hello there i'm military and you're watching in question broadcasting live from our to america's national headquarters in washington d.c. we want to welcome our viewers from across the nation and all around the world here are today's top stories 1st thousands of americans nationwide are rallying to reopen the economy adding more pressure and state law plus the trumpet ministration and congress are close to a deal to help give small businesses get a boost this while oil prices take the historic plunge when to discuss it then tiger king star joe exotic sport a small victory as an extension was granted in his wrongful imprisonment lawsuit talked with our friend rick sanchez about this case all right it's time to boot up
3:01 pm
your new i hear. what president trump has launched his initiative to reopen america in the coming weeks americans across the country took to the streets calling for changes to be made right now but while some demonstrators say they are in favor of the administration others have criticized its response to the pandemic artie's rachel blevins is joining us live from the newsroom with more details to all of this so rachel what can you tell us well manila in the midst of a nationwide walk down many americans are taking to the streets voicing their opposition to the ongoing restrictions in the name of stopping the coronavirus over the weekend demonstrations were carried out in florida virginia michigan maryland texas california and 10 other states in idaho over 1000 protesters broke social distancing protocols. as they gathered outside of the state capitol building in
3:02 pm
boise many of them wave signs that read there is no justification for taking individual freedom in the guise of public safety and poverty kills the state's republican governor has promised to begin lifting some restrictions on businesses while the stay at home order remains in effect until the end of the month the same message was heard in indiana where dozens gathered outside of the governor's mansion with signs that read no more nanny state all jobs are essential and we won't work no welfare hundreds of protesters were also seen outside of the texas state capitol building in austin despite the republican governor's promise to begin lifting restrictions as early as this week their signs reflected opposition to the restrictions on businesses mandatory vaccines and the current lockdown which they feel is infringing upon their constitutional rights. but that is understandable you can't write a letter for every 40 responsibility for how to know how to tell us how to do that because it's a. waste. demonstrations in denver colorado
3:03 pm
saw protesters both for and against the ongoing lockdown which led to arguments in the crowd counter protesters included medical workers who stopped traffic in the streets one nurse was quoted as saying the protest felt like a slap in the face to medical workers protesters opted to keep their distance from one another in arizona where car circled the capitol building in phoenix to form a gridlock their criticism was aimed at the state's republican governor with signs that said let businesses and consumers decide what's essential not politicians hundreds of protesters took part in demonstrations across the state of nevada and many were seen holding signs in support of president trump residents accuse their democratic governor of fueling the current unemployment epidemic in the state. governor system is responsible for the shutdown of the economy in the. period where tourism based economy effectively shut it down 31 out of 10 the veterans out of
3:04 pm
work it's unacceptable. now on to twitter to express his support for what he called the liberation of michigan minnesota and virginia all states with democratic governors not all of the protests were in support of the president and his policies activist delivered fake body bags complete with death certificates displayed signature to san francisco federal building in california and of the trump international hotel in new york city as their way to condemn his administration's response to the virus now despite the stay at home orders and the presence of police on the ground protests were largely peaceful as the nation tackles the question of how to deal with record breaking unemployment in the face of a global pandemic reporting in the newsroom rachel blevins artsy. while many around the country are protesting to get back to business as usual today one business actually is r.t. it's fair project is joining us now with more on boeing employees heading back to work area i mean how is this even possible well middle we're actually talking 27000
3:05 pm
employees going back to work in washington state which is actually the very 1st state to see the outbreak of cope at 19 now this is the very 1st business on a large scale to get back to work but it's not going to be business as usual now during the weeks long shutdown boeing did go through and did a deep cleaning at their facility near seattle but in light of the outbreak things aren't going to be as usual now boy will have employees come in and a staggered shift times there's going to be marks on the floor for that 6 foot social distancing workers are going to have to wear face masks and there will also be wellness checks every shift where you'll see voluntary temperature screenings now washington state is still under a stay at home order but boeing's assembly operations are considered essential business making them exempt now monday workers for the 737-747-7677 extension 77 planes they're going to be back at work with most of all of those 27000 employees returning to work on wednesday wow. but
3:06 pm
now boeing has had a lot going on obviously. in particular with those max jets and those 2 fatal crashes but everybody still remembers fresh in our minds and the planes are still grounded it's been over a year how could boeing bring back these employees when all these planes are grounded and no one is traveling so how does that make any sense adding that to. boeing customers who actually canceled their orders as well we're talking canceling $150.00 jets alone in march and just today company shares fell more than 3 percent after the china development bank financial leasing company they canceled their purchase of $29.00 boeing $737.00 max jets still though boeing did have an order to make $31.00 jets but those are for military aircraft and actually one is a freighter for 5 x. but then just in the past day you had a big order come in from germany with the country's defense minister confirming their decision of ordering 30 f.a.
3:07 pm
18 super hornets and 15 growlers bell ok what about this coronavirus stimulus bill you had many on both sides of the aisle getting a degree at boeing that they roughly got what $25000000000.00 or so despite their massive failures especially with those max jets i mean they're getting bailed out right but that bell of 25000000000 though there are some strict conditions on that one namely that the money can only be used to continue paying their nearly 161000 employees all the way to september they can't have any job cuts or layoffs now when the bill was signed even president he recognized boeing's failures but said it was important to keep them afloat listen here. we have a great plan for the airlines we're going to keep the early show you know it's never been a good news is but it's a very vital business for the country we can't live in and they have been devoting its you know so much potential you talk about potential can anything have more potential than that. you know a major industry for the united states now manila boeing c.e.o.
3:08 pm
says that as far as reopening and there are new safety measures in place the company is in uncharted territory no pun intended and it could forever change the business and the industry because of this pandemic but that boeing is taking it day by day and hoping that is going to come out strong and competitive now erin fronsac thank you for giving us that update what a wild story thank you. a trumpet ministration and congress are set to agree on about $450000000000.00 in additional stimulus for small businesses hospitals and coronavirus testing the goal is to infuse more cash into the s.b.a. payroll protection program in order to keep a small businesses afloat meantime u.s. oil prices crash to record lows so here to just discuss all of that boom bust co-host and investigative journalist grant's one so ben this agreement has taken well over a week to put together and part of the reason is that both democrats and republicans
3:09 pm
keep just adding other projects to be funded to write you know they do they both sides continue to try to negotiate this and the bottom line is you know mitch mcconnell there's a lot of criticism for him on a lot of issues but on this particular issue i think he did the right thing which was over a week ago he said this payroll protection money is going to run out let's just add 250000000000 to it let's just get that part of it and not add anything else and that was defeated and now we've had kind of a week of going back and forth meanwhile it's been almost a week that program manila has been completely out of money $350000000000.00 dollars 'd to go to small businesses and there are tens of thousands of small businesses who have so. so far gotten nothing on top of that the s.b.a. keeps changing it so under this plan what it would be is about $300000000000.00 additional dollars those would go to small businesses for the p.p.p. and then another 50000000000 would be available to small businesses for something called the small business disaster fund not exactly sure how you would qualify for
3:10 pm
that because it feels like right now pretty much all small businesses think they're in a disaster and then on top of that they want to add $75000000000.00 to go to hospitals and $25000000000.00 for additional testing that's kind of what's all wrapped up in this $450000000000.00 yeah and obviously we just heard the news of shake shack saying they're going to give back some of that money because the pool is empty. right they say they're going to get back about $10000000.00 which again is is not an enormous amount of money but it still helps right now that it's in the shade which i couldn't say that i think you know is definitely commendable when you have so many small businesses that have not been able to get anything i mean originally remember they were supposed every small business that applied was supposed to get $10000.00 within 3 days of the application and most law businesses did not get that they got nothing so there's a lot of business owners right now who are sitting there saying i need something meanwhile they are still required under their contracts to pay rent pay insurance to pay for utilities that those bills don't just go away i hope the other big
3:11 pm
corporations you know like other food industry giants give back some of their money like like shake shack is dead and the democrats have i have been calling for additional funding for state and local governments will that be on this bill. so it's not going to be in this bill democrats are kind of slowed down this process of getting the bill passed because they have said they wanted additional funding for local governments and for state governments as you mentioned and they're looking for you know several $100000000000.00 to go there as well in this one in particular steve newton the treasury secretary and mitch mcconnell have both said that's not going to happen in this bill it might. and they say in later bills but not in this one that this one is going to be focused primarily on small businesses which i think personally is the right answer because look states and local governments do need additional help but the reality is is that it's small business owners being told you cannot have your business open and you cannot work right now
3:12 pm
and you cannot pay your employees and remember small businesses employ how for the people in this country so it's you know when people hear this and they say oh economy that equals wall street and corporations no it doesn't yes walter and corporations suck up a lot of the oxygen in the room but small businesses are the lifeblood of most american jobs and they're not open right now and last man what about oil prices they're on track for their worst day so far on record with crude storage facilities i mean they are piling up they are full so simply put there's no demand for any oil so what does that mean for us consumers well you would think it's a good thing so so in terms of the oil price this is how incredible that is basically you know everything with west texas intermediate crude oil that sets this price is all speculation you know that middle it's all speculation it's not based on reality but based on that speculation the price is below a dollar a barrel right now and it has dropped to a staggeringly low amount in fact some headlines read price for oil falls below 0
3:13 pm
for the oil delivery because there's so much supply right now there's no demand for it and yet there's already a projection that if you look towards november the price for that same barrel of crude oil that is really at a dollar today will be worth $30.00 in november because the expectation is that once this ins and by the way no one's really able to use this oil right now so it's not really helping consumers when consumers do start using it again because the supply is being held down the price is just going to get jacked back up again and then just lastly how is it that we don't call that price gouging you know you have all this talk right now about price gouging and. the guy selling. it was on but how was it not a word to order to actually hold down the supply when this is over so the price spikes again even though right now we have more oil not being used at any other time possibly in our history because ben you and i are not a part of this giant cartel. that's really what it is and
3:14 pm
honestly because you and i don't matter because every time they talk about essential businesses where they mean it's essential for some people to make a lot of money and we're not on the web i don't know how you get on but let me know if you find out someone has always appreciate the update thank you. elsewhere around the world today german chancellor angela merkel urged fellow citizens to remain on alert as the country takes its 1st steps in reopening some businesses and restarting public life last friday federal and state officials ruled to reopen non-essential shops with hygiene precautions however local warns the country could return to a full shutdown if corona virus infections begin to rise again. then over to brazil where supporters of presidential year both n.r.o. took to the streets of sao paulo to demand the coronavirus restrictions be lifted on saturday protesters denounce the strict quarantine measures put in place by the governor of south hollow meantime just days after bolton are fired his health
3:15 pm
minister after disagreeing on social distancing the brazilian president says he wants his new health minister to help protect the country's health while restarting the economy. and tiger king star joe exotic has been granted an extension in his wrongful imprisonment lawsuit claiming he was in equipped with the necessary tools to appeal the conviction so we'll talk with our friend rick sanchez coming up next and then over at the sports h.q. regina hamm shares a viral tennis facia and taking to the rooftops and italy will be right back. coby 19 pandemic not only sees much of the world in lockdown but it is also devastation economies then demi has been painful recovering from it maybe even more

3:18 pm
oklahoma judge grants him more time to challenge his convictions and he was convicted on various charges ranging from murder for hire to animal cruelty so joining us to discuss this controversial character rick sanchez host of the news with rick sanchez so rick tell us what's going on there from his jail cell in oklahoma. so for starters bonilla this is the story of a fellow named joseph mole the nado. for those of you who have no idea who joseph mo the motto 1 is is he is joe exotic in other words to the rest of the world he's joe exotic some people call him the tiger king which is actually the name of the show so he says that the charges that were filed against him are bogus he says the prosecutor who prosecuted him is a bad guy and a liar and he says that the federal government more specifically
3:19 pm
the department of fish and wildlife through the department of interior are also liars and that much of what they have said that he did is simply not true ok everybody says that everybody who is found guilty of anything always has to have some kind of appeal other going to fight it blah blah blah ok so so here's what he did he decided he's going to sue both the federal government the part of the interior and the prosecutor he's suing them for $94000000.00 right and he says that the charges that he was convicted of are all bogus so there was a judge who was about to throw out this whole thing they were going to dismiss his lawsuit so this guy joe says. apparently decided well wait a minute that's not fair because right now because of this corona virus thing i'm not able to even have a defense i can't communicate with my lawyers i can't even get to a computer nothing is working oh and i'm in isolation because everybody in my jail
3:20 pm
here in texas apparently has coronavirus and they're afraid i'm going to get it so they put me in isolation so i have access to nothing so he sits down and he writes a hand written letter to a federal judge an appeals judge the district judge said writes this handwritten letter and the judge says you know you're right it's not fair regardless i don't even know what your case is i don't know if it's got any standing but i'm going to go ahead and give you an extension i'm going to give you another 30 days so that you can bring the lawsuit so this lawsuit that was supposed to be dismissed he now has another 30 days to be able to bring it forward which means ok i guess he still has a shot now now this is important because we talked about the charges of this can go through them real quick manila because a lot of people don't know what's this how you're going to orient over right now we're heard about everybody's heard about this woman carol basket but lists of falsifying wildlife records killing 5 tigers selling tiger cubs and attempting to
3:21 pm
arrange the murder of carol baskin by paying a hitman $30000.00 those are the charges that he's been convicted of and that's why he's in prison 30000 i thought it was like 3 and what i mean part of the controversy now i like and like many other americans rick i don't know about you but was obsessed and binge watch this thing if i don't know you i don't know if you did but me like the millions of others we did this but i don't get it why were we glued to this train wreck. my wife susie and cannot stop talking about the show she and a lot of my friends are absolutely like you i thought you know i took you for somebody who would be a sucker for this kind of thing 2. look i have to admit i couldn't stop watching it at 1st also but then i got it started getting almost too weird too bizarre to nefarious and i kind of like ok i feel like after i've finished watching
3:22 pm
a couple of those episodes toward the end there i had to dig a shower and i mean there's just so much go oh and by the way i've got something else to new things to do to new developments in the last 48 hours the state of minnesota is now going after him and they may soon charge him for trying to take wolves out of minnesota can't but you can't you can't cross state lines with wild animals that's a that's against a federal law and also one of his buddies there one of the guys who worked in his one of the zookeepers or whatever is now doing an interview saying that he did some pretty horrible things with the animals that may involve things that i would almost prefer not even to talk about on camera so on top of the charges he's trying to get thrown out there may be more coming these are not good times for joseph moulton not open yeah i don't i don't know we all watch that rick because there's we're just out of things to watch because we're stuck at home but at any rate it is definitely
3:23 pm
a fascinating story here the fact that he appears here. it's the biggest it's the number one most watched show in netflix for 2 and a half weeks running and they're now saying it may break all the records that there had because well you know a lot of people got nothing else to do but sit and watch netflix so fascinated me don't we because it's such a great quality show right now you tell me that credo you would rather just fascinating characters and just a weird cast of characters that i mean you can't make this stuff up and that's why we're documentary right we'll leave it right there my friend and i do. rick sanchez always appreciate updates on these weird stories thank you. there for your. other news were around the world israel's prime minister benjamin netanyahu and his main rival have agreed to form an emergency government under this deal if it acted benjamin netanyahu would remain the prime minister for the next 18 months and then he'll hand it over to benny gantz who would then hold it for another 18 and that
3:24 pm
move will likely avert possibly a 4th election and keep netanyahu in power while he faces trial on corruption charges. and tech giants like google and facebook now have to pay local media in australia for using their content this as advertising revenue takes a hit amid koeppen $18.00 now the australian government made that announcement on monday saying it will release draft rules for the tech giants to pay their fair compensation for content from news media. all right let's go over to regina hamm of the sports h.q. regina most of us are stuck inside we're trying to stay active in some way but some kids in italy found a way to kind of beat that boredom and they did a really good job because you know all the world of sports are put on hold especially in tennis a.t.p. has put all those related activities on hold until at least a lot at least july however in italy that is not stopping fans from taking the sport to literal new heights junior players in the italian city of the gotta get

creative to play tennis it's like taking it to the roof both girls are maintaining social distancing of course and since that clip has been uploaded social media has been viewed 450000 times on instagram and 7000000 views on twitter it's one of the most watched tweets in the a.t.p. tours accounts history and it features part of their tennis at home campaign stars like rainey to the final shape in stephanus to see fest he sure of the video and many others are applauding the girl's efforts to keep up the game and having fun and since april 13th nearly $80000.00 posts are part of that tennis at home movement it's a pretty successful campaign. and stretching it to the field major league baseball united states is still working through. lance to open and fans are hungry for highlights in china their league started with quite the bench clearing brawl between the rackets in monkeys and the food on guardians guardians relying on starting right handed pitcher henry sosa to keep him from being swept in the series tough like in the promising bargain center fielder shenzhou n.c. with an r.b.i. single to left field bringing home shane pynchon guardians on the board with one
3:26 pm
the bottom 4th all tied up to account 2 outs so the pitch a little too far inside to the monkey 2nd baseman quenching and joe umpire not too happy to give the guardians a warning they clearly don't listen and we go on next pitch hits and when in the back and that is about it both teams both umpires and managers had enough that turned into a brawl both teams emptying their benches and managers are just trying to get everyone stop fighting we need to go back to the game even though nobody's watching we still get back to baseball eventually got a 5th monkey shende shooting with the r.b.i. single to center field then home lane champagne he's going to around 30 monkeys up to one bomb and 7 the guardian fall further behind so it gives up an r.b.i. double to lay out who you t. long he's been around 3rd again make it the home and put the monkeys up $3.00 to $1.00 and that's about it top of the 9th bases are going to be loaded full count monkey closures chenier and so on stretched out guardians a 3rd baseman leash on shane looking and the monkeys end of sweeping the series
