injured and are hospitalized now we also know with the base it's been in the news before because it had a sizeable american presence that's where american troops where in the part of the country it's what about 50 miles 80 kilometers north of are they still there as an aside to that are american troops likely have been the target yeah well actually there are still some american military advisers left at that base but the majority of them have been pulled out since the recent tensions the recent spike in tensions between the u.s. and iran recently let's not forget that just last week a u.s. airstrike killed the high ranking coots commander qassam soleimani and iran retaliation for that and it came as 2 airstrikes against u.s. military bases in iraq and nobody was killed or injured but it definitely has led to a rise in tensions between those 2 countries in the region and to run actually also
