it makes but it's more reliance and so that's why we try to come out here and feed and get away from you know everything basically. my dad you know told us to fish and you know we talked in the fish they live fish and we spent a lot of summer out here most of the stuff. you rarely ever see black people featured is that i like it out here today as i got a smell near. her. august 12th was a tragic day here in charlotte so many things happen. to have a memorial for heather who passed away tragically because of hatred here in our community. many people got together to try to.
9:31 am
show that we needed a change here in the city. ran into us humans because they had hatred for another race that is not fair that is not just that is inhumane to take life because you feel different. the state is now named as the higher way. tragic tragic day in charlottesville history. if you haven't any luck. the winds blowing in plus it just got done snowing 2 days ago i don't i won't catch most fish today when it's windy you just you know in a good time the fish when it's real windy. so we'll probably just go on go out get
9:32 am
some pizza or something and about 2 weeks we'll be back old catch a ton of fish because it'll be a lot worn away on a calm down has a profound would be to. jesus christ and his death on the cross and resurrection again no distinction was made between white and black he died and rose for all people. martin luther king worked very hard to end discrimination and segregation within the united states he led very peaceful nonviolent protests marches in areas where black folks african-americans were treated very much as 2nd class
9:33 am
citizens areas where they had to ride in the back of the bus for public transportation or they could not eat at the same counters with caucasian people and through his efforts a lot of that discrimination that was beleaguered at the time and enforced has been done away. the efforts of martin luther king who was assassinated very young are commemorated here for his work that christ with not have people segregated and treated as 2nd class citizens. just a couple of years ago we had riots in this city and the police department was shown to have some prejudice and would treat african-american citizens in particular unfairly when it came to on force. so no we're not there but we're working on it. all right family was going on family also god. going
9:34 am
a special show where i live right here this saturday. i want to just put on my st louis because st louis is law enforcement of the prison officials it's always a lot of corruption when long they are just overall when it comes to the prison system it's a racialized torture system if we want to just be very honest there was a situation in new york there was a brother who was held in new york in a prison all right as i went without being charged and they were just going to hold him there and that's the thing that they do now they get people put him in jail don't actually charge them with anything they can't afford bail and they just draw out when they can go on trial they have to prepare people psychologically for the big executions and that's where we're leading right to right now basically giving people the police the green light to brutalize will go against the constitution and brutalized people and they're just yelling and applauding there and that type of mentality is again naziism.
9:35 am
i was born in detroit and partially raised there but i was also raised in birmingham alabama down in the south among the king marched in all of the civil rights movement that was like the heart of it is now then birmingham alabama racism against black people it was more systematic they incorporated it in the system and i noticed that as a very young child in the school system i noticed that black children we were treated differently than the white children the white kids would act out and do whatever and they would just get barely a reprimand but black kids who would do the same thing they would get funneled into special education classes they would get expelled always from that point wanted to . know the ins and outs of systematic racism.
9:36 am
this was like in the early seventy's when they started to take away the housing discrimination laws in made it bad you have to read als is a brick property and it has to be equal legally there was a white flight and that took all the money in the world and resources out and it just left the shell of the city and the people were impoverished and they blame the poverty on the people blamed a lot of the ills of detroit on just black people is just that black skin just black people being in control and that's going to turn the place into a ghetto and always white flight. you don't have any protection at all when you have the president of the united states encouraging law enforcement to brutalize people that comes out on us so we
9:37 am
have 0 protection they can come and blow our brains out at any given time and we can't really do anything actually america is the only country in the world where you can kill people outside of war and legally get away with it you can't kill nobody you know of a country and get away with it you can't do that in north korea you can't do it in russia you can't just go and kill somebody and then just walk away in and in get acquitted how can you be the beacon of democracy how can you be the gate keeper of the world and you have that. you know the media out here always try to call me a leader a black lies matter especially the people fox news they were real good at telling me a lot of people consider myself a leader because i'm in a prison where i can be armed and i can't do anything about it yet so i'm just another victim of whites a permit. trying to figure out how to get up out of the prism of racism obama was
9:38 am
just a tokenized black person a white supremacist they do magic tricks they like to say ok we're going to give you one black person and put bed one black person in a high position and now everything is equal you have nothing to complain about and couldn't one black person in a high position means absolutely nothing because systematic white supremacy as a group but naaman not so tokenize in one black person and saying ok he's the leader of the here he's the president he's the governor he's the mayor they did that for a lot of black cities by the way in the 1970 s. they made a lot of black people mayors of these cities but they had no real power because they didn't have the power to allocate resources.
9:39 am
not to look good to. talk of the cargo hold if you. will the fear that that. is a factor but. you know go ahead and so the only. majority white city in detroit michigan make sure they started right in the blacks and from the south that's where all the cars are made at our factories and now it is nothing but a warzone in michigan tennessee the whole city council there is black and when we went in protest of the good smith us we start looking into the city council for trying to remove. the confederate monuments would look good to him
9:40 am
a majority of anybody only see the council in memphis tennessee have criminal records of embezzlement still in money been caught prostitutes cocaine. yep still in office cincinnati ohio that's a horrible place or shootings up there on a daily basis stabbings ripens killings each state major capital live just like washington d.c. the capitol united states itself washington d.c. is a war zone and they will tell you in washington d.c. do not go out by yourself after 8 o'clock at night you will get robbed stabbed or right to as our own capital they tell you the very not know it might think. they are all. right. same things driving this reach voters every day. in history which if you were there this is the transportation $3.05 of that was. defined front though their government wants to make it look like the whole united states were all peaceful one happy race will
9:41 am
have a religion then that's nothing like it i mean even though they've been pushing immigration down our throats now for fede years we segregate our sales and the government figured out you know the whites you know it's called white flight when we see oh neighborhood get too dark we actually just pack a movie we want to send our kids the majority white schools are going to people segregation starts every sunday in america you can say that this place is integrated we're all happy and peaceful but every sunday at 11 o'clock that's when the world becomes so vague that every day and it's called the church because whenever my there's a church we go to white churches the blacks stay in their black churches and the mates going to stay and whatever catholic that's one segregation of stark's the school segregated prisons they were great i mean that's just the way it is the way it's always. been. i don't think you'll be willing to.
9:42 am
i think it was shown as though show me was bad people really hate each other those all right white supremacists they hate us and they want to kill us so it was charlottesville show for me was that these white supremacists these all right folks are full of hate and if they have weapons i really huge guns and they do tactical training and they're ready. they want to hurt people they came down here with weapons in a day of duraid a fight. america needs to be born again america needs of rebirth we need to acknowledge our sins are pass we need to repaint and we need to build a new or better america without racism without acting as if racism never
9:43 am
existed. you cannot be blown with yet you want.
9:44 am
we go to work. street old. best's job where her cocaine was were 4 bucks for the under 50 it's addictive job everybody use kogan. cocaine you can smoke it this is worth 5030. 20. car came to earth this is about a $15.00 bit if you will smoke this one figures this we you go fan these drugs in any city in the united states that you want and long as you want to get it about to. make money. and that's what i did there were there.
9:45 am
a lot of black people you know in this area they like to stick to what we call projects which is free housing the student going to work and paying their bills and taxes that's like that's important family they didn't know what free housing which the government here actually gives there. and they give their what they call free stands where they feed their families and they don't have to worry that maybe even a light hearted bill for the and so the majority i would say 95 for seen in their lives in the projects of this black community they don't work and they sit there for money and they're selling drugs seized the children teenagers you know younger my kids and then already addicted they ruin their lives in the community there's always a high crime rate robbery people's houses being broken deal where they're kicking
9:46 am
down the doors and they're specially doing it to elderly white people kicking their doors knowing that they can defend themselves. breaking a lot of white women and they're doing it even in public places like this black guy looking these tynes is round and beat still live in hell lot of this white woman and now they're in laser they're down i. want to dream her a lawyer and they started trying to say all these people are just as good as are equals will go ahead of years of trying to the want to play with the wife and still have that she would just be allowed to rob and steal and raping feeling. that's. what.
9:47 am
yes we are leaving 7. that is not. every black person in america is not trying. to do the team for seniors got already a generation of black people who actually want you were. in their health and proud of their employer they don't like their kids and it's racing which is going on and they're disgusted by it and for the new generations they have no morals they just
9:48 am
they don't care if the chief when they have a house there and kerry is not. where they call baby mommas 8 fall when encouraged me and you know they know that they're great and generous change they don't care if . this is same here i'm in a black sea or want to round the system as much as they can they don't want to do nothing i mean they actually were from new york the place and things going on up there i mean they want to sit on section 8 housing and not work and that's the thing and the more babies they produce they going to get and that's why i used to walk around at gas stations grocery stores they got $500.00 kids lagging behind them and now comes out and they've got their kids dragging their kids and. me here they get always been if it free you know even if it doesn't pay for food shelter lights water their t.v. . for the theater. anything of any day over there so depressed
9:49 am
like white people their white people are really. when people ask why software i do i have friends who suffer in the system of white supremacy globally it's a prison system understand that under that system there's different forms of suffering we should be in the prison to begin with but i've had friends who were railroaded into a jail system who i've got friends with doing life in jail over drug charges right now. i know people who were killed by law enforcement i know people who were murdered and their murders were never solved so that's what happens with black people when we die there's no big outcry on who to pontus this is why we see so many people killed and murdered with complete impunity because there is like an unwritten rule that if you are a person classified as white if you have a good enough excuse you can kill harm a would do anything to a black person. the
9:50 am
parents or the slaves the grandparents were slaves. they might have been slaves like i said over 152 years ago get over it was the way i look at it leave. a lot of white supremacist groups are stuck in stupidity you look at the civil rights movement you look at the black panthers you look at other groups that were composed comprised of black people fighting for rights in the f.b.i. the cia a cointelpro they made a dead business to get up to get in there and disrupt these groups highways 8 data group dead has been savagely murdering black people for over 200 years in this country is still exist.
9:51 am
the reason the claims rose the goal of whites lives to resist tyranny various reviewers of the white race white race your. class break glass and cigars so we didn't know who are members were that's one of the main reasons why they were that is because you have members who are cops you have those who are share of your doctors lawyers ever my was a proven fact as one out of 3 americans was in the choir believe their president sounds like a larger horn to your we've had several presidents of those on the. it's american tradition. there for sure i be editor of the road for your. life that's what i am i have a route which means i'm a leader or a wizard agree morrow being grand dragon which means he's over the state or
9:52 am
a group which is very hard for me see so profits are counting off for the class then why rufus me agree with. what we see here in america is hundreds of years of racism. and right now black last matter it's you know white people like tino people muslims christians whoever did feel the way that we feel you know gays are part of this fight to feel the way that we feel we fight. racism is alive but it's concealed when you racism resurface in american a real way when a black man became president no one wants us to come out of the shackles it was a wall for when they wanted to pull us out of slavery it was a war right on american soil because we were coming out of savory people don't want to see us ride you live in poverty you live in these destitute situations you're
9:53 am
hurting you're in pain and now we have this thing called gentrification. where are white folks and other young professionals coming in in pushing poor people i did a ghetto right gentrification is racism they're pushing us out a lot of communities landlords a reason to rinse up and they can't do anything about it we came right because we're fighting them we're teaching them not to fight back a lot of good for me work we could do this type of work but look at what's happening like nolan gives us about poor people until wait until until they're fighting for themselves. just 30 minutes of the road at least 3 people died between saturday night and sunday night 3 people die every night through drug ballots and i think about some blacks just beat them because they don't like people they'll kill them white people i mean as every weekend at least 3 to 4 people 30 minutes over and that. the cops already
9:54 am
know that this pretty much is a war in the streets every day. the movie the covers up they want the world a favor this is a peaceful america the great united states no this is a concrete jungle and it's a war you're all the you got me there b.m. really we're like people brainwashed point you with even school and the kids now you feel bad that i am not to be proud of being like it's this. and me every white and white kid now i mean you know or anything with everything else being there i mean. america i hope we agree on. the bad thing about america too is through the media that make it look to the world of america tries to put on a show i mean that's what we as a puppet show is what america does through their television and their media they try to make it like it's all peaceful here in the united states this is
9:55 am
a great place to live no we're actually in a communism. now we can't even have freedom of speech here if your wife you are here you got no freedom of speech here your beliefs pretty much have to be kept inside the house because they'll come take your kids away from you they will if they find out what i believe in that i'm a klansman they'll try to take my kids from me and all i want to do is live separate from all the other races i rather be around my home and that's all i won't just like god and. of them pray for racial words no holds barred and just go on and the the knowledge of these people where they can go about their country that's what i would like to see as a race war. to k.k.k. exists because america wants it to exist they have the biggest terrorist group to ever operate in this country ok and they're dead to me they're worse off than the people who destroyed the world trade centers they're worse off than people who go and shoot night clubs full of innocent gay people love the k.k.k.

city they say yes. yes. welcoming our viewers from around the world live from central london this is r.t. u.k. . people gather across the world ahead of the funeral of george floyd's the black man who died in the u.s. while in the custody of a white police officer that's as tensions brew in the u.k. over controversial statues following the removal of the one liberating the slave trade in bristol. doctors say there's a crisis of confidence in public health england courting its official report into the coronavirus impact on ethnic minorities profoundly disappointing i'll be joined by one of them c.v.s. consultant psychiatry. the u.k. government you turned some schools as the plan to bring back all primary years

before the summer break in scraps. in the mideast a senior advisor dominic cummings faces a possible why did prosecution open his much criticized lockdown trip to daryn. thousands have gathered in houston texas to pay their respects ahead of the funeral of george for years the unarmed black man killed by a white police officer and whose death sparked global protests it comes as a run intensifies in the u.k. over statues with both london and cambridge targeted by anti-racism campaigners after demonstrators tore down the want of slave trade to edward colston in bristol well on a shadow ever joins me now with the latest. charges so what's the latest political . news go i am standing here outside parliament square a rarity just behind where is the structure of what still church over many
10:02 am
activists a symbol of racism and colonise station or is it today parliament square the activists will be gathering in much larger numbers out 5 pm local time to commemorate the. the death of george boyd of course on the man who died at the hands of police in police custody weeks ago a white officer on his neck for the 9 minutes not smart protesters are today it comes of course as members of his family gathered in his hometown in texas released and to try and celebrate the commemorate his life of course his death though his killing has sparked a huge wave of clockwise massive protests across the world or even here within the united kingdom in various cities and indeed even in london because many activists in london in the u.k. would argue that police brutality institutional racism is not just an american issue they would also argue it's a british one as well having said that the prime minister boris johnson says that the government is committed to eradicating racism in this country has made huge
10:03 am
strides i remember the 1970 s. and the era of the national front but i truly believe that we are a much much less racist society then we were in many ways we're far happier than better. but. for mortgage there is so much more to do in eradicating prejudice and creating opportunity and the government is committed to that effort and. i will support. those who break the law or attack the police. public monuments where we have a democracy in this country. right. now throughout the last weeks of protests here in the way we heard various charts from the u.k. it's not innocent i myself witnessed outside policy running down the street the chance that boris johnson is
10:04 am
a racist and you only have to look at recent news to know the boris johnson stuff has been going to know much of allegations from racism to bigotry reporting back people committees with watermelon smiles saying that colonise ation is only about thing because he's been declawed in the eyes and of course in recent years comparing muslim women so that's boxes so many people would argue how seriously are the british government taking the fight against racism. in the meantime another topic memorial statues are all around the u.k. they're under the microscope. yes absolutely the black cross muftis protests and movements across the really reinvigorated. the u.k. of similar stuff she's an activist opinions those legacies of called innovation legacies of racism and oppression over the weekend on sunday we saw absolutely iconic scenes in bristol where price was pulled down of an english 17th century slave trader under the name edward colston he was pulled out by protesters and
10:05 am
thrown into a river nearby but of course london itself has various structures right here a part of it spread very controversial figures from winston churchill this took me to of course abraham lincoln both of which were defaced and vandalized over the weekend with the road spaces written all over them like the. but cole since she made the case would argue that these 2 need to be moved and some potentially could be taking matters into their own hands looking at the case in the 1st however they're known to master the heart of his words he says even though they should not be glorified they are a part of history. i'm quite clear we shouldn't be memorializing we should be commemoration celebration as icons people who are slaves. we should be doing is making sure that the streets of london the public roam the squares be reflected. so must be said that the london
10:06 am
cause i'm not sure if you enter these cultures that she's under the commission for diversity in the public from following all of this controversy but talking of such a general facing them on destructing has really split opinion but most agreeing with the tension not agreeing with the tactics. you destroy the statues i guess we should probably move to like museums where we can appreciate the history behind it doesn't matter if the person did one thing good couple of things good if the person has done. disgracefully to parts of the society why do we need to start this person out the problem is we are going to write history. we call that creative sickly if you're looking into historical figures and saying they had an involvement in slavery or a spate of you know if you there is a cut off of it if they demonstrate behaviors that were racists and i think it
10:07 am
should be and i and i think that this election is for black people and for other people in this country to build it so what needs to be looked at is that some of these statues of people have got a history of racism do they need to be removed it's not fair when the people who are here. groups and. slavery you know i mean we we are history's going to slavery we should we should put in shameful force it is our history. i find it's a very dangerous things to start it's a bit like a child tarried regime wanting to you know but i don't need you for trying to clear your whole past and pretend that we are a different change society we are changing but i think you have to be very careful to remember your past so that you don't make the same errors again. well we've also heard reaction from all sides of the political spectrum on the more extreme side we have the unsurprisingly the facts parted and nigel farage was called the actions of
10:08 am
the protestors of that of the taliban and 17 cases living in the well of course and how much of a backlash for the tweet was members of the public but some claiming the power of these belonged in a different century and of course we've got many labor m.p.'s read hailed the actions of those 1st and commended protesters for taking matters into their own hands not eradicating history but me being part of it and making it so turning attention away from pubs away from bristol to oxford that many seem to be inspired by the us interest story today they will be gathering outside the silver age. since over it was a 19th century imperialist in south africa he laid the foundations of the controversial exploitative labor system valuate the door of the seizure of the lands in south africa and many people got his start she also took the move to base once they also say they will be gathering outside but she remains to be seen whether they'll be going down a similar breach of that in bristol but on an old putting this all into
10:09 am
a wider context the back was left to me but of course i could buy the absolutely tragic killing of george floyd almost 2 weeks ago has sparked an abrupt movements worldwide really putting all aspects of racial inequality injustice oppression of racism really is. the spotlight. going to very much on today. where doctors have condemned the official reported to the impact of corona virus on black an ethnic minority groups more than 30 medical groups have signed a letter saying there's now a crisis of confidence in the study's authors public health england we have long been aware ethnic disparities in health outcomes sadly this review does nothing to further our understanding and we must express our proposed disappointment as a priority p.h.e. most urgently publish in full any recommendations and actions it plans to take to
10:10 am
address inequalities be am the communities face this is a crisis of competence and credibility we cannot afford we're probably getting those review revealed that black a nesting minority groups are up to twice as much at risk when compared to the people of white ethnicity but critics say the report failed to give any reasons or recommendations for actions needed the study failed to adjust findings for longer term health conditions or occupations or meanwhile the department of health said more work was needed following the findings of the public health england report the government is taking action more needs to be done there qualities minister is now undertaking further work to protect our communities from the impact of covert 19. well to discuss this i'm now joined by senior n.h.s. consultant psychiatry and one of the signatories to the letter professor spammer press about my thank you for joining us and what response do you expect from the
10:11 am
health secretary. so thank you very much so as chair about you know we've joined 35 other organizations who represent pretty much every corner of society you know chest. and we've come together to ask for action and so as you rightly set the public health england review was meant to there are some to objectives for the review there were 6 in fact objective set which was to look at the data and make recommendations the 6 recommendation of the 6 action point was to make recommendations of the report nothing much new we nor that you know black asian minority ethnic people have a higher chance of dying as compared to the way to population this is true in the community and when you look at health care workers it's even more stark because who were 90 percent of the doctors have died have come from the pain community and 71 percent of the nurses and midwives who have died have come from the big community
10:12 am
so this disparity what colbert has done is exposed this this disparity that has existed in our society for quite some time. so why do you think that the report failed to address these issues could it be that they simply don't know the full art says well it would be correct to say that nobody knows the full the answers but we don't one more data want to all of these organizations when we've come together. and we as we're standing shoulder to shoulder on this issue is that we say look the data is that there are so many stories the world's largest study has shown it demonstrated exactly that the has been said in the report the what if your bia me your almost twice as likely to die from coverage so the idea is well look let's look at the recommendations together let's look at how
10:13 am
we can stop further deaths let's look at of course some things have been the as has been known for social determinants of health and and welfare as a liberal incipient things that have been going on for quite a while but now is the time to act because we feel that norm or to it's unnecessary doubts and actually any death or any health care worker from colbert should be a never teach should never have come of as about my eventually and occupations there are say health conditions as well are there they also main factors i mean some studies believe they could also be other underlying factors we have so much data don't play well yes and. a few studies on this and we found that being b m e itself was an independent risk factor and the absence of p.p. adequate p.p. was also a risk factor so there are a number of issues that might be risk factors we know from studies that if you want to see if you have chronic renal failure to meet d.
10:14 am
deficiency if your metabolic syndrome obesity who all these things might contribute to early death that we're patient suitable to call it but on the other hand let's bring it all together the scientists and if we don't want we don't want and cers that we're asking for there are some unser that are there no let's work on those goals and work on a longer term solution so there's a mid term solution and there's a longer term solution what colbert has done is that surely. broad light on the dark statistic of an equality that an equality is exist across sometime we're not supposed to be corrected tomorrow but we've got to act no to stop our generations from suffering that sort of inequality within the system in the meantime though as a short term measure could this be addressed to as much reassure people as also for practical measures be addressed by social distancing and personally way some form
10:15 am
of p.p.a. like a mask where if you go well the data on this obviously is is there how to quit p.p. is absolutely necessary this is why we've found that acute correlate towards such as intensive care units because the how to quickly p. . of are not occurring in seoul so we know that how to quit does protect our care workers from down your those it's very sad statistic so of care all residents are in a care home so off to green die in the filipino nurses who have died so we know that if they are adequately equipped the dark will protect them from the virus at least in the place of work so the is absolutely a given is that something that could be extended for the general public though when we have been advised haven't we that we're going on public transport that we were that have to wear a mask or some kind of facial covering is that something that could be advised in the meantime for communities and something that communities can do for themselves to make themselves feel more reassured. yes the data on this might not be
10:16 am
absolutely clear but i am absolutely of the belief that wearing masks in public when your out there is going to help to contain a virus i do believe that my cousin believes that that is the case and i think that he has you seen in other places you know you see lots of places in china or in other places korea where everybody seems to be worried about ask and saw a movie my personal opinion indeed you also have to balance between economic demands as well and the pressures on people and also people shielding for their own protection to feel the ethnic minority should shield. well those and those who are at risk we know that they should shield because of course the economy is important but health is more important because if you don't have physical or mental health you are not likely to go though you are not likely to contribute to the economy of
