the bombs drugs decades ago this is the u.s. making amends for the tragedy in laos built to the people need that little. in today's world it seems like there is no absence of people willing to talk and share their opinion but are we hearing from the people whose voice is the most important today we are going to look at a new social media platform looking to put your voice in the spotlight speaking of voices we heard donald trump's voice for 90 minutes at his 1st official speech after leaving office we're going to go over all the details of his speech as well as other highlights from this past weekend's conservative pep rally in orlando plus sean stone lent us his voice regarding last night's golden globe awards and if it's

hypocritical of celebrities to be calling out the social splinters of others while standing amongst their own a forest of evil and finally we're going to give you the 360 view of governor cuomo and the latest controversy surrounding his office as a new video emerges confirming his use of a sexually suggestive language with his staff i am sky you know hughes and you are watching news right here on our team america. former president donald trump made his 1st major appearance since leaving office over the weekend at the conservative political action conference now while the 1st event before as president did it welcome him with open arms things are quite different 4 years later are to correspondent tosh's sweet has the details.
2:32 am
making his 1st major appearance since leaving office former president donald trump headlining the conservative political action conference sunday he call for unity among republicans squashing the notion he would create his own independent party trump also criticizing biden's 1st few weeks in office you know why he's had the most disastrous 1st month of any president in modern history which. was already in the bronx zoo. that they are entitled to us and tell him and tighter border and tight energy and tight women and anti science this year the conference was held in orlando instead of the washington suburbs as a result of the pentameter it showed to be a positive decision among some supporters in florida with quite a turnout i'm expired recharge our batteries are ready to go take on the battle with fitness with presidential historian there was even a gold trim step she want to splay at the conference other speakers included

potential 2024 hopefuls the other half of trump supporters like former secretary of state my pump a.o. he defended his record under the trumpet ministration demonstrated enormous resistance resistance to socialism to the will cancel cultural talk some about that have we resisted seeing our liberty and our freedoms slipping away this is a noble war the fight and we're in it colorado congresswoman mourn the woman applause after saying she wanted to introduce more legislation for 2nd amendment rights $80.00. 10005 an hour and they are ok. in washington some critics within the republican party maintain their dissatisfaction for the former president's there my views about president johnson and the extent to which nothing he said rebelling. i know things
2:34 am
are hinting at a future run trump proclaimed things are far from being over. who knows i may even need to be temperature down ok. but many of us fans say with trump you really can't predict his next move i think what he's going to do though is i don't think he'll commit to more. he's read his book the art of the deal he likes to keep all options open but one thing is for certain trump is still making headlines getting attention from his supporters and his critics alike reporting for news houston texas we are. thank you natasha you know major political events like the pack are put on not only for the faithful who spend the money and the time to attend but also most event planners hope the energy is strong enough to be felt by those who are watching from afar you know the new social media site hoping to be the place people go to not only for exchange of
2:35 am
ideas but to also be an outlier outlet for those looking for an immediate reaction to breaking news events and avoid the censorship which seems to be happening more and more on the most known platforms to discuss this the newest member of the social media family called clubhouse we bring on an investigative journalist been one ben thank you so much for joining us yeah absolutely glad to be here ok this is relatively new but i think about at least it's coming to my orbit new talk about what is clubhouse and more importantly if we're learning it's also about who's behind these types of social media platforms. yeah it's always about who is behind us and what what clubhouses 1st it is a social media app as you mentioned it is audio only so essentially it's set up in a way where you would have kind of audio chats going on you can set up a chat room where you and i could talk one on one or we could have a small group of people or say that you decided scott if you wanted to set up a clubhouse chat and you wanted to interview someone who's newsworthy and then listeners would come in they could join that conversation they could listen into
2:36 am
that conversation if they could find it and then they would be allowed to raise their hand virtually ask questions virtually so there's it's kind of set up almost like a zoom or a google meet but it's open to anyone who's on the app and again it's for conversations take place but the question about who is behind it silicon valley is behind it a couple of x. google employees are behind it is being funded by anderson horowitz now has a valuation of over a $1000000000.00 and basically silicon valley tech companies love it and is it a free speech haven that's probably your next question the answer is no that's interesting and i want to dive into that but before i do i want to bring in chris ruby who's actually been a guest on the show in the past who has really taken advantage from the very beginning and created one most popular political side clubhouses on the site chris thank you so much for joining us you were on probably from an early size talked to me about this platform and what about it appealed to you and how do you find usually engaged in your conversations. sure so early on i applied for the
2:37 am
republican and conservative clubhouse handle on clubhouse to create political discourse and discussions with civility from both sides i was surprised and happily surprised to see that the club was accepted and who is attracted to that club well we have a host of different politicians pundits different media commentators and again people from both sides of the aisle and had really fascinating discussions and i got to you've been in some of them as well but everything ranging from syria to. presidents from speech to social media and tech censorship and even to attack lawyers debating section $230.00 of the communications decency act so who is attracted to this platform i would say anyone and everyone who cares about having these conversations and i think what's interesting is that it's really disrupting the traditional media landscape we saw that yesterday was seen pac out with live analysis after donald trump's speech people went over to our into the room i saw
2:38 am
you in there as well where why turn on cable news when you can go to clubhouse and hear hundreds are saying in real time but live stream analysis well and that's it and that's kind of why i've actually been attracted to the platform so far is because not only your room chris but others i immediately get to hear a wide diverse and it's not just the pundits i'm hearing how this resonates in the grassroots which brings me back to your last word that you said been that you said is this going to be a haven for free speech you feel like it's not correct and why do you kind of get that impression. well i get it from a couple things listen it's great that so far it is turning into a place where people can bypass pundits that's always important but is it going to remain a place for that to happen who knows look number one silicon valley money is behind that that's a bad sign number 2 there are already users in the chinese mainland who say the conversations are being censored in terms of what they're allowed to talk about so at the end of the day it would be great if these sites were set up in a way that said hey we want to be open to as many points of view as possible but
2:39 am
that is not the thinking of most people in silicon valley right now and certainly not in companies that are attempting to eventually we would guess i.p.o. or raising funds which these guys are doing actively raising funds and so when that happens you are already get this since that there's going to be hey we've got to control some of the language that's used look twitter just did something today you guys might have seen and came out and said it was removing users who essentially put out a point of view that might seem negative to nato which is mind boggling that we're even there now clubhouse is not doing that but what gives me any kind of common is that they won't nothing because it's the same people the same mindset of people who are running this app that run facebook and run twitter and run google and either x. and guys right and kristen given a long face and a conservative and you've probably had things on other platforms be censored or had to lose followers we've seen that happen on twitter so how do you respond to some of those concerns that get this is kind of still being backed by silicon valley. so
2:40 am
i agree with what ben said and i think so if people want to win here they need to play by the rules. clubhouse platform in terms of service i think the challenge that we have especially on the right is they view that as only using p.c. language and you know they want to rage against the machine rather than understanding what the machine is understanding the rules of the platform the rules of engagement and you're either going to follow those rules and understand this sort of work environment that we're playing in or not i'm choosing to stick within those guidelines and with those boundaries because i'm putting the community in the collective community 1st without doing that these conversations will be canceled people will be canceled in the club will be canceled literally overnight so if you are conservative on these platforms you really don't have many options you can either play by the rules big tech giants or you'll be canceled i'm well aware of that and i'm choosing not to go against it at this point so that i can create the space for people to top well and i have another that and didn't go for it i'm going
2:41 am
to say not to say you think about chris i think chris is doing it the right way the sad thing for a lot of conservatives is the rules that are in place today may not be the rules tomorrow i mean it's an ever changing set of rules i think that's what's created so much frustration and by the way facebook is trying to now launch a competitor to clubhouse interesting that they're trying to get in on this so it shows you the popularity of it but you know you know this is going to go to the facebook version well and that expression the rigid you know this might be the beginning of talk radio people to talk radio because they could call and they could engage but it's like talk radio immediately at this point and i agree with you i think what's making it so popular right now is people are able to get immediate interaction with those they want to interact with i agree it's going to be as that continues to grow there is power in that is just can are they going to try to control that power if it actually begins as we've seen they do on other social media when they get popular chris congratulations on the clubhouse and i said this isn't just about politics there's lots of other discussions and topics and comments thank you so much ben for your research. i don't think many people realize what the

larry johnson with the artificial intelligence recently. i. must protect its own existence and existence. now it seems like governor andrew cuomo is having a very bad week actually maybe he's having a bad few weeks as a 2nd allegation of inappropriate behavior and sexual harassment has now made its way into the public there is even video to prove it now this following growing concern over the mismanagement of a nursing home and high risk patients exposed to the krona virus early on in the pandemic so in today's 360 view we're going to talk about governor cuomo who has been praised for his handling of the crowd a virus by democrats in the past how are his handling 2 major fires within his
2:45 am
office will he survive or is his political future about to be burned to the ground joining us for a $360.00 view is michael johns co-founder of the u.s. and national tea party movement and a former white house speechwriter to president george h.w. bush and from the last we have our good friend david katz thank you so much for joining me gentleman. going to you you know what david i'm going to start with you because guess what this is in your house this is you know governor cuomo he was a superstar within the democrats for the past year you know he's now allowing an independent investigation into what has happened with the crowd of virus in regards to nursing home patients but why does he allow in this now why is the corporate cooperating now. well scott it's great to be back with you it's been about a year the last time i was on i confidently predicted when biden was in the dumps in the polls that he would be our next president your distinguished conservative guest laughed at me you have another distinguished republican guest so fire away
2:46 am
today it's cuomo you know how i can i have to get your you know what i let's stop i do deserve to give you your victory lap so i will graciously but you're right we did have some very accurate at that point even a year ago biden wasn't really even at the top of polls nobody was excited about him it's obviously been an interesting year now regard to you get your victory lap for the next 4 years congratulations now let's talk about i have mike i vote i brought my crystal ball today. i think that excuse me i think that the problem that cuomo has he has huge problems he has to cooperate with this investigation one is regarding the sexual harassment charges including the ones that were just made by i think her name is charlotte bennett the 25 year old but he's also got the nursing home investigation and he wanted to control that investigation you know appoint the people and so forth that would be investigating it but that has not happened he's
2:47 am
now had to officially allow the attorney general the state attorney general there in new york kish james so she's going to appoint the people she's going to conduct the investigation and i think that we should let the investigation play out i mean remember with president trump we had the mother investigation they did increase there was a report and i think there needs to be an inquiry and a reporter i don't think we should have a rush to judgment that's not fair of a republican or of a democrat and yes he's gotten a lot of criticism but i think the important thing is that there's going to be an investigation you know i'm a former federal prosecutor he hired a former federal prosecutor just today or yesterday to help and. in the investigation because of course there's a serious investigation of the governor and he needs to get counsel so he's gotten that and i think that we should all just step back a little bit we should certainly watch the news we should be apprehensive but you
2:48 am
know i think even the republicans should start to start think about the fact they really want to have a governor de blasio and do they want to have it after there's been an inadequate investigation there's been a rush to judgment nobody thought trump should resign right away you know cuomo was there with clinton clinton didn't resigned right away they both had impeachment trials clinton and trump and they were both cleared so i think we should let let the investigation play out let's see what the facts are but obviously there are troubling allegations from these 2 young women no doubt about it well i don't mean to say we did not actually play the video as you saw we played the role of it because what was said on that video this is a family friendly show i don't like actually putting those type of things on the air we thought we'd even put the audio with the because it was so sexually suggestive what was said michael that's what i want to bring you any new heard david saying you know we need to let this play out don't rush to judgment you as a republican after the last year and everything you've gone through rushing to judgment has been one of the accusations that republicans have made mainly the media saying that you know not only the accusation has been made that the media
2:49 am
helped cover for cuomo for the past year possibly even when they knew the nursing home scandal was going on could have even cost lives allowing it to go on this way do you think that's fair. there's not been a lot of fairness in american politics to clearly the last 4 years and that's one of the challenges i think that confronts many conservatives and republicans is that you know i i believe in this case for instance cuomo is and should be afforded due process and presumption of innocence of their foundations of american jurisprudence in american american. functionality but we very rarely are given the same benefit and you know you look sort of the 40 years that were consumed by to these lists impeachment efforts against president drugs and a broad range of inability really to give him due credit for the extraordinary range of accomplishments or deny those it's not been
2:50 am
a pertwee we throw around we climate just policy honesty and open the way that's something you know the american people and its leadership all of us need to take someone or ship on is to try to raise the standard to which there was and may repair is jefferson said and i think that's kind of the challenge we're confronting right now is that. there's not a focus on the actual impact on people right of moment or struggling in an almost unprecedented way economically in a public health dimension and way too much focus on the individuality of politics well and i want to look at this also we want to get the timing of it that think that's always key plays a key part in politics michael real quick 6 months ago this was a hero why don't we talk about this now that neither the sexual harassment cases or the nursing home cases just happened recently but yet now this is all coming out a lot of accusations right now considering how the growth of power governor cuomo is having possibly for 2024 to put any credibility into that. well and cuomo has
2:51 am
political futures looking to right now and i think it's very survival as governor of new york is very much in question in fact it's not and this isn't simply an issue of you know partisan divide the democratic establishment in new york is concerned about it and he's a great squad raiser and i think he's very astute competent in appealing little figure on an individual level the reality in policy is even qubit is you know he's been driving people out of the state right with high taxes my regulatory environment because you know we we don't compete in the other countries from standpoint of our economy that compete hard to the states and one works not by all its benefits but really i want to i want to get david here ok we got we got 20 seconds that david last word goes to on this does this and governor cuomo future political aspirations to possibly run for president one day it even if it's democratic to a post i don't think that's what he wants to do but i don't think that he's going
2:52 am
to quit i think that he feels the same way as trump and clinton he's not a quitter he's going to hang in there and i think he's going to finish out his term and i don't think that he's going to be impeached it's too democratic house an assembly there in new york he needs a 2 thirds vote to be removed just like trump did i think trump's last piece went in particular was very justified i think he should have been convicted but you know he wasn't because it's very hard to get to the 2 thirds vote to actually convict and remove in an impeachment trial well we will see what these investigations turn out but i don't think this will just be a short news cycle i know the family of those who lost out early in new york are very persistent and they do deserve answers as well thank you gentlemen for joining us. they should get there you know last night with the 78th annual golden globe awards which honors the best in t.v. as chosen by the hollywood foreign press association and like any awards show over the past few years political statements were made even through this year they were made mainly from the living room couch rather than from
2:53 am
a clamorous stage so discuss the controversies highlighted as well as the ones that received no attention we bring in our own our to america's the johnstone thank you so much for joining us on. you know it's nice to see you ok award shows some people love him some people hate him especially if you're in hollywood like you have been in your family has been you know does do you think expressing political positions and awards show helped or hurt not only the show but also the causes they try to represent. sure i mean i speak from having a father who famously made a speech at the academy awards in 7821 commitment at express and he was actually talking about in his autobiography was a bit coked up that night but he basically is in the war on drugs and you know it was an important speech as you know as you've seen over the course of time marlon brando setting a native american woman up to make a statement i think statements are wonderful things the problem when it comes to politics sometimes is when it is we've seen over the years when it becomes too sealers to point against one person and i think that was
2:54 am
a big issue of the last 4 years where in times we were criticizing systems when it comes to politics we are criticizing a system of war on drugs or war or foreign wars or me too and then when it comes to then singling out certain people becomes harder because then it becomes very touchy right so we criticize the iraq war. made it all about bush when we understood it was more about a system for the same as clinton had done but it's like the left was we see that i'm singling out people like bush or trump as opposed to what the right does which is more critical of the system as a whole and that's what we thought you know the past 4 years last night very there was no probably mention of biden that i remember but one thing that i did see that they were united on what the criticism of the foreign press association for not actually have any black members of the association and they weren't inclusive for black lead productions this morning some say they did no job last night and justifying correcting or apologizing for the problem do you think that we are going to see
2:55 am
a change within the foreign film press based on just last night that was one thing that everybody with unified on even the host from the stage made comments about it . sure sure i mean it it's illegal a last minute suit to make changes to that type of thing i mean the fact that it's come it's funny come out at this point after years of desiring inclusive body and seeing more inclusive eddie in the in the oscars in last year's in the golden globes last few years you know 345 years that we've seen it really since the obama administration so the fact that it's only come out now and there's no black members on the hollywood foreign press association is just fascinating but ultimately i mean look look at me films run across the verse about diversity of you know sort of recently black actors won an asian american film maker once or nomad land or dave so i mean this is like you know this is this is unprecedented and just in that regard was the 1st asian american moments when. you know at a golden globe for best director at least so it's you know it's it's tremendous the overall inclusively i think was there even if the people behind the scenes are not
2:56 am
there well and real quick for that here we go talk about the one thing they didn't talk about with the sex trafficking industry no mention of that last night in fact in the past harvey weinstein was praised by the stage from the oscars you know does the fact that these multiple political issues are brought up yet the absence of the one thing does that not speak volumes as a silence actually louder than words in this case. it could be i mean ricky gervais's it a great job last time i remember his speech was so incisive since ice of incendiary i mean he was really calling out celebrities as you know who here is a friend of jeffrey epstein right and he did in such a way that was uncomfortably powerful and potent obviously that really pulled back this time there are you know there's a time period where we're in now which is just so heavily self-conscious unfortunately right and this time period so i think it was a difficult thing to even bring up the same time i just hope that weak people be like the viewership dropped off the ship was tremendously dropped off it's like the overall population is not that interested in hollywood right now in these films
2:57 am
there's just it's you watching at home it's not the same experience of going to theaters having social engagements around it so i don't know that it was a sort of right moment in us so to really make that a major issue just because the attention of the wasn't there and signed what's really by is probably the 1st award ceremony that act the name of the movie there because i've been stacked on my couch for the last year actually recognize them the title of on there were normally i doubt and i thought you gave an award raising winning observation thank you so much for sharing with us thank you. that is all for today's show i want you to follow me on twitter at study and use use the hash tag team and d.h. will we can then you this conversation and if you want this show any more all the shows of the past download at the portal dot tv at the near apple or android device let me taste it guess what we're going to be right back here tomorrow talk to you later.

a dance you don't consume don't eat and i can do it on joking dealing with the saying i'm done for some in that are equal good intentions my songs are what equals a stance me. don't we don't see only i'm doing. that to those all moving in as a song as a pseudo so dowsett all to the sitting on. the . so what we've got to do is identify the threats that we have it's crazy confrontation let it be an arms race off and spearing dramatic developments only personally i'm going to resist i don't see how that strategy will be successful very critical time to sit down and talk.
