lots of auto news will be joined by our friends the c.e.o. all of the stocks melissa are mo and we've met with so many great an interesting entrepreneur is in boston at the forbes under thirty's some of these last few days but we didn't have time to bring them all to you we'll show you one of those today about an interesting startup that is literally out of this world all that directly ahead but first we get to some headlines let's go. the u.s. government has been ordered by the united nations international court of justice to lift sanctions on iran that would have interfered with the importation of humanitarian aid the court ruled today that the u.s. government must lift the sanctions that impact iran's ability to import things like food medicine and even airline hearts the court said that any limiting of things like food and medicine would have a serious impact on the health of the people who live in iran while the sanctions on airline and aviation parts would endanger their own air safety and speaking of

critical of the p.m.'s leadership related to brecht's that some have said ms may is incapable of delivering bricks that it would take forty eight of the current three hundred seventeen conservative members of parliament to sure going to election contest according to current party rules. and what it would be the biggest u.s. initial public offering this year is by a chinese company ten cent music entertainment is planning an i.p.o. the company is currently valued by some at roughly twelve billion dollars while only starting in twenty sixteen ten cent music has been a large benefactor of the growth in streaming that has remodeled the music industry there are more than eight hundred million users a ten cents app q-q. music and its karaoke counterpart app the company has reported revenues recently from last year totaling one point six six billion dollars with a profit of one hundred ninety nine million an increase of two million over twenty

saudi arabia has recently launched a brand new industry in an attempt to turn around their struggling economy and appeal to make up more than half of the saudi population dubbed by some as the quote fun industry it's taking place at the same time as the crackdown by the prince mohammed bin solomon m.b.'s on dissenters the latest victim maybe a journalist who disappeared after entering the saudi consulate in istanbul turkey her to sort it all out as conservative t.v. and radio commentator steve malzberg steve welcome let's start with that missing saudi journalist from the washington post. who was over there i guess he was getting a marriage license or something but what happened to him and what about the others who have been critical of prince m.b.'s while he was a staunch supporter of the prince and the government until last november when there
8:35 am
was a crackdown it happened basically in a couple of days eleven members of the royal family including many cousins of the prince were taken into custody as were business leaders clerics educators intellectuals mostly in saudi arabia but some in other arab countries and then he started criticizing that move and writing about saudi arabia so he left the country a self-imposed exile he wrote a lot of pieces for the washington post criticizing the the moves by the prince and yesterday he went in for the second time from what i hear to go get a marriage certificate at the stamboul inestimable the saudi consulate the first time they told him come back a week later he went back yesterday never came out there are reports unconfirmed that he's been seen in saudi arabia so he may have been kidnapped and taken back to saudi arabia so this is what the prince is doing and has done over the past year at the same time trying to or claiming to open. up the society yes really seems like
8:36 am
an oxymoron over there and we certainly want to keep and eye on it and it really is just opposed to what we were initially going to talk about steve about this new entertainment industry opening up in the saudi society and there is some sort of opportunities that have never existed before what's going on stephen why. well it's called vision twenty thirty and the prince's said he wants to make millennial is happy he also wants to bring in outside investment and create more jobs because the economy is struggling since two thousand and fourteen when crude oil went south they've had to raise taxes cut subsidies so what he's doing here there's a first movie theater has opened in riyadh in thirty years they have black panther there's cirque du soleil a there's concerts there's comic con there's an entertainment center twice the size of disney world with six flags amusement park in there so there's concerts in the
8:37 am
street so that's what they're doing they're trying to modernize and open up society through entertainment and the stated purpose is to help millennial is to keep them happy and keep them employed it's a remarkable you know as you were you were telling me earlier on the phone the you know half of the population are millennial so i mean when you look around the world at demographics that's going to be one of those outliers there that there's so many of these young people that the prince is trying to appeal to right that yes however one third of the millennial is in the country are unemployed and they're not happy with what's going on most of the millennial is in that country did not go study abroad they were not exposed to this kind of entertainment that the prince wants to now bring home to make them comfortable here they don't know about that therefore religion is one hobby ism to a great extent they think this is happening too fast and they resent that subsidies are being given to have concerts and build movie theaters when subsidies to them
8:38 am
which they've been relying on to live comfortably are being taken away and cut back they're also not happy about the fact that you know as i said more risque kind of movies and and cirque du soleil a are now infiltrating the country if you will so it's not pleasing the majority of millennial even though that was the goal you know and i. want to head back just briefly steve to the dissenters and talk about stuff that we actually discussed earlier in the year about when all these folks were rounded up including ministers in the government and c.e.o.'s they were all jailed if you can call staying at the ritz carlton jail but what we've seen now sort of is reminiscent of that earlier in the year isn't it absolutely and you know this this case this this abduction if that's what it did what it turns out to be is something that really needs to be looked at and you can't forget the people and you can't fool the world. one hand
8:39 am
you're trying to say we're a more open society look women can now drive with some limitations and look we have movie theaters and we have this and we have that but you're still rounding up people who dissent and speak ill of the government or the present so that people in power you can't fool anybody so you know saudi arabia is at a crossroads right now they have better relations with the united states for various reasons and there is a push to open up the society more and to an extent they're doing it but if you do it at the same time that you're jailing dissidents it's not a not a full and fair opening so to speak there's a lot more work to be done where you've certainly given us a full and fair airing of the issues steve malzberg conservative t.v. and radio thanks a lot steve great to see you my pleasure bart. and the trumpet ministration is claim that the problem with chinese imports and the threat to the u.s. is from high technology but as artie's dan cohen reports that's not the major area
8:40 am
of import here's dan. trump administration officials have pointed to chinese advances in high tech to justify the trade war in tariffs but the real competition from china is in its ability to export medium level technology that includes items like vehicles in their parts and electrical and construction machinery china has now surpassed the united states and european union as the dominant producer in medium high tech industries in just the past decade its global share has nearly tripled to thirty two percent much of that is a result of privatisation for example china's share of global bulldozer exports grew nearly eight percent in the last decade the share of chinese exports going to countries outside the organization for economic cooperation and development the list of developed economies has grown from forty three to forty eight percent in the same period china has emphasized exporting capital goods which are used to
8:41 am
manufacture other goods rather than simply relying on consumer products for instance china's global exports and electrical transformers and their components has doubled to twenty percent in the last ten years china has also benefited from the two thousand and eight financial crisis picking up where western companies left off chinese white goods producers who make home appliances like washing machines and refrigerators have exported fifteen billion dollars worth in two thousand and sixteen while manufacturing wages in the us have fallen in the last decade average wages in china's manufacturing sector have more than tripled in the same period china's investment boom after the financial crisis enabled producers of industrial goods to hugely expand domestic production multinational corporations have also played a big role in china's growing exports forty three percent came from foreign invested companies and twenty seventeen the figures are even higher for high tech products like laptops and smartphones companies such as general electric chemical makers
8:42 am
b.s.f. and honeywell have open sophisticated plants in. china in the past decade sending jobs overseas from the united states while china was once a final assembly point for foreign made components domestic content of china's exports have risen from about sixty percent a decade ago to about eighty percent today so while trump administration officials claim china has an unfair advantage its export machine only continues to grow reporting in washington dan cohen r t. and time now for a quick break but hang here because when we return we'll be joined by the c.e.o. of the. arm to discuss today's trading record it was up above twenty twenty seven thousand intraday but down to about twenty six eight twenty eight right now plus there's new auto news we'll take a look at a few car company stocks as well and we'll bring you an interview from the ford's under under thirty summit this one is truly out of this world and as we go to break
8:43 am
we'll be right back in a flash. the way to the united states is dangerous for most of the illegal immigrants. just as there was a simple i want you. and i want the last on this but i have many of them look for refuge in the so-called sentry sides of the dresser used to share information about undocumented migrants with federal authorities the best person as they are. listening to point out. that i guess i'm in a lot of class and i want. to stay in the country with donald trump in the white house. to be that the.

eleven percent higher than the average cost in other g. twenty nations in addition to the big four banks regulators will be examining as part of the probe pay pal western union and travel x. . we had a super exciting time in boston earlier this week at the forbes under thirty summit and we met some inspiring entrepreneur is one of them avery haskell i spoke with yesterday about his out of this world idea to open up outer space to travel he geared up for our interview in his space suit and i ask him to explain what his company shuttle does to get you into orbit. so shuttle is the world's first commercial space flight booking platform our mission is to open space up to everyone so i started shuttle because space is the coolest thing ever and it's the future of humanity i've been fascinated by space since i was

a little kid and there's currently unmet demand for space travel with more and more people spending on experiences and there's an increasing number of space like tourism companies popping up doing things like spacewalks hotels events and more so we partner with the leading space flight transportation operators like virgin galactic space adventures the russian space agency zero gravity orion span and more and we have a marketplace platform. can discover and purchase commercial space flight tickets on our website as a business avery when do you plan to launch your business what's the timeframe so zero g. flights are taking off right now and they've taken over seven thousand customers into zero gravity. space adventures in the russian federation have been taking people to space since the ninety's and virgin galactic is going is going to be launching at the end of this year or beginning of next year and blue origin is expected to launch next year so currently there's been one point five billion dollars in sales for the commercial space market and by twenty thirty it's expected to be a one hundred billion dollars market is your competition out there or for booking
8:52 am
of these sorts of things going to space yes so companies like virgin galactic have existing resellers like travel agents but they're really these offline brokers are sort of the first foray into the space travel market and have been around in the same form for over a hundred years and so we're bringing in bringing a modern approach to building an online marketplace to give people access to space travel and what are the travel options i mean can i go on and book spaceflight right now yes we have flights launching every month into zero gravity from all around the world and then we have flights we have things like charters where you can take a whole rocket and do things like go to the international space station do a spacewalk you can go to a hotel for two weeks and see a space sunrise every thirty minutes so we have a lot of different options we have for weddings different events like that well that's a pretty wide variety of things going up there for a couple of weeks and how much does this cost of the going to be a lot the average ticket price is two hundred fifty thousand dollars for
8:53 am
a virgin galactic ticket but our flight started only five thousand dollars for zero gravity and they go all the way up to one hundred million i've been asking this question a lot here at the forbes under thirty's summit particularly for people are sort of visionary on this what's your vision for the future avery so the big vision for shuttle is to offer space as a service where we have subscriptions in various tiers where we offer our customers subscription access. to get on demand access to space travel and we'll do this by working with our existing partners and chartering renting leasing or purchasing rockets so that our customers can get the amount of access to space that they need for their business or personal use. that was a c.e.o. and founder of shuttle aber a haskell who told me with like this huge smile that lee will be taking his first celestial trip to zero gravity before the end of the year. and our time has flown by like a comet that's it for now thanks for being on board you can always catch boom bust on direct t.v. channel three twenty one dish network channel two eighty or streaming twenty four
