10:33 pm
with us as the executive producer creator star of tru t.v.'s impractical jokers hilarious and impractical jokers get this 9th season folks that's infinity in television you can see episodes on thursday at 10 pm on tru t.v. joe how are you my friend i'm good dennis are you with thanks for having me medicine a surreal that's nice to be. listen i think i had a 9 year i've had a lot of shows shot for money man and i think i had a 9 year on our h.b.o. it i. would say oh you get laser no you don't it's so nice for your create to be not to have to figure out the next day all the time i've done the long run how are you feeling it over there. yeah same deal i mean it's really fun to be doing the show and find it way season to come up with something new we start each season with like you know a 6 week pre-production theory where we're like ok what do we want to try this
10:34 pm
season and stuff and we always find some really fun things just to mess with each other with. less and that was an interesting thing it was like waiting for godot to sort of when you the hand shake that didn't stop fascinated me on just a funny goofy level and also like an exorcist. always think what if what if you're in an earthquake in l.a. and you're scared for the 1st 10 minutes and then it's 10 days and you get well less than it's 10 years and that becomes your day if that's. the never ending and straight maybe laugh out loud is that what you guys just get together and kick ideas like that are out yet some of them are simple and just we base it on like social awkwardness like a hug that never ends or where you know just get real close at all to people and then the other ones are even bigger like you know we think about like our what if we put sound the zombie apocalypse the punisher and we staged this huge zombie apocalypse to scare the living hell out of self so it's
10:35 pm
a runs the gamut for sure. i can think you brothers at your lockers at mun senior fellow high probably laughing you're one of the one a cool trip to have you and some cronies from that age now with a budget and 9 season run vehicle the people love the show up out every way it's a beautiful deal of the cards. yeah we are fortunate for sure man it's really been great we you know we tried as you know county in new york we tried and failed for 16 years until we finally found something that worked you know we're a 16 year overnight success so it was really interesting to be able to get to do it together and you know you have each of those lean on when times are good and bad so it's really really been fortunate for sure. what do you do in any of the clubs there lucian at the strip or anything or are you in lex mocks the others i'm trying to black well. yeah we did black occupy our own ship was at the producer's club and stuff like that you know these little black boxes that your brand and we put up up
10:36 pm
to our improv shows and we were going to sketch comedy did a little traveling with sketch shows like the miami sketch vessel sam processional sketch breasts and then when we went to the internet jump you know we started producing stuff for like my space back in the day and that's were really in our stride was when people got to see us more than 50 people the time at this little theater and my space now looks like chiseling names into the roman coliseum for god's sakes it's so funny to think of the new new thing comes around every every lunar cycle it seems yet now but when it's not my space flight but she's what my space let's so that i have a long time what we're talking about an 18 year banging your head against the law in new york was it with a group called the tender lines during the scene yeah that was a tender ones it's an upright citizens brigade sort of deal or what is it guess it's it was our improv troupe that we that we made and we start performing a prop comedy and that's our roots our roots are there are in our in improv and
10:37 pm
sketch comedy so we did the improv like a live show for a long time doing like different types of improv comedy around the new york you know improv scene back then and it it was you know you have your great shows and that you know a packed house of 100 people show up at the new celibacy and then you have your shows that you people we literally perform one show for 2 people 2 people that show up to the show in this 4 of us on stage we outnumbered them so it's got interested where we dislike suggestion from the old hits like what do you got that we don't like that what about you know why go i used to live in 17th and 3rd when i 1st started getting shot at the strip i had to take the subway from union square they give me shots at 2 30 in the morning folks just going in to union square and feel like it's going to break out in the day but not an american werewolf in lower manhattan is grim. that in those tunnels i go up i want to god you know when i reach a tank and lucian are sitting on the bar there they are as tank and pulls up in the munster mobility some of the richest guy on planet and i can see they test you to see if you'll show up at 230 to do this team can be considered for better spots so
10:38 pm
i go up a pale aegis i go and there's one cat big brother right in the front of the room he's eating something i got to go do my act and they want to see if you'll just say i refuse to do this and they think oh he does want to play ball so i got my start doing i think guys give me a couple labs and he's also easily and i go for this is too weird for me can you play along with something i take his steak knife you love this job i back out into the bar area where they're also in i've got the knife inverted so it's not. a kill the audience. screams as you run and i'm telling you brother the next day my brand was amplified there people say least the earl and with a little so i did as the night's yeah i mean like that's the best not live comedy tour like that was performing live is how we started and you know to go to t.v. and just have to like wait for to get there editing didn't see it on t.v.
10:39 pm
then the adolescent stuff so we were happy we were able to get our lives torgau in because we got back from the fans and that's that's the best like you never know what's going to add my god into i got into a sumo wrestling match in a large black gentleman in new orleans because he yelled from the stage is like my belly is bigger than yours and i said i'll take you on and he stood up and he was just like quarter proud guy you know or let's have a british or already charge the stage like you was like i was like we got this and i took my girl i did the below do our lives we're just doing this don't we bump it big on stage and it's just stuff like that at that on. tough to get that together and zoom the souls only listen if i wanted to be in the brady bunch and shoot the opening credits i teleport back and b n b davis's the maid i'm not going to get on zone and start though a comedy for god's sakes comedy smart enough if you're not at least look at out really well too. and when i say touch people it doesn't always go well but. there are men and you know yak that go horribly wrong is the juice you need not
10:40 pm
live energy man it's definitely time for sure now when you guys were 1st learning to improv i'm trying to think i know every guy guy to talk to comes from chicago was under you know the totally just del close and then those cats out of the groundlings phil and john tell me about who was the jinn self-taught or who was the give black in new york. mar i actually started the georgetown players at georgetown university studied under del i'm losin sharna so he brought that back to new york after college like we went our separate ways it was only time we were really together we went to different colleges i was on long island he was into he wanted georgetown south with the st john's and q didn't go and look you were all just like doing our own thing and he came back as ok i want to try and improv we didn't profit in high school he's going to try to do one here in new york us one day when we practiced for like 56 months before we got on stage in my mom's basement in staten island and then we finally gave it a shot and it was just fun from the get go. now break down the roster for the
10:41 pm
people i know because i dig the show but tell you tell you about dartanion and aramis and they. say you have you know you have america's sweethearts alcan at least one of our guys and then we have the mastermind the mess of my james mari we have days where we have the every man brian cuchulainn and then myself some say the brains behind the operation some say the heart throb i don't know i'll leave it up to your dentist i don't know i want to bill me but. i've got gaps you've got gaps we fill gaps i look at the right this is new to feel they have this is what those guys loop and pass rush the quarterback everybody. it's a very strong lot of folks in the show we're talking about obviously is the 9th season impractical jokers and you can see it thursday's 10 pm on tru t.v. you know i have to say some of the things are so folks are practical jokes and i
10:42 pm
don't screw the poached but if you see these guys together they might be there might be something happening and as i get more if a man president what new york are starting the notice of but we do live in fractious times and i'm wondering. how do people receive the being on the butt end of that are are you surprised by their demeanor and tell me about the folks who are you know. the people that week sucked up into our world to be the good thing about our show is that like when we did our version of it was like ok what do you want to do of our version of a show like this and it was that we're going to be the butt of our own joke so it's not that thing where it's like ha ha gotcha at the end of it if we're doing that when i travel mad if we're doing that we're doing it wrong it really is just to see how much will embarrass ourselves at the expense account in front of like the strangers and if you can replay along but i've noticed especially like you know about new york you new york i'm biased you know gruff and tough and you know i got time for you i find it honestly complete opposite i feel like new yorkers are down for whatever they do public is the secret sauce of the show that is totally
10:43 pm
surprised me you know we've had held secret conferences like in bathrooms with people that they've come with us we got to talk to for a minute. and like you know these people like help you find your mother like it's crazy when people do it for us in the show so i really enjoyed it. that's like ireland my employ up to a place with a true friend say where can i get my gas experience are you 3 dates there now have a dinner. date or crop from the. geniality absolutely blows your mind and i did that by that in manhattan there was a cat on the upper west side named the screamer who would come up behind you at a rip for corner red light just scream in your ear so there are nuts there but there were other people who not only got it but just thought hey i didn't come to new york to leave the omaha nebraska life i'm going to go with some of the weirdness so i did find people in new york and wanted to play a little yeah i think that new york's great too because people have opinions for
10:44 pm
sure here and like you get everybody all walks of life like the summer people coming through new york and you know it is 8000000 people at half the people don't know the show that's 4000000 people were playing what was somewhat like that and it's definitely the right playground. well the show keeps getting much better going to blow your cover completely brother so you've got to you've got to tread water there ain't no. better i could camp rather. there you go i want to talk about misery and that's why you have i i'll be honest impractical jokers big i don't know this as much although i read the promise it's a star we're talking to joe got to tell me there's a poly somewhere in the family tree there has to be an impractical jokers as i said in its 9th season and that's thursday's 10 pm tru t.v. back more joe got it right up to this dennis miller plus what.
10:45 pm
a government that's been able to print money willy nilly without. without any accountability and whatsoever you need some barca reaction to that used to be in the form of the bond market. that would call my gosh they're printing to much money we're going to drop bonds or of the gold bugs would say oh my god you know gold's going to go higher because the government's out of control but both of those have been euthanized we don't have bond vigilantes or gold anymore but it is a more coin is confiscated and nobody is going to put big coin what to do because you know what this money printing is out of control and we're going to. be or tactics that can be used to get innocent people to confess to crimes they didn't commit i don't even think people in the u.s.
10:46 pm
really get that the police are allowed to lie to the person who falsely fast actually came to believe the lie that they were told about their own behavior once a false confession is taken the case is closed nobody really can tell the difference between a good confession and one that isn't. hey folks welcome back to dennis miller plus one talking to a good guy always like talking shop with fellow comedians joe gotto executive producer creator star of tru t.v.'s impractical jokers 9 season run folks comedy t.v. that's gunsmoke and you can see new episodes thursdays 10 pm on tru t.v. there's another show on t.b.s. and joe's involved now i read the premises and it's a cool one he'll explain but i'm not here i don't want to fake with a guy who knows i'd be fake tell me that. i would love your cave if you like he was
10:47 pm
my favorite part about the mystery. i looked at the earth something. that. hurt her feel of the shared seconds. that's a that's a project we got pulled into through t.b.s. and it's a game show basically where we are considered areas to contestants that are trying to rate miserable of events on a scale of 0 to 100 for a to win you know $30000.00 so it's it's a fun game show we basically get up there and debate like what would be worse in a situation and they have like new stories and clips from real things that have happened so the it's sad because the world captured in a game show. isn't like bed and work a schedule of billy and chris where they would sit on s n l and talk about bad things that could happen them to remember that to get just yeah 100 percent that that they would they would be a part of the misery index. who hit the ball harder for
10:48 pm
a year saturday the 1000000 chris though he was doing like maybe data but he was doing 10 things a week and they were all you know sometimes the show was flaming around him but he had chris and that sketch my god absolutely killed me now listen guys with your brand i'm surprised are you still it's a i would want to hatch all my own stuff because you guys are very creative together and i'd want to protect the quartet and people know you do funny stuff house i can ask you that i'll put you in a bind but i don't want to. just say. sometimes you're on a thing like t.b.s. and granted it's a cooler mother ship the bill paley c.b.s. or something but still you've got bosses they're uptight how of you from the label they let you roll over there yeah i mean the. way the game show works because a game show rules that we can't see any of the clips beforehand so it's true just commentary improv say anything and i'll just keep what you want of course we say
10:49 pm
some stuff that don't make that doesn't make the cut which is probably good but for the most part it's a good fit for us because it's just debating stupidity and that's part of our friendship you know it's guys as 4 guys that know each other for so long so i think it's not really that bad they give us free reign over there we've been with that family a long time so it's it's pretty nice. you're a man and fool joe got out signs like he got it all going and i listen not much speaks to me better about a person then when they're a dog i got animals in general but i still haven't forgiven michael berg i'm sorry i know i seem like t.v. . i just can't i wouldn't think more but when i read the dogs names when you got to lay this out for the people and the deer hounds to a past but tell me dogs that swiped me. i'm a dog father known affectionately i've heard of adopting and i my wife gets the pick the bones and i get the name of them and i've gone through i've dedicated my
10:50 pm
journey to name them after italian desserts or desserts in general so i have can ollie scotty i have knowing right now so right now i have good no lee but scotty tried to throw small mony napoleon panna cotta get not insurable i'm sure if a lot of that's my night and we have 3 that have passed i had separately i had no lee and i had machine which is an italian deserve but that dog was such such a little mess that you know what old italian say my grandmother used to say what you saw somebody that looked all jacked up she liked machine look at the one so that was that was the one caviar. with that with that naming sequence you must to love the big night that movie i'm wondering who makes the best ill temper out on staten island brothers this summer to get work at a restaurant a fly got there's got to be so you kills that rich but you got to stop by the talk
10:51 pm
of pacers got to stop by royal crown on high level of on telling joe gatto such a. well where you yell my friend. all adopted and you know 'd i have the odd thing where i had to rescue dog and then 2 days any tells me want to wants to go and on the road look for his birth parents i'm working on we're trying to get our barn in the 3rd but. tell me the best place people can go because there's rackets everywhere you want to adopt a dog there are heartbreaking dogs who are cool just looking for some love where do people go that i can trust yeah i mean this is all i've been pretty fortunate with i worked at basically 6 of them out here in new york to the big ones really are animal haven which i love the new york a.c.c. they do a great job of trying to save all the animals out here and then a north shore animal league which i'm sure you're aware of to there begin in new york but i guess i would plug i would say go to at gatto pups that's my instagram where it tells you all my adopt places that i refer for adoption so yeah i think
10:52 pm
yes i'm going to be on our other books there is a dog book because it will be released when i was released a little late last august it sounds like home project when listen this is the weirdest freakin thing all of a sudden. having person kidnapped by send kill in the symbionese liberation army you can't go outside for you know you're looking for projects that you never got around to. other books yeah that's that's what happened i was like i've always done photography and loved it and so i took all the pictures myself and then i wrote stories about my childhood it's called the dogfather my love of dogs deserts a growing. italian and it's basic just tells me a little bit about me and a little bit deeper dive into was funded there really was i'm not handy at home so i could like try to build a closet i've seen all these things on the internet and what guys like oh i read that my pantry they make us like that i get you that's tough i'll write something.
10:53 pm
joe got a with us producer creator star of tru t.v.'s impractical jokers thursdays 10 pm over there on tru t.v. and i see a sidebar note here and. some tributary off the mothership of impractical jokers but what is impractical jokers dinner party. so that was our show that we did as an answer to get shut down for for the pandemic so when we got shut down we were started season 9 that we had to shut down and we were like what kind of show can we do to get back in the homes of everybody and our version we actually had dinner together the 4 of us we had seen each other we had dinner over zoom and we were laughing and our asses off and we were like this could actually be a show so we pitched it to the network and we had a round of we did a full season of impractical jokers dinner party where we sat down over xoom surprise each other with stuff talked to had dinner and then we brought on guests and it was really really fun. you know what i it's weird as much as i love the show i am staying away from things that are been macgyver because of the coven because
10:54 pm
the coven depresses me enough yet you know i just need some time off from watching those split screens lag granted i'm on one now i get it not being an idiot not of the nightmare only that's not come up but i am telling you watching us modulator life down into these little screens where i'm watching gone with the wind on an i phone or something it just doesn't work for me anymore so that's why i yet have to this one as much as the the mothership show you know when i used to go out when i 1st moved to new york i'm a history buff i used to go out to staten island i wanted to ride the ferry to begin with just because it seemed like a cool thing and i had read a book about cornelius vanderbilt you know to go ahead and that area there yes i came out and i spent a day there i walked around i went to somewhere i remember taking a cab and i found it beautifully pastoral in some way and then there were some mean streets to me and yet you make the wrong turn out there at city and try to think
10:55 pm
you 4 guys growing out where you are is or where you basically good kids in corrigible sue would use you murdered to fuse conceptually weird situations yeah i definitely use you are for for that i grew up in not the nicest neighborhood i grew up in a sparkle member which is underneath the gospels bridge on the way to jersey over there that's where i lived on the other side of the island from the guys and so it was definitely i definitely used humor a lot to you know i couldn't fight i was good with words. try to use humor to diffuse every situation and we got one fight once grown up and i lost i got my nose broke. so i'm all with one upstart trying to make a comeback maybe we'll see. part of your charm now man it's like the great scene in jimmy brooks is broadcast news where the beginning the kid a stop and the hell out of then young albert brooks. said albert brooks is like rapier wit that he's getting is that he looks up to get is all but it is
10:56 pm
a guess what the certs you're never going to make more than 18000 foot see you. and all the other kids look at the kid to go 18 grand benny too bad if. everything is subjective my friend now lets up in the future is there i saw an article today this is so weird to me i guess they're trying to say that this is just random or but coronavirus coppa nineteen's dropping 44 percent hospitalizations down that seems getting out there might have been something about january 20th let's say but. there i think the roads are going to open up again how far out the guys have to put feelers in are they using any of these improv festivals back against sketch sketch festivals yeah they're doing i mean some people try to make like you said try to make the move to like virtual events which of having some of them there are some that are due in smaller you know gathering once is that and what state they're in you know it's all depends on where you're at
10:57 pm
but here in new york we're able to go back to filming we're actually back to filming season i know we're just fall protocols we won't you won't see the stuff of us like going to like you know tavern people shoulders in like supermarkets like that's not going to happen anymore but like the focus group stuff the one on one stuff where we get people tested all that stuff still works so. promise me you'll do a prank where somebody is dressed in a complete body mask and the only part on it that's cut out is from here to here i like it and like it. but. i just. go forth and prosper with brother nice the beta executive producer creator star along with 3 of his high school credits it's a nice story tru t.v.'s impractical jokers and it's in its 9th season you know it you'll love it you can see episodes on thursday at 10 pm on tru t.v. good to meet your brother your the dog thing touches me your good hearted man and looked down the road i appreciate your thank you dennis. i don't got out of this
10:58 pm
but dennis miller plus what. some can fall for a middle class to homeless overnight muslim are very hardworking people who want to get ahead that have either have some some health issues or have some of it out of trick about luck a full time job won't always pay for a place to live and missing just a month's rent can get you a victim to gunpoint if anything bad happens to any thing that just throws your budget off slightly. you better catch up real quick or you're going to have a judgment of possession against you and get addicted anyone that's homeless is history like garbage people look at you like a monster or someone bad or you chose to be there most of the time it's not the case see how it is to be pull in the world's richest country.

one of the worst mass shootings in america was in less vegas in 2017 the tragedy exposed a little of the real last vegas where many say elected officials are controlled by could see you know the dangers shooting reveal where d l v m p d really is and now it's part of the standard sheen most of the american public barely remembers that happens just shows you the power of money in las vegas the powerful showed that true colors when the pandemic hit the most contagious contagion that we've seen in decades and then you have a mayor who doesn't care so here's care i goodman offering the lives of the vegas residents to the control group to the shiny facades conceal a deep indifference to the people could have been saved if they were to take an action absolutely keep the registering and keep the slot machines doing in vegas is a money machine it's a huge cash register that is ran by people. i don't care about people's lives being
