they did back in 0607 and 08 which is using these mortgage backed securities overinflating their values selling them to investors knowing they're going to fail and reaping a huge profit from it now a lot of that i'm sure a lot of people say i don't understand most of those words you just said so rule quick the mortgage backed security what that is you get all these but the bank takes a bunch of different mortgages puts them together in a bundle and then it sells that bundle to an investor like a bond and as people pay the mortgages the people who invested in that get paid now if the people don't pay the mortgages the investors have lost their money but the bank made all the money up front right so what's happening now is we saw with the housing industry last time we had bankers we had banks and bankers credible banks i mean who used to be. you know they were just making stuff up somebody would come in

and they would say well we know that you're only making $30000.00 a year but we want to put you in this 300000 dollar home so they would just make stuff up they would so they're doing it again but this time they're doing it with commercial property and they're bundling all this garbage up this garbage and garbage comes in information that's garbage comes in says that this investor can't afford to to can afford this building they know they can't so actually they're actually they're actually phony end up applications aren't they right what whistleblowers have said is that some of these applications they're seeing the income of the person seeking the loan the bank is forging it up to 30 percent so if you're making $100000.00 a year the bank says you know what we're going to put down that you're making $130000.00 a year because that's going to bump you up in income bracket and now you're going to be. you know you qualify for. this loan that we know you can't pay and that's

that's the kicker here and again as you mentioned now they're doing it with the retail spaces and retail is dying across the run injury rug and it might after this cove the pandemic you know people are saying do we really need brick and mortar right can't we work from home i think it's going to take a big hit the point is this is the same criminals doing the same criminal activity again and what's the worst thing the worst thing is that we have there's not been any reform at all for the credit rating agencies right why is that important well that's important because these credit rating agencies are the ones they come and they tell you whether or not this is worthwhile investment if this is something that's even going to to pay off if this bank is even credible you know and because we haven't changed the way it's all the same people doing the same day he's working with one another because they didn't go to prison right it's a criminal cartel lest the bankers didn't go to prison and if you what i always

out last week the end of last week and said june 1st you're losing your 2 bucks an hour you're losing time and i need i guess i need more money because yeah a $1000000000.00 enough $1000000000.00 he made on the backs of these workers who risked their health they risked the health of their family already working in an environment that is totally dysfunctional all the b.s. those regards these people as disposable units that's how you regard these ows thinks of his workers as something just a cut above robots you know ok so all of a sudden we see this freak start saying everybody well you know we're going to give you some extra hazard pay because you're coming in here you're putting yourself at risk you're putting your family at risk he makes $30000000000.00 and then says oh i got a cut that 2 dollars an hour i was given you i got a cut that what what's happened to capitalism is come. tree i mean really what in

i'm the story for you today right here on the news with rick sanchez where you know as we always like to say we do believe by golly it's time to do news again. the patriot act is for extension with the u.s. freedom authorization act of 2020 the votes of now all been tallied for several amendments in order to receive this joins me now to talk about the status of those votes if you follow these kinds of stories along to give me your take on what's happening in washington with the patriot. well look everybody is so worried about the current a virus right now but there are other things going on behind the scenes i know that congress has taken some time off because of this but they have been voting on these bills and these amendments to the patriot act now this bipartisan amendment that was introduced by democratic senator ron wyden and republican senator steve daines

received 59 of the 60 votes that were required to pass and this bill would essentially ensure that under section $215.00 of the patriot act they could not be collecting people's internet search histories and web browsing histories as well but it did not pass by one vote and it didn't fail due to a lack of bipartisan support but reportedly due to the absence of 4 senators now among those missing from the vote were senator lamar alexander who was in self isolation following the coded 1000 diagnosis of a fellow staffer washington state senator patty murray was also absent an aide for her says that she would have voted in favor of the amendment securing it enough votes to pass but she'd actually been on her way back to d.c. when the vote was called senators bernie sanders and ben fast were also absent but it's unclear why. well tell me tell me about the a memo ok there was there was an attempt to say we need to revisit what's going. oh

and with the patriot act we think it's being used in ways that it shouldn't be used we need to we need to take another look at it and so there was a minute that was attached to the usa freedom reauthorization act is i think it's called it was introduced by senate majority leader mitch mcconnell what can you tell me about that provision and what would it have meant. to take another look at the patriot act in a way that we're honest with ourselves where there is no more privacy and ask for me to well yeah mcconnell's proposed amendment to the usa freedom reauthorization act with essentially allows the f.b.i. to collect web browsing history and from anyone without probable cause now since the wyden deigns amendment failed mcconnell provision unfortunately stands for now while the usa freedom authorization act cleared the senate it's now going to the house where privacy advocates are expected to propose some more changes so if citizens are concerned they can still reach out to their elected representatives

and pressure them to take action but unfortunately in the house at least 10 democrats did side with mitch mcconnell here and that includes dianne feinstein nancy pelosi and mark warner so it's it's unclear whether they're going to whether people asking for the house to do anything is really going to be effective your position would have been at least let's take a look at it see if we can modify it in a way that's more you know it's a little fair to both sides of that argument i think is has been your position on that thanks rashida thank you for joining me ok. thanks frank women with textured breast implants are experiencing abnormally high rates of cancer and it's now believed that these implants are to blame lawsuits are beginning to emerge against allegan the company that manufactures these implants and they've been linked to a very specific type of cancer attorney virginia became enjoys me now to talk about this virginia lay this story out for me you're running this national litigation and what new jersey right it is it's before judge martin adi in new jersey and i along

with 3 are hugely experienced judge by yes yes very well respected and very efficient even through this pandemic but. i'm working along with 3 other attorneys because it's such a big project that it is a mass toward and a class action claim but in july of 29000 on july 24th the f.d.a. issued a recall and it came on the heels of several other countries issuing recalls for these technical identity 3 country at 38 of the current count by 0 and and the others were really ahead of us on this because i think that al are again had superficially appeared to comply with f.d.a. requirements but we learned last week that the f.d.a. issued a warning letter to our again saying that it had not collected the data that it was required under its premarket approval conditions to comply with so we have a 2000 and 6 pm a process in 820131 word studies were not done to prove these to prove and we know

coming out of the 1st round of breast implants all the way back to the early ninety's those implants caused a whole host of auto immune diseases scleroderma a rim out syndrome surat just a whole host of of diseases people were live at losing their hair do you remember i tried these cases where i r i there was a hair loss that they had this heart encapsulation to where the breast point had to be removed. and sometimes rick resulted in a full message to me but this is bad is that was is even worse is called our lower homo it is it is michael in this this is a signature injury that now the world health organization recognizes as a distinct breast implant related illness and al are again the defendant in this class action this national litigation is the manufacturer of these implants and it is the company that has failed to comply with f.d.a.

guidance to establish the safety and the ongoing safety of the end what's the public right now if he knows the goal to comply is a yes that's absolutely true came out just last week as a matter of fact but the sad part about this is that the women who had these implants are often breast cancer survivors and the way the texture and implants work is that the human tissue it hears around the implants so removing them is a very very difficult process results in mastectomy and it was much worse than a mastectomy it is a full on block removal basically a removal of the chest all of the tissue below it sometimes cartilage and reconstructing breast tissue requires flaps to be created muscle transfers from other parts of the body so it's here you saw the good news here is that of those horrible story you just told us the only good news is you're in front of an experience judge who has seen things like this before and you've got a team put together a national team that's trying to coordinate

a taking discovery here correct be trying to make sure that these women get compensated for this but here is where as i look at this from the outside looking in and i mean obviously our law firm is involved with that but having done breast implant one in seeing the suffering that came out of this there is no way on earth allegan could not have drawn on that history to know that their product was a piece of junk right it is a bad product out of baxter and properly engineered and we think improperly manufactured that they. likely did not comply with their manufacturing specifications and we're hoping to get discovery to look at all of the actual documents and representations made but we have some information out of french inspections and that really gives us a lot of thought that they manufactured these things outside the scope of the specifications that were approved so it looks like they threw it on the market they grabbed a big market share and then they just didn't do their due diligence they are after

the most troubling thing to me is all they have to do is talk to the scientists that went through breast implant one that's all they had to talk to the scientists to understand how bad this news on its face so they had this texture to the employer thinking well if we had texture you won't have that hard encapsulation that takes place some time well and you know that my dating through the the texture migrating through the body that that's part of the process that it becomes particle laden and the body can absorb and dissolve so we do think that's a contributing factor lymphoma is an illness of implementation so they've created all of these things going on with these implants because in the texturing process that adds to the inflammation in the development you're histories of trial ignorant history as a trial lawyer is extraordinary you've tried some the biggest cases in the country if you're looking at this is this one that you feel like you're probably going to go to trial with you're probably going to have to take them to trial to get a resolution which is all i think so from what we're hearing right now you know the

litigation is in the stages of trying to get discovery really trying to hold our going accountable for what it hasn't done we're happy to see the f.d.a. working in a way in step with us to try to hold what you value most of all very unusual especially in a republican administration it's unusual but we are very grateful because these women are victims of betting on you well thank you i'm betting on these wonderful women they are brave they're intelligent they're committed to this and. they've been through so much that they are poster children for why we did what we did thanks for joining me ok majestic you michael finally tonight some good news the securities and exchange commission has announced that they're going to investigate the companies that have taken loans from the coronavirus stimulus package specifically those companies have taken money as part of the small business loan program the paycheck protection program was supposed to provide billions to
