as new code red case is registered drew may know around the 50000 mark only a daily basis in for the government appears to be struggling with how to make a dent in a virus that said to have already claimed tens of thousands of law apes. this virus like all viruses in general is constantly mutating all of its varieties both the one that was identified in the u.k. in the one that was noted in south africa could also go through the path of mutation as a result the virus becomes more infectious meaning it spreads faster not more powerful but more contagious this may well happen in france in the case of those who have not traveled either to the u.k. or south africa do not know anyone who would associate themselves with these so-called patients 0 so in the end the mutated virus is more or less infectious wish justifies the control measures the restrictions the masks and all the precautions in general during forced. and he's run down for an hour but the
4:31 pm
programs are only starting to find out what's on offer where you are today the shortest the. welcome redacted a night this is a show where americans in america covering american news are called foreign agents so. well. 6 just another all wrong we here in america just another coup attempt at the capitol building we've got 4 people killed and resulted in a shirtless man with horns presiding over the senate. is this how you start.
4:32 pm
because if i'm honest with myself i did have a fever dream on his inauguration day that looked a lot like that but then again could that guy possibly be worse than mitch mcconnell i find that hard to believe anyway we'll get more we'll get to more discussion of the whole insurrection slash terrorist attack slash white supremacist amusement park at the capitol in the 2nd half of the show but let's begin with a different yet equally crucial story. i just want to start off by saying thank the lorentz 7 for america's horrific disgusting crime against humanity prison system i ask let's hear it for one of the words prison systems in the world are their overcrowded drag kone and have no concern for the humanity of the prisoners there are often poorly funded board acclaimed poorly managed and
4:33 pm
there's not even the beginning of a thought about allowing prisoners to be educated to they can reenter society as a useful and successful community member also there's tons of disease and violence . where we're at being the worst we've. why am i cheering our terrible prison system because this week a british judge ruled that u.s. u.k. political prisoner and publisher julian the songs would not be extradited to the united states because judge barrett's are found the u.s. prison system is so terrible that a song would likely kill himself yeah. we're redactors a night along with many of you have been fighting for a songes freedom for years now he spent 7 years trapped in the ecuadorian embassy and now almost 2 years in belmarsh prison in london for the crime of journalism for
4:34 pm
the crime of revealing to all of us just how disgusting or a government is for the crime of revealing a war crimes for the. over revealing breathtaking corruption of the ruling elite for the crime of doing the job our mainstream media should be doing if they have even a shred of a tiny pubic hair of dignity and independence chuck todd randerson cooper sean hannity have done less journalism in their entire careers that julian assad did it with your legs before breakfast on an average day so while it's good news that assad will not be extradited we also found out wednesday he would not be freed either 2 days after the judge admitted he's on the cusp of taking his own life the same judge ruled that he should be sent back to belmarsh prison it's.
4:35 pm
truly an evil decision she said he could not be released on bail during the lengthy appeals process despite the fact that authorities could put him on house arrest with an ankle bracelet prohibiting his movements the judge still insisted he might add scott on he might run away have you see them recently he can barely walk he's not exactly jason bourne. he's not going to pull some kind of mission impossible with an ankle bracelet an armed guard running after him so here we are with the results of julian assange on his trial fitting squarely into the pages of catch 22 he can't be shipped to the us because he's clearly is depressed and has tried to end his life so we'll send him back to the prison that it made him depressed and made him dry to end his life that's the ethical thing to do and within the judge's decision to deny extradition she went
4:36 pm
ahead and agreed with nearly every single argument the u.s. government put forward basically agreeing that journalism can be a crime and that the us can prosecute publishers and journalists anywhere in the world even if they have never worked in the united states i mean if that's the case i think we should immediately go after ricky gervais's all right by creating the office which was a documentary series he was revealing the internal secrets of american corporate culture unveiling the horror show that it truly is lock him up the judge also went. and went ahead and threw out the argument that astonishes prosecution was politically motivated even though we now know of plans discussed by the u.s. to either kidnap him or poison him here's how she responded to that. the defense
4:37 pm
alleges that the us authorities discussed more extreme measures such as kidnapping or poisoning mr assad and i have declined to make findings of fact regarding whether this took place as the allegations are currently being investigated in spain i merely note here that if the allegations are true they demonstrate a high level of concern by the u.s. authorities regarding mr songes ongoing activities. level of concern of yes trying to refer him shows they care about him just like o.j. simpson really cared about ron goldman however let's take a moment to celebrate this partial victory julian assange for now is still not in the clutches of the u.s. injustice system and that victory only came about thanks to the tireless efforts of
4:38 pm
so many people people like those at action for a songe people like suzy dawson kevin just stole a crag mari george galloway too many others to list outlets like consortium news popular resistance the gray zone and so many others and even celebrities like roger waters and my a and pamela anderson willing to hurt their own careers by demanding freedom for a songe and of course all of you out there the public pressure has had a real impact i know julian would thank you if you could and now the fight continues. company from washington d.c. the belly the beast is redacted tonight.
4:39 pm
welcome on lead cam della take the news from behind can i can i just say it makes it a little hard to make a weekly political comedy show when totally insane to put those stories come out on monday and then by wednesday. even crazier to the point that monday is then a distant memory and then by friday people act like any reference to monday or wednesday it is a reference to early mesopotamia you see i have put together a lovely lovely lovely little little segment about trump's phone call to the attorney general in georgia in which he blatantly requests election fraud like he thinks it's a chicken by heat from cordoba apparently election fraud has drive through windows
4:40 pm
now but between the time i prepared that segment and today a puncher's easy job mother with confederate flag took over the capitol and now my segment seems like it's about as topical is revealing britney spears hit me baby one more time but here is the overall point. about trump's criminality almost all of our part to politicians partake in some level of criminal behavior at the very least getting funded by weapons contractors and then voting to continue bombing children to help those weapon contractors but trumps criminality is in your face like just boozing down your face it's like the difference between the way goldman sachs robs this country every single day quietly quietly sucking the life blood from each and every one of us versus the way
4:41 pm
a mustache goad con man yanks lollipops away from toddlers trump has been that guy his whole life but for 4 years he's had the power of the presidency when he's gone we can finally go back to being robbed slowly while we sleep until you find yourself offering a student loan or plasma man delorean commemorative super big gold cup in exchange for one percentage point on the interest and that kind of. wasn't nearly as entertaining as what's been going on anyway moving on while most people are currently struggling across our grand country from sea to shining sea way so i that song was written before plastics and regular oil spills so from sea to murky sea would be better although i guess some of it is shining because the oil is floating on the top there so maybe
4:42 pm
a murky shining soup type thing but that doesn't have the same ring to it doesn't. anyway i don't have to tell you that across this whole country just about everyone is suffering even if you aren't a wondering where your next meal might come from you're at the least suffering because you're bored we're bored we're all bored without going out to bars were all bacon far fewer drunken mistakes and let's face it trunk of mistakes were what made life worth living i mean i don't know about you but i'm not saying we're drinking last all know we are not ordering more but usually at home and the only person around is my cat and i don't generally you know bump into her then apologize then started joking about something and then realize she's kind of enemy then stumble on the her place and you don't jump in mistakes i have to spell it out for you you get it anyway one out of every 3 people in america have had trouble paying bills or buying food in the past few weeks and yet what is congress
4:43 pm
united on right now what did they come together for recently just a few days ago in a bi partisan orgy of a sticky fashion they came together to override drums veto in order to pass the defense bill and the defense 'd bill is a euphemism for $740000000000.00 of death machinery and let's look at one report as to where all that money goes the marines are now sending silencers to all the troops around the world thank the lord that was that that was the real problem with our industrial complex of organized human murder it was a little noisy so really easy last time although it's really just makes so much racket a racket. i mean along with the noise in this i also i've also been thinking about
4:44 pm
our nuclear bombs could look more fashionable or not that actionable enough can we get like a snazzy or paint job on them maybe a aquamarine or a ziggy stardust maybe maybe to something that something that really says we're here to shine or how about we paint a unicorn on each one so that at least the people about to be hit by a bomb will will will have the last thought europe or into real that would be nice for them so remember that the next time you're wondering who exactly makes up our government what our government is made of it is people who are more concerned about our killing machines than they are concerned about your well being because they are owned by weapons contractors by corporate america speaking of corporate america prop 22 which recently passed in california thanks to corporate cash is already
4:45 pm
destroying workers' lives just as it was intended to do california stores vons and pavilions have already announced they will fire essential workers and replace their drivers with independent contractors meaning at base to give workers who have no protections but bought by hoover and lives told us that prob 20 do would help or hurt us they told us it would be a golden age of slaving away at jobs we hate they would never lie to us they would never lie just like when they tell us our driver will be there in 3 minutes and then 3 minutes go by and they tell us they meant 3 minutes more and then 3 minutes more go by and they tell us they meant 5 minutes and then 5 minutes go by the little car animation looks like the car is inside a building somehow and then the driver cancels and you get charged a cancellation fee honesty is their top priority just by taking their money and
4:46 pm
exploiting their workers but but honesty is still still pretty high on the list. however there may be an answer to anti worker legislation like prop 22 new york city's 1st worker own cooperative ride sharing app is getting ready to be unveiled a lift have so successfully destroyed the taxi industry while not paying their own workers enough that several taxi drivers have killed themselves in new york city now if you're like me it doesn't come naturally to stand up for new york cab drivers most rides i got when i lived there were like semi voluntary hostage situations you get in the car they drive you around in circles until you pay them $50.00 to regain your freedom but that being said the new drivers cooperative is a ride sharing app that would get rid of over the most exploitative aspects of driving for hoover or lift and it would funnel profits back to the drivers rather
4:47 pm
than further enriching billionaires plus as with all cooperatives when the workers make the business decisions they do things that are good for the workers yet see they don't vote to cut their own pay or get rid of their own benefits but most american companies are not work or own they are totalitarian structures in which a sociopath with some sort of surgical hair implant tells everyone else what to do and find more ways to people than the kama sutra so if you're in new york city look into the driver co-operative app which should be coming out in the next several months we've go to a quick break but if you missed yesterday's redacted v.i.p. i talked with professor marc skidmore the man who discovered the 21 trillion dollars of unaccounted transactions at the pentagon you got to check it out and get it at portable dot t.v.
4:48 pm
all right i'm going to be right back with more info on that insurrection. join me every thursday on the alex salmond show and i'll be speaking to guest of the world of politics sports business i'm show business i'll see you then. pain has changed many american lives and pharmaceutical companies have a miraculous solution. based drugs the people who are chronic pain and believe that their opiate prescription is working for them and the remedy be certain to do no price at the. grocery dependency and addiction to opiates is the long term use that really isn't scientifically justified and our study actually suggested that the long term effects may not just be absence of benefit but actually that they may be
4:49 pm
causing long term harm. welcome back i'm still lee camp so considering all the breaking news the ever changing situation we've decided to do something different today i'm going to spend the entire 2nd half of the show breaking down what we've seen this week what is being called an insurrection an attempted terrorist attack at the capitol so i am joined by redacted correspondent natalie mcgill thank you for being there and thanks for having me so fun times. very very very don't we. i but let's start off with. what the with the police presence because i saw it with those those i'm pretty sure i saw roughly 12 police officers know honestly i thought i was watching a movie like i saw the people scaling the wall and it just felt like an episode of
4:50 pm
like american nationalist warrior like people who i never thought would do park or very good american and it was definitely a different but it was the zombies are going to go the wall yeah it didn't remind me of a zombie invasion or lay alien bugs or something like that but but i think what i'm obviously hung up on as you know you had hundreds of people who were arrested this summer you know during that 1st wave of protests that happened after george splits that he had peaceful protesters that were being cattle in the neighborhoods by metropolitan police department the park police tear gassing people before it trumps bible photo op was holding bible upside down and that happened before the curfew yeah you look at just the amount of police presence to clear a path for him to hold up a dumb bible he's never read never never a church that wasn't open it was closed for the pandemic and it's like they were yes it was tear gas rubber bullets and i know people had their bones broken by riot
4:51 pm
cops in the in that protest. they were they had at one point they had military helicopters like low flying over. people just like their capital want to like it was his leg that close in like i know like people or if i couldn't hear anything or anything because of like all the dust being kicked up and but then we go to wednesday where people storm the u.s. capitol and by like 7 pm wednesday night i think only maybe a dozen people had been arrested maybe by like midnight it was cracking like 15 like 52 yeah yeah you know a few dozen were arrested there's videos of cops chatting with people wall people are standing on their police vehicles like like just standing on top of the embers iran and inside i read it i've been in so many protests where if you were to touch a police vehicle they would tackle you they would beat you in the face and call your mother things like we're it's not pleasant most of these protests and i think
4:52 pm
we actually have a short clip of them opening the barricades for protesters. 6 police are squabbling with protesters there you know. they're just reach the capital but yeah they're just like letting them in and i don't know if that was because they realized hey we've got 5 cops and there's 90000 people whatever 10000 people so we're just going to let him through because we can't hold them or if it was why these people seem nice i mean i've heard them maybe because of colvin like that might have been why there were fewer capitol police officers but there was good for all there was no longer the whole time like there is no specially in this city there's no excuse for having more police there like we are over police in d.c. we are at least we have capitol police we have metropolitan police there should have been layers upon layers upon layers of people before you even got that close
4:53 pm
right and i'm and i'm thing is i'm very opposed to over policing i'm very. i've said many times my belief is that we need to roughly 90 percent fewer police because most of what police do is walk around neighborhoods just harass people and destroy people's lives however in the case of protecting our our so-called government from a mob that's the one that's one of the few times you should have some sort of presence yeah one of things i heard on the radio today is that like some of the agencies were saying local we didn't know that they were going to be this violent or we didn't know that they were going to cause a structure and when were you paying attention the mission again like that was their task like don't tell me that there aren't f.b.i. agents that are roaming parlor or anything like that where they said they were going to kidnap to go to kidnap and yeah yeah exactly and i'm like you didn't think you didn't think that was training for what was going to happen and right here and
4:54 pm
compare their claims that they had no idea this is going to happen even it was posted all over social media with the fact that they are constantly surveilling arab americans and 90 some percent of the time when they arrest a terrorist in america it is a terrorist that they have either entrapped or furthered they're caught like the person was talking to an f.b.i. informant and the f.b.i. informant talked to them into planning a terrorist act it was like how do you give a drug of that yet actual terrorist leaving pipe bombs at the capitol no no. i don't know presidents around that but i think the thing that's not being said you know i mean through media is asking these some of these questions but the thing that seems to not really be said is that it has to do with what type of of angry mobs or terrorist you're dealing with if they are right wing white supremacist. groups they are largely left to their own devices yeah i mean i think it bears
4:55 pm
repeating like some people are finally making this point is that if this is been a group of black or brown people so many more people would have died it would have been like a massacre in. yeah yeah yeah yeah i mean i don't i don't like that that woman was shot and killed by the other 3 people they say died like medical medical. but yeah if this were a black group or people of color or probably even a white group that was you know on the left side of things it would have been a massacre they would have been just moaning people down like. yeah i totally agree so another another point i wanted to get to about this is this was caused partially because trump has gotten these people to believe that the election was completely false illegitimate he won by a landslide he says. that's completely false there's no evidence of it there is evidence of massive voter suppression massive voter purging of the rope from the
4:56 pm
rolls but that was done by right wingers in georgia you know 200000 in georgia purged from the rolls mostly people of color so really the election fraud was done the other way around not the way from saying. however the point i want to make is that the reason these people will believe donald trump and did not believe any of our media mainstream media corporate media even fox news admits life and won this election. is because our mainstream media has so diligent in my eyes themselves by putting so much fake news into the mainstream you know we go all the way back to weapons of mass destruction for one but you know more recent stuff like acting like there was collusion between russia and trump which is all now falling apart. just like story after story you see them collapse and people have been trained to not trust the mainstream media or a and i think that the mainstream media kind of also exacerbated all this just by
4:57 pm
giving him so much airtime or all the airtime that they did you know airing all of the speeches where all of us live where it was like clearly spitting out false it's like they do. you have to air everything that he said i feel like i only this summer i only started seeing networks starting to like cut off like his cut his covert briefing short and they're like ok well it doesn't seem like he's telling the truth but what he has been telling the truth for 4 years let you know it was start in the summer like cutting out this week as you could have started like on day one i did inject myself with bleach and it worked really well. it made me feel pretty zesty i smelled eliminate those likely better than pledge. yeah and they gave you know they got him elected they gave the final numbers were 23 times as much coverage donald trump the bernie sanders 10 times as much coverage donald trump this is during the election hillary clinton and so they got him elected for ratings they didn't cover him everything he says every tweet he says everything he
4:58 pm
mentions intil you know we could go. and so yeah they created this storm and then they go all my god it's become a story right and i only heard like on wednesday night nicolle wallace for m s n b c like i only heard her admit so far that maybe we should have entertained for so long not just him but like all the republican leadership all of his underlings and all that stuff but that's like one out of how many more people that need to admit that or be held accountable for that that's only the one person that ever like maybe we should add that. to the fact that it's pretty rare to hear and of course they will never admit that they that they largely created him in so many ways but all right thank you so much now i appreciate you thanks for having me. that's our show botching get more of my analysis on what happened this week at youtube dot com redacted tonight and also at portable dot tv also join our free e-mail list by texting were redacted to 33777 until next time goodnight q 5.
