will not go on forever the challenge is great the response has been so many good people are helping us. it makes us feel very proud that we're in it together. with you today president. and russia signed the declaration announcing the. armenia. and azerbaijan that reach an agreement to cease hostilities over the disputed region. protesters stormed the parliament and government buildings in the armenian capital outraged the deal that they see as

a defeat for their country. this all comes after azerbaijan launches an investigation after admitting to shooting down a russian military helicopter over armenian airspace moscow has since welcomed an apology over the incident which killed 2 of the 3 crew on board. and supporters of president take to the streets across the country demanding vote recounts in battleground states. reversal with the team accusing the democrats of stealing the 2020 vote 4 years after the opposition calls the republican election when. broadcasting live from our studios moscow this is our international i'm sean thomas

certainly glad to have you with us let us start now with breaking news this hour a peace agreement has been reached between armenia russia and azerbaijan to end hostilities of the disputed nagorno-karabakh region russian president vladimir putin announced the ceasefire earlier. he would you do me and your bridge and president obama leave or me as prime minister nico pressure now and russia have signed the declaration announcing the ceasefire and stopping combat nagorno-karabakh conflict zone this is a pivotal moment absolutely and perhaps the most important development in months if not years in this whole conflict between me and breakaway region of nagorno-karabakh in azerbaijan which is essentially a war between the armenia and azerbaijan and armies now there's something that adds extra weight to this truce steal the fact that it was hammered out by the leaders so the mediator was russia's president vladimir putin and also the parties to the
10:03 pm
negotiations were the armenian prime minister nicole paasschen on and the president ilham aliyev now i can tell you that the cease fire agreement is already in place it's taken effect at midnight moscow time and let me just go through some of the key points of that truce deal so according to the dream and the militaries of both armenia and azerbaijan must observe their positions must stay in the positions that they are currently taking now something that is absolutely vital and crucial in this case is the introduction of a russian peacekeeping mission not something that had long been talked about but never been announced officially now is the time there will definitely be a russian peacekeeping mission that is supposed to comprise of almost 2000 russian troops and also $380.00 units of military hardware that announcement came from the russian ministry of defense besides this key transport hubs and junctions must be
10:04 pm
on blog which is supposed to allow free movement of refugees and hopefully a proper exchange of prisoners between the sides i can tell you that last month the previous. the ceasefire was announced after talks between the top diplomats the foreign ministers of russia armenia and azerbaijan but that agreement never properly worked perhaps it was able to lead to a situation in which the worst case scenario was avoided but still it failed to stop the bloodshed and this perhaps explained why talks on a higher level were required i can tell you that a little earlier book who announced that it had taken more territories in the nagorno-karabakh region including the town of sushi which is the 2nd biggest town after the capital of nagorno-karabakh and clave and yes the armenian side as it
10:05 pm
usually happens denied losing control over that part of the breakaway region but then it was apparent it became apparent that because advancements have taken place and this perhaps explains the the mood of president of who said this when he was addressing the nation right after the announcement of the cease fire deal because. i would like to see done very very we have sealed the deal to certainly years long conflict between armenia and azerbaijan the occupation of. the mood though is strikingly different on the other side of the front line i can tell you that in armenia this truce deal drove some people mad and almost instant the protests broke out in the capital which is already a lot to violence i can tell you and hopefully you can see the pictures that the
10:06 pm
protesters stormed government buildings it seems that some armenians see this as a defeat and they are not willing to accept the terms of the deal which led to a situation in which overnight the prime minister nick called gonna have to go. a lot of towards rest the nation and he was saying that he had no other choice given the actual military situation on the frontline and he explained this by saying that his army was up against someone he called terrorists and also the military of a mighty nato country and that he was clearly referring to the support that azerbaijan is getting from turkey now by the way something very important for me to say is that they call posturing out was the 1st official the 1st leader of a country to announce the ceasefire and this is the tone this is the rhetoric that he was using let's just listen to a part of the statement that he 1st made i signed
10:07 pm
a statement with the presidents of russia and as visions and the karabakh was starting at 1 am today to text of the statement is unspeakably painful for me personally and from people who have made this decision as a result of an in-depth analysis of the military situation and assessment of the people who knew it best who is based on the belief that this is the best possible solution to the current situation i will tell you about this all in detail in the coming days this is not a victory but there will be new defeat until you admit that you lost we will never recognize ourselves as the losing side and this should be the beginning of an era of national unity and revival now there's another element to the story that i've not mentioned so far because on monday at about 5 30 pm moscow time a russian military helicopter was shot down over the armenian air space but space but it was very close to the border where i was there by john and potentially as we
10:08 pm
understand this situation could have led to something much more explosive but then almost immediately at about a couple of hours russia got out apology from but who. right johnny military admitted that it was a tragic accident when they shot down the russian military helicopter from a surface to air missile launcher and this is the tension somehow and russia welcomed that apology here's a statement from the russian diplomats we assessed positively the fact that book who immediately admitted its guilt we also know the assurances given to us by the years are be joining site that a prompt investigation of this incident will be carried out and the perpetrators will be punished so again you can just imagine how tense the situation was so it appears this true steel was in the making when that helicopter crash
10:09 pm
happened and obviously again this could have led to much worse scenarios but in that case the sides managed to come to some kind of understanding that it was a mistake and then we realized that they were able to proceed with the cease fire agreement that we're talking about now and again this is a very important development because we've heard none of this before and this is clearly an agreement between the leaders that requires to be observed i mean if this is the time to act and to do something for the leaders what else can stop them it's putin it's a league of and it's posturing on there you have it so i can tell you though that for us it's time to watch out for what's going on in armenia because clearly some layers of the population there are completely not happy with it though meanwhile protesters outraged job the agreement took to the streets of the armenian capital
10:10 pm
yerevan they stormed both the parliament and government building armenia's prime minister vowed those behind the unrest would be prosecuted local journalist joe never. reports from the center of those events. i'm here and in their public square and you're about. this so about an hour and a half ago or 2 hours ago when the statement starts come out on the switch and facebook. people starts to gather it and the government building just behind me was broken into. for just this much to go in so i put out flags and within half an hour i was at aldershot was there was thousands of people. safe they've called for a little bit for the big diff tell me they're looking for bush in yemen. and they're trying to find him. a good place kind of the try to stop with that and just stepped aside and allow the purchase to see the side of the building where they
10:11 pm
kind of pulled apart the buildings might also look smashing glass. some scuffles breaking out a few fights between purchases you're going to see wonderful things and something happening again behind me and this this this kind of scuffles will leave the place between protesters between some place but mostly police stepping back and allowing people to express sat there and i. i. i i. have been called some movement approaches to explain the building and i was just behind the camera was and i. spent what's going on now and it's awful raymond having these kind of filtered out i mean. and. people people you keep you know where they take all the screaming for me and i will admit that. anything

underscores and talk now to me i was like. former us a diplomat jim shared his take on the current situation. in terms of the end of the matter i don't think this solves the overall question going to go on a car and what its status will me in the short term the cease fire holds as the previous ones have not and with the introduction of russian peacekeepers that helps to stabilize the situation yes that that possibly could work but there is still a lot of political wreckage left over that would have to be negotiated for a long term solution to what is the status quo not are about or are soft as the armenians call it and also the other areas surrounding the border color box that connect our media to a normal harbach that i don't think even the armenians are saying they don't consider part of azerbaijan but they've been holding sense here early 1990 s. they probably felt that there was a stronger. that it could have expected stronger support from the russians but you
10:13 pm
know there's a complication here to this remember the mr pushing young was brought to power in one of these color wrote lucian's in 2018 and trying to pursue a policy that was not as moscow centric as previous armenian governments he wanted to reach out more to the west and many people in fact even considered him somewhat anti russian and then when the chips were down he expects the russians to come to armenia as a rescue which the russians really did not the russians i think we're more focused on how do they keep the lid on this how do they limit also outside input was letters from turkey or from nato or from other powers over an area that let's be honest was part of the show union in part of the russian empire before that and they really do not want to see any other spheres of influence extended in that. as mentioned earlier azerbaijan's president announced of the capture of a strategic town in the disputed region sparking celebrations on the streets of baku azerbaijan the defense ministry said the town of shushi had been quote
10:14 pm
liberated from the armenian occupation after more than 28 years telling lies on the main road connecting nagorno-karabakh with armenia here's what the local leadership has been saying. we must now acknowledge that he chain of misfortune has befallen us and the town of she she is completely out of our control and he hopeful or inspiring propaganda will end he said to distance us from reality the start there is a city of shows she is now under the control of the over the azerbaijani army that has been confirmed now by majority side after that they have published a video showing that the as a bridge on the forces is controlling the city of the streets of city of shushi but the above the question now what's next what city will be next is it a step on a kurd or maybe there will be this settling in shoes they will have a break maybe after 4 or 5 days of heavy fighting across the region
10:15 pm
of a corrupt baka here in armenia the people of the spirits they are fill that if they have been left down and they don't know what to do actually and we can notice that in their faces because they have suffered a lot they have given a lot and struggled all these 4 for more than one month. and they sick roofies a lot now the fighting had been settled for a break as we believe but we still receive some information from our sources instapundit go to that that the shelling is still and step on a kurd and the city of moore to need to the no more to any to the north and also on the road that connects now gormley corrupt with armenia it's a matter of time now. the arrival of azerbaijani forces there has sparked
10:16 pm
a mass exodus of civilians and these images from sunday you can see a line of traffic leading out of the main city upon the kurt the disputed region that has been the focus of intense fighting since late september despite 3 attempted cease fires it is legally part of azerbaijan but has a majority armenian population and has been pushing for independence for more than 3 decades the latest flare up in the feud has left hundreds dead. on the u.s. now where there have been more claims of election meddling with donald trump accusing the democrats of mass voter fraud after joe biden was proclaimed president elect. a president trump has yet to concede the election he is vowing legal action claiming that there has been serious fraud. we believe these people are
10:17 pm
thieves the big city machines are corrupt this was a stolen election the best poster in britain wrote this morning that this clearly was a stolen election that it's impossible to imagine that biden out ran a bomb in some of these states where it mattered they stole what they had to steal . clashes have occurred in several states between rival crowds with several arrests having been made this is as trouble supporters stand by the president in questioning the election results.
10:18 pm
saturday media outlets called the race for biden after days of counting the president elect has since promised to help america become a nation healed but like in 2016 that is off to a shaky start with more allegations of meddling party's dan hawkins comments. for many americans the 2020 us presidential election had so much riding on it it was symbolic a long awaited chance for justice to prevail for the country to correct the mistakes of 2016 at least that's how the media and many people saw it where were you in 2070 when we had the worst president we could argue it's unfair to rank trump as a work president ever after just one year but clearly those scholars see in him a great potential worst in most dangerous president in the history of our country are the worst words and he's america's over. thousands of jubilant people celebrating on the streets
10:19 pm
a far cry from the scenes we saw after the last presidential election seemingly the only tears this time with those of joy. it's vindication for a lot of people who have really suffered for years ago when trump won broadcasters showed scenes of people in shock and crying today a biden declaration shows coverage that would make you think jesus had returned all 4 hours might be exaggerating but to some it really looks like a savior of the senate upon america except this is a reality for only half of the country biden's predicted landslide or blue wave didn't happen and no matter how many times he was called the worst president in american history the worst president the country's ever had trump still managed to gain the support of close to half a lecture it and they alongside his campaign team are not giving up without a fight. i. was able
10:20 pm
people over and immediately. with the democratic leadership all trump has so far also refused to concedes making a slew of allegations about the legality and accuracy of the voting process if you count the illegal votes easily when if you count the illegal votes they can try to steal. the election from us and trump's team up behind him ready to do battle in the country's legal system and highest courts to stop what they see as an injustice these are a lawsuit will be brought starting on monday as you know from the very beginning the mail in ballots were a source of some degree of skepticism if not a lot of skepticism as being innately prone to fraud this fraud war between the trump and biding camps won't end anytime soon how do we know this well that simple the last one dragged on for trump's entire term
10:21 pm
a democratically elected president was accused of just about every wrongdoing trump is already acting like a russian try. is actively or was actively colluding with russia hone told mahler's office about more contacts between trump's orbit and its it appears trump himself in russia they didn't believe trump when he denied there was any collusion for example so why should he give his of positives the benefit of the doubt what claims the president made yesterday were simply not supported you know i think what the president needs to do is frankly put his big boy pants on he needs to acknowledge the fact that he lost and he needs to congratulate the winner well it's not for us biden or trump to decide whether any wrongdoing took place during the 2020 lection it looks like math will be down to the supreme court but what we do know is that trump's 4 years in office might have taught him a valuable lesson about how to fight his bottle and so far it looks like they'll be
10:22 pm
little unity along the way we asked our guests whether there's any merit to donald trump's allegations of ballot fraud. there's no doubt of that but that joe biden is the president elect and will take office at noon on the 20th of january next year there are no court cases that have any merit the margins are such that they are not capable of being disputed and also clear joe biden won the election by 5000000 votes the most votes that any candidate has ever gotten the country's polarized but there was an extraordinary turnout in this election largely because of donald trump and because a majority of americans wanted did not want him to continue as president not joe biden got over 50 percent of the vote. the hillary clinton won by 3000000 votes but she didn't get 50 percent there are teams of lawyers in every
10:23 pm
state with question marks on them and their purpose is to put together their part of a case that's going to be presented to the public and to justice as a full case that shows that the election outcome was altered by the fraud that it was that significant now going to give you just one of those mathematical near impossibilities to show you how you can obviously see that things were done that are not right to. vote for hillary clinton was very strong in a lot of democrats capital cities including the ones in the swing states joe biden got fewer votes than hillary clinton in every a major american city except for and those 4 are milwaukee detroit atlanta and philadelphia the 4 cities where much of the obvious chain are you is going on so joe biden got more votes than hillary clinton coincidentally in the 4
10:24 pm
capital cities of the swing states but less all across the rest of the country and still he gets a record number 74000000 popular votes for president. how does this happen when only 4 cities have to make up a disadvantage to your previous gender day in the previous election it's just mathematically nearly impossible i think there's a lot of circumstantial evidence a lot of self evident impossibilities like that and you have to assemble them all into a single detail jason i think that's what president trump's team of lawyers is doing right now europe has been taking a keen interest in the u.s. election with joe biden set for the white house brussels has expressed hope bilateral ties will get a boost though some in the e.u. are skeptical things will actually improve to show dubinsky picks up the story for any e.u. leaders was signaling their congratulations a sense of relief i think in europe that biden is the president elect there was
10:25 pm
a lot welcome particularly over the fact that biden has said he would bring the u.s. back into the paris climate ikari woman fold but there was also this carefully wooded suggestion about the challenges that are faced in the future and cooperation all those challenges together one of the big issues that european leaders are going to be thinking about is nato trump was seen as being divisive not particularly supportive of the alliance whereas joe biden's seen as somebody who is a big supporter of nato and may look to reinforce the alliance but there are some aspects of that that he won't be changing from the trumpet administration clued in perhaps the 2 percent of the g.d.p. that trump demanded that other nato members pay their fair share that's likely to remain the status quo and those the suggestion that joe biden would not be making a u. turn on other important decisions. joe biden isn't going to change washington's approach
10:26 pm
to international issues overnight because he can't it's a mistake to believe that everything changes europe must above all count on itself nothing will be easy there are also many issues where i don't think anything is going to change there. there's also the issue of trade this is been a massive problem with all these tariffs that trump has been imposing on e.u. products over the last 3 years now joe biden comes into the presidency with a u.s. trade deficit of $170000000000.00 u.s. dollars with the e.u. so trade is something that is going to be continuously a difficult issue there's also talks coming up over the digital tax on tech giants which of course friction over the past year or so and there is this continuing dispute over subsidies for airbus and boeing so that is unlikely to resolve itself very soon now the e.u. has also been pushing ahead with this agenda of more sovereignty in defense in
10:27 pm
trade trying to perhaps sort of rally itself up against the u.s. and that is also unlikely to change when it up this marks a new chapter in european history where europe is independent where we can be proud of our european culture and identity we'll be able to stand up against china against the united states against the disorder we are currently witnessing european strategical told them is goal number one for generation we're sending a message not only door citizens but also to the rest of the world europe is the world power and then of course there's the issue of bragg's it those negotiations not going to well between the u.k. and the e.u. but the e.u. is hoping that a biden presidency will not give special treatment to the u.k. particularly if there is no deal breaks it so lots of issues that europe is waiting to find out about but the reality is joe biden has so much on his plate
10:28 pm
domestically trying to create the harmony within the u.s. and let's not forget that trump gained more than 70000000 votes trump is and is alive and kicking and joe biden is going to have to do an awful lot to reach out to those voters. former austrian foreign minister. believes ties with europe won't be a major priority for but personally i don't see 2 european union issues being top chanda we might believe that we are so important that washing wakes up in the morning and now charisse 1st and foremost about how to repair the alliance how to get back to better relations with the various e.u. member states no i think their 1st and foremost foreign policy a chanda with the need to people's republic of china and how to handle all the open issues with them but personally i would share the position by the former president
10:29 pm
of to you being commissioner. nothing is going to change because although he content a lot and there are certain constant. factors that continue one of them is to trade deficits and the other one is to treat this and of course the burden sharing within the alliance. a quick reminder now of our breaking news an agreement has been reached between armenia russia and azerbaijan to cease hostilities over the disputed not gotten a car back region was about john's president called 'd the agreement historic and said it brings to an end of the long term conflict the armenian pm though said that he had no choice but to sign the document so it comes hours after azerbaijan said it was launching a probe into the downing of a russian military helicopter over armenian air space 2 of the 3 crew members on board were killed as a bridge on has apologized for the incident to move welcomed by moscow of course
10:30 pm
