on the news with rick sanchez where you know as we always like to say we do believe but dollywood strive to do news again. hello there i'm in illinois and you're watching in question broadcasting from our to america's national news headquarters in washington d.c. we want to welcome our viewers from across the nation and all around the world here are today's top stories america in chaos. 10 days after the death of george floyd at the hands of the minneapolis police officer today protests continue here in the nation's capital while the truck administration continues to focus on acts of violence and property destruction
2:01 pm
resulting in a military build up on the streets of d.c. peaceful protesters say they will continue sharing their message of ending police brutality artie's rachel blevins was at the protest this morning she is joining us live from outside of the white house with more so rachel what's the latest on the ground. kalman know we're here at the white house is about as close as close as we can get to the white house right now given the fact that they came in they put up a new barrier yesterday and today they have added in a line of armored personnel in between the protesters and that barricades and now they have officers actually on the front line facing off against the protesters however it's important to notice that the protests we have seen over the last 24 hours have been overwhelmingly peaceful here and this all comes as the pentagon confirms that it has deployed around $1600.00 u.s. army troops here to the d.c. region and even though president has continued to focus on the acts of violence that we've seen. over the last week it's important to note that we've seen
2:02 pm
a lot of peaceful protests here in the d.c. region take a look at the protests that we saw earlier today. protesters gathered by the hundreds in washington d.c. wednesday morning for a march to the capitol building demonstrators said their goal was to continue spreading their message despite the threat of an increased crackdown on the front testers are marching to the capital right now here in washington d.c. and we are here in calls of no justice no peace say his name george floyd is a higher name briana taylor and people that have gathered here want to emphasize the fact that this is a largely peaceful protest but at the same time they are still adamant about bringing attention to those cases of police brutality the cases where americans have lost their lives at the hands of police yet in these cases as they have said there has been no justice and they say there will be no peace the protest was organized by the group freedom fighters d.c. and they repeatedly emphasize the fact that it was meant to bring awareness to
2:03 pm
a message that has been at the heart of these protests since the beginning organizers were seen handing out bottles a water mask and hand sanitizer and demonstrators included people of bag races all ages and all backgrounds this protest comes one day after thousands were seen marching to the white house marking the largest gathering the city has seen since the protests began many of those protesters broke the 7 pm curfew implemented by the district but even then the demonstrations were largely peaceful and the clashes with police appeared to be minimal. fire back here at the white house now just as i was speaking we saw multiple armored vehicles coming in and adding into this line now these vehicles that you see right here behind me they are on that other side of those police that are there and they seem to be adding to this situation now these protesters here from wartman peaceful they have been chanting their different slogans so it's interesting to see these vehicles now coming in at a time when. we have to get to the point proper 3rd trying to really aggravate the
2:04 pm
protesters or the protesters trying to push back against that police line for that obviously is a developing story that we will continue to follow and bring you the latest updates but for now reporting from outside the white house rachel and our team. and over now to new york city where after nights of looting and destruction comes a little sense of peace but the protest over the death of george boyd come to new and so do the curfews artie's trinity chavez now with more to the story. today a much different scene than previous days i don't preach dryland i preach equality after days of disturbing video and images of clashes between police and demonstrators there were calls for calm throughout the city the people looting that is taking a great opportunity to spread. our borders to stop killing people and using that for a chaotic. if we can as a pastor. for our voice to grow several peaceful protests taking place around the
2:05 pm
city tuesday hundreds paying their respects at a silent vigil in foley square some facing off with police with their hands up without incident this video capturing a touching moment between an officer and a demonstrator the right. to know it was there was a truck with you. but as night fell the protesters once again defying curfew. the n.y.p.d. making 280 arrests and urging people to move on they got her through her wall some of the rampant destruction and looting quelled tuesday night still some aggressive confrontations they grabbed innocent people for no reason just started like a coffin unfortunately to the ground this dude was a he's a journalist and a press does a press pass and they push him to the ground video capturing the moment an officer screams at a journalist to. at one point
2:06 pm
a journalist said he was pinned to his car and forced to leave don't be like that. but despite some new york city mayor bill de blasio calls it progress we saw a very very different picture around new york city last night we still have more work to do like the affirm that right up front mayor bill de blasio doubling down on the citywide curfew which will stay in place for the rest of the week however continues to reject urging from president trump and an offer from governor andrew cuomo to bring in the national guard reporting in new york trinity charges are. all right it's a photo that hasn't left the spotlight if anything it's made things worse this photo taken behind me monday afternoon in front of the historic st john's church has a top pentagon adviser publicly resigning now so here to talk more on that fallout from that you were just there moments before that picture was taken monday right and actually if we had left 5 minutes later monella we would have been by
2:07 pm
photographer i would have been in the middle of those those gas canisters and flash bangs that actually went off to move the protesters away from the white house and st john's church across the street but that's the big issue which is why you have james miller turning in his resignation to mark asper and looking at that picture you're going to see that mark asper is the one that's all the way on the left there now in his letter published in the washington post miller who was a department of defense adviser says that defense secretary marc asper went along with quote trumps orders to fire canisters into the crowd writing esper president trumps actions monday night violated his oath to take care that the laws be faithfully executed you may not have been able to stop the president but you could have chosen to oppose it instead you visibly supported it now who exactly is this james miller i don't think a lot of people are familiar with his name and as mark s. per responded to this resignation oh yeah 1st things that james miller he actually is a pretty big deal at the d o d and this resignation had mark esper out responding as soon as. it was published
2:08 pm
now miller served on the defense science board which is a group of retired senior officials who tackle cyber and communication technology also weapons of mass destruction now he also won 4 times the medal for distinguished public service which is the highest award a civilian can get from the d. o. d. now as far as mark esper he says he had no idea they were going to be taking a picture rather saying that he thought he was only going to be doing 2 things one to go see the damage at st john's church and to talk to the troops in lafayette park that's directly across the street from the white house he also pushed back on the media saying that what was reported was an accurate take a listen national guard forces did not fire rubber bullets were tear gas into the crowd as reported 2nd guardsmen were instructed to wear helmets and personal protective equipment for their own protection not to service some form of intimidation. now melissa miller you also had others that were part of that walk to st john's church one of them actually being the nation's highest ranking military
2:09 pm
officer also piggybacking off that esper statement saying that they also had no idea about that picture but again looking at this picture it's the guy all the way on the left who was part of that walk over to st john's church and that's what's causing problems and ever and this is also getting a lot of attention from senators who are busy right now trying to pass another stimulus bill for the covert 19 pandemic that's happening yet it's amazing that with all of this going out you know we still are in the middle of 1000 and hasn't gone away but obviously reaction on both sides of the aisle republicans more focused on the no injuries democrats focused solely on the president take a listen. leave that apparently there were a few to no injuries. apparently little or no looting. hopefully tonight it will be more peaceful even than that what this president did was to make a mockery of our civil rights i see yours i was not there in that park but every one of us should wish we were there and i'm telling you right now if donald trump wants to get some one next time start right here. now reported during the protest
2:10 pm
tuesday that attorney general bill barr has come out saying that he was the one who ordered canisters to be fired not the president again saying it was not tear gas and there were no rubber bullets fired again as you mentioned this is all happening while the senate is trying to pass another covert $1000.00 stimulus bill we're looking at giving americans $2000.00 a month as opposed to another just 12 $100.00 stimulus check which they predict it will take a few weeks to hammer out a final deal that's all going down as we're now up to $40000000.00 people filing for unemployment since the start of covert manila so they're pretty busy a lot of irons in the fire here in d.c. . thank you for that update. similar protests also took place in houston texas george floyd's home state among these 60000 demonstrators included some city officials and boy's family calling on protesters to continue calling for an end to police brutality and then in kentucky there was
2:11 pm
a large turnout of mostly peaceful protesters many of them were dispersed though by tear gas and pepper balls. and then in st louis missouri a retired police captain was shot dead while responding to an alarm at a con shop late monday according to investigators the business was being looted at the time police say they made 25 arrest throughout that night after 55 other businesses were also looted retired captain david dorn was 77 years old. and elsewhere around the world pope francis is weighing in on the protests here in the u.s. in an address to his followers the pope said quote we cannot tolerate or turn a blind eye to racism he also expressed great concern about the disturbing social unrest in reaction to the killing of george floyd the pope added that nothing is gained by violence and so much is lost and called for national reconciliation and peace. and across the pond thousands of protesters in london are joy. joining the

greece even the netherlands a major rally of protesting george white's death is underway right now in central london are to correspondent at woodstock gives us the latest out of hyde park. i'm here in the heart of central london in hyde park west thousands the b.b.c. in sky news many mainstream media saying hundreds but i can confirm there are thousands of protesters here today all in solidarity with george curry i think it was the same thing chanted was i speak that man the guy was a man who died in police custody would have been stopped as a meltdown effect was minutes was that the city was deaf now that wasn't and we are of course in the middle of a knock down scenario was still the official line is to only trouble for a sense of practices and a completely prohibiting any mass gatherings as you can see today though it is almost impossible to maintain that social distancing measures despite all the noise
2:16 pm
as granny trying to follow everybody to try to keep us officials guessing and on to the issue that is not just an issue because these guys think that they have to see these containers these guys are saying that these brutality happened here as well we can look at other cases across the united kingdom from not talking to sure to break in these campaign is the same the police brutality also exists on the streets of the united kingdom it comes of course a statistic show that the metropolitan police have 4 times more likely to use excessive force against attack us and they are white president campaign is arguing systematic racism at the core of this institutional stereotyping thanks for a shoe line was demonstrations of these yes but they aren't. some assange was using me and i got these people to god that was the state failed to do was was president tom tom tweeted when the looting starts the
2:17 pm

2:19 pm
a god i was was was like you could see i think i was in that mix was the god that made that these scientists could. thank you. and this just in an update on the george floyd homicide case derek show when the officer that was charged with his death his charges are now being to 2nd degree murder and the 3 other responding officers also on scene they are also being charged now with aiding and abetting we'll continue to follow the updates and bring them as they unfold. all right it has been more than 20 years since the u.k. returned the island of hong kong back to china after some 150 years or so of colonisation but today prime minister boris johnson is reasserting the u.k.'s influence in its domestic affairs he's extending special visas to about $3000000.00 hong kong ors with a pathway to british citizenship as china begins to reorganize governance on the
2:20 pm
island so joining us to discuss former hugh campi george galloway so george what is your analysis of this offer from the prime minister. well it's a very generous offer much more generous than we ever made when we ruled the drip how the started it out of china in punishment for them refusing to allow us so india and several in the i'm not making how we came to have on call a norm hong kong chinese would never have been given a visa still less the opportunity to come and settle you know when we ruled the other address so it's a blip opportunistic move i'm not sure. has told his voting base. 3000000 new chinese immigrants will shortly be on their way specially after our bricks in green we're on the right
2:21 pm
least all but the issue of mass immigration. people who don't look like us was rather see. lives in the campaign i'm not sure whether going to go how they're going to get a doctor's appointment how they're going to get a place in a school find somewhere to live and find somewhere to work saw this is pretty dramatic news but as far as interfering in china's domestic affairs that goes without saying it's a flagrant abuse of the principle of non interference in the internal affairs of other countries and china has already said that britain having lifted this big store will shortly drop it on its own feet in other words there will be an answer from the chinese to this insult that's right george let's take a listen to what the chinese foreign ministry spokesman had to say.
2:22 pm
but the one down british side will lead me to irresponsible remarks we're going to make in this community doing and grossly to inform the urine in hong kong of terrorism and china's internal affairs china strongly to the laureus and firmly opposes that and has made solemn complaints with the british side of. the torch he went on to call this a colonial mindset and said this would backfire so how do you read that is that some sort of threat. yes i think it is a threat australia already learned what the chinese mean when they see these kind of things there's now an 80 percent target on all australian goods and services going into china which effectively means that none of them now do china is big on powerful country it will not be pushed around by
2:23 pm
a former colonial power that's clearly still has ideas above its station in the world and the reality is the truth is bro. on having left the european union and alienated all of its former partners in the p. and you're having effectively no broken relations with russia there's actually nothing for the russian embassy in london now to do there's no business done between in london and moscow we've now quick to fight with china you might well wonder the wisdom of that kind of our foreign policy which leaves us with only one friend in the world done not friend is donald trump that's right george and the prime minister said that he would raise this with the 5 eyes the possibility of burden sharing you know should china change these national security measures in hong kong how do you think the international partners are going to take to this
2:24 pm
request especially given that today president trump has just upped his battle against china by banning all chinese commercial flights into the u.s. . yes well donald trump will not be taking these 3000000 chinese people from hong kong and i don't think australia will indeed one of the things that scholars australia is deep racial division and the former are white australia policy of the kind of politicians who are still in power in canberra today so. far as jones is going to have to explain to britain or where we're going to put these 3000000 new chinese immigrants that we would never have accepted when we actually were in the commonwealth with them and what actually ruling their territory by the way without any democracy or human rights act all nord rights to protest on the
2:25 pm
british rule in hong kong in fact rubber bullets were invented by the british to fire a chinese people in hong kong again i'm not making about either of us so nobody else . this is going to. show your book boris johnson is going to have to explain to the conservative voters to prepare for rather a large london of chinese immigrants in the very near future again the prime minister couldn't have picked a more precarious day this being the 31st anniversary of tiananmen square so a lot of weird timing here george as always appreciate your insight thank you so much. all right regina hands over at the sports h.q. regina there are now 8 teams in the k.b. oh and $1.00 of them is struggling to break out of the bottom rankings what happened i think out of 8 you don't want to be near the bottom and speaking of being at the bottom 7th place katie with hosted the 3rd place just on bears in
2:26 pm
a bid to climb out of that bottom spot in search of a much needed win this got mascots vic and dory yes perhaps like victory to hang out the at the stadium cheering on the way it is and they've done too happy but they should be bottom of the 1st with left fielder mel rojas jr with a 2 run double to right field and that'll support joe young hope and a big day and a catcher gets a ball too late with breaks open scoring 2 nothing bob the 4th with their base and long gone with aids solo home run to left field you even hear it in the stands with go up 3 to nothing against their guest on of the bears the fans get a chance to shine yo young home 7 with a whole lot of on a lesser field and bears junkfood being with a diving catch and suman just gets the ball on the tip of his glove almost rolls out next batter does better for the way as one has to do with his towering opposite field home run to left center his 8th of the year and that's going to put the wiz up for 10 nothing bears 1st part of the game often r.b.i. still left field by right fielder park while it'll score kim bears now make it 7 to
