tv Americas Lawyer RT June 10, 2020 7:30pm-8:01pm EDT
7:30 pm
pavin tony on this is america's lawyer the destruction of labor unions in american workplaces has helped destroy the middle class and cause the income gap to grow out of control and today corporations are so afraid of unions coming back that they're going to extraordinary lengths to make sure that they never do so i will tell you the actions that companies are taking to prevent labor unions from forming also tonight sweeping protests across the country ever exulted in mass deployments of armed police forces but people have noticed many officers without badge is just who are they agencies who they work for and later in the show will provide an update on the looming 2020 alleged in exactly where trump and biden stand in one of the most to mulch election years in history don't go anywhere america's war starts right now
7:31 pm
. major corporations will do almost anything to prevent their workers from starting a union even if it means violating the most basic human rights that's exactly what's happening in this country right now and i have fair and cousins from the trial lawyer magazine to talk about it i saw this article it's remarkable we go back to the days of henry ford and put it on steroids lay the story out for us what is interesting because what we're finding out now is that this practice of surveilling workers has not only been continuing over the years but it's evolved and one of the more disgusting things that we're seeing happening right now it happens to be of course with amazon at whole foods which amazon now owns they're using heat map technology to try and determine if their workers are meeting in in large groups while there were. working to see if they're possibly unionizing
7:32 pm
because any time amazon believes you have workers congregating together that could be potential union talk and that of course is dangerous of course that's crazy that amazon thinks that any time 34 workers are together is a bad thing and that it's automatically a union but that is what's happening in these $510.00 whole food stores you have across the country so so just for example this this whole foods store there's $95000.00 employees ok there's over $500.00 stores that they have so they're not just tracking their own employees they're tracking their employees that then go about to go out into the neighborhoods and they're looking for demographics what are the economic problems were like in the main what is what is poverty look like who's going to come in and buy food from us but the ugly thing is is your point are there 5 people meeting well then there must be a conclusion that these people are trying to form union and then they sent in the
7:33 pm
union busters this goes all the way back to him before doesn't this he did it without this technology but he did it with by bringing in minorities didn't write it henry ford you know he did have this company that would surveil the workers and try to make sure there was no talk of unions even though there was huge talk of unions but and so what do you do with a time when nobody was hiring african-american workers he would bring in all these workers who would work for less so would scare the white employees saying well gee i can't talk about a union anymore because if i do they're just going to replace me with somebody who works for half as much and that is how he busted unions and to an extent that practice is still in place today what we see these corporations doing like use just pointed out with whole foods they're looking at the demographics of the area and if they say ok well this area is pretty poor you know we've got a lot of minorities here let's reach out and bring them into the store because they have found when there's more minorities there is actually less talk. of
7:34 pm
unionization less chance of i knew of it 1st of all the salaries are less the benefits are less they treat minorities in a way that henry ford did he bring them in and i want to pay him very little this this story though is that there's something called a mac address in a sea address and every every phone has it every i pad has it they're using this mac address to do this explain it just a little bit is it it's actually a fairly elegant kind of process it is and this is crazy sneaky here what it is is if you're working at a store sometimes even if you're just a customer if you have your bluetooth turned on your phone or your wife i turned on you don't even have to connect to the store the store has already ping dear phone and gotten the address and so then what they do they have their own data analytics companies that they use they subcontract where they do it in-house and they then track where you're going to you're talking to where do you live do you live in a good neighborhood do you live in
7:35 pm
a poor neighborhood do you live you know with other people is there talk or you congregating with people from work outside of work and also while you're out work are you walking around and are you doing your job are you staying around too much every movement of these workers both on and off the clock is being tracked from that mac address that they don't even know they've given to this company they did it just from having bluetooth turned they're also adding facial recognition by the way now who are these people i mean who are these people coming up with this retail next retail next one of the companies develops this technology it's just no different inspire works right and it spire works that not only affects them at their job it affects them at home in their it in their daily life as well. as senate majority mitch mcconnell is still trying to give corporations immunity from from the coronavirus lawsuit this story is so ugly and here's why the u.s. . member of commerce came in every time there's every time there's an emergency
7:36 pm
kind of situation the united states these freaks these these greedy freaks from the u.s. chamber of commerce who by the way they're not mom and pop they're 19 or 20 of the largest corporations in the world so they pile on alec alec is another organization that piles on they pile on and they try to get the turtle man here to basically give corporations almost total tort immunity no matter how bad the conduct is relating to whether they make the workplace safer the worker pick it up from there right you know mitch mcconnell has long been a friend a good ally of both the chamber of commerce of alec and he is out there pushing their agenda right now which is complete corporate immunity from any kind of coronavirus related lawsuits he has personally said mcconnell has there will not be a nother relief bill if it does not have this immunity and to their credit the
7:37 pm
democrats said ok we'll think about it we were not closed off to it so this could be easily a bipartisan you know effort democrat murs the democrats are in line for well as nancy pelosi nancy pelosi comes and says well we don't have a red line yet there's no room when when they answer palosi says that she says i'm probably going to go along with them and so to talk about what this means they put in place immunity though no matter how bad the conduct is of the corporation the corporation may know that coronaviruses all over the premises i think field smithfield is great example people died left and right people people contaminated left and right at smithfield the folks then left work took it home to their families and ordinarily you would have a lawsuit that would that would extend all the way to the workplace not anymore now here's what really gets ugly they want that then to extend beyond. coronavirus
7:38 pm
turtle man here you know if there's anybody in poem merican politics that we should be worried about it's this guy he is the most insidious character in washington d.c. right now and he's wholly own by the u.s. chamber of commerce and alec where you know and you pointed out something great here is it's never just about what they say it's just about when we're looking right now at this administration the e.p.a. says we're not going to enforce any regulations we're cutting back surveillance or enforcement scuse me still think of the time of labor cutting back in foresman just so we can kick start the economy and what they're going to see is once people start building in the infrastructure so they'll say well that works so well let's just keep it let's just keep it let's let's make it take it further and that's what he'll do with this everything is always a test to see how much further they can push and that's what this is well for example their work and work now with electric cars and automobile self driving cars
7:39 pm
turtle man has already has already sneaking in stuff to not benefit he doesn't want to benefit the industry or he wants to benefit the corporate whores that he works for that's what he wants to do and so so what he's doing is building little bills around the idea that if you if you're run down by a truck that self driving sorry there's a minute here and so so this starts taking with a little seed and then before you know it turtle man here has expanded it well beyond that this is a dangerous little guy and why they can't get rid of them is is a mystery to me. most americans agree that we need policing reforms and there's a very obvious reason why those reforms have never happened political money talk about this plea talk about the police you know you would think they would understand what sincere and what's not what tom tell me about this nancy pelosi gets this money from the police unions right then. she turns around and does wad of
7:40 pm
well aside from the ridiculous photo op yeah she does absolutely nothing she does absolutely nothing you know the relief bill or the reform bill she is or that we saw earlier this week it includes almost nothing that isn't already codify it in state laws across this country you know that they made the chokehold illegal cable the choke hold already illegal we might might get rid of qualified immunity well some states have already done that there are certain limitations on it already so that's not a whole heck of a lot but what you there's no big change here bright light isn't all performance art ok the performance art what a ridiculous how ridiculous the democratic leadership look dressed up in african garb on their knees the the arafat did you see this photo it's unbelievable the worst thing about it is that this 80 year old woman couldn't even get up after she had been on her knees looking like
7:41 pm
a total buffoon the african-american community has reacted to it they said how dare you think we are this stupid how dare you and she's doing the same thing with the police officers how dare you think we're this stupid nancy pelosi chuck schumer idiots running the democratic leadership that doesn't that kind of set up what you're talking about here what it does of the center for responsive politics who tracks money in politics that all levels here they've come out and said listen we know everybody wants reforms the polls have increased by i think 20 percent in the last week on that this is this is universal but they're saying listen the democrats are trying to sell you one thing but follow the money you have to follow the money most of this police union money most of the police super pac money is going to democrats in congress and in the senate and that's what's preventing real reform from taking place at the national level so this is a facade your point is the hold nancy that the idiot show. that we saw with her
7:42 pm
down on her knees with schumer dressed up in african garb if i were you know the reaction is exactly what you would think how dare you think we're this stupid but they do think that now apparently they think the same thing with police officers right they do and that's also part of the problem everybody in d.c. thinks they're the smartest person in the room they think they can always have the cake and eat it too here we're going to pay lip service over here pay lip service over there but at the end of the day we're always going to do whatever is going to help my next campaign and that is where it is you know the black lives matter the protesters they're not the ones funding these politicians the people calling for reforms they're not funding these politicians so there are unlikely to get what they want from the current people the current leadership in d.c. they want what they they want to happen they know what to do and that is get rid of the leadership that's there oh result is having had a disastrous bunch of leadership they've got to fair and cousins thank you for
7:43 pm
joining me thank you. civil rights protests across the country have attracted swaths of armed police units reportedly assigned to keep the peace so why are these reports of officers without any badge is or identification why there's reports out there that more when we come. from point is now made it to the gates of the central bank in the chaos just like of course apocalypse now was a remake of part of the dark best senate really reflects the chaos of the insanity of the vietnam war america's heart of darkness america's plunge into the imperialistic insanity by spending billions on to conquer the really nothing.
7:44 pm
vital interest but spending billions and trillions to get there were surveyed it's a repeat of the insanity but on a much more epic scale. 54 jets and more than 1300 military personnel are headed to air force base in alaska where is that to say come on i'll show you what's the reason for any type of enhanced u.s. military presence in this area russia. what is it suddenly about the south china sea that makes it so that it 11000000000 barrels of oil. take a look at this map who really owns what kind of says no it belongs to us india says no we claim that that belongs to us both of these countries have nuclear weapons capabilities there is reason for concern so that's why we're going to drill down on
7:45 pm
this story for you today right here on the news with rick sanchez where you know as we always like to say we do believe by golly it's time to do news again. there was a clip of. a little skit. it was. not so much you need the music immediately. they can put us in the mood and get the connected up by the smithsonian brushing teeth if they look at from to the cookie that at the day i. see they have a catholic yes. the. yes fuck.
7:46 pm
ya. you could be both with the yeah you know what. in a fireball heavily armed law enforcement officials have been spotted protests across the country over the past 2 weeks or to resume the joys we did talk about who are they what's going on is this america's new secret police review the latest story this is a remarkable story. i mean it's absolutely crazy now heavily armed men were spotted
7:47 pm
at protests in washington d.c. following the police killing of george floyd the men were in uniform but they had no identifiable badges or department markings when reporters asked them to identify themselves they then refused to answer and according to attorney general william barr the federal officials came from the bureau of prisons special operations response teams which he had summoned to monitor the unrest unlike members of the military federal law enforcement officers are not required to wear identifiable uniforms but their presence confused demonstrators and members of the media who were not sure whether the men were actually real law enforcement officers or just guys wearing costumes law enforcement experts criticize the decision to send an identifiable feds to monitor crowds calling the move very concerning by deploying secret police to the streets the citizens have no way to identify officers who engage in misconduct while representing the federal government. police and other
7:48 pm
departments around the country have also been hiding their badges where's this happen why is it happening what's your take. well videos from recent protests show officers covering their badge numbers and names with black bands which police say is a morning ritual to honor fallen officers. but many police departments don't allow officers to intentionally hide identifying information so when these officers were asked why they had covered their badges they often said it was an accident they claimed that the morning badges had slipped or their morning bans had slipped but many officers were also spotted with tape covering their badges and others had removed their pouches all together now this was not an isolated problem you can see videos of this happening from officers in new york seattle and chicago to name a few cities this made it nearly impossible for protesters to identify those officers who attacked to them while they were peacefully protesting as we saw the
7:49 pm
video after video of over the last 2 weeks. you know a disturbing incident the protest in san diego last week has gone viral video shows a group of men pushing a woman into another more car and driving all. who were these people. well apparently they were officers now they were dressed in plain clothes and military style uniforms with no identifying markers they were caught on video arresting a female protester and hauling her away in an unmarked van as a friend screamed at the men to identify themselves take a look. at him or you know we heard. yesterday or i'm going to run you're going to go no you're not right.
7:50 pm
as you heard there the unmarked officers are then shown yelling. the woman's friends quote if you follow us you will get shot do you understand me this is incredibly frightening and it really looks like a kidnapping because there's absolutely no way to know whether these undercover police are legitimate law enforcement officers they don't identify themselves when they're asked to they don't show their badges for all this woman's friends knew they could have been a random group of agitators hollering hollinger off till the end of time and once that video went viral san diego officials looked into it they found the officers who said that they arrested her for allegedly swinging a cardboard sign at a passing officer on
7:51 pm
a motorcycle but this is very disturbing this is one of the reasons why people are protesting against police currently. thanks for joining the please keep up with the stories matter fact if we can do in the next week i'd like to do it let's dig a little deeper into the story sounds like it almost sounds like a federal secret police a state secret but this is not something you would want to cure in the u.s. thank you for joining me ok. thanks mike polls show americans are looking ahead to the presidential election is a chance to return to normalcy following the nightmares and then make historic recession and sweeping civil unrest but what do numbers really mean for biden intro media analyst david lam joins me to talk about this david 1st of all let me let me get this out on the media analysts who follow polls let me tell you my problems with polls and here they were a disaster in 26 mitigated no argument what are they defend the poll industry defending themselves on this what are they saying because outlook at
7:52 pm
a poll right now i go what does it mean does it mean anything to me that you're going to love this because their response is we got it right ok even though there's scant evidence of any poll store or polling service that actually said donald trump is going to win it but they said we did get the hillary clinton won the popular vote we were right on that but it is it is. to understand and really believe that the pollsters in 2016 it is difficult to trust them in 2020 what impact ok so here we are we have all this turmoil we've got a pandemic we've got protests. we've got a guy that can't speak without saying something stupid he can't twitter without saying something stupid what does it mean in the polls if the democrats made a decision that biden's in you listen to james carville oh it's over all but it has to do is stay in is in the cellar and not say anything i think i'll be ok what is
7:53 pm
your to you follow races like this a lot i have and this is an interesting race that we have here because this is all about donald trump that's really what this is about love him hate him it's all about him but so the polls show that biden has a clear advantage and has for some time over trump the averages anywhere $6.00 to $8.00 percentage points there's a poll they n.b.c. news wall street journal poll that showed biden's advantage $4942.00 up some but biden has led this race for a good long while but what's interesting is the he really has done it from his base but it's had little to do with what biden has done right and you ticked off the list of what this year's what 2020 has been like for trump it's just been 11 struggle one challenge a pandemic a disaster right after the other and it is certainly reflected in the polls president trump has an incredible uphill climb although yeah well let's talk about
7:54 pm
hillary clinton went back and looked to the polls i'm interested to know where was she at this time against trump so normally nationally clinton had a one point lead over nationally at this point in 2016 university of virginia center for politics showed a comparison of clinton in 2016 versus biden today and this is how it looks at 1st to look at these nasha. polls are just meaningless what matters is the battleground states how they're doing in the battleground states because you've got to cobble together this electoral college votes that's really what matters remember clinton won the popular vote and she's not the president so in these battleground states that are crucial michigan clinton that was up for biden is 7 in florida a key state huge number of electoral votes clinton was barely down biden is up 3 and a half percent pennsylvania clinton barely up about 2 points biden up 7 georgia clinton was down nearly 5 points biden are tied and arizona clinton down for biden 5
7:55 pm
and a half of note here president trump with announced where he's going to be going for these rallies once the he gets the clear you'll notice he's going to arizona georgia all of these states that are crucial battleground places for him to win ok so. as you look at some of these one trend i'm saying is that biden still has problems with sanders supporters what is your take on it is like i said earlier there is no passion for joe biden there is no biden bump so it is all about it is all about trump an interesting poll was taken in never sanders voters it's a usa today suffolk county poll 20 percent of sanders voters flat out stated they're not going to back biden they're either going to vote for trump or they're going to sit this one out now what's interesting in that and 201615 percent of sander's voters did not support hillary clinton and look at how close that race was while
7:56 pm
president clearly has an uphill climb it's it's going to get closer and how close and how important sanders and let me let me ask you about that isn't fund raising i mean fund we haven't he has him start spending money at the trump has not started spending money yet yeah it's a problem i think what here yet. well the fun rising while biden may lead in the polls it's a blowout in terms of fund raising at this point the trump war chest is $255.00 plus $1000000.00 the biden war chest such as it is is not even $100000000.00 so there's more than $150000000.00 advantage there for the president and how that's going to come into play is president trump is going to go after joe biden you know it you know whenever he got in all the shock and awe was what's going to happen how will biden respond how can he was can respond with the money that he has can he respond that's the question he's got to pick and choose the battles that he's going
7:57 pm
to get and how he's going to respond bad 30 seconds is all we've got but tell me as this thing closes in the biden story can he stay in a cell or can he have some point is going to come out see the light of day trump is going to go after him you said shock and all that's what i believe is going to happen in the next 5 months trump is going to force him to take stands to have to respond and then what if there's a debate the debate between biden and trump that's that's the one i want you back on the show every couple weeks we're going to talk about this the numbers behind the numbers that's why i don't care what the national numbers say i want to know what's going on on the little subparts of those numbers that's often find us on twitter and facebook at facebook dot com slash r t america's lawyer you can watch all r t america's program on direct t.v. 321 might have into it with america's war where every week we tell you the stories the corporate media is terrified to tell because their advertisers won't let a good night.
7:58 pm
where they could be in this house right now. it's hard to convince me he owes me. to a minimum wage he can be recruited by a gay and sell drugs and make hundreds of dollars a day. still intro's his inner fish so when a person is still thrilled but sincere says he don't have to know how all the prison food it is he is flying to save jobs this clueless idiot lifestyle is going to fail. they can't find housing somewhere else does he have
7:59 pm
a criminal record. going to 5 jobs because of a criminal record so they don't have the money for that community anyway. they do not want black people to be equal they might want one black are they want one black famous person they want one black abyss and one black that. probably the greatest success of the civil rights movement was respect for human dignity all lives matter under the rule of law that was then but today the same concept has been turned on its head we were told to change to meet or face consequences social she is being turned into a ruling i mean all an. odd no no crowd. no shots no.
