2:32 am
create to be not to have to figure out the next day all the time i've done the long run how are you feeling it over there. yeah same deal i mean it's really fun to be doing the show and find it way season to come up with something new we start each season with like you know a 6 week pre-production theory where we're like ok what do we want to try the season and stuff and we always find some really fun things just to mess with each other with. less and that was an interesting thing it was like waiting for godot to solve the you know when you the hand shake that didn't stop fascinated me on just a funny goofy level and also like an exorcist. i get stuck always think what if what if you're in an earthquake in l.a. and you're scared the 1st 10 minutes and then it's 10 days and you get well less than it's 10 years and that becomes your day if that's. the big never ending and
2:33 am
straight maybe laugh out loud is that what you guys just get together and kick ideas like that are out yet some of them are simple and just we base it on like social awkwardness like a hug that never ends or where you know just get real close to talk to people and then the other ones are even bigger like you know we think about like our what if we put sound the zombie apocalypse the punisher and we staged this huge zombie apocalypse to scare the living hell out of self so it's a runs the gamut for sure. i can think you brothers at your lockers at mun senior fellow high probably laughing you're $1.00 to $1.00 a cool trip to have you and some cronies from that age now with a budget and 9 season run vehicle the people love the show up out every way it's a beautiful deal of the cards. yeah we are fortunate for sure man it's really been great we know we tried as you know county in new york we tried and failed for 16 years until we finally found something that worked you know where a 16 year overnight success so it was really interesting to be able to get to do it
2:34 am
together and you know you have each of those we know and when times are good and bad so it's really really been fortunate for sure. what do you do in any of the clubs there lucian at the strip or anything or are you in lex box yet or is i'm trying to black well. yeah we did black black actually prep and i'm sure those are the producers club and stuff like that you know these little black boxes that your brand and we put up up to our improv shows and we were going to sketch comedy did a little traveling with sketch shows like the miami sketch vessel sam processional sketch vests and then when we went to the internet jump you know we started producing stuff for like my space back in the day and that's were really in our stride was when people got to see us more than 50 people the time at this little theater and my space now looks like chiseling names into the roman coliseum for god's sakes it's so funny to think of the new new thing comes around every every lunar cycle it seems yet now but when it's not my space flight but she's what my space let's so that i have a long time what we're talking about an 18 year banging your head against the law
2:35 am
in new york was it with a group called the tender lines during the scene yeah that was a tender ones it's an upright citizens brigade sort of deal or what is it guess it's it was our improv troupe that we that we made and we start performing a proper comedy and that's our roots our roots are there are in there are in improv and sketch comedy so we did the improv like a live show for a long time doing like different types of improv comedy around the new york you know improv scene back then and it it was you know you had your great shows and that you know a packed house of 100 people show up at the new celibacy and then you have your shows that you people we literally perform one show for 2 people 2 people that show up to the show in this 4 of us on stage we outnumbered them so it's got interested where we do just like suggestion from the old hits like what do you got that we don't like that what about you know why go i used to live in 17th and 3rd when i 1st started getting shot at the strip i had to take the subway from union square they give me shots at 2 30 in the morning folks just going in to union square and
2:36 am
feel like it's going to break out in the bay but not an american werewolf in lower manhattan is grim. that in those tunnels i go up i want to god you know when i reach a tank and lucian are sitting on the bar there they are as tank and pulls up in the munster mobility some of the richest guy on planet and i can see they test you to see if you'll show up at 230 to do this team can be considered for better spots so i go up a pale aegis i go in there's one cat big brother right in the front of the room he's eating something i got to go do my act and they want to see if you'll just say i refuse to do this and they think oh he does want to play ball so i got my start doing i think guys give me a couple labs and he's also easily and i go for this is too weird for me can you play along with something i take his steak knife you love this job i back out into the bar area where they're also in i've got the knife inverted so it's not. a kill the audience and. back out of the screen it was
2:37 am
run and i'm telling you brother the next day my brand was amplified there people say the least the early on with the little so i did as the night's yeah i mean like that's the best not live comedy tour like that was performing live is how we started and you know to go to t.v. and just have to like wafer to get through editing didn't see it on t.v. then the adolescent stuff so we were happy we were able to get our lives torgau in because we got back from the fans and that's that's the best like you never know what's going to add my god into i got into a sumo wrestling match in a large black and i'm in a new orleans because he yelled from the stage is like my belly is bigger than yours and i said i'll take you on and he stood up and he was just like quarter proud guy new orleans at the rate they're sure already charge the stage like you was like i was like we got this and i took my shirt all i did the below do our lives we're just doing this don't we got stage and it's just stuff like that at that on. tough to get that together and zoom the souls only listen if i wanted to be in the brady bunch and shoot the opening credits i teleport back and b n
2:38 am
b davis's the maid i'm not going to get on zone and start though a comedy for god's sakes comedy smart enough if you're not at least look at out really well to. and when i say touch people it doesn't always go well but. everyone you know yak that it horribly wrong is the juice you need not live energy man it's definitely time for sure now when you guys were 1st learning to improv i'm trying to think i know every guy the guy talked to comes from chicago was under you know the 2 the legion del close and then those cats out of the ground lines phil and john tell me about who was the gent self-taught or who was the give black in new york. maher i actually started the georgetown players at georgetown university studied under della most insurance so he brought that back to new york after college like we went our separate ways it was only time we were really together we went to different colleges i was on long island he was into he would have
2:39 am
georgetown south with the st johns and 2 didn't go and look you are all just like doing our own thing and he came back as ok i want to try and improv we didn't profit in high school he's going to try to do one here in new york us one day when we practiced for like 56 months before we got on stage in my mom's basement in staten island and then we finally gave it a shot and it was just fun from the get go. now break down the roster for the people i know because i dig the show tell yeah tell me about dartanion and aramis and they. say you have you know you have america's sweetheart sal can at least one of our guys and then we have the mastermind the mess of my james and mary we have days where we have the every man brian cuchulainn and then myself some say the brains behind the operation some say the heart throb i don't know i'll leave it up to your dentist i don't know i want to bill me but. i got gabs you got gaps we fill gaps i do it right this is new to feel they have this is what those guys loop and
2:40 am
pass rush the quarterback everybody. it's a very strong lot of folks in the show we're talking about obviously is the 9th season impractical jokers and you can see it thursday's 10 pm on tru t.v. you know i have to say some of the things are so folks are practical jokes and i don't screw the coach but if you see these guys together they might be there might be something happening and as i get more of a famous president what new york are starting the notice of but we do live in fractious times and i'm wondering. how do people receive the being on the butt end of that are are you surprised by their demeanor and tell me about the folks who are you know. the people that week sucked up into our world to be the good thing about our show is that like when we did our version of it was like ok what do we want to do with our version of a show like this and it was that we're going to be the butt of our own joke so it's not that thing where it's like ha ha gotcha at the end of it if we're doing that when i travel mad if we're doing that we're doing it wrong it really is just to see
2:41 am
how much will embarrass ourselves at the expense account in front of like these strangers and if we can replay along but i have noticed especially like you know about new york you new york i'm biased you know gruff and tough and you know i got onto you i find it honestly complete opposite i feel like new yorkers are down for whatever they do public is the secret sauce of the show is totally surprised me you know we've had held secret conferences like in bathrooms with people that they've come with us i got to talk to for a minute. and like you know these people like help you find your mother like it's crazy when people do it for us in the show so i really enjoyed it. that's like ireland man you pull up to a place with a true friend say where can i get my gas experience are you 3 dates there now have a dinner you know. 8 are crap from the. geniality absolutely blows your mind and i did that by that in manhattan there was a cat on the upper west side named the screamer who would come up behind you in
2:42 am
a rip for corner red light just scream in your ear so there are nuts there but there were other people who not only got it but just thought hey i didn't come to new york to lead the omaha nebraska life i'm going to go with some of the weirdness so i did find people in new york and wanted to play a little yeah i think that new york's great too because people have opinions for sure here and like you get everybody all walks of life like the summer people coming through new york and you know it is 8000000 people with half the people don't know the show that's 4000000 people were playing what was some it's like i did it it's definitely the right playground well the show keeps getting much better going to blow your cover completely brother so you've got to you've got to tread water there i've trained not. better i could get fatter. but there you go i want to talk about misery and that's when you have i i'll be honest impractical jokers big that i don't know this so as much as much although i read the promise it's a star ical we're talking to joe gotta tell me there's a polly somewhere in the family tree there has to be an impractical jokers as i
2:43 am
said in its 9th season and that's thursday's 10 pm tru t.v. back more joe got it right up to this dennis miller plus one. the financial survival today was all about money laundering 1st to visit this 3 different. is a good start well we have our 3 banks all set up here maybe something in your something in america something over the cayman islands or do we know all these banks are complicit in there we just have to say ok i'm ready to do some serious money laundering ok let's see how we did while we've got a nice laundry watch for max and for stacy oh beautiful jewelry.
2:44 am
again for max do you know what money you want to hire. watch kaiser of course. tactics that can be used to get innocent people to confess to crimes they didn't commit i don't even think people in the us really get that the police are allowed to lie to the person who falsely fast actually came to believe the lie that they were told about their own behavior once a false confession is taken the case is closed and nobody really can tell the difference between a good confession and one that isn't. the pandemic no certainly no blood is just blind to nationalities. has emerged we don't have a charity we don't have the facts in the whole world needs to be.
2:45 am
judged. come in a crisis sleep this time to time so we can do better we should know. everyone is contributing each in our own way but we also know that this crisis not go on forever the challenges created the response has been masked so many good people are helping us. it makes us feel very proud that we are in it together. hey folks welcome back to dennis miller plus one talking to a good guy always like talking shop with fellow comedians joe gotto executive
2:46 am
producer creator star of tru t.v.'s impractical jokers 9 season rock folks comedy t.v. that's gunsmoke and you can see new episodes thursdays 10 pm on tru t.v. there's another show on t.b.s. the joe's involved now i read the promise and it's a cool one he'll explain but i'm not here i don't want to fake with a guy who knows i'd be fake tell me about that. i would love your cave and you're like he's my favorite part about the mystery. i would add something. that. i heard. machete seconds. that's a that's a project we got pulled into through t.b.s. and it's a game show basically where we are considered the aries 2 contestants that are trying to rate miserable events on a scale of 0 to 100 for a to win you know $30000.00 so it's it's a fun game show we basically get up there and debate like what would be worse in
2:47 am
a situation and they have like new stories and clips from the real things that have happened so the it savvy to the world captured in a game show. isn't like beds and workers scheduled billy and chris where they would sit on s n l and talk about the things that could happen them to remember that yeah 100 percent that that they would they would be a part of the misery index. who hit the ball harder for a year saturday the 1000000 chris though he was doing like maybe data but he was doing 10 things a week and they were all you know sometimes the show was flaming around him but he had chris in the sketch my god absolutely killed me now listen guys with your brand i'm surprised are you still at the i would want to hatch all my own stuff because you guys are very creative together and i'd want to protect the quartet and people know you do funny stuff house i can ask you that i'll put you in
2:48 am
a bind but i don't want to get in the cabinet i'm just saying. sometimes you're on a thing like t.b.s. and granted it's a cooler mothership than bill paley c.b.s. or something but still you got musses their up tight how if you found the label they let you roll over there yeah i mean the. way the game show works because the games are rules is that we can't see any of the clips beforehand so it's true just commentary improv say anything and i'll just keep what you want of course we say some stuff that don't make that doesn't make the cut which is probably good but for the most part it's a good fit for us because it's just debating stupidity and that's part of our friendship you know it's guys as 4 guys that know each other for so long so i think it's not really that bad they give us free reign over there we've been with that family a long time so it's it's pretty nice. you're a man and fool joe got out signs like he got it all going and i listen not much just speaks to me better about a person then when they're a dog i thought of animals in general but i still haven't forgiven michael vick i'm
2:49 am
sorry i know i see him on t.v. . i just can't i wouldn't any more but when i read the dog's knaves when you got to lay this out for the people and the deer hounds who have passed but tell me dogs that swiped me. i'm a dog father known affectionately i've heard of adopting and i my wife gets the pick the dogs when i get the name and i've gone through i've dedicated my journey to name them after italian desserts or desserts in general so i have can ollie scotty i have knowing right now so right now i have good nollie but scotty tried to throw small mony napoleon panna cotta not insurable and sure if a lot of that's my night and then we have 3 that have passed i had separately i had no lee and i had machine which is an italian desert but that dog was such such a little mess that you know what old italian say my grandmother used to say what
2:50 am
you saw somebody that looked all jacked up she liked machine look at the one so that was that was the one caviar. with that with that naming sequence you must to love the big night that movie i'm wondering who makes the best ill temper out on staten island brothers this summer to give a restaurant a fly got there's got to be so you kills that rich but you've got to stop by the talk of papers you got to stop by royal crown on high level of on telling joe gatto such a. well where you go my friend. and all adopted and you know 'd i had the odd thing where i had a rescue dog and then 2 days any tells me want to wants to go and on the road look for his birth parents i'm working on we're trying to get our barn in the 3rd but. tell me the best place people can go because there's rackets everywhere you want to adopt a dog there are heartbreaking dogs who are cool just looking for some love where do
2:51 am
people go that i can trust yeah i mean there's all i've been pretty fortunate with i worked at basically 6 of them out here in new york to the big ones really are animal haven which i love the new york a.c.c. they do a great job of trying to save all the animals out here and then a north shore animal league which i'm sure you're aware of to there begin in new york but i guess i would plug i would say go to at ghetto pups that's my instagram where it tells you all my adopts places that i refer for adoption so yeah i think yes i'm going to be on our other books there is a dog book is it will be released when i was released a little late last august it sounds like home project when listen this is the weirdest freakin thing all of a sudden. having person kidnapped by send kill in the symbionese liberation army you can't go outside for god you know you're looking for projects that you never got around to. other books yeah that's that's what happened i was like i've always
2:52 am
done photography and loved it and so i took all the pictures myself and then i wrote stories about my childhood it's called the dogfather my love of dogs deserts . growing up italian and it's basic just tells me a little bit about me and a little bit deeper dive into was funded there really was i'm not handy at home so i could like try to build a closet i've seen all these things on the internet and what guys like oh i read that my tangerine they make us like that i get you that's like i'll write something . joe got a with us producer creator star of tru t.v.'s impractical jokers thursdays 10 pm over there on tru t.v. and i see a sidebar note here and. some tributary off the mothership of impractical jokers but what is impractical jokers dinner party. so that was our show that we did as an answer to get shut down for for the pandemic so when we got shut down we were started season 9 that we had to shut down and we were like what kind of show can we do to get back in the homes of everybody and our version we actually had dinner
2:53 am
together the 4 of us we had seen each other we had dinner over zoom and we were laughing and our asses off and we were like this could actually be a show so we pitched it to the network and we had a round of we did a full season of impractical jokers dinner party where we sat down over xoom surprise each other with stuff talked to had dinner and then we brought on guests and it was really really fun. you know when i it's weird as much as i love the show i am staying away from things that are been macgyver because of the coven because the coven depresses me enough yet you know i just i just need some time off from watching those split screens lagrima them online now i get it not being an idiot not to deny their own that's not come up but i am telling you watching us modulator life down into these little screens where i'm watching gone with the wind on an i phone or something it just doesn't work for me anymore so that's why i get it to this one as much as the the mothership show you know i used to go out when i 1st
2:54 am
moved to new york i'm a history buffs i used to go out to staten island i wanted to ride the ferry to begin with just because it seemed like a cool thing and i had read a book about cornelius vanderbilt you know to go ahead and that area there yes i came out and i spent a day there i walked around i went to somewhere i remember taking a cab and i found it beautifully pastoral in some way and then there were some mean streets to me and yet you make the wrong turn out there is character city and try to think you 4 guys growing out where you are is or where you basically good kids in corrigible sue would use you murdered to fuse conceptually weird situations. yeah i definitely use it for for that i grew up in not the nicest neighborhood i grew up in a sparkle member which is underneath the gospels bridge on the way to jersey over there that's where i lived on the other side of the island from the guys and so it was definitely i definitely used humor a lot too you know i couldn't fight i was good with words but we try to use humor
2:55 am
to diffuse every situation and we got one fight once grown up and i lost i got my nose broke and so on when one ups are trying to make a comeback maybe we'll see one part of your charm now man it's like that great scene in jimmy brooks's broadcast news where the beginning the kid a stop and a hell of a then young albert brooks had albert brooks is like rapier with that he's getting the looks of the guy is all but it is a guess what the circuits you're never going to make more than $18000.00 foot see. and all the other kids look at the kid to go 18 grand benny too bad is. everything is subjective my friend now let's up in the future is there i saw an article today this is so weird to me i guess they're trying to say that this is just random or but the coronavirus coppa nineteen's dropping 44 percent hospitalizations down that seems getting out there might have been something about
2:56 am
january 20th let's say but. there i think the roads are going to open up again how far out the guys have to put feelers in are they using any of these improv festivals back against sketch sketch festivals yeah they're doing i mean some people try to make like you said try to make the move to like virtual events which of having some of them there are some that are due when smaller you know gathering one says depend on what state they're in you know it's all depends on where you're at but here in new york we're able to go back to filming we're actually back to filming season diner we're just follow the protocols we won't you won't see the stuff of us like going to like you know to bring people shoulders in supermarkets like that's not going to happen anymore but like the focus group stuff the one on one stuff where we get people tested all that stuff still works so. promise me you'll do it prying quirt somebody is dressed in a complete body mask and the only part on it that's cut out it's from here and i don't like it i like it will be called a miller but it will call me to. go forth and prosper with brother joe got
2:57 am
a nice debate over executive producer creator star along with 3 of his high school credits it's nice story true t.b.s. impractical jokers and it's in its 9th season you know it you'll love it you can see episodes on thursday at 10 pm on tru t.v. good to meet your brother your dog thing touches me your good hearted man and we'll talk at it on the road i appreciate your thank you dennis all right got out of this but dennis miller plus one. of the financials along today was all about money laundering 1st to visit this campus it's a different. oh good this is a good start well we have our 3 banks all set up here maybe something in europe
2:58 am
something in america something overseas or the cayman islands or do all of these banks are complicit in their kleptocracy to decide to give mccomas a journey to do some serious moodle and ok let's see how we did while we get out and i still dream watch for max and for stacy old beautiful jewelry and how about. luxury on a bill from back to you know what money laundering is highly illegal don't be afraid of march. ironic that all the people that are in the big point bubble talk about the other bubbles that the fed is inflated without recognizing that they're in a bubble themselves i mean it's like a bubble is generally in the eye of the beholder nobody can tell their own bubble and so you've got all these people who are involved in the crypto bubble they can't see it. one of the worst mass shootings in america was unless vegas in 2017 the tragedy exposed
