u.s. special counsel robert mueller handed in his resignation on wednesday 2 years after he opened his investigation into alleged collusion between president all chomp in russia before announcing the decision he sought to give clarification on the report's key conclusions. if we had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime we would have said so. we did not however make a determination as to whether the president did commit a crime we chose those words carefully and the work speaks for itself. and the report is my testimony some have likened the report to the rorschach test in psychology where patients give interpretations of what an interesting represents in a similar way both camps in washington all interpret well as final speech very differently. mahler was essentially referring impeachment to unite its congress the

special counsel has demonstrated that president is lying i think it was very clear if you could clear the president he would have but he couldn't it was to be the same as the report. you know it struck you what we're saying is no obstruction just don't go there is no nothing and we consider this case closed he completed his investigation now he's closed his office and it's time for everybody to move on legal and media analysts lionel told us the entire moon a private was senseless. if you can't end dive there if those were the rules why did you investigate him in the 1st place did you know these rules before did you know the rules before that so you can indict them or charge him then well where you were investigated ah you were investigating collusion and by the way did you notice such a paltry

a de minimus amount of time there was that was given to the reason for this what was this rush in colo should explain this more meanwhile donald trump is questioning the origins of the moon investigation demanding that u.s. intelligence declassify information relating to this guy's deference that higher parts of the media have shifted their stance on whether the us president can question the activities of the intel services. the thing with spies with all this secrets and power and egos is that it really seems to goo to their heads and honestly how can you blame them they are literally beyond public scrutiny anyone tries to stick their nose in you just stamp everything that's classified and loudly denounce them as unpatriotic see it as a very very serious and outrageous move on the part of mr trump once again

trampling upon the statutory authorities of the director of national intelligence and the heads of the independent intelligence agencies how dead trump what true american would ever question why they're being wiretapped and spied upon good thing america has m.s.n. be she true patriots hired mr brennan full time so he can vent his frustrations for everyone to hear of course to do that m.s.n. b.c. had to sacrifice their principles and integrity president obama said today he still stands by his cia chief john brennan even though it turns out the cia was indeed spying on the senate and some senators are calling for brennan to be fired now just to be clear that was in 2014 when they weren't on the same side and spying on everyone your own elected leaders included was considered dubious these is

2019 and the word spying is now considered politically incorrect it offends people who say people who secretly eavesdrop and record and film everyone agents the good guys. a talking point from the president and those around him telling congress buying her on the trump campaign it's a loaded word stupid. the implications of using that word has now gone trump's favorite new word and the trump media's favorite new word. senate intelligence chair dianne feinstein accuse brennan cia of secretly tracking the senate's investigation into one of the worst abuses in recent cia history and now factor in this huge new scandal the fact that brennan cia was spying on members of congress the cia was spying on the senate intelligence committee basically busting into their computers but i give m s n b c too much credit or others to washington post gave brennan

candidate accused the other of sexual harassment and even though this scandal washed away it didn't hamper the anti immigration party's performance they increased their share of the vote to more than 15 percent. and despite merkel not cuomo warning the populous parties wanted to destroy europe we are haring to deal with populist movements that in many areas are contemptuous of our values and want to destroy the europe of the values we represent we have to stand up to this these parties significantly increase their representation in many parts of the e.u. sex money the long arm of washington reaching for controlling europe nothing seemed to put voters off seeking something new what is clear from the results of these elections is that the old guard could no longer count on the masses to support them

in blind faith what europeans want is something different it seems but godless what that is what i think why you're skeptics because of the migrants people are skeptical because they do not know what it's going to get them they're afraid of migrants. the reason is the decline in the number of elites compared to the rest of the people as well as the quality of the democratic representation. spouse because . i think it is because of immigration all have opinions who are freed of team many migrants coming i think this is the primary cause of this vote. in part. parties had a disastrous defeat my opinion it was high time for it and now we see with the european results we can influence our national politics all be implemented here on a standard us lift i think that brings the debate in england has made many people here in germany think about it this discussion has turned many citizens against the

u. . i think people feel as if the existing political parties are giving them what they want and therefore their hunting around for something else i think says some extent is probably a protest just trying to engineer the tory vote to go more with. it wasn't unexpected as an outcome i would say that kind of a level of division i would have expected across the country. any frustration over the delay in pranks that so they nearly formed a private party stolen into poll position in the new elections banking on the results in westminster hands allie the newly formed breaks the party we should point out in fact they've won by far the most seats in those european elections for the u.k. and as you mentioned they're getting more than the conservatives and labor combined and their lead for raj he's somebody who has been a really a figurehead not just in these elections but in the push leading up to that

facebook and google started with a great idea and great ideals unfortunately it was also a very dark so. they are constructing a profile of you and that profile is real it's detailed and it never goes away turns out that google is manipulating your opinions from the very 1st character that you type into the search bar it will always favor one dog food over another one comparative shopping service over another and one candidate over another they can suppress certain types of results based on what they think you should be see if they have this kind of power then democracy is it an illusion the free and fair election besan exist the more we give them the sooner we're all.

clone of welcome to worlds apart there are few things more polarizing in education than standardized testing has long divided into those who believe it leads to substandard educational results and those who see that as being means all for providing not just the quality but also the quality of education but there's some groups of students consistently bad at that now they say how does one tell equality from an inbuilt cultural advantage. well to discuss that i'm now joined by

a canadian educator and president of the international academy of education dr whelan so it's good to talk to you thank you very much thank you very much now we're recording this interview very stressful time for many families and russian i'm sure around the world one there are children a taking exams that will determine their future and i think there is a renewed debate again about whether their standardized tests are a comprehensive fair and reliable measure of academic achievement where do you stand in that debate. i think this is very evil. standardized testing is its period well done no days and you know to say we should have standardized testing to be like saying well we shouldn't have our blood pressure checked or even are we going to see the doctor those are standardized instruments you need to be able to know how children are doing. right from when they start

school but you know that one of the consistent criticisms of standardized tests is that they tend to stifle creativity they don't measure it while enough and that they tend to kind of skew the educational process towards a more mechanistic and more authoritarian approach. and the other thing that people often mention is that it makes. student oriented teaching which i know you are a big advocate of much more difficult do you share that concern. i want to see. started to measure kids' development through to grade 3 or grade for make sure children learn to read well but i had one indicator would be how wells of society bringing its children from not just from birth but from conception up to age 8 or 9 and being successful readers in the whole process of course you can have room for creativity in art and so on it's not about. i think
2:30 am
the big creates these very polarized extremes that are just just not the case but it's one thing to see how the child is doing on the developmental. scale and it's another thing to use this task force to evaluate his entire academic performance or the performance of his school do you think that the deserve the way that society is gave to them. you know and i don't know what it's like in russia but in united states tests like the pisa test the program of international student assessment those results come out and there's a big poor 3 or 4 days and then the teachers go on about doing the business same as usual now where it's different is when they have state tests and so on where schools are being held accountable for test scores and so on so so the argument is that. teachers are being forced to spend more time on mount syon.
