clubs where you know i would see the tree so neal you know bear of a number is a big deal to me such saw him kind of rise and he was a you know he's an abuser but me. i was a steal one night stand taping and it was that was like to. one where you can just kill the crowd didn't know what they saw they were like what was there it was. the we started so we get they get bumped but it was 25 bucks a spot on sunday to thursday in 75 on the weekend let me just get when you were doing you remember like spot instead was already. i think we got a burger and manage christmas i didn't send spots you'd get a check for like 3 drachma as or something or they'd pay off an ecuadorian claim money that you had to carry out on a tent pole we were making 25 and 6 foot 5 brother we were just hoping that they cooked the burger all the way through back when i was still at it i remember

seinfeld came in one night now you'll love this there was a room called the laney khazan room out of the great gorge playboy club i'm a comic strips likes to in the morning we all reckon order there and sort of have a drink or a coffee on the way out at the other they side fell gets dropped off there from the playboy club comes into the bar reaches in his think pulls out this check lays it on the thing it's for like you know 175 bucks and he says read it and weep boy is it worth a good 170 bucks a kid believe you could make that money but i don't know i look back on it it's the best of times or i'd. it was i mean zydeco college is my college and it was the greatest time about i mean you go we would do you doing shows every night you're watching everybody come in it's you guys you know grab a seat you know you guys older guys pop in and you just sit in the back and see chappelle coming a lot less felt well for 4 people at boston coming up no one's in there you may go

outside until i was a bar or so to hand out flyers and i stayed on the corner you know from national to does the display it's i me i did times where people just grab it and they just drop it at your feet. they just basically just grab your written just throw it right back i appreciate it. and so we've seen those guys come in and see and you know i mean once i'm still i was like tell me we have maybe once or 3 times occasionally on stage if you go watch them and these people are like i don't want they didn't believe me i was like why would i i'm in a comic why would i lie as executives see anything up there and they think is that and then i just i think about those people every day i think about every day. in washington there's really a report and folks there wonder why they are making this. trust us no one in their york city just the sellers right next to that fire station that anderson cooper eventually bought as assaults right and then i'd have elma leno that killer italian

restaurant on the other side. so boston common good was next door to that are there that fire oh yeah i got a can fit it had been and they go 2 blocks down the middle left where the cellar was and in so there's all this i mean like in the west village like it was i think i saw you come out of a restaurant there once someone because i think we tried to get you to come on stage and you would. you know know you know what somebody may not like you know yes . you know when you're young in your work in the speed bag and you're doing those 5 gigs a night can i tell you it's easier as you well i don't have to tell you now because you're selling out theaters but eventually you get to the point where when you have to go back into the cellar or you know the holy city. and the people are like 5 feet away it freaks you out more than being at a bigger space because you got to look right out i'm in there well lit. totally get it i get it so much more now i actually made you say that i can do myself like you

just got done eating you like i don't i don't have to you know when i was young comedian be like yeah go every night gotta go do this they're in the it's like yet now i want to do spots because i could do an hour or so on stage and it's you know i think about late night since i've done a lot of late since and i'm here but recently you know said about the late night i don't even gets do it in 5 minutes and i was like i don't even to stay in and then as i've started headline me and just doing basically hours you're like oh yeah i can't it's much harder you should your act gets longer it's hard to pull stuff out and be kind of a stand alone kind of things so all this makes more sense you know i've done it for 18 years now so it makes way more since now than it did you know robert in a when you just hit the stage i had like 30 seconds before i start to get antsy and think i got a tip i got to throw

go and then after i get on stage i he leads out and gets off and then i got a call later on an offer to be on late night with sal and which is the 1st offering you know not have an audition is the 1st time they're called just said you want to do a spot and so that's pretty crazy you know you know so used to like just having to . do all these spots are all additions for and so i did that and then i met with them and then we end up hit it off and then we try to develop a show you know kind of like the letterman rather mano kind of idea did not go anywhere but we you know jim and i just kept doing as much of it and then when he was like joe he came to dad and i've done it now you know 6 or 7 and done like 13 with him fallon and so he just been very good to me and you know i just do stand up on that i like being it's nice of guy he's going to be loyal to one kind of thing and he has he's is nice is you know he always asked if it is you then i say give me
