breaking news here on r.t. international joe biden values hussein would pay the price for moscow's alleged election meddling and agrees when asked the russian president is a killer also to come to the u.s. help of pressuring brazil nuts with russia's code baxi all in the name of american safety and security and u.k. hospitals they could start cussing more services unless they get billions in support with the pandemic already leaving millions on n.h.s. wait. and i welcome you watching r.t.
8:01 am
international start this hour with breaking news tonight because the u.s. president joe biden has described russia's vladimir putin as a killer he was responding to a direct question from a journalist adding that he'll pay the price for meddling in the 2020 us elections so let's get more on this now from. he joins me in the studio quite a headline this but is there any context around what was being said well andrew this is a just quite a headline this is indeed i guess it is fair to say breaking news a groundbreaking statement from president joe biden and this puts a massive question mark over what exactly the relations between the president of russia and the president of the u.s. are going to be starting from this point but i just want to make sure we all understand what happened it was an interview to a.b.c. and this killer of state. and wasn't something joe biden said on his own again he
8:02 am
was responding to a question from the journalist and let's just have a look at what this exact moment looked like during that interview you know vladimir putin you think he's a killer. or do so what price must he pay the price she's going to pay will you'll see shortly. we mention that you know you will find out how who will pay but what could be the consequences well we don't know yet and the very important thing at this point is that for now we still don't have the reaction from the kremlin but you do realize that calling someone a killer this isn't something you hear that often on such a high level between leaders of such 2 important international players and we do remember that no matter how bad the relations between moscow and washington were in the previous years under various administrations the leaders still met in this
8:03 am
particular case like i said now there's a massive question mark they have had a phone conversation already and by the way joe biden referred to that phone conversation in that interview we already know that but whether they are going to make meet after this we don't know definitely that's something that is going to be very difficult to negotiate and surely we are still waiting for for the reaction from the russian side we already have the reaction from the russian diplomats i'll come back to that a bit later but 1st of all like you said let's look at the context because this interview comes right as. a u.s. intelligence report was being released 'd it's an unclassified report on russian meddling wow yet again but we're not talking about the relay elections in 2016 we're talking about the elections that happened last year and the report is saying that vladimir putin was actually overseeing an entire medling campaign let's take
8:04 am
a listen to some of the extracts from that report. we assess that russian president putin authorized and a range of russian government organizations conducted influence operations aimed at denigrating president biden's candidacy and the democratic policy supporting former president trump undermining public confidence in the electoral process and exacerbating satiate political divisions in the u.s. so there you have it yet again 4 years on where hearing the same line pretty much but now donald trump is no longer in the office though but like i said we don't have any reaction from the kremlin yet the russian diplomats though did speak out from the russian embassy in washington and like russia's been saying all along they believe that the u.s.
8:05 am
intelligence community isn't providing any proper proof of this and they believe that these accusations are groundless the documents prepared by the u.s. intelligence community is another set of groundless accusations against a country of interfering in american internal political processes washington continues to practice megaphone diplomacy with the main goal to maintain a negative image of russia. it was abundantly clear that the relations between washington and moscow weren't supposed to be smooth or weren't going to become any better after the handover at the white house but the question was to what extent things are going to get worse and we know that for example when it comes to security the treaty on the nonproliferation in well it was some kind of mutual step towards each other from
8:06 am
the 2 countries so we did see at one point. some light at the end of the tunnel but then with this kind of interview with this kind of rhetoric we don't know what's going to happen next so i remember here in russia conversations are already starting on whether the 2 leaders are going to meet when that's possibly going to happen like i said now this is all being undermined by that kind of rhetoric and also we are hearing about new plans from various sources in the white house to introduce a new round of antiabortion sanctions so this could be the beginning of that this could be the 1st sign that some kind of punitive measures against russia could be on the way ok yet more sanctions ok thank you ali that was our seats that we can get. you he's an independent journalist and joins us at short notice we appreciate it lee thanks for coming on let's just start with this accusation this amazing
8:07 am
comment from joe biden that president putin is a killer there's no context really yet full context under what circumstances that that response was given but what's your reaction. can you hear us. ok i'll just ask the question quickly again what's 1st what's your reaction to joe biden statement that putin is a killer. well that's a bit funny in a way and it's a compliment in a way too because in business or in politics when you say this politician is a killer it means he's very efficient so that's something and if you read his whole declaration it should he says you know this president putin and. you know if he did something wrong it will pay for it but he still wants to conclude
8:08 am
a deal on nuclear arms so i think it's just for the gallery just talk. seems to be sort of substantial commentary about the allegations of russian meddling to the russians are saying look we've heard this all before this is 26 thing it's the same record that's being played here you know providing any concrete evidence in it is that a fair enough statement a fair enough response when you look at actually what's being said and what evidence has been provided well that's i think it is a fair response in the sense that. there have been allegations that there was an american spy kremlin circles and thanks but nothing as materialized and it's still the same rehashed accusations even if there were some some messages sent to america by russian hackers and everything how can you be sure that the kind was involved you know this is. very much exaggerated and it came at
8:09 am
a time when the democrats wanted to kill donald trump on the war and killing in this census is real for the democrats in america they want to destroy president trump and so they used everything possible and one of them of course was that the great satinder great. the devil that russia uses could be responsible for their defeat that's what it comes to. the us as i said look it's looking more sanctions to be placed on russia as a result of this alleged meddling what sort of sanctions would you expect and what sort of impact could that have on relations going forward. but mr biden is very careful in everything he said he said one and the other you know not to close these options and the door so he says sanctions yes ok but this doesn't concern the
8:10 am
europeans for the moment it's only america the dead have implied sanctions on individuals they could include more individuals that could be forbidden to travel to the west and traffic counts in the west so what most of them don't anyway so. if they go further there will be thinner careful about oil about. you not that they don't want to get involved into a. war off of sanctions that go too far in terms of economics they still want to sell to russia and to to buy things from russia so it will only be probably gesticulations. individual stuff will be punished. and going back to what you said at the start of this interview linked to this and there's no indication that they won't go ahead and talk about sort of. destroying nuclear arms and perhaps come to agreements that on certain. deals that have been
8:11 am
there before it looks like that on the big issues they still do want to cooperate. yes president biden mention the fact that he talked for a long time to president putin in general they know each other and so you know this is you need to be to dance and. they know each other well they still want both of them to denuclearize the bludgeon and to reduce nuclear risk which is very evident to everybody everywhere and so that's a good point when he says that president putin is a killer again it's it's a complement in a way because being a killer means being very efficient and very clever also or president biden is getting old is older than his age and his vocabulary is reducing so it doesn't have the right words immediately and he says that president putin's a killer. or idea although we still have to wait for the full interview in to to
8:12 am
fully understand the full context of what he was saying in his response to the question but look we appreciate your time coming on to r.t. today that was independent in this thanks for coming up thank you. and i'm president in harsh that's how the kremlin has branded pressure on countries to stop using russia's vaccine the remarks do come after the us health department published a report which boasts it tried to dissuade brazil from using the russian jab with more on this his war against the. we've all heard the bat back door deals to secure that shipment of countries trampling each other to get those precious jabs this see is the 1st start we've heard of backdoor deals to deny people a vaccine the u.s. department of health health and human services boosting that it had denied hundreds
8:13 am
of millions of brazilians a drop. the office of global affairs used diplomatic relations in the americas region to mitigate efforts by states including cuba venezuela and russia who are working to increase their influence in the region to the detriment of u.s. safety and security examples include using the office of global affairs health a touchy office to persuade brazil to reject the russian copied 19 vaccine and that is what is essentially a grand perversion of simple human decency and moral values they argue that brazilians vaccinating themselves with a russian vaccine is apparently a threat to u.s. security they are explaining how they just say that it is let me put that in perspective for you we will see and hear of the daily death tallies right so one in 5 of those deaths are happening right now in brazil 20 percent of all
8:14 am
qubit deaths worldwide are in brazil and needs people a boosting that they help prevent inoculations in brazil with one of the objectives the and scientifically proven most efficient vaccines in the world ease of the same people who claim that lives in vaccines are above politics and accused russia of undermining inoculation efforts it is very clear that russia is up to its all tricks. and in doing so is potentially putting people at risk by spreading disinformation about vaccines well darden u.s. department of health and human services who feel safe and you organization behind sputnik v. has come out and said what any reasonable person already knows this is a pandemic that is threatening and killing people equally these. the threat to
8:15 am
mankind it is above politics saving and we're talking here about medians of lives is paramount but the degree of cynicism and double standards here is astonishing see when it's about saving american lives they'll take all the help that they can get remember the russian planes carrying aid to new york last year oh they accepted that no threat to national security there apparently but brazilians vaccinating themselves with sputnik god forbid no no no america current allow brazilians to do that some western states are trying not only to politicize the humanitarian aspect of the fight against coronavirus but also to take advantage of the pandemic to punish governments they don't like i'm not sure i entirely agree
8:16 am
with the russian foreign minister yes they are politicizing vaccination politicising lives that's obvious but i'm not entirely sure that the countries that the u.s. doesn't like that it's them that have been punished it's the people that they're friends with brazilians who will potentially not receive a life saving job so we're fishelson washington can go to sleep at night feeling good and safe. well despite its admission in the report the us health department says it cannot comment on vaccines not approved by the f.d.a. and cannot pressure countries from using the drugs that they have authorized themselves spurning v they are still awaiting approval in brazil. millions of britons had need of hospital treatment have been forced to wait for months due to the crisis nikkei hospitals and i warning tim they could be forced to cut more services unless they get additional funding new data does reveal 4600000
8:17 am
people who are on n.h.s. waiting lists at the end of january it is the highest number since records began in 2007 and more than 300000 have already waited a year or more to start hospital treatment agree metcalf is one of the patients he's been waiting for surgery i'm very much jessica because obviously and is even will sure the dislocation is very serious injury and codes will so so have gone through so many like even more so now probably so the thought of this is very physically popo but i was very shocked as well to find out about this surgery as well because whole these. are all types that are not life threatening i really don't know of a donor who's asked asked. of us. local authorities hospital
8:18 am
nobody seems to know i feel like the government needs to get more than not our pocket. just obviously needs lots of money for the people on waiting lists for the surgeries some are specifically really covert operations some more talking about people like myself that are waiting surgeries and all kinds of medical 'd attention surgeries but what we've got in them at the moment. well n.h.s. management say that hospitals need $8000000000.00 pounds of additional funding to cover their day to day running costs without this the n.h.s. may have to further perspire non-life threatening operations however their nature dr told us why further delays will lead to unnecessary suffering and even deaths. who knows how much they're spending they say something like 27000000000 on the on the testing which many people think in many cases it's just money that is not not being spent wisely and we have to catch up with the medical issues i mean it was
8:19 am
a personal issue i have a knee problem from a long term injury and my my operation. suspended at the moment is much to catch up on and a low people say well these are not life threatening in many cases a lot of the things that have been postponed are not immediately life threatening but if you're not detecting cancers if you're not having these operations they become life threatening down the line we have less than any population i think this is true of most any other western european country. and that's one of the reasons why we had such a disaster at the start of crisis you know when the n.h.s. started it was the world's 1st sort of pay for health service return at the. point of contact and that was the. thing and most people want to see that continued much as possible but the reality is it hasn't kept pace and another reality is that
8:20 am
people just kind of. thought it's all ok because it's never really broken like this before but i mean now the cracks definitely are exposed and something you really don't i think is a 3rd wife kind of arse infection sweeps across from 14 countries to tighten marriage tricks in the w.h.o. has published a critical report highlighting the flaws in europe's handling of the pandemic. it has revealed that our existing house financial economic and social care systems were ill prepared and poorly equipped to address sars corvee to effectively not a lot of surprises in this world health organization report really the ultimate takeaway is europe wasn't ready wasn't prepared for a health emergency of the size and scale of the covert 19 pandemic if we look back through the last year it's been pretty clear from the offing we saw hospitals
8:21 am
overwhelmed pushed to capacity and beyond in the very beginning of the pandemic and right now we're seeing continuing problems when it comes to vaccine rollout across the european union the report does highlight that inequality in society exacerbated problems but again this is not something we haven't really heard before we calling on government leaders and international organizations to fix the fractures in our societies and stop turning a blind eye to the conditions that allowed the novel coronavirus to inflict such grave damage on the world another issue raised in this w.h.o. report is a lack of a common approach when it comes to tackling health issues and yet again we do have clear examples of the us if we look back to the beginning of the pandemic we saw e.u. nations going head to head with one another fighting it out to 4 who got the p.p.a. who got the masks and well we've seen since then the united kingdom and the
8:22 am
european union clashed over vaccine distribution and then just this last weekend 6 e.u. member states signed a letter saying that they weren't happy with the way the vaccine was being distributed throughout the block saying that the current system left things open for backdoor deals. if this system were to carry on it would continue creating and exacerbating huge disparities among member states by this summer whereby some will be able to reach herd immunity in a few weeks while others would like far behind ultimately though this report points out what went wrong and highlights that not a great deal has been done to stop the same mistakes being made again for those who have been watching what's going on with the european union when it comes to this pile demick thing quite a few people would be saying yeah we know. that tensions have flared between police and demonstrators for the 4th consecutive day in the u.k.
8:23 am
over recently proposed protests legislation and the bill was introduced after police dispersed a vigil for sarah ever odd last saturday for flouting coby prescriptions 33 year old is found dead early this month and a police officer has been charged with murder and you legislation gives more powers to police during demonstrations and i mean them to impose noise and time limits on rallies however so far it's only served to fuel tensions the u.k. home secretary has defended the bill saying that it will protect people during the pandemic talking to artists going underground the american actress rose mcgowan has questioned why the u.k. government is trying to pass protest legislation during the pandemic and you can watch the full interview on r.t. throughout the day but here's a quick taste of what was said. the way cressida j. and her. police force have handled violence against women and violence against our ever art is violence against humans because i'm assuming they're probably the man
8:24 am
in natural chest as well i would hope so it is it's unconscionable it's unconscionable it's wrong and what boris johnson is trying to pass under the guise of coronavirus is absurd it's taken lee absurd and we all can see what it is it's about keeping women in their victims down so we know that crimes against women in general aren't taken seriously and instead of cleaning up our own house crescents yes response is to connect more violence against well in fairness to the british government which denies its police bill is anything to do it that she she said that while the government says there's going to be an inquiry and she said it's easy for people in their armchairs to watch the pictures being beamed around the world and not realize and understand what was really going on there. well i personally have been and involved intro checks where the police should crack down heavily and i understand what's going on there and sometimes the camera does show exactly what's

going on in this case there's always some reason to shame slash certain like the reality is i should be able to walk down the street naked i could get arrested for that certainly but nobody's allowed to greet me in sexual harassment massage he does not just when it's all us. a facebook executive has been caught on tape raising the alarm over the amount of power that is we wanted by the tech giant in an undercover video released by the investigative journalism group project very task facebook's global planning leader ben thomas even suggests that authorities should intervene. in the new system. it's a better thing for the world about looking forward. to when they would to. be made let's follow him he will carry you through the world the ruler of to believe
8:26 am
the. word was out of order. i do through shit. that's true of the holy shit still. he should not have power over jesus. just think of what we have asked our facebook to comment on this project for a task video and let us know when we get a response i mean time distrust in big tech companies appears to be on the rise with 15 states and territories joining an anti-trust lawsuit filed by texas against google and facebook it accuses them of manipulating the online ad market something that google denies facebook is around 2800000000 active users making it the largest social network in the world it is also acquired a number of companies to over the years including whatsapp or kilis and instagram the company's revenue last year was roughly $85000000000.00 and it's currently worth over 720000000000 we talked big tech with dr michael rector more.
8:27 am
it shows that they know what kind of power these big tech companies wield and facebook in particular ms case wields enormous influence and power over politics they had a tremendous impact over the american. presidential election and they intend to continue to have that kind of power over the political system so it tells me that if insiders know about this and they're contrasting it out right then it's certainly the case and this is not some sort of a conspiracy theory that's an open conspiracy to him to affect enormous control of the population. watching out internationally just coming up to half past 3 in the off and you know more sky will be back with more stories and headlines and we.
