argentina make it to the last sixteen of the world comp with elaine twenty or against a ninety year. gratian topped the group dumping iceland out of the competition. a goalless draw between denmark and france and moscow suns to both sides through to the no child stage.
1:21 am
coming to you live from the russian capital you're watching our team for national welcome to the program. day thirteen of the fifo world cup so argentina and creation progressing from group d. the south americans will need france and the next round show will face denmark we've got all the hype blights from our studio in central moscow with artie's aaron and daniel hawkins. it's been such a roller coaster end of the games in group do you today we can also be officially crozier will be joined. in the first round of those games of the early action as well in group c. of course and what a night it has been for us in cosy decrease of work celebration but more
1:22 am
importantly relief on the faces of the team. gave us that what is really absolutely i mean we were kaluta to both games where we were the argentina nigeria game i really had this transfixed i didn't even allows nigeria back into the game with a penalty in the second half and left it late to secure their place in the last sixteen of the south americans will join croatia also got a late winner and ninetieth minute goal. got that goal of a two one victory over on stand heartbreak for those fires that were going on to the last hope until the dying minutes side like so many goals was told when it came about the five minutes all the extra time so remember the spain game with the ball to go wrong seems a bit of a partner who is not keeping files there is this seems to the very last minute that means heading home sadly it's also the last we'll hear of the now famous viking club.
1:23 am
miss that let's talk about that first half of the argentina nigeria game show is started off argentina started on veggie a lot of expectations a lot of pressure on them especially on leno messi who has really underperformed in the first two games of the tournament but soon enough light leo messi scored that goal and really shown the type of stuff that he's made of he is a world class player and that fourteenth minute he really proved that when he kicked that goal. into the back of the net on his right foot actually which is apparently his week of me has one fantastic event because for me when i go right from deep in the ocean in the hoff right into the box little message takes it past the fenders and those shots for the young goalkeeper the sheer look of relief on my cease fire is quite a contrast. but similar to seems to be prying into lation too to the skies second time was no less dramatic nigeria schooled on fifty one
1:24 am
minutes a foul by musher on a yellow card could have been a red tackle. just outside the box subsequently there was a penalty for as well bosh want to get a yellow card for talking down inside the box and that was a draw until the dying moments of the game of course ninetieth minute window from marco roll for an assist from the front. caught a very confidently taken right into the box was mocked slotting roy into the back of the net argentina managed to hold on to spoilage a team of zero throwing everything they can on the camera actually came off the road on a just pops a few moments before he made some interesting gestures let's say until he does here and finds. for you always been a character or is a very little asian to train the camera on him throughout the game to you and to
1:25 am
see what he's doing interesting. to passion a game for both teams and i mean you know the emotions really were at star in the faces of all of those fans in the stands especially the argentinian fans when that second goal went into the back of the net tears we still more than one in tears so emotional those tactical changes seem to work didn't they the the manager as we said there was a lot of speculation about disunity in the changing room some sort of conflict the players taking control choosing their own team a muscle role. disputed he said that's a load of media speculation load of rubbish the team is playing together they're sticking united it seems out to argentina finally showed today they much that expectation placed on them expansion placed on messi as we said earlier they could this was really charles' frozen team is to make a comeback from being the finalists back in brazil missing out messi swansong see him next world cup that has now been. included. along

through to divide of sixteen with croatia for away show breaking icelandic hearts their fantastic ninetieth minute goal by paris which for get to see it very soon your screens collected a very well executed poss put one on one with the goalkeeper took the opportunity like a pro shot straight to the middle of the goal past the keeper you have it defended very bravely. selves created quite a few shots actually buys them to go. without penalty record number of penalties by the way scored in this total of perhaps the v.a.r. the video assistant. correlation causation disputable lead but that remains a fact that has been a record number of penalties in the early stages of this tournament compared to the others a lot of calls for the make you saw there are a lot of pressure wasn't absolutely i ones you know that the f.o.
1:27 am
ways gets a bad rap no matter what happens but this whole v.i.i. they are introduction has just changed everything isn't it there's more anger directed towards the rest you know how does he make a decision is it by himself now is he depending on the a.o. it is a total game changer ninetieth minute winner again and parachute put in one on one with the goalkeeper he. leaving alderson actually the keeper just speak about the boston team which and of course i mean a lot of these players not exactly alex's. they have day jobs through the manager of self selves a dentist how did set up believe as a full director he actually or maybe this is a rumor could be a bit of yellow press here but i believe he was actually one hundred kilograms at one point i mean lost the way they got called up to the national team this. time off about that given time off to go play for a national team for those games confer who are going through from great day interrupt their final round of think they know of course we can head over to the

plate of bag well the action is happening in the army is there for as and of course we've got our correspondent andrew fowler in rostov on don he's been covering the iceland croatia clash will be going to them so italy. thanks. guys iceland's first ever world cup has come to an end here stuff but they didn't have put up a good fight you've gone through all the details for me. when croatia got the opening goal i have to say when i was sat in that arena i thought that was curtains really because tracy always looked in control for me for most of this match up until that point but when news came out that nigeria had a equalized against argentina to make it one one a huge rule went around the roster of arena then it was a big viking clap as we now call it and the players responded i have to say iceland pushed on and they got their just rewards with that penalty after seventy five minutes and. judy obliged to convert to make it one one and then there was
1:29 am
a frantic seventy five minutes that followed until at the end and even got that winner to make it two one for my money croatia are always the better team three wins from three i think they probably will go far in this tournament given the fact that they've arrested so many players deceiving too but as a football fan i am sad today because it means that iceland are going home the reason i'm sad as you've alluded to there a country what with a population of three hundred thousand and yet they still managed to hold argentina to a one one draw in the game and put the cat among the pigeons which i loved as a football fan and then you've gone through a list of plays you have second the jobs. so the goalkeeper is a film director apparently he directed to video for iceland's you're a vision song contest entry i have a man that packs so to reykjavik and also their manager used to be a dentist before he got his teeth into football would excuse the pun these are only stories you have here in the f.a. cup back in england you never hear them others will cup until now there's a full fan i am sad that i seem to get in time to croatia he would be winners
1:30 am
tonight and i think you have to keep an eye on him like to take. oh oh oh oh oh oh oh bush should be ashamed standing near our house where our all over the. steering by city and fans out there breathing if you saw him when he thought we've seen us and sure enough when the boston pops just just out there beyond the field right square i was that was that i've been like. yeah these argentinian files really coming out with relief more than anything got to the movies is. the big bad buying music just to my right as well so that's on the top of the atmosphere for these sponsors going on very happy this evening that game of both the first off
1:31 am
getting off the explosive start a little messy getting his first goal of the tournament with a great strike across the keep and that got things on the way and the noise in the petersburg stadium overwhelming the authenticity and supporters in that ground to see that they ready for the lid off the stadium and at that point they were very comfortable in the game come to half time just off the off time nigeria what a penalty that was slaughter the whole comfortably by victor moses and really for the rest of the second. in all nigeria looks very comfortable they actually could have made it she was on a couple of occasions and if you were discussing before there was a. very controversial video decision which wasn't given told by jury and then it was just four minutes till the end loftus road popping up with the body finished any strike would really be proud of a full city is
1:32 am
a sense of hof and so that spot huge sea of celebration amongst our agency fans not just here in the stadium but across the world. argentina can look forward to playing france in the next round and that's sure to be one of the real big ties not just of the next round but also of the told him and so far in those he's been saying this tournament where deep into the thoughts a nice guy and only one goal in the stroller so there's been lots of drama so far lots of goals we're expecting to continue calling for with. let's have a look back at all the action from earlier on tuesday from group c. france and denmark are through to the last sixteen france when unbeaten with seven
1:33 am
points and danmark chalked up a win and to draw a spare room case there found something to cheer about with the two nil when over a straddling both countries will be heading home for the highlights that came. france and denmark recorded the first goal last match of the twenty eighteen world cup friends top the group and one point was enough to see denmark through to the next round are these alexander was at the game and caught up with the denmark keeper kasper schmeichel. probably the happiest man to be on that
1:34 am
pitch that's obviously. son of one and only peter schmeichel actually asked him for the game twenty years ago in one thousand nine hundred eight when the situation in the group was exactly the same at the one thousand nine hundred. games but he said that he didn't even pay attention to that game because he was focusing on the job at hand which was to secure a qualification not to lose to one of the strongest sides in the tournament one of the favorites to lift the french national side so i also asked him about the video assistant referee system which was introduced in this world cup and in fact schmeichel has already been on the receiving end of two cases of interference in the previous two games so this was the first game that you have played in this tournament without any kind of foreign interference does that make you feel better
1:35 am
. oh i think i probably should have been suvorin variances from my own like we should have but. where do you stand on the do you think it's time to. write a final one so you probably playing creation the next round. very potent forward line what do you think is some scary or calm collected. well let's see if it is. very likely to be today we just enjoy this result we enjoy the next round and then some more we start focusing on the quite interesting there on the one hand he feels that there should have been two penalties on the other hand he says he's not a fan pretty much just like his father peter schmeichel. a quick look now at how the first round is shaping out. on saturday.

welcome back to the program our team is middle east correspondent paula sleepier has been denied entry to ukraine she was stopped at the border while hiding to a human rights conference on media freedom here's what she told us shortly after arriving in in badly. flights here from kiev four were pretty uneventful this of course is after spending around eight hours today in the departure lounge at the airport in kiev i arrived there in the early morning and initially my passport was flagged at customs they then took me to a side room where they kept me for around an hour and a half without giving me any kind of explanation eventually when i asked what was happening they called me and they sat me down and they said that i had been found to not be allowed to enter the country they wouldn't give any kind of reason they said it was an order that came from above and they are me to sign something that confirmed that i understood that i was not being allowed into the country that i was being banned for the next five years and as i say no explanation given after
1:39 am
that i was taken to the departure lounge to be honest the treatment by the border police was ok there wasn't any kind of harassment or talking to me badly in any way and they left me to my own devices a few hours later they came with my passport and then i was allowed to board the plane i was attending a conference in kiev that is organized by the organization for security and cooperation in europe the o.e.c.d. and it's a conference that was devoted to media and media freedom in ukraine and that's the irony of the whole situation is that i was meant to participate in the conference to talk about all the the problems we as journalists face particularly in conflict zones and the very authoritative we're holding that conference refused me entry so it says a lot about the way the ukrainian authorities view press freedom not allowing journalists to attend a conference on press freedom the last time i was in kiev was back in two thousand and fifteen at that time i was reporting on fires that have broken our channel and
1:40 am
i started receiving death threats on my twitter feed and an online witch hunt was instigated against me in the decision was taken for me to to leave as soon as possible. all of this is particularly concerning because of course it sheds light on the very real situation in terms of press freedom media karate that is happening right now in kenya if they was a response from the o.e.c.d. they said that they were gracious what had happened but of course saying one thing and having a conference on media freedom while you have myself and another russian journalist who was also prevented from entering the country while we were in the terminal and this conference was happening what would seem to mean very little actions of course will speak louder as she was not given any explanation as to why she was denied entry however under ukrainian law foreigners must be given a reason if they're refused access well we have asked the ukrainian foreign

ministry to clarify the situation and we're waiting for a response but we did get a response from the british foreign office commenting on the case of paulus lear who has a british passport they said that it was not something they could help with they suggested speaking to the u.k. embassy in ukraine already has also asked for us freedom organizations to comment on the case with policy or the international federation of journalists that key of actions completely contradict democracy while human rights watch says any dissatisfaction with the work of journalists does not justify burying them from doing it. and of course the incident was mentioned at the media freedom conference that paula was heading to however the panel changed the subject when it was mentioned don't you think that ukraine should step away from the policy that would condemn and russia i'm think full to the speaker for condemning the decision of the ukrainian authorities not to allow russian journalist of guinea permaculture and

the global chemical weapons watchdog be voting on wednesday on a controversial proposal from the u.k. foreign secretary boris johnson. should have the power to assign blame when chemical attacks takes take place at present the p.c. experts will say. well when an attack happened. who was responsible. if we are serious about uploading the chemical weapons that must be filled. the u.k. back to motion looks likely to pass with more than they require a huge number of states expressing their support and could have dramatic implications for the war in syria where the old p.c. w has so far limited its findings to scientific conclusions russia is against the initiative saying it would turn the o.p.c. w. from an objective research body into
1:45 am
a political organisation and investigative journalist at ricks sterling says that western powers are merely looking for a pretax to target the syrian government as much as the o.p.c. w. needs to be respected and supported i think we have to we have to be very careful and there's got to be really it guarantees of objectivity an independent so it's not a political tool by by one one state or one group of states it's mandate is really to implement the chemical weapons convention but in the last several years we've seen a situation in syria where the efforts of countries to overthrow to topple the damascus government have used. claims accusations of chemical weapons usage and the o.p.c. w has been part of that if you look at their reports they rely very heavily on witnesses who are provided to them by the opposition they don't pursue evidence
1:46 am
which contradicts the western claims so it's very valid to question the objectivity and independence of the o.p.c. w. that said from our team for now we'll be back with more in about thirty minutes time. oh. you take the decency not in all the things you've done a lot of the like her. mother love the old joke. that you can't they think they did it to get each person must at least look.

of money strong danielle de martino both the author of fed up danielle thank you as always for being with us let's start with the e.u. actually you were just talking about them a moment ago and how are they doing it how is the e.c.b. the european central bank doing recently. well i think the european central bank appears to be having a deer in the headlights moment we had expected i think a little bit tougher talk out of the european central bank when it last met but instead we were told that it might not be until the end of next summer that we see the first rate hike come out of the e.c.b. there was an official on the wires in the last twenty four hours who actually through october two thousand and nineteen out there bart my greatest concern for the e.c.b. i've been writing about this recently is that they actually go into recession with interest rates still in negative territory that would put policymakers there and of in a very tough position in a very tight bind you know what do you do when you are already less than zero i

mean where would you go you go back to i mean they don't think they call it quantitive easing but you go back to bond buying again danielle i mean horrible church from since we don't want to go there but is that the only real avenue. well you know they have been actually talking lately about some other alternatives to their bond buying program which they're trying to taper back they're hoping to complete that process by the end of the year and one of the reasons that they're compelled to get out of the business of q.e. in europe is because they're running out of things to buy art so they're running up against the natural limitations of what the market actually has on supply and that's why they ended up turning to us based corporate bonds for example because there was simply not enough of a supply of high quality securities to be able to put on their balance sheet earlier this year there was a very splashy default where a bond sitting on the balance sheet was downgraded to junk and is on the verge of

going out of business so tricky times with the e.c.b. running out of options and this is particularly at a time when we see germany in even the u.k. not going gangbusters with the economy so what to keep an eye on it as you say you know it wasn't maybe ten days two weeks ago danielle we spoke about this said you're going to end the bond buying and they're going to maybe look at starting to increase interest rates next year and now they've sort of said wait a minute they're like the g.p.s. right there recalibrating so we'll keep an eye on it reprise shit you helping us with that let's move back to the u.s. and here in the states with all the rising trade rhetoric with china and other nations in the trumpet ministrations there's been some pretty ominous projections and predictions not yours i just raise them because they're out there but recently the bond yield yield curve the difference between the short and longer term bonds has been touted as a potential problem and you know this may be one of these inside you know the
1:55 am
financial system thing explain to all the boom busters what the yield curve is why it matters and why some people look at it as a potential indicator of recession. well if your joke you bank you theoretically are going to charge somebody a higher interest rate bart if they're going to be borrowing out for longer because of your joke you bank you're taking on their credit risk for a longer period of time now if you're just making them alone for thirty days then you're not going to charge of nearly as much and that is what we call a normal yield curve where the short rates are lower reflecting that the risk is going to be taken on for a shorter period of time versus the longer you go on the curve in the case of michael sam in the u.s. treasury market that's the thirty year long bond you know economists start to get very nervous when they see short rates moving above long rates that's actually called a yield curve inverting right now the difference between the two year treasury and
1:56 am
the ten year treasury is that thirty five basis points it's at the lowest level since two thousand and seven it is at a cycle low and it is flashing that there is concern growing at least view through the prism of the bond market that the u.s. is at risk of sliding into a recession even as the federal reserve as was reiterated by jay powell just last week in portugal that the federal reserve intends to raise interest rates four more times before all is said and done to get from two percent to three percent the implication for the yield curve is that it would indeed invert based on federal reserve actions to come that's very interesting thank you for explaining it are you personally concerned right now or are you think it's going to be ok. well look today we saw some consumer confidence numbers come out and it's very distressing to me when households report that their expectations for income growth
1:57 am
are falling and yet that's what we were starting to see come out of the household sector we know that in certain pockets of the labor market that you can name your price as an employee and that that is having a detrimental effect on employers and their profits and my concern is again if hell soldier starting to see that there are fewer job opportunities out there and or that they have less in terms of power to ask for that price raise then we'll start to see a ratcheting back in consumption and that means that the communication the message that's coming out of the yield curve could very well be spot on yield curves never live part never forget that yield curves they never lie we will remember that we will take that with us and we appreciate you explaining it to us you're such an expert on this stuff and we're better for it danielle de martino boothby author of fed up thanks for your time danielle. a massive phone

recall is underway in france cell phones after it was revealed that most cell phones exceed government radiation limits what does that mean for cell phone users here in the u.s. are to scurry one it didn't cohen takes a look in part two of his continuing series. for nearly three years the french government withheld the results of tests showing that most phones exceed the manufacturer's reported radiation test levels when they're held in contact with the body in the pocket in a shirt or in a brazil or manufactures are not required to test cell phones against the body virtually everyone uses them they're tested at various distances some almost an inch away while that doesn't sound like much of a difference each millimeter significantly decreases the body's absorption of radiation so a tiny distance can be critical when a court filing and public pressure compel the french government to reveal its conclusions the public learned that some phones emit triple the amount of radiation

2:06 am
and we have spent a little bit of time talking about european central banks and other economic issues with danielle do you. hard to know booth now we're taking a look at them again however we're not going to be talking rates or the yield curve in her latest book collusion how central bankers rigged the world nomi prins says that central banks have colluded not to help create growth but to simply create global artificial money and subsidies as they see fit joining us now is the author nomi prins nomi thank you so much for being with us a real pleasure to have you thank you so much ok so now you're a former banker right so you're not just you're writing from the outside you worked at goldman sachs you know this stuff so in your book you weave a pretty interesting tale of monetary policy poor decisions and what you call quote gross negligence of their regulatory responsibilities contain to contain bank risk
2:07 am
and fraud take us through this how did this all come about and what were the central bankers what was their ultimate goal here. well this goes back decades really but in the last decade since the financial crisis we had a situation where the major central banks in the world particular federal reserve were completely asleep at their job of being the regulatory body that is supposed to ensure the stability of financial system that is to say to secure some semblance of lack of crime of lack of broad of normalcy from the perspective of the rules that govern the types of things that banks can and cannot do and in the run up to the financial crisis of two thousand and eight as we found out the biggest banks in particular in the united states were manufacturing trillions of dollars of will now call them toxic assets would basically scooping up subprime loans and rejiggering
2:08 am
them into many many multiples more of toxic assets they then sold out the to the world and lent to investors and other financial institutions and cities and countries and so forth to buy more of for their own arsenals and as a result this massive amount of leverage of faulty of fraudulent assets proliferated the world when that all came to light and fell apart the banks got scared they came to the federal reserve and different governments throughout the world and said look if you do not subsidize us if you do not sustain us we're all going to basically close the former treasury secretary at the time hank paulson who had been the c.e.o. and chairman of goldman sachs when i was there and then moved on to the position of head treasury secretary under george bush at the time was on his knees in front of congress woman and speaker of the house nancy pelosi saying if you don't congress help the banks they will cease to give money to people so there's lots of fear all around in the result of which was the federal reserve turning around and saying ok we're going to bring rates to zero that will render the availability and the level
2:09 am
of payment of money to banks the federal reserve's rate at zero so they will be able to receive through access to us whatever they need to. sustain themselves throughout this emergency period we now know that emergency has gone on for a decade when i say collusion in this book what's happened over that decade as well is that it wasn't enough for the federal reserve to manufacture four and a half trillion dollars of money to buy assets and government securities from these banks in order to liquefy them but they required other g seven central banks around the world the european central bank the bank of japan the bank of england to basically create a whole subsidy for the entire financial system or the most elite banks of that system in order to be able to first sustain the u.s. banks and then sustain their partner banks banks are codependent like torture bank and so forth that's the system that we have now artificial subsidies of the financial institutions at the core of the financial crisis by the central banks
2:10 am
colluded upon by the central banks that have distorted or manipulated markets and savings rates for people throughout the world so you gave a lot there but i want to dig into it and thank you for your patience with some of these questions so it was one the quantitative easing essentially zero interest rates but you alluded to it but just to be clear for our viewers this is after the seven hundred billion dollar bailout so that they were they were backed up so they made these irresponsible bets in part on these things that used to deal with the goldman sachs these c.v.s. is these credit default swaps based upon home mortgages that were some were good some were bad they mixed them up they spread them around and one of the problems that the financial crisis inquiry commission noted was that the valuation of those c.d.'s is was in the eye of the ball holders so nobody trades with bart and you put what is good for your books and i put what's good for my book and is that really
2:11 am
when you say that it was propped up not after the crisis but before the crisis is that part and parcel to the problem normally. well it was because credit derivatives the credit default swaps studios collateralized debt obligations which had credit default swaps attached and these are all bets on the ability of whatever's being better upon to repay their debt to repay interest along the way to repaying debt that's what a credit default swap is and so the idea of what they're valued at really depends upon what market participants are willing to pay if someone believes the market participant or a bank believes that there is credit worthiness behalf of something underlying a credit default swap and that that company will repay that mortgage will repay honor their debt honor their interest payments then then that is one thing that has a higher value if they believe that there's more risk in that repayment coming that
2:12 am
value is lower and what happened going into the financial crisis with all of these instruments floating around is that these values were largely floating around as well so one bank could say all right will my credit default swap my credit risk is mitigated because for example i have an insurance company backing my credit risk which was one of the other players in this whole saga some can say it's not and so forth so when i wrote actually after i left goldman sachs my first book other people's money the corporate mugging of america i specifically said that it would be credit default swaps it would be c.e.o.'s because they are so hard to price because the fluctuations of value are so great depending on as you mention the eye of the beholder that these can cause without proper regulation a massive ripple in a massive destabilization in a crisis in the financial system which is ultimately what happened you know me we're out of time but i love to have you back to talk about whether or not given
2:13 am
what's going on with the volcker rule and other deregulatory things whether or not we are edging closer and closer to a place similar to we were where we were in two thousand and seven two thousand and eight but we're out of time now normally prince the author of collusion how central banks rid the world bank normally for your time. give. united parcel service u.p.s. is about a century old and since it's at such inception its delivery methods as crazy as it may seem haven't changed all that much for more on the development or lack thereof here's our two correspondent trinity chose one online shopping is becoming increasingly popular it's a constant challenge for package delivery carriers to keep up with the demand but while some package delivery services are thriving like that axe others like u.p.s. are struggling to keep up and it's costing the company billions of dollars. and while u.k.'s is trying to satisfy america's twenty first century shopping mania

of course and what a night it has been for sukkos a decrease of work celebration but more importantly relief on the faces of the. fires has been a drought it gave us that for what it really i mean we were glued to two both games where we were the argentina nigeria game i really had this transfixed i didn't tina allows nigeria back into the game with a penalty in the second half and left it late to secure their place in the last sixteen of the south americans will join croatia was a little late winner and ninetieth minute goal. got that goal in a two one victory over on stand heartbreak for those fires that were going on to the last hope until the dying minutes i'd like so many goals is torn when it came about the five minutes all the extra time so remember the spain game with a raucous that i thought to go wrong seems a bit of a partner who is not keeping files there is this seems to live on the last minute that means heading home it's also the last we'll hear of the now famous viking club

. let's talk about that first half of the argentina nigeria game show is started off argentina started of energy a lot of expectations a lot of pressure on the missed specially on leno messi who has really underperformed in the first two games of the tournament but soon enough light leo messi scored that goal and really shown the type of stuff that he's made of he is a world class player and the fourteenth minute he really proved that when he kicked that goal into the back of the net on his right foot actually which is apparently his week of me has one fantastic event because for me to win a go right from deep in the ocean in the hope of roy into the books a little messy takes it past the fenders those shots for the young goalkeeper the sheer look of relief on my says face quite a contrast. it's. seems to be prying into elation

to to the skies second time was no less dramatic nigeria school on fifty one minutes a foul by musher on a yellow card could have been a red. just outside the box subsequently there was a penalty for knowledge as well bosh want to get a yellow card for talking down inside the box and that was a draw until the dying moments of the game of course ninetieth minute from marco to roll for an assist from the front. caught a very confidently taken right into the box was unmarked slotting roy into the back of the net argentina managed to hold on to spoilage a team of zero throwing everything they can on the camera actually came off borrowed just pops a few moments before he made some interesting gestures let's say until he does here

are going through from great day interrupt their final round of sixteen of course we can head over to the paid back where all the action is happening in the army is there for as and of course we've got our correspondent andrew fowler in rostov on don he's been covering the iceland croatia clash will be going to them so italy. thanks. guys iceland's first ever world cup has come to an end here stuff but they didn't have put up a good fight you've gone through all the details for me. when croatia got the opening goal i have to say when i was sat in that arena i thought that was curtains really because tracy always looked in control for me for most of this match up until that point but when news came out that nigeria had a equalized against argentina to make it one one a huge rule went around the roster of arena then it was a big viking clap as we now call it and the players responded i have to say iceland pushed on and they got their just rewards with that penalty after seventy five

minutes and. julie obliged to convert to make it one one and then there was a frantic seventy five minutes that followed until at the end and even got that a winner to make it two one for my money croatia are always the better team three wins and three i think they probably will go far in this tournament given the fact that they've arrested so many players deceiving too but as a football fan i am sad today because it means that i slowly going home the reason i'm sad as you've alluded to there a country what with a population of three hundred thousand and yet they still managed to hold argentina to a one one draw in the game and put the cat among the pigeons which i loved as a football fan and then you've gone through a list of players you have second the jobs to to the goalkeeper is a film director apparently he directed to video for iceland's you revision song contest entry they have a man there that pak sultan reykjavik and also their manager used to be a dentist before you could take him to football good excuse the pun these are only stories you ever hear in the f.a. cup back in england you never hear them. it will keep until now to the full find

game and caught up with the denmark keeper kasper schmeichel. probably the happiest man to be on that pitch that's obviously. of one and only peter schmeichel actually asked him whether the game twenty years ago in one thousand nine hundred eighty one the situation in the group was exactly the same at the one thousand nine hundred. games but he said that he didn't even pay attention to that game because he was focusing on the job at hand which was to secure a qualification not to lose to one of the strongest sides in the tournament one of the favorites to lift the french national side so i also asked him about the video assistant referee system which was introduced in this world cup and in fact schmeichel has already been on the receiving end of two cases of interference in the previous two games so this was the first game that you have played in the store

on july fifteenth. well we are on to other news already as middle east correspondent paula slee has been denied entry to ukraine she was stopped at the border well having to a human rights conference on media freedom here is what she told us shortly after arriving in berlin the flights here from kiev for were pretty uneventful this of course is after spending around eight hours today in the departure lounge at the airport in kiev i arrived there in the early morning and initially my passport was flagged at customs they then took me to a side room where they kept me for around an hour and a half without giving me any kind of explanation eventually when i asked what was
2:39 am
happening they called me and they sat me down and they said that i had been found to not be allowed to enter the country they wouldn't give any kind of reason they said it was an order that came from above and they are me to sign something that confirmed that i understood that i was not being allowed into the country that i was being banned for the next five years and as i say no explanation given after that i was taken to the departure lounge to be honest the treatment by the border police was ok there wasn't any kind of harassment or talking to me badly in any way and they left me to my own devices a few hours later they came with my passport and then i was allowed to board the plane now i was attending a conference in kiev that is organized by the organization for security and cooperation in europe the only see and it's a conference that was devoted to media pirelli t.v. and media freedom in ukraine and that's the irony of the whole situation is that i was meant to participate in the conference to talk about all the the problems we as
2:40 am
journalists face particularly in conflict zones and the very authoritative we're holding that conference refused me entry so it says a lot. about the way the ukrainian authorities view press freedom not allowing journalists to attend a conference on press freedom the last time i was in kiev was back in two thousand and fifteen at that time i was reporting on fires that have broken our channel and i started receiving death threats on my twitter feed and an online witch hunt was instigated against me in the decision was taken for me to to leave as soon as possible all of this is particularly concerning because of course it sheds light on a very real situation in terms of press freedom media chorale a-t. that is happening right now in kiev they was a response from the o.e.c.d. they said that they were greeted what had happened but of course saying one thing and having a conference on media freedom while you have myself and another russian journalist who was also prevented from entering the country while we were in the terminal and
2:41 am
this conference was happening where words seemed to mean very little actions of course will speak louder and she was not given any explanation as to why she was denied entry however under ukrainian law foreigners must be given a reason if they are refused access well we have asked the ukrainian foreign ministry to clarify the situation and we're waiting for a response but would did get a response from the british foreign office commenting on the case of paula slim british passport they said that it was not something they could help with and they suggested speaking to the u.k. embassy in ukraine. has also asked press freedom again is ations to comment on the case with policy the international federation of journalists that kiev's actions completely contradict democracy while human rights watch said that any dissatisfaction with the work of georgia list does not justify burying them from
2:42 am
doing it. and of course the incident was mentioned at the media freedom conference that apollo was having to offer that panel change the subject when it was mentioned don't you think that ukraine should step away from the policy that would condemn and russia i'm think full to the speaker for condemning the decision of the ukrainian authorities not to allow russian journalist of guinea permaculture and r.t. correspondent paula to come to crane for you by preventing them from participating in this conference thank you. question more for the audience not necessarily for the expert panel here so i'm sure that will be discussed during the break i have one with one last question or we call you. know ok listen thank you very much to all my panelists and we spoke to the man who asked the unanswered question the russian foreign ministry representative maxine back it appears to be alone pretty
2:43 am
well in the ministry of foreign affairs of the time when we reach a promptly. another fact of where lucian of the rights of question means in ukraine . be rid of this or for international audience to relive and angels to react as well. leave some room for amelioration i would say but. we can see now the more and more this reaction gets a more accurate and. r.t. spoke with human rights a barrister ger a free robertson and he believes the ukrainian decision undermines the whole purpose of the o s c e conference later in the day we'll be showing that interview in a full in going underground here on our eighty. whole point of the conference is to avoid such situations to enable. western position to be looked at more objective pretty much not help.
2:44 am
prevent them from entering into the discussion this decision has to make. is. kind of democracy which is important for the coverage of the situation in ukraine. and the global chemical weapons watchdog will be voting on ones a controversial proposal from the u.k. foreign secretary boris johnson says that o.p.c. w. should have the power to assign blame when chemical attacks take place at present you. say well. happened but. who was responsible if we are serious about upholding the weapons that must be. under current rules
2:45 am
the old p.c. only has to the power to determine whether a chemical weapons attack has taken place and which agents were used in contrast to the former a body called the joint investigative makan is which operated in syria until last november russia is against the u.k. initiative to change the rules saying that it would turn the body on to a political organization. investigative journalist says western powers summarily looking for a pretext to target the syrian government. as much as the o.p.c. w. needs to be respected and supported i think we have to we have to be very careful and there's got to be really it guarantees of objectivity and independent so it's not a political tool by by one one state or one group of states mandate is really to implement the chemical weapons convention but in the last several years we've seen
2:46 am
a situation in syria where the efforts of countries to overthrow to topple the damascus government have used. claims accusations of chemical weapons usage and the o.p.c. w has been part of that if you look at their reports they rely very heavily on witnesses who are provided to them by the opposition they don't pursue evidence which contradicts the western claims so it's very valid to question the objectivity and independence of the o.p.c. w. . present trump has lashed out at the modest cycle maker harley davidson over its plans to shift production away from the us to harley davidson is using that as an excuse and i don't like that because i've been very good to our early davidson and they used that as an excuse and i think the people that write orleans are not happy with harley davidson and i wouldn't be either but mostly companies

are coming back to our country partly davidson plans to move some of its manufacturing to us to avoid paying the newly imposed tariffs when exporting to the continent they not are buying kompany says that the move will save nearly one hundred million dollars per year and taxus well the e.u. recently slapped important charges on american goods including martin water bikes and retaliation to trounce terrorists steal an alum many of whom trump claimed at the levis were needed to print tackiness manufacturing from unfair competition but economist jeffrey albert tucker told american firms have nothing to gain from trade wars. it's as a consequence trumps trade war and it's a classic case of how these government actions tend to have the opposite effect
2:48 am
trump wants to make america great again what he's actually doing is causing more financial pressure for american firms that rely on imported raw goods and for american producers who rely on markets abroad to buy their products so this is very bad american companies will move aspects of their businesses abroad if it's a life or death issue the purpose of business is to serve the cause of business and and to to stay profitable and to serve their stockholders the purpose of business is not to make donald trump happy. presence of a paris suburb says that say that the drug problem there has pyro out of control and they accuse the government of doing nothing about it challenge to the ski has the details. i'm on the road that skirts around port palin in the paris that you can see the slum that's emerged here is brimming with

situation imported election apparel is catastrophic euphorically the place turned into a slum full of crack addicts it is ignore way the community on the hill there are five hundred people who are doing crazy things and annoying the locals very aggressively steal we have all sorts of things going on here about five years ago there were around a dozen of them we knew were but today it's five hundred the state is completely abandoned everyone stuck in traffic we see some men demanding money from drivers they claim it's for food but local say the money goes on drugs and despite a continuous police presence nothing seems to change some officials and they're claiming this is the crack capital of france the scale of the problem is such the poor the chapelle is the biggest selling point and consumers of crack in france there are no demands for an emergency plan to be instigated to combat the problem
2:51 am

women at the games as well but what's been interesting is i actually had a run as well so for many years there's been a ban on iranian women entering the site but not volleyball no other sports it's just a particular issue with football the reason given is that the fines that are on a quiet rowdy and boisterous so many years that's been one of the authorities reasons for not letting ladies into the stadium i said well you know it's to find a way to much of that they're just too boring but actually this time they showed some of the games on the big screen inside the stadium it's across the ladies' routes and so for the first time since i think the revolution so seen this like a bit of progress as well. but. i'm delighted to be joined on the stan collymore show savio what do you think of the size brazilian squad now come they win the world cup little mr.

i've been saying the numbers mean something they matter to us as over one trillion dollars in debt more than ten white collar crimes happen each day. eighty five percent of global wealth you longs to be rich eight point six percent market saw thirty percent rise last year some with four hundred to five hundred three per circuit first second and bitcoin roasted forty thousand dollars. china's building two point one billion dollars a i industrial park but don't let the numbers overwhelm. the only numbers you need to remember is one one business shows you can't afford to miss the one and only.

3:22 am
of course and what a night it has been for sukkos a decrease of work celebration but more importantly relief on the faces of the argentina. certainly drought it gave us that. i mean we were kaluta to both games where we were the argentina nigeria game i really had this transfixed i didn't tina allows nigeria back into the game with a penalty in the second half and left it late to secure their place in the last sixteen of the south americans will join croatia also got a late winner and ninetieth minute goal. got that goal of a two one victory of almost and heartbreak for those fires that were going on to the last hope until the dying minutes i'd like so many goals is torn when it came about the five minutes all the extra time so remember the spain game with a raucous that i thought to go wrong seems a bit of a partner who is not keeping files there is this seems to the very last minute that means heading home it's also the last we'll hear of the now famous viking club.
3:23 am
on this let's talk about that first half of the argentina nigeria game show is started off argentina started of energy a lot of expectations a lot of pressure on the missed specially on leno messi who has really underperformed in the first two games of the tournament but soon enough light leo messi scored that goal and really shown the type of stuff that he's made of. he is a world class player and that fourteenth minute he really proved that when he kicked that goal into the back of the net on his right foot actually which is apparently his week of me has one fantastic event that calls for me to when i go right from deep in the ocean in the hoff right into the box little message takes it past the fenders those shots for the young goalkeeper the sheer look of relief on my says face quite a contrast. but similar to seems to be prying. lation
3:24 am
to to the skies second time was no less dramatic nigeria schooled on fifty one minutes a foul by musher on a yellow card could have been a red tackle. just outside the box subsequently there was a penalty for as well bosh want to get a yellow card to tugging. inside the box and that was a draw until the dying moments of the game of course ninetieth minute window from marco roll for an assist from the front. caught a very confidently taken right into the box was unmarked slotting roy into the back of the net argentina managed to hold on to spoilage a team of zero throwing everything they can on the camera actually came off the road on a just pops a few moments before he made some interesting gestures let's say until he does here
3:25 am
and finds. for you always been a character and i was a very little asian in the camera on him throughout the game to you and to see what he's doing interesting. to passion a game for both teams and i mean you know the emotions really were at star in the faces of all of those fans in the stands especially the argentinian fans when that second goal went into the back of the net tears he still more than one time in tears. so emotional those tactical changes seem to work didn't they the the manager as we said there was a lot of speculation about this you. in the changing room some sort of conflict the players taking control choosing their own team. disputes he said that's a load of media speculation load of rubbish the team is playing together there is the sticking united it seems out to argentina finally showed today they much that expectation placed on them thanks and placed on messi as we said earlier that this was really child's frozen team is to make a comeback from being the finalists back in brazil missing out messi swansong see

a national team for those games confer who are going through from great day interrupt their final round of think they know of course we can head over to sort of paid back well the action is happening is that ali is there for as and of course we've got our correspondent andrew fowler in rostov on don he's been covering the iceland croatia clash will be going to them so italy. thanks. guys iceland's first ever world cup has come to an end here and stuff but they didn't put up a good fight you've gone through all the details for me. when croatia got the opening goal i have to say when i was sat in that arena i thought that was curtains really because tracy always looked in control for me for most of this match up until that point but when news came out that nigeria had a equalized against argentina to make it one one a huge rule went around the rest of arena then it was a big viking clap as we now call it and the players responded i have to say iceland pushed on and they got their just reward with that penalty after seventy five
3:29 am
minutes of. duty obliged to convert to make it one one and then there was a frantic seventy five minutes that followed until at the end and even got that winner to make it two one for my money croatia are always the better team three wins two three i think they probably will go far in this tournament given the fact that they've arrested so many places even today but as a football fan i am sad today because it means that i slowly going home the reason i'm sad as you've alluded to there a country what with a population of three hundred thousand and yet they still managed to hold argentina to a one one draw in. i put a cat among the pigeons which i loved as a football fan then you've gone through a list of plays you have second the jobs to you so the goalkeeper is a film director apparently he directed to video for iceland's eurovision song contest entry i have a man that packs so to reykjavik and also their manager used to be a dentist before he got his teeth into football would excuse the pun these are only stories you ever hear in the f.a. cup back in england you never hear them at the world cup until now there's
3:30 am
a full fan i am sad that i seem to get in time to croatia he would be winners tonight and i think you have to keep an eye on him like to take. oh oh oh oh oh oh bushy. should be standing near our house where i'm. all over the. steering by city and fans out there breeze if you saw a pretty fed up with something else and sure enough when the ball pops just just out there beyond the field right square was that was that had been like. yeah these argentinian fives really coming out with relief more than anything actually who is . the big bad by music just to my right as well so that's on the top of the
3:31 am
atmosphere for the fans are going on very happy this evening that game of both the first off getting off the explosive start a little messy getting his first goal of the tournament with a great strike across the keeper and that got things on the way and the noise in the streets by a stadium overwhelmingly ardent city and supporters in that ground this evening at the ready for the lid off the stadium and at that point they were very comfortable in the game come to half time just off the off time nigeria was. a penalty that was slaughter the whole comfortably by victim over the sun really for the rest of the second all nigeria look very comfortable they actually could have made it she was on a couple of occasions and if you were discussing before that was a. very controversial be all decision which wasn't given school by jury and then it was just four minutes till the end loftus road popping up with the body
3:32 am
finished any strike would really be proud of a full city is a sense of hof and so that sparked a huge sea of celebration amongst our agency the fans not just in the stadium but across the world. argentina can look forward to playing frauds in the next round and that's sure to be one of the real big not just of the next round but also of the told him and so far in those he's been saying this tournament where deep into the thoughts a nice guy and only one goal destroyed so there's been lots of drama so far lots of goals we're expecting to continue going forward. let's have a look back at all the action from early on tuesday from group seemed france and
3:33 am
then more car through to the last sixteen france went on beaten with salmon points and then mark chalked out a win into a draw us gave their fans something to cheer about with a two nil win over us travel yeah both countries will be heading home though and here are the highlights from that game. it was. france and denmark recorded the first goal last match of the twenty eight in world cup france topped the group and one point was in to see danmark through to the next
3:34 am
round alex a euro shop skate was at the game and caught out with the denmark keep her kasper schmeichel. pace spoke to probably the happiest man to be on that pitch that's obviously. of one and only peter schmeichel actually asked him whether the game twenty years ago in one thousand nine hundred eight when the situation in the group was exactly the same at the one thousand nine hundred. games but he said that he didn't even pay attention to that game because he was focusing on the job at hand which was to secure a qualification and possibly not to lose to one of the strongest sides in the tournament one of the favorites to lift the french national side so i also asked him about the video assistant referee system which was introduced in this world cup and in fact schmeichel has already been on the receiving end of two cases of interference in the previous two games so this was the first game that you have
3:35 am
played in this tournament without any kind of foreign interference does that make you feel better. well i think it probably should have been to go into variances from that it looked like we should have but. where do you stand on the do you think it's a good time to. write a final one so you are probably playing creation the next round. very potent forward line what do you think is some scary or calm collected. well let's see if it is likely very likely to be today we just enjoy this result we enjoy the worry that we're into the next round and then some more we start focusing on next game quite interesting though on the one hand he feels that there should have been two penalties on the other hand he says he's not a fan pretty much just like his father peter schmeichel. wednesday's matches
3:36 am
brought relief for argentina fans and disappointment for iceland but despite their early ag said supporters showed a sense of pride and their first after world cup campaign zero. zero zero zero zero zero. zero zero years showed that you know. they got us to. zero zero zero. zero zero. you know. that quick look now at how the first a knockout round is shaping up here and why it will take on portugal in saatchi on
3:37 am
saturday while france will face argentina and then on sunday at spain against of the host a nation russia here in moscow the trade show will play denmark in the off the right. stay with r.t. for our world cup special coverage right out to the final on show line think fifteen. well you know on to other news now artie's middle east correspondent paula sleazier has been denied entry to ukraine she was stopped at the border well hiding to a human rights conference on media freedom here is what she told us shortly after arriving in the belly in effect lights here from kiev for a pretty uneventful this of course is after spending around eight hours today in
3:38 am
the departure lounge at the airport in kiev i arrived there in the early morning and initially my passport was flagged at customs they then took me to a side room where they kept me for around an hour and a half without giving me any kind of explanation eventually when i asked what was happening they called me and they sat me down and they said that i had been found to not be allowed to enter the country they wouldn't give any kind of reason they said it was an order that came from above and they are me to sign something that confirmed that i understood that i was not being allowed into the country and that i was being banned for the next five years and as i say no explanation given after that i was taken to the departure lounge to be honest the treatment by the border police was ok there wasn't any kind of harassment or talking to me badly in any way and they left me to my own devices a few hours later they came with my passport and then i was allowed to board the plane i was attending
3:39 am
a conference in kiev that is organized by the organization for security and cooperation in europe the o.e.c.d. and it's a conference that was devoted to media pirelli t.v. and media freedom in ukraine and that's the irony of the whole situation is that i was meant to participate in the conference to talk about all the the problems we as journalists face particularly in conflict zones and the vote. thora he said we're holding that conference refused me entry so it says a lot about the way the ukrainian authorities view press freedom not allowing journalists to attend a conference on press freedom the last time i was in kiev was back in two thousand and fifteen at that time i was reporting on fires that have broken out channel and i started receiving death threats on my twitter feed and an online witch hunt was instigated against me in the decision was taken for me to to leave as soon as possible all of this is particularly concerning because of course it sheds light on
3:40 am
the very real situation in terms of press freedom media karate that is happening right now in kiev there was a response from the o.e.c.d. they said that they were greeted what had happened but of course saying one thing and having a conference on media freedom while you have myself and another russian journalist who was also prevented from entering the country while we were in the terminal and this conference was happening where words seem to mean very little actions of course will speak louder. she was not given any explanation as to why she was denied entry however under ukrainian law for an area must be given a reason if there were refused access and now we have asked the ukrainian foreign ministry to clarify the situation and we're waiting for a response but we did get a response from the british foreign office commenting on the case of paulus leah who has a british passport they said that it was not something they could help with they suggested speaking to the u.k. embassy and ukraine well r.t.
3:41 am
has also asked press freedom organizations to comment on the case with paulus lee at the international federation of journalists to said that kiev's actions completely contradict democracy while human rights watch said that any dissatisfaction with the work of turin this does not justify burying them from doing it and of course the incident was a mansion and the media freedom conference that paula was having to how well for the panel change the subject when it was mentioned you should step away from the policy that we condemn and russia i'm think full to the speaker for condemning the decision of the ukrainian authorities not to allow russian journalist of guinea and correspondent paula slewed to come to green preventing them from participating in this conference thank you. question move the audience not necessarily for the expo panel here so i'm sure we discussed during the break i have one. question.
3:42 am
thank you very much to one published when we spoke to the man who asked that announcer that question the russian foreign ministry representative mark seemed ok which. alone pretty well in the ministry of foreign affairs. which are probably. another factor of where lucian of the rights of us and we do in ukraine. be rid of this or for international audience. angels to react as well. leave some room for amelioration i would say but. we can see now the more and more this reaction gets a more accurate and more. r.t. spoke with human rights a barrister geoffrey robertson and he believes the ukrainian decision undermines the whole purpose of the o s c e conference later in the day we'll be showing that
3:43 am
interview in full in going underground here on r.t. the whole point of the cold front is to avoid such situations two and mabel the russian and western positions to be looked at more objective pretty much not help when you. prevent them from entering into that discussion this decision has said to message that ukraine isn't interested in that kind of democracy which is important for the fair coverage of the situation in ukraine. the global chemical weapons watchdog will be voting on wednesday on a controversial proposal from the u.k. foreign secretary boris johnson says the o.p.c. w. should have the power to assign blame when chemical attacks take place at present
3:44 am
the u p c w g experts will say. well when the top happened but. who was responsible for. if we are serious about uploading the ban on chemical weapons that gap must be. under current rules the o.p.c. w. only has the power to determine whether a chemical weapons attack has taken place and which agents were used that's in contrast to the form of by the called the joint investigative not can is an operators in syria until last november russia is against it the u.k. mission to have to change the open sea the rules saying it would turn the body into a political. and i think hate of journalists to rick's western powers summarily looking for a pretax to target the syrian government as much as the o.p.c. w. needs to be respected and supported i think we have to we have to be very careful and
3:45 am
there's got to be really it guarantees of objectivity an independent so it's not a political tool by by one one state or one group of states it's mandate is really to implement the chemical weapons convention but in the last several years we've seen a situation in syria where the efforts of countries to overthrow to topple the damascus government have used. claims accusations of chemical weapons usage and the o.p.c. w. has been part of that if you look at their reports they rely very heavily on witnesses who are provided to them by the opposition they don't pursue evidence which contradicts the western claims so it's very valid to question the objectivity and independence of the o.p.c. w. . president trump has lashed out at the modest cycle minka harley davidson over
3:46 am
its plans to shift production away from the u.s. . harley davidson is using deficit excuse and i don't like that because i've been very good to richard know that used that as an excuse and i think the people that write are always are not happy with our leadership and i wouldn't be either but mostly companies are coming back to work on. harley davidson plans to move some of its manufacturing to europe to avoid paying the newly imposed tariffs when exporting to the continent than later by company says the move will save nearly one hundred million dollars per year in taxes the e.u. recently slapped import charges on american goods including mata bikes and retaliation to trump sterrett steel and alan many i'm trying to clean the levis were needed to protect u.s. manufacturing from unfair competition but economist jeffrey albert tucker told
3:47 am
american firms have nothing to gain from trade wars. this is a consequence trumps trade war and it's a classic case of how these government actions tend to have the opposite effect trump wants to make america great again what he's actually doing is causing more financial pressure for american firms that rely on imported raw goods and for american producers through markets abroad to buy their products so this is very bad american companies will move aspects of their businesses abroad if it's a life or death issue the purpose of business is to serve the cause of business and and to and to stay profitable and to serve their stockholders the purpose of business is not to make donald trump happy. residents of a paris suburb say the drug problem there has out of control and they accuse the
3:48 am
government of doing nothing about it charlie doman ski has the details. i'm on the road that skirts surround port palin you know with the paris as you can see this slum that's emerged here is brimming with rubbish it's also infested with rats but more worryingly this has become a hot spot for crack addicts and the issue is so severe now that locals have this crack him a little further up the road it's not long before we come across people who appear to be smoking crack in throughout daylight others showing signs of being high often known as the poor man's drug crack is a derivative of cocaine mixed with baking soda or mania it's the most addictive form of the drug judicial review i've seen people come here and after six months

they look like the walking dead they've lost fifteen kilos. it's really health for everyone she share in the g.m. has lived here for twelve years he says that while poor pal has had a history of drug problems it's now spiraled out of control. the situation imported oil is catastrophic the authorities have let the place turn into a slum full of crack addicts it is ignore way of the community on the hill there are five hundred people who are doing crazy things and annoying the locals very aggressively steal we have all sorts of things going on here about five years ago there were around a dozen of them we knew who they were but today it's five hundred the state is completely abandoned everyone stuck in traffic we see some men demanding money from drivers they claim it's for food but local say the money goes on drugs and
3:50 am
despite a continuous police presence nothing seems to change some officials and they're claiming this is the crack capital of france the scale of the problem is such that put the chapelle is the biggest selling point and consumer of crack in france there are now demands for an emergency plan to be instigated to combat the problem so far this crisis not being heeded by the government nor the local authorities and for now the people who live in port delish appelle and its surrounding areas remain in fear if the crack addiction continues to explode jollity pinsky r.t. paris. well they're third from was before and now we'll be back with more right at the top of the hour.

greetings and sal you should see the debate over immigration in the treatment of those looking to find asylum here in the united states has been dominating the headlines but it's these stories buried beneath those headlines that truly expose the reality of the issues and just how far the corruption and hypocrisy goes even when dealing with families being torn apart just for trying to chase the american dream take the recent revelations surrounding many of our good friends in the tech industry and their two faced relationship to this ongoing black stain on america's immigrant heart and b c news is reporting that quote several high profile data and tech companies have made millions of dollars in contracts with the u.s.

received knows no bounds even when it comes to traumatized families and abused kids i would start watching the hawks. to wonder what. the. real thing would be. at the bottom. like you that i got. the. tickets are. welcome aboard the watch of the hawks i am i robot damn top of the law list. and i wish i could say i was shocked but we see this more and more and this is the point where people go how could you save us how can you say that what sort of words are you are going to spare superior you spending up now and
3:54 am
you're like no no no seriously facebook reuters these are people are profiting off of the internment of refugees yes and their children are everybody's be a lot like when you're going to work at work yeah yeah you know those stories were in the you know in the dust off your history book and you hear those stories that aren't talked about that often of like you know coca-cola making fand just to do business with the nazis you know where your bosom i think was. there's a view of the computer company making the numbers counting machine i.b.m. i think it will regionally made like the number counters for the concentration camps you know the first computer yeah you know it reminds me a lot of that were like corporate mentality just does and puts aside like on their cover their face they'll be like oh we really care a lot. but we'll still make money off of you well isn't that kind of the point i mean it's we will figure out a way to make as much money as we can and part of that is not spending money as to
3:55 am
whether it's immigration. or is putting jobs overseas the truth is that corporation that has a politician in their pocket they only care about themselves they don't care about their tax breaks to help you they don't care about these more jobs to help you they don't care whether tariffs help you the consumer or the employee they care about themselves their board members and this is a perfect example of how entrenched it is oh yeah here are. just some of the the companies will run it down here's a hewlett packard for tris us your printers i believe thomson reuters microsoft motorola solutions and power steering wheel are just some of the companies some of the companies with these ice contracts in the last year or two years last couple months even as early as may we are talking about and what really jumps out to me is this rather like a slip really interesting little company problem tear rioter thiel and if you don't know about peter thiel billionaire you know shuts down entire news organizations
3:56 am
because they said mean things about him on the internet i guess yeah so you know. one of the ones i think that sort of struck me that was so odd was reuters. is. this idea. between powell and here and reuters now pelletier is one that we don't really know much about the things you might be going what the heck is this i've never heard of it so this is a pal and here is a cia backed firm that is used by law enforcement across the country so sheriff's departments marshals all of law enforcement it's behind. a very controversial set of software and we've talked about it on this show that predicts the likelihood that someone will commit a crime it's a very minority report it's pre-crime it's their first job and to this person looks like they're going to be trouble so in twenty thirteen it's client list was the cia
3:57 am
the f.b.i. the n.s.a. the centers for disease control the marine corps the air force special operations command west point and the i.r.s. maybe they're trying to put out of someone's going to is. probably going to cheat on their taxes to fifty percent of its businesses in the private sector and in-q tel if you don't know what that is it would be the cia's investment arm or a little hedge fund angel fund for the best stuff out there was an early investor of the whole. i want you to bring up before we do reviews of the also reuters the losers of this bother over certain i couldn't get it off my head i just think it was like a you know peter feel he's you know shady here's a little more cd but reuters was the one that really a. subsidiary of the news agency workers is the thomas reiter special services so what they did is they signed a six point eight million dollars now dragged with ice in march and has for active
3:58 am
agreements with them so the contracts what they stipulate is that reuters will provide support for ice is inside. and removal operations unit and its mission to locate arrest and remove criminal aliens that pose a threat public safety also the c.e.o. of thomas reiter special services steve ridley is on the board of the ice foundation on nonprofit that supports the members of i posted the cost. from one border issue to another while the united states border with mexico has dominated the news cycles of late controversy is now brewing on the northern border between the united states and canada and the form of tuscan tuscon is short for a tip off the u.s. a hear us canada it's the name of a highly secretive anti-terrorist database used by the canadian border and immigration officials to detain interrogate arrest and my entry to anyone found on
3:59 am
it and the secretive list used to detain folks crossing the border isn't enough to raise a few eyebrows the real twist of this story as other u.s. actually controls and adjust the list itself artie's out of it as more it's an american data based used by canadian authorities hundreds of pages of documents were detained by the ukase the guardian to canada's freedom of information act which allude to the american list named tuscon being used as a secondary source of information to canada's already substantial no fly list the don't fly list called the passenger protect program shows known and suspected terrorists were forbidden from flying in or out of canada it is estimated that list holds one hundred thousand names. however is a different animal especially when applied to canada most notably the canadian government has offered a way out travelers can apply to have their names removed from the no fly list this is not the case for tuscon which has the personal information of six hundred eighty
4:00 am
thousand people who are believed to be linked to terrorism the canadians of the database are at the mercy of u.s. officials who have up. no obligation to foreign nationals so good luck getting off that list too so it also goes beyond the airport centric no fly list and that is also used in every land and sea border in canada as well as visa and immigration applications critics say the biggest problem with american lists of this kind is that they're inaccurate forty percent of the names on the f.b.i.'s list have no connection to terrorism and some say these lists are racially biased even with the problems at hand canada has chosen to move forward with an updated tuscon system the guardian obtained documents which show that the canadian government has worked for the past three years to expand its involvement in tuscon without public acknowledgement canadian authorities say that procedures have been introduced to ensure the u.s. database is accurate but with the information be controlled in the states it is difficult to gauge how much input canada really has in tuscon in toronto i'm alex
4:01 am
mileage r t. so do you think of like twenty sixty there's going to be you know a lot of mileage a virtual reality trivial pursuit game that's going to be like back in twenty eighteen was there a u.s. border the wasn't having some kind of controversial there was headlines associated with it i mean the atlantic sky what the fracking off drilling off shore you know now canada's as like a horribly controversial tuscon i mean my goodness we all know how terrible the government is of making lists and checking them twice and eventually once about terrorists i mean no we've known as the united states government under obama under bush under trump it doesn't matter who it's under it doesn't matter about the administration if you terrible system for tracking bad guys first we don't track the bad guys we already know we're bad i'm not trying to be sexist in short if we don't you know that he said it not me so you have this majority of people that we
4:02 am
can't keep track of already we don't know what they're doing we don't know what this person is doing we don't know where anybody is but we're going to expect the united states government to come up with another terrorist watch was that we're told will you share those time we figured out other words do is kind of like outsourcing i mean you know one of the i'm like i don't think you want to buy one and one of the weird parts about this is that though it's used in canada it's actually maintained exclusively by the u.s. and there's no actual clear process to have your neighbor removed from the list no and you're talking about becoming like six hundred eighty thousand people on this list there's no way to you know your personal information could be on that list stuff could be complete and accurate you know there were babies on the terrorist watch list like three months old or are sending money overseas or something so they are all believed by u.s. authorities to be linked with terrorism making tuscon this affront to essentially
4:03 am
as a second no fly list that's closed in secrecy so another secret. but. again us please all have links to terrorism but we all know that the precedes or the methodology that they come apart come to to get those names on the list is very broken has no no real science and all of them secret weapons they're going to play ball and say hey how do i get out of i have up on this list well that's come we can't tell you that you're on the list that's national security you know what's also interesting too is the this because the u.s. controls you know the database essentially you could be cleared by connect canada as like oh you're safe your friend you can go across the border but you could still be detained because the u.s. has controlled the list like you can you can be cleared by canada because the u.s. doesn't take you off the list then suddenly you could still be detained and listen just bureaucratic well you mess then there is are the only guarantee you this list
4:04 am
is not full of people who are blonde hair blue eyes. with names like tabitha wallace and i think these are definitely i mean we just saw last week that there was a girl who was jogging along the border between v.c.m. and washington state job too far and was held in the united states for two weeks you want to know why because she looked like me you know she was french but she had dark skin dark hair everything else and of course like african american are terrorists if you're brown any of the brown persuasions and you come by a border you're suspect you don't realize that's racist that is just institutionalized seeping out racism that's here in this country for so long about a novel new idea how about we get rid of borders completely they're just invisible that's all we don't need them really you so just saying all right as we go to break card watchers don't forget to let us know what you think of the topics we've covered of facebook and twitter see our poll shows that r t v dot com coming up we have the pittsburgh to talk to to talk the police killing

a teenager and one road for a second with roots on the ground the organizer busted gibson stated. the fruit of the poisonous tree this is what critics are calling the ongoing investigation of alleged trump world collusion with russia during the two thousand and sixteen election in the meantime the upper echelons of the f.b.i. have been decimated. and as russia gate morphed into f.b.i. game.

the city of pittsburgh isn't mourning and protests following the shooting death of teenager and juan rose the second has now joined the long and tragic list of unarmed black citizens shot dead by u.s. police officers in a story that has become all too familiar since the police shooting death of michael brown in ferguson missouri back in two thousand and fourteen and one rose was shot three times last tuesday june nineteenth as he along with another passenger ran from a parked car while police arrested and handcuffed the driver police pulled the vehicle over because it had matched the description of a vehicle allegedly used in a drive by shooting earlier that day now just over a week later as rose is laid to rest protesters and mourners are calling for justice and answers from the city of pittsburgh and joining us now is destin gibson one of those protesters and organizers who are seeking justice for anton rose and his family thank you for joining us. dustin i want to start by
4:07 am
asking you you know what what are the. request the demands of whatever was called of the people out there protesting in pittsburgh what do they want one of they feel what will bring justice in this in this tragic death. well i'm not sure what well will actually bring justice nor my quick to answer that but i do know that not only do the community want the officer charged but convicted as well. one of the things about the officer who pulled the trigger on and on michael rosol the is currently on administrative leave as a resident of the city as pittsburgh what has bothered you most about the handling of this case by authorities including the allegheny county district attorney's fees the polish you have some opinions about that. i am a resident a city official. the murder happened in
4:08 am
a borough right outside of the city called east is very. but i think the most. the most depressing fact about it is if i were to shoot a seventeen year old on video as he runs away from me three times in the back i would most likely be in jail or dead now the officer is at home or in another location with his family. and he's not held accountable for the things that the rest of us would be. and that's what gets to really the heart of this kind of thing is the fact that you do have this on the countability all the time you've got someone shot one of the by running away from them no weapon whatsoever and shoots somebody dead cold but yet still nothing no charges that we've seen or anything like that is that what really gets to the heart of this issue for the people of pittsburgh. yes and this is unfortunately not the first time this is happened we've had. a number of police killings in recent years bruce kelly jr was
4:09 am
murdered in january of two thousand and sixteen by port authority police christopher tompkins was shot through his front door after he called the police for robbery just last year by the pittsburgh police so this is happened numerous times and we haven't seen charges or conviction on any of the officers that have done this what i think is happening right now is the city is rising up in a way that we haven't seen and the support is coming from every direction until justice is served for and it's one of roses and. what do you think. what do you think. is is happening that's new because there is a sort of watershed moment there's a tipping point where a community says enough is enough where you know one one group of people or finally just say we have to do something is that what do you think it is because you see so
4:10 am
many of these week after week and month after month it's been a very long list as long as we've been doing this show some six hundred episodes says day one this has been one of the major stories and it keeps happening and we're angry because it shouldn't like there's no reason someone shouldn't be held accountable what do you think it is about the enron rose case that just takes it to a level where finally this is a not and serious action to happen. i think this has a lot to do with. the person that antwan rose was. in attendance at the funeral folks the way they talked about him talking about a seventeen year old student i'd like to ski and like to snowboard and smiled all the time and volunteered at a free store and was an honor student and was a poet and all of these things i think when people see images of him and hear

stories about him they see the kids that are doing great things in their communities they see their sons and their nephews and their brothers and i think that is motivated and inspired people in a way that i haven't seen before and it's not just activist organizers or community builders at these protests and rallies it's grandmothers in trans women of color and white people and young black people young black people leading these efforts it is people that are the most marginalized within our communities from the homewards to the manchester's to the the braddock's it is every day people that are. not only putting their bodies on the line but also risking a lot to speak out against this in a way that we know harassment might come from law enforcement because it has in the past but people are putting that to the side because what ants one represents is so important not only to us in the city of pittsburgh but to the country at large we
4:12 am
absolutely believe that if this is to happen to and one and we do nothing about it that this will happen again so this fight is for justice for and so on and it's also to prevent this from happening in the future that's the next thing i want to ask you about is the future you know you say this is the tipping point it's really moving that you sort of got people out there you'd never expect you know out there marching and protesting let their voices be heard what is the next stage where does this go what what what happens next in this in this in this movement to find justice. well i think what happens next is we're all taking. directives from what the family wants. they are the ones that are in the front of this they are the ones that are carrying the heavy load they are the ones that are forced to become activist and speak out against this in a way that they never ask for so we take directive from them so as of right now the only thing that we want is justice charges and convictions brought against the
4:13 am
officers for the larger picture we have a district attorney in stevenson pollard that's been there for twenty years that has locked up entire communities of black and brown people and has never convicted a officer or held him accountable on his own volition so we're looking to rearrange that if that needs to be rearranged by finding somebody else that can get the job done and actually prosecute the people that are committing murders pitch very busy interesting place in the sense that the majority of the murders are young black people and ninety seven percent of the unsolved murders are black victims. so this is not just a thing about police violence this is violence in general starting with things like the infant mortality rate for black children in pittsburgh is the highest in the country this is a. systematic solution to the problem in so a house the happen every local store one level that that happens and we have
4:14 am
a couple minutes left and i don't want to run out of time for this is that a lot of your work involves the injustices perpetrated by law enforcement and their minions of many you know d.a.'s and everybody else that's all part of that system against the mentally and physically disabled and we again we see stories like this and about you know someone who is called someone who is suicidal or someone who is of sad or you know in this day and age i mean one rose normal p.t.s.d. would have made anyone run away from that car you know in truth that was an emotional reaction of fight or flight he ran because we know he's going to get shot if he stays there and he gets out if you say is there so i think there's a whole mental health issue can you tell me a little bit at a couple minutes last about your work with the disabled and how that relationship with physical and mental disability and law enforcement is is so intertwined. yeah
4:15 am
so the area in which ants one lived in and went to school in was woodland hills school district a place that has been riddled with gun violence over the past few years at least ten of his cold learners over the past few years have been murdered in this area so the type of impact that has on children is great what we know is. people that live in low income communities specifically black communities here in pittsburgh are experiencing p.t.s.d. or see p.t.s.d. meaning that it's complex and they're still in it and we also know when it comes to police killings that it is. intertwined between abeles them and racism the people that are most impacted by karsh or violence whether it be the people that are actually incarcerated or the police people that are at the brunt of police brutality and violence are disabled people of color we are in a state of pennsylvania where seven out of ten women that are incarcerated have
4:16 am
some form of documented mental illness i would argue that the kids that i work with that the at the young jail are one hundred percent disabled due to the environments in which they're in which are violent that's a great point you bring up because not a lot of people pay attention to that model lot of people say oh wait a minute also the environment it's not you know we have kind of the classic ideas of mental disability but we keep p.t.s.d. we kind of push that away so you grow up or you grow up under a cloud whatever you call it but that doesn't have a direct effect on your mental health ability to do things does it i really want to thank you for coming on today i got only about thirty seconds left anything else you'd like to say. no i just like to thank you for having me on this is unfortunate that this continues to happen folks should know that this is not the first time it's happened in pittsburgh but what we're witnessing now is an uprising of people in a way that i don't think we have ever seen in this region so this should carry us

set to attend a conference on media freedom. for the latest on these stories and old reactions from the world com had to r.t. dot com stay with us for cross. hello and welcome to cross talk where all things considered i'm peter lavelle the fruit of the poisonous tree this is what critics are calling the ongoing investigation of alleged world collusion with russia during the two thousand and sixteen election in the meantime the upper echelons of the f.b.i. has been decimated proven misconduct as russia gate morphed into f.b.i. .
4:22 am
talking investigations i'm joined by my guest doug in washington he's a presidential. dorian a former white house adviser to two american presidents also in washington we have richard goodstein he is a democratic political strategist and former advisor to hillary clinton's two presidential campaigns and in new york we have lionel is a legal analyst and a news decoder at lionel media dot com all right gentlemen crosstalk rules in effect that means you can jump in anytime you want and i always appreciate line to let me go to you first in new york i was i don't usually read the wall street journal but i did come across a fascinating op ed a few days ago mahler's fruit of the poisonous tree it makes no difference how honorable he is this investigation is tainted by the bias that attended it's an origin in two thousand and sixteen is this investigation the result of a poisonous tree go ahead and you're a legal analyst so go ahead. and the doctrine of the through the poisonous tree is applicable and also keep in mind where all of this started from was hillary clinton
4:23 am
trying to explain to the world how she lost a rigged election everything that followed all of the derivative analyses all of the investigations all became relevant because of that initial attempt on her part to explain either how she lost or how the russians were somehow involved in it and then as it evolved the american people understand there are biased sees it's ok for an f.b.i. agent to have a political inclination that's one thing but this makes watergate look like a walk in the park it is contaminated it is oh she owes its rank. and that's all there for our viewing pleasure ok richard i'm suppose i'm it's really obvious i'll give you the opposing position go ahead my friend so i read that wall street journal piece that you refer to which i frankly peter saw as
4:24 am
twisted bordering on the doraine just for this reason it peter struck with singlehandedly out to keep donald trump from being president he knew everything about the counterintelligence investigation of donald trump he knew that don jr and the rest of the crew met with the russians in trump tower he knew the papadopoulos had met with you know had bragged to the australian ambassador about the dope the dirt on on hillary he knew about felix ater trying to get a trump tower moscow bill he knew that there was fake there with lies put out about about the trump tower meeting and yet he did nothing to disclose to the public that this counterintelligence investigation was going on before donald trump got elected and at the same time he encouraged komi to put out that letter that was so damaging ten days before the. and pain was over that was struck still and so to me this notion that through the poisonous tree is twisted it is prevert and as i said i
4:25 am
think kind of doraine that it speaks to how people want to kind of see ghosts you know donald trump refers to this as a witch on the phrase witch hunt became because there were no which is. gotten five plea agreements he's gotten another dozen or more people indicted these are not witches these are real humans who are pled guilty to crimes so sorry if somehow or other ok because richard roth had. to be honest here all of these crimes have nothing to do with russia number one ok at least the russian government here let me let me and i want to agree with lionel and richard here because richard said something that's very interesting you see what you want to in this both sides see exactly what they want and we've been watching this go on for two years but doug i think one of the things that i would contest with richard is that we don't really know when this counter intelligence operation started because the players that are
4:26 am
involved keep changing their story ok it was supposed to be july now it looks like it was in spring and we have the issue of informants or spies whatever word you want but it looks like they were looking at members of the f.b.i. we're looking at the tram campaign much earlier and that my account for richard i'm going to speak to doug right now the insurance policy that struck talked about go ahead what is your take on everything we've heard so far. there's a very good reason why peter struck didn't leak some of this because it's nothing to leak he didn't know that the media would cover it so well i mean twelve year olds. oh man a for deals that we all knew about in washington anyway i would say this i would say why wouldn't you recuse yourself a person of integrity if it was the other way around if it was a pro republic. and in there and even a cave if your wife is getting seven hundred thousand dollars and you know that
4:27 am
five hundred thousand of that money is coming from terry mcauliffe who is the one nine hundred ninety six clinton reelection finance chairman you know that money's coming from there why wouldn't you want to recuse yourself this is a professional organization the f.b.i. so it's really bad there's one simple reason why they didn't recuse themselves they thought hillary was going to win exactly under what kate thought he'd be the f.b.i. director and peter struck was on the fast track to promotion as well that's why they did expose any of it ok like i don't want the sheriff to it gets two against one richard please jump in go ahead just a quick thing on mckay business his wife was the democratic candidate for the state senate position in virginia she got help from the democratic party in virginia to turn this into hillary clinton money again it's twisted it's really kind of making facts up and people keep doing it because it's handy and stereotypical shipment ins
4:28 am
you know. and all right gentlemen are seven channels are going to get over it already we're not going to resolve that particular issue on this program here let me go to lionel. i'm not going to put words into anyone's mouth and i can read someone's text messages this is from peter struck and they i mean i did did did lisa page of the district actually do any work i mean how many times they message each other but here's one of them. we will get we will stop him and it was directed at trump we will stop him i think it's oh i think all of us would agree you could have you could call trump an idiot a fool a buffoon that's fine but when you start reading these texts it looks more like a plan to me and i don't think that's twisted go ahead lionel. well here is a question to not only did they work but these were putative lovers. did they
4:29 am
ever love but that for another show look let's go for the big hit parade let's look at mr mr mahler's track record he got man a fortune gates pre-dated and today did trump big deal so why do whatever you want then you've got flynn and papadopoulos who get this are indicted for lying so your main witness pled guilty tell me now on my next prosecutor and there's nothing worse to call your first witness you pled guilty to lying yes but you're not lying now you know what that and who dies third. it's some imaginary russians who they figured wow they're not going to show up in court some dead and that came on the heels of the f.b.i. trying to explain why they basically ignored protests and warnings of some kid who was about to shoot up a school so you know what you know what mother of got so far that fat that's the
4:30 am
big that's the big nothing burger as for he said he got it all of the day but for. anyone that's watch this program for the last two years knows that i think that this is. a you know delusion this whole thing but what i'm really more interested in because of looking for collusion they have actually found what i believe is true corruption in the f.b.i. and i think that's what's really interesting here richard i mean you have major figures over the last few months that have left the f.b.i. and it's all because of these investigations here i mean you are do you support a thorough investigation i'm not saying i don't like special prosecutors but i think there needs to be a cleaning of house here there's just too much that has come out with the i.g. report that really casts a lot of doubt on the bias of the upper echelon of the f.b.i. and i think the american people have a right to know go ahead richard so i think a lot of these f.b.i. officials who have left left because they are nauseated the donald. runs the
4:31 am
government and looks like he wants to run the f.b.i. like a mob boss look his hero was roy cohn who is basically a lawyer to the mob and roy cohn with a fixer he thinks the justice department and the f.b.i. should act as his personal fixers and when they don't he's offended he's offended that komi wouldn't drop in which he asked to be what about mike flynn and one final thing i mean one one point you know doug doug said well the reason that struck didn't put the word out about trump being subject to a counterintelligence investigation about russian collusion is that nobody interested would be interested trouble won by a handful of votes in michigan and wisconsin do you think that really nobody in those states would just kind of go whatever in the russians but forget it no heck know that if they really wanted to take down he would have put the word out and he didn't that's what makes this whole thing so ridiculous this notion of strong somehow trying to take out well it really could have any did it can't but we don't
4:32 am
know everything yet richard let me go to doug because the second half of the second volume of the i.g. report will be talking about that but but does the teams mean one minute before we go to the break here i mean i think we learned enough so far and we're going to learn a whole lot more because a lot of people get to start testifying in front of congress is that there was there was some kind of collusion going on in the f.b.i. from the evidence that we have now go ahead yeah absolutely and there are there were no statements pro tromp among these f.b.i. people richardson turning it around to make it sound like trump is running the f.b.i. look we have the judicial branch the legislative branch the executive branch we do not have the justice of department branch they're not independent nobody elected them they come under the executive branch they should be donald trump's justice department not obama's justice department the american people like to trump not clinton sorry ok but you know. but it didn't but it does but at the same time you
4:33 am
do have jets. missions and you have christopher ray there being very tepid right here and when we get back from the break i want to talk about why those two characters are weighing in the way they are ok gentlemen to jump in after a short break we'll continue our discussion on the f.b.i. and russia. join me every thursday on the alex salmond show and i'll be speaking to us of the world of politics or business i'm show business i'll see you. as he should be. one of the people so if he be in love because. that's me what i mean i will me and nothing. but the fantasy of.
4:34 am
what i was was a. double move. in school i'm. only in the spirit in the prison instead of instead of the watchman. read some of this boom the.
4:35 am
winter is that and there have none he moved can you hear me shall i. welcome back to crossfire all things considered i'm peter lavelle to remind you we're discussing the f.b.i. in russia gate. ok let's go back to lionel in new york lionel the other character outside of peter struck that i find very very interesting even kind of mysterious is rod rosenstein i mean why hasn't he recused himself because he's actually a witness in all of this stuff and he's overseeing the moeller investigation i find that to be very troubling go ahead lionel. because there's
4:36 am
a sense of paralysis they're not so this is not supposed to happen for the longest time you know we've used the term deep state or intel state or police state or whatever you want to call it whatever you want to call this government within the government but for years they've they've run this with impunity and by the way this is not the frontline the rank and file f.b.i. agents are out there investigating bank robberies and federal fishing violations those are great people same thing for the d.o.j. but this is the what the seventh floor of this notorious group they don't know what's happening they went into this cock sure ready to go they thought they were locked and loaded that they were going to somehow bring apart or cause the dissolution of the house of trouble not one think about this not. saying has ever materialized so far and by the way let me add on to this the whole russian collusion thing apparently the the extent of the evil machinations of the russian enterprise is facebook ads so so far everything has collapsed and there has been
4:37 am
a sense of paralysis and what i suspect is they told everybody nobody move nobody weak use this will somehow go away this cannot be happening it's learned helplessness it's power rally as this but something tells me he'll be getting his marching orders but without this say so well it seems to me and we go to richard here this is the ultimate boomerang effect here we wouldn't found out about any of these things unless they believed that there was collusion with the russians i mean it's all coming back to them in all the characters who are involved and i want to stay with the rod rosenstein richard i mean how do you explain that i mean he's in the middle of all of these things he signed one of these five warrants against carter page i mean him and he wrote the recommendation letter to fire komi i mean he's got his finger tips on all kinds of things are you should he be a someone that's calling the shots go ahead. so rosenstein yes he did
4:38 am
sign the pfizer warrant as did predecessors of his and it was approved by one judge after another after another after another all of whom were republican appointees so this notion that somehow this is this democratic. and i don't there's only conflict if you brought up the dossier you brought up the dossier and they were less than transparent on who paid for the dossier and who put it together so you know you know we can mince our words right here but my point is it's take the city i mean he's involved in many elements of this should he recused himself because i don't think he's an honest broker go ahead richard. he is really only involved in one element and that as a fact witness which is what komi said to him and what the predicate was for that letter that he sent to the president write this investigation peter is going to look at ways in which the russians tried to affect the outcome of this campaign and
4:39 am
money laundering and bank fraud and any number of different things in that little piece of rosenstein there's going to be next to nothing ok i think the the russian meddling in the in two thousand and sixteen election is going to be a very very thin volume of anything because we were saying you know ok but richard after two years and after that that orgy of leaks at the beginning of his the administration you'd think someone would cough it up by now but they haven't here ok well i here's what i think though i think what to miraculous i'll let me get one find of which are i think it's miraculous frankly that the molar team does not leak and these thirteen and angry democrats that tom talks about donald trump contributed more to democrats than all of those thirteen working from all are put together so it's his way of deflecting i get it but it's a miraculous that you list sections and jared and roger all these people that for god their meetings are just discussions with the russians it's a little bit more than a coincidence don't you think. and i believe actually roger stone and then he is
4:40 am
meeting with this really weird character that wants trump's money which i mean if this guy's a paid f.b.i. he informant that was recruited from the cia then they have some real personnel problems over at the f.b.i. believe me ok fine that's an interesting point i want to go back to christopher way in sessions because i think this is also quite fascinating here here we have oversight committees in congress you know i mean they're going to put out subpoenas they're going to put people in contempt i mean they want the frickin documents ok and they are very slow walking in. how do you explain that because and i say this in a very colloquial way and not in a very narrow way this is the trumpet d.o.j. this is the trump f.b.i. how do you explain it go ahead. that are slow walking because they know the whole world can change in twenty four hours and they don't want this information out you can see why rod rosenstein why he threatened to that was chilling to me threatened
4:41 am
his own oversight committee what has happened to the u.s. constitution i just want to revert back to this russian it's so incredible to me you're telling me two hundred thousand dollars worth of facebook ads through the election to hillary clinton and a five hundred thousand dollars speech to bill clinton that people could see on you tube free of charge didn't throw the election but i think rod rosenstein it's chilling threat to the oversight committee should scare us a little bit about what's happening to this post constitutional drift we're in in this country i think it's ok and i'm really glad you brought that up and i think all of you know we all of us have our own opinion and some of them are very at odds but i think you mention a point that i think we all should really care about not to go back to richard on this because i'm really well and i've been saying this for a very long time i'm very worried about institutional erosion here and the
4:42 am
confidence the public has in those institutions and as things stand right now richard it doesn't look great for the f.b.i. in what we have learned so far and we're going to learn a whole lot more if and i love how the f.b.i. loves the use the word candor for telling the truth i hope peter straub will be will give candor when he's talking because i think he's got a lot to explain i mean i went through a political article i mean all of the things he said i mean of course it can be bluster impress his girlfriend but you know there's a lot in my gut there's a lot of substance there go ahead richard about the institutions we need to protect them. i mean and struck said bad things about bernie sanders about her about chelsea clinton so somehow or other obviously we're putting the spotlight on what he said about trump look i think that that james komi because the average president of the i am glad you brought her down to the f.b.i. only twice he twice by giving that press conference which he had no authority to do
4:43 am
absent the issue of that letter absolutely at the end of october so i think he has damaged the f.b.i. but these people who work in the justice department swear allegiance to the united states of america not allegiance to donald trump you know doug says with the trump justice department these people owe allegiance to the united states of america to us not to trump and therefore they cannot turn a blind eye can the problem with what the house is trying to do is they're trying to get documents so they can walk over to the white house and say donald this is what they have against you because they're full but rich not right but richard at the same time in the i.g. report you have one of these high officials in the f.b.i. making reference to hillary clinton as president so i mean you can every thing you just said can be turned on its head ok they were referring to her as the president before the election ok i want to get equal time right in the world did they not disclose this counter-intelligence and that's the that's the thing that's so what you know they originally thought it wanted to elect her and that if we if they
4:44 am
really cared about the country and not the candidate or against a candidate they should have informed the tram campaign that some of your folks are talking to people who were worried about i think that could have been done that would have been their job ok that would have been the protocol but they didn't do it again that cast suspicion lionel you remarkably quiet jump in. oh i don't interrupt this but i hate to to dispel all this hate it with all due respect to richard i'm sure you're a fine fine man that is a slave to the facts and he said good man is my friend so don't play here. and these are our friends and he's a friend of truth withstanding peter this is about one thing only it's not about just it's not about the f.b.i. said about anything it's. trade of tromp they hate trump they hate it's the opposite of a fetish it's trends from
4:45 am
a range of mid centrum it's all about how big the wave he can win and we will do everything in our power using every machination available to try to extricate club back under to recreate go back through time bandits do have is it because trump card not the president and people not you richard but people somehow that sounds somewhat like you wake up every morning and they say this can't be and that ed and there's nothing to do with the constitution that didn't do it for the poisonous tree nothing to do with mahler just a letter that. fact that they could not have won and everything that they tried including that red state added of theirs who lost their rigged election she blow it ok they have to get this green line now i think we all we all agree on this program that every individual can have bias ok you can have you know
4:46 am
you like chocolate milk milkshake supposed to be no ok you have a bias towards war this is a let me finish let me finish let me go to doug here but these are sworn officers that swear an oath to the constitution and i think that all of us are kind of close in age and i remember the f.b.i. t.v. series remember that what kind of guys they were they were the straight guys. ok straight up book by by the way j. edgar hoover read every single scream production a did you know that you know that j. edgar hoover read the scripts and he was that rigorous about it so he created a lot of mythology there but i don't serious know doug i mean i'm kind of a counter to the line of course you can have a bias but it doesn't mean you can break the law and that's the difference ok that's what i'm worried about go ahead. i was a friend of f. from zimbalist jr and miss him it was interesting person who started the f.b.i. yeah i'd like to know who wears the pro trump tech i have. a little
4:47 am
balance here where some pro trump people that serve on the molar committee it seems to me that this is going to be portrayed as a partisan witch hunt because that's what it is and they they won't there's no attempt to bring any balance to or there are any facts to it and they're pursuing twelve year old deals that manifested may. not the f.b.i. but i know about manna for deals that were twelve years old this is how desperate it's become in order to try to get some indictments i think it's pretty pathetic at this point and it's good for us to know the truth ok and that's what we all want on this panel in our viewers we want the truth so let's continue down the path i'm interested in what mr struck will have to say many thanks and i guess in washington and in new york and thanks to our viewers for watching us here darkie see you next time and remember.

in the heart of the swiss alps this is a place probably more secretive than the pentagon more mysterious than the cia and better guarded than for knox the swiss customs are here permanently all the site is controlled by them and they imposed the opening time so it was it it was a good piece from seoul plus the procedures in place of the strictest in all europe . masterpieces by artists like pecans oh and modigliani i kept boards and sold inside this warehouse that's where the report comes in it covers a. naturally discreet commercially discreet step but also discreet because they concern fraud. some of those paintings are linked to dark secrets nobody knows how many of these secrets a kept inside the geneva freeport system you'll never obtain an inventory of all the works in the freeport who knows how many there are three hundred three thousand three hundred thousand is it

was sent to attend a conference on media freedom. the latest on these stories and all the action from the world cup had to r.t. dot com stay with us for the financial news and the kaiser report. right i'm asked geyser this is the guy's report says max this is our final episode here in dublin at chris kaiser report and espanol conference and we're going to turn to the second bit of that onstage thing you did with one of the heads of queen bass you talk to a great investor and there was a c.n.n. reporter and she had followed up on a point you had made about being a store of value as she was asking what are the biggest hurdles a big point to maintain itself as a store of oh i had a good answer to that let's check it out all the adoption rate you know that's what
5:22 am
we're talking about so a couple i claim base as brilliantly creative on ramp people can get into crypto know opening thousands and thousands of accounts and they are providing that experience i think that in the future the adoption rate will be driven as it has been since two thousand census a white paper makes reference to the banking crisis of two thousand and eight in the genesis block and i think that these banking crises will continue and that will drive adoption clearly in the french economies like argentina venezuela they are mad about bitcoin because their economies are in freefall those are peripheral currencies when you have a major currency like the dollar the yen the euro the panel and a similar crisis which i believe will happen you'll have then adoption rates in those countries well spike as well as a way to store a value as a way to preserve wealth because the banking system is completely unsustainable it will not exist as we understand it in ten years time it will not exist central
5:23 am
banks are an endangered species i might take a more moderate approach on that if you have a lot of accuracy so if you truly are you going to enter into i'm sorry but. this is just like max said point based works hand in hand with government so i think one of the big things that's holding back this industry right now is lack of regulatory clarity in the you. yes we're quite a base was founded and we operate in is a great example that we have four different regulators that all regulate cryptocurrency is something different the i.r.s. has its digital property in san a department of treasury calls a currency the commodities in futures trading commission calls it a commodity now the f.c.c. is likely calling it a security in and the honest answer is that it's a little bit of all because it's a technology that allows different applications and use cases and they all resemble different forms of financial instruments so from our perspective we look at coin bases mission is to help the currency enter this ecosystem we have to be the on ramp we have to work with kind of safe trusted counter parties like banks and regulatory agencies the lack of clarity and the kind of ad hoc approach not just in
5:24 am
the u.s. but internationally look at europe look at asia look at parts of latin america makes it very difficult for businesses to succeed it's ultimately achievable it's just it's going to be a hard process months at a point right so rightfully has said that they work with governments and they have a great solution and on ramp there are industry players that have chosen not to work with governments. who have chosen to not interact with regulators or to interact in the least possible way with regulators or to go jurisdiction shopping so they'll go to countries where they know their money is welcome their business is welcome and so i think there's a dynamic evolving i think that ultimately the regulators in my view in are not really going to be helpful in the development of this industry and in this strategic way and that this is a self regulating new asset class that we don't need those regulators and so.
5:25 am
i think that's a that's an issue going forward obviously that's a bit of a controversial issue. and i sin and again claim bases are brilliant company and they do brilliant work but. i think that there's ongoing tension between krypto and regulators would you like to be the judge of this debate should we bring the regulators early on to make sure they don't come in later just i mean if i were him and i have been. educating regulators people consider that a bit of an oxymoron but for the last few years around the world and i think it's better because i they are going to stop and i think the industry showed last year that they were very good at self-regulating that starting to correct but given the i.c.a.o. scams of last year that really woke up regulators who may have been more quiet on
5:26 am
that front so i do believe that there is this push and pull though and if you see cases like china which shut down. krypto apparently i mean great you go there and there is still a lot of mining and trading happening through other means i don't think you can just shut this down it's like this whack i'm all you know it's like you whack in one place it's going to pop up somewhere else is it better to involve the regulators in the building process of well i don't know if the building process necessarily i mean they're not technologists i think we need to educate them on what this is about and the fact that they can ultimately control that so i mean this is the centralized this is global i was in it i mean i remember i was in india during the monetization and the price. point was like a thousand and back then the price wasn't that high it was
5:27 am
a thousand dollars more and he had just because of what max said the demand when people stop trusting their governments and that happens on a regular basis they're going to go to an option like that is the answer is through two points one is it's on it's uncontrollable and a lot of what is the second point is that the regulatory community hasn't really earned our trust you show me a regulator and i'll show you an extremely corrupt organization i mean look at the banking system in the u.s. banks like wells fargo openly steals from millions of customers are going to slap on the wrist j.p. morgan hundreds of billions of dollars worth of fines for outright fraud no regulators bernie madoff was reviewed by the u.s. you see three times they saw nothing wrong these regulators are weak they're captured they're ineffectual they're corrupt you show me a strong regulator maybe i'll talk to them but the reason is created is because there is no strong fair regulator there all they all stink so that's it's thank god because he's here to take the economy past the corrupt regulators and that frankly . i can see there's not very many regulators.
5:28 am
what all the big players the big banks they've been rejecting big chord for a long time. and then come december last year suddenly they wake up so there has been a lot of corp where do we. the traditionally a big players in the financial market getting into the space of this from what we're seeing the coin base i think largely the conversations been around public block chains like a ferryman vehicle and private block chains and what we saw banks kind of notably did in two thousand and fifteen sixteen and seventeen is move forward with private watching instances and while we think that's ultimately a good thing i don't think it's going to be nearly as impactful is open or public block seems like the coin will be for the exact reason the internet's been far more impactful than private internets have been again they can it's not either or they're going to complement one another but i think that's kind of been the first conversation the second one the one that we spend
5:29 am
a lot of time thinking about is the institutionalization of the space and that is the large banks the hedge funds the sovereign wealth funds of the world now beginning to move capital into this new asset class and a lot of the work we do a client base is building not just the products the qualified custodian the reliable exchanges the prime brokerages but also having the right regulatory licenses so that capital can move into the space so what i see coming from banks right now is maybe a little bit of ever being taken out of the room on these private block chain instances that may still develop but are not going to revolutionize their work overnight but beginning to look at crypto as a new asset class that ultimately their clients want exposure to yeah i think there is that it's come from the ground up it's clients that have been asking for exposure to this asset class and the banks have kind of been dragged into it jamie diamond two thousand seventeen september call it a fraud and then two weeks ago just hired a head of strategy and that's happened over and over again
5:30 am
a look at goldman and so and it's because of that demand from their clients that's not a top down strategy it's bottom up and that goes with. what crypto. and blocking as a bow marks i have an idea what you think about that but do you think they have something to break and see this space or should date just not know the data they rarely nothing no value to add to it to the space and financial times this morning said half banking jobs are going to be eliminated came up all the back office ship blah chambers is becoming law change is great for banks because they take all those back office jobs of matching trades i was a stockbroker for many years and the whole antiquated system of matching trades and clearing trades is unbelievably byzantine and so this is all going to be done away with with block say ok so that's half the bank's gone what about the front office
5:31 am
the guys who just sit there all day and just collect ron t.a.a. like fees for overcharging customers and and doing the various things what about those guys well they will have a war of attrition where more and more their customers disappear into old vengefully there's nothing left so how many bookstores are there in a free standing mom and pop bookstores are there you know after amazon came into the space very few they came and they're just there's the there's stores there's no room for them the answer is no no that's my short answer right so the last one on bitcoin the question everyone is burning to oscar price in a year in five years where do we stand i kind of want to see it get to the that price at which john mcafee says he'll eat is only half what i was that guy is that three hundred thousand i think that was a million dollars only in the line so i mean i'd like to see that and i could have it on my show and i'd love to have. my show i mean i'd write
5:32 am
a lot now so i think it's going to get to a million dollars you know i think if you look at the rate of compound in you know it's angst. it's pretty remarkable it's almost one percent today and you just follow the compound rate of return albert einstein said the most powerful force in the universe is compound interest and that's a quote from albert einstein so imagine if you're comparing a one percent a day warren buffett's compound to twenty two percent a year ok charlie monger by the wind to this big coin prize well being time's a thousand the prize of the year charlie monger gets to when he croaks. luck you're right i'm here i'm here for you know. i have it i think it's going to keep going up i don't pay as much attention to the price i'm more interested destruction yeah i mean it's the technology behind it and i think i think all
5:33 am
roads and indications lead to more demand for this as an asset class it's the most secure it's. fixed supply there are a lot of things going for it that i don't see other. necessarily fulfilling that store of value functions so i you know i'm i'm a holder. so from our perspective point it's one of the world's largest exchange operators we tend not to focus on the price of explicitly focus on the process of fair price discovery so we have over twenty million customers that every day are buying some crypto we some of the largest market makers and banks are made me and. you know what i will say look i mean. i do think in our lifetime we will see this asset class emerge as something that everyone has a bit of exposure to and i do think that if we move ourselves from western developed countries like the united states and europe this doesn't solve the real problem in more developing economies and i do think in our lifetimes we'll see
5:34 am
a grassroots movement where people of those nations start to move away from their own future currency into a decentralized digital currency is a sort of wealth oh i strata that you know why the. ira my good friend charlie and his wife courtenay from their wedding state service are going to have a whole lot more coming your way.

welcome back so the cars are parked imax keyser yes i'm still money calm skies a report comms yes and the great thing about event like this is they meet interesting people with new projects and sometimes you're things i'm just learning about at the same time you're learning about the stuff and so i want to introduce at this point thomas fandor spy a space that sits taliban or say now first of all i must say that the reason i plucked you from the crowd is because you have a cold jacket on thank you for the day with that jacket was the closest jacket i could find that represents block chain writes right i need to stand out in the crowd so i mean standing out now you're on the kaiser report ok so you are with bit fair what you do it is fair but face three stage process we start in who are you even there i am one of the kind of fun that you want to call it is there's
5:37 am
a lot how old is the company company started in march last year we started building out platforms already both playing live on the first of october it's a trading platform allows us to buy short predominately short for the first time so i think on then i can take a position on a no up or down south africa a year from south i'm from is that you'll see in south that i'm fortunate not by studying and we chose angola just because it's much safer haven to do that's why you need talk to me it's not regulated in south africa it's not unregulated in south africa we don't know where it's going to go so why incorporates way we on show. that africa the political posture toward crypto and. so you guys figure hey let's go to some place where we have a little board transparency and that is angola and go off as a stove to act they want to act regulates utility tokens so it makes obvious sense to regulate or set up in the interest that you know in the conference here may i call you thomas yes i understand there is some talk about regulations the point
5:38 am
being made that if various countries at the regulations. they're not friendly decrypt has the ability to go jurisdiction shopping they can go wherever they are most welcome really a comment on that one hundred percent exactly what we did you know we don't have the friendly environment inside africa and we jump shop we set up in another country for us to buy my taxes it's a friend the government's own bed to do it right ok now you're from south africa you know ran nooner i do not enough see. africa and i'm from the previous company i'm into my fist at the same as someone in los angeles again we catch stuff he says to the rumor that before he got into crypto he was a pole dancer at a strip bar we told. ok we won't comment on that other let's talk about that fair so this fair you were starting to tell us a little bit about it you were saying allows me the user to take a position along our short on one hundred also. a little bit more about that today
5:39 am
we cannot shorts i thought believe that gold silver whale of a prized apple stock says i would buy so i can go short it i don't have the ability if i do all the old coins i can sell it i can buy it back cheaper than i swear i can profit but i can go short if i do not hold it so this is something you want to just sold in but obviously we understand the liquidity volatility risks we broke as fifteen counterparty risk and we had to find a way to eliminate that so it's a very innovative derivatives vehicle underlying it some option now clearly if we had to introduce options into the trading world will not work so but fate trades exactly like you see if you if you choose to be you go on the you can buy and sell but the financial contract is a very innovative option is saying that options don't work and b. because there's not a liquidity or what options to won't work because crypto trade is still train the underlying token itself now in the financial rules most traders will not trade in the on the financial that they trading in the derivative of that so it just shows
5:40 am
how we are far away from maturing the trading. market in proposed not to be able to do this we have to eliminate a broker there's no other way if we have a broken in the middle no one will take on the rest and that is why today we cannot short quince but fe we're going to. rely only on that sample get a better get dive into your logic care because that's going to be a big part of the bit faires value proposition richard beer or logic and they are approaching all this stuff so you're saying that. your statement let's examine it you say you can't have brokers you can't have middlemen so you're you're just matching buyers and sellers without base without an official as a broker in between yes in a lot of ways it's like a company that has a similar name called bet fair hundred percent is as a fair statement it's a very face statement is the name but as well is that right betfair introduced betting that is getting rid of the middleman as well they just are matching their
5:41 am
peer to peer betting so this is peer to peer market making. toys how is it different in let's say shape shift so in our case we trading in a derivative of the totem it gives us some leverage to that some people like margin trading on average some people call it gambling as good faith with the model we can down but going up to one thousand times they were gay so you don't have an inventory of coins. burchill it's a virtual contract on a virtual coin as the rivet of the underlying financial contract exactly the financial markets work today they're just no counterparty renaissance brightest and so do you have capital risks no we've done because every trade on but face it to be matched into a small country full of a smart options contracts. thing that's you know the liquidity you reach that we office through but fate is not one thousand times but it allows us to hey join sure
5:42 am
position over time be it fifteen minutes be. i would be at a day seven days up to one thousand times a bit max and our friend they have a hundred to one leverage yes and that's just insane that he's insane you guys are going insane to this route square root of insanity yes hundred percent a thousand percent leverage yes some people need that that's an interesting word need sure they made it are so people crazy well if you trading capital risk one thousand times yes i would agree you're insane you're crazy but if i'm holding one thousand times in a while it's what i can on not just trade on a thousand times leverage caging my position if you're responsible it's a beautiful vehicle but if you taking a risk gamble speculating that leverage becomes really dangerous yeah let's be clear about something so in the area the types of hedging products they can be used
5:43 am
to hate your portfolio as well as to speculate if you have a large four for all your fault lines you can use bit fair to hedge your position if you had a large position in life coyne or minera or max going on or off max going to get ready on bids fair it should be set on a ledge fair yet it's not on but food life i get as i said i can't believe i leave here i'm sorry i said a sudden outburst there but if i had a portfolio of all these and i wanted to sell them what i wanted to have some hedging protection how long he has been up and running so the platforms i mean launching officially on the first of october that's going live on the first of october how many technology people developers you have working on so we've got a team of nine on the project and yeah more than enough on that project we build it we're running the final security tastings and we've got to physically go away to tastings tasting what is psychic astronomic wonderland. narrow salad followed by
5:44 am
light point soledad what are you talking about the sense things are tastings tasting. tasting testings. that accent so i can tell fluffy pony yes i do for him and friends if so if he's south africa african really what's going on down there you guys are crazy we are one of the biggest topics on google it's i think south africa's number one on the treaty as to whether what's going on. political unrest you know we are an emerging markets we're literally a first time tree but we're stuck in africa and we think that's doing not. exactly like chris does at the moment people say ok does evolve i said have you seen the south african rand. figure and we're in the same boat yes what do you think about let me ask this question the emerging market currencies are in freefall against the dollar and there is a countries like that as well argentina maybe south africa there's
5:45 am
a move to crept out and they see that as a safe haven play under what you know you're in south africa and any time i have so i went to south africa i like to stay there very politically aware because it's a political hot spot for decades yes what what do you think about this as a safe haven for emerging markets why how come you don't see more people in argentina and venezuela flocking in decrypter maybe we do what he says it's still early days once inflation takes in the currency loses value on a fee that they will they they won't go over you know it's the same way americans in my view sometimes a lot of americans don't even understand what is happening the current system of it cannot survive the woman survive it won't collapse eventually will see these countries for like dominoes you know we've seen it with some bob we've seen it in cyprus greece argentina looks like they're being bailed out now venezuela is in the same situation one by one these countries will collapse like dominoes and there will be an image starting over into when i face
5:46 am
a situation where i can buy the same my amount of money that buys a house all of a sudden buys a lot. of braid one year later i'm obviously i have to go into i don't even i do not have another option what about comparing a product to a bank or bank or offers kind of pair or trading and they offer liquidity that's their service how do you compare what bank or how does it from from liquidity's important but it's like the defense on the revenue. end of cryptic strange traditionally liquidity is very important for exchanging ona side liquidity is also important but we are matching trades so c. day the best way to explain it to most people is that the way we see trading going to buy and sell something immediately the reason why it's immediate is because it's a secondary market and if we had to go back in the region where how an exchange had to work everything was just good to be there's always a one on the one side is always a loser on the other side of the trade you know today because of the secondary market we can do these kind of things we do not have the luxury in old coins and

emotional parts. icing said we can create some problems. emotions were high on tuesday of croatia brave and always positive iceland packing on a tense argentinian side finally registered a win against nigeria. and daniel hawkins were following the match. it's been such a rollercoaster and the games in group do you really action as well in group c. of course and what a night it has been for us in cosy degrees of work celebration but more importantly relief on the faces of the argentina fire the spray can head over to seven pages back well the action is happening is that ali is there for as and of course we've

got a correspondent andrew fowler in rostov on don he's been covering the iceland croatia clash will be going to them so italy. is iceland's first ever world cup it's come to an end here in real stuff but they didn't have put up a good fight you've gone through all the details for me. when croatia got the opening goal i have to say when i was sat in that arena i thought that was curtains really because tracy always looked in control for me for most of this match up until that point but when news came out that nigeria had a equalized against argentina to make it one one the huge rule went around the rest of arena then it was a big viking clap as we now call it and the players responded i have to say iceland pushed on and they got their just rewards with that penalty after seventy five minutes. judy obliged to convert to make it one one and then there was a frantic seventy five minutes that followed until at the end and even got that
6:24 am
a winner to make it she won for my money croatia always the better team three wins two three i think they probably will go far in this. given the fact that they've arrested so many places even ting but as a football fan i am sent today because it means that i certainly going home the reason i'm sad is she validity their country what with a population of three hundred thousand and yet they still manage to hold argentina to a one one draw in the game and put a cat among the pigeons which i loved as a football fan then you've gone through a list of plays you have second the jobs to you to the goalkeeper is a film director apparently he directed to video for iceland's you were a vision song contest entry i have a man there that packs sold in reykjavik and also their manager used to be a dentist before he got his teeth into football if you excuse the pun these are only stories you ever hear in the f.a. cup back in england you never hear them at the world cup until now there's a full fan i am sad that i seem to going home. he would be when a sinner and i think you have to keep an eye on them for like to take.

clean my car to use it well the cup host peter schmeichel has been busy supporting his son kasper denmark's goalkeeper clearly following his father's footsteps. he witnessed the game between denmark and france and caught up with the younger michael. probably the happiest man to be on the pitch that's obviously. of one and only peter schmeichel actually asked him for the game twenty years ago in one thousand nine hundred eight when the situation in the group was exactly the same at the one thousand nine hundred. games but he said that he didn't even pay attention to that game because he was focusing on the job at hand which
6:30 am
was to secure a qualification not to lose to one of the strongest sides in the tournament one of the favorites to lift the french national side so i also asked him about the video assistant referee system which was introduced in this world cup and in fact schmeichel has already been on the receiving end of two cases of interference in the previous two games so this was the first game that you have played in this tournament without any kind of foreign interference did that make you feel better. well i think it probably should have been to go into variances from my well we should have but. where do you stand on the do you think it's time to. write a final one so you probably playing creation the next round. very potent forward line what do you think is some scary or. calm collected.
6:31 am
well let's see if it is. very likely to be today we just enjoy this result we enjoy the next round and then some more we start focusing on the quite interesting there on the one hand he feels that there should have been two penalties on the other hand he says he's not a fan pretty much just like his father peter schmeichel. oh wednesday you're set to see a new round of crucial encounters with teams fighting for their place in the last sixteen mexico will face sweden south korea taking on germany switzerland are set to play costa rica will face off with brazil brazil and switzerland top group with four games serbia have three and costa rica know there's everything to play for though with each team still very capable of qualifying. for the car in the standings of group f. mexico it's in the lead with six points germany and sweden with three points
