two years ago patrick had a stroke and then his young wife suffered the same fate jan is just thirty four and for the moment she can either speak no work despite everything that she can still be seen as one of the lucky ones. husband kept his promise to be true to her good times and in bad in sickness and in health. one of the. legs is ok but to do older one is not really is not good at the moment but. he will get better. thus this is the plan we get from marriage ten fourteen years ago i had done i was thirty five. i was one hundred. twenty kilo's. i was in big really big my face was right there and here i was right there.

a time. i said i would enter it in if they would not allow. me to for their lives should we. find out all along a million million indeed i'm daft i'm not picking on you need to be indicted have been going on it goes human on mankind i think i made it ok i'm a mean economy are you playing. i've been saying the numbers mean something they matter the us has over one trillion dollars in debt more than ten white collar crime stamping each day. eighty five percent of global wealth you longs to be ultra rich eight point six percent market saw thirty percent minus one of your friends some with four hundred to five hundred trades per circuit first target and bitcoin rose to twenty thousand dollars . china is building a two point one billion dollar
10:18 pm
a i industrial product but don't let the numbers overwhelm. the only number you need remember it's one one business shows you can't afford to miss the one and only . so what we've got to do is i don't. to fight the threats that we have it's crazy confrontation let it be an arms race based on off and spearing dramatic development the only place i'm going to resist i don't see how that strategy will be successful very critical time time to sit down and talk. to the think you see a good seat by a good mood and it is a new school is a c.p.a. to lead the church secret indeed catholic priests accused of sexually abusing children can get away with it quite literally i like to call this the do graphic
10:19 pm
solution so what the bishop needs to do then he finds out that the priest is is a perpetrator is simply moves him to a different spot where the previous standards not know the highest ranks of the catholic church help conceal the accused priests from the police and justice system to that end it has known as the end and then i include that it just is out and. stuff. gets. locked up.

this hour's headlines stories are right wing rag. is underway in the u.s. city of portland with a heavy police presence standing by in case of violence. as democrats and republicans aggressively campaign in local. a midterm elections we look at how both parties are using president trump's image to get their message across also coming up. i. thought i was in dryly in the israeli city of tel aviv furious on a controversial new law that is seen as discriminating against jewish citizens.
10:21 pm
just a few moments into our brand new day here in moscow sunday august the fifth i'm going only on this international our top story a right wing rally led by a group called patriots kicked off in the u.s. city of portland oregon police are out in force braced for violence let's take a look at what's happening right now these are live pictures from the oregon city hundreds of demonstrators many of whom had valid to bring guns have been gathering near where you're seeing they were waterfront park in the city center. activists have also gathered for a contour protest that's been reported that they were ordered to leave the site by
10:22 pm
police it is the third patriot curry rally in portland this summer the previous two ended in violence has its members clashed with police counter protesters and what we're just seeing on those live pictures it looks as if some arrests are being made as well it's hard to make out at times whether it's from the right or left side as well. because violence has been safe from both groups before police say about the extra security measures about how being santa also includes barak paid screenings for at weapons he had just as i'm speaking there obviously somebody being detained . taken away as well a large police presence out there in portland well the event also comes ahead of the one year anniversary of the now infamous unite the right rally in charlottesville. so heavy clashes left wing demonstrator kills by white nationalists since then violence has regularly flared up between

10:24 pm
now let's talk about today's events with jim just government relations specialist and former u.s. diplomat welcome to the program jim just as we're speaking to you we're also showing the live pictures on the screen of what's happening in oregon it looked as if some arrests just as i was speaking earlier were made how do you expect though the day to unfold in portland. i think it largely depends on whether the police continue to do their job i've been watching of this event for the last two hours and it seems that the berlin police are doing an excellent job of keeping the two sides apart although i have seen some rather informal contacts between protesters representing the different views and actually some very cordial exchanges in terms of points of view even a couple of hugs so i think that there is no there isn't necessarily a degree of extremism on all the people taking place that sometimes it is depicted
10:25 pm
to be but the important thing is the police seem determined to prevent any violence to keep the two groups apart and that's that's good how difficult a job without. it i'm not that difficult of a job if the police do it unlike the case in charlottesville where i think it was quite caught because they deliberately filed the protesters the right wing protesters through mob types in order to provoke violence and that is what occurred and i hope people have learned from that that that's not the way we do business in this country that this scene is just as we're seeing we have seen them earlier in the summer as well in portland obviously in charlottesville as well is this becoming the norm jim essentially to expand violence at the least when differing viewpoints converge. well let's let's let's make sure we understand the context here there is no viewpoint on the left that is so extreme that you cannot hold a rally anywhere in the united states and expect to be attacked by protesters that
10:26 pm
simply is not going to happen but what we're seeing from groups like beef is kind of heckler's veto the right to say you may not say certain things were as you're going to be attacked for example even speech in documents is they have been shapira can't see the college campus that is for your own violent attack and that's really the issue here that i think patriot crazier is trying to represent to say look this is america we have a right to free speech without being assaulted by by essentially a criminal act yet just as you're speaking to just recap of what words. king out to our viewers as well live pictures from portland oregon. seems as well but as jim as you've been explaining to police seem to be standing between both groups as well but the city of portland its long had a legacy as a as a left leaning city why such a focal point for these demonstrations. i think the reason the patriots are do it is a bit provocative but i think there's
10:27 pm
a principle involved here is that there are little in this country there's a right to assemble and you can go into a public place and she would like one of these to us and one lives matter because that's something that should somebody should risk being physically assaulted i don't think so and i think that's the point they're trying to make. jim thanks so much for coming on the program and sharing your views great to have you government relations specialist and former u.s. diplomat. now there is more at stake for american voters in the upcoming midterm elections than simply choosing who they want in congress the votes considered to be one of the most important in recent history because it could swing the republican majority but allows donald trump to deliver on his policies there's also the possibility that a democratic majority could make threats of his impeachment much more realistic and nuts why politicians from both sides are topping trump in their campaigns as caleb
10:28 pm
maupin looked into. now the midterm elections are months away and across the country it seems pretty clear that the elections will focus on one single issue donald trump that's not an exaggeration check out this campaign ad from florida everyone knows my husband ron to santa this is indorsed by president trump he's also an amazing dad and ron loves playing the kids build the wall he reads the stories then mr trump said you're right you're right about that part and maybe america. now that just scientists has the blessing of the donald he's rising in the polls trump has actually managed to resurrect a number of republican primary campaigns and for the democrats trump is an easy punching bag and the bogeyman check out how this candidate is marketing his anti trump message i'm rich metal you know i'm running for governor to deliver progressive results and to stand up to donald trump here a few of the things i've done that already in january i protected planned
10:29 pm
parenthood from the republicans in congress. and what's the number one way i. put the republicans. take that trump now the ad never really makes clear how offending the president is going to help the people in maryland but that doesn't seem to matter the anti trump message is loud and clear and that's the name of the game in u.s. politics are you for trump or against him no other information is required that's not surprising when it comes to voters as they're divided along party lines like never before this is actually spruiking members of congress you cannot just run against donald trump and it is the job we democrats to put together a strong cohesive economic. group of proposals aimed at the middle class and those struggling to get better we're in a strange place it's almost it's becoming a cultish thing isn't it it's not a good place for any party to end up with a cult like situation as it relates to
10:30 pm
a president that happens to be of purportedly of the same party the democrats are now taking the cult thing to a whole new level they're even invoking old uncle joe he has very deliberately set up the press as the enemy of the people. who think that he first heard from joseph stalin this is very dangerous it undercuts democracy we decided to ask americans how much their vote will be influenced by one man's cult of personality do you plan to vote in the upcoming midterm elections you know. why not. go there. you need to look at the candidate and you need to see what the candidate has to offer and what the whether the candidate can pull off what they're promising to do what they think of trump not just what they think of trump do you plan to vote in the midterm election. that they don't want to try to win again i don't like i don't like alan. views so i'm not going to.
