5:30 pm
saying. water has some. weight in the water. as our heroes make their way through the afternoon they had to meet with the family that survived the hurricane but is still in some need of a little help. our heroes are also joined by allie a friend of the show and fellow pilgrim. ellie i see even higher only these are my friends amy and jake of are you ok amy steven jacob jacob. cerebrum no max i am trying to get me to take it i mean these are called my friends we're all working together on the great american pilgrimage. i'm from new york.
5:31 pm
we're on the great american pilgrimage you know and destined for cash as one of our sponsors but really friends because they share the same heart we do which is so wanting to be in the business of impacting or connecting with folks so that's why we're here today. so when it first started is rolling through corpus christi and send in tony over and over here would still bed yet you know we're still trying to get through our heads something between shifts not certain if we're going to be working and i had gone back up to the shop that day and as i was coming back the by you down the road i guess it's about two miles back to the east started coming over the highway and we decided that we don't try to hunker down and we didn't know the water was coming but we could see more rain than usual settling here where it's never flooded in that area before so we were just kind of like oh it'll get maybe to the porch but it's probably not going to get in the house we're going to be ok it wasn't like me. in the morning the water had risen up to the
5:32 pm
floor of the house. they were coming by an airboat mark in people's houses with red x. saying you know you gotta get out there opening up the dams you think the water's high now it's going to get worse there were helicopters flying overhead we didn't have any sewer we didn't have any water you were having to use garbage bags and then dispose of it i was i was panicking and you know he's like oh my life in the secure place you have your family became a house of horrors. and i think we were in disbelief when we heard them backwards detach and float off in the back there was a current going and we were like we better get your head free enough yet and now that you can't have that many ties and you were part of the water. here get thirty it's up to your chest it was a tear crossed three and a half feet piece of music here we didn't panic and leave just because the new electric city was going to be in a job in the water and we'd go rubber insulators for. company mon and i waited
5:33 pm
till we should all. so we got in the boat and. try to make every decision you can. as our heroes get a firsthand look at the destruction that was caused. stephen is trying to piece together this home. he's always been the most observant baldwin brother in the world you know very close to his trowbridge. this is one of the next rooms those of us who get to. really see you're. interested in already and we're going to you know about thirty grand we put into it the last three years and this was kind of the beast room i would love to do how did the water come up in here i can't. i
5:34 pm
think the honest the someone of this is. going to see that i mean there's mold there were no i mean no in the house obviously i misunderstood i thought there was some stuff that was a little salvageable you're out of here yes we're leaving this house the reason is we've put a lot of money into leveling the house and for us to start all over again and invest in a home that is already unlevel has old material in it it's just not worth it i just tough man steven amy take a closer look at the sentimental details that have been affected by the flood is there a girlfriend she. would you mind if your personal touches this is all the crap my grandpa's house passed away. then got this old french presidential dress theory and made it into the night then . you're away. and it
5:35 pm
dearest you were coming over the toilet in that tub into the house. this is not the way. this is healthier now to yourself being. here and chilly. and i thought it. was so. this issue. and to look at it it's like oh you know. maybe you can drive it doesn't look so bad. that we're getting it yet we've painted a while like this but back. in inflation might you. think that.
5:36 pm
we're going to try to salvage what we can out of the house to receive it like that we just. have to experience the light maybe cleaners and stuff you have to use because even though it's in there yeah. it is cool it won't be closed the front door doesn't even close all the way became a lot of our stuff and now that we have left so we keep doing it and go and we just leave everything up. and the neighbors keeping our house for us. right here kind of money this is all really wet and my husband did go over to pick something up and because it was always there when he bent over and his father left impression in the wall because it was like molding clay just to suit your contribution to your chance to do that he's a skull yeah you've gone through every single turret stephen has always had an eye for beauty art this is our bag and while. these are not.
5:37 pm
yet found if i kind of like trying to really go why is. that. you know four rows in the current was flowing things have shifted moved around this entire backyard and here's a crack house being level and moving. there's so much shift in here. and that's not just sheet rock that's the shift absolutely. after a tour of the home stephen has outside but gets a little distracted you behave i want to learn about. me. so that big mound of dirt outside to do without digging out of my son and at the same time building up a pad so it will go on is least twelve inches above where the floodwaters came to but i'm thinking about putting a pier home on top of that as well we don't know what's going to be comin to us they said this never happens here and. the last two years it's happened twice not
5:38 pm
even ten miles from us. we're just trying to be ready for the next. well i want to see them quite a back porch. mystery. you got both i think that was easy for me i thought going to bed back. well i think i remember somebody mentioning the back porch float away this is where that with us right here was a four by force a snap no i never actually had it anchored to the house it's an older you were and you're doing the remop right absolutely so. if i'm correct there's an object to see off your beautiful backyard this is that these you know it's a very decker you're referring to yes or. you stand on a. good and everybody up here. for my friend danny
5:39 pm
with gas digital cash i want to let these folks know the other reason we're here think we have a little bit of money we can help you with and that you at least try to help you get back on your feet do you have a smartphone and you go to the app store and look for the dash wallet i can only check my e-mail like twice a week these guys invented their own currency stephen checks his e-mail twice a week but he only reads them never. get these magic numbers in over here three thousand so three thousand and nine it's only nine and so it is dash me dash is a digital currency so it's the simple i pushed. the right received the money. it's also. there's a buy building supply yes actually you could use that for gift cards for home depots of what i see the numbers changing letters that just means that the prices fluctuating at the moment and it will tend to go up and down like if you held onto
5:40 pm
it for a couple of days you may have several hundred more dollars. trying to stop them or you know i don't know ok i would say by the end of the years from we're going to go by bit more fantastic lead on this porch a new beginning. just remember max gets paid. to speak on t.v. and it's handy when i say it. many things to them something that's a call to make use of my writing thank you for that mike i wish you guys like you took me to do here so you can are there another huge i love that after bringing some relief to amy and jake of our hero's t.v. immediate impact that can be made with the help of cryptocurrency but with more work to be done they hit the road to bring that same helping hand to another family .
5:41 pm
in a world of big partisan movies. and conspiracy it's time to wake up to dig deeper to hit the stories that mainstream media refuses to tell more than ever we need to be smarter we need to stop slamming the door on the bad shouting past each other it's time for critical thinking it's time to fight for the middle for the truth the time is now for watching closely watching the hawks. because. we have no idea what safety is doing on the vacation but she will be back on it in
5:42 pm
september. it's a very rough terrain you sort of climates and you have to fight to be able to find . it was gunshots on top of them and so very fresh they would have been only one of many and even not a lot don't let me go back up. you know i don't want. to see it but a body in the children is ready to participate in the good. old to me but with me. you don't think about this if this soldier on no you got three it's like and you know i do and other patients. are heroes are still striving to make
5:43 pm
a bit of difference in the lone star state so they had to visit with another family who's been affected by the hurricane there is max well if you find out please let us know the school says look. this is what's pilgrimages all about. you know. oh my goodness. it looks like a kurdish leader. and we're larry and stephen there you go get our you james first your careers the chris there you go britney be bringing a different hundred honor next to me so i'm ashley to say the least first oh my. goodness pull. data steve nice to me. as anybody told you were crazy stephen baldwin just to name me you know with any luck sequel the biodome this guy knows what we're talking about how. good your little effort hence if
5:44 pm
there's wisdom in it so we're on a pilgrimage. after the hurricanes i just had to save my team guys and it's just no way we can just stop along the way and just say hello to some folks we came to texas and we had a lot of friends here and we've been here and so amazing stories but you can hear all that but if you're not from there it's like the difference you know between being your home and whatever so we wanted to kind of share with our audience what's really going on with. her situation who are all these folks and wires here well this is me and james is how we live our three kids brooklyn barely in line. at me and mine and this is my sister and her husband and their family and my brother and his wife and their family and they're all in the things that you ation is that is that their own house is there and they live ten minutes up the road so we started being asked to show everybody kind of what we're going through on a day to day basis trying to get a lot of back together and everything and your are you living here now we're in our
5:45 pm
camper right now but they entered our camper now also because they got water damage and so we're not living here but we're fixing to be back in this weekend when they come and take our camper trailer. and they said that's ok yeah i mean we're going to have to make it ok there's hotels but there's hours away and we work and the kids are in school so we're trying to get back to a little bit of normal life so that there's nothing you know no regulation or anything no situation from the government so you can't say no is there and they've actually allowed it right now due to the situation and how high was the water here i think at the half in our house they got about three foot. with all the sandbags that was a futile attempt to keep the water oh yes you know where i was shovel in a bowl and we had the sandbags up we were just trying to throw it on the other side of splashing back and it was in the face that really wasn't open much but we tried we even tried chop back in it inside the house when it came in danger from here yeah. yeah ever seen anything like this no not here and that's what they're saying this is the worst ever and nobody thought it would get as much water as it did.
5:46 pm
nobody thought it neighbors everybody else nobody talked him out of water we had here so did you make use of the boat that we had to be rescued out of here and that boat cold behind us with some with our dog and some of our belongings we were on one boat all of us family and then the other boat road behind us with some of our stuff and our dog and the can on it so that we would leave now. thank goodness for that yeah oh book came in handy i always want to use his boat so it actually came in handy this them he also says right now if you're in the same situation you know we got water damage and you guys are just yes i rather than it was their home totally destroyed so were there living without us and were missing sheet rock we don't have a kitchen well we. sure are praying for you guys but it's real and so all the folks out there in t.v. land to hear your story want your name. known stuff i did it really
5:47 pm
early spill. you know my daughter's name has really. really. like we sit the most observant baldwin brother so we go inside to look through what's going on in here now and even. just clean everything you think ready to put back you. are littering the kitchen. counter. whatever he looks like you're in now this is four feet this is the sheet rock the insulation it's all going to go in but the woods over here that's when it was ok he just needs to drown and that's why we had to get all of us all here we turn on a cd let it circulate get all the humidity and everything out and we've treated it with some older major and he'll do stuff so that he doesn't stay where it continued to grow so we can add to his mold and mildew everywhere is green black and white and so we get all the ways that foul and let it dry and start fresh then you know
5:48 pm
hopefully you know. ok you know not to mention what was in the water that is more dangerous even than the old bush eating bacteria is everything else that had been reported you heard some about that yeah i heard this on the news and you guys probably heard it as well as that there's been multiple reports in the houston area of people getting affected with flesh eating bacteria is an immersive that all these all these other different diseases that are floating in the water because you know especially in these rural areas a lot of a lot of these homes probably have septic tanks so you know everything that's in the septic tank is coming up and you know barrels and stuff with chemicals and everything floating in it just flowed down the street so you know who knows what's in the water how long has it taken since the water till now how long ago was that i had a month. after having the days of the water subsided where you live again this was almost a week of the waters fifty stags. flood work yes. now
5:49 pm
here's our. children's room this is our son's room and it's just pretty much the same thing. down to the frame down to the studs which are girls very narrow point for this and that is put in their bedroom and a lot of the matter that i didn't really know for the bed that's over there is half well after that capturing there and this cement was here and yeah we had cars there was a blessing yes yes and i was and some were some some you are going to drive that's not. susa real you know it's your house and yours was third what's been your response from like red cross we were there all the armored vehicles we actually file for being that i think the day after it happened and we're waiting we've got a paper where we actually had a female inspection on the fifteenth that is there not two weeks now and we haven't really heard anything other than they needed some more documentation from us so
5:50 pm
verify that we don't actually have flood insurance. so just like everything else of that paper you know you have to go through the motions and say we're still waiting and hoping for the best i've met with people and twelve cities there already and what i've heard a lot of people say and as we all know they only gave me like twelve hundred dollars their house was destroyed and they've got twelve hundred dollars to work with. you at this point i would even be happy with two hundred dollars you know that is that is i mean it's anything better than nothing at feel like and when we're trying to bring our three kids back in here and live to think about even that would be something it would be a start you know would be back insulation around sheet rock or something to be able to make it livable and safe for the kids and funding why use your stance to kind of i mean we're at the point now we're trying to let everything dry althea which is a big deal because we can't just go and slap new stuff off and stuff it still always starts going to start to hold and build again or have a little waiting a little bit of
5:51 pm
a waiting game and then what's the plan is it trying to things back together very little by little i guess the old saying just prepared for when you've got a roof over your head even though the lord's or your house is trying to. put into both. well guys. obviously have some work to do. and. along with that you've got your hands full with little ones. i mean it's sort of feel like you know trying to a little island swing a hammer. definitely circus act that's for sure it's this sort of or well you know what you know when you think you can it's going to be fun no matter what whenever some bad happens. there's always going to be a little spark a light somewhere yeah so danny scared a little something special to share with you so i'm here with dash and i have some money to give you it's a little bit different money not something you're going to be used to but it's going to work just as well if not better better in my opinion anyway so if you have
5:52 pm
a smartphone all the book you write up with the money and show you how to turn it into dollars or you can spend it on amazon with part time. as we asked mark are you familiar with the cryptocurrency or imagine this new furtive bitcoin on the news i'm sure. bitcoin is a virtual currency and dash is a fork a because. it's it's good coin with customer service as i like to say as a thirty year app store. and the for the dash wallet. it's not that if they have yeah that's the one to tell much ok yes because she said only twelve hundred dollars but i don't really want to know so now we don't have to give in that whole amount we were talking about you know this and there's this you know and yeah and one that. we swear that dash is more cutting edge than that reference so now we have this and i went to.
5:53 pm
his and he does use his device to capture that and capture this oh no i have your public address and i'm just. a year already received it and so they are here. and if you want to turn it into something else but cashell. rose this a big. deal gladly take it off your hands this is two thousand nine hundred sixty seven dollars and thirty nine cents a minute. listen insulation and some cheap oh yeah. we want to come true we're excited that desh is heart is you know of this very spirit you know to want to just like say to people and make a difference make that opportunity become reality directly with folks i've been feeding homeless people every month for over a year and now with dash they give me a certain oh it's each month that's how this kind of came about as we turned the
5:54 pm
feeding the homeless in to helping hurricane victims and when we announced it like hey we got a few thousand bucks here is going to go down there and help a few people and suddenly people from all over the place started sending us deshon because and then the next they got to sixty thousand dollars so now i'm going to have to help a bunch more people. what it awful just to get very hand back late like that of all the not over. so it's really a great blessing we really do appreciate it more and there's people that lost more than what we did but it's still it's still hard count to todd. a lot further. for the dash what you guys are doing i'm grateful a desk to have this position. god bless you really restating to see that. texas is in the books in our heroes have been humbled by the resiliency they've seen from these everyday americans and with the help of danny and dash they've been able to bring some much needed relief to these families. if you'd
5:55 pm
like to donate to the families featured in the separate sewed skin either of these q.r. codes here using your dash while on the next stop of the pilgrimage steven finds me . and our heroes get acquainted with the monumental piece of history that's. what is this i love it i mean her decided we're going to try to travel the road in something i figured why not restore this old bus now that's postponed. it'll end up in the scribe your book for a worry about that before i also read it so if i were to check for two grand now. that's sound interesting to you always yeah. i mean really really deal absolutely all right. really.
5:56 pm
virgos never great was founded on the rapes and murders. nothing changed so we said all response to these situations that we're dealing with. people here is sad every other day she is just sad people kill each other blood for killing children. so it was just no way that people are going to just sit back and allow children to be shot down law enforcement. this country doesn't work for us it doesn't function for us. this this can't be happening in america we call from the streets we've got to deal with why this is a reason i have to rat like this is
5:57 pm
a reason. when a loved one is murder it's natural to seek the death penalty for the murder i would prefer and it means to me death penalty just because i think that's the fair thing the right thing research shows that for every nine executions one convict just found innocent the idea that we were executing innocent people is terrifying the is just no really hasn't been that we want even many of the times families want the death penalty to be abolished the reason we have to keep to get kelly here is because that's what murder victims' families want that's going to give them peace and it's going to give them justice and we come in saying. not quite enough we've been through this this isn't the way.
5:58 pm
i've been saying the numbers mean something they've matter to us of which one true . in dollars and debt more than ten thousand dollars fine tempting each day. eighty five percent of global wealth you longs to the ultra rich eight point six percent market saw thirty percent lies last year some with four hundred to five hundred three per second per second and bitcoin rose to twenty thousand dollars. china is building two point one billion dollars a i industrial park but don't but the numbers overwhelms. the only numbers you need to remember one one business shows you can afford to miss the one and only. finally into the null set of extended atlanta now has a little bit on talent people find about. finding

a family of you would it be that easy to find a town that out and may. be a plus is that going to take place the city people whom they didn't play but i thought it might have been my little bit of a budget but not that i little bit that i'd accept that out of money going to know about much of that away but some are not going to get bought and played today and one day it's like lose lose some borders of the. player see. you can be no public place .

i don't think. and the stories that shaped the way here are not tantamount to torture that russia describes the conditions in which the u.s. is holding the king. we speak. very difficult situation a bit particularly for someone like her someone who i don't think ever envisioned spending a day in jail or a life to be you know it's a pretty tough sell it. pulls us to tensions get worse as anchor of one's relations have come to a complete home. and the syrian city of one of the worst hit by the war is undergoing extensive reconstruction after years of conflict.
