5:02 am
here all have so quickly tonight the pilots were able to return to the airport because that belly go airborne reaching else did it just 260 meters but they acted so decisively opting to land the plane on its belly in a cornfield with the wheels up just over a kilometer from the end of the road where they just come off without having time to empty the fuel tanks could all go so wrong but it didn't the pilot in command 41 year old to use a pole for previously been a lawyer before changing career then becoming a pilot he's been flying with your airline since 2030 become

a captain last year as copilot young guy 23 year old murders that he obtained his license to fly just 2 years ago russia's health ministry talking about the passengers now said 76 people sought medical assistance after the incident one woman is still in hospital today their condition is believed to be life threatening thankfully cossar of reports for us next from the crash site in southeast moscow. 226 passengers and 7 crew members of ural airlines flight bound for crimea from moscow are celebrating their 2nd birthday the air bus a 321 collided with a flock of birds just shortly after takeoff from the capital's zuckoff ski airport's the captain mir yusupov had just seconds to make the right decision when he discovered the strike caused engine failure with 16 tons of fuel on board no ability to make it back to the runway he knew that an emergency landing could

result in a catastrophe to show you a bit of parole after we to call them the engines became unstable 1st the left one and then the right one we usually simulate the situations when one or 2 engines are off despite all i want to hurt the plane was going down we realized that we didn't have much time just one or 2 minutes to make a decision in a blink of an eye this man with nerves of steel decided still land the aircraft in a nearby cornfield without using the landing gear and shutting off all power to prevent an explosion and various officials praised the crew for their professionalism during the spine chilling landing as well as for a well organized evacuation it is just a company we acted in line with our training with similar situations like this before so there were no surprises the passengers were disciplined listen to our instructions and evacuated very quickly they did as we expected calm down but the cabin crew they told us that everything was spine we were given medical assistance
5:05 am
everything was done quickly and i would like to express my gratitude to the pilot who was flying the plane i think we are all life thanks to him as to cook tell us please how do you feel now did you hurt your leg. you know it's better than if i was there lying on the field so everything is rather good the landing was good the pilots did a great job lead. the plane on the down everything is fine the media was quick to make connections with another such incidents when the loss of life was a virgin thanks to pilot the miracle on the hudson involving a u.s. airways the aircraft flown by captain chesley sullenberger and jeffrey skiles hit a flock of geese after takeoff from new york city's la guardia airport and lost all engine power i'm able to land at any available airport they had to ditch the jet in the hudson river just outside of manhattan with all of the $155.00 passengers

rescued by nearby ferries and bolts thanks to the heroic solve for the captain and his crew their relatives and loved ones self all the people involved will get to see them again. elsewhere this friday to rand's top diplomats jeffords or a fish shop to criticize the u.s. for attempting to block the release of the iranian old tank if it was seized by british royal marines of the coast of brazil to last month having failed to accomplish its objectives through its economic terrorism including depriving cancer patients of medicine the us attempted to abuse the legal system to steal our property on the high seas this piracy attempt is indicative of trumpet ministrations contempt for the law on thursday the u.s. justice department made a last minute up location to gibraltar asking it not to release the grace one which was accused of illegally shipping oil to syria but a court of the british overseas territory nonetheless decided to release the vessel

and its 4 crew members the tank is expected to set sail soon gibraltar 1st minister says the detention was lifted after receiving formal written assurances from tehran . the grace one is therefore now released from detention under the sanctions act by operational law on the 30th of august i received assurances from the republic of iran that if released the destination of the grace one would not be an entity that is subject to european union sanctions i welcome that assurance iranian authorities have denied the charge of the gracefulness shipping order syrian bridgeview sanctions 2 weeks of the vessel was impounded arraign round then seized a british you may recall the strait of hormuz claiming it had violated international law the us then later announced its intention to create a naval coalition to combat the reigning aggression in the strait but political analysts shabbir razvi told us america's pressure campaign against surrounding things is faltering right now. really it's very clear that the policy that the

hawks or what mr zarif calls the b. team appears to be losing on all fronts based upon piro recently wrote an op pad on the 8th of august saying that you know the extreme pressure that's being applied on iran economic warfare that is taking place is bearing fruit but the reality is that all of the 12 points that mr pompey are listed in his speech earlier this year iran is not abiding by any of those and has no intention of really succumbing to the pressure from washington and it is continuing to operate quite effectively albeit with lots of pressure and the economic situation becoming very difficult in iran. the u.k.'s home office has launched a new initiative aimed at trying to tackle soaring rates of knife crime it's announced now it's going to be printing warnings and real life stories on takeaway

chicken boxes the move those already drawn some criticism from the public and politicians a lot saskia taylor's got more of a reaction. he'd be forgiven for thinking u.k.'s only current power. talk is with brussels but on the streets of britain doesn't move bloody fight unfolding rising knife crime has of rapidly become a place with 86 fatalities in london alone since january and in the past 12 months there have been over 43000 knife related offenses across the u.k. and with no sign of the violence abating the home office is getting creative to try to tackle the problem we're rolling out our knife free chicken boxes in over 210 chicken chops in england and wales including morley's dixie chicken and chicken cottage he is real life stories to show people how they can go nigh free that's right philippe is going to wing it when it comes to fight tonight crime the hash tag night free campaigning creates digital posters as well as outreach programs
5:10 am
where people focus at local communities to talk about the risks of carrying weapons it will also see over 300000 boxes and fried chicken shop is just like this across the country to find now that the campaign's hash tag night free and when you open it up on the inside you'll be able to read the stories of young people who shunned a life of crime in favor of sports or music nothing better than a snap and a good read write low 7 teens not everyone agrees other than accusations of mismanaging fun the choice of chicken shops for the campaigns target space has hit us full but with some people is this some kind of joke what have you chosen she can shops what's next my free watermelons instead of investing in a public house approach to violent crime the home office have opted for yet another crude offensive and probably expensive complain they would do better to invest in
5:11 am
our communities not demonize them critics that labeling the campaign for too long racist saying it no i need a few step fried chicken is the black community's choice of food but that no. lives of about community's choice of what put the marketing company behind the campaign is confident it will bring results and has defended its choice of location saying it's a democratic space while the message will reach a wide range of people it was already kind of like it's kind of a new kind of opportunity really just a 2 screens where you're talking to young 100000016 to 34 year olds support for one of these talks and it's just especially a message of kind of recovery and like people to have put more free to think if it has an effect on one person one person can see his message and you. can have that ripple effect and it can change many people's lives so for us it has an impact to one person is doing a job the reason they took actions against overstuffing my stories because there was an unfortunate incident outside one of the bodies inviting him but it was a stop and if you got the opportunity to raise awareness and spread the message
5:12 am
then of course you can add to that now that where you all reach and that kind of those kind of people so it's not just people not cotton self again it's people that been affected by survivors friends people within your community so we decided to see if the campaign has ruffled any hair and i think is the group idea you know because most of the people are using the my for the young people so let's talk about why don't those put on to the books will. you do anything different is a great idea because we need to educate people. to afford to crime special my friends think is really really good because it is home to the kids to say i was going to go to the chicken shop and nights but you keep going to live. i think that it may be a you know public money into more important things yeah i think so because everybody every word is going to come to eat chicken then they're going to sit see this one
5:13 am
do you think they set it off is an embrace i don't think so no i don't believe so piracy the idea that. that's what my. you know it's not race is a show yeah people going to chicken chops they've been chicken chops there's no evidence about it's not about crime not crime it's everywhere. in moscow this is arts international coming up for you we try to answer some pretty big questions the great guests lined up where is the global economy heading with all those fluctuations right now the own going trade war between the u.s. and china never ending directs it's great goes on and on and more important does it mean for you at home we'll stay with this we're going to talk to marcus kroll experience on this is lined up here summer is going to hopefully shed a bit of light on some of those questions give us some answers clear the form we'll be back in 90 seconds.
5:14 am
you know world of big partisan movies lot and conspiracy it's time to wake up to dig deeper to hit the stories that mainstream media refuses to tell more than ever we need to be smarter we need to stop slamming the door on the bats and shouting past each other it's time for critical thinking it's time to fight for the middle for the truth the time is now for washing clothes for watching the hawks. when we all make this manufactured consensus seem to the public well. when the ruling classes protect themselves. when the final merry go round lifts only the one percent. we can
5:15 am
all middle of the room signal. room real new real world. well again this is not international quarter past the hour when it was kevin know it now it's been a turbulent week for global markets again with and listen investors warning that a downturn could be on the horizon adding to the fears germany europe's economic powerhouse posted negative growth for the 2nd quarter of the year looks to be heading for recession so to explore the global economic outlook is going to go up is going to go down let's talk to dr marcus crile finance industry expert based in frankfurt and also author hey there yes so many questions so look at pretty gloomy at the moment with with the trade wars on the horizon here still ongoing and present trying but they're still not decided what's going to happen. first of all
5:16 am
what do you think is that going to be some sort of global recession we're in the doom and gloom headlines nearly every day in the press now what you think is going to happen. well good morning kevin i think. this 1st question. we are heading for a global recession i think yes we are very clearly the signs are not very good and the epicenter of the problem though is not the united states it's not asia although there are also problems coming from the trade dispute and other elements but the center of this crisis i think would be europe things go in cycles when we went through this in 2008 went through it in the ninety's you know how bad do you think it could be. well it depends a lot on the reaction of politics and also on the question of how much the imbalances have been the truth in the past 10 to 12 years at the current trend it
5:17 am
looks like it could be quite a severe recession for a number of reasons not the reasons one is we haven't seen one for 10 to 12 years number 2 is we have a number of imbalances that have been accrued as a result of what i would call in. monetary policies i do think that negative interest rates 0 interest rates and quantitative easing have created a lot of problems that are now looking to rebalance and since we have been doing this for a long time i'm afraid that this one could be a quite severe recession that we're heading into i was like i mean for people all of you we hear about the banks you know are they strong enough to see it through we saw that awful crush in britain back in the eighty's i mean that is the world better place to respond to a recession of the banks ok are they going to hold up and will you say it's going to hit worst in europe. well the problem actually last may was the banks in europe what we've seen here in the last 10 years is that we
5:18 am
have accrued 2 big imbalances one is that the 0 interest rate policy has created an army of what i would call zombie companies companies that have gone bankrupt over the course of the last 10 to 12 years but haven't because they've received the subsidy of 0 interest rates and number 2 is that flat negative 0 interest rate curve destroys the revenue base of commercial banking and there are no savings margins there are no transformation margins credit margins have been shrinking over the course of the last 2 years in this is eroding the quality of the earnings of the banks while at the same time the cruel of. bad companies in their books destroys the quality of their credit book and if these 2 things come together and there is a high likelihood that these 2 things will start to interact and come together during the course of 2020 then we will see quite some severe developments in the european banking and this is why i believe also that your europe is the main problem in the whole scenario right now broadly get out from europe we got america we got china in there spot china's just yes they said it's going to react to any
5:19 am
more tariffs we don't quite know what's going to do but how is that going to play out. well when you look at the trade dispute between the united states and china there are several elements one is. do not think that currently there is a huge impact from that on the world economy and on the business cycle there is a potential long term impact if protections and takes hold in world trade starts to be by all types of your obstacles and those tariffs or non-tariff obstacles but i do not think that. this is the main impact on the economy right now it is a good scapegoat for for other elements and for the other players who basically do not like to see the imbalances that they have been hoping that ring themselves but they do not think that this is the main driver it has a negative impact but it's not huge what about breaks it as it stands at the moment it looks like britain may come out with no deal at the end of october our european
5:20 am
. allies going to fight britain european banks ready for the a no deal or is this could be played off to the very end of the maybe something will come out of it let's talk about you thought about breaks it before we talk about the banks will it be a deal. you know. well 1st of all i do not think there will be a deal because to reach a deal the european commission would have to reopen the negotiations and they cannot reopen the negotiations without losing face they have been repeating that they are not going to do that so many times that they cannot do it without with losing face and this is not so much about political choice but about the personal face losing of the of the acting people in the european politicians scene so i do not expect that there will be new negotiations and therefore i do believe that no deal or no deal is also made a misnomer about it a belief that it's very likely to have more there's a rather good quality w t o deal because the w.t.
5:21 am
old law says also that thing of the noses are in face effectively the default rules that will take hold and of the day europe is going to be worse off if it doesn't manage to strike a deal with the u.k. isn't it so it's not going to be happy about that would it really just to save your face would it would it really say no you're off. well the face saving is one element the other i think is that it is so to speak so to speak in the written rule that europe has decided that leaving the european union should not be easy so the there is a strong incentive to what i would call punish written. and this incentive is so big that they probably are ready to take some damage although i do not believe that the no deal drugs it will create a huge damage to either side it depends a lot on how it how people will react to the situation once it happens only if one
5:22 am
or both players will not stick to the w t o rules once no deal happens then there is indeed a risk of severe damage but as long as all parties stick to the w.t. old rules which they have been signing up to i do not think that the nordic brooks it is a big danger big risk or that it will create a lot but if there is what about if you're in britain though and there's no deal what's that going to mean for people in britain. well i believe that it doesn't mean a lot. there will be no huge impact on the flow of goods and capital and i think that a lot of what you've heard about the dangers of a no deal drugs it is just fear mongering actually what what the. mind of people in the british politics called project fear i think that is a real thing when when we think 2 and a half years before the world has taken place there was the same kind of fear mongering actually it was assumed that britain would fall into a severe recession immediately if people voted to leave the european union and
5:23 am
nothing of the sort happened to the country so i do not see any empirical evidence or. evidence that points in the direction that there will be an economic crisis of any kind being triggered in britain is an old you ok so everyone goes for w t o deal or britain get that now waiting in the wings of course john bolton has said well hey 1st in the queue here will be the u.k. to make deals with america and i suppose after saving face europe won't be too far behind not trying to make deals as well and starting again is that the case or not . actually i do believe that they will do that in the end europe is heading for recession and they will have to do everything in their power . to keep that as short as possible and that includes opening trade opportunities doing trade treaties with all parties involved and voiding any type of additional risk sometimes a recession can clear the heads. yes you tell that to the people who lost their
5:24 am
jobs i think you know up in the north of england right now and with that how many where you see the car manufacturers you see honda pulling out you see big japanese companies pulling out thousands of jobs going well that happened anyway. well you know the thing is that these types of movements of production have always been taking place in one direction or the other us there are some companies in continental europe considering going to britain there are some companies doing the other way round it depends on the on the huge number of factors that go into these types of decisions and i do not believe that it is a bigger one than many others so i wouldn't read too much into individual decisions by individual companies it's always easy to attribute it to breaks it or to any other development but in the fact this is a meeting that we didn't mention a decision a framework that companies apply and one of causal. usually do not lead to
5:25 am
the right answers. on the leno taking up a new post and we're also hearing the european central bank says the u.k. bank should speed up their brakes at preparations as far as the u.k. is concerned as far as the european banks are concerned have they done enough do you think. well i do think that european as well as british banks have done a lot because as far as i can say from the communication i have as many banks on both sides of the channel they have been aware of the possibility of a no deal breaks it all along. this is now to do in our view ongoing and we haven't seen good solutions other than default the default of no deal breaks it on the table everything that has been negotiated has been rejected so banks have been observing these developments they have not been sitting idly by and i do not think that they are not well prepared i think they have done their homework on both sides of the trail talking about leave for impose the policy chief on the law and
5:26 am
she takes up a new post they must be top of her agenda will obviously look after europe. well i think that what was front and really would have to do is to restore trust not only between britain and the rest of europe but also within the e.u. 27 that are now left behind by britain i think that this trust must be restored by respecting what countries like italy poland and others are wanting which is effectively a community that is less bureaucratic listen to a list dick. has more subsidiarity more decision making powers in the in the in the capitals and not in brussels and so on and so on and i think that this is a change of course that she needs to go for i have my doubts though that she will be able to push this through in the bureaucratic environment of process that i was going to say i mean this populist drive right now is that good news for your
5:27 am
average european at home i mean it's ok to look at the trouble italy's ongoing politicians are in right now it's easy to promise but harder to deliver isn't it. well i don't i don't think it's so much a question of populist policies in italy or elsewhere i think it's more the general perception of the people that too much that realisation and too much bureaucracy has been going on and i do not think that brokers the interns are as asian will solve the problems that these people face i think there is a general trend that brothers have been absorbing more and more power over the last 2 years under the flag of ever closer union and their people are just tired of it and i do not think it has any to anything to do with populism i think that a new balance has to be found between the role of the nations inside the european union and the european union itself and this needs to be it and i think if that
5:28 am
happens if this type of reform happens there will be much less talk of a populist insert insurgency or whatever you want to call it and people will refocus on on the work and how to get things right and things done dr marcus call of ally was surely one of thailand 1015 is flown by the good old program with the open come back again get your thoughts again it's been a great 7 the program dr marcus troll the financial expert and author on the line from germany thank you sir have a good day it's been a pleasure. thank you for watching to say sorry we're out of time so. so many more of our stories follows on twitter follows on facebook as well don't let are all the headlines that go straight to mobile device kevin thank you for watching out to international. paradise with around into around the experimentation field cultural

chemicals we know that these chemicals have consequences they are major irritants there's no question otherwise why would the chemical company workers themselves be geared up that suited up locals attempt to combat the on regulated experiments that often in day you have many of these people have one foot into the biotech pharma and the other foot in the government regulatory bodies this kind of collusion is reprehensible while the battle goes on the chemicals continue to poison hawaii and its people so one has to ask the question whether there is a form of environmental research going on in hawaii whether these companies feel they can get away with this because the people have less political power.
