a scathing attack on teresa mayes breaks it cleanses the british prime minister battles to win them over ahead of a true. russian military experts say toxic substances were used in an assault on aleppo in syria on saturday we'll look at why the world's media has largely ignored this chemical attack. good evening thanks for joining us this is r.t. and. russia's border security force has issued new details into sunday's clash with ukraine in the cat strait which brought the two sides close to conflict the captain of one of the detained ukrainian ships admits that he consciously ignored the commands of russia's border control to stop. the russian federal security service is review. eld new details chronologically as to what happened on

sunday in the streets of curch they said that they detected the ukrainian naval flotilla early on heading into russian territorial waters they were warned that if they intend to cross the street of curch as they well knew as they had done previously that they should send notification of their intent to cross the street it's a busy place there's a lot of ships tankers merchantman fishing vessels waiting queuing to cross through a narrow archway under a bridge at the verge safety concerns there's this queues there's lines and there's a procedure in place of followed through a number of times the less the ukrainians stormed on ahead than a captain himself the captain of the naval philatelic said he was aware that his orders were provoked as if but they were his orders. i'm going to melissa morey commander of the navy division of the grain and military forces were answered the

code straight after crossing the russian border we had visual contact with the russian border service vessels i consciously ignored their commands to stop and when i would vote we had small arms and a machine gun with ammunition i was aware that the action of the ukrainian vessels in because straits would provoke it if i was following my orders to move our ships from the portal for this to a miracle. furthermore the russian federal security service revealed that on board the vessels of the ukrainian flag below the s.b.u. offices that is ukrainian intelligence agents so this crossing seemingly wasn't just the ordinary re stationing of naval assets but rather a special operation it seems with a mission overseen by intelligence agents if indeed the case perhaps the mission was to give the president a reason justification for the implementation of martial law as he has done. the

situation has raised its concern among western countries the un security council is held to emergency sessions of the clash killam open explains well instead of having one meeting we are having to do emergency sessions of the un security council the first meeting was called by russia the second one called on behalf of ukraine now during the first meeting we did hear from the representative of russia he accused the forces in the security council the western partners of essential acting like overgrown toddlers and focusing on which resolutions to vote for calling a different meeting and not really focusing on resulting the tension and resolving the situation out furthermore he argued that essentially of the provocative actions from ukraine serve a political purpose which to put the person person goes ratings are extremely low but the elections are not so far away so how do you hold on to power his team really needs a serious exacerbation of the situation and ideally

a war the necessary next portion of the anti russian drug so that people in the country believe that all their troubles but you to russia now at this second session we did hear from the western countries that we did hear kind of a familiar song from the united states from the u.k. from poland from france all of them accusing russia. of being an aggressor and wanting to annex more territory this is their remarks russia decided to prevent passage of the ukrainian ships rammed them and then open fire on them yesterday's action follows months of russian harassment of international shipping in a series of nothing in our opinion justifies this use of force russia must immediately cease its unlawful conduct russia's actions must stop immediately prior to the security council meeting the russian foreign ministry was asked what their expectations were they said essentially said that they really had no illusions that
3:06 pm
they expected that regardless of the facts they present before the council that they would fall on deaf ears and essentially the same script would be repeated and it seems that the prediction we heard from the russian foreign ministry has turned out to be correct. let's bring in republican senator for virginia richard black joins me on the line good to have you all richard we've outlined a story here i think an interesting point is that ukrainian ships apparently this is how it's reported to coding to the russian side ignored the orders of the border guards and tried to pass through under the bridge anyway and yet the situation that we see the u.n. security council really rounded on russia is surprising for you. well it doesn't surprise me that the united nations. is not very deliberative it's supposed to be a deliberative body but. everyone has rushed to judgment without being able to
3:07 pm
examine the facts of the situation. i think there is some possibility that both sides were asserting rights obviously now that crimea is part of russia. russia needs to assert its sovereignty at the same time there is a two thousand and three treaty that still is in effect that allows ukraine to to trance it through this very important strait and so to some extent i think perhaps it is possible that the ukrainians were also trying to assert their rights under that treaty so so both sides may have a certain amount of merit to their claims yes and as you say that it feels that the claims to be made by both sides you would think that that would lead to some kind
3:08 pm
of deliberation he said that's what the security council should be that what you think they will listen to the information put across by russia as to what happened or is it just a stick with which to to big people they've decided though to blame. well the one good thing the united nations does is that it does give the opportunity to both sides to explain their positions and hopeful ways some members of the press will pick up and you know and present both sides of the argument. certainly certainly russia has very valid. claims and perhaps i think the ukraine may have some some some issues too but the fact that the united nations jumps to conclusions without examining the facts is not encouraging but at least there is an opportunity for the claims to be
3:09 pm
presented speaking of claims we have a claim from accounts in of one of the detained ukrainian ships that it was a conscious decision to cross the border and ignore the warnings and an admission that the actions were provoked if the if that's all true what reason does the ukrainian side have for doing something like this. i think it's my understanding that the disk very important straight had been temporarily. that transit had trunk temporarily been suspended i'm not sure for what period and so it is conceivable that that they were simply asserting their rights under the treaty but at the same time it does seem unduly provocative it seems like they could have they could have raised that issue at the security
3:10 pm
council and said hey look. why why has the access been suspended we know there's a lot of construction though there's this vast new bridge has been constructed it's a very narrow and very complex area and so the the russians quite legitimately may have had very very valid reasons for temporarily suspending trance it through that area and i think i think the ukrainians were perhaps a bit reckless and perhaps. perhaps there was an intention to create a provocation i don't count that out at all we do know that president poroshenko has eighty percent disapproval ratings he's up for reelection in twenty nineteen and i ran across something in the financial times from back in september and said
3:11 pm
that something must be done to change the narrative if he's to have a chance of reelection and if you look at it this incident changes the narrative and the declaration of martial law which he has proposed would also change the narrative so i don't discount the fact that that this may have been. and tied into the twenty nine ukraine or the twenty nineteen ukrainian elections now porche and co are sure of nato that he did not intend the martial law to to suspend any any domestic. movement forward which presumably would include the elections but. that remains to be saying you imposed this you get people riled up and then perhaps you are
3:12 pm
extended and and then perhaps the elections never occur at all which would be ideal for her shankar because. it seems that he is certainly at risk of of not being reelected so i don't i don't discount the possibility that this may have been a very carefully prepared provocation in order to advance his prospects for reelection in twenty night it certainly makes sense when you put it that some people watching will say well you know you kind of speculating that but can you give an alternative argument it seems like a very radical move there's a disputes in waters close close by crimea and suddenly martial law is imposed what's the logical explanation for imposing martial law in this situation. we you know the odd thing is that martial law from my experience has been imposed
3:13 pm
to do it reestablish domestic control but not for foreign affairs how many times do you hear of warfare breaking out between nations where the nations declare martial law i'm just not sure of that but i think it's. often martial law is imposed for domestic purposes and so. it's rather peculiar because it does raise the question what exactly does he hope to attain by having a period of martial law that supposedly will only last for thirty days it creates a great deal of hype a great deal of you know headlines but what substances really accomplish but i do think that it lays the groundwork for sort of. creation of a. sort of hysteria from which it might be possible to further
3:14 pm
extend the martial law and to block the elections are those which is great speak to appreciate your time as always send us a full virginia richard black my guest good to be with you. moving on to other news now the day after leaders agreed to endorse the brig's it deal to resume a house being a back in a row in parliament trying to win of a skeptical and peace to face a massive challenge though over the next two weeks to win around the many down to the head of the december eleventh and to see a chicken reports from london. the british prime minister's schedule has been jam packed recently as she tries to save face and see her bracks a deal and as she describes it get on with it despite being met with lots and lots of resistance back home following being in brussels this weekend for the e.u. summit where she did in fact see e.u.
3:15 pm
leaders indorse her bracks a deal she's now back home in westminster and facing the house of commons and this is where her mean adversary is out the moment because despite presenting them today with a statement on leaving the view and answering their questions on hours on end it remains clear that for now m.p.'s are not showing very many signs of being ready to let her off the hook easily when it comes to this deal are to choose a parliament over these coming weeks is to examine this deal in detail to debate it respectfully there could be no joe this deal would leave us with the worst of all worlds how come the prime minister expect the house to vote to put the country in such a weak position. we have no idea where this is heading why can't people actually have the chance to have
3:16 pm
their say in a people's vote if you really trust them she would do it the prime minister on the whole house knows the mathematics this will never get through she's not going to get a majority in this house for this deal because it would leave the british people worse off giving up control or not taking back that. well look time is certainly ticking the pressure is piling up as we expect a so-called meaningful vote to take place at the house of commons that date has now been set for december eleventh and this vote will show of the world really if the last endless mom of torture of negotiations to try to get a deal on the table had been worth it or whether or not it's more chaos is yet to come. radio host john gold thinks treason may face is an impossible task getting parliament's approval i think she's got a very real sugar cube eight they're not going to back it so that's
3:17 pm
a ten vote vote they keep trees main power at the moment i thought of the window which generally called one percent labor will not vote for tories both direction remain as well i think the commons will reject it i think should have no choice them but to resign this isn't the breaks that we've voted for no matter which side you're on and so sure asian she's got him a possible task she's going to fail in my being. russian chemical experts have confirmed an attack carried out saturday night on the syrian city of aleppo involved toxic substances dozens of victims remain in hospital some of them are in a critical condition. like something is burning inside and my eyes are hurting while i'm with you or the hunted look of year in the morning at breakfast i looked at hamza and realized that there's something wrong with him he said that he had a stomach ache so i took him back to the hospital but the case has drawn far less
3:18 pm
attention in the international media than previous chemical attacks did what he's done of takes a look at the reasons why. a hospital rush oxygen masks scared and confused children pictures of an aftermath of an alleged chemical attack in hunchy who last year instantly became a catalyst for a media big bang these graphic images posted online by activists and people who live in the area killed victims many of them children drug going to children. foaming at the mouth. suffering convulsions being carried in the arms of desperate parents the gag on the gasp and the frantic efforts to save lives these images from it with syria range world leaders on tuesday at the united nations calls for information and accountability in what diplomats said could be a war crime the russian government is denying any involvement in

a suspected chemical attack in syria that has a lot of dozens of people dead including many children this comes after witnesses said they saw people collapsing to the ground this time reports of a chlorine attack in aleppo. so an emergency check ambulance sirens check. and uncertainty in children's eyes check the media reaction was this russia has accused syrian rebel fighters of firing shells filled with chlorine gas into the city of aleppo syria and russia accused opposition fighters of carrying out a toxic gas attack so hold on what. what happened there were as outreach workers this carousel of condemnation and shaming by the world's most powerful like the united states we believe it is highly likely that attack was carried out by the assad regime. it looks
3:20 pm
a lot like this attack was done by the side regime that is truly an evil person this is an animal well the difference is aleppo is under the control of the syrian government has been for years now slowly but surely clearing out its streets of rubble trying to piece back together normality the chances that animal assad gave orders to slaughter the innocent is let's say slim hence it's worth a mention maybe but not much more i want to read to read here is that france does condemned the use of chemical weapons whatever. the uses are they don't care because the targets coming from the wrong side as it were if you check the mainstream media coverage globally it's a nonevent you know if you also check the so-called opposition media in syria of course they are saying the world that it could be
3:21 pm
a plot by the regime no surprise there before how easy and convenient into wars to instantly pin the blame on the baddest of the bad guys now when the alleged hit potentially just potentially could be ordered by your former allies who you had given out millions of dollars worth of aid yeah let's not rush to any conclusions. we could into the russian defense ministry dozens of people including children were taken to hospital after the aleppo attack he says the nighttime assault was carried out from an area controlled by an al qaida linked group in neighboring province militant commanders denied any involvement and insists they don't have chemical weapons. on the list syria's foreign ministry is calling on the un to condemn and to punish the militants involved as well as the countries that finance them we spoke to people were walking there as a freelance journalist in aleppo who told us about the aftermath of the attack. now

knows where. we thought lots of people until seeing and people spoke aging it's pretty bad people coming from everywhere. every day the situation is still really bad so that is still receiving rockets still receiving most. explosive bullets people can get injured it's not the first time that we can recall with them they used during the battle for the project that we just same kind of weapons basically it's really hard to imagine that everything is going to start again that everything is going to happen again in the same way with leave to worse until now and we are ready for whatever is going to. the u.k. government funded organization which influences political and public opinion about alleged malign russian entities has reacted to it recently of its documents the trove was posted online by the hacking group anonymous last week from to the integrity initiative to issue a statement political explains well integrity initiative has finally replied it's
3:23 pm
taken them a while because artie first spoke about this story last week but regionally these documents were leaked at the start of the month and the statement talks about the organization itself that it's an international public program that was set up back in twenty fifteen in order to counter disinfo mation and malign influence and also the fact that it's funded by the u.k. foreign office or at least it has been for the past two years before that its money came from private grants and in relation to the leaked documents specific case the group said that it's a matter of deep regret that they were stolen take a listen to what they had to say in more detail we've not yet had the chance to analyze all of the documents so cannot say with confidence whether they were all genuine whether they include doctored or false material though it is clear that much of the material is dated and was never used so you can see the great distance
3:24 pm
. seeing itself from the leak don't keep saying they're not sure if they're genuine they haven't had time to verify whether they're all real and they also point out that a lot of the documents contain sensitive contact details some of people that they were actually considering getting in touch with but hadn't got in touch with the now faced with the headache of contacting these people and explaining about this data breach even though they've had essentially nothing to do with the group so clearly not very happy about this leak and just to refresh your memory in regards to the original story the hack documents have pared through the anonymous hacking website they got their hands on this trove of classified documents that they say proves that the u.k. foreign office is funding this sort of anti russia campaign and as we saw in the statement that the group says that its sole purpose is to counter this information and as a result inevitably that means dealing with

a lot of stuff to do with russia where they claim a lot of dissent from ation comes from and just to give you an example of the sort of campaigns that the group. conducts according to these leaked documents you may have heard allegations the russia has was meddling in the catalonian independence referendum for example well that story may have been helped along by integrity initiative by this group how well a journalist after lated to the group originally posted that story after that other mainstream media organizations started talking about it as well so that for you is how the system appears to be working that is just one example and of course it's all conducted under the banner of. of saving democratic institutions preventing the. thread of descent from

a thirty year old man in our math class runs now facing deportation with the home office investigating the case. he entered britain under the name itself students found out on his facebook profile that he'd actually been an architecture student in iran that was before they moved to germany also they discovered pictures of him with a full beard drinking beer on student said that told him he was married with two children. and we put the issue up for debate. should have been there in the first place it's a clear failure of the border services it's a clear failure of the education system especially when the the train supposedly highly trained border agencies allowed him to come through through the process put him into a school if there are genuine refugees out there there is a process that they have to follow they have to be screened and they have to have a look at those background checks and i'm pretty certain. the authorities will be

looking into this in in more detail to see where their feelings of happened the difference if you like between stephen myself is that i think immigration supporting refugees is a good think it's value to our societies in riches communities i think it is asylum for the lot of the hundred we're not against asylum seekers clearly we're not against asylum sciri and we're not against immigration that's a really wrong don't and not against us really worrying is that a thirty year old man has got into a school and put those children at risk on the last report sixty five percent of those questioned a second time over their age was found to be over eighteen and the equator around four hundred eight the last week or so was four hundred eight people that's four hundred eight possibilities of a. let's get that into context these are people who have lied to deliberately get in the country and we don't know quite ground and there is a possibility i think if i hold at least i'm not doing their job from line to be
