with business entirely unrelated to the pandemic from confirming a raft of right wing federal judges to forming a plan to force through troubles you had to be named supreme court pick ahead of election day so just to put that into perspective for all of us are a lot of. elected officials in a time of national emergency and health crisis have decided that your health and financial security must take a backseat to getting themselves reelected and securing the taggerty of a criminal justice system and supreme court that has more often than not cared more about the rights of corporations than your own and if the 2020 season finale plot just isn't juicy enough for you enter series star and leading man one u.s. president donald trump who announced this week without hesitation that he has no plans to leave office anytime soon even if he were to lose on november 3rd telling reporters we're going to have to see what happens you know i've been complaining very strongly about the ballots in the ballots are

a disaster. with the 1st of 3 debates but this tuesday the 29th of september it certainly appears that 2020 humanities worst reality television series is getting picked up indefinitely which is why it's time to change the damn channel and start watching the hawks. if you want to know what's going on on a city the street you want to see. the missiles which see the crisis you always state i'll see you rolls royce gracie suggests least systemic dissent says the late show which was. so when the guild. welcome everyone watching. them for and i will be joining us today to discuss this week's rollercoaster of news and political chaos and the reality show that is 2020 is rob richardson the host of disruption l. podcast an ad martin the president of phyllis schlafly eagle form education legal
10:32 pm
defense fund always a pleasure having you both gentlemen. good to be on. the right are you with 1500000 americans filing for unemployment benefits just last week more than 20000000 people across the u.s. facing you know going hungry are we going to really see congress pass another much needed cope with 19 relief bill or are they truly going to head for their campaign offices instead after fast tracking the supreme court nomination. well look i sure hope so i'm with you on this i think i mean we ought to have targeted relief for our working working folks that are working families you know i would love to see something include school choice or some help for families that have to deal with different education costs but look i'm willing to join you on the criticism i think palosi house has failed and mcconnell's senate has failed to come to a deal i think the president would sign almost anything that had some of those provisions in it but if they won't come to
10:33 pm
a an agreement he's happy to do the stand back and say. hey look at the swamp i got to keep drain in the swamp and i think his poll numbers go up every time pelosi and mcconnell fight it out like this robert your thoughts. well you know does no responsibility of leadership there guess what i wish that the same type of urgency that they're going to do for the supreme court pick this president with covert hit because that could have prevented a lot of this with actual real leadership right now he should be trying to lead instead he's just trying to pass blame that's not what a leader does and he is responsive this culture is responsible for this and so he had to act like a leader and if this is important to him go fight for it go fight for like you do like he does everything else he really believes in but even think to this is where i will agree with my for he thinks the chaos helps him because he's an agent of chaos that's not what a good leader does not i mean that's a less a new talking point this chaos line i've heard out of the democrats for about 24 hours but listen to the president
10:34 pm
a lot of the president care how the press well that's a talking point that's come and i know i know how the linguistic short works here but here's a here's the point the president took it serious enough that he cited executive order and he gave money back to workers he's saying he'll do it this is the great thing about america we have a president who's not a dictator he's got a weight palosi leads us that he won last a 2nd that and everybody you guys keep every keep saying that the only thing the only because you say it is very good politics we saw it the only disabled american politicians you can say that was pretty good i don't know we were good to see how it was tried out to go to south korea we'll get to that i mean so if we operate under if we operate under the theory that most of america is right now that there is not going to be another really bill path do you think this is just another example that the business of the united states is more important than the threat of sins of the united states in the eyes of the u.s. government because after all congress was really quick to give billions of dollars and called it relief funds to the airlines in the financial industry including
10:35 pm
payday loans and title loan companies but ultimately they just gave $1200.00 to survive the rest of the year on and i'll let you go ahead and take that one person . oh yeah that's an easy question for me the answer is yes i mean. we care more about our corporation that we do about the people that the corporations are supposed to serve weak the corporations are more important just look at what you just said $1200.00 look at what other countries did better that didn't go through the same type of economic hardship that we did for coburn 1000 because they supported businesses 1st by supporting their workers we did the opposite we supported businesses hoping that they might support their workers that is not the way to go about it and by the way i am for business but i'm but i'm for people too and when you had tons of people just go without their jobs because the cove in 1000 the national response should have been that but there was no leadership there and that was probably across the board of death we're going to have some some blame of the president and i think congress overall they are all responsible for not having
10:36 pm
the right type of response for people and what are your thoughts. well look we're in a pandemic 100 year thing and sell terrible i agree but i think actually in this case there was lots of waste and lots of bad bailouts i'm with you on that i think there was junk and money misspent but think about what happened the p.p.p. meant to bolster businesses and i've heard from a lot of businesses that were able to hang in now it's gone on longer it's tough and then there was direct payments to families but when the thing got blocked up because palosi and mcconnell can't stop you know the swamp fight trump then with an executive order which guys like me i don't like executive orders and the presidential power i get nervous obama did it trump doesn't and trump did it and said keep more money in your paycheck by cutting payroll deductions guys that's what a leader does he does the things he can within the framework he does and he's done it successfully we're still in a pandemic it's horrendous and i agree with everybody on that we ought to do more but the buck stops with palosi mcconnell and trump it's not as if i'm think you
10:37 pm
know you just like right ok without it we could not disagree that way but let me just say what you do on the payroll thing does nothing more than a trip you have to pay that back that's not money should be going to people directly who went to the starship through no fault of their own like that but when they tell us not to look at it this. way wait let me just like i'm talking about leadership across the board he leads the charge to say we should be doing this directly for people and here he done that look this is what i do know about the republican party i'll give you guys credit you to follow your leader no matter what they do and what they say had to go out there and done that that would happen and it did not happen i want to deal with a lot had a lot to do with his leadership i don't know if i don't want to get to you know we kind of brought it up a little bit earlier because you'll be able to do anything american in my mind american hero n.s.a. whistleblower edward snowden sub once the quote a new leader will be elected bells will flip a switch say that because of the crisis because of the barriers that we face in the world some new one president of bread we need more authority we need more power and there will be nothing the people can do with
10:38 pm
a point to oppose it will be turn keep tyranny. with the response we've seen of the protests in the street the militaristic response we're seeing to black lives matter protests and others have president trump's continued claims false claims of a massive about election fraud is it safe to say that before the end of the year the united states could find mr snowden's warning a very real reality at all what you star. well i think we almost had that reality when we now see in the last 24 hours the documents released said obama and biden and susan rice were trying to take out the president the transition of power if you want to talk about the threat to transition of power i think we should i do think that the mail in ballots have destabilized this fall election that's what the president mean look hillary clinton everybody supposed to kneel down and say she's wise she needs said joe biden should never concede donald trump basically said we'll wait and see no one in this country should ever think that we're not going to have a peaceful transition of power we will when the new york times runs that story and
10:39 pm
says trump said something is simply not true and but here i will say this we now have ballots found in there just in a new and we have people wondering if their ballots are being counted and african-americans are disproportionately having their mail in ballot wap because of the system this is the system the democrats wanted biden wanted drop it's been saying it's arrest me for chaos your word and i'm worried about it too rob your response you know what's interesting is that this president has made that the issue he's made there's never been an issue with mail in ballots until he wanted to make it an issue because he was worried about more participation and let's talk about the blocking of the system in terms of voter suppression in this country voter suppression has been led by the republican party at least for the last 30 years you can look up paul white which please do it he had it he had a saying he said i don't believe in good government everybody in everybody building governments not one by the people participating we want the least amount of to people to participate who are people that's essentially what he said and it's been the strategy of the republican party specifically recently up when rob rock obama
10:40 pm
got elected they wanted to figure out ways to. but there is nothing wrong with mail in ballot our system works fine the issue is you have a president that's trying to is trying to cause now because trying to make people think about it when i saw that's what way way way you set this point on the president what he said is he was asked a simple question will you will you leave it in a peaceful transfer of power he said i'll have to wait and see because i don't trust the ballots that's not that's not the answer the answer is yes i will induce discussing well no one is robbed rob no i mean the president and the president talked about this not this obvious or you'd rather would be factually inaccurate but there's never been mail in ballots like this 5 states or that mail in ballots for years now and they do it fine that's not what we're having trouble and about 20 other states this year they've had mail in ballots absentee ballots are different everybody's done absentee ballots iran's election authority and saying look it's when you have an absentee ballot request and you get it you send it in mail in ballots california sending 5xw8xw to people's homes they're reporting multiple
10:41 pm
ballots to the same place for different names edward r. martin and martin and martin jr it's chaos that's because the democrats designed it and your guys have any 100 lawyers who read it or not i bet i got to say you got a lot of you got a lot of bargains in your household ok that's true that's probably going to be a living because i'm going to get out while as we both know i got it. as you don't know we're coming up on the actual presidential debate that brings a lot of excitement and i think the pending on to us with the 1st of the debates scheduled to take place this tuesday on september 29th what are you most looking forward to and on this you know clash of words and ideology between donald trump and joe biden what do you think of going to happen when the sparks start to plot and i'll start with you it. i don't think biden will show up i make that prediction i said earlier this week i think by sunday or so they'll announce he has committed and that he can't go on from there and no i and i really don't think he will debate if he does debate he'll be better than people expect but he won't be clear coherent
10:42 pm
and look trump won't be as good as people think you. well and maybe you guys don't think everyone says he's really even wasn't he's going to have ups and downs it's going to be bombastic i can show it up it'll be the largest you know people watching it on the large highest ratings ever which would be great but i don't think it shows up i really don't believe that joe biden will be there on tuesday i don't think there's an almost any chance. well i'll just say this about my republican friends and the president at the white house have done such a great job of lowering expectations that when joe biden which you will be able to do articulate a sentence he's going to weather debate because if you think about is what they say see now i can't. know if it's. because of the expectations or it's you know i say that because it could be good to be able to do that you so like thank you for that but there's a taste though we can easily see who from and i do find it sad and you know i know this from experience i do find of sad though that the political debates in this

country that we're conditioned to see on t.v. a really nothing more than w w e promo battles between the 3 people because there's really you know you know it'll be like zinger here zinger there and the maps about all we're going to see it be on the but i mean what issues well you know about i don't know how you phrase the i'm crazy birth because there are real issues like we talked about on this show and that you guys just did today which was absolutely phenomenal i want to thank you both for coming on and having a great discussion about the issues facing the country today as always rob richardson and martin thank you so much both of you for joining us i. thank you. all right as we go to break remember that you could also start watching the hawks on the man through the brand new portable t.v. app which is available on all platforms like i keep saying no excuses pick it up all right pick it up so you can find out but coming up the coca-cola company has been caught with their hand in the sugar jar and the california fire fighting prisoners and now in a fight for his freedom against ice and homeland security you want to miss these

scientists to downplay just how much soda and other sugary drinks drive humanity's obesity crisis. i guess it's time to have a coke a smile and a hush hush payoff r t americans john hardy has the story. the exact recipe and formula for coca-cola is dark sugary soda may still be a secret but the company's tactics when it comes to spending public health perception is now becoming crystal clear a new report published in the online journal public health nutrition from cambridge university finds that the coca-cola company paid $1500000.00 to a nonprofit organization called the global energy balance network or g e b n claiming to study obesity with scientists from west virginia university and the university of colorado between 20142015 the nonprofit investigative research group u.s. right to know teamed up with researchers from oxford university and analyzed more
10:48 pm
than 18000 e-mails between coca-cola officials and g.e. b.n. researchers they found that coke created the g.b.n. as a quote unquote friend to essentially downplay the role sugar plays in control of eating to obesity and instead blaming a lack of exercise not a bad diet or sugar for america's obesity epidemic. the report claims that coca-cola use several tactics and strategies to try and basically water down the links between sugary drinks and obesity. among them trying to obscure coax relationship with researchers minimize the public perception of its role and use these researchers to promote industry friendly messaging the executive director of us right to know gary ruskin said in a statement that coke used public health academics to carry out classic tobacco tactics to protect its profits while calling it a low point in the history of public health and
10:49 pm
a warning about the perils of accepting corporate funding for public health work that's not all another study published in the journal of health politics policy and law found that coke succeeded in redirecting china's obesity science and policy to emphasize physical activity key to its success was the industry funded global nonprofit the international life sciences institute corporate tactics like what coke use are nothing new for big business and the potential bad press for coke according to industry analysts a multi-billion dollar global giant is unlikely to stop the millions of people who continue sucking down that caramel flavored sugary sweet drink in the years to come from watching the hocks john hardy. wow coca-cola just take about a page right out of the tobacco industry place if it works for their why not if you don't like the science and get your own scientists to say otherwise if that's appalling then the lengths they wish they went to promote this is hilarious to me
10:50 pm
because there are people who will functionally believe it if a scientist there are people who believe almost anything about diet is that so it looked like it was legitimate and there are a lot of fitness industry professionals who are who are obviously excited about this because they'll do anything to have more people sign up for gym membership here. all the while it's sugar it is you know what i'm sad about that too is it's like yes no you know physical fitness and that kind of thing is incredibly important to the health of your body but so is what you put into your body so is the fuel that you use to run your body and if you're just living off of the you know. soto's now that i look i'll admit i love me some soda love me some soda until this year that i stopped drinking and guess what lost weight feel better you can definitely tell how the these things are unhealthy for you absolutely and what we know you know in the ratios when it comes to people who are obese or people who need to lose weight in general is that functionally that being that is the most quantifiable for weight gain or loss is what you eat and drink yes exercise matters
10:51 pm
exercise will always matter not so much for weight loss as much as it is for muscle tone for maintaining moral core. and we just want to make sure that you know as americans which we have one of the most obese countries in the world that these things like what coca-cola did is not only eradicated but there's also a punishment for them for literally going to the lengths that they did to make sure that people are still goes down and that is the real problem is that there really isn't much of a punishment like john abramson is reported to come like when you're talking about a multibillion dollar industry you know a little bit of bad press here doesn't really have to do anything. in california recently prisoner firefighter in effigy from laos fell victim to the brutal tactics and policies of the u.s. immigration and customs enforcement. kyles say leave after finishing his sentence of 22 years behind bars for robbery was such to be released on august 6th and instead was sun directly in the cost of the of u.s. immigration and customs enforcement are to correspondent the touch of sweet breaks
10:52 pm
down this tragic tale. a petition is circulating to stop governor gavin newsome from transfer in california prisoners into the hands of immigration authorities and now members of the asian law caucus are demanding the release of couse daily a prisoner who served his 22 year sentence and even battled wildfires wall incarcerated after serving 22 years behind bars 41 year old cow c. lee was scheduled to be released from prison while his sister was waiting outside a southern california prison to pick him up see lee was instead handed over to u.s. immigration and customs enforcement known as ice they put him on a plane to a detention center in the wheezy ena sealy is now in a holding pattern facing deportation to laos the only issue laos isn't home for say leave his family fled his native country when he was only 2 years old the mian people faced oppression in laos after fighting alongside the u.s. during the vietnam war after escaping to a refugee camp in thailand say least family made their way to fresno california got

into drugs and at 18 was kicked out of his house he was arrested after taking part in an armed robbery as he served time stanley help fight california wildfires in 20182019 he thought maybe this could lead to a career one day and will governor newsome just sign legislation to enable those with a criminal record to become firefighters saley still has other hurdles to climb governor newsome has sent hundreds of people to ice after they've served their prison sentences including. now a petition is circulating to release from ice back to his family in california but he's not the only one according to state records this year from january to may more than 500 people were put into ice custody after serving their sentences and we knew some released thousands of prisoners as a result of the krona virus at least 78 people were transferred to ice detention centers now safely as original release date was august 6th he's been in a holding pattern for a month and a half now a prison spokes person did confirm sanely was released after serving his full
10:54 pm
sentence but declined to comment regarding the ice transfer. absolutely awful on every front i mean the man has served his time and then now we're going to send them to the concentration camps of ice over 2 decades and the other frustrating part about this story is that we all know that gavin newsom recently signed into law the action to ensure that people who have been incarcerated who serve this fire fighters trying to stop these wildfires that have existed across the state would be able to be employed afterwards so you know you have this guy who was hopeful for some reasons but also someone who came here at 2 years old a port for all intents and purposes america is whole that's all he knows any paid his debt to society and that's what the whole idea is and i actually know from family friends i actually know somebody who was a firefighter a female firefighter who was in prison in california who went into firefighting while in prison and those fires got out and it was very hard for that person to initially get a job at that time thankfully
10:55 pm
a fire chief kind of you know wink wink said look i'll help you through this because i know you're good person but other than that that's why it's just it's so aggravating to see that new some on one hand does this but on the other hand it's like well i guess ice has the you know ice the federal authority should automatically get these people when they're doing a head terrible job of taking care of people they're doing a horrible job and the crime that he was accused of uncertain for had nothing to do with his imprint is that if he has else i'm very confused as to how you know i feel like this is another grab for ice at this point also another grab for private prisons because they also are the ones who are in charge of regulating what happens once anybody who has it was in place with immigration gets out of prison. terrible stuff but my friends that is tragically the end of our show remember everyone in this world we are not told we are loved enough so i tell you all i love you. and i'm just keep watching all those hawks out there and have a great. so
