so let me bring you the best. it's easy just. play. i. across the nation and people are waiting in long lines that's if they even have the opportunity for gas but consider yourself lucky to even have a car as a dealers across the united states are suffering from a large shortages of infant tory and i used car you've been driving might actually be worth a lot more at this very moment we are going to bring you the back story about why major domestic production lines have completely shut down and it's cleaning up day for the republicans but is it causing more of a division in their party with the ousting of a list cheney from leadership we're going to give you the 360 view of this story and the olympics are supposed to be a time when the world can come together in unity and sportsmanship but what is the effect of social movements in various countries to the games our expert joins us to
9:31 pm
discuss i'm scared to know hughes all of these stories that plus my take on today's edition of the news you tube's right here on r.t. america i. lead off today show with some good news as it looks like the clone a pipeline is a back up in operating even though officials say it's going to take several days for the supply chain to get back to normal that being said as of today several states including north carolina and virginia have declared a state of emergency as a result of the gasoline shortage now as you can imagine those lines at the pump continue to linger and they're getting longer and the panic is starting to set in or to course want to toss this week has more on these growing concerns. it's got even more than $1000.00 gas stations in the southeast reported running out of fuel part of that reason according to analysts. izmir panic buying among drivers it all
9:32 pm
began 6 days ago when again that hackers sat down a major pipeline driver was lighting up their cars in fear the current gasoline shortage will dry up even more question white says he commutes every day to work at least 25 miles and doesn't want to get stuck with out enough fuel you should have a personal reason we use a wheel. for your gas bill but they were tearing up. for a good start you know and get to work and i have the guys to build. the colonial pipeline the biggest fuel pipeline in the u.s. to liver in about 45 percent of what's consumed on the east coast was hit by a cyber attack last friday hackers locked up computer systems and demanded a ransom to release them the attack is raising concerns about just how vulnerable the nation's critical infrastructure remains all colonial resumed its normal operations monday drivers are still feeling the crunch several states including north carolina and virginia have declared a state of emergency as a result of the gas shortage however officials say there is no reason to hoard gas
9:33 pm
as it will still take a few days for operations to get up and running at normal levels that it set up already ghastly in these areas that motorists simply park their cars for a few days and conserve as much as possible but some motorists aren't so sure even while filling up certain types of fuel are also on low as n.p.'s oil price information service put the number of gas stations in countering shortages at more than $1000.00 in virginia 7.7 percent of the state's nearly $3900.00 gas stations reported running out of fuel tuesday and in north carolina 8.5 percent of the state's $5400.00 gas stations were out while they're helping reports of price gouging gas prices were rising even before the pipeline incident and now with summer approaching summer worried about the busy driving season ahead government officials are taking action to assure the public there is no reason to feel alarmed over the shortage the environmental protection agency reported. it listed some fuel
9:34 pm
quality requirements on an emergency basis and the transportation department is also relaxed and some work for standards to have railroads deliver fuel reporting for us to talk to suites. now most industries in the u.s. are starting to get back to work but car manufacturer is actually having to reverse the course and or start shutting down did you know most of the 4 plants have been shut down for several weeks here in the united states and g.m. is likely to do the same but it's not for the coronavirus so tell us about why domestic car lot seem a little bit more desolate these days we were going found a partner at synergy advisory manager group l.l.c. andrew aaron's andrew thank you so much for joining me on this thank you very much for having me today ok so andrew the u.s. environmental protection agency states that the average weight this is the average weight of a car in 20 years about 4000 pounds of that size we're talking about well small little piece which is causing automobile bill manufacturers to stop production here
9:35 pm
in the u.s. so what exactly is causing all of the trouble these small loom simone conjuncture chips that we just don't have enough books right now that is causing a major major problem here with the supply would move beetles to the dealers in the u.s. well and that's i think you know we knew there was going to be a supply chain issues so why did it maybe out of nano automobile manufacturers do anything to prevent this i mean to tell you other technological industries are still going and they have to use the same little chips. right i know but you know we had such a meter you know it's a supply and demand type of thing with regards to the coronavirus and people staying at home all in the demand for tronics and everything like that so basically that caused a major supply demand issue and with regards to the you want to go into streets been up ended because of that we just don't have enough chips to. you know supply
9:36 pm
the cars with different parts of the car that you may not make with regards to entertainment systems we just don't have that ship spin that driver assistance systems cruise control things like that so that's why right now there's a major issue going on and boarding g.m. did complete some of their cars and they're going to have to make some changes after next year ender i mean i think you know i honestly did not even realize this was going on it's actually been happening for several weeks now my actual that. i talked to my dad it was like i can't get a car hope you're not planning on looking for one lately and then i start looking around and notice the loudest airship had some very fast cars some scarth parking lots and for them so but some are and some are not i think that's a big key here what car brands are actually being affected by this and who is not. well there are all newly being affected is the top of the line you know the vehicles you know for instance. your c.d.'s and
9:37 pm
b.m.w. are having means your problems because a lot of their cars need come with seats that move like 18 to 24 different ways and they're just not being able to produce them because they don't have the chips so you know that's part of the problem right now is that they can't get the chip supply to get some of the features so a lot of the cars are going to come in a little bit more stripped down and that's what i think we're going to see you know in the beginning at the end of this year they're going in next year when. hopefully the supply you know will come back in the next 6 to 9 months which that does not make them because they're buying the high end cars they like all the bells and whistles you know we're seeing right now you know with all that's got everything going on gas right now the joke is that the electric a hybrid car owners are just driving by and smiling and watching and waiting are we still at this hour electric and hybrid car say the testa being affected by this absence. well you know all the car manufacturers are or are being affected to some
9:38 pm
point but really it really is the high end manufacturers that are the ones that are having the most problems here trying to get out you didn't florida's having a big problem with the sort of one city you know it's got some you know premium equipment on the on the vehicle and the just you know having problems getting it out you know we talk about if you've ever like running the engine of your hood it's like i do absolutely need a computer degree to try to even change my oil at this age it's become very technical and i think this is probably one of those drawbacks as compared to maybe 3040 years where anybody could just you know actually go in there and just follow the steps and you can get car working again i'm a little bit wondering if this is having any effect actually on the market itself you know i've tried to look at for stock truck a car stocks is this actually having a hard effect on an industry that's had a real tough year yet i mean celso been flat through
9:39 pm
a long time right now and right now the demand is very high right now coming out of the condemning people want to spend a lot of money on cars these seem to have some money and they're ready to spend but you know the supply is just not really dear and i just would think it's going to happen a step however i think that you know car manufacturers are going to be able to demand higher prices because of the issue of not being able to you know get the into vehicles to dealers and that's a problem higher prices you know right now you might have money but that doesn't mean in 5 years for most people pay off their car they still have that same cash in the pocket any thank you so much for joining us and good thoughts insight into this i imagine more people are going to start looking at it as the weeks go by go by and they realize they don't have any vehicle options right now same thing with rental cars can't find a real car right now i was told so lots of obviously many different demands that people don't realize thanks for joining us thanks for having me today. when we return the olympic games have already faced many challenges post pandemic
9:40 pm
but now will social justice movements be the most crippling effect of them on. the subtle. hey everyone i'm joined by my old friend mr ellis williams a can a mr big you call me and you tell me you say man i got caught he'll and it work what made you get it just old issues and i know too many fresh want to use both right now i don't want to do stuff with expensive car right so i gave cost him a cool cover of a very affordable and there was no more contra to most of that transmission with all month call to through my mechanic they call causal and say my family $2400.00 car shield is america's number one auto protection company their administrators a paid out over a $1000000000.00 in claims to cover most vehicles from 500-215-0000 miles you'll
9:41 pm
receive 247 roadside assistance courtesy towing rental reimbursement add no one dish no charge give car shield a call today before it's too late remember cough through cause go call them protect yourself now against expensive auto repair bills 805893761. there's so much going on in the world don't you think when's the last time you had a real bird's eye view. of the news be more than just hours of bickering give me 30 minutes i'll take you off the low. guys i made a professional is powerpoint to show you how archie america fits into the greater media landscape our team is not all laughter i'm all right but we are a solid alternative to the bullshit we don't you liberal or conservative and as you
9:42 pm
can see in this bar graph we don't skew the facts either the talking head lefties talking at righties oh there you go above it all to look at world are to americans in the spotlight now every really admired have no idea how to classify as when it actually took me way more time than i cared to limit. the international olympic committee has voted and decided they're not going to allow a black lives matter to be involved in this year's olympic games now $3500.00 athletes were surveyed the last year and 70 percent agree pushing personal political views from one country while participating in the olympics was inappropriate so did the i.o.c. make the right decision now i want to be fair there's been forms of protests in the past for various social movements and the i.o.c. has come out early outlining what is and what is not allowed at this year's games so help us for us discussion we bring in new jersey's chief of staff page
9:43 pm
placements and thank you so much for joining me a.j. . thank you for having me and les to be here ok so let's 1st just start off and kind of tell our audience what exactly was black lives matter wanted to be able to do in this year's olympic games. so they want to be able to make a political stance about racial inequality systemic racism here in america and probably where different shewn different things on their jerseys similar to what we see in the n.b.a. in places like that where you see black lives matter all even on the court but they want to make a political scene ok and i understand that here in america and we're all americans obviously we all from oh so they are the familiar with the issue but i do have some concern about putting that on the world stage when you have many many countries each of them having their own issues they're trying to deal with do they feel like why did the i.o.c. say you know what we're going to go want to do this now we're going to preempt it and we're going to just say here's the rules what you can and can't do are they
9:44 pm
afraid that this was going to actually make become the story of the olympics. well you know what whenever you take a strong stance in today's culture it's the story the fact that you believe that you have a right to draw a boundary people get upset about that people don't like to be told. right from wrong they don't want to hear that their political statement isn't important in terms of the olympics but that's the i.o.c. job is to draw their boundary they are affecting players to come in to be fashionable and to represent their country not their movement and not themselves so how has a block was not a responded here in america to these new rules have they put out anything or how any public response. well i think they're from people on the left making comments about how you know it's taking away speech rights and things like that but i think that should totally be ignored if you understand the point of the olympics this is
9:45 pm
america versus the rest of the world this is a time for us to unify around or this is not political this is supposed to be competitive and the end of the day we want to live is to be fun and i'm glad the i.o.c. took a strong stance was interesting because let's move it back here to home because if you like i have to can take a stand to keep politics out of sports yet domestically here in america our own outside organizations can't seem to avoid it why is that and is that a good thing for that the sports the selves. well there is that unfortunate downturn has happened in sports where even sportscasters are constantly throwing around little cool statements you have people calling on george or calling it you know slave laws when they passed laws tightening their election sports has become political but the reason why i think a lot of people want to be social justice warriors
9:46 pm
a lot of people want to you know quite frankly they want to get attention for themselves they're building their own brand and it's a peer pressure thing if you want needle at the game the other players will call you out it's unfortunate the way that our culture has gone sports is supposed to be about unity it's supposed to be about team or you're supposed to be being a good example to young people and you're supposed to be being professional this is your job this is not the place for you to be making political statements and protesting now the n.b.a. allows it and that's their prerogative but i agree with the i.o.c. the a limits is not the place for this kid that home well and that's i think it has happened before you know over 50 years ago there were 2 olympians tommy smith and john carlos actually lost their medals because they raised a fist during the u.s. national anthem at the 1968 olympics in mexico city they were protesting the same thing racial injustice so these bans are actually nothing new you know i have to ask why did the bad guys right or think that they would be the exception when this
9:47 pm
president this rule had already been been set up long for decades. right well keep in mind i can't wear and i love jesus and i should you know as much as i am i think that's important i can't speak out against you know the slave labor that's going on in china like none of these things is the point of the 11th and they've been clear about that for a long time i think that's why they've been able to be so strong about this when you have a clear standard that applies to everyone no one should expect to be above that not even black clouds matter although here in the u.s. it's become kind of a righteous notice if you're a social justice anti-racist warrior and you walk around with a black glass matter had as if that's doing anything to help black people which black clouds matter is not so the olympics is not the place for indeed political stance it is supporting movements that are getting billions of dollars and doing
9:48 pm
nothing for black people and we need to keep sports as sports force is not the you know it's not protesting on the street it's not even really honestly what has it really done to improve things for everyday black people so let's just let's just simple fire this and i wish we could do something like this and united states well it will be interesting to see if there are so other ways obviously for people to have a through expression and i'm sure everybody always finds a way whether it's on their own social media are in their own private lives a.j. thank you for joining us today thank you for having me. well republicans have gone and done it and actually they did something that is extremely rare in politics they have voted to oust one of their own representative live cheney over her past comments and lack of support for the former president trump as agenda from her leadership position guess what she is not going to go outside only. the nation needs a strong republican party the nation needs
9:49 pm
a party that that is based upon fundamental principles of conservatism and i am committed and dedicated to ensuring that that's how this party goes forward and i plan to lead the fight to do that i will do everything i can to ensure that the former president never again gets anywhere near the oval office we have seen the danger that he continues to provoke with his language we have seen his lack of commitment and dedication to the constitution and i think it's very important that we make sure whomever we elect is somebody who will be faithful to the constitution and now the votes from her only took 16 minutes so obviously house members had already made up their mind when they walked into that room but people are asking the question did liz take this stand on principle and like she said wanted to protect the constitution or is she trying to make a name for herself for the 2024 presidential election amongst a certain group of the g.o.p.
9:50 pm
and the biggest question is any of this good for the republican party what are going to 360 view of this family feud we bring in our panel do you doc and tell you who is a former georgia state representative and conservative commentator and strategist rory reilly thank you ladies for joining me on this one thank you happens ok so i want to start with you worry because guess what we're talking about your house today and i have to say is this really a smart move for republicans at this time considering they're only 60 it's away from reclaiming the majority should you be alienating anybody that claims to have some sort of tie to the republican party at this point. well i think that you're right that they really shouldn't be looking to alienate anybody and as far as whether it's a smart move i think that from their perspective it's a smart move in the short term i don't however think it's a sure move in the long term because as we've seen trump is a very polarizing figure whether you agree with him or not i think you can agree
9:51 pm
that he's polarizing and they've said that cheney is a distraction but i would argue continuing to talk about who is no longer in office is arguably more of a distraction than anything it was cheney was saying but dee as a democrat looking at this is there any doubt the republicans still have donald trump is the leader of this party i mean there's no other may name that has been able to come out of focus in the past even just few months trump is still this is still trump's party so if taking a listen out of office does that actually help or hurt republicans when they're trying to form an i did he post trump or is this just saying guess what he's still going to stick with us. well you know i hate to get in family squabbles they really don't concern me but i will say this it is great for the democratic party that the republican party is imploding because this is very much donald trump's heart and this shiny was very correct history's going to judge the republicans on this moment
9:52 pm
in time and so baby get it all together or just go ahead and say you know what we can all about you jim rassmann not even upon us because to me liz cheney is the only one along 100 others on saturday they may or may. not have since. you know it's interesting you say that he because honestly chuck schumer came out and actually said this is horrible why would you do this to one as a republican looking at this goes why would we go along with chuck schumer why would we go along obviously democrats are saying we loveless cheney if you love her take her that mean that she's more part of your party what the democrats be perceptive if the if the republicans came out said you need to get right you need to keep you know get rid of nancy pelosi what the democrats did it not honestly kind of back up why republicans were angry at liz when her biggest churning squad were the democrats. you know not to leave it out like this interesting georgie you have grand rapids girl who was the secretary of state who was trying to do
9:53 pm
a legitimate election and then you had the governor. you know what i really don't see voter for all it's as well as the house and. all republicans doing right is not germane to the political party is at the core of who you are and so there are republicans not agree with their agenda grass i disagree with but at the end of the day i'll have to be in. this chain you have some because everyone knows donald trump inside right. and the united states capitol. but as you watch today as a republican looking at everything that's going on right now in the country rory i mean task prices with the turmoil in the middle east is still a bit of a great day right now for the republicans to take focus on all the things and put the blame on the biden maceration instead we're talking about what just happened the republicans once again come a sabotaged this new cycle to make sure they're still the ones that are being put
9:54 pm
in the quit put in the spotlight that being said republicans they're putting her on her credibility they put margaret green underneath the category but they're not actually holding the people who possibly could have done a legal actions within their own party neither democrats why is it that they're going after oddly enough females within the republican party for words that they said not necessarily the males and i'm going to back to you dee as well why are we going after the men who have possibly committed criminal actions they still have their titles and their leadership positions within both parties why is it is it is it just a simple just because words are more powerful than actions. well while i agree generally that actions speak louder than words i think that you get to an important point here which is that unfortunately sexism runs deep and we're seeing that play out right now with these examples that you just mentioned that was cheney and marjorie taylor green as well as some of the men that you mentioned as well that are being investigated for more serious crimes i think we clearly see a double standard and as you know that's
9:55 pm
a double standard that exists with both parties as well as outside the political spectrum i think as a society we have a lot of work to do before we really are treating men and women as equals and it's disappointing to see that it's consistently women being singled out for clearly legal behavior whereas men are continuously given a pass for doing more agree just actions when they hold a position of power in politics and i imagine you believe in that kind of agree with that so let me ask you why are the democrats when we look at some of the things that are happening and i'm referring to representative that was actually having a relationship which we now with the chinese spy all of these things are going what are the democrats doing to hold their house accountable or is it a perfectly clean house. well 1st i have to have problems even in my own personal house but what i can say is the democratic party has been the big team i mean we are always going to be going to sexism and racism and classism until the whole google keep will probably die and go to the other side and hopefully we will be
9:56 pm
able to educate this next generation of young people to eradicate all of the isms exists here in america let me be very clear women even democratic women we ran for office and when we served we always get criticized for my hair on slow beings where are you going to eat who we are in a relationship where what and so at some point all the women around the world to rise up at some point on because i honestly believe that the world would be a better place if women ran the entire well he might be that a devil that means i'm going toss they were a real quick to you on this one. because of everything going on today do you think how do you think the american people are viewing this as you talk to your neighbors right now the people there on the street obviously there's a lot of things going on that is actually affecting everyday household and yet this is what their focus on this is what they're spending hours upon it does this not why people are don't like d.c.
9:57 pm
and why they don't like politicians right now. well i think you're right that it's why they don't like d.c. as your point of what are people on the street saying i think that really depends on where you live we've heard people on both sides of this take really strong opinions but i think for the average person to your point this really takes away from things that are more important the gas shortage for example the economy things that really impact people who is in the conference leadership has much less of an impact on people's daily lives and in some of these other issues and to your point i think that today was wholly time to given everything else that's going on in the world well unfortunately that's just how d.c. usually works great conversation that we had i agree could actually go on better if more women were in office and guess what that's it for me now i want to follow me on twitter at scotty and use the hash tag team n.b.a. and for the show and more down the portal the t.v. app on your android or apple device thank you for watching another tell you again our goal here is to bring you the news that you can use in order for you to form

our culture is awash in lives dominated by streams of never ending electronic hallucinations that emerge fiction until they are indistinguishable we have become the most deluded society on earth politics is a species of endless and needless political theater politicians have morphed into celebrity are 2 ruling parties are in reality one party to corporate and those who attempt to puncture this vast breathless universe of fake news designed to push through the cruelty and exploitation of the neoliberal hordes of our force so far to the margins of society including by a public broadcasting system that has sold its soul for corporate money that we might as well be mice squeaking against an avalanche but squeak we must.
10:00 pm
