maybe on tongue some of it the group behind this lawsuit is saying aapl should treat telegram the same we're treated parlor but aren't these situations pretty much totally different telegrams an encrypted messaging up not a public social network. i mean there's they're similar in the sense that what we're witnessing here is the attempt a concerted effort on the part of this unit party democratic machinery to consolidate media in the hands of approved democratic party apparatuses this is a gesture that is part of a concerted effort to do this to consolidate all media and information platforms that to make sure that they're completely in compliance with the you know party messaging and that's really what's underway we see very similar things going on even on cable news now they're trying to get one american news and newsmax thrown

off of cable t.v. networks here so all of this is part of a concerted effort to consolidate media such that we have a you know party state apparatus that is presenting a singular viewpoint and nothing else let's just pick up on that point from like oh do you think the tech giants are perhaps just trying to protect themselves on this stage anticipating antitrust action from the incoming democrats who are going to control congress. well i think that big tel for a long time now has absolutely been acting like a cartel we see coronated efforts being taken by amazon and google to take down for example parlor which was a main competitor to twitter and when we see them now kind of circling over other apps like telegram and now even mines which is another competitor to facebook and youtube you know they'll claim things like oh it's about safety it's about trying to take down violent threats i think that is absolutely i'm sorry but bullcrap i

mean don't forget that on platforms like facebook there have been murders rapes and suicides live stream g. mail was infamous when it was being used by islamic terrorists to actually plan attacks by going into drafts and not actually sending messages this isn't about protecting anyone's safety or emotional well being this is about big tech trying to control the public discourse and actually going forward i would say that big tech is is feeling pretty safe and comfortable right now which is why they're taking so many actions against their competitors because i think they know at the end of the day that by an administration is going to be very friendly with them because they say they toe the same party line jennifer is this a dangerous game that we're seeing being played out essentially between democratic . want to call it the upper office but essentially the operetta loans of the democratic party and big tech could this come back to bite the liberal side of the u.s. when the conservative side have more of

a say maybe in 4 years down the line they're not going to let this lie there could be a bug back. absolutely not only there's is there going to be a blowback from the public as a whole but there's going to be a bloke like in many respects 1st of all one of the things that they've forgotten with this entire big tech takedown of everything not only of apps of businesses of personalities of voices of their livelihoods is that we've forgotten the difference between subjective and objective and under law objective things are things that we can measure they are facts this actually happened you stole something from somebody whom it belonged to subjective is what they're trying to shove down our throats that is well this is hate speech or what is hate speech that's why america has been more reluctant to pass and he speech laws because now you have president trump they can say go and peacefully assemble here and that's what that's called inciting violence and so all of these themes are subjective so when they say as my colleague here said that that it's for the public safety it's all subjective so it just

depends on whoever controls the reins whoever has the power at some point that pendulum is going to shift and now you've already set the precedent to allow anybody in the future to come back and say you know what we don't like your speech for shutting you out and by the way you're not going to be able to raise an income earning for your family because we will take you down that's the danger that michael just returning to telegram there are there are claims about a certain stages that became the preferred means of communication for terrorist group ngs including islam expats were found to have used that european police worked with telegram to take down a cunt associated with the group in 29 doing a much pause for concern does not give you. well i think those kind of groups should be taken to mean that the constitution ited states for example the 1st amendment does not protect speech that incites imminent violence that is absolutely not protected speech but that's a different thing than taking down those groups and taking out an entire app on the

basis of these groups and then there's so much double standard here i mean there's 5 months that is constantly paraded around twitter and facebook these apps these platforms that are notorious for left wing threats and for inciting violence and for we're going to ising. and other groups black lives matter which undertook a man month rampage across the country and actually committed real world violence and yet nothing was done with them so this is late in apocryphally a double standard and it's really about consolidating media control and the ends of the you know party system lauren we did see in years gone by big tech attempt to fight back trying keep themselves independent it appears that was a road a little bit perhaps people working for those firms decided that they had more of a political bent down they made public before where does this and is there

a merger between big tech political groups or will there be a concerted fight to keep the independents. i think we're going to be living in a world very soon where the political establishment and the big tech oligarchy are really one in the same and actually we see that already if you look at the upper echelons of for example facebook we see that some of the people on their trust and trust and safety team are actually former democrat staffers and i think the same can be said for places like twitter and google as well and of course you know a lot of these affiliations are never made public but they do exist so right now we see that the establishment is kind of i guess putting their fingers into every means of control that is available to them including big tech and you know i really have to cut the trumpet ministration and the g.o.p. for not taking action against this sooner we've heard a lot of talk about oh antitrust this and you know federal probes that but at the end of the day nothing has come of it and now unfortunately i think we may be at a time where it's too late to take meaningful action against these mega giants that

are really controlling the public discourse not just the united states but for so many countries ok we have a rather minute left if you'd if you'd like to offer up a few final thoughts to feel free jennifer. just to say that we have to be careful because now that the upper echelons the political elite the political establishment and a lot of people in america i think would now say that there are g.o.p. years that are still part of that same establishment regardless of what party affiliation you have but the democratic elite the political elite that even some of the g.o.p. elite but we're looking at these same ones with these tech giants who are trying to silence voices and i think i think now we're seeing a greater danger than we thought before because if these people had these entanglements have these and then they can set the rules because as my colleague here said earlier there is there is there is not protected speech for inciting violence but again that's subjective and so when they know when the elites know what that is and they can absolutely go against it and say you know what we're going to tell you we're inciting violence just because we don't like your opinion
