the most controversial topics in this election on t.v. hosts got into a heated debate on the issue. there's a long history in this country of suppressing the black vote and i don't think that they should be negated by anything there's only a video can all be taken care of my number of pennsylvania working with great actors we all do battle court case with all the really tracking of that we're talking about it right and we're now on history in america of suppressing the black vote. thank you for joining us here on c.n.n. to national i'm nikki arran and we're bringing you all the latest throughout the day and what's so far proving to be a nail biting election as america decides on its future. all eyes are on america as ballot counting is in full swing in the 2020 race for the white house preliminary results indicate a tight race though democrat joe biden spoke just minutes ago insisting he thinks

he'll win. our nurture united we believe are on track to win this election. we knew because of the our pressure down early voting a mail in vote was a good target while we're going to have to be pretty sure. the hard work of talent vultures through knish and then over to your average voters crowded every bonus ground. let me bring you up to speed on how both candidates are doing so far the race is tight as you can say with biden already securing 224 elective and trump having the backing of 213270 that's the magic number that's how many are needed to win the white house they don't comes down to the so-called electoral college each state has a fixed number of electors based on the number of people living there whichever candidate secures the simple majority of votes in each state when the only exceptions are maine and nebraska and nebraska which allocate electors based on

local district. and here's what it looks like so far on a state by state basis 28 states are leaning in favor of trunk 118 are backing biden in several key states and ballot counting is still underway. meantime election protesters clashed outside the white house with pockets of other unrest seen around the country and he found groups that gathered around black lives matter plans in washington d.c. wearing all black large black banners with white letters read removed from the trunk why is all the time just a block away the object of their anger is waiting for the results in the white times we expect him to speak and live single goes to him and bring that to you extra fencing has been installed around the white house amid fears of post-election violence r.t. hosts in washington have been following the events from outside the white house on the capitol. right now behind me you probably have a. lot fewer people than there were the last time we talked to you the reason for

that is probably 5 minutes ago or so there was a lot of hopping going on it sounded like firecrackers being set off. and about half of that crowd took their flags and they began walking down that way right now that we haven't heard any more noise we start to follow but we come back in order. it doesn't look like it was anything but there is this popping out of reoccurring popping that's starting to go on. people for lack of a better term starting to hear a little bit that was. very frustrated. with everything that's going on right now so that's kind of what's happening right now more and more people who are kind of situations devolving a little bit it's not violent it's not been tremendously messy people don't seem to be getting aggressive with each other so we're keeping an eye on what's happening out here though as the night goes on no question about it more and more people are

. frustrated it's not what they thought it was going to be let's put it that way at this time of night at this point in the what is what is transpiring so far is not what they 'd expect last week really you saw a lot of the big chain stores the big corporate conglomerates stores you know they were really quick to put boards up probably coming down from the from headquarters but then you saw them then later you saw a lot of little mom and pop shops and more independent business owners. today around town and definitely in places that you wouldn't normally expect like you kind of expected downtown but even when you got out into some of the like outer ring suburbs and things like that you saw a lot of the gas stations c.v.s. is pharmacies places like that putting boards up one of the things that was interesting is i talked to the election official this week who was you know worked in the polls more and taken people's votes and put in the ballots and they told me that surprisingly. wasn't allowed there was no incidents whatsoever during the

voting process here that they could that they saw or could report on and they also told me that even today as the big day smaller crowds than expected and here tonight in downtown d.c. again apart from more bends one is out of black lives matter plaza in front of the white house the rest of the city very quiet very dark even the police presence here in freedom plaza as really disappeared in the last hour or so not very many squad cars going by with the lights on so things are real quiet on this side of town and there have already been pro and anti trump demonstrations outside the white house the head of the final election results and he has done quite a look at the growing divisions within american society. it was all high hopes and big promises back in 2016 when donald trump took his place in the white house the nation was already divided by race gender class you name it and the country needed a hero now it's time for america to find a division have to get together. republicans and democrats and

independents across this nation i say it is time for us to come together as one united people turned out trump never came to be that knight in shining armor. for. 20 twentieth's presidential election seasons looked more like an all out war on the streets more than anything mishandling of the pandemic response and the economic crisis but most significant was the brutal killing of george floyd that sparked outrage across the nation and even calls to de-fund the police all together. and instead of trying to unite people america's dividing lines became part of both

parties political strategies on the one hand biden and the democrats sold themselves as allies of the so-called peaceful protests which let's be honest were not so peaceful from us in this for instance peacefully protest. not a bad way to dip your toes into the more radical left and black voter pools but on the other hand. trump who decided to play the tough guy calling anti racism protesters vandals and anarchists trump sent federal troops to put down uprisings in cities a move that won support from a number of police unions and people who didn't want to see their white picket fence neighborhoods ruined now the law and order doctrine also embolden some of

trump's more radical supporters so that seeing armed right wing militias and anti forth really walking around the streets of american cities became a new reality and one of both candidates done to fix all this point the finger it is what it is is the raese what's going on and he doesn't want to see a lone order because he can't because you lose his radical live supporters proud of i do is stand back and stand by but i'll tell you what i'll tell you what somebody has got to do something about the and the left because this is not a right there is a direct this is. not what it's about this is the rational left would you she was on both sides of the political spectrum we've got armed groups white nationalists proud boys right wing militias and tea for the whole bunch so what exactly will happen when the election is over well everyone just sit down and decide to accept the results alleged voter suppression is once again highly controversial fame in this election hosts got into

a hated debate with questions over whether certain policies of the electorate were particularly targeted. we didn't see extremely long and crazy lines today thank the lord but we did see a lot of those voter purge as we do know that there are people who were told to build in one place and that polling place did not exist we know that you know in georgia right now in county the largest county in georgia is going to be reporting 4 hours behind what we initially thought was going to happen because there was some type of water leak just in time for the election the ballots to be counted in the most diverse county in the state of georgia there's a lot of hanky going on you know what i got to that we need to balance this out though because you look in pennsylvania today there are video time. time again republican pollsters put republican people wanted to go in a vote in pennsylvania and were denied and turn around it's across the board this is something that both parties charge. and i married i hear you got it but there's a long history in this country of suppressing the black vote and i don't think that that should be negated by anything there's you know you know you think you're

having a governor of pennsylvania we're talking with the doctors we all do better a court case with all due respect to we're talking a boating rights act and history in america of suppressing the black vote and that is not equal it does sound like talk you know i was not agreeing in pennsylvania just so you want to both tennessee girls i happen to remember memphis there is a reason to go through voter rosters when people move i live here in d.c. i live in nashville i voted national i got them attention i got a voting thing here in d.c. in my condo said to my condo ok there is a reason to make sure that our voting rosters are legitimate actually going to voters there is corruption within those it's not a republican or democrat issue it happens on both sides you're voter suppression i agree there's no you know i don't know that. we need to make sure that it led to one person and i do remember to many. different people but i. think let's not that i don't talk about it and i don't you know i think about my language there and look at but i'll tell you

a story i don't know what they need to. have this country there has been work to stop african-americans from voting and trying to equate that to anything that is episodic in pennsylvania it's actually in a front to everything the civil rights leaders and african-americans i'm not going to do that we're there are only a fight right now there is going to be allowed to go that i want to that's that comparison does not make since it is unknown but. why do you want to. know that lamey. let's bring you up to speed now with a state by state look at how america chooses its president 28 states are leaning in favor of trump you can see those in red while in the blue that the 18 others who are backing biden it all of course comes down to the electoral college now each state has a fixed number of electors based on the number of people living there whichever candidate secures a simple majority of votes to any state wins the only exceptions are maine and nebraska which allocate electors based on local district votes and so far the race

is extremely tight as you can see with biden securing 225 electors and trump having the backing of 213270000 how many they needed to win the white house. traditionally some states are seen as republican party strongholds while others are strongly tied to the democratic party but in swing states both parties are thought to have a chance of winning and some areas are seen as bellwethers indicative of which candidate will win the national race or less i guess the more details now from a goshdarn of who joins me in the studio bring us up to speed with the latest please well essentially not much has changed since we talked to you last time but basically the race is as close as it gets it's a nail biter of the election. so for both sides seem to be very optimistic about how they are doing how they are fairing in this race so

we are expecting trump to speak momentarily from the white house so we will be looking out for that and we will go live and listen to the incumbent president of the united states giving his speech earlier he sees this address saying the world he will announce the way he put it a big win to his supporters even though it is still way too early to tell for sure as to who will be the next. who will be the u.s. president for the next 4 years joe biden is in the lead it's not i won't call it a comfortable lead but so far as of now he's managed to secure a few more delegates than donald trump but if we look at all the states as to how the as the counting of the ballots goes if trump wins everything that he is not projected but everything where he is in the lead right now he will become the next president with a comfortable lead over joe biden but again anything can happen in this election

cycle and world for instance joe biden has already flipped arizona you were talking about these predominantly democratic and republican leaning sites well in 2060 in arizona voted for trump of this time and voted for biden all other states so far no changes from the past year and so there is that but as i've mentioned both sides are very optimistic and joe biden seems so desperate and so willing to be trump and everything in this election cycle that he has already beaten him when it comes to making the 1st speech of the night here's something that he had to say just about an hour ago. it's not my place or dollar drugs place to declare who's wrong or selection that's the decision of the american people but i'm optimistic about this outcome we're going to wear this thank you thank you thank you. i kind of think we get going to have similar words from troy stronger i'm

going to move on past definitely something along the lines of we're on track to win this election maybe even korean thing that's more trying style isn't it well indeed well knowing if we learned anything from trump in the past 4 years he will be way more bombastic and he he failed to make the 1st speech of the night so i'm not sure how the donald what the dawn of things about that but he will certainly try to speak his rival when it comes to you know when he gets to that microphone again we're looking out for that and we will go live to donald trump when he starts when he begins his speech because it was after this statement after which is a very interesting one because 1st joe biden says that it's the american people that no candidate should claim victory as of now you know fast forward a few seconds and he goes but we're optimistic that we won the elections but well that's an interesting way to to you know to put 2 things that might seem very contradictory to each other very basically in the same sentence the so indeed now

we're expecting trump to make to make his speech but if we look if we go back to what's happening to what's happening in the states if we look at some of those some of those states that you mentioned the so-called swing states that could be could be viewed as a bellwether sort of indicators as to how the rest of the country feels if we go through the trumpet is in the lead in almost all of them michigan. wisconsin pennsylvania georgia all of these all of these states they have so far trump in the lead and if you if you go in twitter if you go on social media and read. some of the comments made by some die hard fans on both sides well when it comes to the democratic hardliners if i may put it put it this way they are livid in the commons the very very upset and that would be an understatement to say that they're very upset because they did not expect this race to be so close so heavily contested

they just expected a landslide victory for joe biden thinking that well trump has failed in the 4 years that he has shown how bad of a how how how much of a poor how poor of a president he is but obviously even given the results that we already have that hasn't happened we can see how closely how neck and neck both candidates and this is something that really upsets those who hate trump with the with this. and so there is that also one of the another interesting georgia has counted almost all the ballots some projections show that it may have the state may have counted as much as 99 percent of the ballots and the trump is enjoying an almost 3 well a 2 and a half more or less a 2 and a half point lead so this is the amount that means there's no denying it the naacp is increasingly red isn't it but of course you know joe biden is leading in the

electoral votes with 225 donald trumps 2213 but when it comes to these swing states which look like they're going to turn red also that means a big electoral college vote i mean pennsylvania has 20 votes wisconsin televised michigan 16 votes that the big numbers they could really take the and they are big numbers they are big numbers and again if things stay as the if is so right now the light red because the of those states that you've mentioned the like red because the official results aren't in select it's just something it's just just right it basically means right now trump has the lead there but things may change if they don't. on change trump will win this election with a comfortable with a comfortable advantage in the delegates so it won't be won't be too close he will have an advantage of about 20 or so delegates which is well that's solid it's not 2 or 3 or 4 so it's not it's not that high but as of now it is very heavily contested

so also another interesting fact which could indicate that things are going slightly better for trump than joe biden is if we look at the bookies are the people who make money by predicting the outcome of events and you know how for instance if there's a boxing match and you start with a clear favorite and a clear underdog and then the underdog starts to upset the favorite and so the odds which were in favor of one of the one of the boxes they start to change and so basically things flop. to interrupt you there because donald trump is speaking to his supporters so let's cross live and listen to what he has to say. so i think we can already expect more still to know you know i don't know trump is going to strike something similar to what biden had to say when he was telling supporters where on track to win this i like he's here in washington doesn't mince

his words and says what he thinks to get straight to the point you are. in mind the venue the time to send some people's press because this is this is a pure evil white house and clearly he could have picked and he could have picked 10 you place but he surely wanted wants to look presidential as more in authority in the position of power compared to joe biden he is donald trump heading to the microphones let's have the staff was the was was. very much lisa thank you this is without question the latest news conference i have ever had i. thank. you i appreciate it very much and i want to thank the american people for their tremendous support millions and millions of people voted for us tonight and. a

very sad group of people is trying to disenfranchise that group of people and we won't stand for we were at stake for our the if you want to thank the 1st lady my entire family. thought i was just thinking. we were getting ready for a big celebration. we we were winning everything and all of a sudden it was just called off the results tonight have been phenomenal and we are getting ready i mean literally we were just also. set to get outside and just celebrate something that was so beautiful so good such a vote such a success the citizens of this country have come out in record numbers this is a record is never been anything like it to support our incredible movement we won

states that we weren't expected to win florida we didn't win we won it by a lot of the earlier for the on are the great state of ohio. we won texas. earlier we won texas 570-0000 votes and they don't even include it in the tabulations it's also clear that we have one georgia and the rob prize for the 2.5 percent to 117000 votes with only 7 percent left the never going to catch as they can't catch us likewise we've clearly won north carolina the will of the 1.4 percent or were 77000 votes with only approximately 5 percent left the king

catches. we also if you look and you see arizona we have a lot of life in that and somebody said somebody did play or that it was a victory for us and maybe it will be i mean that's possible but certainly there were a lot of votes out there that we could get because we're now just coming into what they call trump territory i don't know what you call it but these were friendly trump voters and that could be overturned the gentleman that called in i watched tonight he said well we think it's fairly unlikely that he could catch will fairly unlikely. and we don't even need it we don't need that that was just a state that if we would have got there would have been nice arizona but there's a possibility maybe even a good possibility in fact since i saw that originally it's been changed in the numbers of substantially come down just in

a small amount of votes so we want that obviously to stay in play but most importantly where winning pennsylvania play a tremendous and it will be a will it were up to 600 think of the earth think of the bankers were up 690000 in pennsylvania 600. of these aren't even close it's not like oh it's less with. 64 percent of the vote in it's going to be almost impossible to catch and we're coming into good pennsylvania areas where they happen to like your president and.

there will probably expand. we're winning michigan i looked at the numbers i saw all i looked i said wow that's a lot by almost 300000 votes and. 65 percent of the vote is in. and we're winning wisconsin and so when we don't need all of them we need because when you add texas which was an added i spoke with the really wonderful governor of texas just a little while ago and greg abbott he said congratulations he called me to congratulate me on winning texas i mean it we won texas i don't think they finished quite the tabulation but there's no way and it was almost complete but he congratulated me and he said by the way what's going on i've never seen anything like this can i tell you what nobody has. so we won 510-7000

votes with 81 percent of the it's michigan so when you take those 3 states in particular and you take all of the others i mean we have we have so many we had such a big night you just take a look at all of these states that we've won tonight and then you take a look at the kind of margins that we want to buy and all of a sudden it's not like we're up 12 votes and we have 60 percent left. we won states and all of a sudden they said what happened to the election it's off and we have all these announcers saying what happened and then they said all because you know what happened they knew they couldn't win so they say let's go to court and then i predict this did i say this i've been saying this from the day i heard they were going to send their tens of millions of pallas i said exactly because either they

were going to win or if they didn't win they'll take us to court so florida was a tremendous victory 370. 6 or 7 percent or higher i. think. a lot higher were tremendous state a big state i love ohio we won by 8 point one percent 400. 50 almost 500000 votes north carolina big victory with north carolina. and. so we won there we lead by $76000.00 votes with almost nothing left. and all of us and everything just stopped. this is a fraud on the american public this is an embarrassment to our country. we were getting ready to win this election frankly we did win this election.

the it word for now is to ensure the integrity. for the good of this nation this is a very big moment this is a major fraud or nation we want a lot to be used in a proper manner so we'll be going to the u.s. supreme court we want to all voting to stop we don't want them to find any ballots set for clock in the morning and add them to the lists of political elites that certainly said the winds are very sad moment to me this is a very sad moment and we will win this and we as far as i'm concerned we already have lost so i just want to thank the randall and i want to thank you all for our support i want to thank all of the people that worked with us and mr
