things that they were saying is. that there would be incentivize and prioritize what they call onsite distributed generation and products that are 100 percent low income subscriber owned including low income households not for profit organizations and affordable housing owners as well as projects 100 percent owned by households located in environmental justice communities so what you have is you had a couple of these coal processing plants right in chicago right in very poor predominantly african-american neighborhoods so not only were they poisoning them with everything that was going on there but they also were taking the time to not realize that that was a job that was being lost to the people in that community and so bringing these things back and making solar affordable for everyone bringing down the cost of energy and then also doing this thing of really understanding that you're not for profits

iran announced today that plans to increase its enrichment of uranium possibly breaking the 2015 nuclear agreement and adding another complicated layer to a dangerous escalation and rhetoric between the u.s. and iran this says u.s. officials continue to blame iran for last week's attack on 2 tankers in the gulf of oman while other world powers are urging the u.s. and its allies to quell the tense situation that's something our mayor up into something even more volatile here with the latest is r t correspondent john thanks for joining us john. my pleasure. so john what exactly is iran say right now in saying that they're going to up its enrichment of uranium. well yeah i'll break it down for you and kind of give you the you know the summarized version of this today tabitha the spokesman for iran's atomic energy agency said that the

country would basically increase its enriching uranium stockpile to essentially exceed the limits that were set in the 2015 nuclear deal the j c p o as it's called basically upping the ante and and the showdown in the ongoing kind of battle of words and rhetoric between the u.s. and iran along with i should mention u.s. allies against iran and all this is well under the terms of the joint comprehensive plan of action and jay c.p.o. a iran agreed to reduce its nuclear capabilities limiting the number of uranium enriched centrifuges and then also restricting its efforts to enrich uranium to no more than 3.67 percent i'm not going to get into all of the you know the physics here and all the chemistry behind this but iran basically at this point is saying that it's going to kick its uranium enriched uranium up to possibly as much as 20 percent and the concern about that is that some say that could put to ron in

a position to create a nuclear weapon grade uranium now iranian officials say them unless the european countries involved in the j. c.p.o. a break with the u.s. and basically help ease the sanctions that the u.s. ations that are having a detrimental effect on iran's economy and the country is going to essentially pull out of the new agreement in 10 days so this appears to really be a move by iran to test the resolve of the u.s. and the coalition of countries that negotiated and remain in the j. c.p.o. way and this latest development you know certainly adds to the you know the ongoing tension and drama from last week when those 2 attackers were attacked in the gulf of oman near the strait of hormuz that said u.s. officials including president trump and secretary of state mike pompei oh as we know as you guys have been talking about we've been reporting have blamed iran for the attacks saying video released by u.s. . actual command shows an iranian vessel revolutionary guards vessel removing an unexploded limpet mine from one of those tankers and there's actually new photos

that have been released by centcom and by the u.s. . again backing up you know this accusation from u.s. officials yesterday secretary pompei all repeated these accusations against iran also he said not ruling out possible military action against the country listen we are confident that we can take a set of actions that can restore deterrence which is our mission so that you say a full range of options does that include a military response course of course the president consider everything we need to do to make sure that it's a presence that we don't want to run to get a nuclear weapon the previous administration put them on a path where that virtually guaranteed that they could get there so we withdrew from the ridiculous j c p a way and are moving ourselves towards a set of policies which will convince iran to behave simply like a normal nation. and of course he's talking about those policies he's talking about have to do with u.s.

sanctions as i mentioned one last point here today iran's top military commander said that iran would continue to protect the strait of hormuz adding that quote as long as the islamic republic's oil is exported the oil of others will be securely exported to and he added that if iran really wanted to shut the straight down it could certainly do that and would do it in a very public way and with that said iran's ambassador to the britain warned that things are heading towards a confrontation you may have heard this yesterday one u.s. official senator tom cotton of arkansas called for a quote retaliate retaliatory military strike against iran so you know again this battle words and the accusations continue to fly between you know both countries tabitha and here we are between all this we don't know if you know this historic ironic arraignment peace agreement that ended that you know now we're out of it now there's a possibility lot of other countries be out of it but what the reaction of other countries to iran the now infamous you know u.s. allies like saudi arabia like israel what are they. well yeah and surprisingly
