupied by journals of mistral would have seen very similar you know people alleged victims or doctors who allegedly. treated some chemicals some people from chemical poisoning saying no no no that was completely not the case and so on and so forth and so the key here actually what happened is that out of luck really this particular area where the really alleged chemical attack took place was not the next day you know delivered to the hands of the whole freed from the terrorists and
8:28 pm
delivered to the hands of the syrian government that's why we have these people preserved to tell us exactly what happened because you're good to go on now because said no the timing of this is well the o.p.c. w. didn't want russia to do what it did today to put these witnesses forward it said no you can do this when we've carried our investigations there's no reason to believe that the. c.w. is a good organization why would it want all the evidence before it came out with its conclusions are you what it was doing what russia had to put forward what was its problem with these people say what they said today don't get it. well we think that the first starter ring happened in damascus because we understand that the o.p.c. w. team in damascus refused to meet those people and then the idea came out of what did with just take into the hague and show them but still you know the likes of the united kingdom for example said we're not going to attend any theater here and so on they refused to see this as evidence obviously pending what the o.p.c. w.t.
8:29 pm
is going to come up with from duma yet it's highly unlikely that they would say personally even if. they will were actually there at the scene as they purport to be medics and indeed victims but we've seen the kid in the video haven't we so you know that he's definitely been there and his father was that his father could have taken his kid out with the militants because the militants came out afterwards with their families but no he remained in his place and he said this is what happened which reminds us for example with the very famous case of armando nish the guy at the back of the car in the back of the ambulance stunned by something picture on pages and then he and his father remained in eastern aleppo when he was liberated by the syrian army they refused to go back there if you go out with the militants they refused money and so on and so forth there is a lot more to it than what is said lionel for international really quit on innocent
8:30 pm
till proven guilty hopefully going to raise some questions by the testimony we heard today would you think it's theater or not some people there i guess will be maybe changing their minds here tonight does it back a question over how quickly the u.k. france and the u.s. went in there without any of this being said come again the questions are here to give the u.s. france were quick to go in there bombing over doomer before any of these witnesses came forward if people were on the fence tonight would it maybe change their minds about what they heard today. here will these three actors were quick to do what they did to bomb the place because they knew they didn't have a solid case they wanted to bomb without with disregard to whatever was happening over there so it shows actually that they knew that there was no chemical attack but they were willing to do whatever it takes you assert their authority or so they think and say we are still on the table and a work of middle east expert thanks for your view from london there thank you very much chuck has more news tonight next it's been revealed that

a dubai based company hired a top level p.r. executive to produce a film linking qatar with terrorism report from the bureau of investigative journalism also claims propaganda material was created for the pentagon breaking it all down our senior correspondent war against you there's no propaganda quite like military propaganda psychological operations that these psyops serious stuff aside from mere unlimited money you also don't have to deal with all those annoying ethical restrictions i just assumed it was news gathering. balancing the process and work in the process so then realize this is a big project so we would do the news items that would go out on the news and around various channels locally and we were to make it as best we could look as if it was made locally belt part to injure specialized didn't military grade

propaganda the british p.r. firm was active in iraq for years to the u.s. commander there they did crazy stuff faked local news reports smeared iran put together. propaganda videos planted them in people's homes and tracked who viewed them i was asked by my boss. we need to make this style of video. and we've got to use it is footage and all their propaganda to it and we're going to track of our google analytics good times last year bellport injure lost its license after it emerged that it likely stooped racial tensions in south africa as part of its work their thing with having morals is once you lose them it's difficult to pick them up again but i digress guess what belled porton just former boss is up to the biggest

diplomatic crisis in the middle east since the first gulf war a growing diplomatic crisis that qatar seems to be in crisis as more middle eastern countries sever diplomatic ties with saudi arabia bahrain egypt and the u.a.e. have all cut diplomatic ties with cut up you know the whole cat saudi arabia schism where the two u.s. allies almost came to blows here that was helped by charles and dreher the man who oversaw bellport injures operations in iraq propagandist extraordinary financial and logistical support for terrorists and terrorism groups like hamas the taliban and al qaida who operate freely out of doha and use business and financial institutions to support radical islam and global jihad. mr ron dreher was paid handsomely by

regime there will fall within less than a week the saudi foreign minister was referring to the presence of over eleven thousand u.s. troops in qatar he made the remarks after donald trump called for money and ground support in syria from his wealthy allies in the middle east over security analyst and former british army officer charles shoebridge believes it is the saudis who should be concerned over their friendship right now with washington. is using this issue as a stick to beat qatar and of course qatar has used its considerable wealth to also attack for example a propaganda term saudi arabia both countries have been uncomfortable allies for some time certainly they've both been backing the syrian rebellion of course in this particular instance saudi arabia knows that qatar is not in a position to physically provide troops on the ground simply because it's armed forces as a small but of course they would like to see qatar finances further trained it's interesting donald trump's remarks and self has said that without us in other words

without the americans those countries would fall within hours or weeks or something like this instead this is a truce that is very rarely spoken publicly and they want to don't deflect attention onto one another. facebook sort of a grilling from lawmakers this time in the u.k. the social media giants been taken to task by employees over the platforms handling of people's private data when questioned over russian online activity around the time of the break vote. has got the details. russian brock's it could have been potentially a hot topic here in westminster this thursday however that did not go quite well as a grilling of a top facebook executive didn't seem to go and produce too much we did look at it several times to understand connections between. russia and the brits a referendum that you meant in two thousand and sixteen we found one dollar of
8:38 pm
spend so this is the extent of what we found which is you know almost nothing given to the ways of the people in that if we had it happen to look good if it did have it it was done in a different way that says you know i can't prove a negative that was facebook's chief technology officer who to add insult to injury was sent by mark zuckerberg to answer any questions depart despite repeated pleas to have the facebook c.e.o. appear before this committee himself and we have to be clear that this is far from the first time one attempts to connect the dots between russia's use of social media and bracks it have failed just previously we know that facebook said that they have found that russia had spent less than a dollar on any ads related to bracks and even when this committee travelled all the way to washington to get more answers that did not produce very much we looked at all advertisements with any connection to russia and we found no evidence of our services being used to interfere in the referendum

a very small number of suspects its research agency linked accounts forty nine such accounts were active during the campaign which represents less than point north of the total number of accounts that these are very low level things until we complete this investigation we won't know but what we haven't had this. information that's enabled those to target on a particular page or a particular phenomenon. the gold club in the u.s. state of pennsylvania has apologized to. five black women for calling the police on them why while they're kicked off the grounds after the koa of a club in his father complained that the women were playing too slowly it's the latest in a series of incidents where african-americans have been arrested or asked to leave a public facility in the u.s. . why. then it was worse on sunday a black woman arrested the waffle house in alabama for refusing to pay for plastic
8:40 pm
utensils the video of her arrest shows officers when she self wrestling to the floor right there was another case as well out of starbucks in philadelphia they called the police on two black men because they did not placed an order and wanted to use the restroom maybe they wanted to place an order afterwards he would know that spoke to waive avanti racism protest. john ok. let. me be ok in response the c.e.o. of starbucks sold all restaurants to close for mandatory anti-racism training following a nationwide campaign against the coffee chain to go reaction from economists to one side they perkins and on the other human rights activist randy sure enough. racism against the two sions is real and that for prejudices real that's that we need to care about america as well as an entire society and look after everyone
8:41 pm
if we don't do this we're going to have worse problems i have enormous difficulty accepting the idea that this young lady trying to run her starbucks in philadelphia spends time thinking about class and segregation and trying to target black people can't she's trying to run the restaurants and she's trying to do. order and keep the business working and not let people take advantage over you guys loitering and not purchasing products from the store while using their facilities how do you stop that from happening again but i don't think that's a little girl running the starbucks as best she can and reluctantly calling the police to sign saying saying loitering again she's thinking about using loitering laws against black people yes there are people that have a literate and businesses. yes there folks out of water some of them of black but i've worked with a lot of white drunks in my day and they don't get handled quite the same way this
8:42 pm
is a fact i'm a glass door lanolin playing another slowly than me and then five women together play very slowly and the entire culture is waiting for the facts as nothing to do it's the fact that they are so low as a long ass people pretend that injustice and mistreatment of people is ok as long as it does not impact yeah that is the problem with the majority it they lack an understanding that it can be us today and it could be them tomorrow now this is where i ask myself the question at what point do you treat black people like ordinary people and subject them to ordinary rules of society at what point do you stop taking every incident as racism and start evaluating them as human beings and how they're reacting that's my question to you next news revelation or is it america broadcast to n.b.c. is joining the dots and discover that these online series you had the right online series in case you missed it is in fact linked to. expose

a journalist said that they look to the registration data of the show's web site and they cross check today against the distribution for. we could decide to have trouble just going to a website called click talk shows there is bold as brass that are found at the well anyway in response to n.b.c. scoop the couldn't resist it in case you missed it took view is behind the scenes to blow the lid off its connection to. so here we are very slick offices although there is a slight smell in the. vodka and caviar. we're in so it was probably a spy i keep an eye on it. but first glance it looks like any other office but take a look below the surface and something starts to seem off we spoke to i see why in my eyes members of staff so tell me what's it like working for someone connected to
8:44 pm
r.t. well i always loved the topless game show tutti frutti when i was at school there here you could you get a skull right but that was that was on the sky channel r.t.l. this is this is r.t. this is this is funded by russia we're talking about well what do you mean r.t. is funded by russia for the russians well. yeah i mean if your parents is mainly just had new stuff over to poly and things like that to be honest i've never really had so much freedom at work no one tells you how to answer for over and i'm just really happy but do you work alone i mean i do not you know really something i like to talk about. sure i have total freedom to study looked at who was what was it talks to move to for a shop and sort of. from toss to look for fuel. or limited supply. on a good collection of approval from. and
8:45 pm

8:46 pm
a desperate last ditch attempt to keep him locked up caleb open report. herman bell the tourist for being a cop killer and a member of the black liberation army will soon become a free man after spending nearly fifty years behind bars for shooting policeman dead now the new york parole board's decision even had the support of a son of one of the slain officers it seems that individuals with no knowledge of ms to bellow the circumstances that led me to support his release many years ago have taken it upon themselves to drum up hate and then gins the parole board of new york might have shown sympathy and a willingness to forgive but not the policeman's union the patrolmen's benevolent association they're guilty then and they guilty now and no copula should ever walk the face of the year now siding with the police's n.y.c. mayor bill de blasio who called for the decision to be reversed and for bell to stay behind bars the parole board received over three hundred sixty seven thousand
8:47 pm
letters urging them not to free herman bell despite his record as a model prisoner well not quite there and not actually that many individual messages the associations website gave compliance the option of automatically sending a letter for each of the sixty two cop killers listed on the site that meant that fewer than six thousand objections to bell's release generated over three hundred sixty seven thousand messages completely distorting the level of the outcry in fact according to one poll eighty six percent of new yorkers support the parole board's decision we decided to talk with some former cops about the associations ethics i can't comprehend a man who openly admitted to killing three cops. i can't comprehend how that person would be allowed to walk the streets i could picture every cop out there being absolutely outraged the point of acting on their motion especially in today's climate where there should be used to do your government is trying their back on
8:48 pm
the police officers i can absolutely picture not one. they're not wanting six hundred thousand plus letters being sent to the pro board to eb requesting this man's parole be denied it's manipulation that's quite a you know i mean. it's very tragic and they actually took three people to put parole is what it is you know we have murders rape is awesome this people to get paroled every single day and hell bent on if you kill a cop they want you just right and jail is supposed to be formed people now cops like to talk about the perilous situations they put themselves in and the public that they serve in order to do that but this incident will leave some in new york questioning their integrity. r.t. new york. i'm kevin know it for me in the mirror mosco thanks so much for watching late this russell was a. hero programs and you'll post will continue right after this break.
8:49 pm
so what we've got to do is identify the threats that we have it's crazy to foundation let it be an arms race is on offense very dramatic development the only really i'm going to resist i don't see how that strategy will be successful very critical time to sit down and talk.
8:50 pm
america has or this is the kaiser report i meant to rob it's the winter time slow spring that could only stanley cup action baby that's why i'm here. plus some other stuff just a safety thanks for the block chain economic event it's being put on by sonny ray we've interviewed him on kaiser report he's the c.e.o. of dot com this is actually back to sort of style break when conferences we have some amazing people at us have and people like adam back people like chris people like who is going to be on the kaiser report while we're here but you know what while we've been here as well. opening her mouth and adopting our way christine let's. say this i.m.f. boss christine legarde praises cryptocurrency and suggests it could transform the way people see and invest i would posit that it has already see you know transform
8:51 pm
the way people save and invest it's already done that she's saying it could do that the coin is a black hole and it is sucking in folks from all walks of life and money from all points on the globe and as it expands it just the wharfs the size of anything else trying to compete with it that includes various money regimes it also includes very high level bankers and economists so chrystia guard is just the latest to get them to the bitcoin black hole and she'll be utterly transformed she'll be talking about the white paper soon everything she thought she knew about economics is over rule everything she thought she knew about the way the world works is now no longer viable she is now an apostle of satoshi welcome christine legarde bugan due to. be. you knew because of fun to do you knew so. low
8:52 pm
i also want to point out somebody else we've mocked many times over the years who also has come around because we didn't give him a lot of attention when he had the large short position in silver in the world we did give him a lot of attention when he basically received a backdoor bailout through the financial crisis we did give him a lot of attention when he called big point a fraud but i do want to remind people from january ninth two thousand and eighteen just a few weeks after jamie dimon had called big point of pride here's a headline that we didn't cover because we were covering the genesis block during that week and that is jamie dimon says he regrets calling bakery a fraud and believes in the technology behind it in september diamond called bitcoin a fraud i regret making that comment he said tuesday on fox business the block chain is real he added in the interview you can have crypto dollars in yan and stuff like that i see oh yes you've got to look at everyone individually the big question was always to me what the governments are going to feel about bitcoin when
8:53 pm
it gets really big and i just have a different opinion and other people say rumor he is a guy who's a statist where he has to be right because you can't be a free market guy and be the head of the largest bank in the world and the largest derivatives book importantly in the world because if that derivatives book blows up as it threatened to do back in two thousand and eight you need big daddy government big mama janet yellen big mama christine lagarde you need these people to bail you out next year jamie diamond will be burning man you'll see a stark naked with honey slab all over his body rolling around on a mound of fire ants with fierce rock i'll be there taping it for the show he'll be our reporter on the ground will be on the plane make it jamie diamond talking about the toshiba aka moto at burning man in twenty eighteen and that's a current. effect that coin has on the mind is the jamie diamond is not as dumb man
8:54 pm
is not a stupid then he doesn't have a functioning brain cells what happens is the block chain starts to reorient those brain cells like gravity effect on a star or a planet or this table or this earth it just changes the way the architect of your mind works especially if you're in the financial industry to begin to understand that you now are apostle of social not comodo so i want to talk about like he had mentioned. that governments would respond if the individuals had too much sovereignty that they're going to smash you they're going to throw you into a gulag they are going to destroy you they will not let you become more powerful than my bank you collectively more powerful than my bank so there is another story related to that that shows that well in fact. bitcoin is censorship resistant you can try all you want to restrict us to put it down but the whole community is global it's decentralized it's peer to peer and it's the smartest
8:55 pm
people in the world now china of course everybody knows is a giant behemoth state they have a lot of control over their citizenry they have a lot of capital controls they have a lot of the great firewall of china and we know that they've cracked down on decline chinese entrepreneurs have some creative responses to the government's crackdown on crypto crypto is far from dead and china is starting to eke back into existence they did a lot of exchanges did leave the country but in it's place are erupting in china unique to china decentralized exchanges we have them here emerging in the united states and canada as well as regulators crackdown in exchanges china september crackdown also included a ban on i c e o o's the crowdfunding schemes based on crypto tokens in china as elsewhere these had acquired a shady reputation companies looking to raise funds quickly were selling digital
8:56 pm
tokens or coins that were supposed to buy access to some product or service in the future but they often had no way to fulfill these promises a chinese term emerged or air token but we predicted that twenty be the air that the nation state is challenged by. and that's exactly what's happening in china it is censorship resistant it is resilient people want to trade people will find a way out of the vietnamese beat america in that war because they were resilient you could bomb all day long but they found a way they found a way to keep going and they eventually beat an empire out of the us beat the british empire we found a way in the end to help us in the cause that we asked a french. law and we beat the empire now we've got a new empire. out there called the nation state and the central banking system that runs on fear money nonsense and big coin will defeat them and the important thing about the eruption of initial queen offerings that happened last year and this kind
8:57 pm
of petered out now that there are crackdowns on it and apparently innovators and entrepreneurs are finding ways around the regulations but it did show that the likes of jamie dimon had failed there was a demand for the likes of jamie dimon what he considers you know the good guys of the regulators and government that they had cracked down too much there was demand by people to invest in things they wanted her to participate in the financial environment the small young guys with an idea wanted to raise capital and there was it was hard for them to access that capital as they point out here the i.c.a.o. ban suppressed this digital crowdfunding of i.c.a.o. but it didn't address the root of the problem illegal fundraising of all kinds has thrived in china because the formal banking sector still favors large corporations and state owned enterprises smaller firms and entrepreneurs rely on a shadow banking sector to meet their needs for financing it's very similar in the u.s. obviously it's a more advanced financial system than in china in terms of the state owned banks
8:58 pm
but not too dissimilar i mean the small and medium sized enterprises don't have access to capital like the ones like amazon they could borrow money and do borrow money to share but buybacks and things like write well there is a political edge to it because in china as entrepreneurs find ways to do enron around the regulatory system and to swap an exchange and do all kinds of crypto related businesses the message will not go unnoticed by anyone looking to pursue free speech in china so no matter how they try to clamp down on free speech there will they'll find a way to get the free speech out there just like they're finding a way right now to get crypto out there so crypto is leading the way both and finance and in political activism gearing up to an. environment where no state can control speech it's censorship resistant in many many ways including that it's being used the power of block change
8:59 pm
technology and bitcoin that birth it is that even states are able to see that you know when one state like the u.s. controls the global financial system and you cannot access the rails of that financial system without jamie dimon or u.s. regulators saying you can access these rails then you're cut off from the grid and you know your nation can starve but if there is a decentralized peer to peer anonymous network that is neutral and it functions simply as the rails of a free market system better treats all participants in the market is equal then. you know it's not you can't censor it there's no way to stop transactions from people to get it coming together agreeing to a price for a product and exchanging ideas or products right so the forces that created the
9:00 pm
birth of the universe the black hole the forces that create the birth of life itself the day to procreate the forces that guide us as living beings on the multiverse i'm not going to be stopped by any state recording releases power that is beyond even atomic power this is cosmic power it can't be stopped atomic swaps are coming atomic swaps are coming you know you can't you can't stop this with any force. and all nation states got together and tried to stop because they would fail and that's very liberating i pointed out that decentralized exchanges are emerging all over the world they're updating from you know the plasm of this new ecosystem and. and there's evolution of ideas and the more people governments or regulators try to stop it the more anti fragile it becomes the more robust every time it keeps on coming back
9:01 pm
stronger and stronger but the article actually suggests that china the chinese government doesn't actually so much mind all this stuff happening they were worried about the destabilization in the financial system which they control because so many chinese investors were pouring into ice ceo's and there were a lot of scams around so the article points out that these activities of allowing air drops and decentralized exchanges may appear to go directly against the chinese government's orders but in a sense they may be what chinese officials wanted to see in their september edict the authorities talked about avoiding market chaos strengthening the education of investors and collectively safeguarding the normal financial order by china doesn't have a fundamental aversion to digital currencies in fact the central bank is developing its own currency additional currency will bring about a new financial ecosystem said shanklin ben dean of the academy of internet finance university the purpose of the crackdown he said was to curb excessive speculation
9:02 pm
and give the authorities time to upgrade their regulatory capabilities they were digging a hole and they decided to stop doing and declare a victory ok that was on their decision the decision was not the polar pure of trying to figure out they're just reacting to this big cooling black hole is sucking up the entire nation of china and then when the rules china is being sucked into the big black hole if you want to be stocked up in this because black hole stay tuned for the second half and you too will be sucked up into the quite black hole right after these words. yeah played.
9:03 pm
i've been saying the numbers mean something they matter the u.s. has over one trillion dollars in debt more than ten white collar crimes happen huge day. eighty five percent of the global wealth you long for the ultra rich eight point six percent market saw thirty percent rise last year for some with four hundred to five hundred trade per second per second and fifth point rose to twenty thousand dollars. china is building a two point one billion dollar a i industrial heartland but don't let the numbers overwhelm. the only number you need to remember is one the one business show you can't afford to miss the one and only bull by. six points.
9:04 pm
9:05 pm
or welcome back to the kaiser part i'm max kaiser time now to turn to a very special guest i'll preface this by saying cometh the hour cometh the man and i'll explain live in more what i mean by that tel inveighs welcome to the kaiser report thanks max it's great to be on finally are over watching your show throughout two thousand and thirteen and fourteen and even before that i actually got me of typically oh that's awesome. you know i mentioned at the top that cometh the hour come with them and you know i think that going back to twenty seventeen bitcoin actually faced a bit of an existential crisis with this segue it story and you guys over there the world cup the network i'll give them a big shout out you really nurse to the community through
9:06 pm
a difficult period with actually media and great communication and just so little to folks about this is pretty complicated story but if you can kind of encapsulate that what happened it was really a rough time now we look back at it it wasn't a spur of the moment how everything was happening you never really had a chance to step back and think it was all about whether we can or can't have big blocks and while there was a moment where i thought yeah maybe we could go to a bigger bloc and increase the big size of the or the throughput of the month of transactions it was realized fairly quickly that no one has the power to force everybody in the community to upgrade their big coin nodes to have double the size of the blocks to go to two megabytes or beyond and the only solution was to find a way to scale without doing the surrogate and witness was a great coding upgrade that didn't force everyone to update it stayed within the
9:07 pm
consensus rules and it was the only way to go the user activate itself or it was a little bit reckless a little bit dangerous i'm glad i got. the bandwagon around june july and by august it was clear that it was going to win and i believe that we did ok there was a bit of an element there town that you know talking about the the elements that were involved in that that it seemed as though we had a big blocks or smaller blocks it seemed like there was a corporate agenda almost that there were some old geezer in the space and corporations and fund managers that were really leaning on the whole big block story to satisfy a commercial and and the protocol did them almost as bad actors in the space i agree with though i wouldn't go as far as it was some kind of an agenda a lot of the businesses have structured their businesses based on certain conditions
9:08 pm
but bitcoin isn't the company bit coin didn't promise anything to anyone and just because some businesses were really dependent on micro chance auctions before the system was able to feasibly do them for you cheaply those businesses were going to be in a little bit of trouble of the how to do more development than they wanted to or just the segway and i think they wanted to take the lazy way out and force every user to upgrade and the user said no the companies need to upgrade with bitcoin this is what they chose and eventually all of those companies had to upgrade their systems to account for it and now we have a lot of transactions processing very very quickly and very cheaply and i think the system is so much better and so much more secure no those asserted themselves this is the miners they did and which is a good thing because when so she initially launched it she did say one c.p.u. one vote but that was under the assumption that everyone is pretty much a minor everyone that wants a node can also mine with
9:09 pm
a six and the advancements in mining that was no longer feasible so how does a regular corner have a voice in the system and they do that by right. and there all no doubt and by validating their own transactions and the miners urges they are to make money by creating new coins by processing our transactions and not dictate the future of development some say that the way to be a typical honor is to run your own do great i agree i run my own noda i have been running a single minor rodeo minor is actually very difficult trying to operate my miner now and running into difficulties but i look i have a lot of respect for those that are able to run mining operations i do but again if this is going to be a decentralized peer to peer value transfer system the average person has to have a say in it somehow and right now they have a say by processing their own transactions with their own note i say your claim to
9:10 pm
fame so to speak you teach people how to look at technical analysis in a big way that's something that you're big in the community for and let me just give it some background here you like myself kind of have a background on wall street and you've done a lot of options trading and so you have a fan of base experience in the securities industry which is different than many people that come into crypto because they kind of come into it really without any experience in securities or wall street whatsoever but so when you talk to people back technical analysis what are you trying to teach them what what what what's your goal they're just trying to teach people trading is difficult and it's a skill set and you don't just come in and do it what i've noticed when i came into the space and twenty thirteen and twenty fourteen is that so many people were now becoming traders because there was such a little barrier to entry and being a trader because of crypto there's no age restriction no jew graphical restriction
9:11 pm
no financial restrictions you can share with one hundred two hundred dollars a lot of gamblers came within a space of schrader's because a lot of gambling sites and poker sites were paying out in crypto in big. coin mostly and these guys say i want to do something else i don't have to play poker all the time i'm going to start trading and what i've noticed is that we're wasn't many professional traders and competent traders in the space so i started writing articles about technical analysis and the grew into a huge shadow about technical analysis and trying to predict the price of big i've had lots of really good calls i've had a few bad calls too i mean just the life of being a trader and now i've just been traveling the country doing little workshops of ten to twenty people that want to spend the whole day learning the basics of technical analysis for trading i can only help any trader well the great value in this is twofold one is traders obviously looking for gains
9:12 pm
but probably more important with technical analysis it's address is risk management risk management is the key to trading success it's something that technical analysis helps because it gives you the ability to pick price points where you might want to put on some a strategy to get you out of a market that's not going in your favor this type of thing would you agree with that absolutely i think doubt a trader should trade as least a spa simple if you want to pick the perfect points where the statistics and probabilities are in your favor and the best advantage to technical analysis it can tell you where you are wrong based on technical analysis and you're entering a trade for a position you should already have a metric saying ok if it goes against me this amount i need to get out of this trade and wait for another opportunity sell saying technical analysis if you have a certain threshold that you are designating as your risk tolerance that applies to
9:13 pm
any security any all call any coin across any market regardless of what the company or the coin is about you have a certain bias toward risk this helps you manage that risk talk about wall street for a second you know future. contracts are introduced in late two thousand and seventeen december twenty seventh seen hasn't had any impact of anything i don't think it had any actual impact on because other than the homo speculation that took place leading into those contracts i felt last year seventy five hundred should have been the top four because when i underestimated the kind of full blown exuberance people will have by the fact that a ball should this coming in the price went all the way to twenty thousand i mean i was trying to predict that each step of the way and the data futures launched people realize that hey it's not that big a deal the volume on the futures while increasing every week is still pretty small they're also cash saddled and because they're cash saddled they shouldn't have much of an effect on the underlying price of fifth corps and it's not like the gold
9:14 pm
futures where the futures themselves are price discovery for gold futures on big coin are more like the s. and p. five hundred futures they don't really have an effect on the underlying stocks of the s. and p. five hundred so i see it as the same way and it wasn't dot big of a deal after they launched and it's great because now because it is definitely more legit to all of the average person that is thinking should i get in should i not get in while clearly the c.m.e. in the financial world considers it legit because of the futures so i think it has a long it's a great go and forward but as far as immediate effect on the price of a quinn i don't think it has hold out much i'm talking about a loss in again a futures contract does give an institutional player ability to manage risk because they can heads a position which means they can take bigger positions and this is unique now to big point because there are no futures contracts on any other all going at the moment so my question is about all the clients i think some people view you as being a big big point maximalist. tend to shun the old coin market in sydney
9:15 pm
talk a little bit about. that that that that that idea i am odd bit of a bit colin maximalist but that's not because. i hate all of the old coins and i think that coin is going to be cave because i have money. i only do that because it is going to be the winner and that's where the money isn't quite as far as the old coins go there was a round of old coins that came in in the early days of twenty fourteen coins like light coins coins like one hour like your own coin max coin these like. banks going when these old coins showed up i didn't have a problem with these coins because they wore honestly created with the genesis block and like everybody knew about it they were launched well it's case of light coin it was all fair game for anyone to get and then the next round of old coins came in as a sole source for the files or to get rich and i immediately classify all of those
9:16 pm
coins as i would write scams because if the father has an advantage or if you mine the coin for a month and then it goes through five steak and then the next round of koans which is what a theory of kicked off was where you actually created from the beginning and pre-sell it to a bunch of people which i thought was an outright security like in the case of a theory and every i.c. over the followed so to me they got three ms and i see you know it isn't i see ok misery for the people started calling it. correct it is a nice yeah right and it is a security hole to me it is wall street better imo lost the better it looks like a duck it smells like a duck and quacks like a dud it's a flick and security so so to me everything just got progressively worse now i will say that even though i don't consider coins like my school in like like one like my narrow scams like i do on the rast i still feel that there is only room for one block chain the way we only have room for one internet so i do think that bitcoin will continue to separate from all of these other old coins even the honestly
9:17 pm
created ones over time the way like amazon continues to separate from any other online retailer right so i would put i.c.l. is into that category of securities offerings i see. think we would agree on that and i'm going to move on to my last question which is that the twenty eighteen twenty nineteen time horizon what about the emerging second layer a bit coy like lightning network so your thoughts i think that the lightning network and all the progress that's happening there is moving in faster than i expected i think they are going to focus on making it very user friendly to the point where it's still complicated to set up your own because a node but it should be as easy as da loading an up to house your own lightning no and using these lightning channels they should bring micro transactions the thing that people were expecting on the protocol itself but a lot of smart engineers basically looked at inside that's not really feasible on how the system scale so i really am looking forward to all those lightning channels
9:18 pm
give us micro transactions and this should give you another layer of privacy i think there could be. a lots of good things that could be done as a second layer of corn to obscure those transactions to finally may pick one fungible and actually anonymous all right tom thanks so much for being on the kaiser report thank you already well that's going to do it for this edition of the kaiser report was made by skies are states are we want to thank tone vanes legend if you want to catch us on twitter it's kaiser report so next time i'll. in july twenty second to you from the elsa to the freedoms journalist working with a. militant and serial. killer who sacrifice teaches us to wish to know
9:19 pm
the answer to the real the people as well reporters who will still risk to do. so you can see truth comes through that. you can submit to your published works and the video will britain for you go to a window on t.v. don't come into no. look at the blockade in the animosity for fifty almost sixty years did it change the regime in cuba no the last administration realized that the majority of cuban americans wanted normalizations the normalised and when you normalize you can talk . and i want to tell you from my experience in cuba when the united states and you sugar instead of a hammer things change in cuba in the way that the united states wanted it.
9:20 pm
tonight the development from the hague on the alleged chemical attack in syria is doing that with russia inviting local witnesses to give their story as they testified that the incident will stay. in another level or in the basement and then heard someone outside scream go to the hospital we were scared they started to pull water on me i don't know why they did this of on them as professionals we saw that there were no symptoms suggesting chemical weapons had been used. coming up to pressure is mounting on the qatari regime from its regional rivals now there are claims that dubai based company commissioned a film linking the beleaguered gold state to terrorism in order to justify sanctions. and even dollar facebook's technology chief stresses to
9:21 pm
british employees but most goes spending on june the brics it vote total of ninety seven said. hi this is art international broadcasting worldwide from r.t. h.q. moscow with me kevin zero eleven pm here now and first no symptoms of chemical poisoning that local doctors are describing the aftermath of the attack in the syrian city of duma on april the seventh witnesses explained how it all unfolded to the un but chemical dog alongside russia's representative to the group is peter all of the reports well russia's main representative russia's permanent representative to the o p c w alexander should begin he was unequivocal in what he had to say he described the incident that took place in doomer on the seventh of april as
9:22 pm
a slot police staged a chemical attack saying that the blame lay with the likes of the united states france and the united kingdom for actually carrying out the staging of that now he was also backed up and then statements by the syrian representative to the o.p.c. w. and was then later followed by a series of different witnesses who were on the scene in. that tank now one of those and perhaps the most profound of those was eleven year old has sunday up he was one of those people that was prominently featured in in videos of the alleged chemical attack. he described a very different scene in that they have a. we were in the basement and then heard someone outside scream go to hospital we were scared they started to pour water on me i don't know why they did this.
9:23 pm
to. me. do you remember where it happened. right here. and there is it. here it is. that they poured water on me they put me here and then took me upstairs to my mother. and that's me in the video that's me. yes it was a long press conference it was a very detailed press conference they they also brought up to the stage a number of doctors who'd been on duty in the hospital at the time they went into
9:24 pm
at times excruciating detail about what they saw and what they didn't see on that day on the seventh of april in fact some doctors saying that although they trained people for us to fix the ation for problems with breathing they didn't treat people with the symptoms that you would associate with a chemical poisoning. on the seventh of april i was in the emergency room treating patients injured during the fighting the same day around seven pm we started receiving patients with breathing problems about fifteen cases this happened because people were nailing smoke and dust they only showed symptoms of choking and nothing more it's all happened because one missile hit a building nearby and a lot of does go into the hospital rooms people had injuries they had trouble breathing but we had patients like that arriving all the time and the screams chemical weapons chemical weapons were used to create panic. this lasted for about
9:25 pm
an hour we were treating the patients and sending them home we had no fatalities or instances of people suffering from poisonous substances so certainly far more questions are being raised following this press conference that have been announced it. seems so we got expert opinion on the reaction coming from western countries to the latest revelations. either either ignored or attempts will be made to go. on the mine it in fact is that attempts are already on the way but i think when ordinary people see the footage has been really. abound very impressed and in fact anybody with half a brain could see that these are credible witnesses they refused to see this as evidence obviously pending what the o.p.c. w. team is going to come up with from duma yet it's highly unlikely that they would say risible that there was

in response to see you know starbucks ordered all restaurants to close with a mandatory anti racism training slogan nationwide campaign against the coffin change we go reaction from economist dave perkins and human rights activists run the show of racism against the two sions as real and that were prejudices real exit that we need to care about america as well as an entire society and look after everyone if we don't do this we're going to have worse problems i have enormous difficulty accepting the idea that this young lady trying to run her starbucks in philadelphia spends time thinking about class and segregation and trying to target black beetle that she's trying to run the restaurants and she's trying to do. order and keep the business working and not let people take advantage over you guys loitering and not purchasing products from the store while using their facilities
9:37 pm
how do you stop that from happening again and i don't think that's a little girl running the starbucks as best she can reluctantly calling the police to sign saying saying loitering again is thinking about using loitering laws against black people yes they're people that have a literate and businesses yes there are folks out of water some of them of black but i've worked with a lot of white drunks in my day and they don't get handle quite the same way this is a fact i'm not going to last or play a role in playing another slowly than men and five women together play very slowly in the entire culture is waiting for the fact that i would like has nothing to do with it it's the fact that they are lol as a long ass people pretend that injustice and mistreatment of people is ok as as long. that does not impact yeah that is the problem with the majority they lack an understanding that it can be us today and it can be them tomorrow now this is where

a number of doctors who had been on duty in the hospital at the time and they went into at times excruciating detail about what they saw and what they didn't see on that day on the seventh of april in fact some doctors saying that although they trained people for us to fix the ation for problems with breathing they didn't treat people with the symptoms that you would associate with a chemical poisoning. on the seventh of april i was in the emergency room treating patients injured during the fighting the same day around seven pm we started receiving patients with breathing problems about fifteen cases this happened because people were nailing smoke and dust they only showed symptoms of choking and nothing more it all happened because one missile hit a building nearby and a lot of does go into the. hospital rooms people had injuries they had trouble breathing but we had patients like that arriving all the time and the screams chemical weapons chemical weapons we used to create panic this lasted for about an

first of all that there was a chemical attack while these three activists were quick to do what they did to bomb the place because they knew they didn't have a solid case they wanted to bomb without with disregard to whatever was happening over there so it shows actually that they knew that there was no chemical attack but they were willing to do whatever it takes us or there are forty or so they think and say we're still on the table. it's been revealed that a dubai based company hired a top level p.r. executive to produce a film linking catarrh with terrorism a report from the bureau of investigative journalism also claims propaganda material was created for the pentagon breaking it all down forus more again as they have a senior correspondent. there's no propaganda quite like military propaganda psychological operations that these psyops serious stuff aside from near unlimited money you also don't have to deal with all those annoying ethical restrictions on tissues

a particular phenomenon. the gold club in the state of pennsylvania has apologized to five black women for calling the police on them they were kicked off the groans after the code owner of the club and his father complained that women were playing get this too slowly well it's the latest in a series of incidents where african-americans have been arrested or asked to leave a public facility in the u.s. . why you are. most sunday then a black woman is arrested at a waffle house sees the picture is not a bomb and for refusing to pay pone for plastic utensils or video of her unrest shows offices wrestling it to the floor and then it was another case two weeks ago and stone books in philadelphia stuff there called the police on two black men because they apparently not placed an order and wanted to use the restroom that sparked a wave of one to racism protests. by. john k. i didn't want my son. to school to see you know starbucks hold it all restaurants

to close for mandatory anti racism training following a nationwide campaign against the coffee chain we go reaction from economist at perkins and human rights activists randy short and i. know racism against the two shins is real and the were prejudices real that we need to care about america as well as an entire society and look after everyone if we don't do this we're going to have worse problems i have enormous difficulty accepting the idea that this young lady trying to run her starbucks in philadelphia spends time thinking about class and segregation and trying to target black beetle can't she's trying to run the restaurants and she's trying to do. order and keep the business working and not let people take advantage over you guys loitering and not purchasing products from

the store while using their facilities how do you stop that from happening again but i don't think that's a little girl running the starbucks as best she can and reluctantly calling the police to sign saying saying loitering again is thinking about using loitering laws against black people yes there are people that have a literate and businesses yes there are folks out of water some of them of black but i've worked with a lot of white drunks in my. day and they don't get handled quite the same way this is a fact i'm a glass lanolin playing another slowly than men then five women together play very slowly and the entire culture is waiting for the fact has nothing to do with it it's the fact that they are lol as a long ass people pretend that injustice and mistreatment of people is ok as long as it does not impact yeah that is the problem with the majority it they lack an understanding that it can be us today and it could be them tomorrow now this is where i asked myself the question at what point do you treat black people like

sixty seven thousand messages completely distorting the level of the outcry in fact according to one poll eighty six percent of new yorkers support the parole board's decision we decided to talk with some former cops about the associations ethics i can't comprehend a man who openly admitted to killing three cops. i can't comprehend how that person would be allowed to walk the streets i could picture every cop out there being absolutely outraged the point of acting on their motion especially in today's climate where they are still abused do your government is trying their back on the police officers i can absolutely picture now one. they're not wanting six hundred thousand plus letters being sent to the parole board to eb requesting this man's parole be denied it's manipulation you know i mean i remember this very tragic incident he actually sued three people to put parole is what it is you know we have

10:52 pm
way people see and invest i would posit that it has already see you know transform the way people save and invest it's already done that she's saying it could do that because it is a black hole and it is sucking in folks from all walks of life and money from all points on the globe and as it expands it just the wharfs the size of anything else trying to compete with it that includes various money regimes it also includes very high level bankers and economists so christine legarde is just the latest to get them to the bitcoin black hole and she'll be utterly transformed she'll be talking about the white paper soon everything she thought she knew about economics is over rule everything she thought she knew about the way the world works is now no longer viable she is now an apostle of satoshi welcome christine legarde bugan do. new. fun to do the new.

law i also want to point out somebody else we've mocked many times over the years who also has come around because we didn't give him a lot of attention when he had the large short position in silver in the world we did give him a lot of attention when he basically received a back door bell out through the financial crisis we did give him a lot of attention when he called bitcoin a fraud but i do want to remind people from january ninth two thousand and eighteen just a few weeks after jamie dimon had called big point a fraud here's a headline that we didn't cover because we were covering the genesis block during that week and that is jamie dimon says he regrets calling big careen a fraud and believes in the technology behind it in september diamond called bitcoin a fraud i regret making that comment he said tuesday on fox business the block chain is real he added in the interview you can have crypto dollars in yam and stuff like that i see oh yes you've got to look at everyone individually the big

question was to me what the governments are going to feel about bitcoin when it gets really big and i just have a different opinion and other people say rumor he is a guy who's a statist what he has to be right because you can't be a free market guy and be the head of the largest bank in the world and the largest derivatives book importantly in the world because of that derivatives book blows up as it threatened to do back in two thousand and eight you need big daddy government big mama janet yellen big mama christine lagarde you need these people to bail you out next year jamie diamond will be at burning man you'll see stark naked with honey slab all over his body rolling around on a mound of fire ants with fierce rock i'll be there taping it for the show he'll be our reporter on the ground will be on the plane and make it jamie diamond talking about the toshiba aka moto at burning man in twenty eight and that's
10:55 pm
a common. effect that coin has on the mind is the jamie diamond is not as dumb man is not a stupid then he doesn't have a functioning brain cells what happens is the block chain starts to reorient those brain cells like gravity effect on a star or a planet or this table or this earth it just changes the way the architect of your mind works especially if you're in the financial industry to begin to understand that you now are an apostle of social nakamoto so i want to talk about like he had mentioned. that governments would respond if the individuals had too much sovereignty that they're going to smash you they're going to throw you into a gulag they are going to destroy you they will not let you become more powerful than my bank you collectively more powerful than my bank so there is another story related to that that shows that well in fact. bitcoin is censorship resistant you can try all you want to restrict us to put it down but the whole

community is global it's decentralized it's peer to peer and it's the smartest people in the world now china of course everybody knows is a giant behemoth state they have a lot of control over their citizenry they have a lot of capital controls they have a lot of the great firewall of china and we know that they've cracked down on big point chinese entrepreneurs have some creative responses to the government's crackdown on crypto crypto is far from dead in china is starting to eke back into existence they did a lot of exchanges did leave the country but in its place are erupting in china unique to china decentralized exchange as we have them here emerging in the united states and canada as well as regulators crack down in exchanges china september crackdown also included a ban on i c o o's the crowdfunding schemes based on crypto tokens in china as elsewhere these

had acquired a shady reputation companies looking to raise funds quickly were selling digital tokens or coins that were supposed to buy access to some product or service in the future but they often had no way to fulfill these promises a chinese term emerged keep or air tokens but we predicted that twenty year that the nation state is challenged by it and that's exactly what's happening in china it is censorship resistant it is resilient people want to trade people will find a way out of the vietnamese beat america in that war because they were resilient you could bomb all day long but they found a way they found a way to keep going and they eventually beat an empire out of the us beat the british empire we found a way in the end to be helped in a cause that we asked a french. law and we beat the empire now we've got a new empire. they're called the nation state and the central banking system that runs on fear money nonsense and big coin will defeat them and the important thing
10:58 pm
about the eruption of initial quain offerings that happened last year and this kind of petered out now that there are crackdowns on it and apparently innovators and entrepreneurs are finding ways around the regulations but it did show that the likes of jamie dimon had failed there was a demand for the likes of jamie dimon what he considers you know the good guys of the regulators and government that they had cracked down too much there was demand by people to invest in things they wanted her temper to speak in the financial environment the small young guys with an idea wanted to raise capital and that was it was hard for them to access a capital as they point out here that i see oban suppressed this digital crowdfunding of i.c.a.o. but it didn't address the root of the problem illegal fundraising of all kinds has thrived in china because the formal banking sector still favors large corporations and state owned enterprises smaller firms and entrepreneurs rely on a shadow banking sector to meet their needs for financing it's very similar in the
10:59 pm
u.s. obviously it's a more advanced financial system than in china in terms of the state owned banks but not too dissimilar i mean the small and medium sized enterprises don't have access to capital like the ones like amazon they could borrow money and do borrow money to share but buybacks and things like write well there is a political edge to it because in china as entrepreneurs find ways to do enron around the regulatory system and to swap an exchange and do all kinds of crypto related businesses the message will not go unnoticed by anyone looking to pursue free speech in china so no matter how they try to clamp down on free speech there will they'll find a way to get the free speech out there just like they're finding a way right now to get crypto out there so crypto is leading the way both and finance and in political activism gearing up to an. environment where no state can control speech it's censorship resistant in many
11:00 pm
many ways including that it's being used the power of block change technology and bitcoin that birth it is that even states are able to see that you know when one state like the u.s. controls the global financial system and you cannot access the rails of that financial system without jamie dimon or u.s. regulators saying you can access these rails then you're cut off from the grid in your you know your nation can starve but if there is a decentralized peer to peer on a miss network that is neutral and it functions simply as the rails of a free market system betters treats all participants in the market is equal then. you know it's it's not you can't censor it there's no way to stop transactions from people to get it coming together agreeing to a price for a product and exchanging ideas or products right so look at the forces that created

becomes the more robust every time it keeps on coming back stronger and stronger but the article actually suggests that china the chinese government doesn't actually so much mind all this stuff happening they were worried about the destabilization in the financial system which they control because so many chinese investors were pouring into ice ceo's and there were a lot of scams around so the article points out that these activities of allowing air drops and decentralized exchanges may appear to go directly against the chinese government's orders but in a sense they may be what chinese officials wanted to see in their september edict the authorities talked about avoiding market chaos strengthening the education of investors and collectively safeguarding the normal financial order by china doesn't have. fundamental aversion to digital currencies in fact the central bank is developing its own currency additional currency will bring about a new financial ecosystem said shanklin ben dean of the academy of internet finance

as university the purpose of the crackdown he said was to curb excessive speculation and give the authorities time to upgrade their regulatory capabilities they were digging a hole and they decided to stop thinking and declare victory ok it was on their decision that decision was not the pole appear of trying to figure out they're just reacting to this bitcoin black hole is sucking up the entire nation of china and then when the rules china is being sucked into the big black hole if you want to be stocked up on this because like all states soon for the second half and you too will be sucked up into the clock all right after these words. look at the blockade in the animosity for fifty almost sixty years did it change

11:05 pm
watching the show throughout two thousand and thirteen and fourteen even before that actually got me into because that's awesome. days you know i mentioned at the top that cometh the hour come with them and you know i think that going back to twenty seventeen it going to actually face a bit of an existential crisis with this segue it story and you guys over there the world cup the network i'll give them a big shout out really nurse to the community through a difficult period with actually media and great communication and just tell little folks about this is a pretty complicated story but if you can kind of encapsulate that what happened it was really a rough time now we look back at it it wasn't a spur of the moment how everything was happening you never really had a chance to step back and think it was all about whether we can or can't have big blocks and while there was a moment where i thought yeah maybe we could go to a bigger block and increase the big size of the or the throughput of the month of
11:06 pm
transactions it was realized fairly quickly that no one has the power to force everybody in the community to upgrade their big coin nodes to have double the size of the blocks to go to two megabytes or beyond and the only solution was to find the way to scale without doing that so very good witness was a great coding upgrade that didn't force everyone to update it stayed within the consensus rules and it was the only way to go the user activate itself fork was a little bit reckless a little bit dangerous i'm glad i got. the bandwagon around june july and by august it was clear that it was going to win and i believe that we did ok there was a bit of an element there town that you know talking about the the elements that were involved in that that it seemed as though we had a big blocks or smaller blocks it seemed like there was a corporate agenda almost that there were some old g.'s in the space of corporations and fund managers that were really leaning on the whole big block
11:07 pm
story to satisfy a commercial and and the protocol ject of them almost as bad actors in the space i agree with though i wouldn't go as far as it was some kind of an agenda a lot of the businesses have structured their businesses based on certain conditions but bitcoin isn't the company bitcoin didn't promise anything to anyone and just because some businesses were really dependent on micro chance auctions before the system was able to feasibly do them for you cheaply those businesses were going to be in a little bit of trouble and the had to do more development than they wanted to adjust the segway and i think they wanted to take the lazy way out and force every user to upgrade and the user said no the companies need to upgrade with bitcoin this is what they chose and eventually all of those companies had to upgrade their systems to account for it and now we have
11:08 pm
a lot of transactions processing very very quickly and very cheaply and i think the system is so much better and so much more secure no those asserted themselves this is the miners they did and which is a good thing because when soto she initially launched it she did say one c.p.u. one vote but that was under the assumption that everyone is pretty much a miner and whether once a node could also mine with a six and the advancements in mining that was no longer feasible so how does a regular corner have a voice in the system and they do that by running. they're all no doubt and by validating their own transactions and the miners' urges they are to make money by creating new coins by processing our transactions and not dictate the future of development some say that the way to be a typical honor is to run your own do great i agree i wrote my own note i have been running a single minor running a minor is actually very difficult i'm trying to upgrade my minor now and i'm running into difficulties but i look i have
11:09 pm
a lot of respect for those that are able to run mining operations i do but again if this is going to be a decentralized peer to peer value transfer system. person has to have a say in it somehow and right now they have a say by processing their own transactions with their own note i say your claim to fame so to speak you teach people how to look at technical analysis in a big way that's something that you're big in the community for and let me just give us some background here you like myself kind of have a background on wall street and you've done a lot of options trading and so you have a base experience in the securities industry which is different than many people that come into crypto because they kind of come into it really without any experience in securities or wall street whatsoever but so when you talk to people back technical analysis what are you trying to teach them what what what what's
11:10 pm
your goal they're just trying to teach people trading is difficult and it's a skill set and you don't just come in and do it what i've noticed when i came into the space and twenty thirteen and twenty fourteen is that so many people were now becoming traders because there was such a little barrier to entry and being a trader because of crypto there's no age restriction no jew graphical restriction no financial restrictions you can share with one hundred two hundred dollars a lot of gamblers came within a space of schrader's because a lot of gambling sites and poker sites were paying out in crypto in bits. point mostly and these guys hey i want to do something else i don't have to play poker all the time i'm going to start trading and what i've noticed is that we're wasn't many professional traders and competent traders in the space so i started writing articles about technical analysis and the grew into a you tube channel about technical analysis and trying to predict the price of decor and i've had lots of really good calls i've had a few bad calls too i mean just the life of being a trader and now i've been traveling the country doing little workshops of ten to
11:11 pm
twenty people that want to spend a whole day learning the basics of technical analysis for trading i can only help any trader well the great value in this is twofold one is traders obviously looking for gains but probably more important with technical analysis it's address is risk management risk management is the key to trading success it's something that technical analysis helps because it gives you the ability to pick price points where you might want to put on some a strategy to get you out of a market that's not going in your favor this type of thing would you agree with that absolutely i think doubt a trader should trade as least a spa simple if you want to pick the perfect points where the statistics and probabilities are in your favor and the best advantage to technical analysis it can
11:12 pm
tell you where you are wrong based on technical analysis and you're entering a trade for a position you should already have a metric saying ok if it goes against me this amount i need to get out of this trade and wait for another opportunity sell saying technical analysis if you have a certain threshold that you are designating as your risk tolerance that applies to any security any all call any coin across any market regardless of what the company or the coin is about you have a certain bias toward risk this helps you manage that risk talk about wall street for a second you know futures. contractor interest in late two thousand and seventeen december twenty seventh seen hasn't had any impact of anything i don't think it had any actual impact on because other than the homo speculation that took place leading into those contracts i felt last year seventy five hundred should have been the top four because when i underestimated the kind of full blown exuberance people will have by the fact that a ball should this coming in the price went all the way to twenty thousand i mean i
11:13 pm
was trying to predict that each step of the way and the data futures launched people realize that hey it's not that big a deal the volume on the futures while increasing every week is still pretty small they're also cash settled and because their cash settled they shouldn't have much of an effect on the underlying price of fifth corps and it's not like the gold futures where the futures themselves are price discovery for gold futures on big coin are more like the s. and p. five hundred futures they don't really have an effect on the underlying stocks of the s. and p. five hundred so i see it as the same way and it wasn't dot big of a deal after they launched and it's great because now because it is definitely more legit to all of the average person that is thinking should i get in should i not get in while clearly the c.m.e. in the financial world considers it legit because of the futures so i think it has a long it's a great go and forward but as far as immediate effect on the price of a coin i don't think it has hold out much i'm talking about a loss in again
11:14 pm
a futures contract does give an institutional player ability to manage risk because they can heads a position which means they can take bigger positions and this is unique now to big point because there are no futures contracts on any other all going at the moment so my question is about all the goings i think some people view you as being a big big point maximalist. tend to shun the old coin market in sydney talk a little bit about. that that that that that idea i am a bit of a big maximalist but that's not because. i hate all of the old coins and i think their coin is going to be cave because i have money in decline i only do that because it is going to be the winner and that's where the money isn't quite as far as the old coins go there was a round of old coins that came in in the early days of twenty fourteen coins like light coins coins like one hour like your own coin max coin these like. banks going when these old coins showed up i didn't have
11:15 pm
a problem with these coins because they wore honestly created with the genesis block and like everybody knew about it they were launched well it's case of light coin it was all fair game for anyone to get and then the next round of old points came in as a sole source for the files or to get rich and i immediately classify all of those coins as outright scams because if the father has an advantage or if you mine the coin for a month and then it goes through five steak and then the next round of koans which is what a theory of kicked off was where you actually created from the beginning and pre-sell it to a bunch of people which i thought was an outright security like in the case of a theory and every i.c. over the followed so to me they've got three ms and i see you know it is and i see ok misery for the people started calling it. correct it is a nice yeah right and it is a security hole to me it is wall street that are on the last event or it looks like a duck it smells like a duck and quacks like a dud it isn't like insecurity so so to me everything just got progressively worse
11:16 pm
now i will say that even though i don't consider coins like max school in like like one like my narrow scams like i do on the rest i still feel that there is only room for one block chain the way we only have room for one internet so i do think that bitcoin will continue to separate from all of these other old coins even the honesty created ones over time the way you like amazon continues to separate from any other online retailer right so i would put i.c.l. is into that category of securities offerings i saying. we would agree on that and then it's going to move out of my last question which is that the twenty eighteen twenty nineteen time horizon what about the emerging second layer of it quite like lightning network so your thoughts i think that the lightning network and all the progress that's happening there is moving in faster than i expected i think they are going to focus on making it very user friendly to the point where it's still complicated to set up your own because
11:17 pm
a node but it should be as easy as da loading it up to have your own lightning no and using these lightning channels they should bring micro transactions the thing that people were expecting on the protocol itself but a lot of smart engineers basically looked at inside that's not really feasible does not how the system scale so i really am looking forward to all those lightning channels give us micro transactions and this should give you another layer of privacy i think there could be. a lots of good things that could be done as a second layer of fair coin to obscure those transactions to finally may pick one fungible and actually anonymous all right tom thanks so much for me on the cars report thank you already well that's going to do it for this edition of the kaiser report was made by skies or states or want to thank tone vanes legend if you want to catch us on twitter it's kaiser report so next time.

tonight development from the hague on the alleged chemical attack in syria's duma with russia are inviting local witnesses to give their stories they testify that the incident was staged they say. could never have all played out in the basement and then heard someone outside scream go to hospital we were scared. started to call water on me i don't know why they did this of on you and as professionals we saw that there were no symptoms suggesting chemical weapons had been used. elsewhere pressure is mounting on cattle from its regional rivals now there are claims a dubai based company commissioned a film linking the beleaguered gulf state to terrorism in order to justify sanctions. and not even a dollar facebook's technology chief stresses to british m.p.'s that moscow

spending on steering the brics a vote total of ninety seven cents. hi good morning this is art international broadcasting worldwide for m r t h q moscow kevin zero in here one am now first no symptoms of chemical poisoning that's how local doctors are describing the aftermath of the attack in the syrian city of duma on april the seventh witnesses explained how it all unfolded to the u.n. chemical watchdog alongside russia's representative to the group peter all of the details. well russia's main representative russia's permanent representative to the o.p.c. w. alexander surely again he was an equivocal in what he had to say he described the
11:22 pm
incident that took place in duma on the seventh of april as a solo police staged chemical attack saying that the blame lay with the likes of the united states france and the united kingdom for actually carrying out the staging of that now he was also backed up in those statements by the syrian representative to the o p c w and was then later followed by a series of different witnesses who were on the scene in that time no one of those and perhaps the most profound of those was eleven year old son the op he was one of those people who was prominently featured in in videos of the alleged chemical attack he described a very different scene in that. we were in the basement and then heard someone outside scream go to hospital we were scared they started to pour water on me i
11:23 pm
don't know why they did this. do you remember where it happened. right here. and there is it. here it is. that they poured water on me they put me here and then took me upstairs to my mother. and i that's mean the video that's mean. yes it was a long press conference it was a very detailed press conference they they also brought up to the stage a number of doctors who'd been on duty in the hospital at the time they went into
11:24 pm
times excruciating detail about what they saw what they didn't see on that day on the seventh of april in fact some doctors saying that although they trade people for this fix the ation for problems with breathing they didn't treat people with the symptoms that you would associate with a chemical poisoning. on the seventh of april i was in the emergency room treating patients injured during the fighting the same day around seven pm we started receiving patients with breathing problems about fifteen cases this happened because people were in hailing smoke and dust they only showed symptoms of choking and nothing more it all happened because one missile hit a building nearby and a lot of dust got into the hospital rooms people had injuries they had trouble breathing but we had patients like that arriving all the time and the screams chemical weapons chemical weapons were used to create panic this lasted for about
11:25 pm
an hour we were treating the patients and sending them home and we had a great talent sees all instances of people suffering from poisonous substances so certainly far more questions are being raised following this press conference that have been announced that earlier i spoke to the former you can bastard to syria peter ford and also middle east expert and a whack of they believe the actual evidence matters little to western governments. either ignored or attempts will be made. on the mind it in fact is it can already underway but i think when ordinary people. can really. abound. in fact anybody with half a brain could see the these are credible witnesses they refused to see this as evidence obviously pending what the. team is going to come up with from
11:26 pm
you it's highly unlikely that they would say first of all that there was a chemical attack while these three actors were quick to do what they did to bomb the place because they knew they didn't have a solid case they wanted to bomb with with disregard to whatever was happening over there so it shows actually that they knew that there was no chemical attack but they were willing to do whatever it takes us or there are forty or so they think and say we are still on the. other news this morning has been revealed that the dubai based company hired a top level p.r. executive to produce a film linking catarrh with terrorism a report from a viewer who persecute of journalism also claims propaganda material was created for the pentagon breaking all day and now we're. there's no propaganda quite like military propaganda psychological operations that these psyops serious stuff aside from mere unlimited money you also don't have to deal with all
11:27 pm
those annoying ethical restrictions i just assumed it was news gathering. having seen the process and worked in the process of them realize this is a big project so we would do the news items that would go out on the news and around various channels locally and we were to make it its best we could look. as if it was made locally belled porton ger specialized in military grade propaganda the british p.r. firm was active in iraq for years and soaring to the us commander there they did crazy stuff faked local news reports smeared iran put together al qaida propaganda videos planted them in people's homes and tracked who viewed them i was asked by my boss. we need to make this style of video. and we've got to use it is footage
11:28 pm
and all their propaganda to it and we're going to track it for google analytics good times last year bellport injure lost its license after it emerged that it likely stalked racial tensions in south africa as part of its work their thing with having morals is once you lose them it's difficult to pick them up again but i digress guess what bellport and just former boss is up to the biggest diplomatic crisis in the middle east since the first gulf war a growing diplomatic crisis of qatar seems to be in crisis as more middle eastern countries sever diplomatic ties with saudi arabia bahrain egypt and the u.a.e. have all cut diplomatic ties with cut up you know the whole cat's saudi arabia schism where the two u.s. allies almost came to blows here that was helped by charles and dreher the man who

11:31 pm
a history of funding terror at the very highest level saudi arabia took the lead in the isolation campaign kingdom's foreign minister is now warning the qatari government it could collapse if it doesn't support washington's military operations in the middle east could start should finance the u.s. military presence in syria and send its own military forces there before the u.s. president american protection for qatar if the u.s. is to withdraw its protection represented by its military base in qatar in the regime there will fall within less than a week the saudi foreign minister was referring to the presence of over eleven thousand u.s. troops encounter he made the remarks after donald trump called for money and ground support in syria from his wealthy allies in the middle east have a security analyst and former british army officer charles shoe bridge believes it's the saudis who should be concerned over their friendship with washington right now. it's using this issue as a stick to beat the tar of course qatar has used its considerable. attack
11:32 pm
for example in propaganda term saudi arabia both countries have been uncomfortable allies for some time certainly that by backing the syrian rebellion of course in this particular instance saudi arabia knows that qatar is not in a position to physically provide troops on the ground simply because its armed forces a small but of course they would like to see qatar's finances further trained it's interesting donald trump's remarks and self has said that without us in other words without the americans those countries would fall within hours or weeks or something like this and said this is a truce that is very rarely spoken publicly and they want to deflect attention onto one another. facebook sudden other grilling from lawmakers this time in the u.k. the social media giants been taken to task by m.p.'s over the platforms handling of people's private data and questioned over russian online activity around the time
11:33 pm
of the big brics a vote on this is the details russian brock's it could have been potentially a hot topic here in westminster this thursday however that did not go quite well as a grilling of a top facebook executive didn't seem to go and produce too much we did look several times to understand connections between. russia and the brits a referendum that you meant in two thousand and sixteen we found one dollar of spending so this is the extent of what we found which is you know almost nothing given to the ways i think it wouldn't if we had it happen to look good if it did have it it was done it this way. you know i can't prove a negative that was facebook's chief technology officer who to add insult to injury was sent by mark zuckerberg. to answer m.p.'s questions depart despite repeated pleas to have the facebook c.e.o.
11:34 pm
appear before this committee himself and we have to be clear that this is far from the first time when attempts to connect the dots between russia's use of social media and brags that have failed just previously we know that facebook said that they have found that russia had spent less than a dollar on any ads related to brackets and even when this committee traveled all the way to washington to get more answers that did not produce very much we looked at all advertisements with any connection to russia and we found no evidence of our services being used to interfere in that it referendum a very small number of suspects it's not research agency linked accounts forty nine such accounts were active during the campaign which represents must not point not five percent of the total number of accounts these are very low level things until we complete this investigation we won't know but what we haven't had this. information that's enabled us to target on a particular page or a particular phenomenon this is not international just ahead seems american

broadcasters uncovered a shocking revelation regarding this journal it says. these programs are produced by t. more about that after this break.
11:36 pm
join me every thursday on the alex salmond field and i'll be speaking to guests of the world of politics or business i'm sure business i'll see you there. again folks tune into us today so american broadcaster n.b.c. is joining the dots spectacularly and discover that artie's online series in case you missed it is in fact linked to r.t. and in expose a article the journalist say they looked at the registration data so carefully at the show's website and then it was a carefully cross check to the against the registration for r.t.
11:37 pm
well we could have saved all that trouble just checking our website there is r.t. dot com go right to the top was a banner that says shows click the world in case you missed it well in response to n.b.c. scoop in case you missed it couldn't resist taking view is behind the scenes to blow the lid off this connection to r.t. . so here we are first look offices although there is a slight smell in the vodka and caviar. we're in so it was probably a spy keep an eye on it. but first glance it looks like any other office but take a look below the surface and something starts to seem off we spoke to i see why in my eyes members of staff so tell me what's it like working for someone connected to r.t. . well i always loved the topless game show tutti frutti when i was at school. you

11:40 pm
natori is for being a cop killer and a member of the black liberation army will soon become a free man after spending nearly fifty years behind bars for shooting policeman dead now the new york parole board's decision even had the support of a son of one of the slain officers it seems that individuals with no knowledge of ms to bellow the circumstances that led me to support his release many years ago have taken it upon themselves to drum up hate and then gins the parole board of new york might have shown sympathy and a willingness to forgive but not the policeman's union the patrolmen's benevolent association they're guilty then and they're guilty now and no copula should ever walk the face of the year now siding with the police's n.y.c. mayor bill de blasio who called for the decision to be reversed and for bell to stay behind bars the parole board received over three hundred sixty seven thousand letters urging them not to free herman bell despite his record as
11:41 pm
a model prisoner well not quite there and not actually that many individual messages the associations website gave compliance the option of automatically sending a letter for each of the sixty two cop killers listed on the site that meant that fewer than six thousand objections to bell's release generated over three hundred sixty seven thousand messages completely distorting the level of the outcry in fact according to one poll eighty six percent of new yorkers support the parole board's decision we decided to talk with some former cops about the associations ethics i can't comprehend a man who openly admitted to killing three cops. i can't comprehend how that person would be allowed to walk the streets i could picture every cop out there being absolutely outraged the point of acting on their motion especially in today's climate where there should be used to do your government is trying their back on the police officers i can absolutely picture now one. they're not wanting six
11:42 pm
hundred thousand plus letters being sent in a probe ordered to eb requesting this man's parole be denied manipulation that's quite a you know i mean. it's very tragic and he actually took three people to put perot's what it is you know we have murders rape is awesome this people to be in paroled every single day and. if you kill a cop they want you to just write and jail is supposed to be for people now cops like to talk about the perilous situations they put themselves in and the public that they serve in order to do that but this incident will leave some in new york questioning their integrity. r.t. new york. i'm kevin owen as ever for me in the t.v. remote so what should hold for a couple of days cut you next week to get all of these. covered one twenty three in the morning in mosco this is only friday now a programs continue in your part of the world that what after this break.

retail side of the banking endeavor there is he going to help d.b. get out of their problems. i think we've seen this story over and over in the banking and we don't have to go too far we can just look at what happened with. the pretty much the same story happening or that i think the news the city is going to look at the entire cost structure and he's going to say i'm not getting much benefit in these so it's time for me to pull out of these markets and we're going to focus more on the call center remember he's a guy as you correctly mention is coming within the countries that he doesn't understand the company very well but mike and is that yes the talk is all the internal people but they also need the knowledge from someone external so we kind of a lag the last thing but in terms of a value play or invest i think there is a lot of value with the n.b.a. because there's still a strong company forget about the twenty five or the satellite all how long we are

its point of view particularly in an industry that is a as important as natural gas and be one that has changed as much as natural gas has in the last ten years so i applaud furred for at least their efforts at introspection yeah well you don't find that in government too often so i agree with you a good thing to look even if they don't change i think there probably are some changes needed nat gas as you say it's an important component of our energy portfolio about a little over a third now last i heard but what do you what do we export and what do we import in the way of natural gas well i think on a net basis we're a net exporter there are parts of the country as an example the u.s. northwest where it's still efficacious to import canadian gas the prior big u.s. import market was of course the u.s. northeast but the advent of production from the marcellus shale is meant that the
1:10 am
big has meant that the biggest importing region of the united states has in fact developed a gas surpluses it internally so on a net basis on a balance basis we are a gas exporter in addition to that increasingly we are using low priced natural gas to produce products at home things like basic chemicals that are produced from hydrocarbons natural gas and in addition to exporting raw gas and compressed natural gas we are beginning to export commodity commodity products that are made from our own domestic natural gas. rick can you give us just a brief summary of what's going on in markets today. sure with the cabbie out that there isn't one broad market the natural gas market is a global market made up of many small markets but in a broad sense there are
1:11 am
a couple things that are important the first is probably that the shale revolution on a global basis but mostly in the u.s. has meant that prior concerns about a scarcity of natural gas have disappeared so people are less afraid to use natural gas in industrial and power generating processes that's the most important thing that's happened second thing in dogwood keep. an i'm sorry keep going i'm sorry second thing yeah the second most important thing at least from my point of view has been that the increase in alternative energy technologies primarily wind and solar while it's attractive is intermittent and the ability to use natural gas to generate electricity during periods of time when the sun doesn't shine as an example or the wind doesn't blow is the only thing that makes those alternative energy technologies really appropriate to a broad based grid and the advent of. alternative
1:12 am
energy sources has really been made possible by natural gas the third is of course natural gas as a substitute for things like coal and thermal oil in a lower carbon environment but the truth is it would seem that industrial applications of gas have come into really perfect harmony with the new technologies that are increasing beat of the ill ability of it. rick we thank you so much for your time that's rick will of sprott us holdings we hope you'll come back. there's been a move back to rural america after a decade of population growth to urban areas particularly to sun belt states some long declining small towns and farming and manufacturing counties are heating up and adding people as population growth in large cities cools according to census estimates but where are the people in rural america living here discusses debbie
1:13 am
boyd a mortgage specialist and c.e.o. of deal b. financial services we thank you so much for joining us again your time with some steady improvements in world economies and rural counties gaining population for the first time since two thousand and some city folks are headed back to the country less populated areas given the recovering housing markets what will would be homebuyers find in rural america well they're going to find a much better product much more affordable housing why don't side the city limits there's also a lot of loan programs u.s.d.a. is a great big loan program that actually has one hundred percent financing that means the buyers don't have to put any money down if they meet certain requirements and the main requirement is to be in the county areas so it gives a rural population somewhere to go the inner cities are getting so expensive there we having a lot of the older neighborhoods it's just too expensive for first time homebuyers and like you say it's really the it's the it's the counties that are contingent to
1:14 am
those large area counties u.s.t.a. used to work work there and it's counties with populations below ten thousand and so it's those sort of collar counties right what are some of the hot spots are around the country. well you know there are so many especially and texas you know we have the equivalent of a seven forty seven landing in d.f.w. airport and everybody in that plane is moving to dallas every single day so that's a lot of people dallas city proper doesn't have room for that so it's the area's it's the sheilas bedford it's the las colinas area that used to be rural america that's now just like the city there is no difference there just a sign separating it it's all highways it's all new housing areas great vine area north of dallas is just the metroplex has blown up and so is houston so is austin a lot of people want to come to texas it's our environment down here you know so much expansion around the world in the u.s.

it's exciting to see all of the businesses and shopping growing and everything it's a pretty amazing how about markets housing markets in general debby we see interest rates going up the fed just increased rates we expect maybe two or three other rate increases this year are our home buyers saying they've got to buy now are they still waiting around. the only ones that are really raging around are the ones that are trying to get their qualifying in order they've got to lowered their debt pay off some credit cards you know people still carry a lot of debt on credit cards or student loans are killing a lot of our first time homebuyers so you know they're the ones that are waiting everybody wants to move now the problem is there's a shortage of homes that are in that early first time home buyer area and that doesn't give them a lot of choices that pushes them out of the suburbs but people want to buy now the best deals though are not now the best deals are going to be in the fall in the winter of next year what doesn't sell over the summer but then your interest rates
1:16 am
are going to be more so my suggestion is buy now find a home now get settled move in and get on with your life the rates are only going to go higher and as far as prices you talked about the fall being maybe a better time is that the case all across the country because of school or is it less so perhaps in areas where you are in the sun belt states. now i think it's everywhere so if you have school or age children you know school starts the beginning of september end of august all across the country and those people need to be settled so people that are taking job transfers they're going to be moving in the summer and they've got to get the kids ready to go to school you don't want to start the school year after it starts if you can help from it just easier on the family and the kids so i'll a lot of that movement but whatever doesn't sell in the summertime months are going to be sitting there on the market then september through next march when the market starts again so that's when you can get a lot of people people have to leave with their jobs and move to a new city some people are taking to house payments on it that part of the their

thank you for watching the news headlines here at r.t. international broadcasting live from moscow. local doctors in syria say they've seen no one with symptoms of chemical poisoning in the aftermath of the alleged attack in the town of duma on april the seventh witnesses explained how events unfolded to the un backed chemical watchdog alongside russia's representative peter oliver has the details. well russia's main representative russia's permanent representative to the o p c w alexander surely again he was an equivocal in what he had to say he described the incident that took place in duma

on the seventh of april a slot police staged a chemical attack saying that the blame lay with the likes of the united states france and the united kingdom for actually carrying out the staging of that now he was also backed up in the statement by the syrian representative to the o p c w and was then later followed by a series of different witnesses who were on the scene in dubai telling no one of those and perhaps the most profound of those was eleven year old son the op he was one of those people that was prominently featured in in videos of the alleged chemical attack he described a very different scene in that. we were in the basement and then heard someone outside scream go to hospital we were scared they started to pour water on me i don't know why they did this.

do you remember where it happened. right here. there is it. here it is. and then they poured water on me they put me here and then took me upstairs to my mother. and i that's mean the video that's mean. yes it was a long press conference it was a very detailed press conference they they also brought up to the stage a number of doctors who'd been on duty in the hospital at the time they went into

at times excruciating detail about what they saw and what they didn't see on that day on the seventh of april in fact some doctors saying that although they trade people for this fix the ation for problems with breathing they didn't treat people with the symptoms that you would associate with a chemical poisoning. on the seventh of april i was in the emergency room treating patients injured during the fighting the same day around seven pm we started receiving patients with breathing problems about fifteen cases this happened because people were in hailing smoke and dust they only showed symptoms of choking and nothing more it all happened because one missile hit a building nearby and a lot of does go into the hospital rooms people had injuries they had trouble breathing but we had patients like that arriving all the time and the screams chemical weapons chemical weapons we used to create panic this lasted for about an hour we were treating the patients and sending them home and we had no freights how

it sees or instances of people suffering from poisonous substances so certainly far more questions are being raised following this press conference that have been announced that. well r.t. heard from the u.k.'s former ambassador to syria peter ford and middle east expert . they believe the evidence matters little to western governments. either ignored or attempts will be made. on the mind it in fact if it came already on the way but i think when ordinary people. are going to be. bound impressed and in fact anybody with half a brain could see that these are credible witnesses they refused to see this as evidence obviously pending what the o.p.c. w team is going to come up with from it's highly unlikely that they would say first
1:26 am
of all that there was a chemical attack while these three actors were quick to do what they did to bomb the place because they knew they didn't have a solid case they wanted to bomb without with disregard to whatever was happening over there so it shows actually that they knew that there was no chemical attack but they were willing to do whatever it takes to assert their authority or so they think and say we're still on the table. it's been revealed a dubai based company hired a top pay our executives to produce a film linking qatar with terrorism a report from the bureau of investigative journalism also claims propaganda material was created for the pentagon there's more his artie's more than just the of. there's no propaganda quite like military propaganda psychological operations that these psyops serious stuff aside from near unlimited money you also don't have to deal with all those annoying ethical restrictions on

a truth that is very rarely spoken publicly and they want you don't deflect attention onto one another. facebook has had another grilling from lawmakers this time in the u.k. the social media giant has been taken to task by m.p.'s over the platform's handling of people's private data it was also questioned about russian online activity around the time of the brics it vote r.t.s. and associate churkin are reports. russian brock's it could have been potentially a hot topic here in westminster this thursday however that did not go quite well as a grilling of a top facebook executive didn't seem to go and produce too much we did look at it several times to understand connections between. russia and the brits a referendum that you meant to the two thousand and sixteen we found one dollar of spending so this is the extent of what we found which is you know almost nothing
1:33 am
given to the ways i think it was and that if we had it happen to look good if we did have it it was done in a different way that say you know i can't prove a negative that was facebook's chief technology officer who to add insult to injury was sent by mark zuckerberg to answer m.p.'s questions deployed despite repeated pleas to have the facebook c.e.o. appear before this committee himself and we have to be clear that this is far from the first time one attempts to connect the dots between russia's use of social media and bracks it failed just previously we know that facebook said that they have found that russia had spent less than a dollar on any ads related to bracks and even when this committee travelled all the way to washington to get more answers that did not produce very much we looked at all advertisements with any connection to russia and we found no evidence of our services being used to interfere in the referendum a very small number of suspects it's not research agency linked accounts forty nine

the two sions is real and the prejudices real exit but we need to care about america as well as an entire society and look after everyone if we don't do this we're going to have worse problems i have enormous difficulty accepting the idea that this young lady trying to run her starbucks in philadelphia spends time thinking about class and segregation and trying to target black people can't she's trying to run the restaurants and she's trying to do. in order and keep the business working and not let people take advantage of are you guys loitering and not purchasing products from the store while using their facilities how do you stop that from happening again but i don't think that's a little girl running the starbucks as best she can reluctantly calling the police to sign saying saying loitering again is thinking about using loitering laws against black people yes there are people that have
