the world's biggest. breaking news an r.t. five people are killed and several injured in a shooting at a newspaper office in the u.s. state of maryland one suspect has been arrested. is confirmed that. will hold their first official summit in helsinki but the meeting in the finnish capital is already sparking anxiety on both sides of the atlantic. and sixteen go on the sixteen and go home and the group stages come to a close on day fifteen of the world cup in russia our special team looks at all the highs and the lows.
5:01 pm
it's made by here in moscow and you're watching r.t. international live with me in a day or two to welcome to the program. we start the program with breaking news from annapolis maryland in the u.s. five people have been killed in a shooting at the capital because that newspaper office and several more injured one suspect has been arrested and we will be crossing over to our correspondent later on in the program but until then we'll go on to some of the news. the u.s. president says the world has to start getting along that says he was talking about the upcoming summit with president putin the first between the two leaders the meeting will be held in helsinki next month the chief of nato has welcomed news of the first official summit between donald trump and loudmouth putin he says dialogue is a sign of strength his words were echoed by the european union's foreign policy chief however not everyone in the breeze with the highly. anticipated meeting already
5:02 pm
creating a ripple of anxiety according to media reports. as well. but we've had official statements from both the kremlin and the white house saying that the two will be meeting in helsinki finland on july the sixteenth and the statement said that the two will be discussing relations between the u.s. and russia which of course both presidents have been mentoring for quite some time in the state at the the low that they're out at this point in time and it also said that they'll be talking about a range of national security issues among that they're likely to touch on topics such as syria and ukraine now as you mentioned earlier this is the first official summit between the two presidents although they have spoken on the phone several times and they have actually met in person a couple of times as well the last was on the sidelines of the economic conference and vietnam in november of last year but this who seem to get on quite well. campbell is shallow but what.
5:03 pm
so they're the two were all smiles and we have only to wait and see what will come out of this meeting and if it will be productive as well the summit has been in the works for quite a while now and it was only officially announced yesterday on wednesday during a visit by trump's national security advisor here and moscow john bolton and up a time at a press conference after meeting with president putin john bolton stressed the importance of this meeting and what it signifies listen to what he had to say the fact is that it's important for the leaders of these two countries to meet there are a wide range of issues despite the differences between us where both president trump and president putin think they may be able to find constructive solutions i'd like to hear someone say that's a bad idea now that. it sounds like
5:04 pm
a challenge coming from bolton and perhaps unsurprisingly people both at home and abroad are taking him up on it as fears are being raised over the meeting between trump and putin and the media is awash with articles on that topic most of the concerns seem to be coming from nato members who fear what trump might promise to do when the two of them get together the nato members surely fear that trump could call for a reduction in troops and equipment or even possibly the suspension of drills that are carried out in the region and back at home for trump he's likely to have criticism coming from people who'll say once again that they hold responsible for all of the accusations surrounding the meddling in the two thousand and sixteen election will say that he's again not being tough enough on russia and it could also also possibly bring up the specter of collusion once again not that it ever really want to weigh but it will bring it to the forefront once again more than likely but at this point it seems like this summit is full steam ahead and it's much anticipated so we'll be watching and waiting to see what comes out of it. despite the latest diplomatic efforts new allegations are emerging of collusion
5:05 pm
between a u.s. politician and russia this time in national security adviser john bolton is in the spotlight some commentators are describing him as a crime an affiliated often meeting with vladimir putin. political analyst believes there is nothing wrong with an official laying a groundwork for his president's meeting. well i think that the president and john bolton in turn at the will of the president because he answers directly to the president serves at the will of the president i think that it's completely normal that we would want to meet with russia every u.s. president in the history of my life anyway has met with the president of russia and i think that mean dialogue and discourse are important next steps between the two countries and i don't know why as john bolton said i don't know why
5:06 pm
anyone would be opposed to that and i think that most americans would hope that whatever the united states and russia could agree on would be able to be discussed and so that if there are some good things they can agree on they can move forward on those things. go back to our breaking news story with five people have been killed and several injured in a shooting at a newspaper office in annapolis in the u.s. state of maryland because live now to talk about fondant who's in the u.s. . what more do we know. this point police are giving the number of five for the number of people killed the number of fatalities they are confirming that five people are dead after a shooting at the capital gazette that's the main newspaper located in an apple is maryland now from what we understand that this point the building is secure law
5:07 pm
enforcement both state federal and local are on the scene they have secured the building and the shooter is in custody he is being questioned by the police and the building has been secured now interestingly the details have continued to emerge about what exactly went on inside the building when this shooting was taking place we have phil davis who is a reporter who was on in the building and he tweeted out his experiences saying the gunman shot through the glass doors of the office opened fire on multiple employees he seemed to indicate before it was fully confirmed there were five fatalities that some of his coworkers were dead he also tweeted out the eerie tweet there is nothing more terrifying than hearing multiple gun multiple people get shot while you're under your desk and then hear the gunman reload and at this point you know we're hearing from local officials the governor of maryland is calling this
5:08 pm
devastating the mayor of annapolis is on the scene questions are being raised about what possible motive this shooter could have had to go after the main newspaper located in the city of annapolis now it's important to note there is a very large naval base located in annapolis for the u.s. navy and already we've heard condolences from the u.s. navy tweeted out to the newspaper the capital gazette which has apparently a special relationship with the u.s. navy base there located in annapolis so at this point we know the building has been completely secured and evacuated and those who survived the shooting they are actually in a local. and department store that's being utilized as a place for them to reunite with their family members and get the help that they need and we also know there are multiple injuries we don't have a number we do know five fatalities but also multiple injuries people been rushed to hospitals there the number of helicopters police helicopters medical helicopters
5:09 pm
on the scene there still urging people to avoid the area but they are saying that the building where this took place the newspaper office of the capitol gazette at this point is secured the shooter is in custody a shooter is in custody and is being questioned by the police and so a lot of questions remain about what exactly went on but at this moment we're hearing the number confirmed at five dead multiple injuries so that's the report we've got from annapolis ok ken i'm open the reporting from new york thanks very much candy. day fifteen of the russia world cup decided which of the remaining teams would make it through to the no kind of stage. peter schmeichel from a special studio in central moscow.
5:10 pm
yeah we call it all special steve but because the view is special we have a special player. peter schmeichel who has been treated to fantastic games. to be pretty boring first. up after the break let's look at the graphic because this is what it's all about it's been going to some of the size and then just sixteen so we know and we knew there were three now we know the positions they finished. tonight edging england out they take top spot and belgium a playoff game last sixteen roll stuff against japan england's because they come second place colombia but they were coming here to moscow to play in the. stadium.
5:11 pm
so let's talk about that game that. belgium what it with not a lot of quality in this match but the goal was very good. i think i think we saw the shortcomings of england squad it's a very young squad and. today they did not they didn't take the opportunity that was given to them by the manager i thought on the other hand some of the belgium players they were doing exactly that one of them a former manchester united player. and he scored the only goal in the game and what a crock of that was he was left when he was riding with left again and he coded up into the top corner and i think that we can see that go now that was that was something special to wait for in that game there were few and far between because most of quality. you thinking maybe somebody would take that chance to impress the manager i mean again as i did that that's exactly what i thought some of these guys
5:12 pm
would do. day they don't get much playing time a lot of the players that were in there we saw it and he well they come up come in at the very last ten minutes and think. he hasn't featured at all to any well big as a class player plays for around austin but he hasn't he hasn't played at all and here we we see the result and then losing one it's about him and what they start and gives. in the sort of the way ahead is it gives a little bit more believe in the belgium team because we know when they play their best team they are a world class outfit board happens and it happens quite often is that if you get injury or suspensions you don't have the players to put on but i thought some of the players today in. their acted it will fill a need that well i was very surprised at that he played a really good game today i said genocide as well so you know it's it's for belgium
5:13 pm
today was a good day anybody stand out here in england eleven at changes and it's really difficult to stand out when one of the players i like him a lot is. jamie vadi he was trying and trying trying but to be on his own it's difficult and the way that england play is not completely to the way the genuinely want to play he wants to have them in the spaces whether the ball in the england set up was played more harry maguire that came on i thought he was excellent when he came on and did have a chance in this game when it came to see if very nice to play a rest for a clean three and that's what should ensure school is one criticism people have i mean thirty of rational is he gets into so many great post one positions but he's not clinical yet gets the chances but once he starts putting a few away i think you. be a prolific ghost go by at the moment he struck me a little bit to find the back of the net he should have scored he was
5:14 pm
a fink it's not even a thing it's it was a. little bit of the nail keeps the one to one part of the yukon see that. a coach was saved the world. and even in the replace it was difficult to see that he saved the both of the referee gave the corner kick so he must have done so and that was just about the only thing that england had in the whole game and that i think the south would be very disappointing he's ok as a coach and horses approached again but i think he was wishing for someone to someone to do anything that would give him a problem when he's going to pick his team next time he's going to be now i mean we are but are we fifteen minutes away from the game finishing he knows exactly what eleven players he's going to play in the next game he's got no problems with that and i think he will be a little bit disappointing for ok well we have. the game on tuesday to take it was
5:15 pm
in the stadium in killeen cats obviously the belgian fans are freaking doubts in a good way. i had a different reaction from the fans from england that i've been talking to me some of them are actually happy with the eight substitutions their manager made. let them have a rest some of their top players some of them actually wanted to. stop. so you have mixed reactions but i just heard i mean credible story from one little boy that i met in the crowd he is not happy with what the manager did he doesn't want his team to play colombia because his mom is from colombia his dad is from england and you know you can see it in his eyes they were wet he doesn't know what he's going to do and moscow during that game they have the tickets for. the game and that was really a touching story this is what football is all about i didn't want anyone to play
5:16 pm
colombia my eyes were a little wet and i'm a grown up so it doesn't matter how old you are there for. me in japan. with just noticing place in the last they always have to see it from the positive side he's here he's easy can watch his game not many people can watch these games take it's a sold out people are screaming for things and been going to come to moscow they're going to play in. spots like stadium that's going to do that and the third of july at nine o'clock in the evening we haven't seen the english fans in moscow so far but we've seen the mexicans the pirouette. and the colombian and the colombian it's been fantastic and now we have we can add the english fans and i can't wait for that person it's going to be some incredible party here but but let me just go back to the game. because the goal that yanis i score i think i think we need to show that because it was a it was a moment of pure class. this is
5:17 pm
a player who has had a tough time when he was at manchester that he flew into the states everyone's saying this is the new ryan giggs the new david beckham he had all these comparisons straight away and he didn't have what it was so young by the way didn't have at the time what it took to sort of deal with it. because in spain now that you see it and so maybe this is kind of a second wave to his cross he's been picked into the squad and when you look through the twenty three names you know every single one of them and you know where they play this is a really really strong squad the belgian star so for him to be in there it is really something big so when he got the opportunity and this is what i like about this young boy is when he got the opportunity he took it and he was one of the few players today who made. the neutral football fans smile like he said this is where you find out which place can do it produce. on the big stage and i can at something maybe break the way. martin is he knows that if he gets stuck in whatever game he
5:18 pm
needs a creative player can come on and do a little trick or we just mix it up change the dynamics he's got at an ungenerous i think that he can stick in that's great great knowledge for a manager whereas before this game he made no changes to start at starting line up but he's made one change that's happening making changes so he wouldn't have known you see had he had to win this game today he would have played space see him again now he did and so we got this up but usually it's a little bit like folk football goal to have that knowledge so those two teams in the belgium looking forward to the next case the last sixteen team saying goodbye but he went out with a flourish on a mountain is either playing in surrounds the lead to an easy came back to win it a lot of pride being playful and i think they did that confuse proud is a pretty good game so let's look at this opening goal and it was well it's actually giving us the old rules because it's. the biggest show he thinks he's cool
5:19 pm
but. flexible and so the rules that if the ball would have gone in had no one touched it then the player who hits a pole gets it but apparently it wouldn't so it hit my. change of direction when in the back of the net so it goes down as a normal slight change i think of a drink as he would become a national hero i think we now have how much they appreciated the gold in the last game against england then came the need to come by they would have been favored to win this match and they showed their strength fifty one minutes then you said it must. absolutely and there's no doubt about tunisia's quality it's taken them a little bit too long to show that and you can argue that the team like panama yes it's easy to show that you have that it seemed they came into this tournament as the highest ranking african nation they didn't show that in the first two games again. england first and then belgium in the second game but in the second hand
5:20 pm
second have today neal that they were a class act and i think they decided to win the game so they got the winner in the sixty six minutes and it was bobby cavett crassly a second of the two of them of the second of the tournament and it was. touching but that the whole play up to that pulls really good. and that will make permanent dramas story moves just as happy. so they finished didn't qualify at some some kind of dignity very disappointed so. they came in as i said the highest ranking team they were very unlucky to lose the very best player a couple of weeks before the world cup to an injury and a couple of weeks before then their goal scored so they've come in. and intercede and said well just thinking to think back to that evening to an easy game it was a last gasp win if england have different that would almost now if that very kane
5:21 pm
hadn't popped up with that winner very true but what you have to remember we talked about this and look at these two games as three games where you need to get four to four minimum but if you can get to five points then it's perfect for you becoming a play your way through the group rather than thinking oh if that happened in the first game so even even in that game when it was one one i'm sure that southgate would have been really happy you know we get away with a point to pose was it harry kane then scored in the last minute to give the three points or to get in the three points and that that of course created the situation that we've seen today with a game against belgium that would not have happened had the game stayed won one would have completely different approach to the game. would have played a so-called stronger team and i think the tactics would have been to go more often . to get the win so this is this is what you do now now it's a completely new kind of came that has to be played don't give anything away and go
5:22 pm
and get something how do you do that so you have to find something that works in between those two things. and you have to be really careful because it's only ninety minutes you don't get a ride in ninety minutes then it's on an airplane plane and go home so we've got to be very very careful in how you play these next games and be absolutely sure about your strengths and your weaknesses so interesting i'm honestly i'm really intrigued about this game here in moscow on the understood england colombia in the. last their opening game only because they had a man really sent off after three minutes that they are stronger and stronger as they progressed in in that group so let's take a look at the teams that england and belgium will be playing a place in the last sixteen a little earlier today colombia top group h. they beat senegal one nil meaning that japan went through despite losing out to poland a very relieved japanese manage
5:23 pm
a whole. whole range of change going to six substitutions coming in the next survived so let's have a look at the goals as they went in three twists in changes in this great been the action for. the ease with you the to if you eat. so we go sixteen remain and now it gets. serious there's no second chances there's no picking up but in the games to. put up or shut up time do or die i would be

following all of the knockout games with you for you on our team do stay with us. thank. a russian pop singer has released a satirical music video about president trump the clip by and then is based on the story of an alleged video showing trump and several prostitutes in a moscow hotel room aside from the president's actors portraying his daughter ivanka and also the former porn star stormy daniels. we're going to cross live now to legal and media analyst lionel. on this lionel welcome to the pro you're laughing already this is just a joke clip but apparently some western media seem to be taking it seriously why do you think they're doing that. because this is the
5:25 pm
most lucid explanation of this to lead you to vent so for my kids you know it's been as of today five hundred ninety seven days since the election of donald trump. and in that time i've never understood one thing about any russian collusion i mean and i've tried to understand it this i don't want to call the name of the state because it's a family show but you know what i'm talking about allegedly women soiling the kaos of a hotel a story i've never understood there's never been any proof of that there we've been hearing about this let me just say that this video and a catchy tune if i might gives the best disquisition exposition of the story that i've heard i need it i think i understand what all of the whole of

ballou was so far in our country involving what the president allegedly did with so. it's a it's a very interesting piece of meat and interesting reaction from the western media as well legal and media and media analyst lionel thank you for your analysis on the flank. well thank you. eat is the trying to hammer out their differences on the migrant crisis for the day one of their summit in brussels they were unable to come up with a joint statement. as one member reserve the position on the inside conclusions no conclusions have been agreed at this stage we're hearing that italy has reportedly stored this e.u. summit until a migration deal is signed now this naturally escalates tensions at the same time it doesn't danger the political future of the german chancellor angela merkel who has been given an ultimatum until july the first five conservative coalition allies
5:27 pm
to come up with a patent european approach to the immigration problem is not choir to the e.u. summit on thursday the german chancellor addressed her parliament in which she said that migration was the make or break issue of the european union. the migration issue could become a cornerstone for europe if we do not manage to solve it it could throw our trustworthiness into question a lot of people say that there will be no european solution that we've already been waiting more than three years for it and i want to take this chance here to say that this is not true the migration issue is dominating this new summit that's taking place on thursday and friday in the belgian capital of brussels. news round up on world cup pilots and i'll be back at the top of the hour with more so stay with us.
5:28 pm

backscatter this is the cause report of what do you know my crystal ball of things are looking or it ends i agree what could this possibly mean let's check in with the ever knowledgeable stacey that kind of reminds me of paris where in paris oh it is new so my old perry assume a little set what does this mean we're in paris we are in the city of love the city of lights rekindling our love in our lives since we were in ireland we've been travelling and about you know portugal south of france we were in monaco and a lot of things have happened in the last few days and including that the m.e. piece the members of the parliament they voted to approve the controversial article thirteen which critics warn could put an end to means remakes is another user generated content article levon requiring online platforms to pay publishers a fee if they link to their news content was also approved this has to go to
5:30 pm
a larger vote sometime in july but just say now that they're looking to destroy means user generated content and even linking to contests well you know there's a fantastic series of videos on the web gold everything is a remix and it makes the point that everything is derived from something goes back to the beginning of time the beginning of consciousness the beginning of humanity is our birthright to think and to use the thoughts that come before us to create build on to say no we're going to draw a line and twenty eighteen and everything henceforth is ours it's ours and everything from the beginning of humanity is not yours it's ours it's ours ok that is just pure unadulterated uncut greed it's a labatt of me is performing a labatt of me and humanity for the sake of corporate germany and it's disgusting and these people should be held accountable for this tragic correction of my human rights of course you need to have access to your own thoughts so of course the world cup has been going on and by the way i did see some sort of spanish speaking television presenter.
