that's. the much anticipated but redacted among the reports into alleged collusion is finally released it concludes that with interference from russia but no collusion. and they're having a good day i'm having to take you to school to. no collusion no obstruction. as trump and his legal team celebrate the democrats' demand robot not to testify to the counter intelligence investigation. and in other news described as a historian and role duty by the greek premier no made case for no apparent bill demanding germany world war two reparations.
5:01 pm
it's midnight and moscow and you're watching r t international line. with me in a day or two there welcome to the program after a two year investigation the four hundred page plus and have the redacted live report on russia collusion is in the public domain. reports from new york. well it's over four hundred pages of the bob muller report this is the report from special counsel robert lawler and it goes over allegations that russia somehow interfered in the twenty sixteen u.s. presidential elections and it investigates whether or not trump had a role in colluding or being part or being in contact with these alleged russian activities prior to the releasing of the report william barr the u.s. attorney general came forward and reiterated that the reported show that there was
5:02 pm
no collusion between trump and russia what trungpa said from the beginning seems to have been the conclusion of the report but that's the bottom line. after nearly two years of investigation thousands of subpoenas hundreds of warrants and witness interviews the special counsel confirmed that the russian government sponsored efforts to illegally interfere with the two thousand and sixteen presidential election but did not find that the trump campaign or other americans colluded in those efforts when he was giving his press conference a basically announcing that the report was pending we saw a us president donald trump speaking up on social media tweeting out graphics and such and now we've heard from u.s. president saying that this is a pretty good day for him and they're having a good day i'm having a good day q who's called. no collusion no obstruction now democratic leaders are taking a look at the report and seeing something quite different they are saying that the
5:03 pm
report shows that some obstruction may have taken place and they now want to hold the president accountable there are calls now for testimony from robert muller two congressional committees about the report itself and this is been the reaction of democratic leaders in congress the report concluded there was substantial evidence in quotes that president come up attempted to prevent an investigation into his campaign and his own conduct page seventy six page seventy eight page ninety page one fifty seven volume two. that is why i have formally requested the special counsel moeller. before the house judiciary committee as soon as possible so we can get some answers to these critical questions the first day william barr came out saying it didn't appear miller had found any evidence of collusion they said of their next move by wanting trump's financial statements and all of his tax returns and getting his taxes making sure all of his finance statements tax returns everything else could be in their hands so they can continue to try to find
5:04 pm
something else wrong with trump i mean and that's it you know we saw within twenty four hours of finding out there was no collusion weeks before this entire reporting came out that their next move was already in play with demanding the tax returns not only that we also saw we have seen the arguments and well last night we had chuck schumer saying that well how dare william barr you know come out and speak before we get there was poor what kind of report would this be after that we're going to start hearing about how the redactions are the way a way to hide the real truth and it's really never going to end despite you know national security concerns and being legally allowed to do redactions that implicate national security issues for the u.s. we're going to continue to see one thing after another with trump but they went immediately from russia collusion to try on taxes trying financial statements and william barres obstruction so i mean the arguments haven't stopped yet they're not going to stop but we do have what seems to be a very conclusive case of absolutely no collusion there i spoke to a senior correspondent on the details of the much anticipated report. the report
5:05 pm
itself i mean we heard about four hundred pages let me just show you what those four hundred pages many of them look like this is it's almost modern art this is how much was redacted from the report and you can go for pages and pages with nothing legible. there's so much redacted in this report that it is honestly very difficult to get a picture of what they were saying at certain points for example they seem convinced that there was russian meddling yet they say no collusion. the russian government interfered in the twenty sixteen presidential election in sweeping and systematic fashion evidence of russian government operations began to surface in mid twenties sixteen in june the democratic national committee on its cyber response team publicly announced that russian hackers had compromised its computer network releases of what materials hacks not public reporting soon our tribute to
5:06 pm
the russian government began that same month additional releases followed in july through the organization wiki leaks with further releases in october and november the investigation did not establish that members of the true campaign conspired all coordinated with the russian government in its election interference activities now the report makes many accusations many allegations about russian hacking it describes our russian military intelligence units and troll companies troll firms factories meddled in the election the problem is i went through the report the first sections detailing russian hacking there's almost no proof no evidence this is incredibly light on details and technical aspects pacific's it's just very very general the russians did this russian the russians did this take us at our word there's also contradictory information and certain points they say that two
5:07 pm
aliases that the russians used apparently d.c. leaks at another what the russian military intelligence officers communicated with each other apparently meaning bullish over twitter which is very strategic think of this was the russian military intelligence director at the stand up and shout to each other no not in this case they allege that the russians hacked all sorts of things nevertheless they also admit that they never actually got their hands physically on the d n c servers that hacked on. and where clinton's e-mails were leaked from which is very strange they say they got copies later on the f.b.i. is all sorts of little snippets contradictory information that you know is worth picking out but it is impossible because so much is redacted it's page after page that is barely legible and the russian the russians have said largely the same
5:08 pm
thing the kremlin has said statement they are looking at the remulla report but they say there's no evidence there's no proof there's no sort of information that they can address talk about it's all allegations in suspicion at certain points they say the russian hackers appear to done something so even they are convinced the russians are saying what they've always said that there was no state sponsored meddling and their hands are clean of this and i had to repeat what i've said several times including in a personal contacts the russian state never has and level interfere in internal american affairs nevertheless a number of russian companies have been targeted as legal action against them number of individuals as well a dozen military intelligence officers have been indicted. russia boom to give them up. if any way you look at it but. there's an interesting thing as well one
5:09 pm
specific company that there's legal action going against it isn't being told what the proof the evidence against them is because apparently that sensitive information is remarkable situation it's like accusing someone of a crime and then refusing to tell them what they did wrong. and it's especially strange because they're apparently concerned that the russians will find out what the russians did. it's a very strange but again it might be in the redacted sections that we haven't seen that the public isn't being shown nevertheless there's a lot to get through and i'm sure they'll be more talked about i mean you know you talked about the confusion so despite the confusion the unanswered questions the redactions it is still a very comprehensive report isn't it was huge twenty five million dollars they spent putting this report together. fifty or f.b.i.
5:10 pm
agents working for two years they looked at more than a million documents financial receipts e-mails invited. two thousand five hundred interviews two thousand and eight hundred subpoenas thirty four indictments it was tremendously huge but they looked at three things one russian meddling which again they were incredibly light on the details they also looked at whether trump colluded trump or any of his associates colluded with russia and that they were pretty categorical that there was no collusion something trump a-z. boasted about and the last thing they looked at is whether trump tried to obstruct justice by firing the former director of the f.b.i. when the investigation was in its infancy but here we've got a little bit of confusion because the report says that they haven't decided either way there's not enough evidence it's all very difficult. trouble's taken this. as
5:11 pm
a victory says that there was no obstruction no collusion the house u.s. house democrat majority the house judiciary committee is now saying that this report condemns trump it says that there was obstruction a promise to look into it nevertheless the report's been the release but i'm sure that there is plenty more drama plenty moodie those to come. he said to step up its demand for germany to pay world war two reparations to the sum of barely three hundred billion. in compensation for the nothing occupation says that has been settled i europe correspondent peter oliver has the details. europe could be set for the reopening of some painful historical wounds the greek parliament has asked germany for billions of euro for the nazi occupation of the country during world war two the demand for german war reparations is
5:12 pm
a historical and moral debt for us it will help us build a better future in our relations with germany today therefore we have a duty to give our two peoples the opportunity to close this chapter athens as next step is to send what's known as a verbal note to berlin that will be seen as the starting point for negotiations to kick off from now back in twenty sixteen agreed parliamentary committee put the figure that should pay is reparations that well at least two hundred and ninety billion euro that's as compensation for the deaths of tens of thousands of greeks at the hands of the nazis as well as the extortion of the bank of greece by hitler to finance his war machine however some greeks aren't confident that this appeal will lead to anything the germans are of the opinion that it has compensated the issue with the payment of one hundred sixty million dollars marks to the victims
5:13 pm
and the admission of about four hundred twenty thousand guest workers as far as the german government a constant that payment back in one nine hundred sixty of roughly around two hundred fifty million euro in today's money settled the matter once and for all. we are aware of the great guilt the attitude of the federal government is unchanged the question of german reparations is settled legally and politically in the treaty which we unify germany in one thousand nine feet it's no for the reparations were planned but what do the people of lynn and athens think should happen next. we have a very very big. responsibility to two world war two but how long are generations of generations having to pay for things that they didn't do as a country we have a responsibility to react now they should have come
5:14 pm
a little bit earlier now which still ate their broke and trying to see where they can get money. from of course we should claim something not only because many years ago because of german intolerance to step do you think we have governments that can claim any same i think there is no political will from any government to claim german restorations. germany looks after its own interests what are we looking after one of the darkest periods in european history still echoes today and ideas about what to do when it comes to reparations for wartime atrocities still fairly displaced peter all of a r.t. . a group of anti fracking protesters in australia have come up with a way to get the message across.
5:15 pm
you know what. critics say fracking has a huge impact on the environment including possible earth quakes because of the high pressure used to extract the oil and gas from right below it also increases the risk of all spills and pollution something that can lead to various health problems australia's know with entire tree and moratorium on fracking back in september twenty sixth but that ban was lifted last year with the government investing about eight million australian dollars which is about six million u.s. dollars to accelerate the development of the industry they say it will create
5:16 pm
a file isn't this of jobs and help the country's economy however environmentalist graeme sawyer has significant downs about those claims. there's a whole range of respect and that's one of the problems the us additional i was really concerned about is it's the war that could be directly impacted in the short term but this is wrecking not only threaten their livelihood and their ability to drink water it also threatens their cultural knowledge and information and their cultural practices but the northern territory government is in pretty bad study that they want you to call me inside thinking i might be able to use this as a way to increase activity but the evidence would suggest other was the jobs question is really an interesting one because research out of coins land shows that for every ten jobs they created us recognize free i lost twenty four jobs out of just received the area is some really big questions that need to be answered around those things as well as the environmental concerns. following all the
5:17 pm
trauma in this week's. four months to. your husband giving his breakdown of all the action including his controversial assistant referee the one thousand edition of on the touchline as. our here's a quick taste of what's ahead. thank you. i've never seen again i kid have you. i did. choose offsides no refereeing no lines in the history of football disallowed that ball in these circumstances only the via is the controversy i saying they got it right i think in the world cup final they got it wrong the should be to take some
5:18 pm
pressure from the referee in the us to the keys they put in his hands a big decision i look also to the coaching perspective always it possible a champions league level so many mistakes together in the short in a short period of time so many mistakes come on they cannot feel pressure and that's the level we are speaking about the best players in the world the best clubs in in the world a player that they absolutely love i think is phenomenal eriksson makes a mistake that he would never forget in his live for play against. in the way they want to play you have the risk that they are better than you i think until this moment nobody really i don't like the words piers but nobody really respect them all the teams in the semifinals they have the creativity here they have the score there but they have
5:19 pm
a top class center the fender and the skid the league. very very good here here here not here here here here not here filomena or saddam are there they scored and they scored and they score it's also possible that you are going to seize this is not my football this is my football and this is the way i want my teams to play this season they are in the semifinals weed in my opinion fifty percent chances of being in the final i would say so we've got messi old city liverpool favorite and that would say messi is the special one here because everything he does does all the time and when messi has the ball one one one. you are. here working with you but i am still the members or. i have to do for them he is the most without display as you wouldn't be the man but he was the man.

a senior south african politician has been branded a racist for urging black voters not to waste their ballots on white candidates but the ruling a.n.c. party secretary general denies claims of racism don't ever vote for him are white person will never change the lives of black people they have oppressed our main hope is the black vote the democratic alliance represents the watch interest the elite and the privileged as comments have angered the party veterans who described his remarks as inappropriate the government has been at pains of late to find discrimination by launching a national action plan some background to this issue white people currently make up just nine percent of south africa's population but own three quarters of private farmland that seen an increasing number of calls from the black community to redistribute the country's wealth we got reaction from a former apartheid activist and also from the leader of the black first land first
5:21 pm
party. i people are the beneficiaries of racism all of them were that they were liberal what i do even communists in south africa are white people benefited it could you to benefit thirty five thousand white families own eighty percent of the land they will not shed his land with us they still maintaining that part of it hold on the economy so why would we not have a blacks only look as they should be fighting for black liberation why would any black person vote what the man in that position who has the ability at his fingertips the ability to hope try and mean what has happened let's not try to do it i just destroying even we all just join a third and that is the saddest thing because that is not the opinion of the majority in this country i was arrested during a party for having brought up two black children living in my home at a time when it wasn't allowed and i think one feel strongly enough about one's own
5:22 pm
trying to overcome everything you can to oscillate it into watch and black you cannot do it. your opinion is unhappy with facebook's latest efforts to prevent foreign interference in its upcoming parliamentary election brussels has written to the social media giant expressing concern that new advertising rules could affect cross border campaign. facebook's policy would prevent european political actors from using facebook facebook messenger and instagram for the e.u. wide paid communication campaigns this policy would put political actors at the same level as foreign entities attempting to interfere in the e.u. elections facebook's new rules mean more rigorous checks are applied to advertisers but also imposes geographical limits and registration in a country where the odds are to be purchased which goes against the idea of power political campaigning facebook's justifying its actions saying its new policy
5:23 pm
safeguards against foreign. there. we wait the different risks and concluded that the right solution to help best guard against foreign interference is to only allow people to run advertisement in the country if they have passed an authorization process could mean they are a result in that same country it's a man of the u.k. based bow group think tank says facebook has forgotten about its initial purpose and goals this started because there were allegations that foreign parties were influencing. elections in other parts of the world now i think almost all of those allegations of been disproved that what what facebook have done is they've they've looked at the fact that there's been a huge uproar. the amount of data they've been collecting on their own users and
5:24 pm
rather than restricting themselves which is what they should have been doing they've restricted the uses which seems an entirely wrong headed approach for small organizations and for individuals that just want to comment on the political discourse it's going to get harder and harder and harder so big players will be able to comply with the new regulations but smaller players won't and i think that's ultimately injurious to the platform injurious to the bateson injurious to democracy that's not how it should be and facebook ultimately began as a peer to peer a grassroots network essentially and i think if it strays away from that and it just becomes another big corporation then something else will take its place. now i'll be back at me top of the hour read more updates but for now it's the constant reports.
5:25 pm
what howard stern did last week sort of increase the level of chaos across libya even if he wins tripoli that chaos will continue because there will be pockets of very very intensive existence for him across the country and i think i'm afraid like everybody else that this chaos or longs for a while is going to attract more extremists from around africa to meet with. the politicians to. put themselves on the line to get accepted or rejected. so when you want to be president and she. want to. achieve the right to be close this is what the full story of the whole can't be good. i'm interested always

enslave the global population behind devices and to be a sign to life of clicking on ads for scooby snacks and the second you stop clicking on those ads you die and you get to the platform going off the grid and. jeff bezos sends in a drone to carry away your ashes well as more on the story of stacy well max you were around on the internet and in fact an internet entrepreneur during the first dotcom boom remember back in the ninety's you also went and you saw john perry barlow author of the declaration of independence for cyberspace and back in those days the new ssion that the government or any corporation could stop this explosion of freedom and free expression and the libertarian ideals of the early internet would have been laughed at but now we have allowed essentially
5:29 pm
just two or three corporations to pretty much control the entire online experience and lo and behold we have this headline from bloomberg internet consolidation opened the door to censorship titans like facebook google and apple defeat the purpose of a decentralized web the british government released proposals this week to hold online and social media platforms responsible for harmful content a few decades ago we might have scoffed at anyone who even thought they could regulate. people say on the internet no longer today the centralization of platforms and services providers makes them forcemeat surprisingly easy it's just a matter of picking which layer of the text tack to hold accountable but you know evolution survival of the fittest relies on mutations and mutations come about

through spontaneous. combustion if you will or spontaneity accidents collisions clar. and this is what makes us human now online censorship censoring the platform the primary platform in which we communicate means the end of evolution it means the extinction of humans as we know them and the beginning of this casino gleg era where our humanity has been destroyed but only purpose is to click on ads so yes it does seem like the matrix in a lot of ways we are the batteries that power a few corporations revenue model and the hackers of the internet era of the ninety's and the entrepreneurs at that time they were very optimistic and idealistic about the ways that the internet will foster free speech and communication the biggest enemy of course came from within and you see that big
