hold talk with our very own rick sanchez about this wild case all right it's time to shoot your new i q. president trump has launched his initiative to reopen america in the coming weeks americans across the country took to the streets calling for changes to be made now but while some demonstrators say they were in favor of the administration others criticized its response to the coronavirus pandemic argues rachel blevins gives us the details. many americans are taking to the streets voicing their opposition to the ongoing restrictions in the name of stopping the coronavirus over the weekend demonstrations were carried out in florida virginia michigan maryland texas california and 10 other states in idaho over 1000 protesters broke social distancing protocol. as they gathered outside of the state capitol building in

boise many of them waved signs that read there is no justification for taking individual freedom in the guise of public safety and poverty kills the state's republican governor has promised to begin lifting some restrictions on businesses while the stay at home order remains in effect until the end of the month the same message was heard in indiana where dozens gathered outside of the governor's mansion with signs that read no more nanny state all jobs are essential and we want work not welfare hundreds of protesters were also seen outside of the texas state capitol building in austin despite the republican governor's promise to begin lifting restrictions as early as this week their signs reflected opposition to the restrictions on businesses mandatory vaccines and the current lockdown which they feel is infringing upon their constitutional rights but. you can't write a letter for every 40 responsibility for. telling them the easiest.

ways. demonstrations in denver colorado saw protesters both for and against the ongoing lockdown which led to arguments in the crowd counter protesters included medical workers who stopped traffic in the streets one nurse was quoted as saying the protests felt like a slap in the face to medical workers protesters opted to keep their distance from one another in arizona where car circled the capitol building in phoenix to form a gridlock their criticism was aimed at the state's republican governor with signs that said let businesses and consumers decide what's essential not politicians hundreds of protesters took part in demonstrations across the state of nevada and many were seen holding signs in support of president trump residents accuse their democratic governor of fueling the current unemployment epidemic in the state. governor says he's responsible for the shutdown. their tourism based economy effectively shut it down. one. the veterans out of work it's unacceptable.

now while trump took to twitter to express his support for what he called the liberation of michigan minnesota and virginia all states with democratic governors not all of the protests were in support of the president and his policies activist delivered fake body bags complete with death certificates displayed signature to san francisco federal building in california and of the trump international hotel in new york city as their way to condemn his administration's response to the virus now despite the stay at home orders and the presence of police on the ground protests were largely peaceful as the nation tackles the question of how to deal with record breaking unemployment in the face of a global pandemic reporting in the newsroom rachel blevins r.t. . across the country a growing trend of americans foregoing local and state orders to remain at home taking to their state's capital to protest lockdown measures meant to curb the spread of coronavirus it would appear that those demonstrators and those who

criticize them fall right down party lines joining in on this discussion our panel today in michigan conservative radio host and broadcaster steve gruber and the host of watching the hawks tyrrel ventura way and so steve over to you 1st you went to the lansing protest to cover it for your show we saw the footage some of these folks toting guns some wearing face masks none really observing the social distancing guidelines and we were we've these outside observers what are we missing here. well accurate reporting would be a start let's start with the fact there were about 40000 people in lansing on wednesday april the 15th the vast majority of which were in their automobiles a couple of 100 up on the lawn of the state capitol yes and some guns and some folks that didn't have face masks on but the vast majority of the folks were there for operation gridlock shutting down the capital city tens of thousands in their cars honking their horns their businesses displaying the size of their vehicles be

it a fact businesses lawn and garden companies a golfing resorts and so forth saying governor open our state back up and so what you saw on t.v. as a distraction a very small sample what you really saw were people there protesting the shutdown of michigan 1200000 jobs have been lost in michigan 22000000 around the country the economic devastation from this covert 1000 pandemic will reach for years to come and this hasn't been done by a virus it's been done by politicians like governors who decide to shut down their states and then remain shut down even though the models continue to fail the model is that governor whitman said on march the 23rd predicted 7000000 people in michigan would be sick 1000000 would need the hospital certainly not true she said i came from the university of michigan study i've not been able to find such a study the point is other states are ready to open now georgia is opening south carolina alabama ohio probably florida could open because these governors realize that if you continue to shut everything down the devastation will go on for
7:07 pm
a very long time and tie in it appears as though trump supporters are the folks rallying urging president try to reopen america and meanwhile dems are protesting in the other direction saying he is not doing enough to protect americans he's stuck between a rock and a hard place so what do you make of these demonstrations what do i make of these demonstrations well it breaks my heart because what i see is a lot of people out there who are you know kind of lemmings who are following you know the great leader syndrome clear at the end of at the end. the day the sad thing is this is these are people who are scared these are people who are afraid these are people who are see you know their bank accounts dwindling in the light of having to stay at home and they're in the you know the fear and denial and anger stage of what happens when you when you're dealing with and i sure like this and the sad thing is you have a lot of people out there who aren't scientists aren't doctors aren't people aren't epidemiology just telling them no you can go back to work it's ok if we lose
7:08 pm
a few for the good of the economy and at the end of the day i will never put the healthiness of an economy above the healthiness of my fellow man and as far as the liberty of fighting for liberty and we want our liberties back well there's also the liberty of i would like my liberty not to get sick the same as you know i would like my person of happiness in life not to be infringed by those who would open too soon in the face of all this at the end of the day we are facing a pandemic it's a virus it's not a terrorist cell it's a virus with one mission and one mission only and that is to get you sick and until you get that under control until you have proper testing and a vaccine which is still probably more than a year away you are never going to be safe and you have to treat it as such and listen to those that know and ask if i'll let you respond to that but in your state i read a couple of polls that it seems like the majority of people in michigan are happy with us lock down they want to continue it absolutely not anti-roll you should go
7:09 pm
back and back on your couch where you belong i will live in fear i want to live in fear in michigan and the idea that somehow this breaks along party lines absolutely absurd i talked to a cardiologist here to a local hospital just this week he has 0 patients in his cardiac ward why because hospitals are closed to all patients except kovac 1000 patients and that's affected detroit but other hospitals around the state are empty laying people off he tried medical center for 450 just a couple of days ago the devastation also extends to dentists and business owners all closed because of these orders. the governance and the fact of the matter is there may never be a vaccine we need to learn to live with this virus affectively not hiding under our couch not living in fear and let me be clear about this your mental health your physical health your well being that's not my responsibility if you are i'm you know deficient then please take steps to protect yourself if you're a vulnerable person please take steps to protect yourself but don't expect the

world to sacrifice their job their career their families their food on their tables so that you can live in fear if you're afraid i'm sorry ok states of models have failed see the models have absolutely failed and that's the bottom line of the models failed stever of the models actually or should we be celebrating the fact that they fail because we've been able to stay home because we've been able to protect ourselves maybe that's why the models are clearly the monomania moment when you actually stop wanting to your brothers and sisters across this country every tuesday by us i want you khana me that doesn't suit them that doesn't work for them that's not there for them it's only for the one percent of this country then maybe maybe you'll actually grow a heart complete and actually well there are a lot of i rather than sister that no one's going to even notice but you bring up a good point a lot of people are hurting right now not from the crowd of virus they're hurting financially there's a lot of people who the stimulus checks will not reach or their money will be garnished for various reasons some of these folks are day by day cash workers a disproportionate number of them are black and brown people as
7:11 pm
a state you don't really tend to see those people on the protest line why not. those people were there at the protest line again you need accurate coverage of what was going on there were tens of thousands of people there covering all spectrums all races all age groups everybody was there because they realized that the real devastation is that poverty and poverty kills alcohol abuse drug abuse suicide sheriffs in this state are backing up behind the people saying they will not enforce these ridiculous unconstitutional orders because they've seen things like 30 percent increases in domestic vial. it's called children that would normally be in school are home facing abusers that now don't have jobs and therefore child abuse is up domestic abuse is up alcohol abuse drug abuse and yes suicides the real price of this pandemic doesn't come from the virus it comes from politicians that's the bottom line and you can argue about it and try to justify why it's ok about staying alive but a lot of these folks well if they lose their job and lose their marriage and lose
7:12 pm
their home made there's not much left to live for anyway let's talk about the real price that's being paid across this country well i think i think here's here's the very simplest take you can take is that it is an economy and is that a government worth keeping if it cannot protect you within 4 weeks if it can if it can exist without everything falling to pieces without our leadership falling to pieces without our politicians falling to pieces if it can exist by keeping its people safe for a few months by saying hey stay home from work be safe we'll take care of you during this time if they can't do that then is an economy worth keeping is that a government worth keeping by and large nancy pelosi donald trump mitch mcconnell they failed the american people and ultimately in my opinion they are responsible for the upwards of 40000 deaths that our brothers and sisters our fellow citizens have face and sir don't ever question don't ever ever question whether i'm a coward or not again i am going to say if i have to admit that i cared about it as
7:13 pm
an act and i don't want to condemn you to try to remember the wall street's bottom line all right gentlemen i've got to go to the streets bottom i'm going for the small business person and the individual who's lost a job 1500000 american 22000000 across the country the real penalty here is poverty and poverty kills more than this virus ever will are i got to leave it right there guys steve gruber anti-roll ventura a lot more to discuss here thank you so much for weighing in on this thank you thank you. elsewhere around the world german chancellor angela merkel urged fellow citizens to remain on. alert as the country takes its 1st steps in reopening some businesses and restarting public life last friday federal and state officials ruled to reopen non-essential shops with precautions though however local warns that the country could return to a full shutdown if corona virus infections begin to rise again. and right here in the nation's capital the army corps of engineers is starting to build a makeshift hospital at the washington d.c.

netflix's tiger king joe exotic will have another month to plead his case as an oklahoma judge granting more time to challenge his convictions and he was convicted on various charges ranging from murder for hire to animal cruelty so joining us to discuss this controversial character rick sanchez host of the news with rick sanchez so rick tell us all what's going on there from his jail cell in oklahoma. so for starters but this is the story of a fellow named joseph mole the nado. for those of you who have no idea who joseph the motto 1 is is he is joe exotic in other words to the rest of the world he's joe exotic some people call him the tiger king which is actually the name of the show so he says that the charges that were filed against him are bogus he
7:18 pm
says the prosecutor who prosecuted him is a bad guy and a liar and he says that the federal government more specifically the department of fish and wildlife through the department of interior are also liars and that much of what they have said that he did is simply not true ok everybody says that everybody who is found guilty of anything always has to have some kind of appeal of they're going to fight it blah blah blah ok so so here's what he did he decided he's going to sue both the federal government the part of the interior and the prosecutor he's suing them for $94000000.00 and he says that the charges that he was convicted of are all bogus so there was a judge who was about to throw out this whole thing they were going to dismiss his lawsuit so this guy joe says put saw up. fairly decided well wait a minute that's not fair because right now because of this corona virus thing i'm
7:19 pm
not able to even have a defense i can't communicate with my lawyers i can't even get to a computer nothing is working oh and i'm in isolation because everybody in my jail here in texas apparently has coronavirus and they're afraid i'm going to get it so they put me in isolation so i have access to nothing so he sits down and he writes a hand written letter to a federal judge an appeals judge a district judge say writes this handwritten letter and the judge says. you know you're right it's not fair regardless i don't even know what your case is i don't know if it's got any standing but i'm going to go ahead and give you an extension i'm going to give you another 30 days so that you can bring the lawsuit so this lawsuit that was supposed to be dismissed he now has another 30 days to be able to bring it forward which means ok i guess he still has a shot now now this is important because we talked about the charges i just can't
7:20 pm
go through them real quick because a lot of people don't know what's this how you're going to arrange overwrites care where he's heard about everybody's heard about this woman carol basket but lists of falsifying wildlife records killing 5 tigers selling tiger cubs and attempting to arrange the murder of carol baskin by paying a hitman $30000.00 those are the charges that he's been convicted of and that's why he's in prison 30000 i thought it was like 3 and just what i mean part of the controversy now i like and like many other americans rick i don't know about you but was fast and binge watch this thing if i don't know you i don't know if you did but like the millions of others we did this but i don't get it why were we glued to this train wreck. my wife susie and cannot stop talking about the show she a lot of my friends are absolutely like you you know i took you for some. he would be for this kind of thing 2. look i have to admit i couldn't stop watching it at
7:21 pm
1st also but then i got started getting almost too weird to bizarre to nefarious and i kind of like ok i feel like after i've finished watching a couple of those episodes toward the end there i had to dig a shower and i mean there's just so much go oh and by the way i've got something else to new things to do to new developments in the last 48 hours the state of minnesota is now going after him and they may soon charge him for trying to take wolves out of minnesota. and you can't you can't cross state lines with wild animals that's a that's against a federal law and also one of his buddies there one of the guys who worked in his one of the zookeepers or whatever is now doing an interview saying that he did some pretty horrible things with the animals that may involve things that i would almost prefer not even to talk about on camera so on top of the charges he's trying to get through now there may be more coming these are not good times for joseph. yeah i
