do i mean we're going to have to leave it there it is real and robert jordan executive producer you can watch all this thank you so much and. chairman of the islamic human rights commission think you both for joining us on the program. we now go back to our breaking news here on our t.v. the situation at the venezuelan embassy in washington where anti-war activists have told us they're being evicted from the building we go live now to our see america correspondent rachel blevins who is near the venezuelan embassy where what's the situation right now. while i'm here outside of the venezuelan embassy in washington d.c. where we have learned that police broke into the building this morning at a rest of the 4 remaining activists who were still inside now we're still waiting to confirm me the status of those 4 activists i have seen reports that at least 2 of the activists were removed from the building earlier this morning by police.
11:32 am
transport vehicles literally waiting to see exactly where they are and what charges they're facing now here at the embassy we know that police reportedly entered the building around 930 this morning and so far we have seen a very heavy police presence including secret service agents d.c. metro police officers and federal agents we've also seen an ambulance on the scene and a presence from the fire department here as well so we're still waiting to learn exactly what all is going on inside of that building and that seems to be the biggest question surrounding it we know that police are inside conducting a search right now but we still don't know exactly what the state of the embassy is there have been a group of activists who have been inside the embassy for the last few weeks they recently had electricity and water completely shut off and earlier this week the majority of the activists left the building when police came and posted a notice saying that anyone inside would be arrested for trespassing if they did not leave now those 4 remaining activists were the ones that stayed after the
11:33 am
notice was posted on monday night and they stayed up until this morning it appears now the notice that police posted essentially said that the activists inside were trespassing because they claim that they're here at the embassy and that they were invited by the elected government of venezuela to continue to occupy the embassy despite the fact that the united states has decided to recognize opposition leader one and the state department has claimed that he is now the rightful president of venezuela so we're still waiting to see exactly what the status will be of the embassy and its police plan to turn it over to representatives for anytime soon this is a developing situation and we will continue to follow it and bring all the latest updates reporting from outside the venezuelan and the sea in washington which implements marty. rachel thank you for bringing us the latest. more news after this short break.

welcome back to the program u.s. stocks have taken quite a tumble over the past few days due to tit for tat tariffs imposed by beijing and washington as part of an ongoing trade war and american farmers are finding themselves caught in the middle. the price of that we could get for our so i've been has put as. close to $2.00 a bushel below breakeven which is if nobody can can make that last very long and stay in business and.
11:36 am
at this point we are definitely not seeing any benefits it's just pain. however you feel about the chinese market and the way that they've treated. trade wise in the past it's it's a fact that the chinese market is is has what has made us profitable in growing soybeans hopefully in the end that the trade agreement is something that is very beneficial to me as a producer here in the united states but also to the people in china. the trade agreement has to be win win or it's not going to happen. last week washington hiked
11:37 am
tariffs on $200000000000.00 worth of chinese goods beijing responded with similar countermeasures claims america is actually benefiting from the trade war by cashing in on import taxes ahead of the iowa soybean association now fears the chinese tariffs will have a huge impact on the united states. sort of beings are really been at the tip of the spear if you will in the retaliation from the chinese on the u.s. trade in the chinese trade dispute but it's certainly impacted the core products from the u.s. as well as livestock. particularly pork poultry and of course a host of other nominated a cultural product so you know this you know the any disruption in trade between the u.s. and any of its major trading partners will certainly have an impact on farmers from a soybean perspective keep in mind that china currently buys about 60 percent of all the soybeans traded in the world 60 percent so with the u.s. that disruption in that relationship that china it certainly is
11:38 am
a major impact on soybeans about one out of every 3rd row or about a 3rd of the toll the u.s. oil being brought to italy would end up in china course today that's not happening . a feud between the philippines and canada over a waste disposal has escalated with monella recalling its ambassador and consuls that's after canada refused to take back tons of garbage it shipped to the philippines back in 2013. that the cause shows that we are. very serious and asking them to get back they're going to be otherwise going to see their elation of so with them. the dispute began in 2013 when a private canadian company shipped more than 100 containers of trash to the philippines it was later discovered they had been falsely labeled as containing
11:39 am
recyclable plastic when in fact they contained household waste in 2016 a philippines court ordered the company to take the rubbish back but it continues to languish in a landfill last month the philippines president adopted a stronger stance by pushing a deadline for canada to take the trash back and threatening war. will declare war against canada we can take them down i'll return the trash just wait and see i will advise canada that your garbage is on the way prepare ground reception eat it if you want to it is now theoretically possible to get it back but there's still a number of questions around who will pay for it where the financial responsibility is where the consequences are as. the latest move comes months after chinese authorities refused to accept a recyclable waste from the u.s. forcing it along with other western countries to rethink what they do with their trash richard hay day durian foreign affairs analyst in manila says justin trudeau has failed to fulfill a promise he made 2 years ago to get the trash back well for
11:40 am
a very long time to build up in size being unfortunately a recipient of tall seek ways including nuclear waste of some of the united states in software western allies so this case has been lingering for quite long science fiction a day in one of those however i was a summer of 0.4 for the philippines for if you're president you going to target because with no plans or just introduce us here in the last 2 years to go for geology and saw me he probably said they're going to take back the trash all the garbage toxic garbs that was left here lingered it's because i'm 30 and you know to your scheme does not have been any comedian going to say that this was a private deal between the media company and it will be defunct required of course again he has also say that you know it's not going to be any good small he's also whoever it was able to accept these back in 2013 the philippines but clearly this is the group this diplomatic crisis could get president between 2 long term
11:41 am
holidays philippines and canada. still to come in the program u.s. german relations heat up as washington threatens to impose sanctions on all companies and volved and the russian gas pipeline project more on that after this short break. after the previous stage of my career was over everyone wondered what i was going to do next the ball different clubs on one hand it is logical to go from fields where everything is familiar on the other i wanted a new challenge and a fresh perspective i'm used to surprising people and i saw one on t.v. . i'm going to talk about football not the or else you can think i was going to do it.

back to the program tensions between the u.s. and germany are on the rise over the north stream 2 gas pipeline but berlin says it won't be cowed by washington's threats. america is acting in this case like germany is its colony thus this is something i don't want to happen and we need to prevent this it costs berlin is currently hosting an energy conference with the approach to russian gas high on the agenda we are all verb reports from the event. been hearing here at this gas conference in berlin is that europe germany is where in particular needs a reliable source of energy that comes not from coal not from nuclear that the idea here in germany is to get away from well with nuclear by 2022 in coal by the end of 2030 s but the end of the 2030 s. gas they say is the only way forward however what we are seeing is big opposition
11:44 am
to that particularly coming from the united states senator ted cruz of texas has put forward a bill which could see extra sanctions put in place on those companies that are currently building the nord stream to pipeline in the baltic sea and it's not just from them that we've heard this criticism also the ambassador for germany for the probably united states here in germany richard grinnell issued a warning that's well pulls no punches sanctions are coming if you continue to be involved with north stream to from american point of view that by a blow is not just drones boards and gas but present on cruise sanctions while grinnell isn't the only u.s. ambassador that's been having an outspoken say on this the u.s. ambassador to the european union gordon sunderland also suggest that the europe should even suggest he directly said that europe's should source its energy from democratic sources not democratic ones pointing a finger directly at russia while he was saying that now i spoke to 2 close to the
11:45 am
member the bundestag heavily involved in the committee that looks into north stream to from here in germany and he said statements like this were absolute rubbish doesn't which is what angers me most here is that german companies and other european companies that want to build this pipeline are being threatened and told they won't be able to do business in the u.s. if they take part these are extra territorial sanctions that go beyond the u.s. they go against international law and in my opinion are completely unacceptable away from the men and women involved in the gas industry itself there's also opposition political figures here we spoke to. one of them who said well this isn't about geopolitics this isn't about securing the e.u.'s energy this is all about business when it comes to the us i consider this comment from the united states quite ridiculous because we all know that american brought us the best business man in the balt. like always learning from the west once we have learned from the
11:46 am
americans that you always source from the cheapest source and always source from the most reliable source and liquid natural gas is neither cheap nor reliable and that is why it's of course in the german interest to source mainly from russia what we're hearing from here at the gas conference in berlin is that no matter what pressures put on by the united states this is a deal that is going to get done it's a project that's going to get finished it may well end up upsetting some people along the way but billions of already been invested in it it is required for germany to meet its energy needs as it looks to move away from fossil fuels like coal and also move away from nuclear power they're going to have to replace that with something and they saying here that they have to replace it with gas. 5 major major tech giants have committed to combating violent content online after world leaders urged them to do so at a summit in paris that meeting was convened in response to the terror attack in

christchurch new zealand which was live streamed and then widely shared over facebook. terrorism foiling to extremism a complex societal problems that require over the sides a response from the commitments were making today will through the strengthen the balkans should the governments decided to acknowledge industry must have to address this through and then debates about the tech firms have signed up to banning anyone who shares violent content without good reason and promise to follow up on material flagged as terrorist more promptly and to pay more attention to live streams in new zealand 10 people have been charged for sharing the video of the christchurch massacre just to remind you back in march a gunman killed 51 people in 2 mosques there the video was uploaded some 1500000 times on facebook in the 24 hours that followed the live stream. we discuss who should shoulder responsibility for removing bad content platforms or users with
11:48 am
privacy activists build new media analyst lionel and rights attorney jennifer braden. you have an army not just with facebook but with twitter there's an army of contractors employees and other people who are there to immediately get it off right away as has been stated this happens with people that espouse certain political opinions and other ideologies and so now we're talking about you know we're talking about getting off far more egregious things monitoring or moderating in real time what these videos are and what becomes and is funding some research to try and improve their ability to detect this in real time with sort of automated means which is absolutely necessary given the volume of content but the technology simply isn't up to it yet the idea of somebody actually showing in broadcasting real time slaughter of human beings i make it even simpler what if this was an actual real time live stream of child pornography nobody would be even debating
11:49 am
this i would say you've got to fix this technology and now this is nothing to do with freedom of expression nothing to do with the dissemination of ideas in no way does it violate and by the way very quickly safe book has the most incredible celerity what it comes to shutting down and immediately knocking somebody off who are spouses a poll a little opinion just by merely supporting somebody you need to recognize the fact that a 1000000 copies were taken down effectively and we need to actually take a hats off to facebook the fact that it did take down so many different copy there would have been any number of different videos being all being shot similar taney asli and i see dealing with all those in real time would be almost impossible but those were the perpetrators do you punish them is that report told do you allow that what about people who are filming atrocities in my am more they're doing genuine reports do you allow that if it appears to be atrocious attacks and therefore we actually have to be slightly more realistic than saying the technology
11:50 am
could do it come on get you move get. there are of the 4 more complicated challenges they have i do believe and i know that they have this technology not only do they have that they have hundreds upon thousands of employees of contractors of people whose jobs it is to sit there and to see what's coming up in the moment something that is violent that is agree just that is horrific the horrific thing about this is that we are now given social media giants like facebook and twitter a very very severe amount of power that was supposed to only be a spouse of the us government federal government and state governments under the 1st amendment and now it's as if social media giants and platforms like facebook or twitter have taken over the you know what you guys have your 1st amendment governments you can't do anything we're the ones who dictate your speech now that's dangerous and that's something that needs to be consistently watched i don't want to hear anybody tell me that the technology is not there or there's no way to monitor this because let me tell you something if this war is something that was

contrary to the zuckerberg world view it would be awful for anybody even thought it so they're dragging their feet it's nonsense and they know exactly what has to be done and they're simply not doing it. the rise of nationalism was among the most discussed issues during debate ahead of the upcoming european elections charlotte even ski reports from paris. a polite debate which some described as being a little bit dull by the 6 candidates old vying to be the next president of the european commission they tackled some of the big issues dividing europe at the moment including mike ration taxation youth unemployment and of course the roys over you or skepticism old nationalism as they describe it saying it was possibly the greatest division in europe at the moment people who used to vote for my party and many parties here are now faulting from nationalist parties sometimes even
11:52 am
extremist parties that's our fault we see that nationalism and mis back up this county. and then what we have to do over the 26 overall of may for this year's elections you have to find against those who want to destroy our europe ordinary people in europe your culture is that do not care about reduced politics are somehow tired from european integration well that's because there are signs in many polls that euro skeptic parties are likely to make a big gains in this next election some polls suggesting that they could actually double the number of seats which would mean if that's the case they would hold around 15 percent of the seats in the european chamber a lot and many people of very concerned about that particularly the centrists and the liberals and all of the candidates urged people to do whatever they could to get out and to vote next week and some even suggested that they could be
11:53 am
a prospect in the future of changing the mechanism of voting within the european union today we have in our external affairs the i just a few minute must vote that's for europe cannot act europe is not quick enough but after all of it who was watching suggestions that many of the big broadcasters in the large and nations across europe actually relegated that debate to the less so watched smaller channels or to online channels meaning that perhaps only a fraction of the 427000000 people who are eligible to vote next week actually saw who could be their potential next president of the european commission. a recap of our breaking news antiwar activists have confirmed to r.t. that they are currently being evicted from the venezuelan embassy in washington d.c. as well as warnings from police who said they were trespassing the venezuelan foreign ministry has already called the u.s.
