it is i'm just take a step backwards with the allowance of transgender athletes to compete in female sports we're going to give you the $360.00 view of the issues with our panel all of this plus the star of a new controversial movie joins us to share or whether or not his own personal custody battle inspired him to make a movie about roe versus wade i'm scott to know hughes and you're watching news views use right here on our to america my . house democrats have been pushing to include a federal minimum wage but raise into the $1.00 trillion dollars cove in 1900. but now things are looking so certain in the senate as not all democrats are on board with the idea if passed this could really hurt the economy more during the pandemic or to correspond in a touch of sweet takes a look at how both sides in washington are responding. divisions within the democratic party are aluminum 18 as the push to raise the minimum wage to $15.00 an

hour continues house democrats have advanced a proposal to include the measure in the $1.00 trillion dollars stimulus bill but the notion of the idea of passing in the senate is still a no you got millions of workers working for starvation wages we've got to raise the minimum wage to a living wage of $15.00 an hour that's what the american people want and that's what i intend to do so enter bernie sanders the senate's leading proponent of the bill has been pushing for this wage hike for years even when he ran for president today we are here to fight for the dignity oh wal-mart employees the senate parliamentarian advised against the move preventing democrats from using a filibuster been working on this to fight for 15 for a number of years now and it's long overdue and it will be phased in and we would hope that it could be part of this reconciliation for the idea of reason that the

minimum wage to $15.00 an hour has been something many have been watching for us republicans argue over who actually cause more layoffs since businesses are already struggling to make ends meet in the middle of the pandemic we're nearly 11000000 americans who have already lost their jobs the last thing you do is increase the cost on businesses which will according to the see below at least a shutter $1400000.00 jobs senator joni ernst argues the move will also increase the cost of child care and so we're up above the federal minimum wage already what this proposal that the democrats are putting out there would do is increased according to an independent study encrease the cost of child care president joe biden supports a 15 dollar minimum wage but has acknowledged he will likely have to omit the measure from the $1.00 trillion dollar covert 19 financial relief package he's proposing say it could possibly. be introduced as a separate bill down the road but where you seen the minimum wage has been an

ongoing endeavor since 1940 as a result of fairly bush standards and then 949 the minimum wage was raised from $0.40 an hour to $0.65 an hour jumping to $9906.00 it increased to $475.00 an hour and $515.00 in 190710 years later in 2007 it increased to 585 an hour 655 in 200-8725 in 2009 republicans mitt romney and tom cotton are proposing a more modest increase of $10.00 an hour over 5 years instead of 15 reporting for news fuse houston tosha sweet archie you know raising the minimum wage is a great rallying point for democrats on the campaign trail however is that one of those promises which does not need to come through or discuss to bring in from mercer director of development advocacy and sustainability for whole child strategies thank you so much for joining us live there thank you thank you for going to be well i have to tell you 2009 the last chance obviously
2:34 am
a lot has changed our country i can see why there is a demand right now for people to raise the minimum wage but i do have to include this but do your country right now can afford raising the minimum wage following basically this year of economic perils caused by the pandemic. well i think the real question is not whether you can raise a wage but when is it going to raise it the talk is that it will not reach $15.00 until 2025 and so one of the reasons this keeps coming up all the time around the minimum wage it's not indexed to inflation so sometimes we really don't know whether or not inflation how that's going to impact the wage and what it's going to really look like in 2025 so i think the conversation about where we need to go we know that a person can't live off of 725 or a family can't live off of 725 an hour that has been shown so next question is what
2:35 am
do we need to do and how is the process or what is the process we need to take to making sure that americans can have a fair wage a living wage moving forward and so the 20202025 some people believe that actually that's just too far out because of inflation hits in 2025 what we get to $15.00 it actually may be that we need to look at $25.00 so the conversation i think is one we need to have in this country especially during this time well if inflation had so much that it's $25.00 i have to wonder what the rest of the cost would be right now that the major economic crisis but i see where that argument you know but the one of the things that look i do think it's fair to consider that a blanket raising considering the cost of living is different in various regions of our country i mean urban areas like new york city versus very very country that the more hours do you think it's you know a living wage of more be defined by where you are living. well i think the economists have already looked at that in a lot of them are divided but definitely there have been concerns about how we
2:36 am
would hit low wage workers dishwashers or warehouse workers in regards to the kind of states like mississippi or west virginia joe manchin as you know senator joe manchin is is really challenging raising the wage but from a study that was done in west virginia it actually showed that a single person can't live or should be living off of $14.00 to $15.00 an hour in rule west virginia so i think the challenge is going to be in this incremental raise the beautiful thing about being incremental is that you can always have a conversation about where we are as inflation comes in as it's impacting states as it goes to $9.25 in 2021 and move forward we can always measure that in the in a just according well we can look at how it's affecting the government i'm also concerned about the small business committee which has definitely been pushing back
2:37 am
i guess what we can't afford $15.00 to keep you know various employees and we're going to have to summer you know minimize that let some go and put them on i've you know put 2 or 3 on salary we know that's going to happen but i don't think many people also consider the effect of raising the minimum wage will have on cost of products and i think that also goes into that inflation you know what could that affect the baby. well. i think we you saw in the clip where it said that you know small businesses some have already had this in certain areas where it's impacted 1700000 i think the c.b.o.t. is looked at that within a c.b.l. also said that 27000000. if the wages are raised $27000000.00 people will be able to have more resources in order to feed into the economy so it will have an impact all those small businesses products and goods and services again because of inflation and because we don't know this is what your own power
2:38 am
has been speaking about and his last statement around where he believes the economy is now where we believe we're going and he doesn't believe inflationary anything like that is going to happen so as of now the fit is even saying the products goods and services may not be impacted by this and again we will know the full impact until we reach a 15 dollars minimum wage well and i hate to bring up this one case example but the one restaurant that promised to pay their employees you know the raise their way to $50.00 they're already out of business i hope that would have been the case that if a country fair work fair fair pay is what we need let them our 1st thank you sir and thank you very much good to see. the new footage has just been released of the iranian attack last january 8th on the all assad air force base in iraq now this is an attack which intelligence officers suggest was meant to actually level the base and while major damage was done thanks to advance warning most of the base had been evacuated by that time however despite

this the by demonstration wishes for both iran and the u.s. to rejoin the obama era iran nuclear deal the united states carried out airstrikes on friday night in syria targeting iranian militias in response to recent rocket attacks on u.s. forces in iraq so discuss this strategy we bring in john jordan former navy intelligence officer john thank you so much for joining me. good to be here scott do you see jim you know friday night when the when the bombing was announced is going to happen were you surprised that this is so soon into the into the bottom astray ssion especially considering that iran is saying that you know biden has to you know there were just getting along with iraq iran trying to get them back into the j c p a way. no i'm not surprised at all the biden ministration admitted telegraphed even before the election that they intended to relent on iran and and come back to the bargain table and relax sanctions and to re-enter the j c
2:40 am
p a way which i might add basically allows iran to have a nuclear weapon in 2025 whether it's entered into even if it is enter into any even if it is strictly invited by so the iranians and so the biden was rationed telegraphed weakness and all the iranians needed to do need to do is start to raise the temperature somewhat raise the temperature in syria raise the temperature in iraq and around the world because the because the by demonstrations already given up its leverage by saying that it is going to retreat from the trumpet ministration campaign of maximum economic pressure which was having a real effect on iran well and nothing you mentioned at iran saying they want they're not going to rejoin unless biden lifts all these new sanctions put on them by the last the last mr action by demonstration saying guess what we want to make sure that you're actually going to be in compliance of it it weren't in compliance necessarily other before they got out do you think that you're actually going to see biden relenting on it is that exactly the smartest strategy in dealing with
2:41 am
iran as what we know from history. well no i mean it's absolutely not history tells us that weakness only makes the aggressor more aggressive i mean going back to munich in the 1930 s. vivid in this case iran intends to build a nuclear weapon they intend to build the delivery systems to deliver that weapon and by the way the j c p a way does not cover iran's rocket or missile programs which are a problem both in terms of nuclear weapons and in terms of export to places like north korea so iran has no interest in his made it very clear they're not going to negotiate on their missile program at all nor are they willing to negotiate on their using sending resources and money to his blog and promoting terrorism in destabilization or around the middle east so iran is basically just saying we'll negotiate a little bit and when we can get a nuclear weapon not if but when but we're happy to schedule that out until 2025 if you'll give us a bunch of money and the biden this ration is basically saying ok so if ever there
2:42 am
was a recipe to force saudi arabia into a corner where they may have to develop nuclear weapons it i don't know what it is because this is going to undo the abraham accords and the progress in the middle east is going to change the last few years and john i have to just ask what about this is making sense why is the biden ministration so set on taking this path with iran and how they're handling them. that's the that's the $64.00 question going to right to the core of it there inside the democrat party scottie it in the side much of the establishment in the democrat the establishment of this country the foreign policy option is anything that trump does did had to be wrong so must be doing the opposite it's a it's a byproduct of the pathology rather than principle which has consumed much of the the people that opposed president trump that they won't look at what he said look at what he did objectives and while i agree or disagree with them most areas but he
2:43 am
was kind of on to something here so will try to continue that so whatever trump did they're going to do the opposite the other part of that is you look at people around biden you know the john kerry's for example there's a lot of people anthony blinken sectors that lot of these people had a lot to do with the iran nuclear deal and they have a lot invested in terms their prestige and careers in it so to see it walked away from and to see basically it's abrogation being the harbinger of peace in the middle east is just a repudiation of so much of their life work they find it intolerable john kerry for example said there would never be a reproach ma between any arab states and israel without 1st settling the palestinian question that proved to be false so you see a lot of people promoting a trying to protect their own legacies and their own and the basically their own pride by undoing this and that a lot of people in the middle east could very well end up paying the price which is very scary john jordan farman a navy officer also going on there somewhere i bet there's some dollars involved
2:44 am
just it was a wild guess because normally somehow that always involved john thank you so much for joining us my pleasure. now when we return we're going to come back home and talk about the present day right of both parents and a new film featuring controversial figures coming to screen near you. since that other above days of them. along with them if they pay them is only. about the him i'm obviously to let's. listen for one second crock and i put it on the types to use a punishment to me in the next tongues arms mom i'm going to have. been. used when few get in though in. the village will miss them including animals on the.

response has been so many good people are helping us. it makes us feel very proud that we are in it together. and you fell based off the life of the dr bernard nathan said a prominent abortion doctor turned a pro-life advocate and catholic convert roe v wade which features a well known names like jon voight robert davi joey lawrence and stacey dash also include some well known activists like tommy lauren roger stone and my pillow c.e.o. mike landell and i say discuss this film as businessmen take low is awful the writer producer director in the film and stars in it himself wow thanks nick for joining us thank you so much for having me appreciate it ok you were very invested in this film considering you could just kind of followed in your family's

a large footsteps in the banking world or continue or in your own private business i have to ask why are you so passionate about taking on a film project like this in so many different ways you know it was interesting i was you have been so in business for over 20 years and i was working on a movie set 5 years ago and somebody approached me and said you know nick you should do a movie about roe v wade i think my 1st reaction was why would i do a pro-choice movie you know. i think that's the 1st reaction most americans hear the case it's a case of legalized abortion in america and what he sort of explained to me that you know that people change their minds that people lie convert all the manipulation of the senate almost like a conspiracy like j. of shelters don't you want to sort of research i was fascinated. as a filmmaker how interesting dynamic the story was and i couldn't believe you know
2:48 am
hollywood makes movies and everything why hasn't. the movie the most famous court case in american history ever been me. well you definitely gathered some good actors to come in and portray the characters and you're right most people don't understand they just hear roe versus wade legalized abortion they don't understand not only before what led up to it but more importantly what happened afterwards and we find out this is really the rest of the story as we say but this film has already kind of garnered some controversy as you can imagine but films based off of true stories and historical events are released all the time why do you think your film especially this is being deemed controversial and had and having to say they're being termed as a pro-life bias considered as you point out the primary source of funding for this $8500000.00 movie with octavius prince who's a major pro-choice advocate and also executive producer also plays in the film itself why do you think this is getting controversy when we see a circle films all the time. well you know it's the most controversial case in american history so that's i mean that's what i mean of course and i would think
2:49 am
you know is is is the most controversial topic of every every presidential election . you know on top of that you know we lay out the truth and i think the pro-choice or pro portion advocates are not happy about the truth that's laid out and i think we're being attacked for that. and and but that's you know that's normal i mean the media is controlled by progress and activists by the liberal media so of course they're going to come after and try to i can try to silence us as we live in this new chance a culture that's of that we talk a lot about on the catheter and we ask you how accurate did you say to the script of what actually happened in that time and where did you get your research and i don't have for not only did we. remain so accurate everything crossed i read you dot every i read even on our web site we posted a fact check less so if people go see the movie and they're like well actually it be true that can't be true you know actually go to a movie website a roe v wade movie dot com back. and see the actual sources we use you know
2:50 am
original source material whether it was books or letters or interviews or speeches tapes i mean essentially we literally documented everything in the movie is 100 percent accurate so you know i think that it's going to be very very difficult in the media says what i really want to get a so i mean you know i you know you great great example you know there's a scene of a movie where we see margaret sanger the founder of planned parenthood giving a speech at $926.00 iraq. which is straight out from her out of biography and she's a well you know you genesis well the daily beast. not only wrote about it they actually came to set without an invite and actually while we were shooting it jumped in the middle of sat sort of right down the actors. dialogue in the road a story seen that although they agreed margaret sanger was

a eugenicist that we actually per trade are as it races and she may be a eugenicist she's definitely not a race now through your audience viewers i don't really know the difference i think you actually have to be a racist to be you titus's and so i think they're going to twist very they can try to you know kill files but that's what you know that you know bend the facts and that's if you like how to go without talking about your own high profile legal battle with your former fiance over the frozen embryos just recently lost an appeal for full custody yes do you think your own personal about experience makes an even more appreciate life and even more dedicated to this film i you know i am so specifically to the court battle that i'm going through but i think the jury that i took is you know i i grew up i'm pro-choice i mean i think most people of my generation i'm 40 fights broke out a world where you were taught that what he gets pregnant is just a clump of cells and there's really no baby there and i in my twenty's was involved
2:52 am
with you know girlfriend and we had about 2 abortions and our main character also at the time is the biggest abortionist american history overseas over 70000 abortions and then through his life he ends of converting once he realizes he's chile babies in their human beings becomes a life and so that had a big impact on me because i followed very similar journey as you know as i got older not only did those courses you know when me my consciousness but i also you know was able to learn that as a baby there you know your rb in the 1st couple weeks and technology has really brought that to the front or from what we can see you know what we just played and there is a child there's arms and legs there's eyes and mouth there's movement it's not just a clump of cells it's really a human the well neck you know best of wait wait to see what sort of conversations come out of it. thank you so much for having me i really appreciate it thank you. you know nick brings up

a very interesting subject concerning parenting rights you know both parents' rights and does it seem like it might be on different fronts today you know gender roles seem to be questioned and majorly coming out from transgender athletes choosing to play for female teams also to the role fathers are allowed to play in their children's life even at an early age so the 1st 6 to be on this i want to bring in at re severson attorney and founder of the blush project foundation and conservative commentator rory riley to discuss ladies i knew when i had you on today i knew that we wanted to do a topic like this i know all of us have appreciation for the family so i want to start with what was just talking about and i'm going to start with you reese nick has found himself in where he's in a former battle legal battle with his 4 fiance sofia vergara over a custody battle over embryos they both brought together via i.d.'s in 2014 he's asking for full custody as he possibly might want to have a baby from there she does it do you think feel like our legal system right now is set up fairly for both males and females or should it not be in this case. here's
2:54 am
here's the unfortunate truth those embryos are if they are specifically just the woman's embryos and not the i'm sorry the eggs then they belong to the woman if they're discernable onto the man but when you actually create something from them an embryo it becomes to me from my understanding a right a both parents and both parents have a right to decide what becomes of this child so you can't i mean think of this hypothetically if nick decided that he wanted to take those embryos and have those children and raise them with a new woman then you've got a woman's egg being raised by a woman that she didn't even consent to have to be in guardianship of her children and certainly that's not an instance that he would as a country you know support and celebrate so right now it's unfortunate but the the way that the law is currently. in operation it does not provide for.
2:55 am
and you know a judge to really make a decision which you need is a contract that 2 people decide on before hand what they choose to do in the event that that relationship is not sustained and those embryos are still friends and whether they choose to destroy it or to keep the and that's why the spouse are going to talk about the legal process yesterday to you were in my home state of tennessee they passed the legislature passed a bill so that all transgender athletes are banned from competing in female sports you know do you feel like this latest move being pushed by the current administration is kind of a step back for feminism as we're seeing female scholarships being given to others and records being broken by some of these athletes that are crossing over. well i think you could certainly say that it's a little bit of a step back i mean obviously being opened to different types of rights including for transgendered people on the one hand that's a conversation that we need to have on the other hand it shouldn't come at the
2:56 am
expense of women's sports so for example we're not having the same conversation about people who become female who are born male and them participating in male sports so i think the fact that this conversation is only centering around women's sports goes to show that there's not necessarily. equality that equates to the transition that people go through particularly when it comes to physical strength and speed things like that that come into play with sports so i think we definitely need a more detailed analysis here i don't think that just outright bans one way or the other are necessarily the way to go but it's a complicated issue and it's certainly a complicated process for those individuals to go through it so i would love to see more nuanced conversations here rather than just an across the board what we're going to do or not one way or the other and guess what we're going to continue a conversation i don't get enough time we could expand the holes show on this and we will resort i will have you back on we're going to add to this conversation
