let's take a look at what we're serving up on today's menu for eat the apprentice in case you haven't noticed the united states and china are in the middle of a media battle president trump is blaming china's government for the pandemic trying to scapegoat some are calling it a media war china china china's corona virus outbreak china's coronavirus and it's all over the coronavirus will fill you when the media is in a meltdown over the michael flynn case this is a case for the fix was in so this is it just how far will they go to push their russian agenda author david limbaugh weighs in facebook settled with workers who say they develop p.t.s.d.
9:01 pm
by looking at videos as part of their job blind will be here to discuss. turf and a local reporter is confronted by new york protesters who want their county to open up for business this guy will not get away from c.n.n. blames the president for the encounter. i'm steve malzberg let's see the press. oh yeah. easy. to buy. it's really no secret that relations between the united states and china have faltered due to the coronavirus effect some are already calling it a new cold war in fact you can safely say that there is already an ongoing war between the 2 countries being fought through and around the media recently the u.s. issued new reg. lation is limiting visas for chinese journalists in 90 days and
9:02 pm
china has threatened to retaliate the u.s. move coming after china expelled 3 wall street journal journalist following this op ed back in february so whose side has the us mainstream media been taking in all of this yes initially president trump praise china but in the following weeks testing in the u.s. failed to catch up to the need vital equipment was short bodies filled refrigerator trailers and science was continuously challenge as the u.s. led the world and illness and death the white house moved the focus to the chinese government that's where the speak president some would say is trying to scapegoat china we are risking a real resurgence of siena phobia as a result of this and other things that have happened so often at the state media level that you find out what the chinese are really thinking a completely different reaction to president from suggestion of cutting off
9:03 pm
relations altogether with china the global times pretty influential newspaper saying that this is marina say something that's not being heard from any u.s. president saying it's hardly surprising from a president who suggested injecting disinfectant into covert 19 patients there's little doubt that this media war will continue will the media come around and change their tune i wouldn't hold my breath after president trump who stunned the world when he announced that he was taking hydroxide couric when and the media went nuts it's been around for 40 years for malaria for a loop is for other things i take it frontline workers take it a lot of doctors think it's has been a lot of doctors take it i take it. so what do you think songs are. well you should be taking it so group good. thinks he knows more than the
9:04 pm
president's own doctor who prescribed it and did you see fox's neil cavuto reaction if you are in a risky population here and you are taking this as a preventative treatment to ward off the virus or in a worst case scenario you are dealing with a virus and you are in this vulnerable population it will kill you hate dr cavuto and dr gupta donald trump can't just go to the candy store and get this stuff or even get it over the counter a doctor had to prescribe it to him so take up your beef with the doctor now watch this you gotta see this this is white house correspondent for c.n.n. caitlin collins confronting the president about not wearing a mask after a recent press or watch the president could you just clarify why are some of you wearing a mask and why are some of you not wearing. we've all been tested i've been tested we've opened tested then later the same day after another press conference watch caitlin collins do this. to this and. now we've
9:05 pm
got a frozen right there look at her she took the mask all she so concerned about a mask yet she took her own mask off only concerned when the cameras on and it's the president of the united states fake fake news. you know week after week on this show i think we've documented the media bias towards president donald trump but the question is just how far will they go how far are they willing to go joining me now to discuss is david limbaugh best selling author columnist attorney and of course brother of talk show host rush limbaugh his latest book guilty by reason of insanity there it is on your screen why the democrats must not win david welcome great to see you i want to walk by having you weigh in on that thing that brit hume said recently on fox let's watch as for the journalism involved in the pursuit of that story the collusion narratives. we live was for so very long before it was
9:06 pm
blown up in the motor report it was the worst journalistic fiasco of my now more than 50 some years in journalism it was a it was a disaster ok i know that that you agree you've written about it i know you agree it's been a disaster. you know i have a lot of respect for brit hume and he's not nearly as radical as i am and he's making that statement which sounds outrageous but it's not it's not hyperbolic the media did everything they could to collude with the democrats to bring donald trump down and they were wrong the entire time manifestly wrong as all the subsequent evidence proved as the mall report couldn't produce any evidence and yet they've never once apologized they've never once corrected their stories and i think that's what brad is talking about they set up a newsroom the new york times set up a single news room devoted to this they got nothing and yet there's no no may a couple from them this is this is why we can't trust the mainstream media anymore
9:07 pm
among many other reasons absolutely all right so how about this one which received basically no media attention whatsoever david barack obama weighing in on the flynn case listen here is no basis to. get aid. for. some of these bush era sleeper. just. get off scot free yet if you look at the new york times on his way out the door the president obama in january of 17 pardoned a general who lied to the f.b.i. and never spent a day in jail he single handedly did a basically the same thing and of course there's no context to this they've media never mentions this they just are outraged they feign outrage and say it's never been done before when obama did it. when obama did it and also obama did it for
9:08 pm
political reasons this was said to be his favorite general trump of course likes flame and always thought he was set up but the fact is we now have a smoking gun we have a 357 magnum showing that he f.b.i. and the obama administration colluded to frame general flynn this should be dismissed outright and i cannot believe this renegade judge who called flim a traitor or treasonous is trying to inject himself in a case or controversy and create one when there isn't one this is what the left does this is a dangerous they are this case has got to go away because it shows corruption and collusion at the highest levels of power horrifying absolute absence and state scary very very frightening right you wrote a piece david them by dot com everyone can see all your articles about how the media would rather hate trump than help america and you point as an example to this craziness from m s n b c stephanie rule discussing the president's virus updates watch should joe
9:09 pm
biden counter-programming not should he be creating his own shadow government shadow cabinet shadow swat team and getting up there at a podium every night saying here's a crisis for and here's what we need to do to address this just insane i mean that they say this so they don't better now i. look who's politicizing this they ought to be focusing the country's attention on the problems we're facing the health issues which they do talk about that's all they talk about fear mongering and the economic devastation they've shown no balance all the media does in these press conferences is instead of trying to elicit helpful information from the viewers they try to play gotcha with trump this is entirely unacceptable in the public has to be aware they say trump's not doing enough he's doing too much they didn't they opposed his china ban his travel ban and european ban called him
9:10 pm
a racist and now they're blaming him for not doing enough to stop this crisis yet every day trump was on the air showing widespread comprehensive knowledge that he was in charge of this and trying to trying to minimize the health effects of this virus and now he started to indicate that we have to reopen the economy and they're presenting a false choice you either want to preserve life or you don't so you can't exercise of balance you can exercise about right i don't know if i can get up when i want to and health and i want to pick up on that with something that your brother rush said the other day let's watch these next 4 months. are going to be a veritable war like we have not seen. the american left. the democrat party. is going to do its best. to keep this economy shutdown to extend and expand that shutdown.
9:11 pm
and blow up their own country's jobs just to ensure the trump loss' and of course david with the help of the media. yes democrats have shown no compassion for the working man they forfeited all claim now to caring only about the working man the working man has been devastated you know the employment figures you know what's going on and yet they act like we all have to stay home we need people like got me out of stay home i'm 67 years old but kids and younger people should be out if they want to be out by the way the government shouldn't force anybody to do anything the the evidence is increasingly showing that this disease is hits certain and certain categories of people and there's no reason i don't think to shut schools down to further devastate society we cannot further live in fear because you can't face life like that and everybody watched more
9:12 pm
people will die from economic catastrophe sylvia keeps going absolutely no they're not going to the doctor they're not doing things they need to do less and david such a pleasure please our thoughts and prayers are with your brother every day please express that to him and will speak to you again very soon everybody go to david limbaugh dot com order the book and read all of david's columns thank you my friend thank you so much steve take care. and say right where you are because when we come back our friend legal and media analysts like i will be here to talk about what's going on if baseball game fox and much much more don't go away. it appears a new cold war isn't played this time which should get china what are the terms of
9:13 pm

if we more. or less stiff. the. police in the. bronx it is likely to shrink she says she's. not going to. test. you know by now google is used to facing lawsuits but what they may be facing very soon is. antitrust problems from the department of justice are keys natasha's sweet as more tech giant google is in
9:15 pm
a bit of hot water on top of several lawsuits already in the works the wall street journal is reporting both federal and state regulators are preparing to file antitrust lawsuits against google according to the report the claim stems from google abusing its control of online searches and advertising both in its profits while lessening the competition the wall street journal reporting the justice department has been investigating google for nearly a year and according to the report the justice department could bring a case forward as soon as this summer some state attorneys including general ken paxton will likely follow in filing a case turny general william barra telling the wall street journal back in march i'm hoping that we bring it to fruition early next summer and by fruition i mean decision time the company acknowledges the investigation saying they continue to engage with the ongoing investigations led by the department of justice and attorney general paxton and we don't have any updates or comments on speculation this is the 1st time the government has been google dominance the federal trade
9:16 pm
commission investigated google in the past but closed the case in 2013 the f.t.c. chairman at the time it made him all google unfairly biased its search results to hurt its competition the company's motives were to improve the online experience for its users but this draft from the department of justice is just one of many problems for google at the moment the goal is also being sued by an illinois parent who claims the tech giant is collecting bomb at your data from his 2 children and others the lawsuit claims google is gathering to face scans and voice prints from millions of children through its educational services the lawsuit also says google is in violation of the federal children's online privacy protection act coppa requires parental consent when acquiring personal data from users under the age of 13 another lawsuit for google in the works this one coming from a london court over an i phone privacy lawsuit. the class action suit was reinstated after an appeals court rules an individual data has value the group
9:17 pm
behind the lawsuit known as google you owe us we're seeking $3900000000.00 according to court documents filed last year organization backing some 4000000 people says the alphabet incorporated unit unlawfully gathered personal information by way of bypassing apple's i phone d. full privacy settings but that's not all another judge rules that google will face yet another lawsuit stemming from allegations the company has a hiring bias against conservatives well former google employee james de more who said he was terminated for his political beliefs exit of the lawsuit last year google will still have to face a california judge the suit is targeting google's hiring practices which some claim are biased against whites asians conservatives and men now it's interesting that google has disputed through legal documents that conservatives are not an identifiable class under the law that in that immediately respond for comment on this particular case reporting for it the press would talk to sweet r.t. . all right folks let's just say you are
9:18 pm
a big advertiser big company one of the biggest in the world and the virus hits but you signed the contract to advertise on t.v. networks and now everything has changed what do you do what can you do well here to help us decipher all of that and more is our friend legal and media add a list like you know of why no media hello my friend steve how are you my friend i am doing good ok let's start with a story that ran recently in the wall street journal there's an opportunity apparently a window where companies like the ones i describe big companies can in effect break the deals that they had previously made with t.v. networks so tell us how it works and how devastating this could all be for the t.v. networks involve the whole industry. well a lot of it depends upon contingencies that are written into it you know steve
9:19 pm
there's always the defense had to venable a frustration of purpose and a variety of impassibility what's interesting right now is sometimes if you're locked in rates before hand and you have never thought of or or conditioned a contract on something of this happening like a force majeure act of providence depending upon how it's written that's another story but here's the best part i kind of a caught us on to this a lot of people are simply just not paying stuff now this this mace shock you but there are people who are saying this is in essence a type of time of war this is something which is so existential that there's a new defense if you will that people are doing that not only in this but commercial leases residential leases and the like where people are just saying this is everything is stopped all rules have have stopped because of this twilight zone
9:20 pm
right that there's a lot of this is a read the letter line on the left is quote is crying no rent no mortgage payments and i get that and i understand that and when it comes to colleges you know what if you paid for off campus accommodations and there's no college classes going on but is there an out a do they have contractually built in for the most part or most of them i mean it's commonplace in the industry i doubt where they could now back out of part of that deal at least. well if you think about it depending upon how it's written but also depending upon in addition to that this notion of an impossibility be by virtue of this think of this almost like a knack the provenance this is never been figured in before but irrespective of this what was enjoyed before as guaranteeing revenues now this is part of the new correction of 2020 yeah no absolutely i will keep an eye on that certainly now this
9:21 pm
may be one of the most bizarre things i've ever come across i don't get it you have to explain this to me facebook has decided to settle a case brought by some of their former and current moderators who claim that because of what they do and what they what they see every day in moderating facebook and seeing videos and posts that they've come down with p t s d. i mean i don't you know to me if you don't like what you're doing for a living and it's bothering you go buy and wears the liability to the company but why would facebook settle and what do you think about this claim. the argument is that by virtue of these moderators having to deal with sexually explicit sexually violent pieces scenes which they have to perhaps edit that that in and of itself has caused p.t.s.d. now the thing that you're bringing up the issue is that if something is part and
9:22 pm
parcel of your job if it is foreseeable is there something that's almost considered assumption of risk which is another legal defense where you're saying this is what you do if europe fireman if you're a tightrope walker if you remove as a best as you know going in that when you take this job it necessarily involves looking at things which are problematic that's why you're there that's why you hold yourself out as an expert as somebody who is able to do this and one of the elements of being able to be able to moderate this is being able to withstand the rigors of at which you have to moderate so i think what facebook has if so much money there's a sure whatever we're going to do this no problem but it really i think it cheapens with all due respect the idea of what p.t.s.d. does to veterans and people who sure see things above and beyond not the usual
9:23 pm
call of duty for something which is so debilitating for them permanently. absolutely it always gets watered down and spread out whenever there's something legitimate people start claiming it even though in my view i don't see how this is legitimate week after week ly know one way or another we wind up talking about fox news the latest is a claim that they're not really. entitled to full 1st amendment protections because of some previous ruling on a porn case and that they're on table or not it's not broadcast television what the hack. this is i love a unique legal series or argument or defense that has been proposed and in this particular case this watchdog group is saying that because fox news is not broadcast like newspapers like the usual means by which thought is disseminated you
9:24 pm
know broadcasting but because you have to sign up for it you have to when you list fox news it's not it's not and they used to before in the past in cases by analogy but they're saying that fox news no entitle to some 1st amendment protections is entitled to less because again i just would go to anybody who has. no i was what i was i'm sorry to interrupt but that's what i was going to say that by definition c.n.n. m s n b c any of these networks on cable would fall into the same a situation correct and then only that there's another part of this issue you how clever they are by virtue of fox showing a bold approach to coronavirus and clark when in all of that they're using the torrent of intentional infliction of emotional distress or outrage to to advance the idea that right daring to refute medical that that this has now elevated to
9:25 pm
that of something which is so shocks the conscience a me notice it i gotta hand it to him this is a tell you it does not say never stop there they never stop but we're going to is up unfortunately for this segment line of my friend thank you as always. thank you my friend all the best. to stop airing the truth briefings that you keep hearing from a previous call. for. your schools and we know you want to keep your job we got you knocking are you. going to. use abuse a challenge plan. i don't know what ok folks just let me point out that i don't condone harassment of anybody whether they're doing their job trying to do their job or whether they're just you know their own business that said have you heard all the fuss that's been made about some of what you just saw a new york reporter from news 12 long island covering an event put on by people who
9:26 pm
wanted the governor of new york to open their portion of new york state reporter kevin vesey wrote i'll never forget what happened today i was insulted by raided and practically chased by people who refused to wear masks in a pandemic the president weighed in on the whole issue in support of the protesters and c.n.n.'s brian stelter then got involved the president's twitter feed lit up with support for the protesters here's the thing with these tweets he's not just celebrating this behavior is not just saying they have a 1st amendment right to protest which they do the president encouraging confrontations with reporters he's saying it's ok so did the protesters cross the line here's what appears to be the most troublesome confrontation that occurred watch i mean we need to back away you know i got her address a chloroquine i'm fine i'm just here this guy will not get away from you your back away ok see that police officer right there now if that officer felt something
9:27 pm
