you have to see. if you will be. a total catastrophe that's how donald trump has branded the u.s. election in a lengthy video speech pleading with the u.s. supreme court to overturn the results. russian president vladimir putin gives an order for nationwide vaccination against covert 19 with the sputnik jab starting next week. french grapples with a crisis of the public trust in the police force and anger over brutality cases as the ruling party is forced to withdraw a bill criminalizing the filming of officers. broadcasting live direct from our studios in moscow this is our to international
9:01 pm
i'm john thomas certainly glad to have you with us. right now he has tried an army of lawyers and every social media tool at his disposal now donald trump's pleading with the u.s. supreme court to step in and overturn the presidential election results the white house has released a lengthy video address in which trump again claims widespread fraud and a stolen election. this may be the most important speech i've ever made i want to provide an update on our own going efforts to expose the tremendous voter fraud and irregularities which took place during the ridiculously long nov 3rd elections if we're right about the fraud. joe biden can't be president it was a long awaited speech by donald trump supporters donald trump himself said it was the most important speech ever in a 46 minute address donald trump repeated his longstanding allegations of fraud and
9:02 pm
argued that essentially the u.s. presidential election was not valid that there were millions of illegal votes cast he called for the u.s. supreme court to step in and overturn the election results in several key states it is a travesty that in the year 2020 we do not have any means of verifying the eligibility of those who cast ballots and an election and such an important election it is or determining who they are whether they live in the state or whether they are even american citizens. we have no idea donald trump repeated the allegation that there were irregularities and anomalies when it came to dominion voting systems this is a voting machine company he also raised the allegation that people who died were registered to vote and people voted in their places furthermore he accused democrat run cities of having widespread corruption and said the democrat run cities
9:03 pm
throughout the country were involved in if arius activities to change the election results donald trump did say he was prepared to accept any accurate results but that he would continue fighting these election results he did call for the supreme court to get involved it's important to note that these remarks from donald trump come after his attorney general william barr has kind of undercut some of what the trump legal team has said when it comes to the election and allegations of fraud this is what we heard from william barr we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election the u.s. attorney general said that there is one claim of systemic fraud and that regards voting machines there's an allegation that somehow voting machines that were systemically changed results were changed when it came to voting and according to william barr the u.s. department of justice has looked into that has looked into that along with the u.s. department of homeland security and they cannot substantiate these claims from
9:04 pm
donald trump now at this point there are a series of court cases that have been launched by trump and his campaign regarding the issue of alleged illegal voting practices voter fraud in a number of states those legal challenges have largely been unsuccessful at this point it has been 4 weeks since most of mainstream us media declared joe biden to be the president elect however despite an almost universal consensus donald trump says he intends to keep fighting i just keep on going forward because i'm representing 74000000 people. and in fact i'm also representing all of the people that didn't vote for me the mail in voting scam is the latest part of their 4 year effort to overturn the results of the 2016 election and it's been like living in hell. for more on this let's now bring in jennifer de master anti terror
9:05 pm
expert and legal analyst and someone jennifer i have to say when this all started to unfold you were the person who i wanted to have a conversation with this about this with and i get to say i'm happy about that. attorney general bar he is a trump ally you can't say that he's against trump on any level they're pretty much that is the eaves but he denies any significant election violations do you think that there are any chances for trump to get the results that he craves. you know it's hard to say at this point there are so many moving pieces i think all of us are walking around with our head spinning constantly because again there are so many moving pieces again remember for weeks we all thought that sidney powell the famed attorney for general michael flynn was with was working with the trump team and then suddenly it came out that she had nothing to do with the trump campaign she wasn't working with trump's lawyers she hasn't been hired by trump and so we've got multiple different legal avenues or legal measures going on here and and that's
9:06 pm
why i think that's where i think especially statements from the attorney general from the department of justice are are still confusing some people because again you have people like sidney powell at lynnwood you have people that say that they are filing lawsuits on behalf of we the people on behalf of the american public on behalf of american citizens and voters and they are filing these lawsuits and they've seen outlines of evidence i mean for example one of the lawsuits that city hall has filed in michigan again not affiliated with trump is has exhibits that people have stated have redacted names of current military officers military intelligence officers or analysts that have evidence that have information about some of these voting machines now that the questions then remain you would think that our military would be in close contact to the department of justice but that's simply not how it's working in the united states that's not how it has worked and so is there this is or this wall there is there this curtain there where there's
9:07 pm
some sort of where there are military intelligence apparatus is working now i guess with civilian lawyers on lawsuits is the department of justice not involved with that had they not been privy to that and so again like you said there's so many moving pieces i can't say conclusively whether whether trump is going to be right or wrong he seems to be very confident in this but again and we don't even know what he has seen me assume as the current president regardless of what what people might state as the president elect that he would know. every different avenue and had seen all the evidence has been privy to that but again we don't know he has a tipped his hand so i will say this while i don't know what might happen i would say that the department of justice is not the only avenue at this point to to overt i guess to having a different election outcome or to filling what the president has said i think there's a lot of different avenues we still have cases that have that might go before the
9:08 pm
supreme court cases in different federal circuit or it's so there's a lot to see but again we're all sitting here with our heads spinning because we do not know which avenues the next the next teams are going to take one thing for people who don't really know the u.s. system there are 50 states which means 50 different elections and actually each different county has countless different elections across the country but in key states the results have already been certified and trump's legal team really cannot do much about that what is trump's end game there. and that again is about i think most most people especially as an attorney and there are a lot of legal analysts that have sort of i planned on this what is their strategy what is their goal and in my opinion especially listening to some of these state legislative hearings because like you said this involves a lot of localities specifically michigan wisconsin not georgia arizona of pennsylvania and it's involving some of these key states these key swing states are
9:09 pm
these these key areas there are jurisdiction's that that seem to be more questionable than others and now we're having to you saw the trump legal team go from filing suits which they've still continued to do but now really focusing on these state legislative hearings which again are going back really fairly speaking going viral on social media and going viral with the public and nobody and ever would listen to a state legislature here and even in their own state most of us don't really give it much attention but now you've got the entire world watching you at the country watching and you have witnesses coming forward many of these witnesses in these state legislative hearings are are either democrats or weren't trumps of course some are but they have a lot of and from a shouldn't be so these are eyewitness accounts and so what i would say is i think one strategy the trump legal team is is public optics is public awareness because they said very clearly that the media the mainstream media in the u.s. is not going to be reporting on this they're not going to be talking about this
9:10 pm
they're going to try to silence some of these witnesses are whistleblowers that have come forward i think one of their goals is is to really and power the state legislature so not just public optics and awareness but also providing a constitutional lessons really to state legislatures to say even if the state or the secretary of state of the governor certifies election results you as a state legislature of the state legislature that's the state senators and representatives at the state level they can they can overturn those sort of occasions they can they can appoint electors orals or in lectures that are. not in line with if they think that there has been widespread fraud in this in the state if they think that there has been enough evidence of that so that's what i think the trump legal team is now focusing on is helping to either end our educate or hold these hearings to tell the state legislatures under the constitution you don't have to if you're to what has been certified you can look at the evidence yourself and electors as you see fit jennifer real talk here the president has
9:11 pm
some financial troubles coming in the next couple years there's a lot of speculation on the federal level and definitely on a state level in new york he's got some legal troubles as well. could this just be an attempt desperate attempt for him to try and stay in power so that he doesn't have to face those challenges it looks like he's actually trying to appeal to all of his bases now. you know it's a good point to make i think in most normal situations i would probably agree with you but i probably agree with that with that premise but i think here donald trump is somebody who's had a lot of time in court i mean when you have somebody like him who's had lots of businesses just gone through some bankruptcies a lot of successes real estate endeavors everything the man has been in court really his entire life and specifically when he when he came to the white house that didn't end they come after the even stronger personally professionally as finances taxes all of this and again we haven't really seen much there that it's
9:12 pm
too much to be concerned about so even if there are still pending cases or financial issues or other court cases going on donald trump is not surprised by any of this he's not is not immune obviously to any of this but he hasn't is much scrutiny is not and i think it's safe to say were are those of your feelings for the president there has been more scrutiny on him than anybody else in the last several years and and still he hasn't come out with an a criminal charges nothing has happened charges have been dropped just mr overlook and so i don't think he's too concerned about what's going on in new york and. i really don't think this is an attempt to skirt what's happening new york to skirt any legal battles i think this is truly something that he feels very strongly about because i think we're got a list of what happens if donald trump does not want a 2nd term if he goes back nothing's going to happen any or because if it didn't happen under the moeller investigation against donald trump which had every resource available to find anything they couldn't transpose it's and remember
9:13 pm
miller was able to see all of his financial information is and still no charges against the president i don't think it's going to happen in the new york courts as well jennifer to master i wish you and i could spend an entire hour or 2 hours entire special talking about layoffs if you i know that we are going to be looking at this least until the 20th of january thanks for being with us anti terror expert and legal analyst. but have you. and if you. are moving on now the russian president vladimir putin has ordered of the government to start a nationwide vaccination against covert 19 next week jacqueline vogel got the latest on this development from correspondent dan hawkins. the russian president made clear the 1st people to receive the job starting as early as next week would be those who are most vulnerable and who work with the most vulnerable so of course medical professionals and teachers among other key workers that would then be made available to the wider public and it's coming out very much over the next few days
9:14 pm
. we have already produced these 2000000 doses of the 1st ranges to vaccine against coronavirus speed v this will allow us to start widespread vaccination specifically among 2 risk groups doctors and teachers i would like to ask you to start vaccination at the end of next week. this was an arts than a video press conference with the deputy prime minister 30 on a go to cover who also made clear that this job would be voluntary that was to allay the fears of those who thought the job would be made compulsory it would be forced on everyone and anyone it will be voluntary and of course it will be free for those that wish to. get themselves against covered 90 now there's been quite a lot of criticism around this but i think the vaccine sense it's been registered for months now tell us more about that what it was primarily criticized for being rushed through without proper due diligence without proper testing of its safety and efficacy but it was published of course back in september in the long answer to
9:15 pm
well established and reputable medical journal it was peer reviewed and its efficacy was claimed to be 95 percent or even above 95 percent which is also comparable to other vaccine candidates across the world so it has been peer reviewed and has been looked at by the regulator and this is why it's now being made available for the entire world is awaiting for one of those jobs that which countries have so far applied to use the russian made a vaccine will the appearance of any covert action on the market is of course good news but what we have learnt over the last few weeks is that no one country no one company can provide enough vaccines to go around. no one has the capacity to prepare hundreds of millions or even billions of vaccines and even if they could not all countries would be able to afford the sort of vaccine prices we've seen from pfizer. this sport make the vaccine is going to cost around $20.00 for for both those as for the total treatment that of course is more expensive than
9:16 pm
some competitors like a swedish astra zeneca but much less than others like pfizer and this is why it's attractive international attention nevertheless now that mass rollout is happening over the next weeks and months i suppose the government's going to see what sort of demand there is and then base their export models off those that this that saw the way this is of course good news for for the for russia for the world which is in the middle of a 2nd wave with fear of a 3rd wave already looking looking likely in the distance any mass rollout of a vaccine is of course good news in the fight against cohen a virus that announcement from russia came on the same day that britain gave the green light to another coronavirus vaccine the health secretary announced today that the drug developed by pfizer and biotech will be rolled out next week hope is on its way. all through is the fires of bio and tick vaccine for coded 19 the n.h.s. stands ready to start vaccinating early next week the u.k.
9:17 pm
is the 1st country in the world to have a clinically approved vaccine for supply the 1st 800000 doses of that vaccine are already on their way to the u.k. residents and staff at care homes for the elderly are being given 1st priority followed by people over the age of 80 and health care workers we asked people in london whether they will be willing to take the job. i think that it's exciting because i think bad i know a lot of people are happy with their lives on hold and businesses have been put on hold because there is a vaccine personally i would not want to take it because i think things are happening too quickly my wife's a doctor she she read the paper by the. budget i just don't believe it i think much going on there's so much that we don't know about and that hasn't been enough to hasn't been enough charles has been the time to be for find out these vaccines safe i don't think they will be safe for people and i think this i think the higher obviously sort of follow the news as it goes along and everything like that i would be sort of very low on the list i would imagine. but i would absolutely get it.

police brutality is in the spotlight in france after the ruling party was forced to withdraw a bill severely restricting the filming of law enforcement officers the government has promised a total rewrite of the legislation which it had earlier claimed was vital to protect the force but critics say drastic changes needed to restore public trust. reports. it's the burning issue in france right now how to improve protection for the police while also safeguarding the public from police brutality.
9:19 pm
amid a wave of anger with the plans to criminalize the publication of images of police if there was intent to harm the government has backed down the ruling party and that the much profiled article $24.00 would be entirely rewritten hours later the interior minister outlined his plans for reform sickie a mike what is my deep conviction in the government things is that we absolutely have to keep the protection of police forces during their police actions so i repeat they are not protected enough addictions with more training more leaders and more police and the generalized use of police body cameras these would he said tackle the root cause of the problem meanwhile the french police chief admitted that there are some issues but he defended the owner of his offices the police the police are not violent and are not racist saying this i'm not in denial and i'm not
9:20 pm
waffling i tell you what i see and what i hear every day i see the eyes of police officers or a fraction of the good side of our society but for many woods are not enough accusations of police violence of tarnish the name of the force these will brought into sharp focus over the past week as she. examples emerged. tried to call my lawyer and try to calm people in even a neighborhood my screams and he wanted to call the police but it was the police.

then as protests turned over the weekend did emerge that one journalist was caught in the fray injured by a police baton as he attempted to cover the demonstrations. an award winning photographer was clearly identifiable as a journalist was shocked by the injuries suffered by a colleague how the condemned the unprovoked violence the injuries were sustained as he exercised his legal rights as a photojournalist documenting protests on the streets of paris and now questions have been raised about the police role in the death of an 80 year old in musée back during the yellow vests rallies. zainab was hit by tear gas canister in 20000 while in her apartment originally an expert report submitted as part of the investigation concluded that the officer that fired

the grenade had done so properly and she'd been hit accidentally that's now being questioned following an independent investigation it claims the officer launched the corner to an angle and too close to her building and it was there for an illegal shot a lawyer for the victim's family is so. that it was a deliberate act we believe the police officer fired tear gas grenade because he thought that mrs ray the one who was on the phone using its loudspeaker was filming the police violence that took place outside her house rewriting also called 24 is unlikely to be the end of the story the recalls the entire global security bill to be scrapped passions are high not just press freedom and the ability of citizens to film police offices but also the deep rooted problem of police violence issues that

simply cannot be whitewashed so what do you can ski r.t. paris. with a less than a month to go to christmas eve states are responding to mass anti-lock down outrage by easing restrictions but leaders fear the festive gatherings could spark a fresh wave of covert outbreaks as our europe correspondent peter oliver explains . european leaders are facing a balancing act between keeping covert restrictions in place to stop the spread of the virus and allowing families to be together over the festive period this also the need to try in the peace some of those that have been out on the streets of european cities angry and fed up with the current restrictions.
9:24 pm
the problem is ease restrictions for christmas and new year you may well get a spike in the virus in january here in germany chancellor angela merkel has reluctantly agreed to ease restrictions on the number of people that are allowed to gather together that's been raised to 10 not including children in that number between the 23rd of december and the 1st of january but she has said that there is a personal responsibility on people to try and keep covert safe that people in winter are worst equipped against the virus and then in the sound that because we spend much more time inside close spaces the situation the const more difficult we just have to get through this winter months and we hope people get vaccinated in the czech republic they've got a bit further than germany and they'll be opening some shops that have being closed albeit with extra carona measures in place when it comes to religious services
9:25 pm
there's also a split across europe in italy and in ireland there will be socially distanced masses taking place while in germany and iceland they're going for they will auction we recorded shoot services that we broadcast online and they've also created virtual confirmation classes most to move try to. do something outside the church on christmas eve such as a coup or a performance or a short service the e.u. might get a glimpse of tension what could be coming down the pike by looking at cross the atlantic to the united states last week's thanksgiving celebration so people travel across the country and get together with families who are looking to see if that produces an uptick in the number of corona infections but while restrictions that have been in place across europe of seeing numbers either drop off or level out here the question is is it justified to ease these restrictions for
