i. hope to raise use for another nights with. police protest the van and sort of wake and. we heard earlier from his aunt. curfews are imposed across dozens of cities in the usa though that hasn't stopped writers leaving a trail of destruction more businesses and shops vandalized. and the protests have now spread beyond the u.s. we've thousands gathering in london.
9:01 pm
thanks for joining us on our team to ash to live from moscow. welcome to the program now another night of violence and cities set ablaze i mean by the death of george floyd at the hands of police 1700 people have been arrested across the united states in minneapolis where floyd died police have been struggling to maintain the curfew there with officers resorting to ever more heavy handed methods . the problem is that.
9:02 pm
we need to fight for our law there was no peace until there is just. it's estimated thousands have gathered outside the capitol building in minnesota national guards have been securing its perimeter police though say the protests on sunday have been peaceful so far demonstrators want all 4 officers who were present during the fatal incident to be charged so far only one is facing a charge of 3rd degree murder and meanwhile a makeshift memorial has been set up for george floyd's mourners have been paying their respects leaving flowers and messages the sites also become a place for peaceful protest against police brutality contrasting with the anger that has boiled over in other parts of the city and for the herald sun who is
9:03 pm
george floyd's aren't told us she never expected this scale of support. he would like the only game we actually have here. and. i'm still trying to cope with the fact that he is no longer here because when we make it so we plan to do things together you know overwhelm the response. and how much people care. but i think the reason why it affected people so much it could be everyone that was watching had a chance had the option to see so he went down to get something. and if you have a heart. you know if you have the heart. ready to love it when to your brain. it can't do anything for a change because there were people that told me she wanted to reach into t.v.
9:04 pm
to state. and you know i'm just so you know i'm overwhelmed but the response that we're getting to keep the love in and force. this child to take it all in because we really like me because we my nephew with the world and then to think he's trying to change something in the 21st century being easy i mean real and explore people use this year and say oh we just. we're just kids we're just. now everybody get in shape see that video and watch that and it doesn't matter why but i probably am but you come from you have a heart you know that was well. nobody has known my to do that to anyone do you. justice for their flock for joy flowing
9:05 pm
with the. to. be convicted of murder. and this murder 3 they just planned to do just trolling with curtis. just toying with the family college shall i call it what it is. doesn't matter. that could be anybody sister. knows. what she's saying. ma ma ma ma. ma heart. was young just there. and it's not. just. a tovia swims who says he worked in a nightclub in minneapolis for both george floyd and the police officers charged over his death worked as well shared his reaction with making aren't just a little bit hurt it. i knew both of them pretty well i worked with floyd is where
9:06 pm
we all knew him by. i was there working the club the day his 1st day coming in back in 2000 and my plea 15 something like that when he 1st came in he was there i was the head of security i wasn't aware i was in point it was hiring but the moment i saw him i knew i needed that guy in florida who rose mary jane you went. but i mean that this guy would give you the shirt off in fact it was such a nice. name for being such a big star he was truly in touch i was so derek's even oh say you also worked with him in a nightclub tell us more about handel. and let's be clear about this that people together it's a club because it's not like you work in shoulder to shoulder 6 this cost to sit in this park i cite the building at the time you don't even know in the squad cars they show up they stay outside they don't come indeed on the system ok.
9:07 pm
just want to. come out so we don't really do that nature but we are employed by the same people ok so their children's relationship with floyd was very short because that was it except for the role that was. shot in. the day also i did clear that up for id do you think they should even recognize floyd's during their arrest. it's possible that maybe. they did die in that moment because you know if they can my sister recognizes you in my business security that usually gives you some type of insight but with that officer some type of time in level with that officer that usually helps you out in situations so you got called over. and you responding you know me off secure what with the music you know because i. so no no officer will usually help you now you. know i
9:08 pm
do not believe that there was any previous marriage between these 2 and i would like to clear that up but i do not believe so knowing both of these men how did you feel what was your reaction when you 1st saw the video. i was horrified. i mean come on. on every level. i was horrified i. was quite aware of this scene in the video i just didn't understand. why he was doing this i never knew he was just something like that so i was actually shocked and horrified i was really just. you know. i'm still. just. a 3rd day of protests flooded parts of washington d.c.
9:09 pm
with clashes reported in a downtown area of the capital crowds again swelled outside the white house now while u.s. correspondent kind of more pain joins us live now kaleb good to see you what are the latest what's happening in d.c. what's the mood there like that most fear on the street. well the sun is down here on the eastern part of the united states and cities throughout the country are bracing for these shifts night of protests now the situation in washington d.c. is particularly interesting because we have crowds of people assembling near the white house we understand the u.s. marshals and the drug enforcement agency is on the scene at the white house has been the scene of protests throughout the last few days there have been big crowds there we saw crowds pushing on barricades and quite quite big confrontations near the white house earlier now it has been revealed that on friday donald trump was
9:10 pm
taken to a bunker for his own protection he was taken to a bunker for security reasons this is the bunker the president of the united states are taken to in the event of terrorist attacks and such and for his own protection trump was moved to a bunker out because of the security threat posed by these protests now we've seen donald trump on twitter lashing out at the protesters we have seen various figures in the democratic party a meeting with the demonstrators now there has recently been an increased call for the protesters to be nonviolent not to engage in and you know smashing property property destruction or looting or anything like that the calls for nonviolence up from those who agree with their their demands has increased but but it seems that the country is very very much worried now washington d.c. is has imposed a curfew and at this point we understand there is an effort to try and clear out these demonstrations on that many believe that it's after dark that these demonstrations become more violent and confrontational it's during the day we see
9:11 pm
more peaceful marches so at this point everyone is bracing for what will happen on this 5th night of protests following the killing of george floyd. yeah indeed will keep in touch and give us the latest update on what happens tonight and over the next few days killer morgan there live from d.c. . and the curfews have been imposed in dozens of cities across the united states meaning people are prohibited from being outside after 8 pm that hasn't stopped the rioting the new york city alone over 30 officers have been injured in clashes on saturday with around 350 arrests made. i.
9:12 pm
thank you thank you thank you thank you. protests in new york seem to have come since the vonne and scenes from earlier this weekend the city's mayor has called for an investigation which will look into the shocking pictures of n.y.p.d. vehicles ramming into protesters eyes the squad earlier outrage over him defending
9:13 pm
police actions. and amid the protests donald trump has said he will designate the left wing militant group as a terrorist organization blaming an excuse for the current violence and destruction across the country journalist and t.v. host ben swann told us that trump's thoughts on t 5 could backfire. it was a lot of pressure on the president to move against it secret for some time there are a lot of people who believe that it does act as a terrorist organization actually think it's a very poor precedent because what happens is even though there are a lot of conservatives in this country who would say well that's a good thing we need to label this group but as a terrorism group but as soon as your guy is not in office or and you get someone from the other side they will then want to turn around and label any protest movement on the other side also a terrorist group the establishment of the country is not sure what to make of these protests i think a lot of it has to do with its impart a black life matter issue it's in part
9:14 pm
a response to police violence against unarmed black men because we've seen this over and over but i also believe the more seen this in relation to the lockdown that happened in the united states there are a lot of people who have been frustrated with the financial system they're frustrated with not having jobs not being able to make money there's a lot that's going on the creating frustration and then to see another blatant example of another black man killed at the hands of police officers and it's not just one officer by the way there's video that shows 3 other officers for some time around george floyd and the fact that there were other officers in total who could have intervened and simply chose not to when protesters were saying on friday night and saturday night that their biggest frustration is that one officer has been charged but others have not been charged and they believe those officers should also be charged with murder you're seeing big coalitions of people coalescing around this particular issue which is a specific issue and an important one really to be protested but i think that there are other issues as well so i suspect we won't see at least for several days maybe
9:15 pm
even a week these these protests started out. playing out in the city of chicago there have been reports of looting police say 240 people were arrested on saturday with more than 20 officers injured during clashes with protest as. strongly condemned. i'm also hurt and angry at those who decided to try to hijack this moment and use it as an opportunity to wreak havoc to loot and to destroy. you should be ashamed of herself us what you have done is to dishonor yourself your family and our city we spoke with a renowned blues musician throngs or cannon who's from chicago about what the protests have unfolded in his hometown. believe me the black community the minority community we appreciate the police and what they do and we know the job is
9:16 pm
hard but if they break the law they should be held to the same standards if not more than the average citizen that will hurt or kill somebody and if it was on on just you know if it was a maneuver or 'd a tactic that kills someone on a serious shooting in the back they should be held to the same standard so i think a lot of that will quell all of the riots and anger in attitudes towards the police i think there's a mixture probably all of that people just had enough of. it that they sealed and no one cares. and this is the only way to lash out at the system. they come from neighborhoods that there's no economically deprived and you know what it's like you know you got to keep me low you going to. you know basically this system is what made me on on the x. so now socks time to get out and does and just do what we can to you know maybe get
9:17 pm
colds the whatever i mean is wrong but i understand the anger understand you just can't control yourself anymore but that puts your complete their lives and gris on danger of being shot of being hurt you know something like that is i don't understand it from that standpoint because i'm 62 years old and i just don't understand breaking into something so it's a moot point or if i'm down as i'm poor i don't understand breaking into a school and and just you know risking my life and risking the rest. the mayor of atlanta has confirmed 2 police officers have been fired for using excessive force during protests there while 3 other law enforcement agents have been put on administrative duties havoc in the city's saw cnn's offices targeted on saturday after hundreds of protesters slammed the media giants coverage of the fallout from george floyd's death and angry trial descended on the outlets h.q.
9:18 pm
scaling and vandalizing the company logo. the. c.n.n. headquarters had already been attacked earlier this week as a protest over the killing of schools floyd turned violent demonstrators smashed windows and sharpened slogans and china has also been facing criticism for suggesting that foreign actors had a hand in stirring up the riots. you know c.n.n. it said that russia might be behind some of the rioting and. the acts of violence and destruction and i. i don't know there are go so far to say that russia's fault but i would say most of the peaceful folks and say are my community members these are the folks that live here and i were to meet we're out here demanding change it seems more. i want to say inside job but i would say not
9:19 pm
necessarily people in the community are destroying things or organizing the rights of all it's kind of. the core of the people on the outside minnesota closer states like michigan and stuff like that a lot of the kids who are arrested last night were actually. from wisconsin here and in other states around here i don't think that's possible because the people i see rioting they're not russian there are 4 blooded americans you know and just people who choose to stand on the wrong side and i believe that they come in to cause confusion and chaos so that they can make the protesters look like like they're bad people and we don't have a cause but we would it really comes down to is when you look at that video of george floyd saying i can't breathe i mean you're not human if you can't look at that and see that's wrong it doesn't matter for to policeman another man but this.
9:20 pm
keeps happening over and over again and this culture has got to stop c.n.n. likes to make a lot of stuff i really don't think the russians would be down here doing this it's me we the writers and they're completely different groups from the protests but you know everybody loves a conspiracy. when wallace c.n.n. has published an apparent response to the criticism saying that every actor on social media is personally sent there by russian president vladimir putin approaches have now spread beyond the u.s. with thousands gathering in both central london and the german capital correspondent. has more now on the european reaction. well there's been outrage here over the killing of george floyd that video of the black man gasping for breath as a white police officer knelt on his neck ignoring his pleas has been seen by many people here and that's been seen in the demonstrations and the demonstrators that
9:21 pm
have come out on to the streets of cities like berlin we saw demonstrations on saturday and on sunday where they marched from the courts big region of the city to the u.s. embassy near the brandenburg gate holding up signs like silence is violence hold cops accountable and who do you call when the police murder. emotions running high here in the german capital as well as what what has been going on in the united states. did not do enough. and. yet. on the old berlin wall in mauer park here in the german capital
9:22 pm
a mural depicting george floyd has gone up over the weekend that includes his words i can't breathe which he repeated over and over to the police officer that was kneeling on his neck at the time away from germany in denmark there's also been demonstrations in copenhagen outside of the u.s. embassy and in belgium those words i can't breathe we're seeing spray painted by a graffiti artist along the side of a brussels train there's also being thousands of people out on the streets of the british capital in london scenes outside of the house of parliament to follow the square on the u.s. embassy there as well where we understand 5 people were arrested on sunday. is part of that demonstration again people coming out and saying they're outraged at the killing of george floyd and what they see as violence towards black people in the us from the police their. people
9:23 pm
being slaughtered in the streets of and i think we can be calmed down you know we're just watching hockey season not exactly i'm here because i'm from miami florida i'm actually in this match at home and i'm just proud that here and they care enough to not look. so. well as we've heard from contribute is in the program so far who are in the united states this doesn't the violence certainly the demonstrations that are ongoing don't look like they're going away any time soon and we'll be looking to european leaders particular monday to see what reaction they have to the ongoing situation in the united states $1007.00 out in force across the state of florida after the government called in national guards there or forced what officials have faced accusations of being too violent with demonstrators we heard from activists that actress. who was hit by tear gas at the protest in florida over the weekend. just got to.
9:24 pm
give. this speech. never equates to keep people listening. and just leave. it one also went on to claim that the police have been trained to use military tactics. it seems as if the military has trained and are the police there's kind of this there isn't like a a line between the 2 there were tanks in tampa last nights. so you think of a police officer is somebody that's working for the community protecting and serving with the big time the teams are last night there were tanks out in full force in in tampa and in miami. so that that's quite scary to see here in america when people start marching and taking over the streets which is
9:25 pm
very liberating and very empowering to take the streets and take a stand i make can get very chaotic and you can cause traffic and you can cause people to get angry and and that's when it gets very chaotic and that's when there's a couple people in the crowd that want to be an instigator and what i witnessed yesterday in tampa florida was and as i've witnessed at protests across the country . it's always a few people who want to kind of cause a little chaos and and then it kind of escalates. cross-talk up next the team and i'm back in 30 minutes with the latest news headlines so yes syria going to.
9:26 pm

and in 1996 something happened different a company called purdue pharmaceutical came out with a drug called oxycontin and they started a myth and falsely promoted that opioids were rarely addict maybe only one percent of the time could you get it done addicted to no. that was not true then and it is not true now and never was true that was a false statement and the other companies jumped on the bandwagon of making money in the false lies spread in the false marketing spread that they are guilty of lying about these tricks they cause the step i believe that with every fiber of my being. back in 1906. the 1st promotional
