amazing seeing the response to this kind of thing but at the end of the bay this isn't this isn't cities like i think you pointed out really these are cities that are out of control because they're already out of control these are cities becoming out of control because of the presence of the feds when you come in and you are being as a lawless as you possibly can you're not you know abiding by human rights you're not abiding by these people civil rights they're not getting due process you are treating them however you feel and then they're disappearing these are individuals who are many times getting locked up they're not being able to call family friends they're not being able to even call their attorneys so we're watching something happen right now that honestly people who are in the protest to begin with this is what they were protesting the whole thing about police brutality and the failures of our criminal justice system from beginning to end in all things in between then you see the federal government come in and basically do all of those. things at once and where is my libertarian brothers and sisters where is all those folks who said oh we don't want to press a government we in the 2nd amendment folks who say well we've got to stand up to

trump's reelection poll numbers his approval rating is taking a nosedive and in head to head match ups in swing states trump is trailing his democratic rival were vice president joe biden as of late trying to start to wear the mask for public facing the vents but bodos and videos emerged of him at private fundraisers without a face covering and it looks like many americans are doing the very same thing despite there being massive mandates to enter stores restaurants and bars and several states people are defiant and hefty fines like washington d.c. is 1000 dollars for not wearing a mask are popping up across the country some states and localities even tried to take a much harsher route like indiana where governor eric holcomb wanted to make wearing a mask a class b. misdemeanor punishable by up to 6 months in jail 6 months so much more renewed commitment to criminal justice reform lucky for indiana residents members of their coal comes old party publicly questioned in criticize the complies ation of not

wearing a mask as excessive punishment republican sheriffs even refused to enforce the mandate and with mounting pressure from fellow republicans who want back his push for jail time where's the wearing a mask is an important covert 19 preventative measure do these types of mandates and fines go too far. it's hard to say i think maybe right now but i mean down the line i hate to say there's we're down the line if things really keep spiraling out of control when it comes to covert then you have to look at that however criminalizing mask wearing is not it's one thing for you know a city or state to say. we need you to wear this it's criminalizing it's a whole other thing because as you and i both know i'm sure they won't be out there busting folks in georgetown or in manhattan for not wearing their mass properly they're going to go into poor communities and they're going to go into communities that can't afford to pay excessive fines or communities are already been thrown in jail numerous time for idiotic your crimes that's why they're going to go and

you're absolutely correct and this is the exact same thing that happened with social distancing mandates before the before the reopening because in places like chicago new york even d.c. what we saw was a lot of patrolling going on in african-american and latino communities meanwhile if you go to the wider sides of town those neighborhoods were also throwing parties they were also not social distancing they were not wearing masks and there was no penalty for them so what we see consistently is that those fines and fees that jail time it happens for minorities it's not something that's equally applied across the board no no and it's mere reminds me a lie that's the biggest fear with this kind of thing is the i don't think we should criminalize not wearing masks depending on what the situation maybe is if it's like look like if you go in there without the mask on puts many many lives in danger maybe there's an argument to be made for criminalization of not wearing it in a specific instance maybe there's an argument i don't know but yeah to me this feels a lot like you know the enforcement would be like stop and frisk in new york you know nobody's stopping and frisking to find people carrying drugs or paraphernalia

on wall street but they're doing it all day down in harlem and. it's just absolutely because you know do you believe should jail time be used as a turn for about wearing a mask is that excessive absolutely not jail time should not be used and i would argue that jail time shouldn't be used as a deterrent or anything really what we're seeing in this country is this idea and we've seen it or now going on for decades where the strategy has been in order to you know funnel money to counties money funnel money to local government let's just lock people up because they look at it as a sense of this keeps a certain industry. employee and it's pressure rating because it does not do anything we know that it doesn't deter behavior it never has and it's not something that only works besides that there is something else to be said about there being a social strategy to getting people to wear masks we talked about for years there being a a me generation well we're seeing a whole me country we are the only nation on the globe that seems to not understand

or not care about why we're in facemask is important because we're very you know individualistic that you i think you hit the nail on the head with that one that's but what's been one of the biggest problems we we had that american exceptionalism thing so codify in our brain that everything that we do is right nothing we do is wrong and we deserve the you know we deserve this the now this is what happens when you kind of raise a generation of generation now i think the younger generations jonesy more that i think a lot of them are getting it they've lived through enough and you know 911 financial crashes everything else to say let's just be safe but it's convincing the older generations we're not going to go with a president who only malware is a mask because it's politically convenient absolutely when you have the head of your nation deciding that this is all a hoax that he doesn't have to do this that c.d.c. guidelines throw them all to the wind i'm going to do whatever i want you can expect the nation not to follow suit he is someone who has to take responsibility for basically being the example for the nation and he's just kind of fallen short

follow up a little bit on what you just said do you think schools can feasibly follow the c.d.c. recommendations we all know what they are social distancing that requires you to decrease class size that requires them to change you know the regular go to cafeteria time decrease the amount of students who are in the hallways passing for any classes also use regular people eat plants cleanliness and things like that and other tactics to reduce the spread of cohabit our schools are quick to even attempt this in a matter of only a few days since a lot of this country schools would start would return at all because. that's that's an amazing question i've been to over 350 schools in the past 5 years and schools with money can probably pull it off but the book the schools i want to camp of how are you going to have social systems classes so where are these schools were failing before code we had when they were going to school the head 40 students in a class before called it like i've been to so many schools i want to i want
