politicking on larry king on tuesday america's top intelligence officials easy of whom was chosen for the job by president drummed publicly split with the president in their congressional testimony about the biggest threats to america's security it's important to remember that u.s. policy is often based on their assessments of our intelligence agencies donald from blasts of the intel cheeses naive extremely passive and wrong so he's not listening to them who's the president losing to for his information on global threats we studied there with old friend bill richardson former u.s. ambassador to the united nations former democratic governor of new mexico he also served as secretary of energy during the administration of bill clinton. instead of the new mexico well what do you make bill between the contradiction
10:31 pm
between the intel chiefs and the president. well this is unprecedented a president not listening to his own intelligence people the intelligence people or those that provides facts to policymakers like the president like the secretary of state department of defense cia it's incredible that he won't listen that he is just listening to his gut instinct which is not based on facts our intelligence people i have budgets over twenty two billion dollars they have satellites spies they have drones they have all kinds of ways to obtain information and the president is denying the information that goes to high government officials i've never seen this and it is something that is very disturbing because then it shows the president is not prepared. he goes into these summits with kim jong un or putin
10:32 pm
or dealing with issues like iran and many others he's basing it on his gut instinct which is not based on fact that's not good and of he's not listening to the people he picked. listening to. well thankfully the national security advisor the secretary of state hopefully the secretary of defense they're the ones in charge of the negotiations with north korea it's secretary of state pompei o on iran it seems that john bolton the national security adviser is dealing with that on syria it's all kinds of intelligence officials but here the president took our troops out of syria they haven't gone out yet. they're trying to walk that back that was a very bad decision the president then says that with north korea things are going
10:33 pm
very well when kim jong un as done very little north korean terms of reducing their nuclear arsenal as they did and then the president with iran is saying that they are not complying with the nuclear accord and they had a cia says that they are so who knows who he's listening to i don't think he's listening to anybody it's his own pre-formed convictions and they are wrong they are not fact based. despite the all the talk of the like not one of these gentlemen ladies talked about building a wall what do you make of this whole thing. well you know this government shutdown over a wall was a very sad chapter in our history. eight hundred thousand americans that work in the federal government didn't get a paycheck for thirty five years thousands of businesses states like mine suffered
10:34 pm
because of this and our intelligence people are also saying if you look at their testimony yesterday or whenever they testified that there is not an imminent national security danger that justifies a wall yes we do need more detection equipment more border patrol agencies more at border crossings you know larry i was a border governor. illegal immigration has declined in the last few years yes some of these caravans are coming in but they are now applying for asylum so this statement that it's a parallel a national security emergency is not again fact based that there are four thousand terrorists coming through the border these are women and children this is a sad chapter and it may be repeated again on february fifteenth when the deadline
10:35 pm
for a new shut down will calm or of a declares a national emergency. well that first of all is not needed and it will be challenge in the courts by the congress because nasa is you're bypassing the congress and i was a member of congress and one of the problems is that whenever you shift money or you appropriate money and we're talking about five point seven billion that the president wants to move you have to get approval from congress so i think eventually if he declares a national emergency which it is not it will be turned back by the courts even the supreme court. you think you'll ever get a wall. no i don't think he'll ever get the kind of wall that he wants he may get some more barriers some more electrical equipment. hopefully he will see what is really needed more coast guard resources to stop
10:36 pm
shipments from the water more border patrol agencies more detection equipment in the air more drones that will be what is needed for stopping illegal immigration not a wall people will go under the wall up over the wall it is not needed and there's parts of the west larry the borders where there are mountainous regions you're going to trample into the land rights of native americans of ranchers of wildlife it doesn't make sense he wants to please his base of about thirty percent of the american people and he doesn't want to expand and represent all of us moderates democrats others that are part of this country. you are an election observer invented in two thousand and fourteen when madeira was elected the united states is now calling for him to step down was your reaction. well i think here's
10:37 pm
where the administration has taken the right steps they're putting pressure on maduro who has been elected illegally after that first election of the country is in dire straits is falling apart he's terrorizing his own people they're very they're hungry the venezuelan economy is collapsing i think by us recognizing the opposition leader in the assembly and venezuela was a courageous bald move that now is shook up monday or now he still has the support of the military and our objective should be free and fair elections supervised by the military but it could be. we bloody there and i worry that we've taken the right diplomatic steps by getting other countries in latin america to support us in recognizing this new young leader after the opposition and menace well i was
10:38 pm
divided but i worry that we keep talking about military intervention that doesn't work in latin america larry we should protect our diplomats and are there our personnel and if it takes some kind of military action we should use that to protect them but not to take over and invade venezuela that would not be smart russia china and support the door oh why. because russia has a lot of funs a lot of investments a lot of energy investments and they want to hurt us in latin america china because china generally follows russia and has enormous investments in latin america and venezuela and turkey i think it's because of our differences on syria on the kurds impetuous leadership by airline i think that's why that coalition is happening the big question mark larry is mexico mexico should be
10:39 pm
supporting us and they're kind of very passive that's a major country in latin america but we have brazil we have colombia we have many other countries argentina the organization of american states that are supporting us so what the president has done is gone multilateral getting other countries to help us instead of saying we're going to go alone that's a change in policy but that's a right thing to do what do you make of the upcoming summit the second one big screen conjunction and the president do you expect much to come of it. well the president has good negotiators he's got a guy named steven begun who i've met who's a special envoy for north korea i think the president needs to listen to begun and to pump arrow and say to the north koreans look you've done nothing in terms of
10:40 pm
very little denuclearizing after the first summit you got a lot of world prestige with the summit handshake but you have done very little except return some of the remains of our soldiers which is important but when it's comes to missiles fissile material nuclear weapons they've done very little yes there's less tension in the region and i commend the president for the first summit for its. epting it but he's letting the north koreans off the hook with very few commitments on denuclearization which the north koreans said they would do i'm worried that they're going to develop their continuing as our intelligence people said more missiles more fissile material expanding their nuclear arsenal japan is very worried so i'm concerned that they're going to develop more technology that eventually could hit our cities in continental united states i
10:41 pm
worry larry what he expect of the new trade talks between the united states and china. the deadline is early march and i hope we have a breakthrough i would put money sixty forty that there will be some kind of a breakthrough the north the chinese have to do more on intellectual property rights and stealing our technology. and they have to commit to buying more of our manufacturing our energy they engage in a lot of unfair trade practices and i think they're they're getting pressured their economy is not exactly doing very well but i want them to stay with us on north korea china keeps the sanctions on north korea they're right on their border and i worry that if we have this continued tension with china it's not only going to continue to hurt our economy our industries are especially agriculture but it's
10:42 pm
going to drive china way from helping us with north korea so i think i have a gut instinct that something good will come out i hope so you need to bill thanks via done today. thank you thank you larry bill richardson we'll have more politicking right after the break. aeroflot russian and lights. you know world a big part of the new digs a lot and conspiracy it's time to wake up to dig deeper to hit the stories that
10:43 pm
mainstream media refuses to tell more than ever we need to be smarter we need to stop slamming the door on the bats and shouting past each other it's time for critical thinking it's time to fight for the middle for the truth the time is now for watching closely watching the hawks. and. their of russian and lights. i think the one of them i am a reason why now we're working as
10:44 pm
a compliant nationalist but is this because the date is a little different organization compared to the previous issue in osogbo shore so still. fifteen. to all previous q so. it's one of the best in the national incident and just in the. back of politicking turning now to our political panel there chris wilson he was director of research and digital strategy ted cruz is twenty sixteen presidential campaign he's in washington and in chattanooga tennessee brian joyce host of the
10:45 pm
brian joyce show on talk radio airing on w g w. and the president and the intelligence community. having markedly different conclusions about the state of the world who do you believe chris well i think you have to look at the specifics of what the president said he disagreed with that let's face it the same intelligence community and parts of it that were politicized and really weaponized under the obama administration so that is really what the president is having issues with and if you look at his comments what he took issue with was there worldwide threats assessment and that threat assessment labeled the president of iran who is a holocaust denier as a moderate i mean i think it is really difficult for any of us who are serious people to look at someone who's a holocaust denier and somehow say that person is a modern even if they're coming from middle eastern country so it is it's not as if he was completely dismissive of every part of the report it was the specific aspects it was written as if it was taking issue with the president point out of the iran deal and almost one who had an axe to grind on that so who i believe on
10:46 pm
this i have to say when i look at what the president took issue with specific to that threat assessment i have to say i agree with the president on it. brian. larry i would say if there is one thing about donald trump that should concern even republicans it would be this rift with our intelligence community time after time after time for two years now while this president has been in office he has repeatedly either denied or just straight up a lie or made up facts about our security and our national security he did this with north korea when he says the threat of north korea is over our intelligence community immediately comes back and says that is not the case he says isis is defeated our intelligence community a mediately comes back and says this is not the case regardless of this particular intelligence report this president has been doing this for two years this should be a major concern to the republican party because last i checked larry it's the republican party who is always boasting about how they are the party of law and order thirty agencies do they protect us from terror and to have
10:47 pm
a president of the white house who denies everything they say is not very helpful to reduce susan earlier and i assume i'll ask you if the president is not listening to the people that he picked to run american intelligence. who could is listening to well i don't think it's quite fair to say that he's not listening to them i think there are aspects of it and he only took really issue with specific parts of this report and i would i would really challenge anyone to look at the issue the parts that he took issue with and disagree with that i think they were fair assessments and fair criticisms of them and i'm only speaking of this one this this specific situation because i do think there is there is a difference of opinion between specific aspects of obama appointees within obama employees within the intelligence community and the iran deal that which they were supportive of and the president pull us out of and so that is really the aspect of what is i think the specific current resits going on between the two of them and it
10:48 pm
was a listen to i think is listening to his military advisors here in which they believe that iran is a threat to our will they believe that iran does still control by proxy several terrorist part abortion's of the middle east and civically those that are moving into israel and which this worldwide threat assessment tried to downplay and i think that is a complete misreading of the situation in the middle east and i think i've got to be honest with you larry i don't think he's listening to his security advisers and i don't think he's listening to his military generals i think is listening to fox and friends and i know i know that sounds like a joke i'm not joking i think this president wakes up every morning he turns on fox and friends and that's where he gets his foreign policy i mean i would never say that about any other president republican or democrat but i just i've been observing this for two years now there's no rhyme or reason to anything the president says there's no rhyme or reason to any of his approach whether it's north korea whether it's isis whether it's any of the issues in the middle east i think he literally just wakes up he sees what's trending on fox and friends because we
10:49 pm
know he watches fox news all day long and tweets about it and i think that's where he's getting his talking points and his policy. disturb you. well i think it's a great line but it's not accurate if you look at where i get in the specifics of what he is discussing today and what we're talking about here is issue with the worldwide threat assessment i don't think that's coming from i believe that is coming directly from military advisors and i think this is just i mean this is the kind of situation where i think it's unfortunate to incite concerns here whenever you look at the difference of opinion that exist pacifically again to this situation the middle east pacific to iran to see to the president of iran through to pulling out the iran nuclear deal and those are legitimate criticisms that i actually happen to share his concerns there. switching topics federal government is now open the clock is ticking toward a deadline what's going to happen. i couldn't tell you larry what's going to happen i mean i wouldn't necessarily have predicted the
10:50 pm
last government shutdown this idea about building a wall and first we were going to have mexico pay for it and then when mexico naturally did not want to pay for this wall now we're going to the american taxpayer and democrats predictably said well that wasn't the deal the american taxpayer is not supposed to pay for this wall so this again is another campaign promise that this president made to his base that is completely unreachable it is completely full and if we know anything about trump we know that he's stubborn and that he wants to hold on to that base and that he is all about the politics of appealing to his base and if he looks strong to the base and if that means shutting down the government a second time i would have no reason to believe that he won't i mean he clearly had no exit strategy for the first shutdown i'm guessing he still has none but i dealt that will stop him from shutting down the government again or declaring a national emergency despite the fact that there is no emergency on the border
10:51 pm
first what do you make is what do you make of all is what's going to have the media think well i agree i have to one hundred percent on this i don't know that i know what's going to happen either i do also but i do believe the wall will be built and i do believe at some point the democrats are who voted for this in the past who have voted for funding of a wall in the past will come around and agree for some level of compromise on it because really the president has the leverage on this and he as brian said he could declare a national emergency just pay for it our last government shutdown cost us more in cost more than it would have been spent and then it would have cost to actually build the wall in the first place we're really just getting into a game of political chicken here and i think what we've learned about the house and we knew this whenever it was run by republicans and obama was president so this is not some just to democrats really all the house can do is stop something from happening they can't keep something it can't make something happen but the president as obama said and get things done with a phone a pen and i think that's where you're going to see present trying go it's going to take that same sort of strategy is it the house will not approve of it and the house will not agree to it and ultimately will see
10:52 pm
a merge and see declared and funding to funding move that in that direction brian we're going to have a state of the union message to zain i what do you expect. i honestly larry i i couldn't tell you what to expect from the state of the union i mean to me if you were to ask me the state of the union right now is chaotic the economy continues to chug along that is something that this president inherited from the last president aside from that all of these other issues we talk about whether it's the government shutdown whether it's border security whether it's foreign policy in the middle east or with north korea the economy also showing signs of slipping just a little bit and there's a lot of economists who are very concerned about that i expect trump will do what he typically does he'll he'll claim victory on a whole variety of issues he'll claim the reason why we've been victorious is him and self-heal give himself the credit i'm sure he'll throw in a few digs and insults at nancy pelosi and i'm sure the fact checkers the entire
10:53 pm
hour will be going crazy because most of what he says will probably either be extremely exaggerated or just straight up false one thing he did say chris which is puzzling because the intelligence community didn't agree he said i says is defeated . you know i think the presidents have a history and i can spices of examples going back to my entire lifetime where presence of made statements coming out of a time of war coming out of a battle in which they have they have sort of exaggerated the extent of a victory in a battle and it is sort of a tradition that seems to we don't ever seem to get away of from is isis defeated i do feel like we are and have a safer world today and i feel safer traveling around the world today than i did a decade ago or even five or six years ago does that mean that isis is absolute defeated i mean of course not it isn't but i will say i mean i had the privilege of going to israel back last spring and it felt like a safer place than the one time i'd been there a few years back and i think
10:54 pm
a lot of that has to do with the fact that the president has done in the military have done a solid job or a better job over the course of the last few years of taking the fight to isis and i give this president and the military anything to be clear a lot of credit for that and there were tens of been sort of untied from where they were under president obama. brian the white house insists that the arrests and roger stone has nothing to do with the white house and the president will be make of that. i don't really know what to make of that larry when you consider the fact that the president's name the name trump is all over the indictment now i have nothing to do with the indictment you have nothing to do with the a document because our names are not in the indictment but this is yet another campaign adviser a senior a very very close adviser to the president of the united states who again we see under indictment this is now i believe thirty seven indictments larry every single
10:55 pm
time we hear the same thing from the white house well this has nothing to do with the president really thirty seven indictments directly related to his campaign not hillary's campaign not me not you larry you can't tell me this has nothing to do with donald trump when his name is all over the indictment and thirty seven indictments are now directly related to his campaign it has everything to do with donald doesn't it bother you chris well let's factor here a little bit roger stone was not involved with the trunk for president campaign he wasn't i mean he was involved with donald trump leading up to it but they had a separation with a campaign took place and i do believe does it bother me as a bobbie that roger stone has been dying for lyme for congress yet you should not go before congress in line if he did that then he should pay the price for it but this now is not a man who played a role a in now as paul man for did to give an example paul man of war was directly involved in the trunk campaign for a period of time roger stone was not and i'll say is someone i mean as i was work
10:56 pm
for ted cruz i was personally attacked on multiple many occasions by roger stone so he was called like it outside provocateur and certainly was supportive of the president but support of the president a way that a lot of people who don't actually have a role in a campaign want to be hangers on and what that means from what he was trying to do or what he's trying to pass along i just think frankly at this point it's probably someone who's. washed up and trying to still stay relevant and went too far in trying to do so i will tell you knowing them both he was very close to the president no i don't question their relationship between the two i just mean specific to the campaign larry. before we go chris paine dream is over iran's. you know i don't see how you can bet against tom brady is really the great one and i have not shared for the want to be clear. but from a standpoint i'm more of a college football guy but from a standpoint of watching him play i mean you just got to really enjoy watching tom brady as he leads the patriots to victory after year the guys just incredibly talented brian. i saw good me me the other day larry and it indicated
10:57 pm
that i believe jared goff he has zero postseason losses on his record and tom brady has ten so if you say you're right if you take that into consideration then jared goff in the rams clearly are the favorite that's thank you guys thank you both for joining us thanks larry and thank you audience for joining me on this edition of politic you remember you can join the conversation on my facebook page or treat me a king's things don't forget use the politicking hash tag and that's all for this edition of politic.

aeroflot russian and lyons. the millennium goals i think are trying to restore the rights of individuals rights of humans in the face of this dystopian nightmare and that's probably why they claim price is being held back from crossing over twenty five thirty thousand dollars for coyness because of the rise of see if she is successful and hemans to have a agency that's a net negative for big coin in the short term but i will say because there's a lot of people that don't want her seizing power in any meaningful way.
