we become more prone to infection and the crazy thing is that code 19 sars could be to one of its ways of attacking the body to deplete the body even more of that chemical which we need to fight infections. tactics that can be used to get innocent people to confess to crimes they didn't commit i don't even think people in the us really get that the police are allowed to lie to the person who falsely fast actually came to believe the lie that they were told about their own behavior once a false confession is taken the case is closed and nobody really can tell the difference between a good confession and one that is. in. gas prices are rising up but the added cost is not just going to be felt at the pump
8:31 pm
we're going to talk to the leader of $1.00 of the largest trucking firms to get an idea of the extent of the impact on your wallet plus social media platforms are constantly changing their rules but should it be the government's responsibility to police our legal advisor lynell joins us to discuss and it's hard enough to keep tabs on the krona virus in our own communities however now it seems that law enforcement has no way of preventing those who cross the border illegally from traveling to other parts of the country even if they test positive for the virus so is this humane or is it dangerous we're going to give you the 360 view with our political panel i am scardino hughes and you're watching news news you right here on our to america. even at a gas station lately to fill up your car not that you'd notice that gas prices are definitely rising in fact the national average price of gasoline has risen $7.05
8:32 pm
per gallon in the last week averaging to $2.72 a gallon today now the national average is up $30.03 per gallon from a month ago and stands a 30.6 percent per gallon higher than a year ago so now imagine taking that rising cost of your vehicle and apply it to a fleet of over $500.00 trucks and tractors and just a few extra dollars bogus what that can turn into millions but who's going to pay that price well my cooch are ski who is sick owner and vice president at j. casey trunking out of chicago joins us to talk about how the rising gas prices are going to impact many areas of life some of you might not even realize thank you so much for joining us mike. thank you for having me on your show you know 1st of all before we get to the curse that i want to talk about the past and the state of the transportation industry over the past year you know we just finished being
8:33 pm
a pandemic and i haven't finished yet how did that affect your business over the past year. well being in the pandemic of the code bend the spectrum of transportation is going to change most likely forever of food in america and it has shut down all the restaurants and hotels casinos closed the food food service completely team to a screeching halt we lost over 50 percent of our volumes that we used to haul it were it was left went to the market went to the lowest bidder so it's really affected us and then time in the. uptick in volume as we come right back down so it wasn't happening transportation markets it's just been a roller coaster it's been getting worse and worse and people will say well it can't getting worse and it is getting worse now especially with our operations going up and they just tax as you say well it's interesting you bring that up because obviously the demand stayed the same because people still needed the goods that your trucks transported and obviously your people were there transport i don't
8:34 pm
know if we talked about the coronavirus and the impact actually had on the driver's health physically but what was missing was actually what could go in those trucks the production of those sorts of goods that needed to go in those trucks now you come to this point you're finding out guess what you overcome that you're still in business now they're raising your gas prices which can be very very detrimental to your business but do you actually take on the cost when gas prices go up. well we do and what we do is increase the cost to whoever hires those what's going to happen is that's going to end up to the end user which is the american people we all only products so you can see in the grocery store all your favorite items going on in the restaurants that are charging more because we have to charge more so you cover our costs and business to these goods and only hurts american people well and that's why i think people don't realize it's not just about what you're paying at the pump it's also when you go the grocery store and that continues to turn to jumble into other parts of life and you're already seeing when you go and you look
8:35 pm
at the price of milk bread every day household items you've already seen those go up those dollars every week add up at the same time people are losing their jobs it's like we're in a hamster wheel right now so you know when we're talking about gas prices that's what i want to have you on for you know there's been a real challenge these past few for years trump was wanting to make america and asia dependent but obviously we have to care about the environment now you have the by the mistress taking on a whole new new role there you know they're wanting to actually go back to how it was underneath obama that being said i think it's more cost effective to have oil produced here locally at home or to import from overseas there's a lot because it's not just literally just taking it out of the ground and putting it in your car there's a lot more that goes into it. well in my opinion and its previous experience of course using the oil that we have here is save money you know and it's helps everybody especially my industry and everybody else at the troubles and that's the
8:36 pm
thing and that's when you look at it obviously it obviously gets more people on the road but these new regulations that are being interested in this not just the trucking industry of the various industries are all under the umbrella of climate change and obviously taking care of them vironment are there any on the trucking industry specifically and his ass and what is the result does it actually help the environment as the goal is to be. well let me bring this up yeah they're trying to transportation is very heavily regulated especially with the e.p.a. every year when the seasons 2008 they came up with particular filters on diesel equipment to help it with with the smoke and the particulars going in the air recently spec through the engine which is great for the environment but when they implement this technology wasn't really tested and what was happening is we're on the road we're astley breaking down having shutdowns engine failure is blowing up engines because the technology wasn't ready yes it's gotten better now but it still
8:37 pm
needs a lot of. tweaking in my opinion because we're still working on the road and we've taken the road these costs you know these are additional costs are coming to us to keep them by and clean you know i support you know keeping them clean but we have to do it because they you know it works for everybody not not just a fax business is because somebody decided hey we've got to do this as soon as possible ok we're talking about coffee talk about you know efficiency and cost is there a point when gas is too expensive when a game gets too much it just doesn't make fit for good to be transported via vehicle anymore and they look to other ways of transportation which actually might not be as effective or as efficient getting to the product to the consumer quick enough. so the other way of transferring product from product is going over the rail but the problem of the rail the rail is also overwhelmed right now with. with product everybody's you know using as a backup plan or as
8:38 pm
a primary plan and there are the traffic and rail is usually 2 or 3 times worse and was in school whether that happens for the trucks freezing and houston or all over the country the real most shut down and you can get product anywhere so it's. the real you can choose the real or you can choose freedom both bowls or free is very costly and the real is not the solution because it's even slower and longer. and i like that and obviously getting it off the ground immediately when you're trying to get it to act still even if you did rail would have to have a vehicle to take it from the railway station to the grocery store themselves and that for any part that we're dealing with little things like that logistics which actually can make such a difference on the side of you know i was going to say thank you because well so often we forget to say thank you to those that say goodbye to their families for long periods of times just to supply the needs of our own here in america and around the world so i want to thank you and your drivers and i hope you guys
8:39 pm
continue to stay safe and hopefully we'll be able to work out this gas situation soon so your group report thank you. now there's a reoccurring story that we just keep hearing it needs to be addressed as a social media platforms are continuously changing the world for their users and this happens with little or no advance notice it's actually very frustrating accusations of bias censorship and even pushing one agenda over another seems to be happened consistently these days so why are there so many different standards for what is and isn't allowed on social media platforms help us understand as media and legal analyst lionel lionel thank you so much for joining us on this issue because you're very active on social media as i know at times i've never been kicked off or a per se censored maybe you have the problem is not just don't know the rules keep changing so you know is this something that needs to be addressed via legislation is this is something that the government should get involved in. well 1st of all if you have been kicked off or demonetized or shot
8:40 pm
a band you're not doing something right if you remember you only take flak when you're over the target so if you're saying something correct remember the only ban you for saying something that's true never something that's false but what they'll do is one of the reasons why they'll tell you why you're being banned for example is that you are being you're providing this information let me ask you this question and this is the most important it comes down to the government actually passing the legislation now legislation sign a pen can reassign genders it mandate masks it can do anything and one of the things we have to do scotty is to we have to understand that these devices that we use are critical to commerce business social speaking communicating so they're not just this cute little quaint social media toy let me ask you this question whatever this comes up this argument comes up. without fail these are private
8:41 pm
organizations private concerns private companies twitter can do what it once facebook can do what it wants look if you don't like facebook nobody's making you good histories books facebook is free or whatever it is years ago they tried this scottie when it came to civil rights when they told black folks you can't come into this restaurant you can use this restroom you can sort of this counter and when they said you can't do this one of the business owners say it's ours we can decide whatever we want if you don't like this restaurant go down the street go someplace else well as we say in the south that dog don't hunt and the passed legislation which made these public accommodations have rules it's cloudy that's what we have to do now to recognize that these platforms are in effect public communication accommodations you know atlanta that's actually a really interesting take on i haven't actually thought of because i was one of
8:42 pm
those who was a jew it's a private company you don't like it go start your own you don't have to be on twitter you don't have to be on facebook but you're right when you look back in the past of society there have been times that said you know private citizen you can do what you want but it wasn't right and in this situation you know this is i think that that actually good take on it that not many people are looking at this does become a way of communication it's not just about updating your status there's a lot more these days that go into it but then that brings the question do we really want a government and i say one government the federal government getting involved we're seeing it's happening over in australia right now other governments are saying you know i had social media you want to do this right and we're going to get more involved in your daily life because it's obvious you're involved in ours you know if the legislation even legally possible right now to address the idea that if you look at a band to do monetize or limited. absolutely listen i want and i think we want the government to come in and say let people speak back off remember one of the best things you can do like with life if you don't like something don't
8:43 pm
watch it but one of the things also was a consider scotty to look at these as utilities i ask this question all the time what if you were talking to somebody let's say your family or your friend and all the sudden your phone went dead and your carrier said you were providing misinformation or you're saying something is pro trump or ad buy or whatever you wouldn't you were you would you you would be so livid you could say you can't tell me what i can and can't say on a phone but let me ask you if that's true then why does twitter tell you you can't mention hydroxy chloroquine and by the way i've got to mention this before we run out of time there are parents right now and children trying to get obscene materials off of various social media platforms and they are met with the by a deaf ear they're not being spoken to they're not being addressed and whenever they say listen you're telling me that you're going to monetise me if i say
8:44 pm
something let's say were i god forbid were to question the last election but you allow images of children yes now you see here that want to explain that one to me because i can't i don't understand it and that's going on right now because when kids find themselves on the phone and they submit a photo to somebody that they think is a friend or somebody appear and it's some 45 year old guy who just saw that image try getting that off. you can't they won't talk to you but if you dare say something remember people were knocked off because the mage and i proudly call rep women and this idea that we as american citizens cannot contest an election what if they told thurgood marshall years ago listen you better stop going to court because we've already answered this segregation is you know it's american to keep fighting
8:45 pm
so this is only done by legislation now and that's going to be the call for it who actually is going to be able to do it because we are getting a big tag has some pretty big dollars up on capitol hill in their booth saying that everything which i think it we have learned it back in 2008 the big tech can help win elections or help you lose elections as in they have the last one not getting the word out in the question and you know once again it's kind of like i don't know if i have more hope what do you think are good have a better chance of getting term limits or monitoring big tech where do you think we have a better chance of getting some sort of legislation out of line oh well i think you know you know we never people say you have automatic term limits built in by not voting for that question i think term limits are almost basically presumed. it's important that big cat be told what to do because remember we're granting them this right this is you've been around long enough perhaps maybe not but you remember that when you have
8:46 pm
a television station you use these are the airwaves that basically the government allows you and i know this is different it's a completely different but but the idea that they can remain unfettered by any regulation whatsoever when it impinges upon your free speech as an american we will see how that goes on american that's interesting that that term can even be used right now the social media i don't like always thanks for the lovely discussion thank you so much. now when we return officials within the department of homeland security are warning the biden administration of a border crisis in the making this is president biden campaigned on brea uniting families but we'll get to that and more when you return with our panel. during the vietnam war. it was a secret war. and for years the american people did not know. how much.

in the department of homeland security are warning the by the administration of a border crisis in the making now this is president biden campaigned on reuniting families some are asking what costs would take at a time when taxpayers are already maxed out or to course want to toss this week takes a look at immigration changes in the works. the binding administration saying that expecting an influx of children migrants at the border without their parents officials say they expect a whopping 117000 children at the us mexico border this year has reportedly more than these 68000 children arriving in 2014 and more than the 80000 who arrived in 2019 department of homeland security has advised the administration to not send children south of the border but there are issues surrounding the new policies when i started 27 days ago i learned that we did not have the facilities available who

are equipped to administer the humanitarian laws that our congress passed 2 years ago the border patrol is not only a capacity for holding minors in custody now according to a new investigation more than 6 percent of migrants are showing up positive for covert 19 and according to the reports and bus drivers cannot stop those who are positive from traveling to their final destination within the states so now while d.h. s. is saying to not deport children they are asking for individuals to wait and postpone their journey to the u.s. if they come if families come if single adults come to the border we are obligated to in the service of public health including to the health of the very people who are thinking of coming. to impose the travel restrictions under the c.d.c.'s title 42 with the authorities and return them. to mexico but the

smuggling continues early tuesday a fatal crash happened near the us mexico border roughly 125 miles east of san diego although it is are still investigating the cause many are questioning why 25 people were packed into an s.u.v. a vehicle built only hold 8 people safely 12 people died in the accident when the s.u.v. it crashed into a semi truck another person reportedly died at the hospital officials said they did not know if the s.t.b. was carrying. farm workers or migrants crossing illegally since taking office biden has allowed health and human services to pay for any minor slight to their sponsor or family by way of taxpayer dollars while the minor remains in the u.s. it can take years for an immigration judge to grant them status to remain in the country or to be deported reporting for needs these houston texas suites r t o o i love live t.v. so to give us the one a t.v. view of what is going on at the border we bring in political comedy called columnist and editorial director of reactionary times well leo rivera thank you so
8:52 pm
much for joining us on this that you don't withdraw your study well i want to start by talking about where the biggest concerns are these unaccompanied minors who are coming over the border you know both of us know the struggles of leaving our children in my cases for a few days for your case it's a few weeks because we need to go to work and pay the bills it's miserable it's horrible so i cannot imagine what these parents are going through when they actually think of sitting their children to another country you know i have to ask you when you talk about the motivation why do you feel like there's more coming over now under president biden than what we saw tony's president trump. ok well i can give you other 2 different points of consideration here with this 1st off you want to have your kids grow up in what i consider to be the greatest country in history of the world you know and i'm not talking about republican america or democratic america i'm just talking about the united states of america and you know
8:53 pm
even joe biden's america which is you know obviously i'm not a fan of this policies but america's a great place to raise your children so that's really what the motivation has always been now for the people i also have to consider the human element right now the conditions in some of those countries in central america is very difficult you've got the cartels running things it's very violent it's very it's a lot of corruption it's a it's the kind of place where if you're a good decent catholic you know mexican or central america take that risk because i think the alternative of staying there is very difficult now i look at immigration very black and white you know i got very upset when donald trump would get attacked for having the audacity of trying to do what the rest of the world does which is to enforce their borders you know he was called as you know phobe in all this other kind of stuff which is so he absolutely ridiculous but now the 2nd part of your question why is it spiking now it's hiking because joe biden is running around
8:54 pm
putting it out there that america is going to legalize $11000000.00 illegal residents so if the russians are there we're going to be a lot of people coming in trying to sneak in trying to be part of that 11000000 that of ventura gets a passport to citizens well and that's a thing where right now we're talking about a $1.00 trillion dollar bill that's about to pass just for code relief alone we are trillions of dollars and debt here in the united states there's now an estimation of our 117000 unaccompanied minors that will cross the border they share major expenses in taking care of those miners and let me tell you that they're not going straight to beverly hills or to the upper. seaside in new york they're actually continue to go in these committees that are already stretched to resources should there be any more of an outcry from those even specially those elected officials of those cities think that's what we can take care of we can even take care of the citizens that we have right now whether we're talking about education and health care so why isn't that causing calling more people to say listen we we love you but
8:55 pm
we need to take care of our citizens 1st why are we not seeing some of those outcries from those communities already stretched on resources. you know i can answer that i think that probably has something to do with the way that the media attacks you know attack president from for all these years for having the you know being an american 1st president and calling these things out for what they are i mean i think that people are kind of ashamed or bullied into just being like although we have to do these do do all this stuff these are you know our 1st world problems as americans and you know what do even if it. does permits of their own children i think it's ridiculous quite frankly i mean i can only imagine what it must be like now in some of these communities i went to public school elementary school in the inner city and i remember being in 8th grade there were 36 kids in my 8th grade class with one teacher and that was how many tens of millions of probably illegal immigrants ago so i could only imagine how bad you know and how can we
8:56 pm
afford it you know the other very surprising an issue that's just come out today as have been confirmed border patrol released 108 illegal immigrants who tested positive into the public at texas officials came out and said they don't have any authority to prevent those migrants who test positive to traveling to other parts the country in fact they don't and they're doing it just on good faith that they will return for their actual hearing you know i love it when i can't go anywhere here in washington d.c. until i corentin to get a negative test on a p.c.r. test or i'm going to face major finds is this fair to american citizens right now that we're having to live under these restrictions when those who come here illegally aren't even having to abide by them. it's absolutely ridiculous scotty has 2 sets of standards it's rewarding lawlessness i mean that i don't always believe that there was a whole oxymoron the law abiding illegal immigrant i mean you're pretty much breaking the law from the moment you step out american soil you know illegally so i don't know why we're treating these people in this manner i think it's ridiculous i
8:57 pm
think that obviously i think the big set up your now that it's you know they have to legislative control the democrats have the upper and lower chamber and they have the white house and then you know our president obama kind of set precedent previously with granting legalization you know the doctor act that was something that you know i always thought was unconstitutional but the precedent was already set so he's going to try to do everything he can through executive plus you know in concert with having total control of the legislature you know they're going to get some things done here they're going to get they're going to get themselves are 11000000 democratic voters eventual you know they're all's well wealthy about that and here throat approach go yes say there is a van crash and california that actually killed 13 people reminded have been human smuggling business how successful unfortunately that it is and how dangerous it is what is the best way to think to put these operations out of business and why was
8:58 pm
that not more of a focus and a trap and we have a few seconds left but i want to answer this. well you know what the answer is what's wrong who's trying to build a wall build a toll i mean listen presidents from all for the democrats and this is what we've got such me about this issue to no end you offer other democrats off you so let's just listen i'll go ahead and legalize 1800000 illegal residents that's the 600000 you merced or the 800012 plus almost why are her for all funding for the border what i said i don't want to cut you off we could talk about that but you're right legislation has done this thank you for joining us and that is offered a show follow me on twitter make sure you download the part would actually add we'll see you back here tomorrow. to.
