he's trying to get to the bottom of what happened on that flight from siberia to moscow in late august has brought a new turn crucially findings reveal of all the costs of doubt over what has been dubbed a key piece of information. that is alleged to have contained traces of chalk apparently lead to the conclusion that he had been poisoned by the nerve agent now this bottle of water was much talked about in the media and it was initially thought that had been smuggled out by one of his companions a marine up but this is actually something that she herself claimed in an interview that russian authorities to said touch me not true let's listen what they said. during the preflight security check of maria. novosibirsk there was no contain is of more than $100.00 milliliters in volume in her suitcase and backpack including any bottles of water after the check maria purchased

a $500.00 milliliter bottle of water from an asteroid vending machine with which she flew to the city of. this seriously challenges of course what members of the anti corruption fund that was set up by nifong have said so far now they say as soon as they found out she was hospitalized they went right to return to the hotel room he'd been staying in and raided it for anything suspicious they also posted a video on instagram showing them apparently locating this bottle with not the chalk though since some have caused doubt over how it's possible that they managed to casually handle something that allegedly held a deadly nerve agent now another revelation from this ongoing russian investigation consigns the airport in which these plane made an emergency landing this is port in siberia now the pilot says he made a request for an. 8 25 in the morning and 5 minutes later he received a message warning of a potential bomb scare in the region so that was for a short period doubt over whether they would be able to land the plane here's what
11:04 am
russian authorities had to say about that given the appearance in the media of a bomb hoax at the airport in the emergency landing of the plane carrying of only investigators working as additional versions of what happened it has been found that the anonymous message was sent through a server located on the territory of germany now germany of course has featured very heavily in of the story just a quick reminder it was to a bulletin clinic that ivana was late to sent and found the treated it was also in a german treat that allegedly these traces of found in a felony system in the meantime moscow has continued to ask the father information from all parties who are involved in this saying that they need to to aid them in their investigation to that and they've in fact sent 6 requests to judge many fronts and sweet and all these developments are happening as the diplomatic fallout from this story. on wednesday we heard that germany and france are planning to propose new additional sanctions against russia and they encourage the european

community to join them in that that will be formally discussed next week russia has responded by saying that this kind of language is just not conducive to international cooperation which is something that moscow said from the very beginning that it wants instead of through a police corporate scene with the russian federation with a view to clearing up the circumstances of the incident with the blogger the german and french governments have no turn to threats and blackmail against us at any rate we do not concede it possible to conduct business as usual with the lead in paris so a lot of new information coming out raising a lot of questions including in fact whether marina peptic who apparently brought in that bottle of water even woks for the anti corruption fund that has been some dispute about that so quite ma. it will certainly wait to see how it all plays out . ok let's talk with mark mccullough he's russia analyst and he joins us to saving haiti martin again what's your take on this new russian evidence she thinks likely

to change western the pinion on the case. it's curious here in jerusalem as dickens would have said it's more more complex and more difficult as if they go along and as we look into this situation everything becomes more more complex more more difficult to disentangle so therefore the statements by the russian minister here are very very interesting and berlin and paris will have to take into consideration the special effect of the hoops hoax called the wrong call apparently came from a german center to try to close down on the airport. which which part is ignored and landed and therefore the bottle of water oh well a lot was made of that ship sent by the german authorities by the berlin authorities but now the russians are clearly claiming the bottle never left lisa miller never left russia still in russia and so on so. but mary's or whatever
11:07 am
they're saying on falsely saying it's very difficult almost impossible to talk really sensible and reading the considered ways in new negotiable way with london with a person willing because they've made up their mind they've they've decided that russia which ones move and now we have to wait and see how they react to this new russian in europe is it if nothing else is it clear they've made up their mind while there are still a lot of questions to be asked. that would appear to be it because they're talking about how to get over to the european commission next week to impose sanctions which means that they have a rocky road that their own conclusions and it doesn't look as if the area i've taken seriously whether that to take seriously this new evidence by the ministry of the russian minister of interior i will have to wait and see whether they ride
11:08 am
right along we can't really go ahead with what we had planned we are absolutely convinced that the russian gross ones will come of which once more but now it's possible there's a doubt this is there's a doubt about all that evidence and so on so they may in fact killed back there for trying to impose sanctions but they reached a very very seasoned believe not to give hints at an event of the poisoning was in fact the responsibility of russia and it's going to take a lot more wish waiting to dissuade them from the view that the option of working with russia on this case still remains i mean just logically would it help if everybody were together on this to find out exactly what happened. it would do because the problem here is trust because the russians have been asking for. example well to know which uk agent which allegedly poisoned and allowed me. the german authorities of not. 100 provided them with
11:09 am
a sample of the charades and nato and the french all said it is no reach over it is one of the 100 agents but russia so far is not received a sample of it so until they do that it will be very difficult for the russians to agree that they're responsible because they want to know we want and we want to stop all of this not your agent so we can decide whether it actually is another job means and or not. kate moss and leave it there plenty of questions as usual the story well run and run that was martin mccauley russian analyst thank you. there you. have a raging territorial conflict between as and armenia is having a devastating impact on civilians caught in the middle both sides have released their latest combat footage fighting has been intensifying along with soldiers killed in the line of fire locals have died too according to the region's officials

11:16 am
least the end of the boat top restaurants local shops already open a business that will be open late at night will have to shop but doors at 11 pm. until 6 in the morning. covert cases are rising in germany at the fastest pace since made april as europe struggles with a new wave of infection the health minister says the new rules a needed because people and not taking the virus seriously. it isn't surprising with a lack of rules it is more a question of where certain rules are enforced and i think there is room for improvement in our beautiful capital city the chancellor has warned that with winter on the way things may be about to get tough young figured out is that i think of him so much because we learned a lot and did well throughout the summer but we know that one difficult times are ahead of us namely in the autumn and winter months and we see
11:17 am
a gradual increase especially in densely populated areas we have a number this rise in the numbers of infections this is of course a reason to be concerned but we also know how to position ourselves at all would certain measures but there is a small but dedicated group of germans that don't agree with the chancellor and being out on the streets to vent their upset that corona restrictions. was. was of a parts of germany a keeping a close eye on the infection rate in berlin and on cane on visitors from the capital spreading the virus to them i fear that berlin is on the edge of losing control we definitely don't want to have a situation like in madrid we don't want a situation like in paris where there has to be a complete lockdown where public life has to be reset to 0 elsewhere in europe
11:18 am
brussels has announced bars and restaurants will close as the belgian capital is riddled with corona $27.00 people tested in brussels returns a positive result the virus is everywhere in the region there is not a single municipality in brussels which is below the national average votes where restrictions put in place there's also pushback from some sections of society from conspiracy theorists who think the virus is a hoax for those terrified that the measures to stay. that spirit will cost them their jobs. but that is not what. while braces for what may well be a wind way you for cove it germany as

a whole remains one of only 4 european nations knocked described by the european center for disease prevention and control as being at a crucial rate of infection for now at least peter all of a see it but after months of living in the shadow of the virus it does seem that tempus are increasingly becoming fright with the restrictions a fight broke out between passengers on a plane in the united states over the wearing of a face mask. the fact. well the incident had started as an argument between a flight attendant and a passenger he was only wearing a face shield while they can be worn on board in addition to the masks they be used instead of when the incident spiraled out of control her security record and the passion to remove torquay partridge has been looking at how measures to keep people safe during the health crisis and i'm causing frustration. in march there were
11:20 am
positive reports of how people around the world were dealing with the coronavirus slowdown the italians were singing. the spanish were dancing. and the british were giving weekly rounds of applause to the national health service. fast forward 7 months and the world seems to be going covert stir crazy frustrations at the ongoing restrictions economic uncertainty for surging infection rates have driven sometimes has to boiling point and the focus for this is often those who don't wear masks. so the officers of the law think it is ok. it's. not.

that i think. you got me while the government struggled to contain the virus new hardships have inflamed old tensions in this instance 2 passengers on the u.k. bus burberry and physically abuse and apparently asian teenage girl for not covering her face. her. the mask has become the synonymous with the pandemic both as a symbol of protection and also restriction science supports using them research shows they cut down the chances of transmitting and catching corona virus and could reduce the severity of any infections but for some not wearing masks means freedom from state intervention that seen few countries get the virus under control with

more than a 1000000 dead worldwide protesters across the globe as saying what's the point and with almost a year gone since the virus 1st hit the headlines no end to the crisis in sight it's this symptom of a pandemic fatigue which has led the world health organization to warn it's threatening the country's ability to defeat covert 19. in such circumstances it's easy and natural to feel apathetic and motivated to experience for teague we can see not surprisingly that fatigue among those surveyed is increasing it is now estimated to have reached over 60 percent in some cases winter is approaching with its associated colds and flu and the expense of christmas and other religious celebrations a time of joy but also stress this year's festive season could yet prove to be out of the government's failed to effectively lead societies against an invisible enemy which threatens to divide as well as conquer a partridge r.t.

loved in. the face of the next presidential debate hangs in the balance trump is refusing to take part after it was announced his battle with biden would be held remotely well that came after the president called covert last where you can spend 4 days in hospital the debate had been due to take place in miami on october 15th trump explained his position in an interview. but you say you're not going to participate and no i'm not going to waste on a virtual debate that's not what the buildings are all about you sit behind a computer and do a debate it's ridiculous and then they cut you off whenever they want now while there may not be a 2nd presidential debate the 1st and only vice presidential encounter was held last night camilla harris and mike pence barred in the ring for 90 minutes on quarter look through the highlights with kevin. it was a big change of pace from the presidential debates from last week which looked more like a political circus than anything but this time around there were less aggressive
11:24 am
interruptions no doubt both candidates even seemed like they were showing each other a little respect at times but when it came to what what exactly they were debating a lot of it amounted to just attacking or defending the actions of the current administration from the very 1st day president donald trump has put the health of america 1st whatever the vice president is claiming the administration has done clearly it hasn't worked if the trump administration approves a vaccine before or after the election should americans take it and would you take it if donald trump tells us i said to him that we should take it i'm not taking the fact that you continue to undermine public confidence in a vaccine if a vaccine emerges during the trump administration i think is is unconscionable both presidential contenders for the getting only need is the worry is what if something happens to them has to be continuity in that one of the top jobs in the world the top job in the world isn't it and so a lot of focus on the vice presidents and how they might cope if they had to step into the big oops yeah absolutely kevin in fact no matter who wins the selection
11:25 am
biden or trump they will become the oldest person to be elected u.s. president in american history and so this debate that we saw was in a way between 2 potential future heads of state in the u.s. but when the moderator posed this question the possibility of a presidential disability depends he just moved in the direction to talk about the corona virus vaccine and then the question was posed to kemal heiress and she started talking about how proud her mom was of her so we didn't really get a clear answer on that sort of policy that wasn't made clear you know the rhetoric wasn't as heated as it was before but still not totally clear with these who were both but there was a gate crush to believe yeah absolutely a lot of people were talking about who won this debate and neither candidate really gave us much to work with there weren't even as many insults as in the presidential debate as we saw also. unsocial a lot of people on social media are saying that a 3rd party won the fly on my pencil.
11:26 am
and. went off to america did have special coverage right after the debate not just on that friday. discuss the encounter with political analysts there's a lot missing here in terms of substance i think there was a lot that was was lacking in this debate look at a political issue that was the centerpiece of the debates coronavirus the coronavirus is an important issue but it's not a legitimate political issue because not 2 sides to it there's not a pro coronavirus side in an anti krone virus side but there are legitimate political issues pro-choice pro-life views on gun control views on drug
11:27 am
legalization should america be the world's police anymore these are legitimate political issues that are not being discussed because again we're letting the media as well and the debates in a way that's just designed to be the most sensational and the most you know quote topical rather than the most politically or relevant is part of the problem of the format of the debate are they trying to cover too many issues would it be but we'd be better served to have one or 2 things that they talk about the whole night and really go at those issues and quite candidly why do we even have vice president to have this debate in the 1st place they don't create policy we're all very interested in policy and the technical details you know but a lot of people that's not the way that they make their decisions about voting and most people are trying to vote on. what they you know what their friends and family like they're making decisions about ideas that they've heard about but they don't. no the details i mean we can't expect regular americans to be knowledgeable about all these different vast policy areas even the politicians themselves don't really
11:28 am
know all the details of these different policy areas i don't think it's true that the american people are unable to understand the issues i think that the issues are intentionally obfuscated in a way to make sure that the average american cannot weigh in on them perhaps 3 different formats when you have maybe 3 or 4 broad categories that allow for the debaters to get into into the into those those categories might be important was there a winner who won this debate in pinning one. well i don't know if there is a winner or not i tend to agree that you know a lot of these questions are really not areas of substantive discussion i think we really can't expect them to get into the details of any kind of particular policies and that they're really not trying to do that they're trying to have some talking points and so you know kind of depends on what you're looking for neither one of the candidates really inspired a lot of confidence if we had to choose a winner i would have to say that had to be maybe. only because.
11:29 am
his way to the point. was her talking point she was to make out who in trying to acquire those points i don't think that either debate changed any single voters' opinion whatsoever i think that the voters had already made up their mind before the debate i think tonight's debate did absolutely nothing and the reason for that again is that the poll opinions were kept out this was a rigged debate we didn't have a libertarian view wouldn't the green party view nobody was there challenge challenging kemal harris on her terrible record of locking up nonviolent drug users we didn't have anybody challenging pants on trump's expensive and wasteful foreign policy that simply wasn't there well for more on the reality facing the united states that run up to the poll to watch our new documentary divided america the people's faith is being shown throughout the day can have a quick peek now and you can watch it unfold and
11:30 am
a couple of things. what is wrong with. america that is. why. we have a bombastic wind bag and probably. get it going so i can let you know i did worse because. dollar calculus or not or. i feel like the 2 party system is incredibly detrimental to the balance of our democracy. freedom of all american summer attack regardless of race religion or creed illegal we're at we're at an impossible point people are so divided in their camps that they're more willing to believe insanity about panic reptilian pedophiles with a movie based.
